just like, random thoughts and stuff, mostly bits that i remembered

i sat down to write this i forgot everything oh my god--

in chip's flashback. the black rose pirates following the king to the big sakura tree, and arlin holding baby chip's hand. this. the cutest shit ever, i think i almost cried at the image of this big badass group of pirates and this itty bitty child led gently by his hand. even if i didn't cry before i sure will right now, baby chip you're so dear to me...

QUEEN! they didn't remember anything aughhhhh 😭😭😭😭 and their and chip's little talk about how they're going to put the pieces together :( and their hug :(

whatever drey, finn and earl are doing on the ship... like, what? hello? glad they're having fun tho lol. also wait hold on a second. how did drey answer the call? i mean, probably with his leg or something, if i had to guess. or maybe finn held it up for him. not sure if finn is at it enough to be able to answer the shell by himself, so earl and drey are the only ones who can actually use it. and seing how earl is in a... predicament. hm.

oh my god niklaus, how could i forget about my babygirl. i mean, what can i say i love this guy. i dont know how many times ive relistened to his intro song, but definitely more than i should've... um. there was a lot of big important lore that i don't have the brain capacity to process rn.... i want to say that niki is the nameless prince and/or the thing trapped in the hole in the sea. because he can only interact with one person at a time by inviting them to his pocket dimension (even with jay it was said that the time around her stopped while she was talking with niklaus), implying that niki is trapped somewhere and this is the only constricted way he can interact with the world. and to answer chip's questions he said he wants freedom more than anything, again implying that right now he doesn't have this freedom. which makes sense, right? but then, the big bad thing was supposedly trapped thousands of years ago (i think?), but niklaus was a world famous pirate lord not so long ago and not trapped anywhere, so.....? idk im probably missing something. can't for the life of me find the moment where they read the nameless prince book so like, whatever.

that moment where jay talked to chip about how she thinks its all her fault and she should've just gave up her arm and leg. and how chip reassures her....... them 🥺🤲 kind of inspired by that post abt chip and jay i reblogged earlier, but these two talking about their emotions and feelings is so dear to me. just, being human with each other and opening up. gill is great ofc, but i feel like for these two its much easier to talk to each other to feel understood and heard. i love them.....

chip is still very much dead and probably won't be resurrected any time soon, so... hooray new undead chip design! but also oh my god my poor boy... forever 19... (also charlie and condi being surprised that chip is only 19. yeah </3) my poor guy my poor baby, he sounds so beaten and depressed in the beginning of the episode, its just breaking my heart qwq...

I see a lot of posts from writers being like "omg you guys need to REBLOG THINGS"

And like, yeah, that do be the whole point of tumblr

But I see some of these same people with stuff in their bios like "don't spam like" or "spam likes will be blocked" (on twt I see "don't bookmark!" a fair amount) and like... there's one of two things going on here

1. They're talking about bots? Do bots ever like posts? I thought they just followed and sent sketchy links. If it's about bots: I can't relate, and honestly, the post can end here because I've majorly misinterpreted what that's all about.

2. They're talking about people who find an old/multi-chaptered/etc. fic and like each post as they go. Which... I dont really see the problem with?? Like... why is anyone upset that someone is reading their stuff and liking it??? There seems to be this strict dichotomy of likes vs reblogs but I'd honestly rather know that someone is going through the series and enjoying it than be sitting here like "oh, I guess nobody read/likes it." Does a like help me reach a wider audience? Not really, but it does send a little message to my brain mice that says "good job guys", and I think that's also nice.

Actually, that last sentence isn't necessarily true. I've noticed that, often, when someone is spam-liking something, it is often followed by a small bump in likes from other users. So, like, that spam liker may not have full-on reblogged the thing, but I can't help but think they sent the post to someone, which is also nice.

Idk. I just think any interactions are nice, even if it's not the fabled reblog with commentary. And I think it's rude and egotistical to outright say that you don't like those smaller interactions.

not rude! unfortunately posts about pronouns arent one of the things i strictly catalog, so you could try looking through my #pronouns tag but there isn't much there, so there's no guarantee you'll find the specific post you're looking for.

i did likely tag a post like that with something like #queer or #trans but i have so many posts and reblogs tagged those things- I'm not sure it'd be worth your time to comb through them. I also wasnt aware any post I'd made about pronouns had been reblogged so idk if i could find whichever one might've been reblogged recently.

uuuuuhh for a quick rundown of my thoughts i guess I'd say:

using it/its pronouns is GENERALLY dehumanizing to most people because it's a way to show people that you think very little of them, that you're comparing them to something *less than human*

Of course this functions within the idea that "human" is inherently better or higher in the hierarchy than "animal" or "plant" which isn't inherently true- but that's its own post.

so you're being misgendered or de-gendered as a show of disrespect/contempt.

HOWEVER. if someone WANTS to use it/its then all of that kind of flies out the window. how is that disrespectful, it's just your actual pronouns. it can't be dehumanizing if the person in question doesn't consider it dehumanizing, or doesn't consider being non-human less dignifying, or a dozen other potential reasons that person feels comfortable with it/its.

like some of us know that our overlapping identities make us less than human to a lot of people already, so why bother trying to insist you're included in a version of humanity that CLEARLY wasn't made to fit you (we talked about this a lot in my black readings class last year, about how, like, a lot of modern concepts of what it meant to be a human were created to kind of intentionally strip black people of the "human"/"person" status.)

so like if I'm already a monster and a freak and inhuman why does it matter if I use human pronouns or not.

and there's prolly more i could say but I should get back to my homework now, hah.

ok i need someone elses (especially- but not exclusively- other afab autistics, cis or trans) thoughts on this shit cause im losing my goddamn mind i just have so many feelings about gender and its fucking me up

ok so.

ive always sorta felt disconnected with my gender and i dont think me being autistic helps with it either. what with trying to pinpoint feelings and all that being hard. and it has i guess planted a lot of doubt surrounding my thoughts and feelings about my own gender in my mind. i question if everything im feeling is just bc im autistic. which is why im making this post!! i just need some outside perspectives and thoughts and i guess i want to know that im probably not alone in my struggles with this.

idk how i wanna structure this post but ill just write down the things that come to mind.

like before i hit puberty i was not into the idea of it at all. and before i had considered the fact that i might be trans, i thought it was just because i didnt like the thought of change. and i think thats normal, being hesitant about puberty.

BUT uhm. now im not religious. but i vividly remember praying to god that i would at least be as late a bloomer as possible. if not, never ever going through afab puberty. and i always felt more inclined towards amab puberty, and i thought it was a MUCH better deal than whatever afab puberty was going to do with me.

and i feel really silly writing this cause that does not sound like something a normal cis girl would do or think... and i feel quite confident in me being not cis. but i guess this is just a post to seek some validation in my suspicion and feelings. but i also want to know if it is an experience others share.

my gender thoughts as i call them have been particularly prevelant since 2019, thats when i think i first started contemplating whether i might just actually be trans. at that time i believe it was more towards the non binary, but nowadays its ftm

and i just idk. im kinda lost and lonely here, i havent talked about with any family members which are the people i spend most of my time with currently. i wanted to get the perspective of people who are also autistic and might relate to the gender feelings and yeah

and ok no sorry, jumping back, cause its always at its worst before and during shark week (like right now :)) and that has also thrown me off quite badly

cause what if its just pms, or just some kinda hormone imbalance or some shit like that. am i crazy cause sometimes i feel like im driving myself mad with this stuff. is it common to have really intense thoughts about gender anytime your period is about to kick in.

also growing up with a younger brother (who also has a whole ass army of guy friends) when you have these thoughts is fucked up ngl who allowed this. youre telling me he gets to just get that puberty for free. fucking hell wtf

content creators like you create content for a reason. some do it for money (by charging people money for their work) some do to pursue a hobby during their free time. im assuming youre one of them too, so why is 'getting interaction', or in other words, clout, so important to you? aren't you guys doing this for your own satisfaction? if you really think your content deserves to be seen and appreciated by EVERYONE out there, then why not make it more serious and make it a career? if you yourself choose to come on, as you said, a FREE site like tumblr, shouldn't you know it well that maybe your work wont be appreciated?

a lot of content creators have done the same but some of the people here don't even understand how it affects us. even if we had to play this all over again, nothing changes, i guess we have to stop reminding you guys about it? and if you're telling me to go make it a career, yeah probably i should instead of being annoying around here right? i could have gone to a book publishing company or stay in wattpad or somewhere else. but i'm not only speaking for myself. it's really annoying how people treat you around here. like i said, i don't usually post a rant that long but seeing my other moots who are way more better than me getting a few feedbacks and just getting likes hurts me you know? people like them deserves more recognition or maybe it was just our mistake coming here at all.

Reverse Comfort Character: a word I made up >:)

Ok so you've all heard of comfort characters but have you ever heard of a REVERSE comfort character?

I'm inventing a new word today.

You can't stop me.

You fucking can't.

I'm doing it.

Actually I guess you can technically stop me since like... this post is not going to get much traction if you dont like... reblog it and stuff... idk asujgdnkhgmshdnjkshdnhsms

Anyway. Basically, if a comfort character is one you want to come to so you can feel good about yourself, and possibly imagine getting advice from and getting affection from, a reverse comfort character is one who you want to make feel better about themSELVES and give advice to and give affection to!

Have you ever seen a show.played a game/watched a movie/read a book/etc where one of the characters is a total disaster but you can't help but want to give them a hug and tell them everything is going to be okay and everything isn't the end of the world? I sure as hell have! That describes... a LOT of the characters I like.

Well, these characters sure as hell don't have qualities that "make me happy when i see them on screen" no sir, no sir! They don't necessarily make me happy when I think about them, either, but I do sometimes think about the fact that I want things to be better for them, and I want to see them become a better person. I like it when I see hints of something GOOD in there and they do nice things. I wish I could be there for them, but I know things wouldn't work out super well and the relationship/friendship (lol who the hell am I kidding it's always romantic with me, I'm a NON-aro-ace person on tumblr. What the hell do you expect) is gonna crumble. Cause I'm just like them. I am. I can't help it, I try to do what I can, but at the end of the day, I AM that character. Two negatives doesn't always make a positive, you know...

But I can change. I can, if they can change, fuck it, so can I. And then i can write better stories cause I know things, which includes ones about me making out with these particular characters :D

I mean- ahem. Ahem ahem ahem.

Essentially the appeal here is, look at this character, they suck, I love them, I want to give them a hug and make them feel good and try to show them the way to a better life. I know this won't actually happen, and I know that a relationship between me and this character might not work as well as I want it to, but that's okay, this is just me liking a character and that's it.

I think this way of thinking actually will help a lot of people, because I know a lot of people will start idolizing characters they SHOULDN'T be idolizing. (ex. Rick Sanchez. I know we prefer to forget about it and like someone reading this just cringed, but it is an example) I personally think that the best way to appreciate a piece of media, and the best way to engage with it, is to be able to recognize its faults AND its beauty together. That goes for engaging with characters. People should be SMARTER than this! Don't just say "wow this character is so awesome" when they clearly AREN'T! Say that they are awesome but also admit that they have ISSUES and stuff. I think using this term also will make a clear distinction between whether you admire a character or not, which is very needed. If you tell someone "my comfort character is (someone fucked up)" of course they're gonna look at you weird for more reasons than the fact that that is a really weird fucking thing to say- cause like... you know they're gonna think... "YOU LOOK UP TO THAT GUY?!" Nobody looks up to that guy. We look at him more like you look at a trainwreck. It's a... goddamn beautiful trainwreck, but like... it's still a trainwreck.

I'm talking about REALLY, REALLY flawed characters here btw if that wasn't clear despite the fact that I believe I have reitorated that like 3 times or something by now. And I want to make the distinction between really flawed and just kind of flawed or even kind of perfect. You know how it is. Some characters are genuinely worth admiring, and some I think are fine to be thought of as friends or as people you come to when you need comfort. (as in, you watch them when you're down, or whatever)

There is something a little weird about this whole comfort character phenomenon in my opinion, though, since, nothing is ever going to beat real human interaction. It is okay to do this as long as it isn't the only thing you have, and as long as it's not the most IMPORTANT thing to you. You need to go outside sometimes and talk to people, and I know not everyone here is all over that, but you do. You do and I'd know that better than anyone else. That's not true and was an exaggeration, I do not know that better than anyone else, but I do know it.

Anyway thank you for getting this far in my little ramble. I am sorry if it was cheesy, accept this virtual puke bucket to throw up any ingested saccharine cheesy sappy goods that ruined your virtual teeth for virtual ever. This is the end of the ramble.

I'm the anon that sent you the message about hating the term PoC. Yeah, I pretty much agreee with everything you say. I don't believe much in POC solidarity because our struggles are very different between each other, and trying to paint everything as us vs whites does not really work. Perhaps for americans it does, since they have a very diverse population, but it's more difficult when talking about other countries.

Like latin americans do not have the best relationships between each other, they might share language but have very different cultures. Like the other day I was reading about this cartoon named "Oye primos" that was going to premiere and it was made by a second gen latina, where she looked to represent her growing up in a latin community in the USA, but she was clowned by pretty much every latino leaving outside of America. First, because the name of the cartoon is gramatically wrong (it should be "OIGAN primos, not OYE primos), second, because she used the word "LATINX", which latinos hate, and third, because she named the town the characters live in "Terremoto (Earthquake) Heights" or something like that (people though it was offensive because Mexico and Chile have suffered through a lot of earthquakes). And there's other stuff, like people saying the animation is ugly (very calart) and so on. Some people even started praising Los Casagrande, a spin off of The Loud House with a main mexican family thats not even made by latinos, but its considered far superior.

Sorry, I got a little carried away with that, what I wanted to say it's that its pretty common for latinos to kinda tear each other up, but they unite if they want to clown a "gringo" or something (and yes, they pointed out that the author basically being a 2nd gen makes her a gringa... I guess). Plus a lot of latinos dont like anything that looks "woke", and they considered that show does, so it was doomed from the start. The creator of the show felt pretty overwhelmed by the negative reception, received a lot of backlash and it apparently affected her a lot. I feel pretty bad for her actually.

And yeah, argentinians are actually pretty white, not only because a lot of italians and germans migrated there (if you ever read the names of their national soccer team, you'll notice many names are of italian origin), but because they're at the very south. Chile is also pretty white. But yeah, argentinians have always been pinned as being pretty arrogant and full of themselves, so it doesnt surprise me that they feel they're superior because their team is white. I remember that argentinians and fans of Messi in general were clowning Mbappe for allegedly being in a relationship with a transwoman, so they invented some pretty homophobic chants... soccer fans be like that

What's funny with Latins is that they have this thinly veiled superiority complex with Black people.....but highkey are envious of the cultural impact of Black culture worldwide. Latin culture has a load of influence on music, but its impact is not as multifaceted as Black culture (beside music, fashion, hairstyles, make up, slang, etc.). I saw some Latins seethe about Black Panther and the hype the Black community was having from this movie, and Black twitter, in its usual shadiness got like "hmmm don't you have Rio? 🤔" LMAOOOO (it was before Encanto though)

And is France racist? hm... I mean, it's a European country 🥴🥴 but it's definitely one of the least racist one for sure. Non french netizens will do the most about how islamophobic France is, but Islam isn't a race so the problem our country has with Islam isn't much related to race. Because of colonization, France has many territories oversea where its natives are Black, so France is inherently already multiracial, and that's something that many French people acknowledge. I feel like french are more worried about culture than race (ln many aspects, I, as a Christian Black woman, have to bear much less prejudice than a Muslim male, for example). That's why our country is very defensive against Islam (which comes with a whole cultural set) rather than race.

We consider assimilation as a staple and reject self IDing communities (whether they might be sexual, racial, religious). Any stats trying to quantity race, religion or sexuality are ILLEGAL, here. That's why when I see foreign rightoids be like "France is already 25% Muslim!! #greatreplacement" I just know they are full of shit, because such stats are technically illegal...

To give you an example, France leader of the far-FAR right is a Jew...(Eric Zemmour) and a significant amount of people from North Africa/muslim are in the (far) right too.. (many of them change their names to make them sound more french/less Arab such as Jean Messiha lmao)

France itself is a mixed nation between Romans invader and Galicians (basically France indigenous) also some viking mingling in the north(?) That's why french people can be very phenotypically diverse. If you look Griezman (France North type) and Kenji Girac (Southern France type - he's also a gypsy) who are both White french while looking quite different.

Unfortunately nationalism is on the rise, there's an actual revival of neo Nazi (which is hilarious bc France has been invaded/defeated by Nazi and that actual self respecting French rightoids hate Nazism because of that 💀) so I feel like France is getting less sale for foreigners/non Whites. I think France is the best place to live in Europe if you're afraid of racism but yeah, it's getting quite heated here....

“Pansexual is just another word for bisexual except now you’re being biphobic (and transphobic and homophobic) about it.” is what the post said - and here’s why i agree!

i have seen pansexual defined in millions of different ways since it first appeared. at first, pansexuality was created with the aim to substitute the bisexuality, because young LGBT kids mistakenly thought the the “bi-“ prefix (which in greek means two) meant that bisexuals were attracted to only 2 genders, so they took the prefix away and put pan- in its place, which also comes from greek but means “all” instead of “two”. just by doing this, they clearly created the pansexual label in opposition to bisexuality, advertising the neologism as being more inclusive, and i remember the definition at the time being like “attraction to men, women, trans men, trans women and non binary people” (i think you can still find this definition online somewhere lol!)

bisexuals at the time started to vocalise their discomfort with this new label, as it erased bisexual history and the true meaning of bisexuality, and they highlighted the biphobic origin of the name of the label. trans people were also very uncomfortable with it, why would you need a special label to be attracted to trans men and trans women? trans men are men and trans women are women, not some elusive extra gender. some nb people also pointed out a similar issue, u dont need a special label to be attracted to nb people… even other sexualities (like lesbian, gay, straight etc.) can be attracted and be in a relationship with nb people without it affecting their sexuality/gender identity.

at this point, instead of reading the bisexual manifesto or acknowledging the concerns of actual bisexuals/trans ppl/nb people, pansexuals came up with a new definition, the (honestly TERRIBLE) “hearts not parts”, which was called out for (again) being biphobic because like: are u saying bisexuals only care about “parts”? this defintion was not only biphobic, but also homophobic too; same gender attraction has always been seen as nasty and impure and being only about sex, and to make bisexuality (historically associated with gay people, it is the LGBT community after all) all about sex is a bit (a lot) 😬 yikes

so then the definition changed again; now it’s bi = attraction to more than one gender and pan = attraction regardless of gender and like. im sorry but that’s literally the same thing, just worded differently

so my (and many others’) question is: what’s the point of having two names for the same thing? the post i reblogged was about the dangers of microlabeling, and it being a reflection of individualism and a symptom of late-staged capitalism, and pansexuality is a stark example of that. the word bisexual is enough! as a word, it has history, depth and carries a sense of community; on the other hand, pansexuality was first born out of a misunderstanding of bisexuality and has biphobic, transphobic, and homophobic roots in its (very short) history; the definition differs only in meaningless semantics, and it does not carry any of the history nor sense of community. so like! what’s the point? is it really so important to have both? is it necessary? does it benefit anyone, apart from corporations who can now also sell pan flags and movie studios who now can call it "representation" just bc they claimed in a tweet that a character is “pan” because they want to fuck an alien but otherwise show no signs of same gender attraction? idk stuff i think about a lot i guess!!

i think seeing plays is fun but being part of the production is way more exciting. i love getting to see all the behind the scenes work and like. i like being able to work with my hands a lot. and when i was spotlight for a few shows . that was so exciting. this is kinda lame but i get chills super easily from watching things (idk how else to explain this. chills. goosebumps. because im excited.) so whenever i would watch the shitty high school theatre productions we did i was still like. so proud of all the work that went into it. and i got chills every show. most of the time i didnt get to watch the show though because i was moving things on and off set. watching plays on youtube is so real.. i watched uh.. ok heres an actual thought. sorry if it sounds awkward. some of this would be spoilery so i will just not include it but. pirates are all about dreams. they have big, lofty goals that they dont usually tell people about, probably out of shame and embarrassment. in sabaody it is hinted that kidd and killer told people that they were going after the one piece, and they were laughed at for it. not many pirates are like luffy, who proudly proclaims that he will be king of the pirates and find the one piece.

i find it really interesting that crocodile is hinted at having had a dream that was only possible through taking over alabasta. and enel's dream was to get to the "endless varse", even after being defeated he still headed towards his dream. he just ended up going alone. big mom's dream is a utopia where every race can live peacefully together. they all are willing to do awful things for the sake of their dreams.

but again, the difference between luffy and these other people and their dreams is that luffy is not hurting people in the pursuit of his dream. he isnt causing a bunch of people to suffer. in fact, he is doing the opposite. he has continuously been shown to free people from their oppressive rulers, and he crushes the dreams of those who are willing to sacrifice innocent people to achieve their goals.

i dont really have an end point to this but i think that the differences are kind of proof that luffy is going to actually succeed. because he is good at heart. because he doesnt kill people for the sake of his dream. and also i pity the people he defeated. like yeah theyre awful. but i cant help but wonder what crocodile wanted. i cant help but think about what kind of circumstances led them to that point in their life
