functional households makes you voluntarily eat fruit.

For context; i never eat a lot at my own house. Living in a dysfunctional household i learned quickly to associate the kitchen/ dining room with vulnerability. An open space where i can be attacked at any moment (mostly my mother) with unnecessary passive aggression, so im never in the kitchen for longer than necessary and i certainly don’t sit down having a lovely time eating fruit. (we all know the passive aggressive „oh look someones finally healthy blabla“)

but im at my father‘s house for the holidays and omg! the amount i ate! And im not talking Christmas dinner stuff since we dont celebrate but just normal dining

No what i mean is i just saw a mango and thought sure why not and now im sitting here at the dinner table eating mango and chillin without fear my father would come and say some judgy shit. Like the amount of vitamins im having rn is more than my entire intake last month.

As it turns out a peaceful home makes your kids eat fruit and not let it wither away because they see existing in open space as a threat. Which also has the side effect of you not having to scold your kids for letting it rot perpetuating the idea that it’s not safe outside their rooms in the first place.

anyways happy holidays and eat mango they are actually tasty.
