Set in an alternate timeline 1985, the prophecy has been delivered - and thanks to a new law mandating all prophecies be shared to the Ticker network, only a few hours from being broadcast to everyone in magical Britain simultaneously. Explore the hottest and most untested new magic, technomancy, and what it means for your character's bodily integrity; do away with old-fashioned quill pens in favour of instant communication through their Ticker; explore the murky depths of what it is to be human in a rapidly changing world, all against the backdrop of a raging civil war.

Virtual Hogwarts, Ever After (VHEA) is a play-by-post, text-based Hogwarts roleplaying site. Here, you'll create a character and craft their story by collaborating with other members to write roleplays. Your character begins their journey in the year before they attend Hogwarts. You'll write their story as they advance through the years, from sorting day all the way up to seventh year and beyond. At Hogwarts, there are a variety of offerings, including lessons, house quidditch teams, the dueling chamber with an annual dueling tournament, student clubs, and more! VHEA is a continuation of our community's old forum, Virtual Hogwarts (VH). VH began in 2003 on the premise that Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort in 1998, destroying Hogwarts in the process. Five years later, the school was rebuilt and reopened its doors to the young witches and wizards of the United Kingdom and Ireland. Since then, the Death Eaters have undergone various changes in leadership and at last it appears they've disbanded, with other conflicts of good and evil in the wizarding world just beginning to come to light. The community moved over to VHEA at the end of 2019, with a new timeline beginning immediately post-HP7 (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). However, since an "EA year" typically lasts about 21 weeks, time on VHEA moves faster than real time. It is the turn of the millennium now, but soon enough we'll start seeing Harry and his friends grow older.

The Potters died on Halloween night, 1981. James, Lily, and Harry all perished when Voldemort ambushed their home in Godric’s Hollow. At least that’s the story that spread while celebrations and lamentations erupted throughout the Wizarding World. But, as is often the case, there’s much more to the story – so much more.

Before the dust settled, Dumbledore whisked the Potters far from Godric’s Hollow. They were given new names and new identities. For 10 years, they lived under the guise of the Holloways. Lily and James allowed their names and Harry’s name to die that Halloween night. As the Potters were settled into their new lives, so too were the Longbottoms. It was a small price for them to pay because evil got vanquished. All seemed well and all was well until Harry received his letter to Hogwarts.

All is not well. Each year Voldemort grows stronger. Each year he gathers more followers. The Second Wizarding is about to begin. What side are your characters on and what adventures will they face? Did Sirius Black truly trigger something sinister? Dangers and darkness lurk all around and meld with hope and happiness. Truth comes out – not limited to the fact that James and Lily are alive. Join us and find out!

I cannot believe it has taken me this long, but hey, I've never put a discord server together before. To anyone who has messaged me requesting an invite, I will be sending links your way very very soon! Make sure to message me requesting a link if you haven't done so already!

To anyone who has not heard about this server before:

This will be a advlit rp server that currently has all canon characters available. There is much more info on the server itself but I've left a brief synopsis of the plot for people to gauge interest here first. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, send me a message to join the server!

Plot summary:

Lord Voldemort has been defeated. The Second Wizarding War is over. The Ministry of Magic has convened and decided that the population of the Wizarding Society of Britain is in danger. For too long before the war, witches and wizards have struggled to bear more magical children, and even fewer witches and wizards are being born to muggles. Hence, the Marriage Law.

The Ministry deems it necessary to ensure the future of the Magical Population by expediting what, in their eyes, would happen anyways. So the law is set forth, all witches and wizards of marriageable age must be paired, one man and one woman, to be married and have at least one child. The Ministry sets forth a timeline all of Britain's Wizarding Population must adhere to and that includes the seventh years at Hogwarts.

Even the returning students of Harry Potter's year, who have been asked to return to the school for a final year so they may receive their final year of magical training and take their NEWT exams.

And so Harry Potter and his friends, and possible enemies, return to Hogwarts, joining the students of the last sixth year, to be come seventh years once more, except this time they're all engaged.

Good had defeated evil. The war was over. Peace had been restored. Or so they had all thought.

Just when the Wizarding World thought they had escaped the unrelenting suffering brought about by the Second Wizarding War, the Ministry of Magic made a decision that would affect the entire wizarding community of Britain, dragging them right back into perpetual distress.

After many witches and wizards sacrificed their health, their sanity, their loved ones, or for some even, their lives, the council of wizards that govern magical Britain decided that, for the greater good, they should sacrifice one more thing. Their choice.

The choice of spouse, whether one would have one at all, is a decidedly personal one. A spouse can change the course of one’s life, or even, say, determine one’s fate. It’s a very important choice, indeed.

Choices are a novelty that seem unattainable to the adults of the wizarding world. After years of being controlled by fear of being wiped out by the Dark Arts, why should they expect to be given freedom by those whose role is to protect their society?

Who should value freedom when they have been given the honor of leading the movement to save the magical population? Certainly not the young witches and wizards who are of age at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They’ll bear their responsibility with poise and pride, right?

In Forced Fates, we’ll explore how young adults, who have experienced so much darkness so early in life, would handle having their lives overturned, yet again, by a law that demands every magical persons, over the age of seventeen, must arrange plans to enter into matrimonial unions that will produce a generation of witches and wizards stronger than any that have come before.

This RP will take place in our discord server in an advanced literate style of writing. Full list of rules and an expanded plot can be found in the server as well as a full list of characters, both taken and available.
