Servamp chapter 137 spoilers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Continuing with the fight from the last chapter, Tsubaki uses another style of fighting 渡 (watashi) described as, well, as I understand it, a sure-hit preemptive attack. I mentioned in my notes in chapter 133 how his other skill 迎え (mukae, "welcome") was a counter-attack that apparently he uses when he makes the second move, while here he strikes first.
Also, not sure how the skill should be translated, because 渡 (watashi) comes from the verb 渡す meaning " to ferry across, carry across, traverse; (2) build across; (3) hand over, hand in, transfer.
Since it's the noun form, based on what I've seen in dictionaries, perhaps "delivery" might work, but I'm not sure...
Inner Kuro: "You can't avoid it."
"The flowers are the target. His sword will surely pierce the flowers."
The flowers are used as targets but I don't quite understand what's the point though ;; Like I don't think Tsubaki needs them. From what I see in the 4th image, Tsubaki used multiple katana to stab Kuro, like has he done that before?
Tsubaki stabs him through the back with one katana and then we see Kuro on the ground with two katana in his back and one in his leg. How did he do that?
What do you think of Tsubaki's ability?

I’m sorry, but I can’t forgive Anne Rice for not showing the fight between Marius and Arjun, and for not showing the reconciliation between Armand and Marius in Blood Communion. This is especially true for the latter, but I would’ve loved seeing (reading about) Marius dusting Arjun. You know, instead of hearing about how cool the fight was afterwards.

I will never understand the huntlow antis. There was almost no hate for Hunter and Edric even though they've said a grand total of 12 words to each other. There was almost no hate for Boscha and Willow (at least from what I've seen) even though they can't stand each other. But now that we have a healthy relationship for them (that's only rushed because of the cancelation) and there's so much hate for it.

When in one fandom, you read about a person who has prepared a lot, has gone through all the hardships, did proper practice and all that...
And in another fandom, you read about forgotten prince/princess whatever birthright, they came, they don't know shit but somehow because of one good quality now they're ready to become king/queen or any other authority figure...
Like fuck it's so confusing, like you need to, yk prepare for all the things, whatever it is, even swordfight Or anything else like that and then comes this little shit, who didn't know what a sword even was and now is somehow better than you, LIKE ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? WHAT ABOUT YEARS AND YEARS OF PRACTICE? like I get some people are gifted but yk there's s thing called practice.
Anyway, I was just ranting

I finished the Homestuck Epilogues.
What was supposed to be a five hour project I put down as a sort of joke has taken me all day and now I want to talk about it. A bunch of people, including many of my mutuals, have said they've read it and they'd like to see what I think. So let's give this thing the old college try.
I really don't have anything useful to say about it. It feels much more emotionally raw and evocative than anything I've read from Homestuck proper, like some kind of tragic breakup song by a poet that broke up with someone he was "in love" with, but it was a mistake, and they got hurt. But I can't help but be charmed by a thing that's so blatantly a response to Homestuck (it's the same structure as the Homestuck proper opening), except even better. That's all I can say. It's fun to read, and I'm glad I read it, even if I didn't like it very much.
What I especially liked was the way Hussie wrote some of his dialogue. The dialogue in these parts of the Epilogues is the most natural and realistic and slightly corny and sort of pretentious and obviously pretentious you'll ever see in the Homestuck world. It's exactly the sort of thing someone who was writing dialog for a comic would write. It's like someone was writing it off the top of his head on a Saturday, which is exactly how it feels reading it in real life, which is exactly how you would imagine it if this were a real comic.
All of these characters feel like people you know, and at the same time, not people you've ever met before but should have met before, people who should have been in your life the whole time. You get a feeling of "oh no, you were only in one scene, that's so unbelievably baffling! How could you do that to my life!" as you read each new page.
I could be wrong about this, but it definitely sounds like Hussie wrote these in a slightly different mental framework from Homestuck -- sort of how, after all, we have such different mental frameworks, as we're writing in different eras of comic books. He may have been writing in the "modern comic book" framework as much as he could, but it's just different, and he's doing this in-universe, like some kind of magic trick. It's not a frame we were meant to be viewing it in.

its so hilarious how specifically american conservatives make Taylor Swift into this evil left wing enemy when there is SO MUCH to criticize about her politics, her constant private jet use, her silence on Palestine, her general very white feminism but they're like "woman in her thirties WITH NO HUSBAND OR KIDS??? HOW DARE SHE??" and I don't understand At All...
like WHAT IS THIS
Tumblr media
the fact that I can't tell if this is satire or not is truly concerning...
there's so much valid criticism to be made about Taylor's politics but this isn't one of them 💀 As much as I love her and as much as I think she does make a positive impact in a lot of places she could do so much better... But no she's already The Villain™ when she tweets something vaguely political once a year I can't... 💀💀💀💀
