Sabertooth Guild as Pokémon Trainers
Tumblr media
The way I have done this with Fairy Tail x Winx Club, Fairy Tail x Disney Descendants, and now.... Sabertooth x Pokémon 😅😭. I know I will not be able to get any work done if I don’t do this so here you go!
Dobengal - Gym Leader
Tumblr media
Now, now, I know we literally know nothing about him, but it’s fun to imagine what he would be like and what kind of Pokémon he’d have on his team!! 😭😅
Dobengal would be a fighting-type gym leader.
I see him being the 6th gym leader in your journey.
His gym would be in city, Iridiana.
Iridiana is Greek for rainbow! I chose this name because Dobengal uses some sort of rainbow magic in canon.
Imagine his gym is similar to a fighting dojo!! All of the trainers you have to battle would be members of his family!
Be prepared to battle many Mienshao, Machamp, Hitmonchan, all of those cuties.
Please train your team before challenging his gym. PLEASE. All of his team excels in speed.
Dobengal has many Pokémon and he constantly rotates his party. You never really know who he will send out and that’s what is so terrifying about challenging him. You think you can defeat him by bringing in a flying type? Dobengal counters that with his Weavile. Psychic type? Counters with his Bisharp.
Neither of those two Pokémon are fighting types, but he does not give a damn.
His most common team is usually:
Hariyama
Ninjask
Lucario
Weavile
Gallade
And his biggest triumph card, his Greninja.
Froakie was his first-ever starter, and until this very day, is the only Pokémon he has never switched out from his party.
He gave it the name Kunai because when he was a kid, they used to play ninjas together. Dobengal’s choice of weapon was shuriken and Kunai’s choice of weapon was a kunai!
If you have ever watched Pokémon XYZ series... Yes, he and his Greninja share the same bond as Ash does with his.
Dobengal-Greninja!!
Do you remember that one Pokémon trainer Tobias who had a literal Latios AND Darkrai on his team??
Yeah, he also has an Urshifu (Fighting-Water).
Urshifu, for many reasons, is not used for his gym battles. He never caught Urshifu into a pokéball! They just love to have each other around.
Cute note! Dobengal and his family started a home for nursing sick and injured Pokémon back to health!! 😭🥺. Whenever he is not working at his gym, you can always find him at the shelter taking care of Pokémon. He loves Pokémon SOOOO MUCH.
You actually found him at the shelter because you found an injured Pokémon on the way to Iridiana City. He would be so grateful for you to bring in the Pokémon here. Once they were okay, you two would proceed to his gym.
It was not an easy battle. You challenged him like what, 3-5 times? But you would never feel embarrassed by losing. Dobengal is strict and scary in battle, but he will always make sure to give you supportive advice. He wants you to learn from your mistakes and become the best trainer for you and your dear Pokémon.
One day, you finally beat him!! He’d be so proud. It wasn’t easy with his Dobengal-Greninja & Mega Gallade, but you did it. He’d congratulate you with the TM, Close Combat, as well his gym badge, the Ninja Badge.
Sorano/Angel Aguria - Pokémon Performer
Tumblr media
She is beauty, she is grace, and her Pokémon will gracefully kick you in the face!! Miss Sorano Aguria!
Sorano had sort of a rocky start to her path as a Pokémon trainer. She used to be one of the elite members, AKA the Six Prayers, of the now-disbanded team, Team Oración Seis.
It has been years afterward and Sorano has begrudgingly paid her time with the Magic Council. She has now reunited with her younger sister, Yukino Aguria, and the girls have started a new slate of sisterhood.
It truly was a struggle to find out what she wanted to do. She’d always see Yukino come home from work all exhausted and happy. Now, Sorano adored her baby sister. She loved to see her succeed with her work!
She did despise Yukino’s best friend and coworker, Lucy Heartfilia, but that’s another story.
But, it kind of sucked seeing her sister make all of the big moves and she was stuck at home watching her 10th rewatch of Keeping Up With Blue Pegasus.
But, on her 11th rewatch, something clicked for her when Jenny Realight smacked BFF, Karen Lilica, for sleeping with her boyfriend, Hibiki Lates.
Sorano was so much better than everyone on that goddamn show and she deserved as much stardom as those Blue Pegasus trainers.
What’s not to like? She's funny, honest, beautiful, and stylish, don’t look at her criminal record. She can be just as famous and popular as them!
And so forth began her path onto become a star.
She decided to pursue a career as a Pokémon Performer.
Sorano had all of the support from her precious sister and the mockery of her ex-teammates from Team OS.
But that did not stop them from going to all of her performances and getting front-row seats.
As well as going with her to every store to find her the right outfit for her first showcase. As well as doing her hair and makeup. As well as going to all of her rehearsals and giving her constructive criticism. She will always have her boys’ support. They’ll never say it aloud though.
Erik got arrested on the 1st night of Angel’s showcase. It’s not his fault! A stranger in the crowd had insulted her. Erik walked out of the showcase with a smile on his face and handcuffs on his wrists.
She soon earned the nickname, Angel! It is because she carries the grace and elegance of an angel when performing.
Angel specializes in flying-type Pokémon!
Her team consists of:
Mawile
Oricorio (Sensu-Style)
Swanna
Togekiss
Altaria
Lugia
Back in her time in Team OS, each of the 6 Prayers was gifted a legendary Pokémon by their ex-master, Brain.
Sawyer wields Deoxys (Speed Form)
Richard wields Regirock.
Erik wields Eternatus.
Macbeth wields Yveltal.
She dearly loves all of her Pokémon. Mawile is the only non-flying type in her team. She keeps it in her team because it was a gift from Yukino.
She loves to soar the skies with all of her team. Angel puts on the best showcases and later became a superstar. She's on all the magazines, has her own podcast, and will soon be having her own show: Fiore’s Next Top Pokéformer.
Please don’t let her be in the same room as Lisia.. There can only be one star with an Altaria.
Yukino Aguria - Scientist
Tumblr media
Yukino grew up with her roommates and best friends, Lucy Heartfilia and Hisui Fiore.
She had lost her parents at a young age and her elder sister had taken off with the wrong crowd for a few years. It was difficult to watch the news of Team OS causing destruction in the region. She had tried many times to get through to her sister, but it had never worked. One day, with the help of trainers from the Fairy Tail school, Team OS was defeated. Yukino had the comfort of her friends when her sister was arrested.
Yukino tried to reach out to her, but Sorano (ridden with guilt and shame) didn’t speak with her for some time. It wasn’t until a few years into Sorano’s imprisonment that she finally reached out to Yukino.
It was with the help of higher powers in the world that had given the sisters a chance to bond again.
Sorano was free, Yukino moved out from her apartment, and the sisters settled down at a home together.
Yukino and her BFFs all work in the Aether Foundation (Lusamine has stepped down and Loke is now the head of it all.) Yukino, Lucy, and Hisui are scientists who are researching the Ultra Wormholes & Beasts.
Yukino has always had a passion for science and Pokémon. She always excelled at science in school. Yukino loves to visit her coworker Lisanna Strauss who works in the medical field of AF and helps find cures for injured Pokémon.
Lusamine was someone Yukino had so much respect for and it hurt once she learned of the woman’s true colors. She, her friends, coworkers, as well as Lusamine’s children, had worked together to put an end to Lusamine.
Yukino was the reason they could stop Lusamine and Necrozma. With her research, they were able to travel to Ultra Megalopolis. Yukino became the face of many scientific journals afterward.
The foundation was in a troubled state after Lusamine’s departure, but the girls have been rising in the ranks and helping create a new and safe image for their work. Yukino has been intrigued by Lusamine’s work and has been researching the UW more in-depth. She wanted to know if there were more Ultra Beasts out in the world and wanted to help them and make sure a situation like Lusamine never happened again.
With the combined teamwork of her & the Ultra Recon Squad, they found more Ultra Beasts.
Yukino had become even more popular. As a form of gratitude, the Ultra Recon Squad, had given her an UB to have as her own; Celesteela.
Yukino was never one to go down the path as a Pokémon trainer like most of her friends from Sabertooth High. She was a scientist and she did carry a few Pokémon. But, she never wanted to own an Ultra Beast. She just wanted to help and discover new things about them and the world they live in.
However, Celesteela wanted to be with Yukino. Celesteela was Yukino’s research beast and it had grown to love Yukino. Yukino couldn’t say no to it, and accepted it onto her team.
Yukino’s team consists of psychic and steel Pokémon.
Celesteela
Metagross
Solrock
Lunatone
Oricorio (Pa’U Style; a gift from Sorano.)
Copperajah
Rufus Lore - Elite Four
Tumblr media
Off topic, but Rufus reminds me of Avery and Bede from SWSH. I say this in a good way because I love all 3 of them.
Rufus is a child prodigy. He came from a rich family and had a personal trainer as a kid. His parents were infamous trainers and are close friends of the owner of Parfum Palace in the Kalos region.
Rufus had a natural talent for Pokémon and always won his battles. He wins his battles with his smart skills and quick thinking. He quickly rose in the ranks and became a trainer. One of the past E4 members in the Ishgar region had left due to an illness. Rufus had decided to test his strength and try to earn the spot of the new E4. It was a difficult process, even for him, but he was the only one who stood out to the champion and E4.
He became the newest member not so long ago. Each of the E4 excel in one base stats. He excels highly in defense.
Rufus wields psychic and fairy-type Pokémon.
His team consists of:
Hatterene
Sigilyph
Meowstic
Unown
Galarian Rapidash
Alakazam
His arena is a library, similar to Shauntal’s arena from Unova. But rather all purple, his is pink and sophisticated. He has his instruments in his arena and most of the time, you will find him singing as he plays on his piano or harp.
Rufus is new, and a little experienced. He is not one to admit his mistakes, but his new E4 friends are always there to help him grow as a member of the E4. He is not one to accept defeat well, but he is slowly learning to accept it. It’s the perfectionist in him. But as time goes by, he lets go of that part of himself.
Rufus remembers all of his opponents and will take each lesson he learns from each battle with him.
Rufus first pokémon was Hatterene as a kid. He will never let anyone know this, but he had chosen Hatterene because they both wore hats. That was his logic back then.
Please beware of his Hatterene when it completes it Gigantamax. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. TAKE THE L.
Orga Nanagear - Elite Four
Tumblr media
ORGA <333
The oldest of the E4. He is like a big brother to everyone. He’s the favorite of everyone. He’s a really nice and outgoing guy, with a horrible voice. He was found by the champion on the streets of Nimbasa City. The champion watched his battle with Elesa. They were fascinated with his attitude and skills. They had later brought in Orga for further interest, and he later earned the title as an E4.
Orga specializes in electric-type pokémon!
While Rufus specializes in defense, Orga specializes in attack!
His arena is a concert stadium.
Please for the love of God, WEAR NOISE CANCELLING HEADPHONES.
No matter how many times people tell him how atrocious his singing is, he does not believe it. His grandma said she loved his singing!
His grandma is just as awful at singing.
His arena is filled with groupies as he sings his original songs to them. You will battle him in front of his fans.
Off topic, but Orga reminds me Tierno!! AHHH
Orga’s team consists of:
Magnezone
Luxray
Tapu Koko
Toxtricity (Amped-Form)
Electivre
Hawlucha
Now, Hawluchia is not an electric type, but!! You know how Ash’s Hawlucha acts? That’s how Orga’s Hawlucha behaves. He loves this little guy OMG.
Orga may look like a giant, but he is such a softie for tiny pokémon. Especially tiny electric pokémon.
Emolga, Pichu, Pachirusu, Plusle, Minun, Jolteon, Yamper, Helioptile, Dedenne, Togedemaru, Morpeko.... HE LOVES THEM ALL!
Orga’s a fair sport if he loses. He’ll definitely think you’re awesome and will give you merchandise and a signed CD of his original songs.
There’s a bucket of his CDs piled on the garbage can on the way to the next E4.
Rogue Cheney - Elite Four
Tumblr media
HONEY BEAR <33333
Rogue had a similar past to Sorano! He was a part of Team Phantom Lord, but he was not one of the higher ranks. He was a part of Team PL since he was a child. His father, Skiadrum, was one of the higher officials and wanted Rogue to take his spot.
Team PL had disbanded after being defeated by the Fairy Tail dojo, and Skiadrum was soon arrested by the Magic Council. Rogue was put into a foster home soon after. He only had 2 things with him. (1) His cat, Frosch. (2) The pokémon his father wanted him to wield once he was older, Zekrom.
Rogue had no idea what to do with Zekrom. It was the last gift from his father. But his father wanted him to use it for evil purposes.
But that was the thing. Rogue did not want to be evil.
Hell, he had no idea what he wanted to be.
The guilt had overwhelmed him and he had escaped his foster home. Rogue had been on his own for a while now and he still had not taken Zekrom out of its pokéball. Rogue started to live a small, quiet life in Ishgar, but his father’s enemies had found out he had Zekrom.
Rogue was on the run for some time and had escaped captivity from his father’s enemies. One day, when he was older, he had unintentionally run into the champion of Ishgar. The two had started a blooming friendship.
Rogue liked talking to this person. They were so kind and easy to talk to. They had kept their friendship for years. The champion went off working and taking care of the throne, Rogue working a small, life. He rounded up a few Pokémon of his own but had never started a journey. Rogue slowly grew to bond with Zekrom. He didn’t view Zekrom as a legendary monster, bur rather a friend.
And one day, the champion visited him and asked to battle him.
It was an even match, but Rogue had lost.
Embarrassment filled him, but it soon turned to astonishment when he found out the champion was testing his skills. They had decided to make him a part of their E4.
Rogue was speechless.
There were so many contenders who could make a better E4 and they chose him?
The champion said all the other contenders lacked something that Rogue had, and that was empathy.
It was Rogue’s love for Zekrom and his team that the champion knew he would be perfect.
Rogue was the second of the current E4 to join.
His arena is simple but classy. It resembles Drayden’s gym in Unova.
Orga specializes in attack, Rufus specializes in defense, and Rogue had specialized in both speed and special attack.
Rogue’s team consisted of a mixture of dark, ghost, and dragon-type pokémon.
Zekrom
Dusknoir
Haxorus
Hydreigon
Purrloin
Dragapult
He is the only member of the E4 who does not use mega evolutions, Z-moves, or Dynamax. Do not underestimate him though. There’s a reason why he is an E4 member.
Just like Orga, Rogue adores tiny pokémon. That is why he has Purrloin on his team. It is very nice friends with Frosch.
Rogue is very smart, but also kind in battle. He enjoys seeing people’s love for their partners and always wants what is best for them.
Sting Eucliffe - Elite Four
Tumblr media
The final and strongest member of the E4!! <333
Sting was the third to join the E4. He was the only one to defeat all 8 of Ishgar’s gym leaders. He managed to defeat Orga, Rogue, and the previous E4 members. But, he had lost to the champion.
The champion saw traits similar to Orga and Rogue. Sting had Orga’s attitude, while also having Rogue’s empathy.
The champion loved how kind Sting had treated all of his pokémon after he had lost.
Sting is a very carefree guy and doesn’t take things to heart.
The champion had offered him a spot right then and there. One of the previous E4 members was leaving for unknown circumstances.
Sting had taken the job right on the spot.
Sting specialized in speed and special defense.
He specializes in dragon-type pokémon.
His team is:
Reshiram
Duraludon
Noivern
Garchomp
Salamence
AbsoL
Absol was his first ever pokémon. He loves it dearly.
He and Rogue became fast friends when he became a member of the E4. Partly because each of them wielded a legendary dragon type. Reshiram and Zekrom are very good friends.
Sting’s the most easy going, but he is also the most serious in battle. He takes his job very seriously. but don’t be too scared of him! He just wants you to understand the importance of what it means to get here and to be prepared for the champion.
Minerva Orlando - Champion of the Ishgar Region
Tumblr media
THE QUEEN. I LOVE FEMALE CHAMPIONS. WE LOVE YOU CYNTHIA, DIANTHA, & IRIS. <33333
Since forever, the Orlandos have ruled Ishgar. Minerva’s father, Jiemma, was the previous champion before he was surpassed by his daughter. Jiemma surpassed his mother, his mother surpassed his grandfather, and so on.
It's tradition.
Minerva was the fastest Orlando to become champion. She was an all-around trainer and took Ishgar by storm.
Each of the E4 excel in particular areas.
Minerva? She excels in it all.
She may be intimidating, but she does care for those around her deeply.
She was the one who helped Sorano get a shortened sentence, allowing the Aguria’s to reunite.
She was also the one to help Orga, Rogue, and Sting become E4 members.
She had helped Rufus design his arena and become less of a perfectionist.
She was the one who helped Dobengal build his shelter for Pokémon.
Minerva Orlando will do anything for those she loves.
Minerva does not have one specific type of pokémon.
Like I said, she’s an all-rounder. Her team consists of:
Palkia
Ninetales
Serperior
Gardevoir
Scolipede
Aurorus
There is a reason why no one has been able to dethrone her. It’s because she is the very best of them all.

An essay about my ocarina of Time inspired Anipoke au
Okay, just to clarify, this au was made when I had an idea that the Minish/Picori were supposed to be mythical event, Pokémon for getting a copy of Pokémon emerald and Minish cap anyways, the story is Ash and his friends in Hoenn discover a new Pokémon that they call picori but little did they know that picori it’s actually link Who was cursed by Vaati Long story short, they break the curse, link sees his childhood friend called Zelda again, ash mentions Serena to May,Max and brock, link gives the ocarina of time to Ash as a thank you present and they go away Ever, since that day, Ash has been having nightmares about his past life as link, Dawn wake him up in a cold sweat to tell him, that breakfast is ready after breakfast he tells them that he’s going on a walk, he’ll be back when it’s lunchtime, Brock and Dawn Think of that ash is acting strange ever since link gave him that ocarina but they forget about it, do their own thing Meanwhile while he was walking ash senses the master sword and pulls it out of its pedestal, he sleeps for seven years until a Noctowl Named Rauru wakes him up, tells him that he made a mistake by pulling the master sword, he also tells them he’s a Lucario as a punishment for pulling the master sword, in order to turn back, he needs to fix his mistake by awakening the other sages, he gives him the light medallion and sends him on his way while on his journey to a awaken other stages he meets a greninja Who gives him advice and teaches him songs for him to play on his ocarina, after he awakens the other sages, greninja approaches him and tells him about the creation of the world and the Triforce. He also tells him that Lysander found the Triforce and made a wish that came true, but the Triforce split into three triangles Lysander wields the Triforce of power, ash wields the Triforce of courage, and the Sage of time wields The Triforce of wisdom, ash asks Who is the sage of time?, The Triforce piece on One of greninja’s strong and webbed leg shines bright, revealing it’s true form and turns ash back to normal again once it’s stopped he sees where greninja was standing there was a honey blonde princess, ash realises that its Serena and she tells him what happened to her when he was sleeping for seven years, then Lysander kidnapped her, ash rescued her, Lysander became a Yveltal, Ash kills him with the master sword, and Serena seals him to the secret realm, never to be seen again, and everyone is happy that their evil king is gone forever, until Serena realises that ash shouldn’t be in this time so she sent him back before he pulled the master sword from its pedestal causing everyone except ash to lose their memories, he stops his past self from pulling the master sword and goes back to Brock and Dawn, he tells him about his Adventure, but they don’t believe him everything goes the same until he reunites with Serena again, he tells her do you remember me?, everything goes the same, except ash wins the kalos League and he takes a break from travelling to new regions for a while, after that break, he goes to new regions, and then he gets together with Serena, and that’s how this au ends so what did you think? did you like it? Would you like to change and add anything? If so, please tell me what would you like to change and add in this au! I would love to hear your ideas on this I worked really hard on this au

Why do you want Ash to be sad? Man, people these days can't let characters be happy. What do you mean I'm the same? (Shoves angsty fanfic behind my back) I have no idea what you're talking about.
But on the subject, I am so confused about where I stand on this. Like, I want him to win so bad because my boy deserves it, but like... there has been no conflict this season aside from Bea who vanished a while ago, so losing would hit hard. And serve as a nice segway into SV anime. I want him to win, it would be epic as all hell, but also the angst of losing? Is there no way to have both? JN is all about breaking tradition despite its poor execution, so I want a choose your ending lol.
You got me on the first half, ngl. I was ready to get anxious lmao No anon, I don't want him to be sad.....I want him to feel anxious, insecure, guilty, desperate, defeated- but yes sad in sintesis.
I normally wouldn't want him to lose, he deserves everything. But both from a logistic and emotional point....it would be better if he did. Like image how POWERFUL it would be if executed right-not only on Ash himself but on his surrondings- showing all of Ash's friends after years....only for to see him lose?-
-lemme go full fanfic real quick cause I like angst and apparently, so do you-
image little Bonnie and Max crying on their respective's siblings's arms, Delia and Burnet tearing up at the sigh of their little ray of light losing like that as Lei looks up at his mom all confused- Dawn "daiyobuu, daiyobuu" at a tearful Piplup as she herself smiles through her tears; Paul leaving the room as Regi asks him if he doesn't want to see the closure ceremony, getting a lone "what for?" in response; the Alolians slowly lowering their "champion" signs, image all the POKEMON both in the ranch and in Alola, lowering their ears/heads as Tracey tries to give a comforting pat to a tearful Bayleef, Rowlet comforting an teary eyed Melmetal (he can get tear-eyed trust me) as Gladion's lycaroc pets an whining Dusk doggo, the RELEASED pokemon like Greninja, Nagadeel, Nebby, Squirtle, etc FELT something went wrong cause even through the distance their hearts are with Ash's, so they do that anime thing where they stop what they were doing to look with concern over their shoulder; Gary who just recently got back home in time to watch his bestie perform simply pats Infernape on the shoulder and whisper a little "He has come a long a way, but still...." and speaking of bittersweet reactions, Brock and Misty met to watch it together (he went to her gym cause he is a sweetie and knows of her schedule) and share this looks that is all "we are proud of how much our lil bro had progressed (that is how I see the trio's dynamic) but....darn" (if they were allowed to swear you know Misty would utter an "fucking hell" with a smile, but with tears on the corner of her eyes); Cilan and Iris also got together to watch it, he wanted to cheer her up too, after all. Welp, his job just got doubled. Back in Alola after the initial shock is wear down Kiawe lets out a "tsk" thing and kicks a nearby table, being scolded by Lana....because he didn't kick it hard enough, and proceed to do so herself. "Should we stop them?" utter Principal Oak toward his stellar teacher, who simply shakes his head with eyes hidden by the brim of his cap (heh, like father like son) he also, wants to kick the stupid table. Like the two mentioned older siblings, Gladion is also comforting his younger sister, but albeit a bit more awkwardly since one, he is not used to it and two, he also wants to kick the table. Mallow sadly at a cake she made as a present for Ash as they were planning an Alola surprised after the M8- well, it could be used as an consolation price, she guessed. Serena is about to enter a new contest, dress and all, but stopped to watch the match on the TV of the hall and was called for it shortly after it ended- despite her best attends to smile, she knew she couldn't bring her 100% that day. Back in the stadium, with Goh in tears, Hop is looking at the stadium, pussled, Goh tries to be polite and congrats him for his brother victory but "He....doesn't look too happy about it" and he is not.
I seriously need to put this on fanfic format

“(far less likely) they’re hiding new accessories and using the older / familiar designs to keep it a surprise.” Thank you for giving me some hope. Also I’m in love with idea of them having sun and moon pendants, extremely fitting. I hope they do Alain justice as he deserves and don’t give in to some dedicated haters. Also hopefully after this, the butthurt ash greninja fans can relearn how to be nice to other people & not harass official artists in their posts just bcuz their fav lost 6 yrs ago
Thank you, but don't hold onto that hope too tightly, because I really don't think it's likely, haha. I really think the most likely answer is they just didn't want to bother designing new accessories and just used the old designs instead, but I would love to be wrong . . .
And thank you! I've had the headcanon about the pendants for years now. The specific designs are that Lizardon has a half-sun pendant with the Charizardite X, while Alan has a half-moon pendant with the Key Stone. The two would link together to create a full circle. They were given to Alan as a gift from Professor Sycamore in this fic (which was written before the Flare arc concluded and thus a lot of it was jossed), as a way of reclaiming the Key Stone and Charizardite, as well as serving as birthday gift for the missed birthdays. My friend @somegiantmess also drew the pendants once (drawing from a scene from another fic of mine) if you'd like to see them visually, too:
Tumblr media
If only TPCi had contacted me, I 100% would have given them permission to use these pendant designs in the series, albeit with a few stipulations (e.g. give me a spot in the credits, don't treat Alan as a pawn to make Ash look stronger / make the shitty people in the fandom happy), but alas. 'Twas not meant to be. :(

The 2010s Decade of PokéAni (An overview - Part 2 of 2)
← Continuing on from the first half of this PokéAni 2010s overview....
2015: Serena cuts her hair to chase a dream
Tumblr media
February 12, 2015 Serena’s character arc had a rocky start with her not really sure what to do after becoming a Pokémon trainer meeting her Fennekin for the first time. I was really excited when her character was first announced, but I wanted to like her more than just being “that pretty girl who has a crush on Ash”. Maybe it’s because I’m not that shippy of a person, nor a romantic type of guy whatsoever but I didn’t want a main character to just be defined as a potential love interest. With her development slowly leaning towards a clear goal on wanting to become a top Pokémon Performer, I was happy she was finally carving her own path. However it was this specific episode that marked a major turning point for her ambitions, and made me truly invest in the new and improved Serena.
Tumblr media
It was finally Serena’s debut as a Pokémon performer competing in her first Pokémon Showcase in Coumarine City, along with her friend, rival, and fellow-performer, Shauna. The performers in this showcase are divided into groups, and only one from each group gets to move on to the next round. Going into the first round, Serena was nervous yet confident. It was a Pokémon styling contest, and Serena put a lot of care and effort into making Fennekin look as cute and gorgeous as possible. But maybe it was a bit too much...
Tumblr media
As they walk down the runway showcasing Fennekin’s fashion, everything went well and both were having a great experience in their first showcase...until something terribly went wrong. Fennekin accidentally trips over its ribbon while walking the runway which ends up scattering all the decorations Serena had styled over her. She made a crucial mistake in making the ends of the ribbon too long, thus costing them the round and ultimately eliminated her from the competition. Shauna was able to advance from her her group easily, and all Serena could do now was watch the rest of the competition from the stands. Shauna ended up winning the Showcase and her first Princess Key. It was devastating defeat going into your first performance having to lose like that. On the outside, she tried to put up a good face for her friends comforting Fennekin and even congratulating Shauna on her first victory.
Tumblr media
But in the inside, she was grieving and blames herself for not realizing the error she made while styling Fennekin. Even Ash knew that she would be alright all along knowing her strength. The following early morning when no once was watching her besides her Pokémon, she decides to let it all out and break down in front of the ocean. It really broke my heart seeing her crying like that knowing that she really did care about pursuing a performer career. Fennekin and Pancham immediately try and cheer her up as they engaged in a lovely group hug. After understanding the disappointment in defeat, she knew that this was a part of every dream. You can’t be successful without making a couple of mistakes and that it’s okay to cry sometimes to let the bad stress out. No one is perfect, and that same goes for some of Ash’s gym battles or what happened to some of May and Dawn’s contests in the past. It was all part of the process of chasing her newly found dream and Serena finally realized that. It was just the beginning, and she wants to keep going until she gets to Aria. She decides that going forward in this new chapter, there needs to be a change. She got her big scissors out and starts trimming her own hair (for her to do that on the spot without a mirror, she was pretty darn impressive to properly cut her hair like wow lol) as Palermo watches in the distance from her limo. She knew that was the same performer with the tripping Fennekin. It’s possible she saw potential in her that early. Serena rejoins her friends and surprises them with a new look!
Tumblr media
If you ask me, I like this new outfit of hers way better (and I think girls with shorter hair cuter ^///^). Also you can’t forget about the blue ribbon Ash gave her prior to this, it was a really cute touch knowing that he helped her get stronger through her personal journey as a trainer. Now that’s fitting ;) You know even though it was spoiled early on that she was going to have a redesign, I’m really happy on how they did it and it wasn’t just random day where Serena decides she wanted to cut her hair. I’m no girl, but apparently (I researched this) when a woman cuts her hair shorter, it symbolizes a change or a major life event that has happened. To Serena, it was a major shift in her character after the embarrassing loss. She eventually went on to win future performances evolving her Braxien, and even got to be friends with Aria! Remember, Serena is MORE than just AmourShipping...she is our Kalos Queen <3
Tumblr media
Honorable mentions from this year: There’s a lot to talk about when it comes to 2015 PokéAni. Ash had 4 gym battles that year, including his battle with Clemont which I was very hyped about. To the point of him temporarily leaving the group to prepare himself at the Lumiose gym, that’s how much he cared about being in the best battling shape for Ash. There was that infamous “date” episode that Ash & Serena had, Meowth & Bonnie being stuck together, Cosplay Pikachu everywhere, Trevor trying to get a picture of a Moltres, and the debut of Sawyer, the Treeko trainer who was fascinated by Ash. One of my personal favorites too was when Bonnie wanted to ‘keep’ a Tyrunt/Tyrantrum (matched her pajamas too :3) she helped and befriended but unfortunately already had a trainer </3 It was a year of a couple of catches like Ash’s Noibat, Serena’s Eevee, Clemont reminiscing the time he caught a Bunnelby, and of course the lost Goomy. Within months after Ash caring for the Goomy, he was able to evolve it to a Goodra but had to leave it behind when they finally found its homeland it had to watch over with a Floette. We got two more Mega Evolution Specials before it merges with the main anime the following year, but we did get start of the XY&Z arc where Ash’s (then) Frogadier would fulfill a prophecy to save Kalos from a great danger. When they met up with Sanpei in the Ninja Village, Frogadier would finally evolve into Greninja. It would be the year when Team Flare would initiate their plans, attempting to capture all the Zygarde cores. There was one specific Zygarde core that Bonnie was able to befriend and bring it along with them naming it Squishy/Puni-chan. If you thought 2015 was awesome, wait until what PokéAni does in 2016!
2016: Gym Leaders assemble - the last line of defense
Tumblr media
September 15, 2016 The fallout following the Kalos League took a dark turn when Lysandre broadcasts Team Flare’s manifesto to create a new world order, where only the “chosen ones” will join them. Alain, feeling betrayed with Lysandre’s true nature, decides to team up with Ash and the others to take down Team Flare. Lysandre’s gone mad, and even Malva thinks that this is too much. On other side of the story, Mairin with Serena, Professor Sycamore, and Hoenn League Champion Steven, rescued Chespie/Hari-san from Lysandre Labs.
Tumblr media
While all the chaos is going on outside, Clemont reclaims the Lumiose Gym from Xerosic at the cost of terminating his good ol’ Clembot/Citroid assistant he invented for the Gym. I can’t remember how sad I was on robot’s death and nearly cried on it...they really made this scene heartbreaking for Clemont to push that shut down button. You can see the bot’s loyalty towards him volunteering to sacrifice himself for the greater good. But thanks to their bravery, Team Flare no longer controls one of their Zygarde (Z2). Squishy was also able to show its true form (50% so far) when it called upon the other Zygarde cells under Team Flare’s control, but thanks to Bonnie’s bond with it, she was able to breakthrough that mind control by singing Puni-chan’s song (don’t think the dub has an actual name for their version) she often sings when they’re together. The development Bonnie had with Squishy throughout this whole arc was fantastic, because it gave her more responsibility and sense of friendship even after Squishy was under the control of Team Flare destroying every thing. This was her own trial to prepare her for what’s to come when she eventually becomes an official Pokémon trainer and own an overpowered Zygarde in the future xD. Squishy also trusted Bonnie as a human it can rely on.
Tumblr media
With Team Flare looking to be defeated, there was one more threat looming over Kalos. What was that threat? A ROCK. But no ordinary rock, it was The Giant Rock (Meaglith) that Lysandre created based off Primal energy form a beast like creature similar to Zygarde’s 50% forme. It was his last ditch effort in creating a new world, and we have never seen anything this catastrophic from an evil boss since probably Cryus. The Zygarde-like rock beast even absorbed Mairin’s Chespie which makes it even more difficult for them to stop it. It’s destination was the Anistar City Sundial to trigger a massive explosion that could destroy Kalos and the world! Everyone joins up to stop this calamity from happening, but is their strength with Mega Evolution enough to bring it down?
Tumblr media
Then, the epic back-up finally arrives! The whole Kalos crew is here with Champion Diantha uniting all the Gym Leaders (minus Clemont/Clembot) within the region. They even got their own solo introductions. This never happened in the previous regions of the anime, where the Gym Leader would just appear once battling with Ash, but in here they interjected themselves to the Zygarde’s story arc. This really reminded me of what happened during the climax of the Black & White games, where the Gym Leaders joined forces to stop Team Plasma. But this isn’t Unova, this is Kalos, and this is their last line of heavy defense against Lysandre! With 2 League Champions, a Blaziken Mask, Ash-Greninja, Z2′s army of cores, and 7 Gym Leaders, this Giant Rock wont stand a chance! When Zygrade finally reached its 100% forme, it uses Core Enforcer to end Lysandre’s evil plot once and for all (RIP him btw). From Steven Stone’s assistance, to Clembot’s sacrifice, to Team Rocket’s aide, and Diantha leading the region’s top gym leaders, this was an epic way to end the XY&Z saga with. For them saving Chespie, and bring back peace to Kalos.
Tumblr media
Honorable mentions from this year: The closing year for the Kalos ended in epic fashion before taking flight to Alola. Who could forget the episode where Serena wore or should I say cosplayed as Ash? She even almost got to a dance with him during Monsieur Pierre’s party. She wasn’t able to, but at least got to evolve her Eevee into a Sylveon! Clemont also had a new bride that Bonnie wasn’t too fond of (despite her asking multiple ladies to ‘keep’ for him) when her jealousy kicks in. Ash’s Noibat also evolved into Noivern, and briefly reunited with Goodra. Serena got all her Princess Keys needed to compete in the Pokémon Showcase Master Class, and even went head to head with Kalos Queen Aria for her title! She was unsuccessful, but it still won’t stop her from getting better. It was also the official birth of Ash-Greninja when he had a battle with the Kalos Champion, Diantha! Ash finally meets our Mega Evolution protagonist Alain and gained a new rival for the League. Before the Kalos League, he struggled a bit with getting his final badge from Wulfric eventually perfecting Ash-Greninja. In the Kalos League, he had a great battle with Sawyer (who can now use Mega Evolution), but came up short against Alain in the finals. It was a loss everybody was bummed about, and it would take another 3 years for him to compete in another league...we’ll get to that :> But the farewells were unforgettable. Greninja had to be let go in order to destroy the reappearing roots with Squishy and Z2 protecting Kalos from further calamity. And I know y’all can’t forget about the ‘kiss’ heard around the world when Serena leaned in for her parting gift to Ash <3 Him and Clemont have one final battle (just like how the XY series started) before heading back to Pallet Town...”And to our own way”. But 2016 had to end on a happy note, where we see Ash finding a new home in Alola enrolling in their Pokémon School program. Upon arriving, he was blessed with a Z-ring from Tapu Koko, an Alola deity, because he saw something in our boy. Through his class he made 5 new friends, got a Rotom Dex, a little Rowlet birb chilling in his backpack, and meeting a feisty Litten. WHAT. A. YEAR. !!!
2017: Stoutland’s final days with Litten
Tumblr media
April 6, 2017 In possibly one of the most depressing and emotional episodes the Pokémon anime has to offer, the wild Litten that always stole Ash’s food finally gets to be apart of his team. But what made this little kitty finally gave Ash a chance to train it after escaping him so many times when he tried to reach out to it?
Tumblr media
Ash tried to help the loyal Stoutland Litten was living with after following it from stealing his groceries, but due to Stoutland’s old age and declining health, there wasn’t much Nurse Joy could do. The tree shots with the falling leaves throughout the episode pretty symbolize the time Stoutland has left.
Tumblr media
Litten, bringing back his mentor to their old spot after spending the night at the Pokémon Center, still wanted to spend as much time with Stoutland and master the Fire Fang move it was trying to learn. Then the leaves were out, and the finals days of this Stoutland were up. Litten slept with his friend one last time, and even had a dream of Stoutland attempting to chase after it going off in the distance. This symbolizes Stoutland’s departure from being under its care.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t directly shown, nor mentioned, but it is clear to me that the Stoudland had passed away. *sobs* The gloomy rainy weather, and the dark tone shown during this part of the episode signifies the sadness and mourning every character that was involved during Litten’s struggle to find help for its good ol’ friend, not immediately realizing that Stoutland was gone for good. Meowth tried to communicate with his fellow feline to understand what it was feeling, while Ash even spends the entire duration of the rainfall with Litten even though it refused his food offer many times and didn’t want his help. This definitely took me into a feels trip because it is rare for this anime to even do an episode about a death of a Pokémon, even though it was indirect with how they presented it. Not mention, every time I was on my Stoutland ride Pokémon when playing Pokémon Moon (to help detect hidden items), ridding the big doggo always made me think about this particular episode. ;_;
Tumblr media
Eventually the rain stopped, and a rainbow bloomed in a distance that made Litten feel better remembering the good memories it had with Stoutland. Finally, Litten decides to give Ash a chance, but didn’t want his pity over what happened. Litten was a tough little cat and wanted Ash to earn its respect through battle. Litten finally joins Ash’s team after battling with Pikachu and successfully catching it. Ash was also able to feed Litten after accepting it as its trainer. This was probably what Stoutland would have wanted for Litten.
Tumblr media
Stoutland knew what kind of trainer he was and wanted Litten to go with Ash to finish the training they started. Besides mastering Fire Fang, they did a lot more in the future to come. When Litten saw the rainbow and familiar cloud formation, both smiled in peace. Stoutland knew that Litten was in very good hands. The memories learning and training with Stoutland are never forgotten, as Litten embarks on a new journey with brand new friends and a caring trainer.
Tumblr media
Honorable mentions from this year: The first fully fledge year of Alola! Ash owning the first discovered Dusk Lycanroc in the anime verse, Lana getting her own Z-ring and how can I not forget Brock and Misty’s (especially MISTY) big return to the anime when the class went to Kanto! We had new Pokémon caught added to the main cast such as the birth of Lillie’s Snowy/Shiron, James’s touchy Mareanie and Kiawe’s Alolan Marowak. It was Gladion’s debut year becoming Ash’s new rival. Ash’s Z-Crystal collection kept on growing bigger through his adventures in Melemele and Akala Islands, and even clears its respective grand trials. We were also introduced to a little Cosmog turned Solgaleo, Nebby. The bad guy in Faba to steals Nebby however to summon, an Ultra Beast (Nihilego) that would eventually consume Lusamine (just like in the games, only she is less obsessed here). Thus, a Z-Powered ganbaLilie was born to save her mom! With the help of her brother and friends of course. We had family matters like Sophocles thought he was moving a way for good, and fun little fillers like the pancake and Charjabug races, or raving with an Alolan Dugtrio blonde wig. A personal favorite of mine was when Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio had mini-adventure of their own, and outsmarted Team Rocket nasty schemes. Speaking of Team Rocket, we got a short glimpse of them versus a trio of Team Skull members. Kukui’s class activities like the baseball teams, camping outdoors, switching Pokémon partners with fellow classmates for the weekend, and sleeping over at the professor’s house were awesome too! Their field trip seeing the beautiful white-colored Aether Paradise, and traveling through the mysterious Ultra Space were treat as well. We got to see the development of Kukui and Burnet’s pre-married relationship, which wasn’t featured in the games…AND WE GOT A PROPOSAL AND WEDDING OUT OF IT! There’s a reason for the animation change, and to be honest I’m happy that they did! The art style definitely fits the tone and theme of the jolly Alola region. In conclusion, 2017 was a pretty cool year if you ask me!
2018: The People of Alola vs. Necrozma
Tumblr media
September 13, 2018 The conclusion to the Poipole/Necrozma arc is probably the biggest highlight for this year. In Japan, this marked a major end of an era because this was also the final episode on a Thursday night (for 20 years!) since the series was officially moving to Sundays starting with the episode after this (~pika ;3).
Tumblr media
From Gladion joining the Ultra Guardians, to Team Rocket’s Matori Matrix attempting catch a fused Necrozma, to Nebby returning to assist with the mission, to rescuing and healing a weakened Lunala, to visiting Poipole’s home world and hear a Naganadel talk in their minds…I’m at the edge of my seat! The Masked Royal’s identity was first exposed here too when Faba fought alongside Kukui to ward off the Matori Matrix. Luckily Faba can keep a secret. The whole time this arc felt like it could be one Pokémon movie. This should probably make-up for why there really isn’t an Alola region based Pokémon movie for this series specifically. But going back on topic, the entire region of Alola was still in crisis as Necrozma absorbs all the Z-Power the Ultra Guardians tried to strike back with. At this point, Nebby was already fused with the Necrozma and they knew that they had to separate them just like what happened with Lunala. So what does everyone do in a time like this? UNITE! Not just the Guardian deities, not just the Ultra Guardians, not just the Aether Foundation, not just the Kahunas participating in the Manalo Festival, but Alola as a whole teamed up in various locations where citizens swarmed together and gave their “light” by doing Tapu Koko’s pose to bring Necrozma back to its original form, The Blinding/Radiant One! Nebby has been freed, and rejoins the Ultra Guardians.
Tumblr media
In one last Ultra stand, Nebby (with Ash holding Solganium Z) and Lunala (with Gladion holding Lunalium Z) gave one final blow to Necrozma with some Ultra Aura. After unleashing the combination of Z-moves, Ultra Necrozma rises from the light and uses its power to restore all the damage that has been done to Alola, thus ending the chaos ensuing in the region. The Matori Matrix did try to go to Ultra Space when an Ultra Wormhole opened, but Tapu Koko was like “not so fast!” eventually forcing this Team Rocket unit to retreat.
Tumblr media
Not only did they save Alola, but also brings back light to the Poipole home world. Of course the most emotional thing out of all this was saying goodbye to our little sticky Poipole friend who had remain in its home world. It left its home world to find a better home, and it did when Ash gave Poipole a spot in his team and is even an official member of the Ultra Guardians squad. Now that the home world has been restored, Poipole knew it needed to stay and protect its original home from further threats. As the Ultra Wormhole closes with Nebby and Lunala accompanying the Ultra Guardians back to Alola, Poipole painted Ash & Pikachu’s face as a sweet goodbye gesture. The flashback scenes, and the music in the end was absolutely magnificent to top it all off! This teary goodbye even had me tears. We’ll forever “like, like, love” you, Poipole <3 Maybe Ash will see it again one day...oh who am I kidding xD If you’re up to date with the anime, you know already what happens in the future ;]
Tumblr media
Honorable mentions from this year: The year of Ultra Guardians! They’ve had multiple missions in bringing back the Ultra Beasts to where they came from.  Anime debuts of Ilima, Mina, and the long-awaited Hau make their respective appearances. We also got to see James “fighting” a Toxapex, Lana & Mallow’s childhood past, Lillie getting her first Z-Crystal and even Rotom Dex joining the set of Detective Laki. There were significant evolutions like Ash’s Litten evolving to Torracat starting its rivalry with Masked Royal’s Incineroar (while Burnet fangirls over them) and Mallow’s Steenee evolving to a Tsareena. And how can I forget Sandy/Nagisa? Those Eevee mini-specials ultimately led it to Alola for our great Lana to catch! The Ula’ula trials were highly significant too when Ash trained with Acerola and tested his strength against Kahuna Nanu. Specials include Mallow’s big brother visiting home, and the 2-parter with Dia and his Zeraora in the mysterious Ultra Ruin. For Team Rocket, they temporarily get an Alolan Meowth, but got a permanent family member with a Stufful later on (Bewear’s child!). I’ve gotta mention the fun ones too like Ash dressing up as a female nurse the class helping Nurse Joy at the Pokémon Center, the class making their own school play, and Faba accidentally shrinking Ash, Lillie & Sophocles. Finally, in another emotional themed episode, Molayne showed everyone the beauty and sad reality of the Minior Pokémon at the Hokulani Observatory. Such a strong theme of having precious memories with a sad outcome due to the nature of that certain Pokémon :( Just look at the variety! I could still go on, but in summary was 2018 one heck of an ULTRA year!
2019: Ash wins the Alola Pokémon League 🏆
Tumblr media
September 15, 2019 In the last highlight of this 2010s decade, it may probably be the biggest one. Ash vs. Gladion. Pokémon League finals to determine the first ever champion of Alola. I’ve already made several posts about this (maybe one too many) in my blog, so let me quickly reiterate the significance of this special event one last time. First thing I have to mention, is that Ash’s rivalry with Gladion has been amazing from the get-go. From their first meeting at the beach by Kukui’s place with a feisty Rockruff that wanted to battle, to the Manalo Stadium battling for a prestigious championship title with Ash’s Lycanroc fully controlled over its rage with dirt. It wasn’t a traditional full 6-on-6 battle, but the 3-on-3 showdown still gave us one heck of battle! It may not be considered the best battle of all time, but it was still an amazing and fun match between two trainers who promised each other to meet in the finals of the big stage since the start of the League.
Tumblr media
The laugh they shared, the flashbacks that was shown to us (with the awesome Type: Wild! music playing in the background), and their storytelling on who wants the W more makes you invested, and cheering for Ash all the way to finally win a major Pokémon League. Ash’s newly evolved Melmetal showcased it’s new strength but still wasn’t able to beat Gladion’s Silvally. Then, when Zoroark and Pikachu knocked each other out, it was the 1v1 Lycanroc battle that really put this friendly and competitive rivalry full circle.
Tumblr media
Ash has NEVER defeated Gladion…until this moment. He’s been training for this, and it finally paid off. The two Lycanroc’s took no prisoners and went back and forth with one another. In the final blow of that match, Gladion’s Lycanroc used Counter against Ash’s Lycanroc that was charging towards it, but then our big brained hero fights back with their own Counter attack.
Tumblr media
Never have I heard of countering a Counter in the Pokémon universe, but using it in this one moment nobody expected, was a perfect opportunity to swerve fans with Ash almost losing the match but ultimately gave the hypest and sickest counterattack ever that would knock out Gladion’s Lycanroc to the wall. And for the first time since the Orange League, Ash is a Champion. Only this time it is a way bigger deal! Mostly because this is a game-based series which has more meaning when it comes to the Pokémon League. He proved non-believers wrong thinking that the Kalos League was the closest he’ll ever get to victory, but I always knew he would win this one since this League started. If you look at my Twitter, I predicted it since last July and this is speaking from a person that DIDN’T believe he would have won at Kalos (I must be good at League predictions then lol). But even Ash himself couldn’t believe it. The moment his named was announced the victor and everyone cheering him, it took a moment for him to process it all until he realized he won the whole shabang. Old fans, new fans, and casual viewers a like were buzzing within 24 hours after this episode released in Japan that caught mainstream media attention. People who have never seen a Pokémon anime episode in their life (or a subbed episode for that matter) past the original series, wanted to see how this episode went down to see a childhood hero achieve a major trophy.
Tumblr media
This is how big of a pop-culture icon Ash & Pikachu was among many generations of fans since the show’s launch internationally. To me personally, it was the reason why I’ve always watched this anime for years since 1998 as a kid and NEVER stopped watching (took a few breaks here and there growing up but still have been consistent and up to date! Never grew out of it whatsoever ...why would I even made this decade post?). I was waiting all that time for him to win the big one and he finally did it in 2019. The long journey was worth watching all those episodes (NEVER skipped a “filler”). I doubted at times, but deep down I know I always believed. I grew up with Ash and he feels like an imaginary brother. Seeing him hold that trophy felt like my childhood had closure. He became the FIRST EVER champion in the Alola anime-verse and no one can take that away from him. BUT, the journey isn’t over yet. Remember, his dream is to become Pokémon MASTER, NOT a CHAMPION which people often treat the two as the same. He probably still wants to go to more places, so he can get stronger and be friends with even more Pokémon. Finally, I’m glad that it was Gladion who was Ash’s opponent in order to get the title. The boys and the doggos shake hands in the end as sign of respect for one another. Unfortunately, Guzzlord had to ruin the closing ceremony afterparty…but our Alola Champion and his friends were able to take care of that properly :)
Tumblr media
Honorable mentions from this year: Another marked an end of an era, but a start of a new one too! From overcoming his final Grand Trial and gathering his Z-Crystals, Ash was ready for the League. If you ask me, this was one of the best Pokémon Leagues ever because of how much importance each competitor played a role in that tournament, and the match-ups were good. It wasn’t just filler characters or last minute rivals. Alola had a lot of great characters! I couldn’t stress that enough. But besides the historic Alola League, we also saw the continuation of Brock & Misty’s trip to Alola, the class’ crash-course golf lessons with none other than Kahili! Ash catching a rare Meltan that appeared out of nowhere, Guzma’s debut that EVERYONE was excited about, Ash challenging Ryuki’s Kantonian Gym, Lana’s fully evolving Primarina (thanks to hooking a Kyogre mind you!), Mallow’s meal for Tapu Koko, and Matori’s unexpected visit to the Team Rocket base in Alola. Ash even time-traveled to the past and met Kukui when he was little. It would ultimately build up to the actual final full 6-on-6 battle between Ash faces Kukui (just like in the original Sun & Moon games), and it was a 5-STAR BATTLE in my book for this 5-PARTER battle. Seriously, they didn’t had to make an exhibition match that good but they did, and Ash WON that too! Ash’s Incineroar evolved and Pikachu finally defeats Tapu Koko in a battle. For the feels portion of this year, Mallow briefly reunited with her mom and getting a Shaymin to care for in the process. The whole side-arc with Lillie, Magearna and a missing Mohn had a huge impact on our young miss. She got a Z-Ring out of it, just like everyone else in the class with their respective focus. And, the final episode of Sun & Moon was probably the most emotional farewell episodes in the anime’s history similar (or even greater) than Brock & Misty’s goodbye in Johto for you nostalgia fans out there. Everyone in the Alola crew knew what to do post-League, but for Ash, he wanted to explore the Pokémon world more, which transitions to the new on-going series today. 2019 of the Pokémon anime will never be forgotten!
LET’S GO to the 2020s and beyond!
We already got a taste of what the new series brought us late 2019, from Pikachu’s pre-series background story to our newly appointed research fellows, Ash & Go. It is was Lugia brought these two together, and are now living under the same roof. And with Go having his newly caught Scorbunny by his side after that Gigantamax Snorlax incident, it shows us a little taste of the cool new adventures await them when traveling in the Galar region. It’s also refreshing to see updated animation within Kanto where they’re home base is at, and I absolutely cannot wait for them to go back to other past regions with this fresh new art style. With Go’s goal to catch every Pokémon there is for him to index, he’s bound to meet Mew again one day! He’s literally every Pokémon games’ protagonist and I’m glad we have a main character like him who actually focuses on catching them all. As for Ash, he’s still our Ash carving his own unique path on his continuing journey to become a Pokémon Master because it’s more than being the strongest trainer and more than just catching Pokémon.
Tumblr media
Some people may not be invested in this series yet, but it’s okay as it is still new! Everyone has that “pacing is slow” excuse from EVERY anime series, or it may not just be your cup of tea. But, I’m sure it will definitely pick up the pace sooner or later especially with the upcoming episodes announced (as of this posting) getting a Koharu-focus episode and the debut of Galar Champion Leon facing off against another League Champion...the return of Lance! Now that’s hype...and that’s what I’m looking forward to in this series more returns and cameo appearances hopefully. They gotta make it special of course and not just some fan-service to please series-specific fans. Oh, and Ash competing in the Galar gym challenge too of course! In addition to that, we can look forward to the new movies in the 2020s! We already got a preview of the 23rd PokéAni film, Pokémon the Movie - Coco...so we Tarzan now?! and it looks like they’re still continuing the AU-verse Ash instead of using the canon series’ universe. I mean if The Power of Us was great, you gotta give this movie a watch too! This is what I love about the anime because it separates itself from their game counterparts. The anime is doing its own thing with their original stories to tell.
WOW! What a decade. I’ve put in a lot of time reminiscing my experience watching the anime this past decade on these 2-part posts, and I had a lot of fun. From being a high school student all the way to being a full-time working adult...time truly flies by quickly. If you’ve read everything I had to say (I’m sure there are a few typos I probably missed), then thank you for your time (and sorry for the dash spam lol)! Feel free share your own favorite PokéAni moment decade in the replies if you choose to do so. Also, check out the strawpolls I made for what you think the best Pokémon anime battle and movie is in the 2010s. Now, it’s time for us to GO to 2020 and the next decade of PokéAni to witness multiple generations of new Pokémon series to come (hopefully they’ll still be making them by the end of 2029...and your boy P J will still be watching as a 30+ year old adult, heh). Alrighty, let’s have some fun! ϞϞ(๑⚈ ․̫ ⚈๑)∩

Short Mewtwo fic/drabble thing. Contains Detective Pikachu spoilers. (listen the DP Mewtwo is the same one from Mewtwo Strikes back they’re the same dang it)
AO3 link will be in a reblog to avoid the tumblr algorithm murdering me
“Don’t cry, Mewtwo. You should be happy. You’re alive, and life is wonderful.”
Life is wonderful, they remember, even if they don’t know how, don’t remember who said this to them, don’t know where this thought came from.
Life is wonderful, they repeat. Life is wonderful, but… why?
They know nothing, nothing but an empty ocean, nothing but the vague sense of nothingness. They wonder if they even are alive at all.
Then the sensations get stronger. Voices – other voices – get louder. They want to know what this is all about. They want to exist. They want to live.
They push this feeling, this desire to be, outward, and can hear the shattering of glass, the gushing of liquid from its containment. They land in the remains of the container that had kept them suspended, disoriented.
But then there are others speaking to him. These – these people, humans, scientists, refer to them as Mewtwo.
Two. As in copy, clone. Not original. Not even a pure copy. An amalgamation of Mew’s DNA, and changes that suited the scientists’ needs.
This… cannot be their destiny. This isn’t right. This isn’t what it should be.
(They can picture mountains and lakes, the sun and the moon, freedom, in their mind’s eye. They do not know where these images come from, only that they exist, and Mewtwo wants.)
They unleash their fury on the scientists. It is a confusing fury, they reflect later, after the lab is nothing but ruins and ash. They are angry with the scientists for not caring, for only seeing them as an experiment. They are furious that they have been brought into this world, a copy of something so great and pure. They are upset about even existing in the first place.
But then a new man arrives, promising partnership, and Mewtwo is too naïve and curious to refuse.
This turns out to be a mistake.
Humans, Mewtwo reflects, cannot be trusted. Giovanni attempts to control them, subdue them, and use them. Mewtwo will have none of it.
They destroy another prison, and flee. They could go and live in the wilds, avoiding humans and just… exist.
But their righteous fury has reached the breaking point.
(Life is wonderful, someone tells them. You’re alive, and life is wonderful.)
Life is not wonderful. Life is cruel, life is betrayal, life is torture and subjugation. Life, maybe just human life specifically – life is just evil. Humanity is evil.
This revelation, this decision, spurs them to that first lab, the place of their creation. Humans wanted to play with forces they didn’t understand? Fine. Mewtwo would show them what happens as a result of their narcissism and entitlement.
It takes several months, but they reactivate the cloning facility that birthed them, and get to work.
They have cloned other Pokémon, now, and are ready to show humanity how superior they are. They are ready to free Pokémon from the subjugation and control of humans.
Mewtwo decides to start by challenging promising young trainers of Kanto to a battle. But only the worthy may come; they plot to brew a storm so only the strongest and most willful can stand in their presence.
The young humans come, with their teams of Pokémon. And Mewtwo challenges them, and defeats them, and takes their strong Pokémon to clone to suit their needs.
But one young human defies logic, defies expectation. This young boy, Mewtwo learns later, is named Ash Ketchum, and he is a human of impulse and heart, compassion and determination. (Years later, Mewtwo will reflect back on how nothing in the world could have prepared them for the unstoppable force that is Ash Ketchum.)
And in the midst of the chaos, there is a familiar yet alien presence. There is someone else, like them, watching.
There is the original. It’s Mew.
Just the sight of them fills Mewtwo with rage.
This pink little kitten is what they originate from? This soft bundle of giggles spawned them, tall and imposing and powerful and angry? This small myth?
They fight. Mew seems unconcerned, despite the effort both are putting into this. Mewtwo never wonders why.
Then that crazy boy gets in the way.
“What are… these?”
“They’re tears. You’re crying.”
“Crying?”
“My daddy used to tell me a bedtime story that when Pokémon are sad, and they cry, their tears are filled with life.”
Mewtwo wipes the memories of the children and their Pokémon after that. They don’t deserve to live with those awful memories, not really. They’re young, and innocent, and naïve. From what Mewtwo has seen, humanity is evil. But it seems that not all humans in the world are bad.
Ash Ketchum proves this when he returns to Mewtwo’s life barely a year later. He saves their life, for no other reason than … he wanted to.
(“Do you always need a reason to help somebody?”)
They don’t wipe the memories of the kids, this time. Mewtwo does make sure to wipe the minds of everyone else, especially Team Rocket’s.
Ash Ketchum and his friends are good. The rest of humanity is… maybe not all evil, then. Mewtwo… can live with that.
“You’re alive, and life is wonderful.”
They realize soon after the irony of their powers. Mewtwo can wipe the minds of humans with ease, but at some point early in their life, someone else erased their memories, and now those memories are only coming back in fragments of words and images. They don’t know who was talking to them, only that… she… is gone.
It’s a bittersweet feeling, to know that someone cared about them, once, when they were young, before they had broken free into the world; but now that person, that little girl, is gone. She’s said goodbye, and she can never come back.
(“It feels… like it’s time… to say goodbye.”
“…Goodbye?”)
Mewtwo puts that in the past. The memories may come, or they may not. But they have their whole life ahead. Maybe they can finally experience the wonder of life now, free as they are.
“I have to go.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know. But it’s alright. Thank you for caring about me. And don’t cry Mewtwo. You should be happy. You’re alive, and life is wonderful.”
(Her name was Amber, they learn ten years later, when they return to New Island and go through old encrypted files that they had ignored in their earlier, angrier quest for retribution. Her name was Amber Fuji, and the scientist that had spoken to Mewtwo – that Mewtwo had likely killed – was her father. Heartbroken by her loss, he turned cold. He’d never cared about Mewtwo. Once Amber was gone, Mewtwo was just an experiment again, nothing more.)
(But Amber had cared about them. And they had cared about Amber, for what brief time they had known each other in that psychic in-between.)
(Mewtwo is alive, and maybe life hasn’t always been wonderful, but it’s been getting better, and they are now determined to make life wonderful, to spite the cruel world, and to honor Amber’s memory as best as they can.)
Twenty years, almost to the day, from when Mewtwo escaped from the people that created them, a man named Harry Goodman finds them.
Harry Goodman has a Pikachu partner, similar to Ash Ketchum. But Harry and his Pikachu are detectives, he explains. They search for clues, find evidence, and solve mysteries. They’ve been hired by scientists hoping to study Mewtwo in order to improve science and medicine – or so he’s been told.
They should be careful, Harry explains, because the humans working at that lab were discredited for malpractice, or uncertified, and gave off a secretive and mistrustful vibe. Harry took the assignment to find Mewtwo because he cared, and didn’t want this Pokémon to be hurt by people in over their heads.
Mewtwo appreciated the sentiment. But curiosity killed the Meowth – or in this case, the Mewtwo.
When the scientists and PCL immediately capture Mewtwo and shove them into a containment unit, Harry Goodman looks upset, but not necessarily shocked. He’d deduced this possible outcome. But as much as Mewtwo wants to know why, what the scientists are after –
They hate being caged. They will not go through this again, not after being free for so long.
The Pikachu fries the circuits, and Harry and Pikachu run. Mewtwo breaks free and follows, but can’t stop the Greninja in time.
Humanity is evil, but not all humans are bad.
The Pikachu wants to save its partner. Mewtwo… they can fix this. The scientists were saying that their psychic energy could merge humans and Pokémon together.
It’s not a perfect fix, but until Harry Goodman’s son can show up, Mewtwo is unable to fully heal the human. So, merging with his Pikachu it is.
And then Tim Goodman arrives, with Harry/Pikachu injured again. Healing Pokémon bodies is easier.
And they try to explain. They can heal Harry Goodman and Pikachu, right then and there – but somehow, the scientists have found them again, and interrupt.
They catch a glimpse in one mind – Howard Clifford wants not only Mewtwo’s powers, but their body. And technology has advanced so much that they just cannot escape.
Tim Goodman shows up alone, confused about which Clifford is at fault. Mewtwo screams at him to run, but then –
– They wake confused, and to a sensation of falling. They’re falling, and falling, and –
Mewtwo barely catches Harry/Pikachu before he hits the ground. They’re still slightly confused, but memories from when they were not in control come rushing back all at once, and they hear Tim asking if they can fix all this.
They can, and they do. Mewtwo fixes everything, sets everything in Ryme City to rights.
Humanity is evil, but not all humans are bad. Now Mewtwo has a small handful of humans that are definitively not evil, and are in fact – good.
That’s a nice feeling. Twenty years ago, fifteen years ago even, Mewtwo would have just fled, and maybe killed more humans than they already had. But to see that not every human is so heartless and self-centered – to see that there are humans out there who care just because it’s the right thing to do, humans who want to help, humans who are just good –
Maybe life isn’t so bad after all.
(If Ash Ketchum wakes to find Mewtwo hovering nearby, looking to talk about all they’ve seen and done and been subjected to after nearly twenty years – well. Who is he to say no?)
(If Tim and Harry Goodman return to their apartment to find Mewtwo curled up on their couch, just wanting someplace warm and cozy and comfortable to sleep without fear – well. Who are they to say no?)
(If Amber Fuji says that life is wonderful – well. Who is Mewtwo to say no?)
The world spins on. Mewtwo is one of the most powerful Pokémon to ever exist – but not the most powerful, as scientists had thought. That’s fine by them.
They still linger on the edges of society – human and Pokémon alike. They don’t really belong, don’t really fit, but that’s okay. They’ll help any in need. They’ll carve out their own place in the world.
Life, Mewtwo thinks, is wonderful, even if they had to wait a while to figure that out. It doesn’t matter how they came into existence. They’ve learned that all that matters is what you do with your life. That’s what determines who you are.
They’re alive, and life is wonderful after all.

Bio:
So, I’ve been into this series for a little over 12 years at this point, and needless to say, it was literally my childhood.  When I turned seven years old, I got my first gaming system -a PlayStation 2- and the first video game I ever owned, Jak 3.
So I fell in love with the game, and I of course sought to own, and play, the whole series (when I was first playing the games, I played the third, fourth, first, and then the second game, in that order).  When I was about nine some things went down that caused me, along with my brothers, to have to move out of state to live with our grandparents, thus forcing me to leave my PS2 behind.
So for about eight years I've been waiting to play the games again, and of course, I lost my mind when I heard that they were being ported to the PS4.  They're literally the only reason I bought a PS4 to begin with! I've played all the games in the series except for Daxter and The Lost Frontier (the latter of which I'd only found out about last December, thanks to Wikipedia), but weirdly enough I couldn’t remember much of anything about the games after a year or two of not playing them (until I started playing them again in December 2017, of course!).
Currently, I’ve completed the whole trilogy, as well as X.  I'm more than open to discuss any of the three, so feel free to chat with me about them!
Sly Cooper Shitposts
Bio:
I got into the Sly series somewhat recently (July 3, 2018).  Since then, it’s been one of my favorite series, and one of the only series I play.  I don’t really have much else to add here, other than this: if you’ve never played these games, either play them or watch a let’s play (play them if you can though).  The entire trilogy can be found on Playstation Now if you have a PS4 and don’t want to hunt down a PS2 and all the games just to play them.
Ratchet & Clank Shitposting
Bio:
Like the Sly games, I got into this series pretty recently (March 26, 2018).  At the time I was looking to try out some PS2-era franchises similar to the Jak and Daxter series, which is why I initially tried these games out.  My first R&C game I played was the 2016 reboot, and while the humor, characters and all that weren’t the best, it was really fun to play and got me wanting to play the older games.  After a couple months or so I played some of the earlier games on PSN (Quest for Booty, Crack in Time, and Into the Nexus) and enjoyed them a LOT more than the reboot overall (mostly CiT though, since although I played QfB I didn’t especially care about it, and I enjoyed the intro for ItN a lot but got bored with it).
Hamilton Shitposts

Bio:
I’ve known about Hamilton since mid-2016 (thanks to a former friend of mine), but I actually kind of hated it for a while, because of said friend (let’s just say that she constantly shoved Hamilton content in my face without properly introducing me to the musical first).
It wasn’t until last December (December 2017) that I finally got interested in the musical.  My brother who lives out-of-state was visiting for the holidays, and he literally blasted Alexander Hamilton and Non-Stop in the house several times during his stay.  After listening to them a few times I actually really liked them (especially Non-Stop), so when I got some free time (sometime on 1/14/18, since of course I still remember the exact day I got into Hamilton), I decided to listen to the whole musical, and I loved it.
Now pretty much all I listen to is Hamilton.  I know I’m going to say this at the end of all these other bios, but seriously, if you want to talk to me about Hamilton, message me.

Bio:
So to start off, I thought I’d just say that I’ve only ever watched the films, but I have read a tiny bit of the comics as well.
I got into the franchise in early June last year (2017) when I saw Guardians 2 with a friend, and let me tell you, I really wanted to see it, despite not caring about the series at all.  If I didn't care about the series at the time, why did I want to see the movie so badly?  Well, let's just say that I only wanted to see it for that sweet, sweet "plot" if you know what I mean. 👀   I also just needed something to distract me at the time, since I had been going through some really difficult stuff around that time (I plan on making a post about what happened at some point, so if I do, then you’ll be able to find it here).  Once it was over I fell in love with the characters, and the franchise overall, since the second film had not only far exceeded my expectations, but it also helped me cope with the bad stuff that had happened to me not too long before.
Feel free to discuss the series with me, since I’m usually more than happy to talk about it.  Thanks in advance!

Favorite Characters (Characters that are crossed out are characters that I don’t like):
Apollo Justice
Bio:
I’ve been into this series for about two... actually, almost three years now! (where has all that time gone?).
My brother actually got me into this series!  I watched him play Rise From the Ashes one night (I think it was somewhere around March 2015), and I was kind of interested in trying it out after that (although I kept my mouth shut about wanting to try it, since I was really self-conscious about trying new things at the time).
I didn’t get to actually play Ace Attorney until mid-June that year, when my brother one day shoved his 3DS in my hands, telling me to play First Turnabout.  After playing through the whole case, I got obsessed, and I was also really excited, since he was going to buy the trilogy for me on our Wii (he didn’t live with us, so he couldn’t let me play the games on his DS).  I didn’t officially get into the series until July 2nd that year, which is when I started playing the trilogy on our Wii.
I completed the first game in three days, and I was obsessed with Ace Attorney for about a year and a half after that (I think that’s the longest that any obsession of mine has ever been my, “Main Obsession”).  I also had a huge overblown crush on Phoenix most of that time (which is surprising in hindsight, since I couldn’t care less about him anymore).
I’m now just a casual fan of the series, and I’m down to discuss Spirit of Justice any time (since it’s my favorite game in the series), but I don’t really care to discuss the others (not usually, anyways).  So anyways, thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my blog!

Bio:
I’ve been into Pokémon for as long as I can remember.  I know that I’ve been into it for at least 13 years, but I feel like I’ve liked it for much longer.
I didn’t start to really obsess over it until the age of 11, after getting Explorers of Sky for my birthday (one of the Mystery Dungeon games).  Once Gen. 5 had started, I only got more into Pokémon.  I mostly collected the cards, but I did also play a lot of Rumble Blast.  And let me just say, I was honestly so into the TCG, that it was kind of unhealthy.
I lost interest in the franchise for a little over a year, starting at the age of 13 (thanks to My Little Pony), but once I stopped liking MLP, I just went right back to obsessing over Pokémon, but with a bit less emphasis on the cards, and more on the games (Who am I kidding?  I was still immersed in the TCG world at this time!  Just, not quite as much as before).
After about a year of being addicted to Pokémon (again), I started to become more of a casual fan of the series, turning my interest towards other things (i.e., Ace Attorney and Steven Universe).
It wasn’t until I started playing Sun (a month after it released) that I started obsessing over the franchise (for the third time).  I became a casual fan again soon after finishing the game, which was somewhere in early March of 2017.
Currently, I’m just a casual fan of the series (aside from my several characters, who I’ve had around for three years at this point).  I can’t really suggest you trying to discuss Pokémon with me, since I am just a casual fan nowadays (Unless if you want to know about my characters I mentioned!).  Thanks for reading!

Ash's Alola Team Predictions
With Rockruff's evolution coming up I couldn't help but think what Ash's full team would be. So I started speculating, and I know none of my guesses are going to be right. It's still fun to try though. Pikachu isn't on the list because Pikachu will never evolve and will have its current moveset for the rest of time (can you imagine the curveball if Pikachu evolved into Alolan Raichu though?)
Litten: I feel like Litten will for sure evolve into Torracat, just because all of Ash's Fire Starters have had at least one evolution. It might evolve into Incineroar, but I'm not counting on it too much, since he had Greninja, who was also a Dark type. It would be nice for Ash to have a Dark type Pokémon that actually used Dark type moves (I was very nicely reminded that Krookodile knew Crunch, but it was switched out for Aerial Ace. If Ash does get an Incineroar, hopefully it learns and keeps a Dark type move).
Rowlet: It'll most likely evolve into Dartrix. The last time Ash had two out of the three Starter Pokémon, they both had full evolutions (Sinnoh), so there's a good chance Rowlet will evolve at least once. I'm not so confident that it'll fully evolve into Decidueye, because for the last 20 years the writers for some reason didn't want Ash to have a Ghost type. But if Ash does get a Decidueye (that actually uses Ghost type moves) I will be beyond happy.
Rockruff: We all know Rockruff is going to evolve this week and a new Dusk Form was recently released for Lycanroc. Pretty obvious which Lycanroc Ash is going to have.
Dewpider: Ash has always had a Water type on his team. Most of the new Water types in Sun and Moon are fish Pokémon, like Wishiwashi and Bruxish. I can't see Ash catching one of those. I'm expecting Guzma to appear in the anime at some point and he has a Golisopod, and Ash already encountered Wimpod without catching one. I feel like the Water type that I can picture Ash training is Dewpider.
Mudbray: Out of the six regions Ash has been to, he's had a Ground type in three of them (Torterra was Grass and Ground). I think there's a possibility that Ash will catch a Mudbray. Also I think it would be super cute if he did.
The following Pokémon I'm pretty sure Ash won't catch, but I wish he would.
Alolan Sandshrew: He's in a region where Pokémon he knows from Kanto are vastly different in Alola. Sandshrew is Ice/Steel. It's been a while since Ash has had an Ice type, and he's never had a Steel type (which is why I'm not holding my breath for this one). Like how he didn't catch a Fairy type in Kalos, he probably won't catch an Alolan version of a Kanto Pokémon. I just think it would be really cool if he did.
Jangmo-o: I'm ninety-nine percent sure this isn't going to happen. Ash caught two Dragon types in Kalos and they both fully evolved. He's probably not going to catch another Dragon type for a while. But I can dream...
Oranguru/Passimian: I know Oranguru is supposed to appear in an upcoming episode, and it's wishful thinking that Ash will catch it. He's never had a Psychic type and I think it would be so neat if he had an Oranguru. But I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen. There's a better chance of Ash catching its counterpart Passimian but he's had quite a few Fighting types in the last few regions (Hawlucha, Pignite and Infernape). Again, I just think it would be really cool and if I could pick out Pokémon for Ash to have, I'd pick these guys.

s3 theory (spoilers ig)
ok so this is concerning the pickup from the s2 finale so like if u havent seen that then scroll on down
ok so i was thinking. ykno that popular theory that cass is gothel’s kid? well lets do some quick maths babey!!
cass says shes 4 years older than rapunzel in keeper of the spire. rapunzel, as we know, is 18, as stated in the original 2010 movie.
that means that within 4 years, gothel and cass split up. gothel had to get her hands on raps, so she must have put cass up for adoption, because according to the fandom wiki (i cannot for the life of me remember when this happened, but i am assuming its true to help this theory out) the crownguard isnt her biological dad.
that being said, i doubt they had her around at the castle for 18 years until raps came home, and im sure there were no other ladies-in-waiting, considering there was no princess. its possible they had one on stand-by for a few years, but i doubt a literal newborn would need a lady-in-waiting.
ladies in waiting are also typically high-rank/noble, and are meant to servants AND companions to royals, so its highly likely that cass was hired within a few days of rapunzel’s return. like the king was probs like “yo crownguard. u got a daughter we can use as rapunzel’s lady-in-waiting lmao” and he was like “yea shore”
so cass is of course like, fuck yeah, i can finally start proving how kickass i am. point being she was hired with no connection to rapunzel at all, and by the end of s2, it had only been about a year since they had met, and while a lot can happen in a year, the opposite is true in terms of trust.
so s1 happens, and so does the majority of s2. then the house of yesterday’s tomorrow happens, and we see her coming out of the door at the end. if you look at the door, it looks like a beautiful forest--suspiciously so, considering it looks strikingly similar to the forest gothel’s tower was in.
so she walks out looking all somber and depressed. could she have seen something about her past? did she see gothel giving birth to her, raising her with love for 4 years, and then suddenly abandon her at some orphanage (and she thinks that hey, maybe her and eugene arent so different after all) to go and kidnap the lost princess that she herself later attended to?
wow. so she went through an awful childhood because of raps? the girl who hasnt been trusting her lately, the girl she serves to, the girl that didnt correct her/dismiss her when she addressed her as “your highness” instead of her loving nickname “raps”? (cue fuck this shit im out)
she finally though being a lady-in-waiting could be her big moment. she could prove she was awesome, that she could lead a squad, that she could protect royalty, but what has she been doing? following orders. being betrayed of trust. being hurt at the hands of the woman shes supposed to devote her life to. and for what?
so no. fuck that shit.
aaaand the finale happens. her destiny? obviously she was put in this position to take the stone for herself to prove how great she can really be. all this time, she was being tested. her courage, her strength, her patience all led her to this very moment.
so the rocks were guiding HER there, but in order to play things off smoothly, the rocks also appeared to be there for raps; it would have been suspicious otherwise. likely, they also hid the fact that there were equally there for eugene, who was meant to take the stone himself as nobody was sure what would happen to rapunzel if he didnt. again, made sense, played smoothly, not suspicious at all. but the deep, dark, motive? eugene and raps were just pawns in the game of CASS’ destiny. they had to be there to 1) help her get there and 2) arouse no suspicion.
well fuck that, raps thinks except more politely because she would never say fuck, because rapunzel’s been betrayed for the third time within a year and honestly she literally she would rather watch paint dry at this point.
luckily, however, eugene still has fight in him, and is like well shit i need to get that damn stone back so we can reunite it with the sundrop, and because rapunzel cant touch it or at least not touch it until its safely in our posession because we dont know what could happen to her, i guess its up to me to save the day, and he yeets to cassandra and the two get in an epic fistfight except its only epic for cassandra because shes as strong as thanos now
so the two fight, raps is probably having a simultaneous heart and panic attack as she watches her boyfriend and best friend killing each other, and wow thats pretty tramautic but we dont need to get into that.
at one point, because this is disney and if raps is the sun then eugene is the moon, eugene is able to call upon the power of the moonstone to defeat cass. it probably somehow merges with him as well as she, but because hes the dark prince and has dark blood, it resonates with him better. maybe it breaks into to pieces; his is about 2/3 of the stone while cass’ is 1/3. eventually, the thirds reuinte and cass is drained of all power, probably unconcious on the ground, and raps, not knowing how to feel, shouts for her. no answer. she whispers eugenes name, and he turns around and his eyes are the brightest shade of blue shes ever seen, and maybe he has a sickass blue streak of hair, but he says nothing, and hes standing over cass’ unconcious form and raps is still scared fucking shitless in the corner. she repeats his name, and he shouts, and hes covered in evil magic, and rocks are spreading everywhere, and maybe some cool ice stuff too idk, and pause.
you know pokemon? ok and you know that Cool Ash Pokemon moment when one of ashs pokemon evolves or learns a new move, and it loses its shit? think pikachu, think infernape, think greninja, think lycanroc. they lose their shit and ash being ash just dashes to them and gives em a big ol hug.
unpause, rapunzel is ash and eugene is ash’s pokemon. hes hurting her but has no control and hes screaming, and shes saying she loves him and shes holding him tight and shes crying and damn its really angsty.
eventually his magic calms down and he slumps to the ground, and hes like half awake and he asks what happened, and rapunzel explains everything, and cass wakes up, and the angst is over because this is disney so we need a happy ending damnit (even though we know cass isnt at their wedding in the future but hey. hey you. shut up. shush.)
so yeah the angst is over and raps explains what happened with cass and the three become friends again and eugene and raps kiss so the moonstone and sundrop are finally united, all three of their destinies have been fulfilled, and the rest of the season is the three of them living life happily and eugene eventually asking rapunzel to marry him!
babey.

One-shot: Guilt
(1506 words)
A/N (which is kinda personal this time): To those who know me it’s no news that my self esteem is below zero most of the time. Yesterday I was feeling that again, but this time it gave me something positive: a fic idea. Somehow, writing this made me feel better. I know some other fics of mine have handled the same topic, but when it comes to Alain, I don’t think we can talk about his mental issues enough. This happens a few months after the TF arc, so platonic!Marisson (though Mairin already has a childish crush). CW for suicidal thoughts.
”Charizard! Flamethrower again!” Alain yelled at his starter Pokémon. They were training for Alain’s upcoming Elite Four challenge, but the trainer wasn’t happy with Charizard’s current performance. The Flamethrower didn’t blast like it did during the Kalos league, and the Dragon Claw didn’t even split the tree Charizard was trying it on.
“Rwrrr!” she turned angrily towards Alain, trying to say she was doing her best and not accepting her trainer’s yelling.
“No! You are not giving up yet! You have done so much better earlier! What’s wrong with you?”
If Charizard had talked human language, she would have given her trainer a long speech about how his behavior reflected in her, but she couldn’t, so she just flied farther from Alain and pretended she didn’t hear anything he said. The fact was that Charizard was not in a worse shape than she had been only a few months ago when she had beaten Ash-Greninja at the Kalos league, but she was sensing that Alain was still feeling bad about everything he had gone through before and after the conference and even debating if he should give up on the entire Elite Four challenge. Those trainers, maybe aside from Malva, who had decided to resign after her history with team Flare was revealed and was now looking for a successor, were good people and didn’t yell at their Pokémon when something went wrong in their lives; or that’s what Alain thought. All of this also affected Charizard and she couldn’t bring out her full power in front of her trainer. However, Alain refused to acknowledge it.
“Mope what you want, that sure will help you get stronger,” he just said to her back.
That was the final straw that broke Charizard’s back, and this time she shot a very powerful flamethrower – towards Alain. Not even once during the time they had known each other had she gotten so mad that she would have attacked her own trainer, but this time she felt it really was the only way to make him wake up and face the reality. He was hurting himself and that hurt everyone around him.
“What?! Why did you?!” I am your trainer!” Alain roared, trying to shake the ash off.
Charizard just shook her head angrily, meaning that she didn’t know where her trainer was, but he sure wasn’t that empty shell that was in front of her.
Alain finally gave up and returned Charizard in her Pokéball. With Charizard, the anger was gone too. Instead, he only felt pathetic and stupid for making even his best Pokémon friend suffer. He thought darkly that even if he by some miracle managed to win the Elite four, he would never deserve to hold a title like that when he acted like this. He sat down and started pulling grass in frustration.
“I. Will. Never. Be. Good. Enough.”
Charizard’s Flamethrower really did wake Alain up to face the reality. He didn’t even notice that after he said those words aloud, tears started pouring down his cheeks.
‘Instead of protecting my important ones, or doing the right choices, I only manage to make even my best friend hurt. They would all be happier if I didn’t exist. Who would even miss me? Maybe Sycamore, a bit, and…’
Suddenly the smell of grass he had been pulling off brought someone in his mind. Someone who loved grass type Pokémon and managed to be happy even during difficult times. Someone who did care about him, even though he didn’t understand why.
Mairin.
She had gone to see a family member just a week ago, but it felt that time had been much longer. No one except the Pokémon and Professor Sycamore were distracting Alain from his dark thoughts now. No one was interrupting his study sessions and calling him out when he withdrew into his shell. Even though her company sometimes got into his nerves, something was definitely missing when she was away. Alain was suddenly wishing she was there with him. It didn’t matter if she just blabbered mindlessly about her new Psyduck shoes; her smile had the power of making Alain feel not everything in this world was wrong.
Alain could hear her voice in his head say: “Pull yourself together and stop blaming yourself for everything! It was not your fault,” but he startled when he suddenly heard her actual voice behind him say:
“Why are you destroying precious grass? Where are your manners?” the red head scolded him, not even greeting him first.
“Mairin! What… How… When did you come there?” the boy asked in surprise.
“Just a minute ago, so you don’t have to worry about me seeing you doing… whatever you’re doing, I guess.”
“Oh… I thought you were supposed to stay with your brother for several weeks.”
“It turned out he had other plans. So I decided to leave early,” Mairin shrugged.
“Oh…” Alain didn’t know what else to say so he simply pulled another blade of grass.
“So… Will you answer to me? Why are you brooding here and ruining Professor Sycamore’s perfectly even grass field?” the girl asked, her hands on her hips, looking like she wouldn’t give up until she’d get an answer.
“I’m not brooding…” the older trainer claimed.
“You so are. Alain, I can see something’s wrong… Please, tell me.”
After a long break, he finally answered: “Fine. I snapped at Charizard. Even though she did nothing wrong.”
“Oh. But you never snap at her,” she pointed out. “There must have been some reason for it?”
“She wasn’t doing the moves with her full power when we were training… but…”
“Yes?”
“I think the real reason for that was that she could sense how I felt.”
“Would you… care to explain what you felt? If you feel like it,” Mairin added, Professor Sycamore’s lesson in consent fresh in her mind.
Alain just stared at the grass in front of him for a long while before finally answering:
“I was… scared. And feeling guilty. Ever since I decided I would take the Elite Four challenge, I felt it was a mistake. After what I did for team Flare… I felt I deserve nothing. I don’t deserve to have such good people and Pokémon as my friends. I particularly don’t deserve to have the status of Elite Four. The guilt that I feel… it doesn’t just go away just like that.”
“I can only imagine. I probably can’t do much to help, but… I know Professor Sycamore would say that don’t keep those thoughts inside you. Talk about them. It doesn’t really matter to whom; to me, to him, to Charizard, to a… Therapist? That’s the correct word, right?” Mairin tried showing that she had learned something during the time with Alain.
“Yes,” Alain couldn’t help but smile a tiny bit. Some things never changed.
“And if I thought you were so awful or that I deserve better friends than you… why do you think I came back? I could have stayed with my brother. But I didn’t.
“Why?”
“Because at this point… it might sound crazy because we have known each other only for about a year, but… you are a part of my family. More than he is. You and I have been through a lot together. And if we stick together, I think we both can learn a lot from each other. That’s what even the Professor says, and he’s always right, isn’t he?”
“I guess so…”
“What I’m trying to say is that you are not alone. Remember how I once followed you from Hoenn to Kalos and even faced the Weather Trio because I wasn’t about to leave you alone there? I would do that again, because I care about you.” She emphasized the last few words, and after considering what she should say next, she continued:
“Besides, don’t forget that I’ve made mistakes too. We all have. Mew, sometimes I think I’m a walking disaster. I can’t even cook anything… Well, that’s not the same as your problem, but my point is that I think that we do deserve each other’s friendship. You can’t convince me otherwise.”
“Mairin…” Alain stopped her ramble, his eyes already brighter. “Thank you. I feel I don’t say it enough. You have helped me more than you probably understand. You are doing it even now.”
“Really?” Mairin looked genuinely surprised at this revelation.
“Yeah. I was having a really rough day, but your… your words made me feel better.”
“I guess I did the right decision by returning then!” Mairin smiled and gave him a quick squeeze. “You might want to apologize to Charizard, though…”
“Huh?” Alain didn’t understand the sudden change of topic.
“You do know you’re still covered with ash, right?”
“Ohhh… I guess you are right,” he looked down at his clothes that were even blacker than normally.
“C’mon, let’s go inside,” she offered her hand and helped him to raise from the ground. As they walked side by side towards the lab, Alain felt that not everything in his life was wrong. And that was a good start.

Bonds;
Tumblr media
Note: this is applicable only for the universe used by Sadist Senpai (beareroftheblueorb | flarekxng) in their Pokemon roleplaying, and should not be considered as anything near canon. As this is for a roleplaying-format, any information here is subject to change and alteration due to outside influences, and does not mean to reflect or force the hand of anyone who roleplays with them.
     With that said…
Archie constantly refers to Bonds, usually between a Human and their Pokemon. It’s a integral part of his culture, given that Hoenn is the birthplace of Mega Evolution. But, as not all bonds are used in reference to people with Keystones, it’s probably worth detailing what the exact definitions of a Bond are.
So what the Fuck is a Bond?
A Bond (also known as a Psychosynethesis Link) is the constant movement of energy from a Pokemon to a Human and back again. It’s a open circuit of energy (and, in some causes, vague thought processes) that affects both Human and Pokemon in a notable manner.
Brain scans of these sorts of Bonds make note of certain synapses firing off in unison, even when only one of the party is stimulated.
Some Humans with a Bond have been noted as having unique abilities related to their Partner, and Pokemon (especially lower level sentients) have been noted as having signifigant increases in Intelligence and Energy Output.
Some Pokemon have also been noted as having a strange understanding of human media, from being able to completely register the concepts of News or Overly Complicated Science Fiction Plots, and their partner Human has been noted as being way more interested in chewie treats.
It’s worth noting that it’s near impossible to sustain more than one Bond for either party, and the force of creating another will snap the prior bond. Plus, people who are bonded tend to have the same lifespan as their Partner, either dying at the same time as them or soon before or after.
   Developing a Bond:
Relationships are relationships, and the process by which a Bond develops is the same as a close relationship. Mutual trust becomes friendship, friendship becomes close friendship, close friendship becomes being Best Friends, and, then and only then, will a Bond form.
It takes quite a bit of time to develop a Bond; it takes years, from ten to twenty on average, but notable examples can bloom after a single year. It’s very rare, yes, but certain very, very powerful individuals have been noted as being quite capable of this.
    Bond Type: Life Partner
Not all Bonds are obvious. Relationships are subtle and beautiful, and these are the sorts of relationships that hold out the longest. These are the Bonds of Ace Trainers and their Star Pokemon, the Bonds of Champions and their Signature Pokemon, and the Bonds of a Old Trainer and their Therapeutic Pokemon.
This is a relation of friendly love that lasts a entire lifetime, and a respect and fondness that is obvious to anyone who looks. These are often found in a Trainer’s first Pokemon, and they tend to lead to any of the following.
Ash and Pikachu are a key example of this. Mr. Briney and Peeko is also a good example.
    Bond Type: Mega Evolution
I don’t think I need to explain this too much, considering that Mega Evolution is Mega Evolution and it’s a stupid fucking canon execution that I absolutely hate and we all know how it works.
It should be worth noting that, in this universe, having multiple Mega Evolution partners is not a thing. Being capable of Mega Evolution means having a Bond, and you cannot have multiple Bonds. That’s how you get burned out and die.
Notable examples of this kind of bond is obvious. Archie and his Sharpedo Notch, Lysandre and Gyarados, Steven and Metagross, Alain and Charizard, etc etc.
    Bond Type: Romantic
Yeah, that should say everything about that Bond that it needs to.
A prime example of this bond is Amber and his Gorybyss, Glory. Archie and Jirachi’s friendship would have grown to this bond, had she, y’know, not been sealed away.
    Bond Type: Religious
This Bond is the bond of Priestesses and Priests to their Chosen Legendary, or a Legendary and their Chosen Host/Herald. Unlike most bonds, this bond is often assumed to exist when it truly doesn’t; religious fanatics tend to think themselves Bonded to their Deity, and said Deity doesn’t tend to give a shit about some wackjob hanging out on a corner yelling at people about whatever the political nonsense of the year is.
In true Religious Bonds, it’s... not a give and take. Those bound to their Deities are often chosen at birth, be it by their Deity's preference or by a bloodline of Religious dedication, and those bound are not often happy with said bond.
In Host situations, the Human is a body for their Deity to use. Their energy is given to their Deity, their life is given to their Deity, and very few die with will and hope left in their frame.
The Aogiri Line has, historically, been used as Hosts for Kyogre (especially in cases where the True Successor is unavailable). And, thus, Archie and Kyogre are key examples of this kind of bond. Other good examples are Zinnia and Rayquaza (willing), Maxie and Groudon (blood. unwilling), and N and Zekrom/Reshiram (willing/chosen).
    Bond Type: Complete Synchronization
This, obviously, is the rarest of Bonds. It’s only been noted in two or three individuals over the entire course of history.
This is the bond that tears down the walls behind humanity and Pokemonity, molding both in mimicry of the other. This bond changes a Pokemon’s form, completely synchronizes a Human and Pokemon’s brainwaves and heartbeat, and often changes a human’s form in turn.
Pokemon with this sort of bond have been noted as being able to learn completely unique movesets, and their Human partners, in turn, have been noted as being able to access some of their Pokemon’s moves in their own body.
Unfortunately, all that power comes at the expense of a lowered lifespan, shared pain, and weird body horror.
Notable examples, and two out of the three examples, of this Bond is Ash and Greninja and AZ and Floette.

Confession #1
I need to express this, before I can’t take it anymore.
Why I said “For me a Pokémon doesn’t exist, until they have appeared in the anime.”?
Answer: That saying it shouldn’t be taken so literal. It’s because, when a New Pokémon is announced, it already exist for me. But honestly, not every Pokémon looks “good” or cause a good first impression, also their artwork doesn’t help at all. It happened to me before in Black and White and X&Y when their respective Pokémon were announced, some of them were goods and others I simply didn’t like them. So for me, the anime is a like a “second chance” to show me, they can be OK and I can have a new critter about them. Also like Serena said in one episode “Why the Pokédex makes they look so agressive and violent?” Refering to the artwork, which is used, when a Pokémon is scanned in the Pokédex.
Also thanks to the anime I started to give love to Pokémon, I didn’t like they, wen they were announced.
So... if you ask me “What do you think about the Alola Pokémon?” Here’s the answer, just remember “Before”, is when first was announced, “After” was after seeing it in the anime.
What I think of:
Rowlet
Before: It’s not the big deal and I don’t know why people loves it so madly? It’s simply an owl, I think this is the laziest design of a regional starter.
After: It’s adorable! Just look at him, I think I understand why people loves it.
