SoulBox
*cringing internally* CHAPTER THREEEE, wow yes wow finally
no editing, I didn't even check for continuity errors from the last chapter so just roll with whatever if there's anything like that! Here we go babyyy YeeHaw. like, 3k words. warnings would be CURSING. Let's go.
You aren't sure which exact moment got you into this situation.
One second, you were filing paperwork, then the next, you were in the office of your team leader.
Sat beside you, arms crossed and scowl plastered on, was Bakugo.
You tried to listen thoughtfully as the department head reprimanded the two of you for starting a shouting match at your desk.
He wasn't even done speaking before Bakugo groaned loudly in annoyance.
"It wasn't that big a deal. We were just having a conversation." he scoffed.
"You call that a conversation? You started criticizing the order of my desk immediately! Normally when someone joins a new team they, I dunno, introduce themselves, say hello!"
"It seemed pretty valid to me! You're the one that started talking shit about my body!"
The team leader's eye widened and turned to get an elaboration from you on that.
"You sat at my chair, put your dirty PLATFORM WORKBOOTS on my desk, and all I did was call you out on it! It had nothing to do with your height, but since you bring it up, yeah, clearly you're compensating for it!"
Okay, so that one did make you feel bad. It wasn't really in your nature to be so mean, but he'd always brought out the worst in you. He wasn't even short, you just happened to be taller than the average woman and he was still a head taller than you? You didn't know how it affected him as much as it did. Also even if he was shorter than you, why would you care? Did he care that you thought he was short? Your mind was wandering as it was prone to do when you couldn't figure something out through simple observation.
"Are you even fucking listening? Swear you and Deku could be Soulmates you both go off in your own damn worlds. This is why no one likes you." Bakugo waves his hand in front of your face.
You were standing outside the team director's office, apparently having autopiloted your way through the boring... uh important lecture on office behavior.
"Soulmate?" you mumbled to the blonde.
"Jesus is that all you heard? This is why Soulmate shit is so stupid. Find out you have one and nothing else in the world matters. Have some fuckin life goals."
"What? No! Shut up! I'm in the top ten best heroes how in the world can you conclude that I don't have my own goals just because I zoned out for a second, huh? Grow up."
"Well you're not as good as me," he stated simply.
You groaned, "I didn't SAY that I was, I didn't SAY anything. Why do you act like this!" you stormed off before he could continue to berate you further.
Back at your desk, you were typing away at some reports that had been emailed over when there was a tap on your shoulder. Expecting to see Bakugo coming to get the last word, you were surprised to see another transfer from his previous Agency.
"Kirishima!" you gasped in surprise and elation.
"Oh, wow hi! You remember me!?" he smiled with the same sharp-toothed grin you remembered from U.A.
He and Bakugo were in the third year at U.A. by the time you took your entrance exam. While Bakugo was aggressive and rude, Kirishima had been the complete opposite. Oh course you would remember him, and not just by his hero name.
"YES? I looked up to you and half your class, how could I ever forget!" you stood to give him a warm hug, noticing a pair of glaring red eyes a few cubicles away from your own. Of course, he would be watching, fuming over the ease at which Kirishima got along with others.
"Oh wow, you flatter me! I just wanted to come over and say how excited I am that we could end up working together now! Maybe you looked up to me then, but I am for sure your fan now." he scratched the back of his head bashfully, the smallest pink on his cheeks nearly hidden by the brighter red hue of his hair.
Just then a heavy wad of paper struck him in the neck.
"Ow! What gives dude!?" he turned to Bakugo, knowing full well it was him.
"Would you stop flirting, I'm ready to hit a patrol!" he screeched.
"I'm just saying my hellos, it's been a long time since we've talked-"
"She outranks you on the charts by god knows how much, don't you think you should work on that, shit for hair? Shit's embarrassing. You shouldn't even be breathing the same air as her." he mumbled the last part, but his voice is so deep and harsh it was easily heard since everyone had stopped to listen in yet again to the angry man.
"Then why do you talk to him if that's how you feel?" you asked, confused by his logic, "You're friends with him, like???"
"It's okay. I, he, well you just, he--" Kirishima was having a hard time finding the words, but Bakugo took this moment to grab him hard by the shoulder and pull him away.
"Stop talking loser. Now." he didn't seem to want Kirishima to explain his behaviors.
"Well anyway, I'll see you around! Maybe we can go out for drinks later!"
"Ah, y-yeah! That sounds... fun." the two of them were gone before you could finish your sentence, though you can't say it bothered you that much. The idea of going out for drinks with Kirishima was fine, but not so much with Bakugo.
It was times like this you really wish you could talk about life events more specifically to your soulmate. Speaking of which, you decided to check the box in your bottom desk drawer while you were finishing up your paperwork. A couple of notes had gathered, cramped within their small confines.
You unfold one,
Do you ever have someone on your mind that you just can't stop thinking about? Like everything they do just pisses you off for some reason?
You take a look at the second, more hastily written note:
I think we should meet soon.
Your eyes bulge at the second note. The jump from one topic to this one has you believing it was an impulse decision on his part, but you couldn't care less about that right now. He wanted to meet. He asked you.
You practically believed this day would never come, but here it is, out of the blue.
You both agreed that you would meet when the time was right for you in your personal lives. Having steady careers, financial stability, and your own independence.
You knew something big happened in his life recently, but not this level big.
He wanted to meet you.
You wanted to meet him, absolutely.
You wrote back and your handwriting was sloppy for the first time ever, the eagerness getting the better of you.
Yes! Do we live close? Are we even in the same country? oh my god, I don't care, yes!
Your work break was nearing, and the anticipation you were experiencing had your body covered in a thin layer of sweat. You figured he would take a while responding, it always had in the past. But you nearly passed out when you heard your little magic box shuffle not long after you'd sent your own message. The handwriting was sloppier than normal if that was even possible. There were a few puncture holes in some of the curves of the letters as though he were on the move when writing them, and no solid place to hold his paper against.
I live near this location. What about you?
Holy shit. Holy shit shit shit. He was close. Oh so close. Closer than you could have imagined. The thoughts that he could have been someone you've met before had you light-headed.
No freaking way. I live here!
Well, that's just fuckin perfect, I just moved to the area so it seems like an alignment to me. I need to talk to you in person anyway. I have some things I want to get off my chest. But it wouldn't be fair to you to just write them out.
We have to meet soon.
Your heart stuttered at the words he'd written. What did that mean? What did he have to tell me that could only be said in person? Was it good things? Bad?
A letter came through before you could riddle yourself with any further anxiety.
Don't be scared about what I just said. I'm yours. I don't care what's going on in my life I'm not going to let anything get in the way of you and me being soulmates. I love you.
This new message did next to nothing to quell your worry and left you honestly with even more questions. He's not going to let anything get in the way? What does that mean, you wondered. You read back over the first message he'd sent that day.
"Do you ever have someone on your mind that you just can't stop thinking about? Like everything they do just pisses you off for some reason?" As you read it over a couple of times, you could only piece together that it wasn't some thing that was occupying his mind with worry, it was some one.
You curse your observant mind to all hell. Why couldn't you just read things without analyzing them to oblivion?
But, you knew him. You knew he was no liar, of that you were sure. If he said he was yours, then he was, simple as that.
I love you. When and where?
It was finally time, and nothing would ruin that.
The very next day, you sat at a little table for two, at a restaurant/ bar you'd both agreed on. He said it was the only place in town that he'd really been to yet, thanks to a friend of his dragging him out. He told you that the small buffalo bites were alright but it was the hot sauce dip that really sold the place to him. You breathed in at a steady pace to calm yourself as you waited. You told him he could recognize you because you were going to order two of what he'd had, one for you and another sat across the table for him. On top of that, you let him know you would be wearing a necklace that held his very first "message" to you. So he would be able to pick you out with that small item descriptor as well.
You placed your SoulBox next to your glass of wine, straightened your posture, fixed your hair so that it perfectly framed and showcased your necklace, and waited.
"I can't believe those fuckers decided to rob a hot dog stand of all the damn places. On the way to this stupid ass bar. Unbelievable."
Bakugo seethed the entire walk to the place he was meant to meet his soulmate for the first time. Kirishima kept quiet, knowing nothing could help his friend in this moment of anger. He didn't even have the chance to change out of his hero costume. "The absolute stupidity. They didn't even check their surroundings before pulling that shit. Imagine, two top heroes standing a mere fifteen feet away and you try and rob a hot dog stand. A HOT DOG STAND. I hate being late. I hate it. And now of all times. This is the worst first impression I think I could ever make in my LIFE."
Kirishima nodded in silence. They marched forward at a blurring pace, not realizing they had nearly walked past the restaurant bar they had been heading to.
"Woah, dude. Hold up, we're here! Are you ready?" Kirishima sounded almost more nervous than his best friend. He was even shifting his weight from one foot to another, a habit that much annoyed his blonde companion.
"Of course I'm ready, shittyhair. 'm not scared of anything." Bakugo clicked his tongue and scoffed. ... But made no move to the entrance.
"Well uh, I guess I'll leave you to it then?"
"Fine whatever. I dont' know why you insisted on coming along anyway." he shooed at him.
"I'm just excited for you man! It's a once in a lifetime thing to meet your soulmate for the first time!" He smiled his obnoxious smile like he always does when something good happens for Bakugo. He slapped his friend's shoulder, giving him a nod of approval before turning to head back to the Agency.
"Wait." Bakugo spoke in a low annoyed growl. "Will you.. Can you just check the window for me? Tell me if you see someone with the necklace she described?"
Kirishima stood, jaw slack for a moment before practically sprinting up to the bars tinted windows to peek inside. There was no chance in hell he would survive if he teased Bakugo over how nervous he came off as. Instead, he played it off like a best friend would, "Oh smart, man. Check the scene. Make sure she's in there, get her location so you're not looking around forever and---" Kirishima looked through the glass and cocked his head, his own silence cutting him off mid-sentence.
"Hello? What the hell are you doing? Did you find her or not?" Bakugo was growing impatient.
"Uh, yeah. I mean, I think so?"
"What do you mean , 'you think so'? What the hell, does she have the food in front of her?"
"Um. Yes."
"And does that person also have a fucking necklace on that matched the one I described to you?"
"Also yes."
"THEN WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?"
"Well I dunno if you're gonna like her man."
"WHAT? How the hell would you know what I like, dumbass?"
"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Well you know Smokie from work?" Kirishima wasn't exactly fond of using your 'petname' that Bakugo referred to you as usual, but it was the surest way he would know who he was talking about right away.
"Sm-- what? Yes? SO? What the hell does she have to do with anything we're talking about right now, moron? Did you forget to take you ADHD medication or something--"
"Well if you don't like Smokie, you won't like her." he says matter-of-factly.
"WELL, WHY THE HELL NOT?" Bakugo has had it. At the end of his rope with his long-time friend, soon to be six feet under friend.
"Mm. Because it IS Smokie." he tries to force a smile, but he's too afraid of the blonde at this moment.
A long pause ensues.
Bakugo darts up to the window, quick to take the place of where Kirishima once stood. His eyes search the dining area, sure enough, landing on a lone woman sitting at a table for two. Two plates of chicken and spicy sauce. A familiar necklace around her neck. You. It's you that sits there, waiting. You are sitting there waiting for him. For Bakugo.
And all at once Bakugo goes completely blank. This person, you, has been a thorn in his side for years. Someone he noticed during his third year in U.A. Noticed every time you ascended the ranks, took an absolutely deserved step closer to him in power. It infuriated him. It made him proud. It made him sick that he thought of you so much, so hatefully. And he did hate you. Or at least he tried. Tried to tell himself that, because he had a soulmate. Someone that actually knew his heart. How could he even consider the possibility of liking you, knowing that the real love of his life was out there, patiently waiting for him?
"Oh my god."
Then it all came crashing down around him at once. He'd done nothing but show you his worst side for years. Did whatever he could to be close to you but a light year away at the same time.
He told you, his soulmate you, that he needed to get something off his chest. His ugly infatuation with someone that wasn't you, that now WAS you. He desperately needed to meet you, to get over this ridiculous crush, all he had to do was meet his soulmate and that would be the end of it once and for all.
That seemed like such a trivial thing to talk about before. Now it seemed like the easiest outcome. This, this was a whole new set of problems.
This you, the one sitting in the bar. This you loved him. This you hated him.
Bakugo stepped down from the window, silent. And began to walk away, aimless and dizzy.
"Hey! Hey man! You're not going to just leave her in there are you? I mean she's your soulmate! You gotta at least send her a message or something, right?" Kirishima called after his friend in earnest.
Bakugo stopped and scolded at his feet for a moment before getting an idea.
"Yeah... Yeah you're right. He's got to send her a message, he's gonna be late. In fact, he's not even going to make it, after all."
Kirishima's face scrunched in bewilderment before realizing what his friend meant.
Bakugo pulled out a small notebook he kept in one of his many pant pockets, scribbled his apologies, and tore out the page, placing it in another separate pant pocket.
"Right. Soo, what, do we just... leave now?" Kirishima questions.
"Nope. I've got a better idea." he peaks in the window again, waiting as he watches you open your box, picking out the letter and seeing the heartbreak written on your face.
"We're going to go talk to my soulmate."
You look over the letter that rattled the box unexpectantly.
You could have almost teared up as you read that an emergency had come up and he wouldn't be able to make it after all. If that wasn't the worst of it, not moments after the bad news a familiar pair of now off-duty coworkers come striding through the door and are heading straight for you.

Intro Post!
totally didn't forget about this
Uhhhh hi! My name is. Natsuki Edda. 14 years old. I was born in Kanto, got adopted by my Galarian momdad a couple years back and now I'm. Going to school in Paldea.
Update: I am now shaped like a 16 year old and in an alternate Johto. Still going to school, presumably.
Tumblr media
Oh, right! Team line-up:
I only have Bailarina with me. She's a Kirlia again, at this point.
... I'll try and keep up with the editing?
Hello. My name is Akechi Goro. Much to my displeasure, it seems I am stuck at 13 years old. And in possession of. Cat features. Thanks to Pelipper Mail. Fantastic.
Tumblr media
My team is as follows:
Haru the Hattrem, female. Much like Bailarina, she's been devolved. (Neither of them are very pleased about this development.)
Uh... Hello, I suppose? My name is Micah Schleicher. They/them pronouns. I'm... not entirely sure how old I am. Older than 20 but under 30, I think?
My arrival in this world was... unexpected, I think. But I'm probably stuck here, now.
Tumblr media
... I'd be typing in green text, but apparently that one's reserved for Beholding.
I'm taking care of an Espathra, a Camerupt and a Flygon, as well as making sure Natsuki's and Goro's teams aren't stuck in the Box System for too long at a time. ... I guess I'm a Pokésitter...

The weeks after the big game, things dwindled down for the Slytherins. Gryffindor was over the moon with its win and naturally it took some weeks to come down from it. The fact that exams were coming help with that. Most of the time, the third years found themselves either in the common rooms or the library to study.
Romina and Hermione got together one afternoon to go over their notes for their shared classes. Everything seemed to be piling on each day and it only got worse when they had their schedules finally planned out.
The only reason Romina paused her studying was because she got a glimpse of what Hermione's schedule looked like. "Now wait a minute," Romina waved a hand in front of the brunette girl, "If this is right, how the heck are you taking two exams at the same time?"
Hermione's eyebrows raised with only slight interest in the question. She had a mounting pile of books on her side that she needed to get through. "I just am, don't worry about it," she answered in a fast pace tone. "Do you have the Muggle Studies study guide you made?"
"Yeah, but...Hermione, how are you doing all this?" It felt like an age old question at this point in the year. As much as Romina badgered Hermione about it, the latter never gave her a straightforward answer. "I mean, you're super smart but this is beyond you."
Hermione tapped her fingers along the table, her impatience marking her forehead with a crease. "Romina, the study guide, please?"
With a sigh, Romina handed the papers over to her. "Well, I guess good luck is in order. I'm a little worried over my potions' grade."
"Why? You're pretty good at them," Hermione said distractedly while she skimmed through the guide.
"Decent, I suppose," Romina shrugged. "But there's always an ingredient I forget." She hated to admit that Draco always helped her out in the class. As good as she thought she was at potions, he was exceedingly better at it.
"You'll get it, Romina, you always do." Hermione sounded like she was reciting more than having an actual conversation. Romina didn't blame her, she was too focused on the guide to concentrate on anything else.
She decided to leave a little early to give Hermione plenty of solo time for her studying. She grabbed her things and stuffed them into her book bag. "See you later," she told Hermione. She doubted that the brunette even heard her. She headed back for the common room to get a start on the Transfiguration studying.
"Oh hey Romina," she heard Pansy's drawling call in the hallway. She and Millicent were sitting together on a bench with a book between them.
"Hello and goodbye, Pansy," Romina said, making a beeline for the common room now.
"Wait! Don't you want to see the album we're looking at?"
Romina paused right in front of the steps. She looked back at Pansy with a deep scowl. "Now why the hell would I want to do that?"
"Because you're in it," Pansy said and Millicent giggled beside her.
"What?"
"Well, I guess it's not technically you but she looks a hell a lot like you," Pansy said, turning the album over for Romina to see.
Of course, being too far had Romina coming back to get a better look. Her heart nearly stopped at the sight of her mother's moving picture. "Where the hell did you get this from?"
"I have my ways," Pansy said all too proudly. "It's an old Hogwarts yearbook. Did you know that your mother was an outstanding student at getting into trouble?"
Romina bit the inside of her cheek. The picture she was lucky to see had her mother smirking maliciously at the camera. God, she hated the woman.
"And then your father…" Pansy started flipping through the pages to no doubt pull a photograph of Caplan too.
"Stop it!" Romina snatched the album altogether.
"Hey! Give that back!" Pansy was quick to jump off the couch.
"Why are you so hung up on my parents, Parkinson!?"
Pansy had a good laugh before she responded. "That's rich coming from you! Look at what you've done to your hair, for God's sake! And for what? Because you look like Mummy!" She snatched the album back and chucked it to Millicent. She ignored the gruff noise Milicent gave as she stalked up to Romina. "And guess what, Oswell? No matter what the hell you do to your hair, to your face, you will always look like your mother!" Pansy's voice started increasing in volume. "A death eater."
Romina swallowed hard as students began to stop in their tracks to witness the scene. All eyes were on her again.
"It doesn't matter where you go because everyone will always know who you are and what your parents happily did!" Pansy laughed. "And you really think adding some stupid highlights or cutting your hair is going to make that disappear?"
Romina stepped back from Pansy. She could feel her face burning with embarrassment and shame. Was she imagining the whispers or were those real? It felt like it was getting louder and louder...
Pansy was more than satisfied with the scene. She laughed triumphantly. "At this point, may I suggest Polyjuice for your troubles?"
Romina looked around and swore that the crowd was multiplying. Tears filled her eyes. Her hand came up to her hair to grip.
She dashed away before anyone said anything to her. She heard the gruff of the first years she pushed through but she didn't dare look back to apologize. By the time she reached the common room, she was in full fledged tears.
Arden, who was studying at one of the round tables, looked up to see Romina running inside. "Romina? What's the matter?"
Romina didn't answer. She didn't even look in Arden's direction as she ran into the hallways. Arden had no choice but to leave her things to chase after Romina.
Romina ran straight into their room, her head flipping in every direction as if she was searching for something. She went under her bed to pull out a box. Her hands ransacked it all until she found what she was looking for: a pair of scissors.
When Arden finally caught up with her in the room, Romina was already standing in front of Daphne's long view mirror getting a fistful of her hair to chop off. "WOAH!" Arden had never run and jumped over beds so fast. She only just made it in time to snatch the scissors from Romina, a dangerous act alone. "ARE YOU MAD!?"
"Give them back!" Romina exclaimed, hand stretched out to take the scissors.
Arden took a few wild steps back. "NO!"
Tears were streaming down Romina's face as she grew more desperate. "Arden, please! I need them!"
"For what!? To chop everything off again!?"
"YES!"
"Why!?"
"Because I look just like her! No matter what I do, I still look like Elora!" Romina finally burst into fresh tears. She turned back to the mirror and gripped her hair. "No matter what I do, it doesn't change anything! I'll always be their daughter! Pansy's right! Everyone will always know who I am and what my parents did!"
Parkinson. Arden knew the girl was behind all this. She took a heavy breath in before the wretched name slipped out of her with a curse. "Romina…"
The girl in question was a distraught mess. She had crumpled to the ground and buried her head over her knees.
Arden had never seen Romina in such a state. She hurried to leave the scissors in her own area, not wanting to leave them out in the open for Romina to use in another state of rampage. She then came back to Romina's side on the floor. "C'mon Romina, you can't let Parkinson get to you like this."
"It's not just her!" Romina sniffled. "Every time something bad happens in the school, especially if it has something to do with Sirius Black, everyone thinks I helped him somehow. Some people still think I'm the one who gave him the bloody passwords to get into the Gryffindors' tower!"
Arden looked away with pity. Yeah, she heard those rumors too and from people she never even thought would believe in that nonsense. "Okay, okay, things could be better but in order to be better, you have to get up."
"What's the point, Arden?" Romina shrugged her shoulders. "I'm an Oswell. No one's ever going to look past that."
"What are you talking about? People already have. Not everyone, yeah, but many of them. There's the Paes twins, Daphne, the Weasleys, Harry! Luna Lovegood never even cared! There's Rolf too! Hell, even Draco didn't care! There's so many of us who could give a crap about a last name. Don't let Parkinson get to you because that's exactly what she wants. She can't stand that you've bested her so many times. This is petty retribution for what you did to her during Potions!"
Romina knew that was true. She always knew that Pansy would get back at her eventually. It was just hard moving past it.
"Romina, you can't keep messing with your hair like this," Arden said. She made herself more comfortable on the ground beside Romina. "You are who you are, whether your hair is short or long or red or even pink but it does not mean that you're like your parents."
"I hear you, I do, but knowing what's happening with Black...it's messing me up even more! I wish they just caught him already."
"They will eventually," Arden said with no doubt in her mind. "Nobody escapes the Dementors."
"I don't know what to do right now, though," Romina said with a long sigh. The tears were slowing down which was a good sign at least. She swallowed hard and wiped away some of the tears on her cheeks. "Pansy just made a fool out of me again in front of everyone. They'll be talking about this for weeks—until the end of the year!"
"So what?" Arden challenged. "Who bloody cares if they're talking about you?"
"I do!"
"These people love gossip but once something new comes by, they're going to forget about you."
"That's all I want," Romina said. She just wanted to disappear in the dark corners where nobody paid her any attention.
"Please, let's study together," Arden said. "We'll figure out a way to get Parkinson back."
"No," Romina shook her head. "I don't...I don't want to keep this game going. I just want her to leave me alone now. I'm afraid of what she could do next time."
"Oh no, you are not going to be afraid of Parkinson!" Arden snorted. "There is nothing to be afraid of from that girl! And once you start feeling better, you'll see that too. Right now your head is all wonky from the tears. Give it a day or so."
Romina half-smiled. This wouldn't be the first time she had to come back from one of Pansy's tricks. "Okay, let's go study."
Arden beamed. "That's my best friend!" She threw her arms around Romina for a side hug. Eventually, she managed to pull a smile out of Romina too.

Transfiguration was up first in the long list of exams. Romina thought it was a fairly easy exam with the only slightly more difficult assignment being the last one where they had to turn a teapot into a tortoise. That could've gone a little better for some students. Charms was right after and it went pretty well too. Romina was most confident in her Care of Magical Creatures class both out of Rolf's helpful tips beforehand and the fact that Hagrid had given them all such an easy assignment.
Romina spent that entire week with her nose in her books. She had no desire to see nor talk to Pansy, much less if it was to get a glimpse of the triumphant smirk that had been glued to her face ever since the incident in the hallway. Romina didn't feel confident enough to uphold any type of conversation with her. By now, the entire House had learned what transpired and while some of them kept their comments to themselves, others were bold enough to side with Pansy (whether they knew her or not) or ask Romina questions about her parents. At times, Romina felt like throwing whatever book she had in her hands at the nosy students.
Muggle Studies was a breeze in the exams. Whatever Romina didn't know, she put faith in her common knowledge of the life she'd lived for the past 13 years. Herbology was only a pain because of the heat and Astronomy was, as usual, a mysterious delight. History of Magic, as boring as it was, wasn't very challenging either. The last exam she took was Potions and, surprisingly, Romina found herself constructing the assignment fairly well. She might have to admit to Draco that she owed him...maybe. She didn't want to risk inflating his ego.
It was Buckbeak's execution day that put a damper in Romina's mood. She met Harry, Hermione and Ron on that unfortunate afternoon to go down to talk to Hagrid.
Hermione was furious, to say the least. She stormed down the courtyard, leading the group towards the hills. "How can they do this? How can they be okay with killing Buckbeak like this? It wasn't his fault!"
"I'm sorry, I tried talking to Draco but he suddenly had no ears to listen with," Romina said with a roll of her eyes. He was the definition of selective hearing.
"We know you tried, Rom," Harry said with a comforting pat on her shoulder.
"We should just go see Hagrid," Ron said. There was really nothing else they could do at this point.
"Hey Romina!"
Romina, along with the trio, looked back to see Cedric Diggory coming towards them. "You got a moment?" he asked Romina. "It's about the Transfiguration tutoring you're doing for my friend Heidi?"
"Uh, yeah, yeah, of course." Romina leaned closer to the others to whisper for them to get a head start for Hagrid's hut. "I'll catch up soon, promise."
The trio nodded and left in a hasty stride. They literally had no time to waste.
"So, what do you need, Cedric?" Romina asked the older boy. "I didn't know Heidi was your friend. She's a bit on the, uh, younger side…" Heidi was a timid first year she was tutoring and now that Romina remembered, Heidi had mentioned in one of their sessions that she had made friends with a cute older boy in Hufflepuff.
Cedric smiled, and Romina thought it was absolutely charming. "She got lost in a hallway once and I sort of showed her around. She seemed very frightened."
"At Hogwarts as a first year? Oh yeah," Romina nodded. First year was a terrible year if anyone asked her.
"Anyways, after that, I sort of just check up on her every once in a while," Cedric said. "She's been a little nervous about her upcoming exam in Transfiguration and I've talked to her a bunch of times. I know she's gotten a lot better since you started tutoring her."
Romina smiled softly. "She's definitely improved. I think she can pass the exam no problem."
"I think so too," Cedric nodded, "But if you wouldn't mind, I don't know, talking to her before her exam tomorrow? I feel like she might listen to you more than me."
"Of course," Romina assured him. "I'll go talk to her tomorrow morning. Give her a pep talk, you know?"
"Thanks Romina, seriously. You're the best!"
Romina's lips pursed together in an awkward smile. "Really? You think so?"
Cedric guessed where her doubt was coming from. He had heard plenty of things about her over the year and even more recently. "Of course. What people say...it doesn't matter, honestly."
Romina's expression softened with his words. It shouldn't matter, she told herself. That's what Arden said, that's what Harry said, that's what everyone she cared about said. Maybe she should start to actually listen.
She thanked Cedric for his kind words and started for Hagrid's hut. Harry, Ron and Hermione were probably already in and so should she. She was so focused on getting to the hut as quickly as possible that she could've never expected to crash into someone just as soon as she stepped onto the sloping field.
"Argh! Watch it you — Oswell!"
Romina rubbed her forehead as she took a step back. "Please, Draco, don't sound so sorry about it."
"I'm not!" He didn't hesitate to clarify. He sounded extra cranky for some reason and when Romina finally dropped her hand from her forehead, she saw why.
Her eyes widened at the pool of blood under his nose. "What the hell happened to you?"
"It's your mudblood of a friend—Granger!"
"Hey! Watch it!" Romina pointed a finger at him. She looked past him to Crabbe and Goyle with the same warning eyes in case they had a thing to say about it. "Bet if Theodore or Blaise were here, you wouldn't have been so stupid."
Selective hearing was happening again because Draco didn't even acknowledge her words. "Look at what she did to me!? She broke my nose!"
"Well, what did you do?" Romina crossed her arms.
The amusing manner in which she asked and the fact that she had even asked in the first place infuriated Draco. "She broke my nose, Oswell!" He yelled incredulously. "I swear I'm going to get her back for this!"
Romina silently listened to him rage about the hell he would unleash on Hermione. She stepped closer to him but in his rage, he didn't notice.
"And if any of you three breathe a word about this to anyone, I'll—"
Romina's hands seized his nose and pushed it back into place. CRACK!
Draco's scream could've echoed through the school, and maybe it had. "What the hell!?" Romina blinked calmly under his murderous glare. "What did you—"
"I fixed your nose," she said flatly.
"What!?" His hands flew to his nose. "How did you know how to do that?"
"It is amazing what you learn in a muggle school's aftercare." A smile tugged at Romina's lips. "There really should be more supervision but then I guess I would've never learned how to do that." She pointed at his now healed nose. "Fair notice that it will be sore for the next couple of days."
"What? Just like that?"
Romina rolled her eyes and yanked his hands from his nose. "Let me see," she swatted his hands as he tried to touch his nose again.
"See what? I thought you 'fixed' it," he said with too much sarcasm in his tone.
Romina tutted. "Not the way to talk to someone who just did you a favor. Move your hands, dammit!"
With a huff, Draco did as told. Romina gently touched both sides of his nose. She pressed ever so lightly, like a feather's weight, and asked him if he felt any pain.
"Not really," he lied for some reason. He did feel the echoes of the sharp pain he first felt when Hermione's fist collided with his nose, but Romina was looking up at him with big dark eyes waiting to find out if her trick really helped him or not. She was very close to him and for the first time, he could smell a faint scent of...what, roses? It was nice. She still wore the headband he gave her. She never really took it off, did she? He tried ignoring the strange feeling in his stomach when he wondered if she really liked the headband that much to never let go of it.
A snap of Romina's fingers brought Draco out of his thoughts. The snap hadn't been for him but instead for Crabbe behind him.
"Napkin," Romina had instructed, or rather ordered, so swiftly. Taking command looked very good on her.
Crabbe and Goyle fumbled between each other to produce what she had asked for. In the end, they handed her a handkerchief that she crumpled into a ball to tuck underneath Draco's nose.
"Just wash your face," she told him with a small smile. "And I look forward to hearing what, oh what, you said to finally make Hermione snap."
It was easy for Draco to slip back into his usual self. He rolled his eyes and stepped away from her, though he did take hold of the balled up napkin under his nose. "I'm going to get her back," he warned her.
"No you're not because then I'll break your nose this time," she promptly said back. She flashed him a smile and moved around him.
"Where are you going, Oswell?" Draco turned after her. "It's almost dark."
"Don't worry about me so much," Romina put a hand over her chest. She laughed when he rolled his eyes. She then turned towards Hagrid's hut to catch up. She'd spent a little bit more time up here than she wanted to.
She sprinted down the field only to catch sight of Dumbledore, Fudge, and the damn executioner were already on their way inside the hut.
"Aw dammit!" She stomped her foot. She quickly looked around for her friends and caught a break when she saw the trio sneaking their way towards the forest. She scurried through the outskirts of the garden to sneak up on them from behind. "What's happened!?"
"What does it look like? They're here!" Ron exclaimed and was promptly shushed by Harry and Hermione.
"What took you so long?" Harry asked Romina as they made space for her between them.
"Umm...Cedric," Romina supplied the lie a bit slow on her part. "He, um, he was concerned about the girl that I tutor. Apparently, they're friends." She made a show of focusing entirely on the happenings in the hut ahead of them. She had a feeling that Harry would not like to know that she fixed Draco's broken nose that he no doubt deserved to have broken.
The group eventually had to sneak back up the field before the adults came out of the hut. They stopped right where they'd been earlier to look below. The executioner had already come through the pumpkin patch where Buckbeak awaited and with one swing of his ax, the job was done.
Hermione was in full-fledged tears. She turned to hug Ron but it was cut short with Ron's yelp. "Scabbers!"
Romina's eyes widened at the sight of the rat scurrying away from them. Ron went after the rat despite Hermione's and Harry's calls for him to stop.
"What—I thought it was dead!?" Romina exclaimed.
"Hagrid found him," Harry said before they took chase after Ron.
They shouldn't be chasing Ron and his rat when it was starting to grow dark out but here they were, coming to a stop a short distance from the Whomping Willow.
"Ron!" Harry exclaimed once they found the redhead on the ground picking up his rat.
"Oh—he's too close!" Romina pointed at the Whomping Willow that was coming to life. "Ron, run!"
At the sound of their voices, Ron looked up. Dread filled his face but not for the reason the group presumed. "No, you run!" He pointed at something behind them, forcing them to spin around and see what was there.
A jet black dog was coming for them, running, and leaped at them, or so they thought. It jumped clear of the trio to land on Ron instead. He screamed as it bit his ankle and dragged him towards the Whomping Willow.
"Oh my God!" Romina was frozen in her spot but thankfully Harry was not. He lurched forwards in an attempt to catch Ron before the dog took him away.
Hermione then jumped after Harry to create a chain and hold him too. "I've got you!"
Unfortunately, nobody had anybody. Romina saw her friends being dragged towards to the Whomping Willow like they were nothing but ragdolls. She ran forwards hoping to catch Ron instead of following the chain. The dog had already slipped through a gap in the tree and eventually, as much as Harry held onto Ron's hand, it took Ron with him.
"ROOON!" The remaining trio yelled after him.
"What do we do now!?" Romina could see nothing but darkness through the gap. They could still hear an echo of Ron's screams but it was fading.
And then Hermione screamed. The Whomping Willow had swept her up into the air and it came for both Romina and Harry next. They landed a good distance from the gap albeit in awkward angles. One by one, they rose from the ground and made a race for the gap again.
"Watch out!" Romina cried as one branch came plunging down on them. They had to jump in opposite directions. Romina and Hermione made it but Harry was smacked again and this time, his glasses went flying in the air.
Hermione attempted to jump over the branches swinging her way. She got the first one but the second one took her right with it. Romina felt like she was in a wicked game of double dutch, only this one was deadly. The endgame was the gap and one way or another, they had to make it through to catch up with Ron. She made a clean run for it, making jumps every now and then despite several branches making gashes over her shoulders and one terribly painful one against her cheek. Her hair was also not helping one bit. One branch managed to entangle itself with a part of her hair which then plucked her right up from the ground. Like Hermione, she screamed.
Only Harry remained on the ground and not by much. Already he had to avoid more branches, with absolutely terrible vision, and he could hear both of his friends screaming. He got a lucky break when he found his glasses on the ground and they weren't broken. As soon as he put them on, he saw Hermione coming in his direction.
She grabbed his shirt on her way and picked him up. Harry had no idea why this would be a good idea but now there he was hanging on for dear life. A short second later, however, he felt Hermione's hand push him off. Down he went into the gap and through the dark tunnel.
"JUMP!" Hermione then told Romina.
"I CAN'T!" Romina shook her head—part of her hair was still tangled in the branch. "It's too long! Go without me!"
"Fat chance!" Hermione managed to sneak her wand out of her pocket. She thanked the heavens the crazy spinning hadn't yet made it fly out. Now she just had to make sure she aimed right...on a moving...tree…
"Don't you dare!" Romina yelled at her as soon as she saw Hermione's wand making an aim towards her. "WE'RE MOVING!"
Yes, yes they were moving and they were very short on time so…
"Diffindo!" Hermione cried.
Romina felt the slicing of her hair and because of it, she let go of the branch. Her body went tumbling into the gap, coming to an unceremonious landing somewhere dark and cold.
"Rom!?" Harry was already up and no doubt waiting for them. "Are you—"
Romina groaned when Hermione's body landed right over her.
"Oh, sorry!" Hermione rolled off her.
"Hermione Granger..." Romina's voice shook as she pushed Hermione off of her then sat upright. "What did you do to me!?"
Harry produced a wisp of light with his wand, allowing him to see exactly what Romina was so upset about. His eyes widened. "Oh, Rom…"
Romina's hands flung to her hair which was now chopped in a very uneven manner with some tips far shorter than others. Hermione winced at the strangled cry Romina gave.
"Romina, you'll be okay! You can just fix it with a-a hairstylist or — Madame Pomfrey! She can help!"
"I can't fix this on my own! I look hideous!" Romina shouted. Up until today, she had only shortened and enlarged her hair's length and changed part of its color. She had no layers which made it even easier but now that was all gone.
"You guys, we need to find Ron," Harry said. It sounded inconsiderate on his part but he was thinking about how Ron was doing with some psycho dog and suddenly hair issues didn't seem as important. "Rom, you don't look that bad—"
Romina cried even harder knowing that was a full lie. "Parkinson is gonna have full ammunition against me now!"
Hermione rushed to Romina's side to try and calm her down. She apologized over and over, swearing that she would help fix the hair until it was beautiful and perfect again.
Harry felt stupid the way he stood there watching one of his best friends sob. He honestly thought there was something wrong beyond the superficial hair problems. Romina wasn't the kind of girl to fixate so much on her appearance. This entire year had been one whole mystery with Romina and Harry suspected that this was the final straw. This was more than an uneven haircut.
Harry moved in front of Romina and bent down. "Rom, you're obviously going through some things and I'll be here after this to talk but please," he touched her shoulder, "we gotta go find Ron. He could be in real danger."
Romina's tears stained her face. She felt an overwhelming urge to cry and cry and...cry. She was so tired of everything, having to change every little thing about her in hopes that she would look different.
"Romina, we'll change your hair back," Hermione kept reiterating. "I will not rest until your hair is what it was before, I promise."
New tears filled Romina's eyes. "I don't want my hair to be what it was..." Her voice was strained as she stifled another sob. "I'm...I just want to be normal again."
Hermione exchanged looks with Harry. They had a good idea about what she meant now.
"I just want to be me..." Romina continued, instinctively reaching for a strand of her hair. She caught one of the longer ones by luck. "With my hair."
"Well, Rom, you can do that," Harry said slowly. "You can be whatever you want to be."
"But then everyone will think that I look like my mum — Elora. I'm going to look like Elora, and I don't want that.I don't want the first thing that people think of when they see me to be Death Eaters and that I'm one of their spawns."
"Parkinson has nothing to be talking about, Romina," said Harry sternly, knowing that girl was a huge factor in Romina's abrupt appearance changes. "Her parents may not have been death eaters but they were big supporters. She's a malicious pureblood witch. You're nothing like them."
"Not even close," Hermione agreed with a firm nod.
"Romina, you gotta believe us," Harry said. "And you gotta help us find Ron, please."
Romina thought for a seconds until sense hit her. Ron's in danger! You can't be so selfish! She couldn't be that selfish. That would make her exactly like the people she wanted to be different from.
She started clearing the tears off her cheeks. "We need to find Ron." She pulled herself up from the ground, dusting herself off as best as she could.
Harry was relieved with her choice and scrambled up to his feet as well before she changed her mind. Hermione followed and together, the three set out to find Ron at the end of the tunnel.

To the trio's surprise, they reached the end of the passageway and they climbed up into the Shrieking Shack.
"Of course we'd end up here," Romina mumbled under her breath. The place was so infamous that even the ghosts didn't wander near it. Where else would they end up if not there?
Harry was focused on the visible paw prints on the dusty floor. They heard creaking from the second floor which could only mean Ron was upstairs. They hurried up the steps and once they were up, they noticed there was a clear stripe on the otherwise dusty floor. Somebody had been dragged up and over the floor towards the only room at the end of the hallway that had a lit light. The trio exchanged glances before they started for the door. All three of them had their wands at the ready when they burst into the room.
Ron sat on a ruddy bed looking scared for dear life, clutching his rat to his chest.
"Ron! You're okay!" Hermione dashed for him. Romina followed closely behind, her hand still gripping her wand.
Harry lingered as he scanned the room. "The dog—where's the—?"
"It's a trap!" Ron frantically shouted, startling the trio. "He's the dog! He's an Animagus!"
Harry followed the track of paw prints on the floor and, to his wonder, they turned into the shape of human feet. That led him to—
"Oh my god!" Romina yelled this time.
Sirius Black was standing in the shadows waiting for them. Even when he looked like he could crumble from how slim he was, his grimy appearance was a fright. Harry wasted no time in drawing his wand again. Hermione set herself in front of Ron's bed and Romina made a dash to position herself in front of Harry.
"If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us, too!"
"ROM!" Harry was downright horrified with her actions. He tried shoving her out of the way but it turned out she was a long stronger than she looked.
As scared as she was—and she was—Romina narrowed her dark eyes into a deep hateful glare on the man ahead of them. This was the man who had worked with her parents to kill Harry's parents. If he thought that she would be just like Elora and Caplan, he had another thing coming.
"No. Only one will die tonight," Sirius said, pointing a finger ahead of him.
"Then it'll be you!" Harry finally got a grip on Romina and pushed her to the side and ran straight for Sirius.
"Harry, no!" Hermione yelled as he lunged on Sirius.
Sirius laughed as Harry wrapped his hands around his neck. "Going to kill me, Harry?"
Harry didn't even hesitate to say a sharp 'yes!'.
"Harry, stop!" Romina came to pull him off the man before he attacked them. "Harry!" She pulled her friend back with him then drew her wand at Sirius again. "We don't kill him, but we can certainly turn him in—"
Suddenly, Lupin burst into the room and disarmed both Romina and Harry. With a nod of his head, he prompted the two to step back to where Hermione and Ron were. It was a wonder what would happen next. Too many questions were running through the students' heads.
Lupin pointed his wand at Sirius on the ground. "Looking a bit ragged, aren't we, Sirius? Finally the skin reflects the madness within!"
"You'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you, Remus?" Sirius answered much too casually for the situation. A moment later, Lupin was helping him off the ground and they were hugging.
"No!" Hermione voiced everyone else's thoughts. "I trusted you! And all this time you've been his friend!" She looked at the others when she explained what she had to keep a secret for months. "He's a werewolf! That's why he's been missing classes!"
Romina was stunned. Harry and Ron were dumbfounded. How could they have missed that? If they'd paid more attention, the signs had all been there...
Lupin didn't seem very distraught that his secret was out. He regarded Hermione with bemusement. "How long have you known?"
"Since Professor Snape set the essay."
"My, my, you really are the brightest witch of your age I've ever met, Hermione."
Sirius blew a raspberry. "Yes, you glow like the sun. And you howl at the moon. Enough talk! He dies!"
"Wait, Sirius!"
"I did my waiting!" Sirius frantically yelled. "Twelve years of it! In Azkaban!"
"Very well," Lupin gave in.
"No!" Harry brandished Hermione's wand at the pair. "You betrayed my parents! You sold them to Voldemort!"
"It's a lie!"
"No, you did," Romina spoke much calmer than Harry but that was only because a lump in her throat was threatening to spill tears. "You worked with my parents and then together you all sold the Potters out. Everyone knows the bloody story!"
Sirius now regarded her with some interest but Lupin cut in before he ever said anything. "Romina, it's been a lie. Someone did betray Harry's parents. Someone in this room right now. Someone who, until quite recently, I believed to be dead."
"What're you talking about?" Harry demanded. Romina was too dumbfounded to speak. "There's nobody here."
"Peter Pettigrew! He's in this room! Right now!" Sirius exclaimed. "Come out, come out, Peter! Come out, come out and play!"
The door burst open again and this time Snape came in. "Expelliarmus!" Everyone's wands flew out of their hands. "Vengeance is sweet. How I hoped I'd be the one to catch you."
Lupin raised a hand towards him. "Severus—"
"I told Dumbledore you were helping your old friend into the castle. And here's the proof!
"Brilliant, Snape." Sirius rolled his eyes. "Once again you've put your keen penetrating mind to the task and as usual come to the wrong conclusion. Now, if you'll excuse us, Remus and I have some unfinished business... to attend to."
Snape pointed his wand at him, closely to his jaw. "Give me a reason. I beg you." Sirius had no choice but to back away.
"Severus, don't be a fool, Severus!"
"He can't help it. It's habit by now," Sirius said with a hint of a smirk.
"Sirius, be quiet!"
"Be quiet yourself Remus!"
The students all looked between the teachers bickering until Snape cut in. "Listen to you two. Quarreling like an old married couple."
"Oh, why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set!" Sirius waved him off.
"I could do it, you know. But why deny the dementors? They're so longing to see you." Snape grew closer to Sirius, his wand at the ready again. "Do I detect a flicker of fear? A Dementor's Kiss. One can only imagine what that must be like. It's said to be nearly unbearable to witness, but I'll do my best."
"Severs, please!" Lupin tried once again.
"After you!" Snape made a gesture for them to start walking. He wasn't going to let them get away. The pair had no choice but to start walking.
Harry took his opportunity to grab the last wand still with its owner.
"Hey!" Ron said when Harry pulled his wand from his pocket. Whatever else was about to come out of his mouth was forgotten when Snape went flying in the air against the wall.
"Harry!" Romina clapped a hand over her mouth. "You attacked a teacher!" And Snape of all of them!
Harry had the decency to look shocked himself. He got over it quick, though and pointed the wand at Sirius. "Tell me about Peter!"
"He was at school with us. We thought he was our friend!" Lupin explained.
"No! No. Pettigrew's dead. You" — Harry pointed with the wand at Sirius — "killed him!"
"No, he didn't," Lupin argued quite certainly. "I thought so too, until you mentioned seeing Pettigrew on the map!"
"The map was lying, then!"
"The map never lies!" snapped Sirius, also very certain of it.
Romina lifted an eyebrow at him for it. "How would you know that?"
"We made it!"
Romina was once again stunned. "No way…"
"Yes," Lupin confirmed.
"Pettigrew's alive! And he's right there!" Sirius pointed over to Ron who, by now, was tired of being at the other end of his slim finger.
"He's mental!
"No, not you! Your rat!"
Ron stood by his previous statement. "Scabbers has been in my family for…"
"Twelve years? Curiously long life for a common garden rat! He's missing a toe, isn't he?"
Hermione's eyebrows raised when the piece fit. She looked over to Ron almost apologetically.
"So what?" Ron shrugged.
"All they could find of Pettigrew was his…" Harry trailed off. The pieces were beginning to fall into place.
"Finger!" Sirius finished. "That dirty coward cut it off so everyone would think he was dead! And then he transformed into a rat!"
"So he's an Animagus too?" Romina pointed at the rat. Ron was utterly offended that she was believing the nonsense so easily. "Wouldn't-wouldn't that be on the registry. Hermione, you said—"
"Not if he wasn't registered," Hermione whispered. Romina had declared her crazy months ago when Hermione confided in her that she'd gone above and beyond for their Transfiguration class by looking up the Animagus registry to see what wizards and witches were registered on it.
Romina's eyes widened. She turned completely over to Ron, her hand pointing at the rat he so desperately held. "Oh! If he's been pulling that trick-Ron! He knows the truth!"
Ron shook his head and held the rat closer to his chest.
"The Oswell girl is right," Sirius said. "He knows the truth. He framed me! I would never betray my best friends like that!"
"Show me," Harry demanded. "Ron, give them the rat."
Lupin walked forwards to retrieve Scabbers and as much as Ron would've liked to fight for the creature, he let go simply to find out whether or not he and his entire family had played hosts to a murderer for the past 12 years. Lupin backed up with Scabbers in his hand. He set him down to cast the spell but that's when the rat took its chance to run.
Romina thought that was truth enough to what they'd been saying. What rat would run so desperately if it wasn't a human being in hiding? Eventually, Lupin managed to strike the rat with the spell and suddenly, Scabbers was no longer a rat but instead a big man with grubby little rat hands.
"Remus? Sirius?" He turned towards the two men. "My old friends!" His eyes then flickered to the students, precisely on Harry. "Harry! Look at you! You look so much like your father!"
Harry took a step back when the man came running up to him. Romina, with a crinkled nose, took a few long steps to the side.
"Like James! We were the best of friends—"
"How dare you speak to Harry!? How dare you talk about James in front of him!" Sirius bellowed and went after Peter. The shorter man ran to the first piece of furniture that would give him some safety for the moment.
"You sold James and Lily to Voldemort, didn't you?' Lupin demanded to know. Behind him, Harry wanted to know the same thing.
"I didn't mean to!" Peter said with a voice that sounded ready to crack. "The Dark Lord. You have no idea the weapons he possesses! Ask yourself, Sirius! What would you have done? What would you have done?"
"I would have died!" Sirius continued to roar. "I would have died, rather than betray my friends!"
Peter whimpered like an actual child. He dashed towards Ron on the bed. "Ron! Haven't I been a good friend? A good pet? You won't let them kill me, will you? I was your rat…"
Ron drew away from him as much as he could. He was downright disgusted.
Peter, desperately, turned for Hermione. He grabbed her by the shoulders and she quickly tried prying him off her. "Sweet girl. Clever girl. Surely you won't let them…"
"Let her go!" Romina yelled at him. He took one look at her and, possibly more frightened, stepped away from Hermione but only to then make an attempt on Harry.
"Harry, James wouldn't have wanted me killed!" Peter made a turn for Harry. He managed to slip from Lupin and Sirius for the moment. "Your dad... Your dad would have spared me! He would show me mercy!"
"You should've realized, Peter, that if Voldemort didn't kill you, then we would!" Lupin said, upholding his wand again. "Together!" Sirius was more than ready as well.
"No!" Harry suddenly shouted, startling everyone in the room.
"Harry, this man…"
"I know what he is. But we'll take him to the castle."
Relief flooded Peter's face. "Bless you, boy! Bless you!" He attempted to hug the boy but Harry shoved him off.
"Get off! I said we'd take you to the castle. After that, the dementors can have you.
Whatever relief had been on his face vanished the moment the realization sunk in.

Sirius and Harry each held one of Ron's arms to help him out of the passageway. Behind them were Romina and Hermione (who had miraculously known a sleepwalking spell to bring back Snape with them as well) and lastly Lupin was right behind a whimpering Peter.
Romina had been unusually quiet all the way and that was only because she didn't want to risk causing any rocks to fall on them. As soon as she saw the opening, she prepared herself. When they were out on the field again, they set Ron down to rest for a second. Harry couldn't help but wander to Sirius who put some distance between him and the group. Romina then saw her opportunity.
"Romina?" Hermione glanced at her when she noticed Romina standing up.
Romina ignored her and walked up to Peter. "Do you know me?" she asked the man, or rather demanded.
"Romina, I don't think this is the time," Lupin told her. He was still holding his wand at Peter because he had no doubt the man would make a run for it at the first chance he got.
"No, everyone got their go, it's my turn now," Romina said darkly, eyes glued to the prattling Peter. "Do you know who I am?"
"Of c-course," Peter answered in his shaky voice. "You're the Oswell girl. Their child."
"You worked with my parents," Romina said, briefly casting a glance in Sirius' direction. "It had to have been you if not...not Black. You worked with them! One-on-one, I'm sure!"
"I had to!" wailed Peter. "Your parents — they're wicked! You don't know them! They would've killed me if I didn't work with them!"
Romina swallowed hard. She abhorred the fact she agreed with someone like Peter. All she had were stories about those two and this was the first person who showed the true fear that Elora and Caplan Oswell instilled in their victims.
"They wanted the location of James and Lily. They were going to do things to me if I didn't give them what they wanted!"
Romina drew in a shaky breath. "They would have killed you for sure," she whispered. She almost, almost, apologized to Peter on behalf of her parents.
"You'll be just like them if you let them turn me over like it was my fault!"
Romina's eyes widened and pretty quickly formed a killer glare on the man. Her hand gripped her wand even tighter and she jabbed it against Peter's chest, eliciting a whimper from the rat-man. "What did you say to me?"
"Romina, step back," Lupin ordered. "Now!"
But Romina did the exact opposite. She got closer to Peter; her glare deepening on her face. "You're the criminal in this story! I know who my — I know who Elora and Caplan are and what they did but anyone brave enough would've done what was right and be loyal to their friends. I have no doubt that Elora and Caplan would've killed you whether or not you gave them the location. I know what they're capable of because I've heard all the stories, but me helping set the record straight and sending you to Azkaban doesn't make me like them. It'll set me apart from them." Her voice gained a roughness that she didn't even know she was capable of. "Rot in Azkaban next to them for all I care and tell them that I'm going to be fucking amazing without them." She twisted her wand against Peter's chest and watched him writhe in pain until Hermione pulled her back.
"Romina, stop—!"
Romina ripped her arm out of Hermione's grip and turned away, leaving a very startled Hermione behind her. Hermione gulped and looked back at the others who seemed just as concerned as she was.
Romina was practically shaking with anger and yet, at the same time, she could also say she was in despair. Everything about her parents was true, and here was the living proof. They happily turned one friend against his other friends and allowed for the framing of an innocent man. And this was just one of their pettier crimes. She wanted nothing to do with them; she didn't want to call them her parents anymore; she wished with all her heart that she could change her last name. Romina could feel the heated tears threatening to escape from her eyes. She wanted to be done with those two.
"Harry!" Hermione's sudden frantic cry made Romina's eyes snap open. She turned as Harry and Sirius did the same to see Hermione pointing at Lupin.
The full moon had risen.
Sirius was quick to reach his friend. "Remus, my old friend! Have you taken your potion tonight?" He had to hold onto Lupin because the man was getting ready to change into his wolf side, but it appeared like he was trying to fight it. "You know the man you truly are, Remus! This heart is where you truly live! This heart here! This flesh is only flesh!"
"No!" Harry saw Peter take hold of Lupin's wand. "Expelliarmus!"
The wand was out of Peter's grip but it was too late, he transformed back into a rat.
"NO! NO!" Romina would've chased after the rat had Hermione not grabbed her arm to yank her back. Lupin was already halfway to becoming a wolf.
"Run, all of you!" Sirius told them. His efforts to qualm Lupin's turn was done in vain. With one shove, Sirius toppled over the ground. Lupin finished the rest of his transformation to become a full werewolf.
"P-professor?" Hermione called him. For the moment, the wolf was still. Only his jagged breathing made a noise in the air.
"Nice doggy, nice doggy," Ron whimpered.
"Oh, that's not going to work!" Romina scolded the pair of them. "He's not...he's not...him anymore." And sure enough, the wolf started growling at them, inching closer to them.
"There you are, Potter!" Snape had finally come out of his spell and unknowingly blocked the group from the wolf. Of course as soon as the wolf growled loudly, Snape whirled around and saw what they were dealing with. His arms opened to cover the students.
The werewolf pounced on them but before it reached any of them, Sirius, in his animagus form, cut him off. They fought each other but in the end, the wolf was too strong. It threw the dog way over the field and dashed after to keep the fighting going.
"No, Sirius!" Harry slipped from Snape's shield to go after them.
"Come back here, Potter!" Snape yelled after them. Hermione and Romina attempted to do the same but he caught them both by their arms. "Don't even think about it!"
"But Harry!" Romina was frantically gesturing after their friend. He was in the dark forest chasing after two creatures with absolutely no back up.

Hello! I’m gonna toss 9 and 13 back at ya for the writer asks :D
;>
(as usual, I talk a lot, so read more)
writer asks
9. what’s your writing process like?
First, there are two options: I either (too) start with daydreaming about fic, or (usually when I feel like writing, but don't know what) just search for prompt (usually from something I saved) ask myself "which character(s) the chosen prompt suits?" and then kick my brain as if it was a stubborn donkey, until the story starts make a sense in my head. But going back to daydreaming option. From when I started writing to…… until year ago? year and a half? something like that - until then I didn't really make notes on any of the fics I had. So I had lots in my head and lots got forgotten in the meantime. Now I'm smarter and when I find some time, the first thing I do is write down (preferably in the doc - or in physical notebook) everything I thought of for said fic, my plans for it and inspirations (with links or quotes). So, that's step two.
Step three is actually writing xD But I don't have a writing schedule right now (maybe next year, after I will be done with uni this year…). So, right now I'm writing when I feel like it. The only time I'm more inclined to write regularly it's for events like secret santa. And then I try to take some time to write daily. I start from writing what I know -> then planning more or less what happens in this fic/what happens in individual chapters -> "add substance" aka first version of the fic -> edit plot point and fic times n -> I can't look at this fic anymore but there don't seem to be any loose notes in the middle, so I can take a break -> If I kick that part of me that doesn't like asking for help, then I would ask for beta reader, if not I try checking fic myself (alternative third version: I'm too lazy to check and fic is not for event) -> don't forget to promo fic on blog/discord
13. Do you take pride in your writing, or does it embarrass you? Why?
Hmm… both pride and embarrassment, I guess. Like, if I look at my first fics my first reaction would be "damn, those need to be rewritten, did I really write them?? impossible" - but aren't those thoughts prove that I got better with writing? And so, isn't this something I should be prideful of?
Well, there are also moments when I think of a fic and think about how I would like to write that fic, but I get too embarrassed to write it by the idea of publishing said fic. For that I try to remind myself that 1) Writing fic doesn't mean I have to publish it too and 2) Fanfics are self-indulgent by definition, so there's no such fic as too self-indulgent fanfic, so I should chill a little.
But it's a Work In Progress (ba dum tss) (and not a fun one)

hello there! I'm back ! Sorry if it tooks so long, i have a lot of work during these holiday. I hope you like this little request. I didn't have time to be proofread (but a big thank you to@petersasteria who is always there to support me!). Remember that my native language is French, so don't be so mean if i made mistakes!
Feel free to like, share, comment and tell me what you think. Send me a message if you want to be added to the taglist for my next work!
Word count: 2300 Warning: angst, mention of pregnancy, small mention of blood, mention of placental abruption Pairing : harry holland Request: yes!
ღღღ
You didn't expect to be pregnant with twins at your age. The announcement of your pregnancy had also surprised more than one. Despite her support, Nikki Holland had still given the discourse on the importance of safe sex to her son. But Harry had given a more than mature speech in defense of both of you. He was able to prove to his family and to yours that you were ready and that the decision to continue the pregnancy was not rash.
You were now at the half of your eighth month and nothing could stand in the way of your happiness.
Nothing except maybe this.
Nikki had offered to have lunch with her this afternoon. Despite his work as a photographer, no longer having the company of his four children - since three of them left the family cocoon to live their own life as grown-up adults- weighed heavily on her. You accepted with pleasure. Harry, who was editing his third short film, had left you this morning to go to the edit suite, not without checking that you were okay. So, you joined Nikki at the restaurant. You shine in your long floral maternity dress. In the middle of the meal, you felt a violent contraction.
At almost eight months pregnant, it was no surprise that you could feel twins’ movements. You winced a little at the pain and your mother-in-law put a reassuring hand on your arm.
"Are you alright, darling?" she asking, a little bit worried.
"Yeah, yeah. They've just been in great shape for a few days now."
You apologized and went to the bathroom, struggling to cope with the pain of your contractions. When you noticed that your underwear was soaked with blood, your heart rate increased. You suddenly realized that a series of symptoms corresponded to what you had dreaded early in your pregnancy: the nausea that had occurred last night, the violent contractions since this morning and now the blood. Rather alerting signals that suggested a placental abruption. The obstetrician told you that this was a possible risk since you were having a twin pregnancy. You started to cry and panic for several minutes that Nikki ended up knocking on the bathroom door.
"Darling, is everything good in there?" she asked you with her sweet and worried voice.
"Could you come in please" you sobbed.
"Sure, darling. Are you sure you're feeling okay?"
She stepped carefully into the disabled cabin that you had used for space reasons. Nikki immediately noticed your state of stress. And you just told her everything in strangled sobs. She put a hand behind your back and gave you a very serious look.
"We have to go to the ER. We're going right away."
"I want Harry"
"Don't worry, I'll call him on the way"
And you haven't wasted a minute. Nikki simply left her phone number and table number at the counter before you got into your car. Dom will retrieve Nikki one's later. Holland family been known from the restaurant, the staff were comprehensive about your leaving without paid the bill. When you arrived at the hospital, the nurses greeted you directly and wasted no time either. You were taken to the operating room without being able to get your boyfriend's support.
☙♥❧
Harry arrived within fifteen minutes of receiving the call from his mother. No doubt he would receive a speeding penalty ticket later. He looked like a madman, mortified by worry. He was a bundle of nerves and sarcasm. Her mother was standing by the reception desk, waiting for her. She looked anxious. Tom was there too, trying to contact their father on his phone. When Dom finally picked up, the oldest Holland brother announced the urgency. Harry was shaking with worry.
"What happened mom?"
"I don't really know, baby. We were at the restaurant and the babies kicked. She went to the bathroom and when she didn't come back, I went after her. That's where she asked me to come into the bathroom and you know the rest. I called you straight after that. " Nikki explained, trying to get the stress out of her.
"Oh my god… where is she now?"
"The medical staff took her for surgery. I had to wait here. I couldn't go with her, baby. I’m so sorry."
"Ok ... Ok, I guess I have to wait here. Hope she's okay. God, please make her be alright."
They all made their way to the operating theater hallway for the public to wait for more information. Tom was still on the phone with his father, explaining that it would be better if he stayed at home with Paddy so as not to overcrowd the waiting room. He promised his father that they would all give news as soon as possible. A nurse in a surgical gown entered ten minutes later.
“Who's the father of miss y/l/n's babies?”
“I am. Harry Holland, I’m the father!” he almost screamed and cried at the same time.
“Come with me”
Nikki stood up cautiously and walked over to the nurse. Harry was ready to follow the nurse without giving any further information to his family.
"Excuse me. Can you give us more information on her condition?" Nikki asked
"Sure. We had an emergency caesarean. The babies are fine but there seem to be some complications with the mother. The surgeon is taking care of her."
"Is she going to be okay?" Harry asked hastily.
"She's losing a lot of blood but we're doing our best. Now please follow me." She said to curly one.
☙♥❧
Harry followed her to the nursery. His heart was pounding in mixed emotions. He was so impatient to meet his babies but at the same time he was worried about you. What if you don't survive from the complications? What was to become of him? Would he be able to live without you? Would he be a good father?
His last question vanished when he saw his two little babies in the incubator. Your twins had arrived about fifteen, almost a month earlier than expected, it was normal that they were in an incubator. Harry was going to have to make sure they put on weight. After filling out a few papers, one of the nurses offered to do some skin-to-skin contact with the twins so that they could get to know the three of them. Harry could not but be impatient with this and once prepared he settled into a seat. He was overcome with emotion, understanding how his parents had felt when Sam and him were born. He completely forgets the time, spending several minutes with his sons, one after the other. Harry knew he would place all his love in the two little beings he had taken turns holding in his arms. He was ready to lift mountains, cross the tides. Part of his mind was on you and he truly hoped he could go through life's trials with you. May your family experience all the times they deserve.
The nurse who had brought him to the nursery go up to him with a half-smile. She was sorry to disturb him during this privileged father-son moment.
"Your ... hm ... miss (y/l/n) is in the recovery room. You can go see her now"
Harry's heart burst with relief. He let out a sigh he didn't know he was holding back. The very new father nodded before placing his son in the nurse's arms so that she could put him back in the incubator. He decided to go find his family who had been waiting too long now. When he entered the waiting room, his mother and brother were still seated. Tom had his elbows on his knees, the phone in his hand. He seemed to be talking to someone. When the actor noticed his brother's presence, he spoke to him.
"Hey mate, Sam's here. Wanna talk to him? What's up? Does y/n's alright? And the twins?"
"Too much question. Give me Sam first!"
But the result was exactly the same. Sam asked the same questions as Tom and Harry winced as he tried to answer consensually.
"Hello to you too, brother. The twins are fine. I swear to God Sam, they look like a mini version of us. Two sons by the way ... y/n is fine, she's in the recovery room, I'm going see her right after that. I wanted to talk to mom and Tom first. "
"Glad to know I'm the last to know." Sam informed sarcastically.
"Hey, I was going to call you but I had to, you know ... go meet my sons. Father's job, it seems."
Sam chuckled behind his phone screen as Harry smirked in a mischievous and petty manner. He ended the call with his twin and turned to his mother and Tom. Nikki made her understand that she had heard, she seemed relieved that you were okay.
"Hey, before I go see y/n ... you want to see your grandsons ... and you, your nephew and godson, asshole."
"Harry, language" said Nikki.
"Of course I want to see my godson, stupid"
"Tom!"
The two brothers smile at each other. Just because one became a father and the other was a movie star, didn't mean they were going to change their ways. It was also their way, both of them, to decompress events. Nikki sighed in annoyance but kept quiet, too happy to meet, even only through a window, her first grandchildren. After a brief walk in front of the nursery, Harry announced that he was going to find you, leaving his family to admire your twins. They seemed so impatient to meet them in person but knew they were going to have to wait while you woke up.
☙♥❧
Harry entered the recovery room and walked over to your bed. You seemed to have already woken up from your artificial sleep. He grabbed your hand to give you the support you needed. A feeling of emptiness was felt in you, your gaze landed on your stomach, flatter than you had seen in recent months. Your eyes widened in panic but the reassuring pressure of Harry's hand drew your attention to him.
"They are fine, my love. They are fine. They are in an incubator in the nursery."
You burst into tears. The emotions being so strong.
"I'm so sorry Harry. I'm sorry ..."
“Hey… hey… you don't have to. You're okay… the twins are okay. And I still love you, I love you more than ever."
"Have you seen them?"
"Yes ... ugly like their father" he joked
You chuckled with a few more tears in your voice. You knew he didn't mean it, but humor was Harry's best way to decompress, and it worked on you too.
"My family is here. You scared the hell out of them. I think Sam was about to order a flight to kick your ass."
You chuckled again. It was so impressive to see the love that reigned in this family. You could never have asked for a better way to build your own family. Harry leaned over to kiss you.
"I love you, y/n. You are my world. you three are my world now"
"I love you more, Harry."
You stayed a few more days before you could get out of the hospital. You had decided to introduce the twins after their own discharge from the hospital. That's why, after almost a month of going back and forth to the nursery, you could finally bring your twins home. So you organized a little visit to Harry's parents.
☙♥❧
The sun was shining on London and you squeezed the doorknob of one of the maxi-cozy, Harry carrying your second son as you opened the door to the Holland family home. You were amazed at the ease with which Harry assumed his role as father. He was doing so well that you fell in love with him again.
"Is there anyone here?" He asked
"We're all in the garden, buddy!" Tom said
"You are obviously in the kitchen, dummy"
"For god's sake, Harry. Come into this fucking garden and let us see the twins!"
You let out a frank laugh as you mentally noted that you were going to have to have a conversation with Harry and his brothers about the vocabulary they were using.
You are therefore entering the garden. You noticed right away that Sam had come all the way from Scotland. Harry must have organized this with him too. You smiled, Nikki rushed over to help you with the change bags and you thanked him.
"So where is my godson?" Tom asked in the same way he did at the FFH premiere when he was looking for Jake Gyllenhal.
"Where's mine?" Sam asked too.
You approached Sam, putting the maxycosy on the table to unbuckle the seat belt and take your son in your arms. Harry was doing the same with your second baby.
"I'm happy to introduce you y/s/n"
"And there's y/s/n(2)." Harry added, so proud.
Everyone raved about the twins as you wipe away a tear, happy and proud. You were so moved by the love that reigned. Harry came to kiss you on the forehead, you closed your eyes, appeased by his gesture. The world could only turn better in his company.
"It's family portrait time!" Nikki said, her camera in her hands. "Tom, please get closer to your brother. Sam, stand next to y / n"
You all followed Nikki's instructions, who couldn't be more than happy to capture this important moment, bringing her work and family life together. You all smiled as you and Harry were in the center of the photo, carrying your twins in your arms. And at that moment, you were sure that your life could not be more beautiful than at this moment.

I just finished hosting a 15-person game of Mafia for some friends. One tradition we have for these games is that every death is accompanied by some themed narration, so for my game I opted to spice it up with some art on top. Had to draw it real quick since I didn't know for sure who was going to die next until it happened.
The game's theme was "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure", with the hidden subtheme that all the roles (stands) were named after They Might Be Giants (@tmbgareok) songs! A list of their powers, links to songs, and a recap of the game under the cut.
01) Mogis - 「Flo Wheeler」
02) TD260 - 「Working Undercover For The Man」
03) JGH27 - 「Good To Be Alive」
04) Raya - 「Stone Cold Coup D'Etat」
05) KK / Sahrimnir - 「Thinking Machine」
06) Spontaneous Combustion - 「The Statue Got Me High」
07) Leviwulf - 「Push Back The Hands」
08) DarkFalco - 「I Am Alone」
09) Deli064 - 「Doctor Worm」
10) Fedaykin - 「Letterbox」
11) Surge - 「I Am Alone」
12) Wikxen - 「Put Your Hand Inside The Puppet Head」
13) Minby - 「Where Your Eyes Don't Go」
14) Bel - 「(She Was A) Hotel Detective」
15) SnakeInABox - 「By The Time You Get This」
Bold roles were Jotunheim (Mafia), normal roles were Johnsburg (Town), and italicized roles were third parties. (Jotunheim is the realm of giants from Norse mythology! The mafia were, in fact, giants! And the town's job was to figure out who might be giants! And the two sides were Jo and Jo! JOKES!)
「Flo Wheeler」 was a town role with a power that was pretty dangerous to the user- if anyone happened to be watching or tracking when a kill took place at night, Mogis would look like they'd visited the target that night in addition to whoever actually did. It could potentially be used to catch a mafioso in a lie, but otherwise it was more of an obstacle for the town to overcome- a miller-type role.

「Working Undercover For The Man」 was a third-party role working for the Speedwagon Foundation to perform a threat assessment. 「Good To Be Alive」 was a spin on the usual town doctor role- normally, a doctor can target a player and prevent their death if they would die that night. But... 「Stone Cold Coup D'Etat」 was a third party with an unusual win condition. They had to recruit a certain number of people to a private side-chat- and then make sure all those people got killed. 「Thinking Machine」 was a town role with a mysterious purpose that didn't seem to make much sense at first. Sah would get, every morning, a strange series of numbers and letters of uncertain origin. It was information, somehow, but how to use it?
♪ Tape has brightening arm connect (Wait, that didn't make sense.) / Self-paint lever itching does! (That made even less sense!) ♪
「The Statue Got Me High」 was a mafia power. As the song describes, the victim is enthralled by the monolith and forced to obey its commands, until their eventual death. That is, Spont could recruit a player to the mafia, but they'd die one night later- and if he wasn't careful, he could die and his recruit would flip back.
♪ And now it is your turn (your turn to hear the stone and then your turn to burn) / The stone, it calls to you (you can't refuse to do the things it tells you to) ♪
「Push Back The Hands」 was a passive ability that caused anything that would happen to Levi- a nightkill, an execution, some other power- to be delayed by one day, giving him some time to react. He'd be told who it was that targeted him, so going after him as mafia was risky.
♪ Screeching tires but never a collision / Endless day without a sunset provision ♪
「I Am Alone」 was a weird one. See, DarkFalco, who was mafia, didn't have a stand as such. She was the stand- and she was the stand of Surge, who was town. They were linked together in everything, meaning the mafia had to work to keep Surge alive on top of their own people. She could send messages to Surge at night to mess with him, though.
♪ Before you fire I should inform you / One of us is a double ♪
「Doctor Worm」 had no real special abilities. His ability was to be pretty good at playing the drums, a power that had absolutely no relevance in a game of Mafia.
♪ I'm not a real doctor, but I am a real worm I am an actual worm ♪
「Letterbox」 was a mafia ability that let Fedaykin pick another player, and offer that player a chance to deliver a private message to one other player of their choice. He could see the "secret" communications, though, and once per game he could edit the message before delivering it.
♪ I'll never know what you'll find when you open up your letter box tomorrow ♪
「Put Your Hand Inside The Puppet Head」 is a classically mafia ability, but in the hands of a town player: the ability to force another player to vote for another. Normally the manipulated person isn't allowed to say what happened, but there was no such restriction here- confusion's no good for the town.
♪ Memo to myself: do the dumb things i gotta do: Touch the puppet head ♪
「Where Your Eyes Don't Go」 let Minby pick someone else to watch him at night. If anyone visited him to target him with an ability, the person he designated would be told the names of those people. A nasty trap for the mafia, as long as Minby doesn't pick a mafioso to share the information with.
♪ Where your eyes don't go, a part of you is hovering / It's a nightmare that you'll never be discovering / You're free to come and go / Or talk like Kurtis Blow / But there's a pair of eyes in back of your head ♪
「(She Was A) Hotel Detective」 was a very powerful town role- Bel was the cop, and could scan another player's alignment at night, plus track or watch them. Except... not directly. She couldn't scan players- she could scan hotel rooms, and if other players didn't check into the hotel at night or give up their room numbers, her information was useless.
Here are the room numbers, in order: Levi (1) Snake (2) JGH (3) TD (4) Spont (5) Sah (6) Deli (7) Fed (8) Minby (9) Falco/Surge (10) Raya (11) Wikxen (12) Mogis (13).
(Oh, and Thinking Machine's codes were actually encoded versions of her results, and Sah would get a weaker version of her power if she ever died.)
♪ She's got her ear to the walls / And she's tappin' the calls / If you've got a secret, boy / Forget about it! ♪
「By The Time You Get This」 imbued its wielder with the incredible powers of... an estate lawyer! Which meant Snake could leave a will behind when he died, naming another player and casting a vote on them from beyond the grave the next day.

So! Here's how it all shook out.
Day 1: The first day is always kind of a tossup, since no one has any information yet, and everyone's just trying to verbally stir the pot. Levi soft-claims his role right out the gate, warning town not to try targeting him or else. Mogis is executed, casting a vote on himself to save the town the trouble of dealing with Flo Wheeler.
Night 1: Spont uses the statue to recruit Wikxen, at the same time that Wikxen forces Snake to vote for Levi. So, now the usually-scum power in the hands of town is in the hands of scum for real. Bel scans room 3, and learns that its occupant is innocent. Raya recruits DarkFalco, and accidentally recruits Surge alongside her, to her surprise. JGH tries protecting Levi, to test if his claim was a bluff.
Day 2: Levi tries to push JGH on the basis of having targeted him last night, but everyone agrees to wait and see if Levi actually dies first. Votes circle around Wikxen and Raya for suspicious-seeming defensiveness on Day 1, and ultimately, when it seems like Wikxen's about to be executed, a small group of players flip their votes at the last minute and vote Raya out while she's asleep and can't defend herself. Rude! She was poised to win the game for herself and the town, since she'd convinced Falco that the mafia would benefit somehow if they were all recruited.
Night 2: The mafia kills Minby- and Minby opts to tell have Fed watch him, wasting his power. Lucky for town, though, Bel happens to scan room 8, confirming Fed is mafia since he volunteered his room number. Wikxen's coat contains a furnace where there used to be a guy.
Day 3: Wikxen forced Snake to vote for J, making him look bad- but Sah begins sharing his bizarre results from Thinking Machine, and Bel confirms that they're a log of her detective power. Then she points out that Fed is mafia, and the town falls in line behind the accusation with Sah to confirm.
Night 3: Spont uses the statue to recruit Bel, to keep any more problematic scans from ruining them. Bel, before being recruited, scans room 10, though- and now the town knows there's something funky with Falco and Surge, because Sah gets the results and knows what they mean. Due to their mismatched alignments, though, the encoded version is still misleading, so there's wiggle room. TD scans Spont and learns his role name.
Day 4: Spont concocts a daring scheme. He has Bel lie and claim to have received an incriminating result on him- so that Bel will be caught in said lie when Sah produces his own results. The plan is to frame Bel, who's a dead girl walking anyway, and clear Spont's name going forward. But the town talks themselves into explaining away the contradiction- even when TD reveals Spont's stand name, and Spont denies it outright and claims 「Combustible Head」, a fake vigilante (town nightkiller) role instead, the town explains away that, too. After a few more people claim, TD260 has completed his mission- his correct guess wins him the game and he leaves. Spont cleverly excuses himself by claiming that TD lied about his role to get him to claim his "real" one. Afterwards, the town ends up executing Deli064 instead, for some reason- poor Doctor Worm!
Night 4: The evidence vanishes from Bel's charred and smoking chair- because JGH tries to protect her at the same time the mafia are killing him! Bel is a ghost now, and the town never finds out her alignment.
Day 5: Bel not dying poses a problem for the mafia, because Spont was supposed to prove his own innocence by pretending to kill her! The mafia tries to misdirect by having Bel lie again, claiming to scan room 10 when she actually scanned room 6, Sah. Ultimately, though, the town is able to coordinate behind killing Surge and Falco, which- because they're linked- is a compromise option that both parties are happy with (when perhaps they shouldn't be).
Night 5: Since Bel is technically dead, Spont recruits again, grabbing Sah and removing the threat of scans entirely. If he'd recruited Snake instead, they'd have won on the spot, since only his will-vote prevented them from winning instantly due to outnumbering the town. We move on to a somewhat redundant...
Day 6: It's now down to five players- Spont, Sah, and Bel vs Levi and Snake. The mafia technically outnumber the town, but Bel's vote doesn't count, and Sah's going to burn the next night- so the town can still win by forcing a tie and then using Snake's By The Time You Get This power to place a vote on Spont. But that's if they can figure it out and get on the same page, and... they don't. There's no way there could be three mafia still alive, so the mafia are able to sow total confusion and ultimately get the town all voting for Bel... who's a ghost, and can't vote or be executed, which the town doesn't know because JGH died before he could fully explain. The execution defaults to Snake, and the mafia win the game.

Unrequited (Atsumu x Reader)

I stared at the ceiling of my room debating on if I was healthy enough for school. As I sat up my eyes drifted to the yellow petals overflowing from the trash can in the corner.
"Sunflowers," I mumbled as I looked at the petals.
They were supposed to represent happiness but as I looked at the blood flecked petals all I felt was overwhelming sadness. Summer break ended today so maybe I could get away with an I forgot.
"Yeah that sounds good," I said as I got out of bed and stretched.
I felt a cough bubble in my throat as I rushed to the bathroom I placed my hand over my mouth coughing into it. Blood seeped between my fingers as I felt the soft touch of flower petals in my palm. I sighed as the coughing subsided I put the petals on the sink counter. I cleaned the blood on my hands and face before heading back to my room. My limbs already felt weak as I walked it was a struggle to make the ten steps to my room.
"No school today," I sighed out as I laid down on my mattress. I let my eyes slowly slide closed as I fell asleep.
"Y/n," In my sleepy haze I could hear someone saying my name.
"Hey y/n wake up," I slowly opened my eyes and looked to the side. My eyes caught sight of grey hair and eyes looking at me in concern.
"Samu? What are you doin here?" My voice was thick with sleep and my speech was slightly slurred.
"What am I doing here? You haven't answered anyone's calls or texts! I was worried so I left practice to check on you," I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "You left practice? Kita's gonna be mad at you," I sat up which caused Osamu to put a hand infront of me and push me back down.
"He's the one who let me go. If anything Tsumu was mad he also didn't get to come," I coughed at that which Osamu sighed at. "Are you sick?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"No I'm fi-" "Don't lie to me," I snapped my head towards him and he was staring back at me.
"I-I'm not lying," he shook his head and lifted his palm. Staring back at me was a single yellow petal dotted with red "Yes, you are," I flinched as I realized he'd figured it out.
"How long?" Osamu was quieter now as he spoke. "A year but it didn't get bad until the beginning of summer break," I whispered back as he placed the petal down on the ground.
"Who is it?" I felt everything I'd kept bottled up break down and tears fill my eyes "You already know," my voice cracked as Osamu sighed and pulled me towards him.
He wrapped both arms around me and pushed my face into the crook of his neck. "I know," he mumbled it as confirmation to my previous statement.
I started coughing again pulling back I covered my mouth with my hand. Osamu's eyes widened when he noticed more blood on the petals as they slipped through my fingers. I started heaving as more petals came up. Osamu left the room coming back with a cup of water and a rag. I put my hands down and watched the petals cover my bedsheets there was a thin red layer covering the petals making them look a reddish orange. I didn't need to look in a mirror to know there was a trail of blood leaking down the side of my mouth.
"Jesus...," Osamu spoke as he looked at me. He took the rag and cleaned my face and hands before giving me the glass of water.
"You let it get this bad?" I could see the concern laced in his grey eyes eyebrows furrowed downwards and mouth pulled down in a frown.
"I didn't realize it was this bad," my throat was scratchy as I spoke taking huge glups of water to sooth the ache the petals left behind.
"What are you going to do?" He asked "The same thing I've been doing. Try to forget about it," He blinked at my response "Is that why you've been ignoring Tsumu?" I nodded slowly. "It hasn't worked though,"
Before we could continue Osamu's phone rang. He answered it slowly "yeah?"
"Don't yeah me Samu! You've been gone for an hour! Get back here!" I could hear Atsumu's yelling through the phone. I got up and heading to the hallway with the glass tucked into my hand.
Suddenly the petals came back in my throat and I started coughing. The glass slipped from my fingers as I collapsed to the ground. It shattered next to me and a few shards cut my hands as I placed them on the floor. The petals came out red instead of the normal bright yellow causing small pools of blood to form around them.
I couldn't breath as I heard my bedroom door get thrown open Osamu stood there wide eyed with terror lacing his features. "Y/n! Hey stay with me!" He dropped to my level ignoring the glass that dug into his uniform pants and probably cut his legs. I saw the fear in his eyes deepen when he saw the amount of blood on the ground.
"Y/n!? What's happening! What's going on with y/n!?" I could still hear Atsumu's yelling despite my coughing. Osamu rapidly hung up and dialed someone else.
"Hello? My friend started coughing up blood and petals and I'm think she's dying please send help!" I could hear the panic in his voice as my eyes started to close. I finally stopped coughing and took deep wheezing breaths. Black spots covered my vision as a wave of exhaustion hit my body.
Osamu took my hand "Hey y/n no. Stay awake," I slowly shook my head in response. "Can't. I'm tired Samu," I mumbled at him. "You have to," Was the last thing he said before darkness over took my vision.
"Remove them!" "Sir, she has to make that decision not you," I let out a light groan as I slowly opened my eyes. Atsumu stood next to my bedside clearly yelling at a doctor.
He looked at me giving the doctor a chance to slip out of the room. "Osamu told me. Who is it?" I flinched at the anger in his voice.
A sense of relief filled me when I realized Osamu hadn't told him everything. "I- I can't tell you," I whispered. "No! No bullshit! Tell me!" I shook my head at him. "Is it Kita? Or Suna? No its Ojiro isn't it or-" I cut him off before he could continue. "It's you!" I yelled back at him.
"Me?" He asked slowly. I nodded in response "You can't love me," I sighed looking down "But I do," I felt those flowers again in my lungs clawing their way up to my throat.
"Well stop loving me!" I balled my fists together as a flash of anger struck me. "I ALREADY TRIED!" my throat burned in protest of the yelling. "I TRIED AND TRIED AND TRIED!" "AND IT NEVER WORKED!" tears rolled down my face as I looked at him. His eyes narrowed at me "I can't love you. So get them removed," Atsumu left the room after that leaving me sobbing into my hands.
Osamu walked in soon after "y/n," he whispered my name as he got closer to me. The doctor came in and looked at me sadly. "Are you sure about this?" He asked. All I could manage was a weak nod as I looked at the hospital bed.
"Do either of you know someone who's gone through this procedure before?" Before I could answer Osamu had said something. "Yes...My brother," I looked at Osamu in shock but he was looking away from me.
"Right well I'm going to go check the x-rays and come back and we can schedule the surgery then," I nodded at the doctor as he handed me a glass of water before leaving the room again.
"Atsumu...had Hanahaki Disease?" Osamu finally looked back at me slowly nodding. "He never told me who caused it and he got it removed before telling anyone," I sighed as I looked away.
"You know Samu I used to like sunflowers," I whispered staring out the window. "They were never your favorite flower though," He responded back to me. "You remember?" I turned to him as I asked to discover he was already looking at me. "Yep. Buttercups," I laughed as I nudged him with my shoulder "You only remember because it has butter in the name," He chuckled back at me "You caught me," we smiled at eachother as the doctor came back.
The doctor had a sad look in his eyes as he looked at me. "I don't have good news for you," The smile on my face fell as I looked at the doctor. "The disease has progressed too far for us to remove it," I gasped "W-what?" The doctor looked at me as I felt tears slip down my cheeks "I'm sorry but there's no way we could remove them without killing you," I turned and buried my face into Osamu's chest to hide my tears.
The doctor left as Osamu ran his fingers through my hair and down my back. "Samu...," I whispered and he hummed at me "I just wanted to say thank you for being there and I love you," I mumbled as I began drifting off to sleep the last thing I registered was Osamu responding to me. "...Love you too y/n,"
*third person p.o.v*
"You know Samu this is my fault," Osamu's eyes glanced to his twin who was sadly looking down.
"If I hadn't been a coward and told her...She would still be here and I could still love," He watched Atsumu set a bouquet of buttercups against the cool marble infront of him.
"Her favorite...Maybe that'll comfort her," Atsumu walked away while Osamu looked back at the grave.
Y/n l/n DOB: (b/d) 'She loved until the end'
Osamu felt a cough in his throat as a small yellow flower landed in his palm. It was covered in blood as he stared at it. It matched the ones in the bouquet and a sad laugh left Osamu throat.
"Buttercups huh...," He let the flower leave his palm with the wind as he followed his brother a small sad smile on his face as he whispered one last thing to the wind.
"I love you y/n,"

" this is my will so shall it be"
A couple months later
It's been a couple months since that night that's strange thing about it is how I ever got there the only thing I remember is that I was just standing there crying I wasn't sure wasn't sure why.
I have this terrible feeling inside of me that something is missing a big part of my life it almost feels like light in my life is gone and all that all that is remaining is darkness
I fell asleep in class mean there's this beautiful girl with brown and tiny bit of red with beautiful Blue eyes
The Bell rang it is time for HPE

" I know that you know what I'm talking about you erased my memories to protect me"
