A Mandalorian Halfa Jedi?
I am thinking... about my Danny Phantom x Star Wars AU again. I mentioned this in the Haunting Heroes discord server, but imagine this:
Danny gets lost in the Star Wars universe, maybe they're part of the same universe, maybe not. We know that Earth technically exists there, so it's possible. Nonetheless, Danny gets lost and is eventually picked up by the Jedi. It is during the Clone Wars era, at the height of the war. Ectoplasm either functions the same as the Force out in larger space, or it easily passes off as the Force. Therefore, Danny is considered Force-sensitive and brought to the Jedi council.
He's far too old, older than even Anakin was, but he already displays some skill with the blade (thanks to his mom's training), and he's far too powerful with the Force to leave for the Sith or Dark Side users running about to find him. Those like Count Dooku or Asajj Ventress or whoever Dooku's master is (and, depending on the timeline, Maul and his brother Savage as well).
It's decided that Obi Wan should train him, since he did well with Anakin despite Anakin's older age for a youngling and lack of familiarity with Jedi customs and culture. As well as Obi Wan's own young age as a Padawan himself at the time. Surely, Obi Wan could whip him into shape and they need all the help they can get on the field.
Anakin does not like Danny at first. Not at all. He might have joked all he liked beforehand about Obi Wan getting another padawan, but seeing it happen is an entirely different experience. Danny gets along well with Obi Wan, with his dry, witty humor and his tendency for unorthodox strategy. Worse still, Ahsoka likes Danny. These two are peas in a pod, partners in crime. It feels like he's been forgotten and replaced and by someone seemingly better.
And then one day, when the 212th and the 501st are stationed together, he finds Danny shaking with night terrors, the Dark Side so strong in him Anakin is literally freezing from the cold. It's only then that he understands Danny a little bit better, and sees himself in this kid. Danny fights the Dark Side within him just like he does, and he never lets it consume him. Maybe for once, he can learn a little something from this kid too, and not let it overwhelm him.
And here is the part where I realized a golden opportunity:
What if the Jedi think Danny is a Mandalorian that was cast out for being Force-sensitive? Danny has an affinity for weapons beyond the blade, like cannons and guns and snipers. He talks about how his family taught him to use these weapons, that he's known this all his life. He talks about how his family wears suits all the time and hardly ever takes them off. He talks about always being afraid to reveal his powers to his parents, and how ultimately he ran away because of them.
Oh all the scenarios that could come out of this~
But now I'm also thinking about how strong Danny would feel in the Force. How much Danny could do on the battlefield because now he doesn't have to hold back. Droids might have more intelligence than a lot of sentients give them credit for, but if it's between the very alive, flesh and bone, clones of the Grand Republic Army and the Separatists' metal droids, Danny is absolutely going to be ruthless if it means the clones are safe.
Danny can literally control the weather. Imagine what happens when Danny creates an electrical storm for the first time to take down an enemy starship and the clones just look between themselves, whispering about how: "I didn't know Jedi could do that." "Is that how the Force works?" "Kriff if I know-"
And that's another thing! Clones! Danny would be absolutely appalled that so many clones were created and their freedom at the end of the Clones Wars is still up in the air.
It also ties beautifully with his love for space and now he's living the dream! Except space isn't what he thought it would be. And there are planets out here that have barbaric standards. It's the adventure of a lifetime! But there's a part of him that still wants to go home.
Just- all the possibilities and shenanigans this could bring. ✨

Chapter 11
Pairings: Obi Wan/FemReader
Warnings/Tags: slow burn, explicit content, SMUT
Chapter Length: 6K
Description: There are only so many excuses a master and padawan can make to kiss under "extenuating circumstances" before circumstances stop arising and start being created. You are an expert at your craft - a Jedi knight in service as a spy for the Republic. When your former master Obi Wan joins you on a mission, it's clear things aren't the same as they once were. The trials you face together may break your bond, or turn it into something else entirely.
☆☆☆
You stare at the door for a long time after it closes.
When the shock starts to wear off, the regret seeps in. There's so much more you should have asked him; so much you should have told him. Instead of almost silently accepting the end of your friendship, why hadn't you tried to make him slow down and talk to you?
Your eyes drift downward as you feel the truth settle into the pit of your stomach: You'd known as well as he had, saying anything more would only have led to further pain.
As you turn away, your blank gaze slides from the door and falls to the small table nearby. On top of the table, you keep a little bowl with trinkets and a few scrap pieces for your speeder bike. Beside these items sits a heap of cloth, which you don't recognize. You draw nearer, noticing that it's wrapped neatly around a cylindrical object. Picking it up and pulling back the cloth, you're taken aback to see the hilt of a lightsaber. Your lightsaber.
You slide it out of the fabric, feeling the weight of it in your hand for a moment, then place it delicately down on the tabletop just to stare at it.
You'd been facing Dooku when you'd lost it, completely on the opposite side of the outpost from where you'd been rescued. He would have been the only one there to retrieve it. And yet, he'd told you at that time he'd believed you were dead.
Your chest suddenly aches.
You tell yourself not to think about him, fleeing for his own life, half-dead himself, but stopping to pick up the only remnant he'd thought he would have of your existence.
Facing away from the table, you shut your eyes and do the same thing you've been doing for the past two days - immersing yourself in the force with a fervent determination you've never known before.
Your eyes flutter open again. You look out the window. The snow whirls.
Despite your better judgment - despite the fact that you know he'll feel it - you reach into the force and try to sense him. His speeder should be halfway back to base by now. You might not sense him at all. But you want to try.
To your immense surprise, you feel him instantly, his presence not halfway back to base as expected. In fact, he's not far away at all.
Pacing back to the door as quickly as your legs can carry you, you pull the handle and wince as the spray of icy wind crashes against your face again. His figure emerges slowly from the white abyss, one of his arms upheld to break the lashes of snow whipping around him. He's only a few feet away, but it's still hard to make out the shape of him through the dense flakes of ice.
"I don't suppose," he shouts over the rising gusts, "I could trouble you for a ride back to the main base?"
You wrap one arm around yourself, shivering and leaning out of the doorway to wave him in. "Come inside!"
He finishes his trek, entering your house once again,  and you swiftly close the door behind him. After catching his breath, he lowers his hood again and sighs.
"I'm sorry to impose. I didn't realize the storm would be so..." He gestures to the window to indicate the ferocity of the wind beating away at your home. "The speeder bike I rented can hardly lift off the ground."
You give a shake of your head. "You aren't imposing. I don't think anyone expected it to be this bad. But I can't give you a ride back to base. I loaned my ship to a friend off world."
When he raises a brow, you shrug. "They needed a ship, and I didn't expect to be leaving anytime soon. My speeder is all I have at the moment."
Brushing a hand through the front of his snow-dusted hair, he sends a worried look off to the side. You stand, a bit stiffly, not quite knowing what to do or say. You try another solution. "I suppose you'll need to call someone at base for a pick up."
He doesn't answer for a few beats. Then he shrugs off his coat again, placing it gently on the bench. He seems to hesitate when looking downward, and you realize he must have noticed that you'd found your lightsaber.
He flicks his gaze back up to you. "I would prefer not to. This trip wasn't exactly... above board."
You'd started to back toward the kettle you'd had boiling before his arrival, but that makes you stop in your tracks. "Oh?"
You pose it half as a question, half as a statement, not wanting to force an explanation. He clears his throat, though, correctly reading your tone as curious.
"I was meant to deliver a mission report on Coruscant, then return to the Gaulus sector for further duties. But I left my duties in the hands of Commander Cody for the time being, and I... took a short leave. For my health."
"I... see," you answer, turning away and walking to the stovetop, fiddling with the knobs while you process his words. His second lie of omission to the council. You consider this, not saying anything in return.
He hovers at your home's entrance, and you both listen as the long-range holocomm goes off again, detailing the inclement weather. The storm is worsening.
The kettle is warm again by the time the report ends, and when you turn back to him with a reheated cup of tea, he gratefully accepts it, taking a seat in your kitchen when you motion for him to do so.
"Isn't there a friend you could call?" you ask, sitting down across from him at the small table. "Someone you trust not to share your... change in plans?"
He strokes a hand down his chin just once, shaking his head. "Anakin is on assignment, several days away."
It's been a long time since you'd heard mention of Mace Windu's former padawan. The young war hero had very nearly become Obi Wan's padawan when they'd first met, but the council had seen the bond between the two following Qui Gon's untimely death and had thought it better not to encourage their closeness, placing him with Master Windu instead. An unlikely friendship had still unfolded, despite their efforts, and you'd often joked that the Skywalker boy had always been Obi Wan's second padawan.
You want to ask more about Anakin, but that sort of lighthearted talk doesn't seem relevant at the moment. Instead, you sip your tea and think.
You try to keep your eyes locked onto the drink in your hand, instead of roaming across the lines in his face. His features are drawn down, stern and contemplative, and you want to paint over every inch of him, getting a second chance at your last encounter.
Clearing your throat, you try to force nonchalance into your voice. "Well, these storms don't usually last long. A few hours, or a day at most. You're welcome to stay until-"
You quiet down on the word "until", both of you listening as the holocomm goes off again, this time with an even more severe warning. The storm is now expected to last nearly a full rotation. Neither of you makes a comment right away, though the shift in energy is palpable. Ilum's rotations are sixty-six hours.
When the broadcast ends, Obi Wan's eyes flicker up to yours with a far-off look. They're a little dulled, his expression restrained and distant. It's the look he often holds when giving orders. The look that duty brushes over him.
"Perhaps I will make a call, after all."
Standing up, you start to make your way over to the holocomm to help him dial out, but you freeze in place when the lights cut out, and the low electronic hum throughout your home suddenly drops into silence. You look around the darkened room, then back at him, catching only the faintest outline of his expression in the soft light coming through the window.
"Don't worry," you assure him, once the initial jolt of susprise has worn off. "I have a generator."
"Oh," he answers, the shadow of his face peering around your dim surroundings. A few seconds later, he adds, "good."
A few seconds after that, he gives you a mildly concerned look that has you crossing the room to check the fuse panel.
"Which definitely should have started up by now," you say, opening the cover. The normally illuminated buttons are completely dark.
"Damn," you whisper to yourself. Then you turn back to Obi Wan, who's also now standing.
"I'm sure it's just a loose connection somewhere," you tell him, reaching for your own jacket and pulling it over your robes. "I'll have it fixed in no time. Don't worry."
He gives you an uncertain look. It's the same one he always employs when you're failing to sell him a lie. But he doesn't argue as you finish dressing and head back to the door.
After he's followed you into the small maintenance shack behind your home despite your insistence for him to stay inside, Obi Wan finally gives his opinion.
"That does not look good."
You glance up at him from your kneeling position on the ground, flashlight fixed on the gnarled remnants of the main rotor. "No, it's-"
You're interrupted by the sound of skittering feet, and you jerk the light to follow the movement, catching the barest glimpse of grey flesh along with a flash of multiple eyes. Yelping at the sight, you tip back onto your feet to stand up.
Before you can so much as bend your knees, a pulse of energy rips you backward, and the creature on the opposite side of the shed crashes into the wall with a dry slapping sound. Obi Wan lunges in front of you, lightsaber brandished, and you belatedly realize he's force-pushed you to the ground.
"Obi Wan, it's a lisk!" you tell him, getting up to stand beside him. "It's just a lisk."
You've managed to pin the reptilian-looking thing under the light, finally, and you both watch as it drops from the wall and scrambles out of the maintenance shack, through a hole in the corner. The animals aren't dangerous, or at least, certainly not a threat to a Jedi. You find them creepy, but they aren't really more than a nuisance.
Obi Wan would have - should have sensed this. But he hadn't responded to the danger. His response had been to your yelp of surprise. As you look at him, a loose lock of hair threatening to dip into his eyes, his teeth jutted in what you'd very nearly call a snarl, snd his body held in a distinct Ataru pose, the meaning of what he'd said earlier - about not working together - is suddenly ringing out to you with crystalline clarity.
And he knows it. He silences the hum of his weapon, deactivating it and clipping it back to his belt with one smooth, hurried movement.
"I didn't realize it was- " He starts and stops, tenses his shoulders, then drops them. "I'm not familiar."
Neither of you addresses the fact that he'd thrown you to the ground. Neither of you says anything about his taking an offensive attack position that he hasn't used since before you'd met - since before the death of his master.
You gather yourself, trying to move past the discomfort of the moment by looking back down at the torn mess of metal on the ground. "They're common, here, but not dangerous," you tell him. "Not unless you're a generator."
Obi Wan's gaze follows yours. "Evidently."
"They like the warmth, I think. But they've never caused this much damage." You back away from it, sighing. "I don't suppose you have a long-range commlink you've been keeping secret?"
He shakes his head. "I'm afraid not."
A particularly loud gust of wind wails through the small crack between the open doors of the shed, widening the opening with drifting snow.
A full rotation. Sixty-six hours.
"We'd better get back inside," you tell him, turning off your flashlight. "We'll need to keep all the warmth we have left."
--
First Hour
"And how much is left, exactly?"
You swiftly close the small door of the wood burning stove, having tossed in another log. "Enough to get through about two standard days, comfortably. Or four... uncomfortably."
"I take it we're rationing, then."
You stand up, brushing the splintered wood from your leggings. "To be safe, yes. I can't heat the whole house, either. We'll have to close off the two other rooms."
He nods, firelight flickering across his face. He seems to hesitate, and you've turned back to the stew hanging in an old-fashioned durasteel kettle above the fire before he speaks again.
"I suppose it doesn't serve much purpose for me to mention it now, but, was it wise to keep such a small stock of emergency supplies?"
You stir the food, looking over at the paltry woodpile. "I don't, normally," you answer, mouth closing in an 'M' shape that nearly became the word 'Master'. Old habits die incredibly hard, it seems. Especially when he takes that tone with you, thinly veiling his judgment.
"There was a storm recently before this one, and an outpost on the southern quadrant needed urgent resupply. I split my stockpile in half, and I meant to replace it. A few days later, I was called away to an emergency mission," you look at him pointedly. "Never got around to it."
"Yes, well," he absently runs the back of his knuckles down the side of his beard. "Your ship is loaned to one friend, your supplies to another... it's a shame I made my visit after you've run out of favors to give."
You smirk a little, dishing some of the stew into a bowl and handing it to him. "I don't know about that. Here."
He takes it with a curious look and follows you when you close the lid on the kettle, leaving the main room and heading back to the seating area in the kitchen. Sitting down across from him again, you invite him to eat with a gesture, while pouring two drinks. He's taking his first bite when you open your cupboard and take out a couple of small cakes, placing one down next to him and taking a bite of the other.
He raises his brows in surprise. "Is that..." He bites into it, politely finishing his chewing before starting again. "Where in blazes did you find yalo cakes?"
You give a genuine smile. "Made them myself."
"Very impressive," he says, bringing warmth to your face with the compliment. "They're delicious. Where did you get the yalo root?"
"Picked it up on a supply run on-" You stop yourself, then look up at him. There's no point in not finishing the sentence. He knows where to get yalo root. It's his favorite. That's why, on some level, you'd wanted it on hand. It brought you back to those days in the temple, with him. "... on Coruscant."
There's a long silence and it's obvious he's deliberating on whether to say anything. But you both know what he would say, and you both know there's no point in posing any questions. Eventually, you say something anyway.
"I would have visited, it's just-"
"Of course," he interrupts. "There's no need to explain. I would have likely been away on duty anyway."
You drop your gaze down to the table. You wish you could just... tell him. Seeing him would have only made things worse for you, and you dealt with it the only way you knew how. You want so badly to just tell him, so that he can understand.
So you do.
"I wanted to see you more than anything," you say quietly, and his spoon clinks against the side of the bowl as he sets it down. You can't bear to raise your eyes yet. "But I thought if I did, it would make thinking about you... harder."
You drag your gaze up to him, forcing yourself to look. "You know what's funny, though? I don't think it made any difference."
His blue eyes are set, wide, unflinching. His mouth is tightly closed, and his expression is indiscernible.
You let the silence drag on, finally breaking it again when he doesn't say anything. "I'm... going to go shower. Before the water in the tank freezes."
He watches you go, not saying a word.

Third Hour
You've both spent some time in the refresher, your hair still a bit damp as you begin to light a few candles. You don't have many, so you've rationed them as well, placing them together in the middle of the room, on a table.
Obi Wan is sitting in a chair, holding a book, one leg crossed over the other. His hair is dark, the ends sparkling with water in the dim light when he shifts in his seat. You're both wrapped in tunics and full robes, thick socks bound high above your ankles, and yet, you can still feel the chill in the air.
He'd asked your permission to borrow the book - a high fantasy novel set on the seas of a fictitious planet - and to your amusement, he seems rather engrossed. You sit down in the makeshift sleep roll you'd created out of blankets on the floor, looking up at him. "I didn't expect you to enjoy that one so much."
"Hm?" He glances over the page. "Oh. No, I- it's quite, uh, interesting, but..."
You raise your brows, imagining he's feeling caught out for enjoying something so childish, but he surprises you.
"I'm having trouble seeing the pages, in this light."
"Oh," you say, understanding now why he'd been staring so intently. "Well, it's much better near the fire. Come sit down here."
He gives an uncertain look through the grated door on the wood stove, and then down to the floor, next to you. "It's alright. I can see well enough, thank you."
You bite your lip, then decide to let it be, picking up a book of your own.
Ninth Hour
"Before I had studied the ways of the Force, the mountains were mountains and the waters were waters. When my knowledge of the universe became more intimate, I saw that mountains were not mountains and waters not waters. But now I have come to know the truth and can be at peace. I see that mountains are mountains again and waters once again are waters."
You blink at the page of the copied Jedi text before you, eyes growing heavy. Obi Wan is lying above you, now, spread long and lean over one of your couches. Actually, it's more of a chaise lounge. He'd dragged it over, closer to the light of the fire, and you'd sat down in front of it.
You turn to look at him, finally looking a bit more relaxed, one arm behind his head as his eyes slide down the page. You're close enough to hold your book up for him to see.
"Have you read this one?" you ask, indicating the first paragraph of the longer text.
He turns his head a little, angling himself to see the page. "I think it's safe to say I've read all of them, young one. I was assigned to the archives more than most padawans." He finishes reading, then flicks his gaze to you. "And perhaps I should have assigned you there more often. That passage as well known as the 'empty cup'."
You're sorely tempted to roll your eyes. "I'm aware. Just trying to be polite. I just really like that one."
He's quiet for a beat. "It's a good passage."
"Yes, it is," you say absently, turning the page. "One of my favorites."
You go on reading for a while, then speak again without looking up from the page. "Perhaps you'd care to share one of your favorites?"
You turn back to look at him and he places the book he'd been reading down on his chest. "Alright," he says, reaching out as you hand him your book. "Which one is this?"
"Poetics IV, Farseeker," you tell him, handing it up. "...but I thought you might have known that, Master."
He lifts his brows just a bit at your smirk, then turns his attention back to to book, paging through it, skimming for a few minutes while you sink into the comfort of the blankets surrounding you.
"Ah, here. I've always thought this one interesting," he says, and you feel him shifting on the chaise behind you to get into a better position.
"A single bundle of thread is made up of innumerable strands..." he begins, voice a bit smoother and deeper than it had been before. "but, if they are joined in a rope and laid down on a plank, they can easily be cut with one stroke of a sharp blade..."
The rich lull of his voice pushes you deeper into the blankets, and soon your eyes fall shut. His softly spoken words interspersed with the crackling of the fire is almost melodic.
"...as many as the threads may be, they can not resist the singular blade. So we come to the truth: the threads of selfishness, of mistrust, of passion, are cut by the diamond of wisdom..."
Fourteenth Hour
You stir, pressing your nose into the warmth of his robes. He makes a humming sound deep in his chest, breathing softly into your hair. The warmth of it tickles your neck, and makes you open your eyes.
You flinch, breath stuck in your throat as you pull back.
You sit up, shivering in the darkness. The fire is almost out. You stand up to stoke the embers and feed a few logs back into the stove. The sound of the door closing makes Obi Wan roll over to his other side, his breathing soft and steady.
You look down at the floor, realizing you'd had to cross over several feet to get into his bedding.
You must have been very cold.
You drag your blankets a little further away, then crawl back into your makeshift bed.

Thirty-Second Hour
It's pitch black outside, now. The day cycle has turned fully to night, and after spending the morning eating, talking, and cleaning out your kitchen, and the evening mediating, there's nothing left to do but read until you're tired enough for bed. Obi Wan is lying down on his back, in front of the fire. You light another candle, then join him.
The smell of him mixed with the smoky scent of the fire is... making it difficult to concentrate on your book. You're starting the same paragraph for the fourth time when he clears his throat softly.
"Perhaps tonight, we should take shifts, to watch the fire. It nearly went out last night."
You freeze. "That's a good idea."
He says nothing more, and you lie still while your heart races. If he'd known the fire was low, he'd been awake. How much had he been awake for?
"You... noticed that."
"I did," he says slowly. "By the time I noticed it, though, you'd already gotten up to fix it."
You're certain he can hear the blood thrumming in your ears. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were awake. I didn't mean to... to..." You start over, totally unsure what to say, but knowing you have to say something. "I was asleep when I must have rolled over, and...gotten into your bed."
He'd been watching you struggle to speak with a curious look, but finally, understanding seems to dawn on him. "Oh. I... had thought it was intentional."
The thoughts in your head run over a cliff.
"It was cold," he offers.
You have no idea what to say, blinking in embarrassment. "It wasn't intentional."
You'd found it difficult to concentrate on your book before, but now it's nearly impossible. You turn the pages a little longer, finally giving up and deciding to meditate instead. You close your eyes.
When you open them, you feel warm, and you feel safe, and once again, you realize you've curled into his arms.
But you don't pull away this time. This time, you just... stay. You rest your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat, shifting your fingers in his robes. Feeling the heat between your bodies.
It doesn't matter, you tell yourself. None of this matters, because in two days he'll be gone from your life.
What's the difference whether you dream of holding him like this, or if you simply let it happen? He'll plague your thoughts either way.
You feel the rise and fall of his chest change its rhythm. He swallows, and you realize he's waking up. You lie still, then tilt your head up to look at him.
"Cold again?" he asks, and it hangs between you. An open invitation for you to move away and pretend it's all been a misunderstanding. But you don't.
"No."
The howling wind outside is the only sound, distant and ominous, as you stay motionless against his chest. Then he softly brings a hand to your face, gliding the back of his thumb down your jawline.
You could cry, the way his skin meets yours with such tenderness, without hesitation. You can feel the tension in his force signature, bleeding through although he's suppressing it.
"Go to sleep," he tells you. "We will get through this. It will be over soon."
"I know," you say immediately, his hand leaving your skin and making you give in to boldness. "And when it's over?"
"We've already discussed it," he says tightly, and you can feel the muscles of his arm behind you tense. He's not quite lying it down, not quite touching you. "We agreed, didn't we?"
"Yes, we did. After this, we won't see each other. So," you whisper into the thick fabric covering his undershirt. "I want to be honest. I don't want to lie to you anymore."
"Is this wise?" he asks, his words gentle but his gaze intense.
"There is always wisdom in truth," you answer, knowing he'll recognize the words he's told you many times.
"I want you. It's terrible how much I want you. But I think it could be easier if I didn't have to pretend that I don't."
He doesn't say anything for a long time, but the shifting emotions in his eyes speak for him. "Then you should not pretend. Not for me."
You desperately want him to reach down and kiss you, but he stays still, as you knew he would. You let out a silent sigh, resting your ear to his chest. His signature is mostly hidden from you, but he can't disguise the rapid beating of his heart. "I think it's been more for me."
"There is no need to hide your feelings," he murmurs. "But there is every need not to act on them."
You know he's right, but hearing him say it just makes it so much worse. And in some ways, it stokes the heat inside you even higher. Your leg is already nudging against him, and some depraved part of you is dying to lift your knee and hook it over him, to spread yourself open, to touch him in any way he'll allow it.
But the larger part of you, the part that knows right from wrong, tells your body to roll onto your back, and you do.
His arm lifts around you to let you separate, and you both stare upward, listening to the fire and the storm.
After so much time passes that you're not sure if he's asleep, you whisper one last thought that's been tormenting you for a very, very long time. "It's just a shame. For all we've been through, even the pleasure of breaking our vows... we didn't even get that."
He stirs beside you, head turning slightly, but he doesn't answer.
"If we had to break our vows, I'm just sorry we didn't even get to remember it."
Carefully, you turn to read his expression. His eyes are downcast. "I seem to remember much more than you do."
"I know," you whisper, a thrill that you know you shouldn't feel running through you. You're on edge, like you're trying not to frighten off a wild animal, with every word you shouldn't be saying.
"If you wish," he says, voice forcedly calm, "I could show you."
The words hang in the air; low, heavy, dangerous. You part your lips with some effort.
"Show me."
He rolls to his side, facing you, and wordlessly places a fingertip to your temple. It isn't necessary to form a bond through the force, but it helps.
Before he closes his eyes, and before you close yours, you feel it passing between you - an unspoken acknowledgement. What you're doing is precisely on the edge of sin and salvation, just teetering on the illicit line; a line which has been crossed and uncrossed so many times between you that you've lost count.
You close your eyes anyway.
The image is pristine. So real between sight and sound that you can hardly distinguish it from reality.
Your skin is on his skin. Sweaty, brazen, unashamed. You're lying naked on your back, and he's beneath you, pants unfastened, inside of you.
You squeeze your eyelids tight, overwhelmed and instantly aching between your legs.
He drags his cock slowly from you, one hand splayed across your stomach, holding you steady on top of him. Your body shudders involuntarily, imagining the pressure of his head moving from deep inside to pressing shallowly within you.
"Tempted me for too long," the Obi Wan in the vision growls, voice surrounding both your ears as if he's speaking from everywhere at once.
Then he pushes back in, hot and slick. "So tell me," he says, pulling out and sinking into you over and over, "Now. Tell me how you wanted this."
"I wanted this," your voice comes - bare, powerless. Like you're clinging to him, adrift and keeping yourself afloat by saying anything he asks.
He gives a long, tortured groan. "No, not just this." He drives into you, pulls out, coated and sliding so perfectly between your legs. "Say it."
"Oh, fuck," you moan, trembling against him, sounding too distracted to answer.
"Young one," he warns, quickening the pace just slightly as he wraps one hand around your neck, tilting your chin upward as he spreads his fingers out, feeling your pulse skyrocket as he tightens. "Do as you're told."
"I wanted this, Obi Wan. Wanted you inside me. Wanted you to fuck me," you answer him, words spilling out of you without pause. "Wanted this forever."
The hand on your stomach has moved to your hip, now, gripping you to stop you from moving. He's writhing beneath you, and even from this perspective, from the catch in his breath, from the wet sounds in the room, you can tell he's gone from fucking you to pounding into you.
"You've done this to me," he rasps, the muscles of his arm flexing between your breasts as he squeezes your neck tighter. "Do you understand that? You will answer for it."
You nod against him and he sinks his teeth into your neck, burying his moan in your skin.
He's about to fucking cum, you realize.
Why had he started the vision here, of all places? Was he trying to make you lose your mind?
His thrusts are getting deeper, harder, staying buried longer, and, there- you hear it in the open-mouthed choke of his voice. You see it in the way he drives up into you and stays there. He's-
Obi Wan breaks the bond, bright and vivid imagery bursting into nothingness, fizzling right before you.
You blink, eyes falling open to meet his own. His lips are parted, his face as flushed as yours must be. You take in a breath, and it occurs to you how empty your lungs had been.
He straightens his shoulders, but he doesn't move away. His eyes dip down to your lips, then swiftly back up to your eyes. "I must tell you that what I said..." he pauses for far too long. "It wasn't true, of course."
"I know," your response is automatic. You're unsure precisely to what he's referring, but you want to reassure him.
"Shall I stop?" he asks the question softly, but his voice is too rough for him to feign innocence, now. "Or would you like to keep going?"
There's some shame in your breathless answer, and no doubt he hears it. No doubt he feels it, too. But it's outweighed by scraping, seething, agonizing want that's been buried for so long.
"More," you tell him, never more certain of anything. "Don't stop."
There's conflict in his gaze, but the same animal you've been fighting wins out within him, too, and he closes his eyes once more.

Bedrock Headcannons: Obi-Wan Kenobi
Bedrock headcannons are headcannons that I regard as a fact in the personality of a character I write about. They range from small details to a huge part of a character's backstory. These headcannons are a constant underlayer in all of my fics that involve these characters.
﹄『❝ Obi-Wan ❞』﹃
He cut his hair shortly after the war begun because Anakin made a comment he looked like Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan couldn't handle it.
Obi-Wan is very quiet and not just in the sense of him not talking a whole lot. But his steps, the swoosh of his robe, the smile in his eyes. He moves with grace which results in many people being taken off guard when he's in the room, as if he just appears. But he's also quiet in the way that you'd never know he was crying if you couldn't see his face, quiet in the way of showing love through always having snacks on him for Anakin, Ahsoka or any of his men. Whoever asks him first. He's quiet in pain and agony, in love and passion.
Obi-Wan feels extremely bittersweet about Dooku. He remembered how highly Qui-Gon regarded him, how they'd go catch up at a diner and how Obi-Wan always begged to go. He never knew the Dooku that Qui-Gon did and Obi-Wan has a hard time understanding how his master was trained by someone so vile. Everytime he faces the Count, he remembers Qui-Gon, and he remembers how much his master cared for this man that is trying to kill him.
He loves Coruscant in the rain. When he was younger, Qui-Gon would take him up to the roof of the temple and they'd talk until they could see stars. But if it was raining, they'd be outside splashing each other until they were soaked.
He doesn't go up there as often anymore, but the first year after Qui-Gon's death, Obi-Wan was missing all day. It was Quinlan Vos who found him, he was the only person still alive that knew about his hiding place.
Obi-Wan's 18th birthday was spent out on the streets of Coruscant. He snuck out with Quinlan Vos and Kit Fisto. The three ran into trouble and at the stroke of midnight, Obi-Wan was in tears, desperately hoping his friends would find him.
He was sent to Mandalore with Qui-Gon soon after.
Obi-Wan will go get tea with Padme when Anakin is still out in space. He doesn't say he checks on Padme to Anakin, but he'll say he caught Padme and they chatted for a while and that she's doing well.
During down time, he wears heavy robes because Obi-Wan is cold all the time. Especially when on the Negotiatior. If he's able, he'll always go sit in the sun, feeling the warmth on his face.
As the war progresses, the toll of it starts to affect him more and more. He starts to feel things more deeply then he ever had and he finds himself drowning constantly. Fear he's never known paralyzes him and he can't talk to anyone because there's nothing anyone can do. He's going to drown and he can see all the people he loves playing in the water not noticing he's been swept up by the tide.
Dex's Diner has been Obi-Wan's place for years, he brings only the most important people in his life there. Dex basically watched Obi-Wan grow up, he knows his favorite book, his deepest pain and insecurities, and how many times he's fallen in love.
Obi-Wan takes Cody anytime they're on Coruscant for leave. One night, it was late and after close, but it was in that little worn down diner that Obi-Wan and Cody celebrated their marriage, slow dancing to whatever jukebox tune was playing and holding each other tight.
After Order 66 happens, Cody feels drawn to the diner, he sits there for hours. Dex knows better to assume the identity of this helmeted man, but he always sits in Obi-Wan's booth and watches the door, expecting the love of his life to walk right in and apologize for being late. But Obi-Wan never comes, and there is never an apology.

Ok, so I was supposed to draw one small fanart, but I got carried away and created an au ^^''
Tumblr media
Jedi cats Au
(Disaster lineage edition)
Yoda: Small green cat with tufts of white fur on his tail tip and across his spine. He loves being cuddled by the younglings as he tells them stories(basically their therapy, grandfather cat) and going on occasional trips to Dagobah for meditation (at least, that's his excuse). What he really does there is hunting frogs(he claims they're good for his bones) and camping out in the swamp(the whole trip traumatizing Dooku in the process).
Dooku: Huge white cat with brittle yellow eyes and spiked-up fur. He doesn't change much in his cat form, but when he does, he spends most of his time sunning himself on the council chairs(you can't blame him, cats can't resist such a good sunning spot), skulks around the temple corridors looking elegant and graceful, and steals sith holocrons out of nowhere so he could 'study' them(they were later confiscated and thrown out of the temple when Qui found out). He never lets anybody pet him except for Sifo, Jocasta, Qui, and sometimes Yoda(his adoptive father figure), or Obi-wan(his grandson whom he's secretly proud of)
Qui-Gon: Greyish brown cat with long silky fur and leaf-green eyes. He mostly hangs out on the temple's huge tree or goes on trips to Lothal to have tea with Loth-cats and wolves. (The Loth-cats kind of worship him as their 'god', and the wolves invite him and his apprentice for night strolls and 'singing to the moon' meetings)
He also randomly adopts kittens(padawans; in this case, Obi-wan, Anakin, and recently Ahsoka)
Obi-wan: Small auburn cat with darker splotches and grey-blue eyes. He's smaller than his apprentice but twice the sassiness. Cody loves to cuddle him and stroke his soft fur for hours while talking about how his day went(Obi doesn't mind^^). As a kitten, he constantly kept Qui company while he studied at night(at least that's what he says when Qui complains about his student/son being annoyingly cute and knocking over his mug of tea on purpose every five minutes).
Anakin: Brown tabby emo with sky-blue eyes. He hates sand, is very chaotic in many ways, and has a talent for annoying Obi(he actually passes down his 'abilities' to Ahsoka, who becomes more like her master). He also holds a record of being the most troublesome padawan in existence.
Despite all this, Padme finds him adorable (he often sneaks out of the temple in his cat form to meet his gf), but Obi-wan and Ahsoka know better(sure, he's nice and charming, yet can also be pretty stupid and reckless).
Ahsoka: Sleek, lithe, orange cat with white tail and blue stripes. Her Lekku still exists in her cat form as well as her facial markings(the Lekku are used to communicate with other cats or Jedi, and also play an important part in balancing their bodies while they leap agily or pelt across obstacles at high speed).
Toruguti cats have very short, smooth fur on their bodies(the pelts are mostly an orangish hue, with blue stripes appearing on the back of their flanks as they get older), but their tails are often white, bushy and flecked with blue stripes.
She's one of the 501'th's favorites because she often hangs out with Rex and the clones(sharing stories, playing games... etc)(the clones especially love placing random things on her head until she moves). As her species are carnivores, she has an instinct for hunting small animals(sometimes leaving her half-dead prey on Anakin's desk like the cheeky adorable prankster she is).
I might upload some headcanons and designs btw
Have a nice day ^^
😭 NOT OBI CUB LOOKIN LIKE A LIL LIPN CUB PLZZZZZZ😭
Lil baby man who looks like an infant permanently no wonder he wants a beard so bad in human form.
Soka’s Lekku is so cute and I love how pissy Ani is. They’re all precious to me. Swamp kitty Yoda is so perfect.

Thoughts on the idea of if Dooku was the one to recruit Sergeant Slick as a spy and not Ventress? I was absolutely frothing at the mouth at the idea of those two fuckers arguing about the nebulous “right thing” that they’re both fighting for. The desire for “freedom” That neither of them truly get to see. I would have watched a whole series of Count Dooku getting stuck with his own clone and hating every second of it while trying (fruitlessly) to refine Slick into a real functional member of society while Slick is driven only by a single-minded selfishness now that he’s given the barest taste of freedom. They’re both hypocrites who betrayed everything they believed in and have to live with that knowledge. I feel like they would have been such a great pair to watch. A Folie a Deux. A direct narrative foil to the likes of Obi-Wan and Cody or Rex and Anakin. Two people that could have made one another better versions of themselves but instead made one another worse.
some days i open my inbox and anon chooses violence holy shit. i hope you know that your brain is massive. dooku getting stuck with a zealous clone like slick is SO GOOD conceptually, i really need to rewatch the episode he was in. slick turning into some sort of token anti-republic deserter talking head by dooku's side has amazing potential but at the same time i feel like palpatine wouldn't let that slide lmao.
now that you say it they are very good mirrors for each other. they're both puppets they're both misled and they both have a point SOMEWHERE underneath all the bullshit. fascinating. someone should write this

Lured to the Light on Accident
Ok, all you Jedi, Sith, and Force Nulls (and anyone who is none of the above), here we go again. Just a warning, Palpatine gets off far more lightly than he probably should. Also I keep having deja vu as I write this, but can’t find any indication I have posted it before. If someone knows different, please tell me.  It makes me wonder if I thought about this one so hard I thought I wrote it…
It starts at the end of the Naboo crisis.  Sheev Palpatine, Darth Sidious, is all too aware that a man of his power requesting the company of a young boy, without his guardian, from a group of people he has an unbelievable amount of control over is not a good look on anyone.  Even with that young boy being a hero on his planet, particularly since there were two living Jedi heroes of the Naboo Crisis.
So he invites both Obi Wan and Anakin to meet with him. Obi Wan, though he does have some suspicion around most politicians, is also grieving, hurting, too young, and trying to keep up with a nine year olds energy without letting on that he is struggling. He thinks, incorrectly, that even implying he might need help from anyone in the Jedi temple means that Anakin would be taken from him (this belief is preyed on by Palpatine, who is very good at making people doubt each other). And frankly Palpatine can get Anakin to sit quietly for an entire hour, even take a nap occasionally.
There are days that Obi Wan would have nominated Palpatine for sainthood on that alone.
Of course Palpatine sees a chance to corrupt another Jedi, plus corrupting this particular Jedi would pave the way for him to take control of Anakin, and he could just kill him later if need be.   So he starts these ‘devil's advocate’ debates with Obi Wan where he picks qualities of the Jedi and Sith (as he perceives them) and tries to make Obi Wan choose one or the other and defend it. As far as Palptine is concerned he can work with whichever choice Obi Wan chooses, can refer back to the debate if he wants to make Obi Wan seem hidebound or a hypocrite when the time comes to break the relationship between Obi Wan and Anakin.
Only…Obi Wan does not quite cooperate. No matter what the ‘qualities’ that Palpatine chooses (always geared to be backhanded insults to the Jedi Order), Obi Wan always, always, always argues that the key is to act with compassion.  And he’s good at it. Obi Wan thinks that Palpatine is helping him teach Anakin how to disagree with someone without getting nasty, how to debate for fun and games, so goes into each debate with all of his focus and energy and effort but no vitriol.  By the time Palptine even thinks to make an argument to make compassion seem like a weakness, he is intrigued by these debates. By this argument of acting with compassion first and foremost.
It should be noted that, for all that Palpatine was working toward the genocide of the Jedi and was creating all kinds of vaguely plausible propaganda, he had actually rarely interacted with the Jedi beyond the superficial, until Obi Wan and Anakin, (even with Yan Dooku, since the focus was on corrupting the Jedi, not understanding him) so does not actually know what what is and is not a Jedi trait outside of rumors.
These debates change Palpatine. Oh, not at once, not in weeks or months or even years. But with such a creeping slowness that it is unnoticeable, Palpatine changes. The compassion Obi Wan talks about so enthusiastically sinks into his bones. Of course, every time Palpatine finds himself acting with compassion, he has a ready excuse for himself (to gain an ally, hurting that person would be more effort than it was worth, etc.). He also finds that he genuinely begins to enjoy Obi Wan and Anakin’s company (and begins to feel somewhat paternal toward them), and can genuinely call both master and padawan his friends.
This does not stop Dooku’s corruption, though Palpatine is more careful not to let the Jedi know he is a Sith. It doesn't even stop the clone wars.  The first large effect that this infusion of compassion has is with the Coruscant Guard. These were the first beings that Palpatine interacted with that were, without a doubt, innocent. In Palpatine's mind he could make an argument that every other being or group has some responsibility, no matter how small for what is coming. But the Clones do not. What’s more, Palpatine perceives the Coruscant Guard as his. They were his personal clones. Palpatine is still undoubtedly a Sith, and though Compassion has infected him, he is obsessively protective of what he considered his.
Palpatine quickly manufactures reasons to do away with, by death or other means, many of his more odious allies. All of them for the crime of laying a hand on his Coruscant Guard. He treats the CG with all the compassion that he had, instead of just paying lip service when cameras are on.  And in return the CG are as loving and loyal to him as the rest of the GAR is to the Jedi generals.  In fact, for every act of compassion he performs, he finds that he is rewarded with admiration and later love (and not just from the clones). It becomes a cycle of reinforcement drawing him from the depths of the evil he has sunk to.
Do not get me wrong, Palpatine is not a good person. For the first two years of the war he is still actively working toward the death of the Jedi and the enslavement of the clones.  He is still leading both sides of the war, if a little more hands off from the Separatists. He may consider Obi Wan a friend, but that mainly means he intends to make sure his death is painless (as even now he could see how Operation Knightfall and Order 66 would hurt Obi Wan immensely and wanted to spare him that).
Then comes the day when Obi Wan brings his Commander to meet the Chancellor. They have come to, among other things, announce their engagement and their intention to marry after the war was over.  Obi Wan wants Palptine to officiate. In this world the Anidala elopement is well known, and accepted, and both Obi Wan and Palpatine have playfully bitched to each other (and to Anakin and Padme) about not getting to be there for the wedding.
Palpatine is beyond flattered, and ecstatic for his friend and the love that he had found. In his head he begins to plan the outfit he would wear as the officiant. It is two hours later, in his apartment, that it hits him. He had been thinking about how Fox, one of his commanders, had talked about his brother Cody. How much Cody loved Obi Wan and how happy Fox was that they were getting married. Palpatine realized that if things go as planned, there will be no wedding, as both the grooms would be dead, or as good as. That epiphany it trailed into the realization that his clones, even if they remain free, would have to face their enslaved brothers. The brothers he enslaved. Somehow that shakes him as nothing else, the thought that the Coruscant Guard might lose their regard for him for enslaving their brothers.
In that instant he decided that the love he could feel from the clones was more important than any Sith plan. (Frankly, I can think of few things more Sithlike than deciding their own wants mean more than the 1000 year plan that is almost complete) Which meant that he would need to dismantle the plan without giving away what he was.
Luckily he has always had a patsy around, just in case the great Sith plan was discovered too early.
His first step is to arrange the deaths of anyone who knows that Sheev Palpatine is Darth Sidious (frankly there aren’t many).  Then he pulls out the fake correspondence he has on hand for this kind of occasion (Not for nothing Palpatine is a planner, I have no doubt he has a plan to frame someone else as Sidious) that does a very good job of implying that Sidious had control of Palpatine, and would use him to enact Order 66 and a report about the chips by the Kamionoans to Dooku.  He uses the same techniques he had employed to hide his Dark presence, to create a facade in his mind.
Then he has Commander Fox, and a handful of other CG, to escort him to the Jedi temple.  He makes a show of acting strangely, closing in on frantic one moment, dazed the next, saying strange things about needing to tell the Jedi and ‘forgetting’ he said anything a moment later.  Generally do an excellent job of appearing as if he was breaking through some kind of control. They get him in front of the Jedi High Council, the members still on planet (Mace Windu, Obi Wan Kenobie, Yoda, Ki Adi Mundi) and he hands over the information. In between ‘fits’ (at one point letting his darkness out to change his eyes, then having it change back) he describes waking up in his office to see the documents on the Padd he handed over. Realizing first what it meant for the Guard, then what it meant for his friends in the Jedi.  Feeling like he is fighting against something to even bring the documents this far but knowing that it was critical, to protect the Coruscant Guard.
His act is bought. The trail he leaves (with just enough hints of evidence that doesn’t fit to keep it seem like it is frame-up) leads the Jedi exactly where he wanted them, to an aide in his office that has been with him since his earliest days.  This Aide (who is little more than a mindless puppet, with enough Force sensitivity to fool whatever tests the Jedi will do) claims to be Darth Sidious, does the villain’s monologue, shoots Sith lightning, and is killed by some very angry members of the Coruscant Guard.
With the ‘Sith Master’ dead, the war ends swiftly.  Dooku surrenders for the Separatists on the condition that he gets an invitation to Obi Wan’s wedding.  The Clones begin the process of dechipping, and are given citizenship (with all the rights and back pay and a planet of their own) spearheaded by Palpatine, which wins him major points with the delegation of 2000.
Palpatine is ‘cleared’ by the Jedi mindhealers (who contrary to their name do not actually look into anyone’s mind) and the small amount of darkness that lets show is listed as a side effect of being puppeted by a Sith for so long.  It is eventually decided, encouraged by Palpatine, that is was Palptine’s love for the clones that gave him a chance to fight back against Darth Sidious, but it was his friendship with Obi Wan and Anakin that gave him the strength to even break free enough to love the clones. Both Obi Wan and Anakin are required to go to mind healers as well, just in case Sidious did anything to them in the form of Palpatine. Because Palpatine chose, fairly early on, to not corrupt either of them but the natural damages of being at war were also discovered and worked on (In this universe Anakin did not slaughter the Tuskans. Without Palpatine actively sabotaging his and Obi Wan’s relationship, they were able to discuss his vision a bit more openly and Obi Wan got Vos to go save Shmi. Ironically her time held by the Tuskans, who were deeply impressed by her kindness even in the face of torture, let her learn enough that she was able to a major part of a treaty between the Tuskans and the Moisture Farmers).
Palpatine gracefully retires, making sure to give back all the emergency powers (so that the next Chancellor cannot use them) and steps into an advisory role, discovering that he has almost all the influence he had as Chancellor and none of the responsibility or blame. The death of his patsy gave Palpatine a reputation for being nigh on incorruptible, because all of of the small, infrequent acts of compassion or kindness throughout his time a Chancellor were seen as his true self breaking through the control of the horrible Sith (who was considered to have taken control of him as a child). In addition the Jedi made it extremely clear how rare it was to have the mental fortitude to break through Sith control.
With all of the accolades, his all but legendary hero status through the Republic, the way his advice is accepted practically as law and good, Palpatine quickly realizes that he actually got everything most of his Sith Ancestors would have wanted.  Yes, the Jedi still live but he is welcomed among them (the perfect position to, should he decide to, corrupt the order from the inside out), and any darkness on his part will be ignored and remnants of ‘Darth Sidious’. He may not have an outright empire, but his advice continues to be sought out and implemented (99% he advocates for compassion, whatever is the most compassionate answer to the problem) and his influence is near universal. It did not matter how long a feud or argument had been going on, both sides would accept whatever compromise he suggested.
He does get to be the officiant at the CodyWan wedding, most of the beings there are using the ceremony as another reason to roast Anidala for their elopement.
Somehow everyone does get a happily ever after.

I think it honestly just depresses me that Qui-Gon has become this character that fandom either turns into a saint or a villain. He's either this perfect "Gray Jedi" who is more enlightened than anybody else ever who can do no wrong, or he's an abusive selfish monster too focused on being right all the time to care about anybody but himself.
And it's too bad, because Qui-Gon is honestly one of my favorite characters. TPM was the first Star Wars film I ever saw, and part of why I will defend that film with my life is because of how much I enjoy Qui-Gon as a character. Yes, he's unorthodox sometimes. Yes, he takes risks. Yes, he can be kind-of an arrogant bastard sometimes. But he's hardly a villain or a monster or some kind of incompetent buffoon. Qui-Gon trusts his instincts and the Force above nearly all else, which allows him to make split-second decisions that he doesn't even entirely understand himself. He doesn't know exactly how things will turn out, but he trusts that it'll eventually work out so long as he keeps following his own instincts and letting the Force guide him to what he should be doing.
And that's SUCH an interesting character with really unique motivations! THAT'S what he means when he says to live in the here and now, to just trust that things will eventually work out if you keep following your instincts and the Force's will if you can hear it. Don't overthink it too much to the point that you talk yourself out of doing the right thing, even if you don't know why it's the right thing yet.
For people who aren't Force sensitive and who don't have that kind of connection to the Force, I imagine working with Qui-Gon could be immensely frustrating because he's so often doing things that SHOULDN'T work out for him and seem completely contradictory to his goals sometimes and maybe even entirely crazy, but then they just KEEP working out. A few hours, days, maybe even years later, Qui-Gon gets the last laugh. Imagine how frustrating that is to someone who can't hear the Force! All logic says this dude should keep losing, and somehow he just keeps getting proved right!
The level of faith he has is incredible, the amount of trust he has to place in others because of this is also incredible. It's not just Anakin, either, he has to do this with Obi-Wan, with Padme and Sabe, with the Council, even Dooku when he's younger.
And I love his relationship with Obi-Wan, the faith he has in Obi-Wan's abilities and the level of comfort and familiarity with each other that they've clearly built up over time. He can say something to Obi-Wan that to the audience (or to an outside viewer) might seem like it's only a half-formed thought, and yet Obi-Wan is completely able to understand what Qui-Gon means by it. They work together really well, Obi-Wan knows when to step up and when to let Qui-Gon follow his instincts. Qui-Gon trusts Obi-Wan when Obi-Wan does choose to speak up and often treats Obi-Wan as more of an equal partner than a subordinate. I love the subtle line Qui-Gon walks between allowing Obi-Wan enough independence to learn and grow because Obi-Wan is an adult who is clearly nearly ready to head off on his own anyway, and continuing to guide Obi-Wan because Obi-Wan is still his student and that's his role. I love how quick Obi-Wan is to tease Qui-Gon and how easily Qui-Gon chooses to take it when it happens.
Qui-Gon is SUCH an interesting character and it's really sad that fandom just keeps choosing to mischaracterize him no matter which direction they go, removing any and all nuance from him and the part he plays in the narrative.

Codywan Week Day 5: Sith Au
Summary: Obi-wan mysteriously disappears halfway through the Clone War. Cody is left wondering what happened to him and one day gets his answer.
Note: Mando'a used: Hut'uun (coward, the worst insult) and Cyare (beloved/loved). More at the bottom for after the story. Enjoy!
When Count Dooku told Obi-wan everything the Jedi had done to Sifo Dyas he started to think harder about his life. Slowly Dooku clawed his way in Obi-wan's mind and prospective.
They talked around the beginning of the war and now a year and a half had gone by. A lot happens in eighteen months. Including Obi-wan falling in love with his commander. He told him how he felt around six months before the Jedi disappeared.
Cody had a difficult time adjusting to his new general and even longer to realize Obi-wan was gone. The 212th watched his closely. They hadn't known that the two were so close.
Now, a year and eight months into the Clone War a new sith emerged. The Jedi panicked internally as they could barely contain the ones they had.
The sith was around 5'10 with auburn hair that had a single braid in it. He wore long, black robes with red accents. His face was concealed by a black mask. Some said he had bright red eyes while most said they were brown or burnt orange.
One thing was for sure. He was dangerous. Even if he didn't seem to be fond of killing things; which was strange for a sith; he could and would if necessary.
Somewhere in Cody's mind be wondered if it was possible for the sith to be Obi-wan. Even if it didn't make sense and Obi-wan would rather be dead than a sith, in the back of him mind he hoped it was him.
It made the clone sick to think about. Why would he want Obi-wan to be behind that mask? He knew that it was cruel to hope, but he did.
Learning he wasn't the only one was strange. Anakin and Cody had gotten close, both sharing the unimaginable loss of a loved one. Cody even told him about their relationship.
The 212th marched to the battlefield. As the fight raged on, they found themselves facing the new sith.
Obi-wan wasn't ready. He saw Cody's armor through all the chaos and suddenly he regretted everything. Designing to ignore it was his best idea.
Cody took one look at the man and sent a message over the comms, "Sith." That was all he needed to say. He looked back to the field and dreaded the fatality number this battle would have.
As the two got closer, Cody noticed something. The hair, the style, the almost knee high boots; they all looked familiar. His eyes had a look in them the man had long seen a few times. "Obi-wan?" He whispered. No that couldn't make sense. Obi-wan would never turn.
The sith turned to face Cody. The air was gone from the field as they realized something. No longer were they on the same side.
"Obi-wan!" Cody's voice ran through the field. This couldn't be happening. Obi-wan wouldn't do this to him. He wouldn't hurt anyone he didn't have to.
Obi-wan looked away. He never wanted to hurt Cody. He never truly wanted to hurt anyone. Dooku wanted control. He had wormed his way into the Jedi's mind and manipulated him into helping him.
Obi-wan Turned to face Cody again. They approached each other. "You fucking traitor!" The clone yelled, his voice cracking.
"I know." Obi-wan spoke softly.
As Cody approached the man he called off his droids. He allowed the clones to shoot them down, all he wanted to do was talk to his commander.
"Hut'uun! Take off that mask!" He swung to take it off but Obi-wan beat him to it.
"Of course, cyare" He let it rest in his hand.
"Don't you dare call me that!" Cody met Obi-wan's eyes. They weren't cold or hateful. They were just... sad.
Cody's hatred faded. Obi-wan was lost. The darkness had scuffed out the little flicker he had left. He wasn't sure what to do.
The clone couldn't just let Obi-wan drown. He loved him dearly but he couldn't let him leave. Resting a hand on the sith's shoulder, he sighed. "I'm not going to hurt you."
"What?"
"Why are you doing this?"
Obi-wan was silent for a moment. Cody knew what to do. Carefully he switched his gun from kill to stun. Kenobi knew but didn't stop him.
Quickly Cody pulled his gun and shot Obi-wan. With tears in his eyes he turned back to his men. "Finish the droids off. Someone take Kenobi."
One of the men grabbed the man and took him into custody. Cody wasn't sure how he was going to explain any of this. He wasn't sure that he was right or that he should have given Obi-wan a chance. The truth would just have to come out when he was on trial.
@codywanweek
Another note: I wasn't sure how to write it but Obi-wan did fall because of manipulation from Dooku. I think that can be gotten from the story but I wasn't really sure and wanted to explain it lol.

House Of Memories (9/?)
Obi-Wan Kenobi x Padawan!reader
Warnings: oh boy this one's rough... blood, mentions of torture and beating, broken bones, massive injuries, concussion, more blood, angst, oh and this is a spoiler but... one kiss ;)
Summary: You go through severe torture on the way to being killed for entertainment. Obi-Wan and Anakin struggle to find your location, fearing for your life.
A/n: just waiting for episode 4 guys... i am literally addicted to the show, and have watched all the episodes 3-4+ times... someone on here said it's not for the star wars dude-bros it's for the obi-ani girlies and i 100 percent stand with that
Words: 2.7k
Tumblr media
Beaten, blood sweat and tears clung to you. You were sure you had a broken rib, and perhaps your shoulder was out of place. You couldn't see it enough to be sure, the lights were too dim, and you had taken several hits to the face, breaking the skin and blurring your vision.
You tried not to make any sounds of weakness, any cries that told them they had broken you. You weren't going to give in that easy.
It had been hours since your confession with Count Dooku. You didn't know how many, but it was long enough for the blood seeping out of you to become crusted on your skin like dirt and mud. Dirt caking your hands had to be your least favorite feeling in the world. Obi-Wan told you it probably stemmed from your youth, the days of slavery.
You shook off the chilly feeling that surrounded you. It was immensely cold here, and you wondered if there was snow on the ground outside of this base you were being held in. You thought that maybe if they left you alive long enough in these conditions that you very well might succumb to the dark side, to become a slave under their terroristic rule. You couldn't accept that there might be darkness in you, but you could feel even the slightest bit of it coursing through your veins right now, waiting to be let out in hatred and anger. You weren't sure why you never saw it before, the itch in your skin to let out all the destructive thoughts you ever had and put them to use.
It scared you, to think you could one day become weak enough to let it overpower you and take control of your signature in the force. If only Obi-Wan had been here, he would tell you that you are who you choose to be, and if that is a reflection of the light, then you will be so without struggle.
Count Dooku had figured you out so quickly, so easily, and it worried you to no end, that if you were ever rescued that maybe everyone else would begin to see it clearly. Were you so transparent that not even a blockade in the force could hide it? You didn't remember letting your guard down as the Sith Lord interrogated you, but nonetheless he knew, and he tried to use it against you. He tried to use your own anger against you, really. The darkness, and your feelings for Obi-Wan, which were both only a numb sting in the back of your mind for right now.
You didn't want to fall asleep on these thoughts, because if there was one thing you learned about bad dreams, they were most always spurred on by bad thoughts.
You were just struggling so hard to keep your eyes open, one of them burned from blood and unshed tears. You wanted so badly to meditate, and perhaps keep yourself awake through use of the force, but with your head laid atop your arm, and the silent hum buzzing in your head, you felt you could not prolong sleep any longer. You hadn't slept since yesterday morning, anyway.
-
Obi-Wan couldn't sleep. He was so sick to his stomach over his worry that he could not eat. As much as he tried, as much as others tried to communicate with him, he could barely talk.
He was granted his request, to try and find you, but that was easier said than done. He hadn't come close to even narrowing down a specific planet, and time was running out with every hour that passed.
Anakin hadn't technically been allowed to help Obi-Wan in his search, but he did it anyway. He'd never really been one for the rules, even the ones of the Jedi code.
Obi-Wan was sat at his favorite desk in the archives, looking over a few star systems that were quite infamous for hiding separatist leaders in the past. He knew he should focus on trying to find you, but in his mind, the only thing that was sat in his thoughts were the times he had you by his side. He couldn't help but use them as motivation.
If he never got to see your smile again, never got to hear your melodious laugh, he would surely never smile again, himself. If he lost you from this he would never recover. He would never be able to look Anakin in the eye again without knowing he failed his other padawan. He didn't even know if he could continue to train Anakin if he lost you. He would never be able to think straight, or teach him without knowing that he may lose him, too. He may be the reason you both die. He knew he shouldn't think like that, but it weighed so heavy on his mind, and he couldn't push it off.
"I have a ship waiting as soon as we have a location," Anakin's voice brought Obi-Wan out of his thoughts, and he was grateful for once in his life over the interruption.
"You should be sleeping, Anakin."
"So should she. I won't stand by and wait for her not to come back," he said, sure of himself as he sat down by Obi-Wan.
It was hard not to think about you every time he sat here, because though you'd abandoned this habit when you were still young, you're favorite hiding place was right behind where Anakin sat. That little unused vent with the broken wall panel that slid in front of it.
"The council did not approve your aid in this endeavor," he reminded, but knew it meant little to nothing for Anakin.
"They didn't give me orders to stay out of it, either."
Obi-Wan huffed a sigh, getting back to looking through the systems, and something stuck out to him immediately. One planet, which does not run imports, nor exports, but had a carrier ship come through transit no more than eight hours ago. The records did not lie, and upon further inspection of the exact ship that landed, it seemed to be flown by a separatist pilot and crew. Though it seemed to be a stretch among anyone else's intuition, he felt a small riff in the force at discovering about it.
"I know where she is," he said with full confidence, standing and rushing out of the room, Anakin hot on his trail. Normally, running in the temple was out of the question, as it was a childlike and disrespectful thing to do in such a place as this, but the sprinting footsteps of Obi-Wan Kenobi could not be stopped if anyone tried.
The ship that Anakin had commandeered, though small, would be large enough to fit the two of them and you when they had retrieved you.
"Set coordinates for planet Hoth," Obi-Wan told his padawan, turning on the controls that he was responsible for.
-
The hallways of the base were lined with materials that made the interior warmer for those who occupied the living spaces. The prison cells were not given such luxury. They were cold, and though your body heat was likely higher than normal on account of the concussion you were sure you had sustained, laying on the floor, where the temperature dropped even further, your skin burned with the cold that was so harshly pressed against you. The only thing that the ice like surface provided in a positive way was that it brought down the swelling of your massive bruises. You were still knocked out, which could possibly have something more to do with your head injury than your drowsiness.
You were asleep, but not fully unconscious. You still had a sense of spacial awareness that pertained to the room you were in. Maybe it was just your signature reaching out to the areas around you, keeping you safe in any small way it could.
It sensed two familiar presences, far enough out that they weren't quite recognizable, but began to withdraw itself back into you at just the familiar feeling. Help was coming.
As Obi-Wan and Anakin made their way through the base, the concept of stealth became their best friend. They had been very good at going to places undetected, and had been working on it for years, but now, with no reinforcements, or back up to call, they really had to take those training exercises to work.
"Master, we passed the cell block," Anakin said quietly, though he kept walking alongside Obi-Wan anyway. His master was so focused, his head never even turning to look behind him if a noise sounded.
"She isn't in the cell block," He turned a corner upon instinct, perhaps even foolishly fast, for he hadn't checked to see if the path was clear. "I can feel her, Anakin."
After walking a bit further, there was another column of chambers, with doors too thick to carve through. These were not ordinary rooms, they were meant for torture, and inducing pain on a scale hitherto undreamt of. Both of their hearts dropped when they realized the heaviness of the area they had stepped into. You were being tortured.
"This one," Obi-Wan stood in front of a door, signaling Anakin to use his technical skills to open it with a sliding hiss. It was only a moment before the last blockage between you both was diminished, only for Obi-Wan's heart to sink deeper in his chest.
He ran over and dropped to his knees, the sight in front of him hurt his mind and body, and immediately he knew it was because your signature was crying out for him, trying to wrap itself in the embrace of his own, because it always associated him with comfort.
He looked over your sleeping form, feeling you slip away slowly, with every second that passed. He needed to get you out of here. He took a quick glance over all your injuries and had to hold back tears, imagining what you'd been through because of him.
"I'm so sorry, little one," he caressed your face once, trying to keep his emotional side under control as he scooped you up in his capable arms with ease, rushing out of the hallway back to Anakin, who closed the doors and followed him down the hallway.
Anakin led the way, very careful on the way out not to be seen, because with you unconscious in Obi-Wan's arms, there was little either of them could do if a fight broke out.
Obi-Wan felt upon holding you how cold you were, and tried his best to wrap part of his cloak around you to at the very least shield you from the oncoming ice and snow that was blowing around when the three of you exited the base.
It was amazing how smooth this mission went, and Anakin thought about how unlikely it was. He'd never been on a mission where everything went according to plan. He supposed the force willed this mission to be a success because it was a rescue of an innocent life, a Jedi whom had been the purest among them... or so he thought.
Firing up the ship as soon as he set foot on it, he closed the ramp after Obi-Wan's entry, sealing it shut and taking off.
Obi-Wan was left to tend to you, laying you down with his cloak beneath you. It was only then he spotted the blood stains on your robes, and the sticky, dark liquid dripping from the back of your head.
He tried to avoid panicking, reaching for the med kit and taking out the bacta pads. He had been loosely informed about the world of first aid, and from what he knew, that stuff worked miracles in times where all else failed.
"Stay with me," he whispered softy, and lifted your head, first, inspecting it with a close eye and swallowing down his fear of how bad it looked. From the looks of it, you'd been hit awfully hard, several times with a blunt surface.
"How is she?" Anakin was worried too, of course he was, but he kept his composure, because one of them had to.
"I don't know, but I feel her fading," his eyes filled with tears, and he didn't know what all he needed to do, but he tried his best, applying the bacta pads and holding them to the areas that kept bleeding.
He wasn't sure, because the blood on your robes looked dry, but he could sense another harsh wound on your side. He lifted the material from your body and located the infected abrasion over your ribcage. It was clear one of your ribs had been crushed, and if he wasn't careful, it might puncture your lung, and you would die within minutes, suffocating, and chocking on your own blood. You were barely breathing as it was, and it terrified him to touch you any further, in fears he could make it worse.
"I can't do this," and then the first tear fell. It wasn't one of panic, or sadness, but of disappointment in himself. If you died in his arms, he would count it as infinitely worse than if you'd died a quick and painless death. He wished more than anything that it had been him to be captured. More tears started falling, and with your signature ebbing away at a crawling pace, he knew he didn't have any time to waste.
He ripped open another bacta pad, tearing the packaging with his teeth to avoid his other hand leaving you. He pressed the second one to your ribs, being as gentle as he possibly could.
"Please," he whispered, feeling a small spurt of your presence return to you. He wasn't relieved yet but was coming to a place where he was no longer panicking.
It took a few minutes, and then the bleeding from your head stopped.
He released his held breath when he nearly saw your body stirring beneath his own. He still held your head in one hand, the other focusing on your perforated rib. Your face scrunched up in pain, but your eyes slowly fluttered open, staying squinted at the sudden brightness of all the new surroundings. You'd been in a dark room for maker knows how long.
Obi-Wan's tears didn't stop now, but at the sight of your eyes, barely open, he smiled wide. You were going to be okay, he knew it.
"Boy am I happy to see you," you uttered, your voice hoarse and soft, the air to support them in short supply.
He didn't know what came over him, if it was just the joy of knowing you were okay, or if it was something deeper within him that inspired his actions, but he leaned down, pressing a soft but haste kiss against your lips, smearing the blood from your burst lip. He was backed away from you the next moment, already afraid and scolding himself at what he had done, but you didn't seem to pick up on the action itself, only what caused him to make it.
"I guess you're happy to see me, too."
He was, so undoubtedly happy to see you. He caressed the side of your face after he let your head rest back against his cloak beneath you. You were back out of consciousness the very next moment, and he was unsure if you would even remember the kiss he'd given you in a time of relief.
He would remember it always, the first expression of feelings he'd shown to you unexpectedly, in a time he feared he might lose you. You were more to him than his padawan, always had been, but now? Now there was another factor that he still feared was unseen. What did he feel for you? The council was right to accuse him of attachment, but the kind of attachment he sought after, he wasn't sure.
He wasn't going to focus on it right now, he was just going to hold you close to him, and not let you go. He was going to take you home and make sure you were taken care of. He was going to continue your training when you were able to do so, and most of all, he was going to make sure nothing ever happened to you like this again.

So now that OBI-WAN KENOBI has premiered its first two episodes, a lot of us are right back in the screaming hell pit of feelings about Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker! And some of us never left. You know what might help with that? Some STAR WARS fic recs with a heavy focus on these two idiots that are dead set on breaking our hearts (along with all our other prequels-centric faves), because I’m not going to be crying in the club alone. If you want more recs, you can check out the fic recs tag where there’s a whole bunch more of them or you can check out some themed sets that are relevant, like Obi-Wan + Darth Vader or Obi-Wan Kenobi epic fics. Or if you want your heart to be healed, have some Force Ghosts recs. But if you want some recent recs, this fandom is really wonderful and I want to shove a bunch of them at you because they scratch the itch so well! STAR WARS FIC RECS: PREQUELS RECS: ✦ The Way Back by Goldmonger, obi-wan & anakin & mace & yoda & jedi, force ghosts, 10.3k    Anakin dies nobly, but one good deed does not erase half a lifetime of evil. Luke led him out of the dark; Obi-Wan fights to keep him in the light. ✦ Villains and Knaves by Be_Right_Back, obi-wan & katooni & hondo, 4.1k    Hondo has a run-in with Obi-Wan, which is always good for morale, and bad for profit. ✦ Then Put Your Little Hand in Mine by ambiguously, obi-wan/mace & leia, time travel/time loop, 6.4k    Mace, Obi-Wan, and Leia get stuck in a time loop together. This is not the strangest part of their very long day. ✦ Uncle Ben and Little Luke by phoenixyfriend, obi-wan & luke & qui-gon & hondo & cast, time travel, 24.1k    “Ben,” Luke says, grabbing at his face with… well, with one hand, but he moves like he expected both, and forgot the other wouldn’t land without a prosthesis. “Ben, I’m six again. Or seven or five or something. The point is, I’m small and I have one hand and you’re alive. I have no idea what planet we’re on, but the Force is being weird everywhere.” ✦ seekers not saints by wrennette, obi-wan & anakin & mace, 1.5k    Getting Obi-Wan and Anakin to not only talk to, but understand one another could be like pulling teeth. They cared about each other so deeply, and sometimes that was the entire problem. ✦ carried in your heart by grumpyhedgehogs, obi-wan & ahsoka (& anakin), 1.4k    “I am always with you.” Obi-Wan tells her. Her heart thumps painfully in her chest as her grandmaster rests his palm over it. ✦ infinite sadness by billowypants, obi-wan & anakin, force ghosts, ~1k    Anakin Skywalker joins the Force and Obi-Wan can’t breathe ✦ Opportunities by deviantaccumulation, obi-wan & dooku, 6.9k    The war is nearly over, and time is running out for the usefulness of Sidious’ apprentice. An almost successful assassination attempt on Master Kenobi leaves Darth Tyrannus with an interesting choice to make. ✦ Light Up the Dark by Be_Right_Back, obi-wan & ahsoka & dooku, ~1k    A Jedi must know when to extend compassion. Ahsoka and Obi-Wan disagree on this particular occasion. ✦ A Candle in the Night by phoenixyfriend, anakin/luminara & obi-wan, time travel, 12k    In which Luminara finds a heavily injured Jedi, nurses him back to health, and falls in love. Then they get back to the real world, and she just can’t figure him out… ✦ A Necessary Favor by stolen_pen_name23, obi-wan & anakin & bail/breha, 5.5k    When Anakin’s small cold turns into something much worse, a simple mission to Alderaan becomes anything but. Obi-Wan just hopes he can rely on the newly inaugurated Senator of Alderaan for help. ✦ working through by wrennette, obi-wan & ahsoka, 1.1k    Obi-Wan hid his smile behind his hand, smoothing over his beard. When the assignment had come through for Anakin to guard Senator Amidala at a summit on Chandrila, Obi-Wan had resisted the urge to roll his eyes at Anakin’s subsequent excitement and hasty departure. It was rather amusing, that those two thought they were being subtle. But now Ahsoka was in a bit of a sulk, annoyed that she’d been left with him and the 212th rather than taken with Anakin on his ‘special mission.’ ✦ a helping hand by CeruleanTactician, obi-wan & mace & anakin, 2.7k    Obi-Wan has trouble adjusting to Knighthood while also raising a padawan in the aftermath of Qui-Gon’s death. An unexpected Jedi Master reaches out to help him. ✦ a void in the deserted temple by coruscantguard (nadiavandyne), nadiavandyne, barriss & luminara & ahsoka, time travel, ~1k    When Barriss first sees Ahsoka again, she throws up. ✦ The Legend Of Liob by Killbothtwins, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & cody & rex & boil & waxer & cast, 19k    The Republic sends a combat photographer to be attached to the 212th until further notice, citing the need for a morale boost. The clones make up a fake clone, citing the absolute fact that it is very funny. Somehow, these two things save the galaxy. ✦ Grief Carried by kj_feybarn, obi-wan & anakin & luminara & quinlan & bant & siri, 3.5k    “This is going to pass,” Luminara said quietly, as though sensing his thoughts. Then, she probably didn’t need to, she’d always known him so well. “But until then, you don’t have to be alone.” ✦ the courage of stars by katierosefun, obi-wan & leia, 2.2k    In a different time, Obi-Wan looks after Leia on Tatooine. ✦ A Trip to the Zoo by AdaliaK, obi-wan & anakin, 6.9k    Obi-Wan takes Anakin to the zoo and, not surprisingly, chaos ensues. ✦ Five Times Mace was There for Obi-Wan, and One Time Obi-Wan Returned the Favour by wrennette, obi-wan & mace, 4k    five of the many times Mace Windu offered Obi-Wan comfort over the years, and one of the many times Obi-Wan returned the favour ✦ Living Memory, My Fate to Follow by elsa3beth, obi-wan & cody & clones & yoda & mace & anakin & ocs & clones & cast, time travel, 353.5k wip    Ben Kenobi expected his tutelage on Tatooine under the force spirit of Qui-Gon Jinn to yield a new perspective on the galaxy and his place within it. He just did not expect his last lesson to be so…literal. ✦ They Held The Highlands by ambiguously, obi-wan & rex, 2.1k    Rex runs into someone he thought he’d never see again. ✦ Special Collections by Papook, obi-wan & cody & jocasta & waxer & clones, 3.5k    The Negotiator gets an unexpected comm from an unusual place. Enter LIIL Squad, stage right. ✦ Moonglow (in mid-autumn) by Annessarose, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & palpatine & cast, 3.2k    The beginnings of Jedha, of the Temple of Kyber, and a story that lasts across dynasties. A retelling of a classical myth. ✦ Adventures in Padawan-Sitting by hellowkatey, obi-wan & ahsoka & cody & cast, 3.9k    Ahsoka has to spend a week with Obi-Wan and the 212th while Anakin is away. Obi-Wan is excited to have his grand-padawan visiting and tries to make it as fun and exciting for her as possible. ✦ a helping hand by CeruleanTactician, obi-wan & anakin & mace, 2.7k    Obi-Wan has trouble adjusting to Knighthood while raising a padawan in the aftermath of Qui-Gon’s death. An unexpected Jedi Master reaches out to help him. ✦ then leaf subsides to leaf by The_Last_Kenobi, jedi ocs, ~1k    You are a Jedi, and this is what that means. ✦ Reckoning in Coco Town by Peach_Bitters (peachybitters), obi-wan & anakin & dex, spanking, 3.8k    Obi-Wan returns to Coruscant from an off world assignment. His next order of business is to deal with a wayward apprentice. OBI-WAN/ANAKIN RECS: ✦ Good Form by ranianke, NSFW, some dom/sub, 15.1k    Obi-Wan needs help shooting a training video. The shock pulled a sob from Anakin’s lips, and hot tears sprang to the corners of his eyes. Every time he saw it, felt it, tasted Obi-Wan’s tender love it seemed too good to be true. ✦ Needing/Getting by chapstickaddict, obi-wan/anakin & ahsoka & luke & leia & cast, 198.4k    Anakin is a paranoid, over-protective hot mess doing his best to raise his weird pack the way Padmé would have wanted. How the hell is he supposed to do that when his kids and not-apprentice make him haul a half-dead Jedi Master home like a lost pet? ✦ Heat Haze by intermundia, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, omegaverse, 8.5k    Anakin Skywalker, an omega on the verge of his first heat, is on Tatooine during the events of Attack of the Clones, speeding out into the Dune Sea, on the hunt for his mother. Thirteen years later, Obi-Wan Kenobi, an old, solitary alpha, is watching the suns set over the sand from a lookout near his small home in the Jundland Wastes. Anakin is prepared to uncover ancient mysteries, countless treasures, and untold dangers. He finds a little more than he bargained for. ✦ Excessively Heated by secretsolarsystem, obi-wan/anakin, NSFW, 7.7k    Too Hot: A game where two players kiss without stopping and without touching each other. Fox is a baby okay
Sequel to this fic
----------------
Being on Coruscant was a dream posting for some clones, if you asked around. Being around so many different natborns was an exciting concept, as most hardly interacted with anyone that wasn't a fellow clone, so the city planet seemed like a dream.
The dream dies down awfully quickly when you're subjected to more paperwork than you've ever seen in your entire life daily. Those exotic bodies with their differing hair color, eyes, and body shapes, all lose their luster when clones are either ignored or treated like the lowest droid malfunctioning in an alleyway, or worse.
The Guard was one of the most restricted groups, Fox is coming to realize, making his way around The Negotiator. Everyone here seemed freer, helmets hanging from their belts unless needed for their task, joking and laughing as they work. Most of them don't register the commander, and those who do greet him warmly, albeit nervous to have someone of such high rank on the ship. On Coruscant, Fox and his men were only allowed to interact in their shared barracks, and they hardly did, knowing they were closely monitored by everyone and everything. It was so isolating, and a lot of the time they all wished they could be fighting with a Jedi, instead of drowning in paperwork and dealing with people who viewed them as objects or worse.
The man eventually wanders onto the bridge, and watches as Cody and Obi-Wan crowd around the large pedestal by the door, quietly talking about something.
He knows what they're talking about, and eventually, Cody feels his eyes on him.
"Sleep well?" Fox just joins the two, and the Jedi gives a soft smile.
"We've been speaking with some of your men, and we were going to fetch you actually." The commander shoots a confused look at Cody, but straightens with his arms going behind his back.
"What do you need sir?" Kenobi eyes the stance with a slight frown, but says nothing.
"Oh, I don't need much, just your help in doing something that is most likely treason."
Come again?
"Sir?" Fox blinked, wondering if he had misheard. "Treason?"
"Yes, you heard me." Kenobi gives him a warm smile, which is absurd from the news he just dropped on the Guard leader. "I've been going through some reports and, quite frankly, I apologize."
"To who?" Fox blinked and watched as the Jedi gestures vaguely around the ship.
"To all of you? To everyone? To be honest I'm not sure." Fox does not miss the hand Cody pus on the general's shoulder. "Now that I have the information in front of me, it's obvious who Chanc-Palpatine really is."
"A Sith."
Every clone was taught the basic differences between a Sith and a Jetti, and with Ventress and Dooku, it wasn't hard to get the knowledge as a cruel reminder. How many have fallen to their blades is unknown, but to realize the one Sith no one has seen is just...running the Senate? Pulling a friendly mask over the darkness he oozes? The darkness that has been used against Fox, scarring his mind in a way he was unaware?
"What do you need from me?" Fox straightened, clasping his arms behind his back to hide the fact he was slightly trembling.
"You are the only one who has the best access to Him. I cannot ask you to do anything you're not comfortable with, but we cannot allow him to remain in power." Kenobi frowned, weighing his options. "If you can get us the code to his private chambers, it might be the best way to get to him."
"I can do that." Fox should feel like he should protest, that he's going against the Republic...but he doesn't. Taking a long and slow breath, the trembling seems to stop as he looks out the main window at Courscant stationed to the right of the ship.
It seemed so small from up here.
"I need to go before he starts looking for me." Fox sighed after staring without a word for a few minutes, and the others nod. "I will contact you when I can."
"Any time, day or night, I will answer." Obi-Wan crossed around the table to stand beside the trooper. "I have also placed a small mental sort of shield so that if...there is an incident, he will not find what we have discussed today."
"...thank you, sir."
The shuttle that's offered to Fox gets him back to the planet quick enough, but he pauses after exiting onto the landing platform. He's not landed back near the Senate building, instead having gone down several levels into the planet, where he knows the Senator does not observe. It's weird temporarily shedding his armor, but the civilian clothes that each shuttle has in case clones need to hide in the populace make him feel a little bit more protected, and he's soon lost in the crowd. Fox knows exactly where to go, and knows exactly what to purchase before he returns to his shuttle, and back to the building he now felt nothing but dread at the sight of.
Kenobi isn't going to need his call.

Okay I would ask one for every prompt if it were up to me but instead I'll go with either of these two
"Why do you insist so much?" "Because I want to hear it from that pretty mouth of yours." or
"Admit it! You've liked me all along!" :)
TOMI!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much for sending this in and THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PATIENCE omg……..pls know your prompt had been on my mind every day until I could finally articulate it into this <3
it’s 1.5k words, padawan!Anakin and padawan!Obi-Wan, in my mind Anakin’s like 19ish here and Obi-Wan is like 23ish, Obi-Wan is a little stinker but Anakin’s into it, and there’s sparring with tension and with feelings. many feelings. lots of feelings.
please enjoy!!! <3
Anakin bounced on the balls of his feet, trying to give his full attention to what his master was saying but finding it impossible to do so. Master Dooku and his padawan were just over his master’s shoulder, and how was Anakin supposed to ignore a boy who made it his whole life’s purpose to ignore Anakin?
Perhaps naively, Anakin had thought him and Obi-Wan would’ve been closer – joined at the hip, actually. When Master Qui-Gon had taken Anakin on as his padawan, he had been so excited to get to spend more time with Obi-Wan. Dooku had been Qui-Gon’s master, which made them all, in Anakin’s mind, like a lineage, a little family.
But that isn’t what happened at all.
Anakin hardly ever saw Dooku or Obi-Wan, who were always off doing rigorous training or missions. Anakin had been so excited to get to hear all of Obi-Wan’s stories of other worlds and cultures and peoples, but it never happened. Anakin would welcome him back with a smile and a million questions, and Obi-Wan would huff and say something about needing to go and train with Dooku.
“Train?” Anakin would say through a disbelieving laugh. “But you just got back.”
“Yes, well,” Obi-Wan would sniff, turning to leave, “not all of us can use our free time to tinker with machines and talk to droids.”
Anakin didn’t know what he’d done to make Obi-Wan actively dislike him so much, but it almost didn’t even matter. Anakin was still hellbent on getting closer to him. He wanted Obi-Wan’s stories, his fighting tips, his help in meditation that Obi-Wan did so well and Anakin couldn’t grasp at all.
And if he maybe wanted to get closer to Obi-Wan so he could see his blue eyes up close or get the exact placement of his moles and dimples properly memorized, well. So what.
“Anakin,” Qui-Gon said, snapping Anakin’s eyes back to his face. Qui-Gon had an unimpressed eyebrow raised, but he was clearly fighting a smile. “Have you been listening at all?”
“Um,” Anakin muttered, “I remember something about you saying, ‘Anakin, I have something to tell you.’”
Qui-Gon laughed, soft yet deep. “That was the very first thing I said, Anakin.” Anakin returned his smile with a shrug, and Qui-Gon went on: “There is an off-world mission that requires both Master Dooku and myself, so I will be leaving you here at the Temple for a bit. I expect you to stay on top of your studies, and I have enlisted Obi-Wan to help you do so.”
Anakin looked over at Obi-Wan, who was glaring up at Dooku who was glaring at Anakin. “With my express permission, of course,” Dooku added. “I think Obi-Wan could benefit from having to teach another.”
The way he said it was endlessly condescending, like Obi-Wan would be training a youngling who had no clue what they were doing, but Anakin felt he could shake from anxiety and excitement. Obi-Wan was basically being mandated to spend time with Anakin. This was Anakin’s dream, but also his nightmare. What would they even talk about? Would Obi-Wan even talk to him?
“Yes, Masters,” Anakin nodded, watching as Obi-Wan blatantly rolled his eyes and looked at the wall to Anakin’s right. As always, he was looking anywhere Anakin wasn’t. It made Anakin’s heart race.
“We’ll be leaving tonight. Why don’t you and Obi-Wan talk or spar for a bit until you come to see us off?” Qui-Gon said this with a kind smile and a hand on Anakin’s shoulder, but all Anakin noticed was the way Obi-Wan pleadingly looked to his own master, who shrugged and turned to leave.
Turning back to Qui-Gon, Anakin gave a definitive nod and said, “That sounds like a great idea, Master. I’ll see you later.”
Once both their masters left, Anakin turned to Obi-Wan, ready to get their bonding on. “So-”
“Master Qui-Gon said we could talk or spar,” Obi-Wan cut him off, finally looking at him with a cold gaze. “So let’s spar.”
“Sure,” Anakin shrugged. “Whatever.” Sparring was still the closest they’d ever be. Plus, they’d have to put their hands on each other. Anakin could be a good sport.
They stood before one another and each did the small customary bow before getting into position and lunging at each other. They did this over and over again, several times, because Obi-Wan kept slamming Anakin to the floor. If they’d had ‘sabers in their hands it might be a different story, but Anakin just simply didn’t have the experience with hand-to-hand combat.
So Obi-Wan kept getting him down onto the mat, and every fucking time he’d command, “Yield,” all breathy and cocky. Each time he said it his smile was getting bigger and his eyes were getting darker, and Anakin was so confused at his own emotions. He was so pissed off at getting his ass beat, but when it meant that Obi-Wan was touching him and on top of him and smiling down at him with a predatory look, he was aroused as hell.
With a loud oof Anakin went down again, his back hitting the ground hard and Obi-Wan straddling his hips. “Yield,” Obi-Wan demanded, panting.
“Fuck off,” Anakin muttered, trying to push him off before Obi-Wan could feel the way his cock was hardening in his pants.
But Obi-Wan grabbed Anakin’s wrists and pinned them on the mat next to Anakin’s head, his smile mean and his gaze dark. “Say it,” he growled. “Yield.”
“Why do you insist so much?” Anakin groaned, pressing against Obi-Wan’s hold and doing everything in his power not to moan at the way they didn’t budge.
Obi-Wan leaned down, putting his face right into Anakin’s, their noses pressing together. “Because I want to hear it from that pretty mouth of yours,” he said.
It was so simultaneous, the way both of their eyes widened in shock and the way both of their bodies went rigid. “Pretty-” Anakin started to say, but was cut off by Obi-Wan pushing himself off of him almost violently and scrambling back by digging his heels into the mat.
“Shut up,” Obi-Wan groaned, face in his hands.
Anakin smiled. He’d never seen Obi-Wan flustered before. Especially not flustered over Anakin. “Pretty-” he said again.
“Shut. Up.” Obi-Wan still wouldn’t look at him.
“You want me to shut my pretty mouth up, Obi-Wan?” Anakin snickered, sitting up.
Now Obi-Wan looked at him, eyes full of both contempt and…something else. “Don’t be cruel,” he bit.
Anakin scoffed. “Why not? You’re mean to me all the time, Obi-Wan.”
Obi-Wan frowned. “No I’m not,” he argued. “I’m just…” He took a moment to think, and then, seemingly despite his best efforts, a small smile started to break out on his face. “I am, aren’t I?” Anakin nodded, and Obi-Wan looked down at the mat between his legs, his smile still there, but sad. “I’m sorry, Anakin.”
Anakin blinked, not expecting an apology of all things to come from Obi-Wan. “It’s okay,” he answered immediately. “I just- Why? I thought you and I would’ve been really close, seeing as our masters have history and all.”
Sighing deeply, Obi-Wan leaned back on his palms, looking at Anakin with a thoughtful expression. “Do you know what the first thing you said to me was when you became Master Qui-Gon’s padawan?” he asked. Genuinely Anakin didn’t, so he shook his head. “You said, ‘It’s like we’re brothers now.’”
After waiting a beat for Obi-Wan to elaborate and realizing he wouldn’t, Anakin responded, “And that made you hate me?”
Obi-Wan laughed mirthlessly. “I don’t hate you, Anakin. Quite the opposite, and that’s the problem.”
“Obi-Wan, I don’t-”
“Understand, yes, clearly you don’t,” Obi-Wan sighed again. “But it’s my fault, not yours. It was just… You were so excited for us to be brothers, but I’d always…” He groaned in frustration now, looking up at the ceiling. “I didn’t know what to do when the boy I think I’m probably definitely in love with calls me his brother. I still don’t know what to do with it, and I’ve been taking it out on you.” He now looked back to Anakin, who was gawking at him with wide eyes and his jaw dropped in utter surprise. “I’m sorry, Anakin. It wasn’t fair.”
Not knowing what to say, per usual, Anakin moved to action, scrambling over until he was in Obi-Wan’s lap, grabbing his face and pushing him off balance until he fell back onto the mat, unable to do much but let Anakin kiss him. He didn’t just let Anakin kiss him, though; once the initial shock wore off, he placed his hands on the small of Anakin’s back, meeting his movements and kissing him back.
After what could have been seconds or minutes or hours, Anakin pulled away, both of them smiling and panting and licking their wet lips. “Say it,” Anakin breathed.
Obi-Wan blushed. “I love you.”
Heart about to burst of out his chest, Anakin laughed and shook his head. “I love you too, you bully. But that’s not what I meant. Say it.”
Obi-Wan frowned, searching Anakin’s face and finding no answers. He then finally looked down and saw their position, with Anakin straddling him and pressing him down into the mat, and he rolled his eyes with a smile. “Fine. I yield.”

The Bond Between Us ~ 40
THE BOND BETWEEN US MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
< previous chapter
Word Count: 4,130ish
Summary: You keep getting called to join in on Council meetings. You are finally honest about the darkness you’ve been feeling surrounding the Chancellor.
Notes: more a filler, last bit of fluff chapter. The next one is definitely a different story.
Tumblr media
After climbing out of the ship, you, Obi-Wan, Anakin, and the Chancellor were immediately transported to the Senate office building. Various Senators and droids were awaiting the Chancellor’s safe return at one of the entrances. The Chancellor exited the transport first, then R2 and Anakin. You and Obi-Wan stayed in the doorway of the transport. Anakin turned back when he noticed you two were not following.
“Are you coming, Master? Y/N?” He asked.
“Oh, no,” Obi-Wan responded. “I’m not brave enough for politics. Y/N and I have to report to the Council. Besides, someone needs to be the poster boy.”
“Hold on. This whole operation was your idea.”
“Let us not forget, Anakin, that you and Y/N rescued me from the buzz droids. And you killed Count Dooku and you rescued the Chancellor carrying me unconscious on your back.”
“All because of your training.”
“Anakin, let’s be fair. Today you were the hero and you deserve your glorious day with the politicians.”
“Alright. But you owe me one, and not for saving your skin for the tenth time.”
“Ninth time. That business on Cato Neimoidia doesn’t—doesn’t count. We’ll see you at the briefing.”
“Have fun,” you told Anakin as you and Obi-Wan went back to sit down in the transport.
You sat down on the bench and leaned your head back. Closing your eyes, you tried to filter through everything that had happened on the mission. The darkness continually around the Chancellor. Anakin killing Count Dooku at the bidding of the Chancellor.
“What’s troubling you, little star?” Obi-Wan wondered. One of his hands slipped into yours, bringing it up to kiss the back of it.
You sighed, turning your head toward Obi-Wan and opening your eyes. “If I tell you, will you promise to listen?”
“Of course.” Obi-Wan’s eyebrows pinched together in concern as he moved closer to you, making sure you knew in his body language that he was there to listen. “What is it?”
“For a while now, I have felt a darkness around Chancellor Palpatine. With each interaction I have with him, I feel the darkness grow.”
“Why haven’t you said anything?”
“You know why… it’s treason, Obi-Wan. What I am the most concerned about is that the Council has yet to feel it.”
Obi-Wan sighed. “They have felt it, though only recently. I do wish you would have told me about this sooner, or at least told the whole Council.”
“Cause they would have believed me? I’m not exactly their favorite anymore.” Obi-Wan kept quiet, knowing that you were right. “That’s not all… when you were unconscious and a was pinned, I saw Anakin kill Dooku… he… The Chancellor told him to do it. Anakin clearly was conflicted but did it anyway. There was a guilt in him afterward. He tried to admit that to the Chancellor but the Chancellor tried to brush it off as revenge… like revenge was okay.”
“That is not what Anakin or the Chancellor said about what happened. Why didn’t you speak up when they were recounting what happened?”
“Because I was scared… the Chancellor has a hold of Anakin somehow and it is not good.”
Obi-Wan knew that you were serious. He could feel it in your bond and by the look in your eye. He squeezed your hand gently, rubbing the back of it with his thumb.
“I believe you and trust in your instincts, little star,” he said softly. “I will bring this up to the Council. You need to be prepared to be called in. They will want to talk with you.”
“I know,” you sighed. “Do you… do you think the war will be ending soon now that Count Dooku has been dealt with?”
“I believe that once General Grievous has been taken care of, the war will be over and we can decide how we wish to live our life’s from there.”
~~~
“Heard you have been sensing something, we have,” Yoda stated. You had been asked to join the Council meeting not long after returning to the Temple with Obi-Wan.
“About the Chancellor,” Windu clarified.
“Yes, I have,” you admitted.
“For how long?”
“I don’t exactly know… a while… maybe at the start of the war.”
“Can you explain what you have been sensing?”
“Darkness seems to be the most fighting word for it. It’s been a growing darkness with each interaction that I have had with the Chancellor.”
“Beginning to sense this as well, we have,” Yoda said. “Told us sooner, I wish you would have.”
“I’m sorry, Master. I did not know how the Council would react as what I have been sensing is treason.”
“Y/N is right,” Obi-Wan agreed. “The Council may have had a different reaction to her tell us this if we had not begun to feel the darkness ourselves.”
“I agree with Obi-Wan,” Windu said. “If not for feeling this ourselves, we wouldn’t have believed Y/N.”
“Time, we need, to meditate on this,” Yoda said. “Tomorrow’s meeting, join us you shall, our former Padawan.”
You bowed. “Of course.”
~~~
Obi-Wan watched you from his bed, get ready for bed. He watched as your necklace hung out and swayed with your every movement. His necklace was still on his neck, the ring resting against his bare chest. With every reminder of it around his neck, Obi-Wan would wish that the two of you could wear the rings on your fingers; signaling to everyone that you belong to him and he belongs to you. When you were finished getting ready for the night, you slipped into bed beside him. Obi-Wan’s arms were quickly around you, pulling you into him as he laid down. He had begun to sense the darkness and uneasiness that you were, making him simply want to hold you close and do all that he could to protect you.
“You know that I love you, right, little star?” He questioned, so softly you almost missed it even with being right beside him.
“Of course,” you responded. “As I love you.”
“I need you to know that I would do anything to protect you. Including, giving my own life.”
You sat up enough to look at his face. “Don’t say things like that. I would die if you died, no matter what.”
He could tell you were panicking now, fear coursing through you about what might be to come. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” He pulled you back down so that your head was resting against his heart. He kissed your head. “I didn’t mean to frighten you… I just… I need you to know where my priorities lie. You are my greatest priority.”
~~~
The next day, you joined Obi-Wan and many other Jedi in the war room where the report was even on the Outer Rim sieges. As much as you tried to focus during the report, you couldn’t help but wonder where Anakin was. His usual seat beside you was empty and you had yet to see him since he went off with the politicians the day before. When the meeting was over, you walked over to the holo table that Obi-Wan was standing by. Obi-Wan was silent, thinking about the news the group had received in the report about the Senate voting to give more power to the Chancellor. Before you could say anything, you felt a familiar presence entering and you looked up to see Anakin.
“Anakin,” you said, notifying Obi-Wan of his former Padawan.
“You’ve missed the report on the Outer Rim sieges,” Obi-Wan stated, turning off the holo table.
“I’m sorry. I was held up,” Anakin responded, having come down the stairs to join you. “I have no excuse.”
“In short, they are going very well.” The holo table completely turned off and Obi-Wan moved to face Anakin. “Saleucami has fallen, and Mast Vis has moved his troops to Boz Pity.”
“What’s wrong, then?”
“The Senate is expected to vote more executive powers to the Chancellor today.”
“Well, that can only mean less deliberating and more action. Is that bad? It’ll make it easier for us to end this war.”
Obi-Wan and you glanced at each other before he focused back on Anakin. “Be careful of your friend Palpatine.” You and Obi-Wan started up the stairs.
“Be careful of what?”
“He has requested your presence.”
“What for?” Anakin took multiple steps at a time to catch up with you and Obi-Wan.
“He would not say.”
“He didn’t inform the Council. That’s unusual, isn’t it?”
“All of this is unusual, Ani,” you cut in. “And it’s making both Obi-Wan and I feel uneasy. Just… be careful when you meet with him, please.”
You wanted to tell Anakin what you had been feeling, but you knew that he wouldn’t hear what you had to say. He was too close to the Chancellor and needed to figure it out for himself.
~~~
Later that day, you and Obi-Wan were simply walking around the Temple together when a Council meeting was called and you both were summoned to it. You stood near the doors to the room as Anakin joined at the center. He told the Council that the Chancellor had appointed him to be the Chancellor’s personal representative on the Jedi Council. The Council has Anakin be dismissed as they made a decision, but you were allowed to stay.
“Disturbing, this is,” Yoda said.
“I agree,” Windu said. “But perhaps we can use this to our advantage.”
“You want Anakin to spy on the Chancellor,” you stated, already sensing where this is heading.
“It may be our only option.”
“Hmm,” Yoda hummed. “Dislike this, I do, but agree with it, I must.”
“Are you sure we should ask this of Anakin?” Obi-Wan questioned. “He is close to the Chancellor and the Chancellor trusts him, but Anakin trusts the Chancellor as well.”
“Do you not believe your apprentice can do it?” Windu asked.
“That’s not what I’m saying. It’s more of should he do it.”
“We need to know what he is up to.” Windu, surprisingly, turned to you. “What do you have to say about this, Y/N?”
“I believe that this will be a conflicting task for Anakin, but I do believe it might be the only way to see what he is really up to. Especially as I feel that he is using Anakin to spy on the Jedi.”
“That settles it then. Obi-Wan will ask Anakin to report on the Chancellor’s dealings.”
  “Kept off the record, this must be,” Yoda said. The other Masters agreed with nods, Obi-Wan being more hesitant. “Bring Skywalker back in.”
Anakin was brought back in and stood back in the center.
“Allow this appointment lightly the Council does not,” Yoda said, clearly troubled and disapproving of this. “Disturbing is this move by Chancellor Palpatine.”
“I understand,” Anakin responded.
“You are on this Council, but we do not grant you the rank of Master,” Windu told Anakin. You immediately knew that wouldn’t go over well.
“What?” Anakin looked around the Council for some sort of answer. The Council couldn’t look Anakin in the eyes. “How can you do this? This is outrageous. It’s unfair. How can you be on the Council and not be a Master?”
“Take a seat, young Skywalker.” Windu’s voice was firm and unmoving as he motioned to the empty seat.
Anakin bowed. “Forgive me, Master.”
You observed from your position as Obi-Wan watched Anakin go over to his new seat. Obi-Wan shook his head at Anakin, disappointed in his outburst. You had to agree with the Council on this one. Whatever the Chancellor was doing this for was disturbing.
“We have surveyed all systems in the Republic,” Ki-Adi-Mundi stated from his where his hologram sat, “but have found no sign of General Grievous.”
“Hiding in the Outer Rim, Grievous is,” Yoda said. “The outlying systems, you must sweep.”
“We do not have many ships to spare,” said Obi-Wan.
“What about the droid attack on the Wookiees?” Ki-Adi-Mundi asked.
“It is critical we send an attack group there immediately,” Windu expressed.
“He’s right,” Obi-Wan agreed. “It’s a system we cannot afford to lose.”
“Go I will,” Yoda said. “Good relations with the Wookiees I have.”
“It’s settled then. Yoda will take a battalion of clones to reinforce the Wookiees on Kashyyyk,” Windu said. “May the Force be with us all.”
~~~
You could feel Anakin’s anger as you walked beside him and Obi-Wan down the halls of the Jedi Temple.
“What kind of nonsense is this?” Anakin questioned. “Put me on the Council and not make me a Master?  It’s never been done in the history of the Jedi. It’s insulting.”
“Oh, calm down, Anakin,” Obi-Wan instructed. “You have been given a great honor. To be on the Council at your age, it’s never happened before.” Obi-Wan stopped and looked at Anakin, making sure that he had the younger one’s full attention. “The fact of the matter is, you are too close to the Chancellor. The Council doesn’t like it when he interferes in Jedi affairs.”
“I swear to you, I didn’t ask to be put on the Council.”
“But it’s what you wanted.” Obi-Wan began walking again. “Your friendship with Chancellor Palpatine seems to have paid off.”
“That has nothing to do with this.”
“That has everything to do with this, Ani,” you cut in.
“The only reason the Council has approved your appointment is because the Chancellor trusts you,” Obi-Wan added.
“And?”
“Anakin, I am on your side. I didn’t want to put you in this situation.”
Anakin stopped. “What situation?”
Obi-Wan sighed as he turned to look back at Anakin, you staying beside him. Obi-Wan sighed, looking down before speaking in a hushed tone. “The Council wants you to report on all the Chancellor’s dealings. They want to know what he’s up to.” Obi-Wan led the two of you into the window well, to gain more privacy.
“They want me to spy on the Chancellor? But that’s treason.”
“We are at war, Anakin.”
“Why didn’t the Council give me this assignment when we were in session?”
“This assignment is not to be on record.”
“The Chancellor is not a bad man, Obi-Wan.”
“Are you sure?” You questioned.
“Yes. He befriended me. He’s watched out for me ever since I arrived here.”
“That is why you must help us,” Obi-Wan said. “Anakin, our allegiance is to the Senate, not to its leader, who has managed to stay in office long after his term has expired.”
“The Senate demanded that he stay longer.”
“Yes, but can’t you sense it, Anakin?” You asked. “The darkness. Something is out of place.”
Anakin sighed, walking closer to the window. “What is being asked of me is against the Jedi Code. Against the Republic. Against a mentor and a friend. That’s what’s out of place here. Why are you asking this of me?”
“The Council is asking you,” Obi-Wan said.
~~~
Obi-Wan was asked to go with Master Windu and Master Yoda to drop Yoda off at his star cruiser. While he was away, you went back to his room. You could feel something was off. That, within the next few days, there would be a drastic change. You were meditating through your emotions when Obi-Wan returned. He noted how deep in thought you were, hovering over his bed, as he took off his cloak, hung it up, and then peeled off his shoes. Carefully, he sat in front of you. He closed his eyes and joined you in the Force.
“Hello there, little star,” he greeted.
“Hello, Obi,” you replied.
You took a deep breath and pulled yourself out of your meditative state, slowly sitting back down on the bed, as Obi-Wan opened his eyes. You met his gaze as you reached over and placed a hand on his cheek. He took your wrist, keeping your hand still as he turned and placed a kiss on your palm.
“My little star…” he whispered with such desire against your hand. “My love for you is beyond breaking the Jedi Code.”
You slowly began moving over to sit on his lap. “My Obi,” you breathed out. You leaned in and placed a teasing kiss on the edge of his mouth. “Show me.”
~~~
You and Obi-Wan spent the night showing each other how much you loved and respected one another. When the morning arrived, Obi-Wan was awake first. He woke you up with gentle caresses and kisses. You could immediately sense that something was troubling him.
“What is it?” You asked softly.
“I am worried about, Anakin,” Obi-Wan admitted. “He is becoming more moody and detached.”
“I agree.”
“Perhaps… perhaps we should go talk to Padme.”
“Why would we talk to Padme about Anakin?”
“Don’t try to play me as a fool, little star. I know that they love each other just as we do. And I know you know that too.”
You sighed. “Yes… talking to Padme might be helpful.”
~~~
Padme was surprised to see you both at your apartment, especially in the morning. She did not waste any time though in letting you in and offering you a seat on the couch. You noted how her outfit was carefully chosen to hide her growing belly.
“Has Anakin been to see you?” Obi-Wan asked.
“Several times,” Padme carefully answered. “I was so happy to hear he was accepted on the Jedi Council.”
“I know… he deserves it. He is impatient, strong-willed, very opinionated, but truly gifted.”
The three of you laughed. When the laughter died out, you were sure that Padme could sense something was up.
“You two aren’t just here to say hello,” Padme said. “Something is wrong, isn’t it?”
“You should be a Jedi, Padme,” Obi-Wan said with a soft smile.
“You’re not very good at hiding your feelings.”
Obi-Wan sighed, looking at you for reassurance before focusing back on Padme. “It’s Anakin… He’s becoming moody and detached. He’s been put in a difficult position as the Chancellor’s representative… but I think it’s more than that. I was hoping he may have talked to you.”
“Why would he talk to me about his work?”
“Neither of you is very good at hiding your feelings either.” He gave her a knowing look.
“Don’t give me that look.”
“I know how he feels about you.”
Padme grew nervous. “What did he say?”
“Nothing. He didn’t have to.”
Slightly flustered, Padme stood up. She headed to the balcony with you and Obi-Wan following.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Padme insisted.
“Padme…” you said. “It’s not worth it.”
“I know you both too well,” Obi-Wan said. “I can see you two are in love, just as I can see you know about Y/N and I… Padme, I’m worried about him.” Padme looked down, not answering. “I fear your relationship has confused him. He’s changed considerably…”
Padme looked up and off into the distance. You joined her, noting the beauty of the early morning city. Obi-Wan sighed and signaled with his head for you to follow him. You two began to leave, as Padme stayed put.
“Padme, I’m not telling the Council about any of this,” Obi-Wan promised. “I have my own secrets. I… I hope I didn’t upset you. We’re all friends, I care about both of you.”
“We both do,” you added.
Padme glanced back at you both. “Thank you,” she said kindly.
“Please do what you can to help him,” Obi-Wan requested before taking your hand and leading you into the elevator.
~~~
The two of you were summoned to a Jedi Council meeting almost as soon as you left Padme’s apartment building. As you headed over, you couldn’t help but express the question that was eating away at your mind.
“Why do I keep getting invited to Council meetings?” You asked. “I am not a member of the Council.”
Obi-Wan sighed. “You are not to tell anyone I told you this,” he began, “but the Council was going to appoint you a member before the Chancellor told Anakin that he was a member. Anakin’s seat is rightfully yours.”
“I I don’t know what to say.”
“I know that you’ve struggled with the Council over the war, but they really do trust and rely on you. I trust and rely on you. And you would be a wonderful addition to the Council.”
You nodded. “I do not believe I am Council material.”
“Maybe you are just what the Council needs.”
Obi-Wan smiled kindly at you as his hand brushed yours while he walked away from you and to his seat. You found your normal spot against the wall. You watched as Anakin and the other Masters entered before Masters Yoda, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Plo Koon joined via hologram.
“Palpatine thinks General Grivous is on Utapau?” Ki-Adi-Mundi questioned after Anakin had told the Council what the Chancellor had told him.
“A partial message was intercepted in a diplomatic packet from the chairman of Utapau,” Anakin explained.
“Hmm. Act on this we must,” Yoda said. “The capture of General Grievous will end this war. Quickly and decisively we should proceed.”
“The Chancellor has requested… that I lead the campaign.”
“The Council will make up its own mind who is to go,” Windu responded, “no the Chancellor.”
“A Master is needed,” Yoda agreed, “with more experience.”
“I concur,” Ki-Adi-Mundi said. “Master Kenobi should go.”
“I agree.”
Aye’s were heard around the room as the other Council members, besides Anakin, agreed that Obi-Wan should be the one to go after Grievous.
“An assignment, I have for our former Padawan,” Yoda stated, surprising everyone including yourself.
“Me?” You questioned.
“Mhmm. To your star cruiser, you must go. Many battles happening around the galaxy, back up will be needed.”
“Yes, Master. I will ready my battalion and we will wait above Coruscant until we hear word.”
“Very well. Council adjourned,” Windu said.
You could see that Anakin was upset, especially with your added assignment. Obi-Wan, Anakin, and yourself walked out of the Council room together as you headed to the port where your star cruisers were. The read there was silent. No one spoke up until Anakin did so when you had arrived at the port.
“You’re gonna need me on this one, Master,” Anakin believed.
“Oh, I agree,” Obi-Wan responded. “However, it may turn out just to be a wild bantha chase.”
“Master.” Anakin’s tone caused you and Obi-Wan to stop with him. “I’ve disappointed you. Uh, I haven’t been very appreciative of your training. I’ve been arrogant, and I apologize. I’ve just been so frustrated with the Council.”
Obi-Wan smiled kindly at Anakin. “You are strong and wise, Anakin, and I am very proud of you. I have trained you since you were a small boy. I have taught you everything I know. And you have become a far greater Jedi than I could ever hope to be. But be patient, Anakin. It will not be long before the Council makes you a Jedi Master.”
The two smiled at each other before Obi-Wan turned and started down toward the star cruisers. Feeling the need, you took the few steps needed to close the distance between you and Anakin and brought him in for a hug. He quickly hugged you back.
“Stay safe,” he whispered.
“Be careful with the Chancellor, Ani,” you replied. “I fear he is hiding more than we know.”
“I will.” He pulled away first. “May the Force be with you.”
You smiled at him before kissing his cheek. You turned back to join Obi-Wan on the stairs since he had decided to wait for you.
“Obi-Wan,” Anakin called. Obi-Wan gave his apprentice his attention. “May the Force be with you.”
“Goodbye, old friend,” Obi-Wan responded. “May the Force be with you.”
Obi-Wan and yourself started back down the stairs. He led you to your cruiser, grabbing your hands to stop you before you could get on.
“Be safe,” he told you.
“I am not the one hunting Grievous,” you responded.
“Yes, but you could end up in a far worse battle.”
“I will stay safe as long as you do. All I care about is you returning back to me.”
“I will always return back to you.” He leaned in and kissed you softly, although briefly. “I love you.”
“I love you.”
Jedi and Generational Trauma
Count Dooku was never happy as a Jedi because he never got over the fact that his mother decided she could live without him, so he was cool with his apprentice, Qui-gon, who arguably reacted to this emotional neglect by turning to the living force.
Qui-gon fully only stayed a a Jedi long enough to discover Anakin because the woman he loved died in his arms after spending days being tortured. He came within literal inches of murder and the dark side of the force after that one.
Obi-Wan only stayed a jedi long enough to graduate to knighthood because he WATCHED the aftermath of Qui-gon and Thal. And he STILL had to watch the woman he love get killed on a mission. (And depending on continuities and how you count this: IT HAPPENED TWICE. We don't hold with Siri Tachi erasure here.) And of course, who was watching the aftermath of that? Anakin.
And then we get Anakin, the literal triple threat for generational trauma. He somehow managed to get the "ripped away from my mother," "my mother died in my arms after being mercilessly tortured," and "my pregnant wife died after I murdered a bunch of younglings and it's very possible I was a major contributing factor to her death." And that's on top of the "being born into slavery" trauma. And who watched all of this go down? Well technically Ahsoka, but I'm not a big clone wars girl, so I missed that. The other person who watched Darth Anakin was Luke.
Luke, bless his heart, managed to actually build a family and save the galaxy like eight separate times before his nephew went full Sith and murdered his wife.
And let's talk about Jacen for a sec, because this is where the generational trauma gets absolutely ludicrous. The Solo kids had all the Jedi generational trauma, their mother's political career trauma, and the Dad's a badass smuggler trauma from literally before they were born. Then they got to watch their little brother commit a heroic sacrifice to save both all the jedi, their asses, and the galaxy. They also had to try to prop up his girlfriend (and I gotta say, Tahiri pulled HERSELF up eventually because Jacena and Jaina were literally useless immediately after the Myrkr mission), and at a certain point it's a miracle that it took Jacen as long as it did to snap and go Sith.
And I'm convinced that if Jaina hadn't had Jag when she killed Darth Caedus, she would have found a way not to survive that battle. Hell, Jag called her out on exactly that. Jaina deserves her own post though, so I won't go too deep into it here.
I know there are people who are not into the "mystic family has the galaxy circling around them" thing, but ngl, the intergenerational trauma line that stretches basically ubroken back to Yoda across at least two empires and sixish generations is FASCINATING to me.
The Republic, the Jedi Order and Slavery
So I have seen some discussions on the matter of the Jedi, Slavery and the Republic that I think would be interesting to explore from a legal point of view just to get a little bit outside the blame game going on in the fandom.
First off I think what we need to remember is that slavery, while being banned in the republic it is tolerated on worlds associated with it but that are too distant for the core to bother to enforce their own laws there, like Tatooine. The Republic tacitly recognizes the Hutt and others Empires who support slavery even if it isn´t official or legal. So right there we have a big plot hole into Repblican legislation and law enforcement.
This means that on Tatooine is completely legal to own, blown up, buy or sell people as property and it´s a practice so widespread there are actual space pirates who dedicate themselves to capture and sell people for this same end, this was the case of Shmi Skywalker who was born a free person but who was captured and sold to Gardulla´s the Hutt and her Son, Anakin, who was born a slave.
But this isn´t the case inside the Republic, much less on Coruscant, at least in the bare bones of their laws, so what happened to the Clone Army? Why no one, not even the principled Senators like Padme, Bail Organa or Mon Mothma were calling them a slave army? I believe the problem comes from the fact the clones, just like the droids, are not fully recognized as individuals with rights acording to Republican laws, when a member of a respected organization like the Jedi Order, Master sifo Dias, can use Republic credits to buy an army for a war that didn´t even exist until Dooku created the Separatist faction and no one raises an eyebrow, it means the Republic recognizes their purchase as legal within the law, which means they aren not recognized as sentient beings and the Clone Army are not citizens of the Republic but a property bought by Republican Credits with the Jedi Order acting as an intermediary.
This is my pet peeve when it comes to the Jedi Order in the Prequels, because they are not being actively evil, they didn´t order or buy the clone army, all of this was part of Palpatine´s and Dooku´s plans but by accepting the clone army they legally became the owners of the Clone Troopers.
In this instance it doesn´t matter much if they like them or treat them well, I love the fact Anakin, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan and Plo Kloon have an awesome relationship with their troopers in general but the deeper issues stays the same, they are not recognized citizens of the republic by law and they are owned by the Republic and the Jedi Order, to give an example of this problem: Watto also liked Shmi and Anakin and actually asisted Shmi´s marriage with Cliegg Lars after he freed her in legends canon, that didn´t mean he didn´t have the legal right to blown both of them up if he thought it was neccesary as their slave owner and that´s exactly the same problem the Jedi have, they are legally the owners of the clone army.
My other pet peeve was that instead of talking about this very serious issue or making a formal investigation because this was looking too suspicious, the Jedi Council, including Obi-Wan and Yoda, were more concerned about them losing their place as peace keepers by becoming members of the Republican army than by becoming owners of hundreds of people from one day to another and I could actually think this was just a plot hole in Lucas narrative but the problem is that this is actually talked as an issue by the Clones in the Clone War series, even more, Lucas originally thought to skip the use of the chip and have the Clone Army voluntarily attack the Jedi in Order 66 because their loyalty was to the Republic not to the Jedi Order, which says a lot about issues between them.
So the Jedi didn´t just renounce their right to have a political voice inside the Senate, they also skip over or just plain never talked about their responsibility as owners of sentient beings, yes, this was part of Palpatine´s trap for them, they were done for the moment they accepted the army because they were left vulnerable to an attack like Order 66 but they were still an semi independent institution within the Republic who certainly had the means to discover the truth, they just choose to let it lie until they could win the war and that moment never came.
Now another interesting discussion is that some fans make a relation between the Clone Army being a slave army and the Jedi being obliterated by the Republican army and I think this take is forgetting the canon reason why Palpatine could legally give the Order 66.
The Jedi Order being attacked with Order 66 didn´t have anything to do with them being owners of the clone army but Order 66 was legal within the Republican law post clone wars, why? because they became virtual members of the army when they became generals, this means they were subject to the Republic as members of their army and once they attacked the Chancellor of the Republic they officially became a Rogue army that needed to be put under control. The Jedi were no longer seen as civilians or diplomats or a religious order but a rogue military that was a menace for the Republic, this was the reason most of the corrupted Senate supported this action and not even Padme´s and Bail´s group could stop this because it was a "legal action" within the Republican laws as they stood post Clone Wars. Consider that even the founders of the rebel alliance were doubtful about the Jedi´s support to tackle Palpatine´s political power beyond those they knew personally, like Obi-Wan or Anakin and that Master Windu didn´t even consider to contact trusted members of the Senate because he considered them too corrupt to truly tackle Palpatine, that´s how distant the Jedi Order had become from non- force sensitive people, even members of the senate.
So I agree with the sector of the fans that are of the oppinion the Jedi´s problem was that they didn´t involve themselves enough in politics and that was the main reason why Palpatine could take over their entire organization so easily once he had enough support of the Senate because yes, he was attacked by the Council of Jedi Masters and Yes it was because he was a Sith but also yes, that´s a coup d'etat which was ilegal and punished within Republican law and Master Windu felt there was no other option because yes, the Jedi didn´t involve themselves in politics and that made sure the Senate had virtual control over all of them even in the case of naming them rogue.
Now a curious thing that happens with laws is that they just won´t go away when they became part of the legislation until there´s a change in legislation and in the comics Darth Vader as the last member of the Jedi, member of the Sith Order and part of the military of the Empire is also subjected to the previous Jedi Order´s check and balances, anytime the Emperor considers he´s become rogue, he has the right to pursue him with all the power of the Empire and the army can be used to stop him including the stromtroopers even those who are loyal to Vader.
I think this is interesting because Vader has both the power of the second in command of the Empire, he´s the "Emperor´s voice" but also one of the most precarious positions within it´s power structure and I don´t think Palpatine did this just to be a dick to his apprentice, which he can be for shit and giggles but because Vader´s position allows him to be a serious contender for the throne if an admiral or grand moff ever considered to make an alliance with him, this way he assures himself his position as Emperor, Vader is virtually isolated from the admirals and stromtroopers even if Vader truly is loyal to the Emperor and the admirals/grand moffs/etc get the message that if the Emperor is ready to do this to Vader who´s almost fanatically loyal to Palpatine, to his second in command, his literal voice, who has access to all high levels meetings, "his favorite" then what hope do they have to try something like that? It´s better to keep being close to the Emperor and follow his rules.
Palpatine as Emperor is still playing the same politics and the only way to change this was by making legislation changes, which could be done in the Republic by a Jedi Order associated with the Senate and with the imperial Senate before the Emperor disolved it.
If Star Wars was a political thriller like the Cassian Andor and to a less extend the clone wars series it would be interesting to explore the story from this pov but given the narrative is looked more like a mythical story, most of those issues are hinted but not developed much beyond what serves the narrative.
I think it´s worth discussing those issues and what they said about the society pictured in the prequels because Lucas definitely didn´t write them as a perfect society that existed protected by the Jedi Order before the evil Emperor took over, this version is mostly Obi-Wan being romantic with the past he misses, Lucas very much added a lot of issues to explain how a society like the Republic, Jedi Order included, became a dictatorship and it doesn´t need to begin with a big bad evil wizard but mostly that same society ethical issues, especially those it refuses to recognize.
Plotting out loud, because I can. Glimmerglanger/Star Wars edition.
I read a fun smut Padmé/Obi-Wan piece from @glimmerglanger (another author I will read basically anything they write) that had a an interesting author end note:
....and the galaxy is saved because when Anakin tries to flirt with Padmé she goes, "Sorry, kiddo, not interested," because she's busy trying to arrange a time and place when she, Obi-Wan, and anyone else who wants to get down can all meet up.
And being me, I decided to plot out how this AU changes the timeline/plot. Because I can. And maybe if I do, it’ll stop knocking around my head.
So, relevant ‘plot’ points to this exercise for those who don’t want to read smut:
In Attack of the Clones, Anakin took a minor injury chasing Zam Wesell and went back to the Temple for treatment.
Padmé and the handmaids had crushes on Obi-Wan in The Phantom Menace.
Most of Padmé’s sexual experience up to this point has been with her handmaids (and they with each other).
Padmé initiates; the sex is very good; Padmé’s reaction is “I should see if he’s up for an orgy with the handmaids, they deserve something this nice.”
So! How I would plot out what comes next:
1) Anakin still tries to flirt with Padmé. It’s just as embarrassing as in the movies. Padmé decides to bring one of her handmaids with her to Naboo, hoping she’ll act as a buffer with Anakin. Let’s pick Dormé.
Dormé tells R2 to hang around Padmé when Anakin is there & don’t be afraid to use his arc welder/taser if he gets too pushy
2) The sojourn on Naboo is going to include fewer picnics and more Anakin bugging Padmé while she’s working with Dormé on Senatorial work. I see this leading to at least one argument about political structures.
Dormé totally yells at Anakin that he’s proposing fascism
How can a former slave think the scaled up version of what he suffered is a good idea?!?
Well the Chancellor could get so much more done if—
Dormé slaps massive history tome down on table
3) Padmé has good memories of Shmi, so they still go to Tatooine once Anakin shares he’s having nightmares.
4) Anakin does a Mass Murder™️ out of Revenge™️
5) When Anakin has his little ranting confession to Padmé (because he’s thinks they’re closer than Padmé feels), R2 starts pretending to be shutdown in the corner and gets a recording of his confession. Because Padmé is not interested in Anakin romantically, her little “anger is human” part of the speech also includes a “and I’m going to be very careful not to trigger the anger of this person who can throw things with his mind and has a sword that can bisect people easily.” mental clause. It’s a textual medium instead of a visual one. I get to include internal thoughts.
6) MEANWHILE, Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan got a nice dose of happy brain chemicals before starting his hunt and has gotten a decent amount of sleep while bouncing around the galaxy chasing down this attempted assassin. Obi-Wan digs in a little further at Kamino compared to the movies canon. He gets a copy of the contract from the Kaminoans. He ducks meeting Jango until after talking to some of the Alpha class (who introduce him to a couple of their proteges). Jango cannot hurry luring Obi-Wan to Genosis because he cannot find Obi for a couple days.
When Obi-Wan does talk with Jango there’s a lot more “why are you building an army for the Republic” and more paying attention in the Force to his answers.
Obi-Wan has concerns™️
Obi-Wan sends his concerns to the Council and Anakin with instructions to boost his signal to the Council and make sure it gets there. Also DO NOT COME.
7) Genosis. Obi-Wan sneaks around Genosis for a little bit longer before getting caught. He gets a little more information back to the Council. When Dooku says “there’s a Sith in the Senate”, Obi-Wan says “evidence or I think you’re lying to sow discord and ignore you.”
8) Padmé and Anakin get caught on Genosis just as fast as in the movie. Dormé and R2 do not get caught. They feed technical info about the droids and on the ground tactical information to the arriving Jedi and clone rescue force. The rescue force tries a more diversionary attack expecting Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Padmé to get themselves out of the arena. Fewer clones and Jedi die. It’s still a shitshow with terrible numbers of casualties. Just fewer than in the movie.
9) Anakin still goes after Dooku. He still looses his arm. Dooku still gets away. Padmé and Anakin do not kiss, and do not sneak off to Naboo to get married.
10) Anakin is brought back to the Temple to start healing and doing PT for his new space-future prosthetic arm (see recent writing advice re:arm amputations and why they’re portrayed unrealistically). Obi-Wan is sent off on a mission with Alpha-17. Padmé, Dormé, and R2 speak with the council about Tatooine — the council diverts a Shadow to Tatooine for more evidence to back up the decision they know they’ll have to justify to the Senate.
11) Obi-Wan’s mission goes badly. He and Alpha-17 are captured and tortured by Ventress. Word of this reaches the Council and Anakin...
12) After his mother’s death, Anakin has slotted Obi-Wan into the ‘must not die, will burn down the Galaxy’ slot that Padmé occupied in movie canon. Padmé has made herself unavailable for the role since they’re not in a romantic relationship (although Anakin would like to and plans to continue pursuing her). So Anakin subconsciously choose the other parental figure in his life, instead of the female person he cares most about.
13) Anakin freaks the fuck out, runs off to Kamino, grabs the 212th being assembled for Obi-Wan’s return from this mission (which includes Rex and Cody), says he’s the General’s Padawan/Commander, and they’re going to go rescue Obi-Wan.
14) Anakin did not have an assignment to do this. Anakin is disobeying direct orders to come the fuck back to the Temple. Anakin takes the 212th and runs silently. No one in the 212th knows that they’re not in communication with the rest of the GAR and are in danger of being declared AWOL.
15) Obi-Wan or Alpha escape long enough to send a transmission to the GAR before getting recaptured. The 212th pick up the signal and rescue Obi-Wan and Alpha. Obi-Wan contacts his superiors (the Council and GAR military) and gets informed of the situation with Anakin. Obi-Wan orders them all back to Coruscant.
16) The dressing down of Anakin is a) in the medbay before Obi-Wan is dunked in a bacta tank and b) EPIC. Phrases used include “My life is not worth all of these men!” and “Do you have any idea what happens to AWOL clones?!” Obi-Wan has to arrest Anakin for fear the boy will accidentally start a mutiny by ordering the ship NOT to go to Coruscant.
17) The Jedi Council. Anakin and Obi-Wan think they’re there for Anakin’s punishment for absconding with the 212th and disobeying order. Nope. Surprise. You done did a mass murder. Into Jedi jail you got to go Anakin. “It’s not fair! You need me in this war!” excuse me? “They’re just animals” excuse me? “The chancellor didn’t think I did anything wrong?” ex-fucking-cuse me? say that one again.
18) So yeah, Anakin goes to Jedi jail, the Jedi Council decides to hide that fact to figure out the Chancellor’s involvement in that and prevent him from ordering the Jedi to release Anakin, Shadows start investigating the Chancellor (plus keep an eye on the Coruscant guard who have to interact with him), and sad Obi-Wan goes back to war while trying to investigate his concerns™️ about the Kaminoans and the clones (which is where I want the discovery of the chips to come in, but like, later. In a different story in the series. One where Ahsoka is Obi-Wan’s Padawan.
And yes, Padmé and crew do occasionally meet up with Obi-Wan during the war for some mutually fun sex.)
