There's a reencounter between the two (I don't know if by chance or if LZ tracks WY) and at some point LZ gets worried that WY is sorrounded by ghosts/resentful energy, but he is aware of the situation. I think WY even has a pet crow/cat, but I'm not sure. And the plot may envolve him being isolated, running away or being expelled because of his methods of cultivation. Also, I'm pretty sure there's a fanart featured in the story that has Wangxian and the haunted place WY lives/takes care.

B) The second one is also a modern AU, LZ father is very sick, almost dying and stays in the hospital all the time, but LZ refuses to visit him because of the resentment caused by the situation with his parents. He meets WY in this same hospital, I don't remember if he works there, but I think it has something to do with Yanli. They connect through this situation, LZ eventually goes see his father and I think WY has some part in convincing him to do so.

C) Another modern AU, Lan Qiren is a priest/owns a church, the Lans are very religious and that includes LZ. WY is kind of a delinquent, he starts to go to the church and begins a friendship with LZ, who is very upright and frigid like in canon, plus the super religious part. I think LQ even says WY is a bad influence bacause of his behaviour and the things he did/does, but LZ realizes he is not that bad and there's probably some toutoring/disciplining envolved from his part. They are both teens or young adults and I specifically remember a scene when the two have sex inside the church with LZ being on the receiving end.

In the end the Lan win the war and lwj takes wwx under his protection as a sort of war prize. This fic is very heavy on the Jiang and Jin bashing and in the end I think the Jiangs and Jins have to stand trial for their crimes during the war. While wwx is under lwj’s protection and never committed any crimes thus is not punished. i really like reading your thoughts on "girl"! i was just wondering what you think might happen after paul passes? do you think people will start to examine the relationship between them as something more than just songwriting partners? i mean nothing really changed when yoko said john was bisexual (and some fans still don't believe it!). in my wildest dreams, paul's estate will drop a posthumous tell all book and we'll be left with so many questions lol.    

John himself said he was queer several times - I remember watching an interview with him when he was saying being an artist in a capitalist world requires money and that if he wasn't famous he'd need to have married "a rich old lady or man" to be a songwriter.

He also said he hooked up with Brian in Spain (Yoko confirmed he told the press they did "do it" and she was seemingly applauding his bravery in saying so).

Lennon remarked that he was "afraid of the fag in him" which made him act on his anger and set off his worst most fearsome temper explosions.

Also I think there was a few "tell alls" where past friends reported that he was open about his queerness & confirmed hooking up with Brian in frustration.

May Pang wrote that he told her he considered (lol) an affair with Paul. He spent two years in gay clubs in LA.

Yoko also confirmed he was bi (as far she she knew, maybe later on had he not been murdered he'd have identified as gay or pan).

Anyone who denies his queerness does a great disservice to his memory & the incredible poignancy of his songs in this context during his time period. Artists have been reworking the lyrics and wording of their queer songs to appeal to an unaccepting general audience for commerciality FOREVER and to assume this was not done by Lennon, who is "confirmed" queer (if you needed to hear it from Yoko for it to be true to you) is truly delusion.

I think after Paul has left us people will feel more comfortable analyzing their relationship in a queer sense and I do think at some point it has likely been engineered that something to that effect will be officially announced or endorsed in some regard by their Estates (to generate continued moneymaking lol and interest and enigma). I feel like that's something that could happen, reasonably, after Yoko is gone and her hold on the Lennon narrative is diluted into Sean's POV & the McCartney family has the freedom to speculate or give their personal feelings on the life of their beloved father in retrospect. There's also the chance Paul could say something or leave something to that effect before he leaves us.

I feel like Paul would never say anything otherwise because John never got to endorse any release of their personal history before his tragic and senseless murder in a time period where being gay was still treated with such bigotry and cruelty (the 80s). I feel like Paul's great respect for Jane Asher and their relationship is a testament to this because he has never spoken about their relationship out of respect for her - for the exact reason that she has never spoke publically about it herself.

Paul is a pragmatic and private person and I feel like he knows the majority of the ignorant world isn't ready to hear the biggest band in human history was founded on teenaged homoromantic affection/gay love. But maybe one day, it will be.

This is speculation on my part but Paul also probably doesn't want Yoko to know anything because either she is willfully ignorant or John truly wasn't honest with her and Paul feels it's something she doesn't deserve to know - especially if it's something John kept private & only between he and Paul. It's something he always has that's over and beyond what Yoko and John had & he seems to treasure those specific things no matter what they are. Obviously... Paul still doesn't care for Yoko and he is probably extremely fatigued of the fact that she has been the managing agent & author of John's estate for 40 years (when in the late 70s she and John seemed on unsteady terms as per other parties) and then treated Julian with such disregard. Sean on the other hand seems to have grown to love Paul, but we'll see lol.

I also feel like Paul probably has a few "surprises" for Beatles fans lined up for after he and Ringo are gone - he just seems like that kind of person and wants the Beatles to continue on in great esteem for many many years to come.

omar went to warner in germany this time last year iirc maybe things were supposed to happen sooner or something 🤔

We will never know the process. He worked with FDVM and he was signed with and released “All in my head” with Elektra France. That was probably part of Omar’s journey in signing with them. Omar said it was decided from the beginning that he wouldn’t be named as featured but then they even added him. Omar will not be be with the France branch though.

I know many are impatient with TEN but I think Håkan, the CEO, who Omar also calls his second family really has had his best interest in mind. He lived with them a lot during FO&O years when his own family lived in Åsa ( on the west coast). And Omar said in the “gay ass” Interview that he knows what he wants and what he doesn’t want now. He is not new in the business (10 years!) and I think they have taken their time to find a solution that fits him. Omar went to the US and South America with FO&O. They made an attempt. I know many YR fans are fans of YR and some don’t know his music, some don’t like his music or him. But a lot of people do care and do enjoy his vocals and his music. I really hope they found a solution that suits him. He is definitely ready this time and know the business. I am glad to see he will be out doing shows. He is explosive on stage and live and he needs more exposure and live experience and meeting the fans to also see their reactions to his music.

Here's... a thing...? that started out as a response to a prompt from a million years ago, it takes place in a Hollywood AU, but in order to write for that AU I obviously had to develop the entire elaborate backstory, after which... I did not finish writing for the prompt I am so sorry 😭 it's in the works I promise

But for now, here's the backstory:

In the glamorous world of Hollywood, money alone wasn't enough to open doors. You also needed status and fame, the ephemeral currencies of Hollywood.

And Tony Stark was nothing if not Hollywood royalty. He grew up in the limelight, the only child of celebrated actors Howard and Maria Stark. He had cameos in blockbusters before he could walk, became a leading man at the age of sixteen, and made a name for himself as not only a brilliant actor but also a notorious playboy following in his father's footsteps. Everywhere he went he had a different girl on his arm, he courted the affections of a handful of men, and when an interviewer asked him about settling down, he shrugged off the idea with his trademark devil-may-care smirk.

Natasha Romanoff found it all rather amusing. Because for a year now, Tony Stark hadn't been going home to his sprawling beachside mansion with a carousel of beautiful and interchangeable men and women. He had been going home to her cozy townhouse, cooking dinner in her kitchen, and spending his evenings curled up with her on her couch.

It had started as a chance encounter at the friend of a friend's, which led to an evening of lively, engaging conversation over drinks. He had seen her debut movie, which came out eight months ago, a small indie picture about two sisters that made barely a splash critically or in the box office. But he had seen it, and he had some surprisingly deep and pointed insights into it. It proved to her that there was a brain behind all his bravado, and broke through any reservations she might have had about his status as the A-lister of A-listers.

Then Tony expressed interest in her new project, and she cast him in a supporting role. They spent a lot of time together during that project – two months in the middle of nowhere. When Natasha was deep in the mires of rewrites, shooting schedules, and editing, it was Tony who brought her a sandwich, a cup of tea, or an aspirin. Sometimes, he acted as a sounding board, letting her bounce her ideas and frustrations off him. Other times, he cajoled her into taking a break – watching old spy movies, going for a walk, or drawing her out of her hyper-focus with a lively debate over something as pointless as almond milk or the Star Wars prequels.

It was on one of these breaks, in the last two weeks of shooting, that she kissed him. It might have been in the middle of From Russia With Love, in the middle of a field at dusk, or  in the middle of a discussion about aliens. The details didn't matter – what did matter was that despite his reputation, despite the energy that fizzled between them, Tony didn't make the first move. That had always been reserved for Natasha. When she pulled back and asked him, "was that okay?" he smiled so that the edges of his eyes crinkled, and he said in wonderment, "no one's ever asked me that before", before he leaned in for another kiss. When their lips met, it was with a sense of inevitability, like they had been, all this time, finding their way to each other.

After that, the world shifted imperceptibly. It was the subtlest of paradigm shifts. Even after the shoot wrapped up and they went back to LA, and Natasha dove into the post-production phase of her film and Tony started shooting a new movie in his superhero franchise, there was no picking up their normal lives again.

I Found A Small Archive of Super Old Interviews With Milo And Here's Another Incredible One

Milo Ventimiglia is burning in the minds of teen girls everywhere due to his role as Jess on the surprise hit series, "Gilmore Girls". What may be a surprise to his fans however, is that he has quite the knack for using the 'love them or hate them' four-letter words, something that I am personally a big fuckin' fan of. (Ok, so that's using six letters, but you get my point!)

Don't let my swearing take away from Milo the actor though, because he is the real deal. So much so that Warner Brothers paid him to NOT work for a whole year. Does that sound a little confusing? Well, it did to us as well, so we went ahead and had Milo give us the lowdown.

JB: How are you?

MV: Ugh. I'm fuckin' wrecked! We had a wrap party last night. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't do anything? But I bowled like a crazy muther.

JB: (Laughter) So it was a long night?

MV: Yeah it was a long night! (Laughter)

JB: And nothing hurts more than an early morning interview.

MV: Actually this isn't too early. I got back last night and saw that I had the interview in the morning. I woke up like half an hour ago and my publicist said the interview was pushed back by an hour. I was just like, "Great" and I really didn't have any idea what was going on. I got up and I checked the fax and saw the interview was bumped, so I went back to bed.

JB: I admire your perseverance.

MV: (Laughter) Thanks, man.

JB: So shooting is done for the year!

MV: Yeah. We wrapped up last Friday. I have a nice three and a half months off. I feel like I'm back in school. I felt like saying, "Have a bitching summer and see you next Fall!"

JB: "Please sign my yearbook." (Laughter)

MV: I swear to God that's what it feels like. It's crazy.

JB: Anything planned for the hiatus?

MV: So far I have no work lined up, but I'd really love to continue working. As of right now though, nothing.

JB: Enjoy the time off!

MV: Yeah! I'm sure I'll find something to do. Some kind of trouble to get into. I just bought a house, so I'm remodeling that. I'm doing a lot of handy work around that place.

JB: Some exciting summer Home Depot trips are in your future.

MV: Oh man! There is a 24-hour Home Depot right near my house.

JB: There are 24-hour Home Depots? That's crazy!

MV: Yeah! So at three in the morning I'll be banging away and turning on my circular saw? Just going for it.

JB: Tell me about your WB holding deal? What exactly did that consist of? Is it that you couldn't go and work for another network?

MV: Basically? yeah! They said, "Here's a lot of money and don't work for anybody else. We don't have anything for you, so you're going to be sitting for awhile." That was an interesting thing.

JB: Was it hard convincing family members that it actually happened? I'd imagine it was difficult to describe to people that you were getting paid to not work?

MV: Not with my family members because they run my books for me, so they saw the checks. Convincing my friends was another a thing. They'd be like, "What are you doing today?" "Well, I think I'm going to go to the beach." They'd be like, "Dude, you said that like two months ago?what are you really doing today?" "I think I'm going to go to the beach." (Laughter) And then the next day I'd be like, "I think I'm going to go to Europe." I was just out of my head bored. Warner Brothers didn't have anything for me to do, so I had to go to do something. The first month or two of being in the deal was fine?I was just hanging out around in LA, going to my parent's house in Orange County or catching up with old friends. Six months into things I was like, "Fuck this shit?I've got to go do something!"

JB: So it lasted for quite some time?

MV: Oh man, it was like a year. They wanted to hold me for almost like two years, but my management team said no.

JB: Could you at least do film?

MV: Yeah. I could do film. In the course of the contract, I did book a film and they did release me to do a guest spot on CSI. They also let me do a commercial or two. There were opportunities but they were getting ready to put me in a show. The holding deal kind of had nothing to do with "Gilmore Girls".

Pilot season came around and I was only reading for the studio's pilots because the contract was with the studio and not the network. I was reading for other pilots and nothing was clicking. I read for "Smallville" and all of these different pilots and for one reason or another I just wasn't getting them. The producers were like, "He's great, but we're not interested." I read for a pilot that was outside of my contract and the producers were really excited about me and Warner Brothers was going to let me out of the contract. At the last minute they said "no" and sent me in for this one pilot and then I tested for it. Next thing I know I was in a meeting with the casting directors for "Gilmore Girls" and the part was a guest spot with the possibility of returning. It wasn't as a series regular or anything. They brought me back to the producers the day of my studio test and that night they called and said, "Hey, we want you to be a series regular." That kind of threw an interesting twist on the contract because it was geared towards putting me in a new show, not an existing show.

JB: Prior to that or even now, do you get yourself worked up about pilot season?

MV: I think this is the first season that I really didn't think about it. I didn't have to audition because I was on a show and I knew we were coming back. I had a contract so now I could focus on my work. I've talked to some of my friends who are actors and they are going crazy and here I am at the craft service table. It was nice to not have to worry about that. Pilots are stressful as it is because you don't know if they'll get picked up. There are some like "Smallville" where they are filming the pilot, knowing that they were picked up for 22 episodes. I'm sure it makes you feel a little more comfortable.

JB: Have you found yourself getting noticed more?

MV: Occasionally. I'm still a nobody, which I enjoy because I can just go about my business. Time to time I'll get somebody who says, "Are you that guy on Gilmore Girls?" They freak out for a second. I was out to dinner with some friends the other night and some girl walked up to me. She was probably about 15 or something. We were finished eating and I was sitting back. The girl walks up and asks, "Excuse me?are you from Gilmore Girls?" I say yes and she asks if her sister can have my autograph. I say, "Yeah that's cool, but where is your sister?" "She's over there but she's a little embarrassed." I said, "Do you want me to go meet her?" I got up and went to meet her. You can tell the people that are genuinely excited about meeting someone who's on TV and I try to relate to them as, "I'm just a person and I'm not larger than life!" It's fun for them though and in a way it's kind of fun for me.

JB: Since jumping in "Gilmore Girls", you've appeared in your share of teen oriented magazines. Have you been the subject of jokes because of it?

MV: Oh my God! Yeah! Oh yeah! One of my oldest friends used to rip on me when we were in college. He's always known that I wanted to be an actor and when we got to the age where we understood the publicity end of it, he would give me crap about Tiger Beat and Teen Beat. I'd be like, "I just want to act and I'm not going to go that whole route." Now my mom was in a grocery store and pulled up a Tiger Beat and my picture was in it. I was like, "You've got to be fuckin' kidding me!" Then I popped up in Teen Beat and others. It's crazy. Hopefully other things will come up. I did a thing for Seventeen that comes out this month and just some other random stuff.

JB: They ask those weird, "What's your favorite color?" kind of questions.

MV: Oh my God. Nothing against the magazines because they definitely have their purposes, but I don't want to answer questions like "Do you have a girlfriend" and "What is your favorite color". Answering more adult questions is more intriguing and that's the vibe I'd like to give off.

Misc. Phalaris translation notes

Apparently Kyo almost wore a turkey on his head with glittering eyes for the Phalaris photoshoot?!

There were so many interviews at once, and props to anyone working on full-length translations, but I decided to take out the parts from the magazines and booklet that were the most interesting to me and mix them all in one post. 

- Kyo feels like if he does not work harder, he'd die. He can't settle for the little/standard that's expected of him. Also, he tried new styles of singing first and foremost for himself, because he would not have found it interesting otherwise.

-  Apparently Kyo almost wore a turkey on his head with glittering eyes for the Phalaris photoshoot?!

- For the Oboro photoshoot, at first he wanted to actually be the pregnant woman, or a very fat one, with a muddy face.

- Nobody said anything about how out-there he was in the photoshoots compared to the rest of the band, and he found that really kind.

- Shinya said that it’s a good thing the band is used to working remotely via their network, because it would be hell trying to get everyone in a room at the same hours. Kyo is an early riser (I think around 6AM?), while Shinya tends to go to sleep around that time, as a night owl. Shinya is able to fall asleep whenever he wants and he always feels rested. 

- Schadenfreude took a whole lot of time to complete. The band combined two separate songs. Die is really impressed by Kaoru's efforts to meld the two together.

- Same with Kamuy, which is a combination of one of Die's songs and one of Kaoru's that was created in 2019.

- 13 was produced around the same time as Oboro.

- 13 is technically about a death-row inmate.

- Mouai ni Shosu is a love song.

- Mouai ni Shosu was recorded last but might have been completed earlier.

-  Hibiki was also one of the last songs recorded, as it took a long time to settle. Apparently it sounded too much à-la-THE-FINAL at first.

- Eddie used to be a light song. But Kaoru, and I think Kyo, suggested that this and that part could be faster (”what if...?”), and in the end the whole song changed tempo. 

- Most of the tracks Dir en grey composes at first are mid-tempo, or at least this time around they were. 

- Kamuy was more difficult to compose than Schadenfreude.

- Kaoru was the one who came up with the general song order for Phalaris, but Kyo had almost the same idea.

- The title "Phalaris" was chosen shortly before the announcement for the new album, from a list of other potential names that were almost all Kyo’s suggestions, I think?

- Of course, of all members (beside Kyo), Shinya is the one who knew right away what Phalaris was hahah. He likes cruel things and he has read a lot of novels. Shinya likes that genre as long as it’s not movies?

- The reason for the late completion of the album this time and the number of mixing engineers credited is that, with COVID-19 being less of an impediment, it seems like all of the music industry began working on production, so some of the engineers that Kaoru contacted declined their request, and those who ended up accepting said that they could not work on all of the album's songs.

- When they compose, Kaoru intentionally sends the other members really vague propositions like: "There's also other ways to approach this" to encourage them to try other avenues without narrowing their scope too much. He purposely does not want to look at a song as close to being complete until time is out, to leave the realm of possibilities wide open and keep exploring.

- It seems like Dir en grey kind of had the idea to go for a "dark" album throughout production. Kyo commented that it’s something that Dir en grey is basically drawn to anyway, whether they want to or not. 

- Kaoru said that the Phalaris album was “catchy”, not in a pop sense but because once you start listening, you’re hooked and cannot stop listening. 

- Apparently a lot of Die's compositions tend to have a "singing melody", which Kyo may or may not get inspired by. If it's too close to the vocal melody in the end though, the band tries to make it different, because otherwise it sounds like a pop song in that regard.

Disclaimer that I am not fluent at all in Japanese, so there may be some mistakes, but I triple-checked that turkey thing and it’s accurate hah.

Her and the guy eventually called it off. They both thought it wasn't going anywhere and that they're better off as friends. Their dating life ended in 2 months.

Soonyoung didn't know this though. By the 6th or 7th month since he found out he still thought they were dating because they had a good break up and are still civil with each other.

Only found out when Chan asked Yeri and Yeri clarified it for him.

Her feelings for Soonyoung were still there but she didn't know what to do with them.

Her feelings for him just increased when Red Velvet started touring for Redmare and they began texting again more frequently

Until Heaven couldn't take it anymore and decided to confess first

Confessed right after their tour ended when she asked him if they could go eat together somewhere because "she missed eating at Korean restaurants" when in reality she just wanted to see him

Hoshi was speechless. Literally. Couldn't get a word out when she confessed that she likes him.

She thought that she ruined the friendship. Scared for a moment because she thought he doesn't know how to reject her.

Then he asked "Are you for real? You aren't lying are you? Because I really want to kiss you right now and I can't do that if you're joking."

Didn't make it official until after Hoshi's Ode to You tour and La Rouge tour because they said that they might miss each other more once they did.

They just didn't have a label but they've actually been acting like it ever since the 1st date.

During one of their ments Seungkwan mentioned that there were a lot of special guests that attended. (there really was, my multifandom heart was so happy when I saw the list of everyone who attended)

Then the camera panned to Heaven who was minding her own business while watching the concert.

Her eyes grew wide when she realized she was on screen and she started waving her caratbong and greeted everyone with a bow

DIDN'T MISS THE CHANCE TO HORANGHAE WHEN THE CAMERA WAS ON HER

Hoshi was caught giggle into the mic and called her cute (in his defense he didn't notice that he was holding it that close to his lips)

The other members went WILD

Carats had a field day of teasing Hoshi for being extra energetic during the whole concert

Had special backstage privileges (of course)

Haneul could not let go of Soonyoung after the whole concert because she was just so proud of him

Lots of kisses and hugs backstage

Lots of teasing from the boys too

But they love their pair nonetheless

Haneul posted concert pictures on instagram and IG story. Captioned it "Seventeen is the best 🫶"

Went on bubble to gush about her boyfriend after the show

"Hi (y/n) how is everyone? I went to a concert tonight"

Hey so I was having a conversation with someone today and we realized that neither of us really know what happened that caused Hamilton to stop being and aide, like if he quit or was fired. Do you know the answer to this?

He quit after a - rather childish - dispute between him and Washington. Hamilton's abilities and courage were very essential to Washington, as he saw the potential Hamilton could contribute to the cause. And so he was arguably the most valued among the aide de camps, and often practically became Washington's little secretary. This didn't work so well with Hamilton's desire for action in the battlefield, a method of earning glory and a name, giving him the essential fame to start his new life in the higher-up class. Despite what Washington thought of Hamilton, Hamilton saw the general to be of “average” ability, but most importantly found him to be snappish in anger and entirely difficult. Washington was known for having a explosive temper behind closed doors during the war, so not only would Hamilton have to experience this firsthand at it's near worse almost all the time, this obviously did not clash well with stubborn and prideful Hamilton. With itching suppression of anger, and fed up with being Washington's verbal and stress relieving “punching bag”; Hamilton and Washington got into a petty quarrel on the stairs - arguing over if Hamilton took ten or two minutes to get there - which lead to Hamilton quitting with a lot of pent up anger.

Beware, this letter is written not too soon after the dispute, and is basically petty Hamilton with a wounded ego, he's a bit dramatic on the matter;

Whumptober 2023 - Day 7 | Alleyway

A/N: Day seven for Whumptober, today’s prompt: Alleyway

Healy was by no means a coward or even scared. After all, observing people was almost a daily chore in his ‘new’ job. But he definitely preferred if they took place during daytime and not in what seemed to be the darkest alley in LA, was all. And especially not when he had been watching that damned street for hours already when nothing was happening. At the same time, his partner was out interviewing some people of interest. He stifled a yawn and stretched a little before reaching out to his drink he had placed beside him. As if on cue, he caught a movement in the corner of his eye and while his hand went for the gun at his hip his head shot around too. But he could see nothing in the darkness. Not taking his eyes away, he drank a few sips, putting the bottle away and wiping his face. If only he knew where March was again so he could take over like they had agreed. It would seem his partner had once again forgotten. Or simply didn’t want to and then claim he’d forgotten if Healy mentioned it. Again something caught his attention but this time it was a sound. A gunshot that came from the direction he thought to have seen the movement just before. Should he check it out? After all he didn’t know if it was what he was looking for. On the other hand, he was on the lookout for anything unusual and suspicious. So he took out his gun, opened the car door as quietly as he could and stepped out. Leaving the door open, he slowly moved towards the place the action he wanted to investigate took place, making sure to use his vehicle as cover.

“Someone’s here!” a deep voice shouted and he suppressed a curse. So much for using cover. Although only a moment later bullets were flying and he did crouch down, happy that the car saved his life but also annoyed that he would need to have it repaired yet again or get another one. He tried to find out how many people there were but all the knew was that there probably were more than two shooting and God knew how many more there were. Then, to his surprise and relief the shots stopped and he heard hushed voices. For good measure, he stayed down another couple of seconds before he dared a little glance over the back of the car and deciding he wanted to check it out further. He hadn’t even made it around the back of the vehicle when three men stood there, pointing guns at him.

“Drop it!” one said with a nod towards his own pistol and he complied. Almost in that moment, a fist collided with his jaw. But it took way more to take him down and so two of the men started beating in on him, while the third one still held him at gunpoint until Healy went to his knees “What are you doing here? And who are you?”

“Must have lost my way and then fell asleep in the car” the hit told him that they didn’t believe him.

“What are you doing here? You a cop?”

“A cop? Me? Never” one of the men seemed fed up and started rummaging his jacket until they found his wallet which also contained is ID and PI license. He showed it to his friends. Of course they did not like it and could literally feel their wrath.

“Who sent you?”

“My partner” he replied with a slight grin. This time, when the blow came, he grabbed the guy’s wrist and twisted it until it broke. He only let go when he heard another shot and pain spread through his arm. It would seem they still needed him (at least his answers) or else they might have just killed him.

“Who hired you?”

“Now that is confidential…” the gun was pressed against his temple. He better get an idea how to get away or this would be his end. Maybe if he played for time or made them think they needed him alive for longer he’d have a chance to flee. Or perhaps even March would come look for him or to finally show up and relieve him. “Alright so we didn’t ever get his name. Just called himself R. I never met him but my partner did. Came to him three days ago”

“Why?”

“Well to hire us”

“Why did he hire you?” he gave him a glance

“Does it matter? He pays, we deliver. At least that’s what my partner thinks”

“Your partner?”

“Yeah. He’s a couple of blocks away, observing there” when the one with the gun sent the others away Healy had to hide his smirk.

“That all you know?”

“At least concerning this case. Sorry, nothing more for you to beat out of me”

“That’s alright” before he had even finished speaking, Healy shot up, tackling the man to the ground and hitting him a few times for good measure. As if on cue, he heard police sirens and also March’s car was coming into view a short while later. He jumped out of the car almost before the police could even stop and hurried over

“Took you long enough” Healy said with a rise of his eyebrow, getting up to retrieve his own gun

“Figured you had it under control and seems you did. Or more or less. Except for some wounds that can heal. But you managed and survived and that counts. We all should have a drink on this newest successful case” Healy could only shake his head over his partner, as usual.

Mod do you think he’s THAT sympathetic and kind to not leave someone just because she won’t have anywhere to live for a while? She has her family and friends. It wouldn’t be his problem if she doesn’t want to “go south” (lol). And she can find another sugar daddy pretty quickly. I think she’s just convenient enough. Apparently she doesn’t want a traditional family like Taylor did, he hasn’t moved her in after 5 years whereas Taylor moved in like after 5 months, and she’s always free and on call. It sounds so pathetic, but unfortunately it is what it seems it is. I also kinda agree with the other anon saying that he probably thought she was his fantasy and maybe now he thinks that he can never really be successful at finding the right one so he doesn’t even try anymore. Remember that infamous “spit kink” interview? He said Miles fulfills his fantasies. So I guess he really kinda looked for a gf who could fulfill his fantasies and who better than a 70s Birkin/Alexa wannabe? She even started wearing vintage clothes (btw they’re always ugly and honestly no one back in the day wore ugly outfits like that, don’t know how she manages to dress up this bad and her stylist friend doesn’t help her either) maybe he even felt like he could help her build a career (hate to say it, but like Serge helped Jane, EW) he was there for her career at the beginning (going to that performance she had at a restaurant, making her MVs, bringing his designer and editor for her album cover) but he probably found out that she has no ambition or work ethic so he stopped and lost interest. He has said he is a hard-working person himself and we can see that. She’s quite the opposite. Also we don’t know about the inner circle dynamics, all of them are either married/have kids or have partners. Maybe he doesn’t want to look like this single dude lol. I remember in 2018 in LA times interview the journalist mentioned that all of them are married with kids except him, and he said that he’s “never felt more marooned before”. I think it really says a lot about him and his thoughts. Maybe he felt like with the band he’s finally found the friends he always wanted and now that they all have their own family stuff going on he feels left out but also apparently doesn’t want a family of his own (according to himself saying in interviews a few years ago he doesn’t feel ready yet) so he has to have this decorative girlfriend. I don’t think he feels guilty about leaving her. He didn’t feel that when he dumped Arielle or Taylor. And you have to forgive me for bringing up TS because I know you don’t like her lol but she has a song named Getaway Car and it’s basically about how sometimes you’re looking for a way out of a relationship, and another relationship becomes a “getaway car”. I agree with you that he probably saw her as this “getaway car” but the reason she’s stayed this long is the convenience. If I were them I’d listen to Getaway Car and learn my lesson lol. I’m sure we don’t even know 10% of him and what goes on in his mind. People stay in toxic relationship (or even go back to them after leaving) for many reasons. I also think that this is not even what Lou imagined it’d turn out to be. She wanted the full treatment his exes got, including attending public events, spontaneously documented romantic moments by paparazzi, posting him on her ig, having songs written about her, appearing in MVs, getting shoutouts during live performances, fashion show front rows together, maybe she even dreamed of having her photo as an album cover or something and that’s why she desperately, and unsuccessfully, tried it with that concert poster. He ended up never publicly acknowledging her and only sent her to events like Beatles documentary premiere or Celine fashion show with his friends and their partners. He didn’t even attend that La Creme Music Festival last year where she performed. He’s not there when she’d want him to be but she is (/should be) there when he wants her. C’est tragique.

Pooh ok, a lot to unpack here.

First of all, I don't think this is about Alex being sympathetic but simply him being averse to conflict. Dumping her like this would cause a lot of conflict and problems in the future. He knew the other girlfriends had a back-up plan/friends. It seems like Louise has nothing. Just because he broke up/cheated on other girlfriends doesn't mean he didn't feel bad about it. Have we all forgotten 2018? That was not a man who was happy about his cheating and now being with the side chick.

Secondly, some of you guys still haven't gotten used to that English humour, eh? That Miles/Alex interview was clearly them joking around. All he was looking for was an Alexa cosplayer. He just got lucky she was also French.

Re: him looking like the only single guy in this group is what we were talking about with his low self esteem. He needs to work on that in therapy. What does he care how it looks to the outside as long as he's happy about his life? To me this sounds like someone who would like to be single without being judged for it but feels like he needs someone by his side as to not stick out. If he doesn't want to go to therapy for that then he should get more single friends. Instead he settled for Louise looking equally miserable as before.

Not gonna comment on Swifty and that particular song as it has been brought up before. Aren't there people with different tastes in music here as well? Help!

Getting to the Heart of the Mystery of The Resort at San Diego Comic-Con 2022!

According to its new broadcast home Peacock, The Resort is a fast-paced mystery disguised as a multi-generational love story. Series creator Andy Siara describes it even better. "It's a very weird show," Siara joked during roundtable interviews at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Essentially, a fifteen-year-old unsolved mystery entangles an unhappy couple Emma (Cristin Milioti) and Noah (William Jackson Harper) on their anniversary trip to the Yucatan.

The Resort’s all-star cast consists of Harper (The Good Place, The Underground Railroad), Milioti (Made for Love, Palm Springs), Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation, Pam & Tommy), Skyler Gisondo (The Righteous Gemstones, Licorice Pizza), Luis Gerardo Méndez (Narcos: Mexico, Murder Mystery), Nina Bloomgarden (Hot Pink, Jane), and Gabriela Cartol (La Camarista, Hernán).

According to series creator Andy Siara, the idea for the show was envisioned nearly a decade ago. Siara kept going back to the script and rebuilding it. He said it wasn’t working for him until he got a little older. Only after about seven or eight years had passed, was when he realized he was seeing both himself and the script through a nostalgic lens, what really helped The Resort come to life was seeing things differently in his 30s than he had in his 20s.

In anticipation of The Resort's debut on Peacock – which comes out on July 28th – Pop Entertainment sat down with the cast and creators at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 to get the scoop. Below is what they had to say!

Can you tell us a little bit about the characters you play in your new show?

William Jackson Harper: (Jokingly) No!

No? Nothing?

Cristin Milioti: Emma is at a real crossroads in her life. Whether she would admit it or is conscious of it or not, [she] is trying to figure out what went wrong.

William Jackson Harper: Noah is relatively content and probably not interrogating certain things. He’s probably at a place where he thinks he has reached his allotted amount of happiness and anything beyond that is asking just a bit too much. Final answer. (They both laugh)

The story revolves around solving a mystery. Would that be something that would interest you in real life?

Cristin Milioti: It depends on where you are in your life. I think the show does [that] well too. They need this in order to not talk about the elephant in the room. Maybe if I found myself in that energy, I would also be a bit more open to figuring out a murder.

William Jackson Harper: (laughs) Murder most foul. I would probably leave a lot of stuff alone if I found a phone in the woods or something like that. If it’s brand new I’d see if someone needs it back. If it was old, I’d probably just recycle it and just let it go. But the thing about this story that’s interesting is the fact that in spite of all that stuff there is this need to waken things up. In a way I think it’s a subconscious thing for Noah. I know that I’ve switched off in a lot of ways. It’s tough to admit that when you’re in that place. I know I’ve cashed out and given up.

Can you talk a bit about the process of putting together your show from conception to its launch on Peacock?

Andy Siara: To start off, this show was entirely written by me. I had some people read it after it was completed, and they really liked it! I worked with them for about a year or so, and around that time, I told Cristin about it. After that, they took it to UCP, which was their studio. Once COVID hit, things slowed down, but I created the entire roadmap during that time. In March of 2021, we pitched the show to Peacock, and they picked it up!

Why do you think your character of Baltasar is the most important character in the show?

Luis Gerardo Mendez: Baltasar is the head of security of this resort. He has all the secrets and all the information of what happened in this resort in the golden days when everything was perfect. Then this horrible thing happens.

Can you tell us what the horrible thing is that happens?

Luis Gerardo Mendez: Well, I don’t know if I can give any spoilers! Umm, yeah, I shouldn’t. It’s a secret. But you’ll see! It’s not that horrible, it’s just mysterious.

Okay, well we had to try.

What excited you most about the script when you read it?

Nina Bloomgarden: It’s just so bizarre. There are so many little quirks in it that are so funny. Our incredible cast has taken that and improvised with it and just made it unbelievable. I just think people are going to laugh so much and they are going to cry, it’s just so full and has a little bit of everything.

Gabriela Cartol: Yeah, but it’s also deep, and it’s smart, and really good! So much is being done and it’s just really good! When I watched the first episode I wanted to cry because I couldn’t believe I got to be a part of this show. Because as an actress, this is the kind of show I want to work on and to be able to be a part of it. With this cast, it’s a dream come true.

"So are you coming home to see me get drafted? Mater said you might be busy with some art thing. I figured a flight to Baltimore shouldn't be too out of the way. I mean, Nysa is flying from San Fran and a flight from LA is about the equal amount of time, right?"

Gaea rolled her eyes as she listened to her little brother talk a mile a minute. It wasn't that she didn't want to be there and be supportive of him, but the 'art thing' he was referring to was a mural commission the LA Chargers are going to interview her for. Her work caught the eye of someone who knew someone and they reached out to her manager. Apparently one of the players, Bosco or something, followed her Instagram. She will admit she didn't know what the big deal was when Howie called her, absolutely elated at the fact that she caught the attention of a famous person and that the Chargers were suddenly interested in her work.

"I'll try my best, Lexi. I have an important meeting with a possible client. I want to be there, I really do, but I also have to afford to live while completing my Ph.D. studies. I'll let you know for sure by next Friday if I can make it."

Alexios sighed, but didn't object to that, knowing that Gaea would chew him a new one. His other sister, Nysa, was the easier one to convince into things. Gaea? She was scary as hell at times, firm in her convictions, and was hard to sway. Even Nysa had a hard time convincing her to do things and they were closer than Alexios and Gaea.

Gaea had to remind herself to not be guilted by her brothers sulking. It was hard being the oldest of three kids. Their mater was often toughest on her due to cultural reasons. She was the oldest, the first born, and a girl. Her mater's tough expectations often created strains in the family. Gaea and her clashed often on things, Nysa tending to be the more docile one and the people pleaser of the two. Alexios? He was the baby and the apple of their mater's eye. When Gaea wanted to pursue swimming beyond college, it was a waste of time and frowned upon. When she completed her BA in History and MA in Art History, it wasn't good enough. Her pursuing a Ph.D. on the other side of the country? Disrespectful and unnecessary. Nysa was pressured into giving up dance to pursue medicine, but said nothing against it. Alexios? He was able to pursue his dream of playing college football at a D1 school, not work during summer breaks home from college, and was now entering the NFL draft. Their mother, an accomplished anesthesiologist, was the proudest she could ever be and supportive every step of the way.

Their pater? He was a soft-spoken historian who was a people pleaser like Nysa. While he was proud of his children's success and supportive of their individual interests, he often did not speak up against his wife, choosing instead to avoid the confrontation or attempt to diffuse and redirect attention to something else.

Back to the situation at hand, Gaea found herself once again hurt that their mater did not bother to congratulate her for scoring such a big possibility. Nysa was the first person she told, followed by their pater. It reached Alexios from Nysa and, by now, their mater for certain. No texts. No calls. Nothing. Radio silence.

"I get it. I totally do. Just let me know, ok? I just want you to be there for me. To see me make it. I know you and ma aren't always on the best terms, but please don't let her stop you from being with us. Just think about it ok, please?" Alexios pleaded gently.

Gaea had to give him more credit than she did. While sometimes self-absorbed, in his own way, Alexios was aware of things. In some ways Gaea could see the same stubbornness that's in her, in him. The unapologetic push to be heard, to be seen and for someone to listen. She hates to admit it, but it's definitely a trait they got from their mater.

"I'll let you know. I promise, ok? Just worry about preparing yourself and staying in good health. No parties, no large gatherings, and stay out of controversy. I told you two years ago to delete stuff off your social media. I'm glad you did, but remember what happened to that Bosco guy two years ago? All his stupid shit came back to bite him. Don't fuck it up, Lexi!"

Alexios laughed loudly at that, causing Gaea to scoff. "His name is Bosa. Nick Bosa. Plays for the 49ers. His older brother, Joey Bosa, plays for the LA Chargers and is the one who's been liking every instagram post of yours back to 2014."

"Who? I don't even know who that guy is. Howie said a Bosco guy was liking my stuff and followed me. So, I'm assuming that's who they are talking about."

Alexios continued laughing at his sister's lack of football knowledge. "Please, please, please, if you end up meeting him, do not call him Bosco, Gaea! That support could really put you on to bigger clients!"

"You, someone who hasn't ever held down a real job, is telling me how to court clients?" Gaea teased.

"Hey! I helped out mom at her office many summers and helping dad with his archival work in Cyprus many of times - well actually two times, but I still have some skill! Even if I was getting paid under the table."

It was Gaea's turn to laugh. "Yeah, ok, Lexi. You spent more time taking selfies and posing for your instagram followers than you did actually working."

Alexios pouted at that. "Well, all that influencing has landed me some bomb ass endorsements lining up for me to sign. So, I think it paid off!" He shifted around, disappearing from view for a moment before popping back up in front of the camera. "But forreal. I'm going to text you his name. Joey Bosa. Don't forget it! He might be my future teammate and I'll never live it down."

Gaea rolled her eyes. "Bye Alexios. I'll talk to your dramatic ass tomorrow. I'm going to upload some things and then head to bed early."

Alexios gave a peace sign. "I'm heading to bed too. I'm going to see Carla tomorrow. Maybe take her for pizza and woo her into marrying me."

"Good luck with that, baby brother. That'll never happen."

Alexios stuck his tongue out at her. "Chaire, Gigi."

"Chaire, Lexi."

The called ended.

Gaea spent the next half hour uploading her last commissions and checking her email for anything from her advisor and students. By the end of it, she felt her phone go off and rolled her eyes at the text.

Her curiosity got the better of her and she googled his name. She sucked in a surprised breath when his images popped up in Google Image. He was pretty hot - actually, really hot! Her type of guy. She was one to rarely pay attention to the opposite sex, dating her fair share of guys in college and high school, two of which were athletes, and assholes, unfortunately. She hadn't dated in years, but she wasn't blind. He was really attractive and her type. This was the guy going 6 years back and liking all of her instagram posts?

She googled his instagram handle and then looked it up in her phone. Under his profile she could see he followed her and she was surprised.

She ended up clicking the follow button, refreshed the app and went back into her posts. Howie and Alexios weren't kidding when they said he liked all of her photos from the past six years. She scrolled and scrolled and scrolled, shocked at seeing the little circle of his profile pic appear on the likes.

Her phone buzzed and she almost dropped it in shock when she realized it was a private message request in instagram.

@jbbigbear Thanks for the follow. Huge fan of your work.

Gaea stared in confusion for a few minutes at the message. What the hell was going on? How do you respond to that kind of message? What?

She blinked a few more times, watching little dots showing up under his message, stopping and starting repeatedly, before stopping again.

She wanted to slap herself for sounding so lame.

Almost immediately another message came through.

@jbbigbear It's pretty amazing, honestly. The Attack on Titan piece you did? With the water colors? I watched that tutorial video like 5 times. I always sucked at art, but it's cool to watch others do it. I heard you were coming in to interview for a commission with Chargers. Would you be up to go to lunch afterwards? My treat?

@GaeaTsa95 Thanks. It's definitely a process, but water coloring is my preferred method. And yeah, that would be cool. Will you be at the facility or did you want to meet?

@jbbigbear I'll be there at the facility. I have some meetings in the morning with PT so I'll hang around the extra hour so we can go in one car.  That ok?

@jbbigbear I grew up on Italian and Mediterranean food so yeah, I'm down. Never been to a Greek restaurant before, but had some friends who made some stuff before.

@GaeaTsa95 I know a few places with outdoor eating. We can decide tomorrow. I'm going to head to bed now, but I'm looking forward to meeting up tomorrow.
