Charles was angry. No, he was furious.

Race didn't go well. He had to retire after Perez touched him and he ended up in the wall.

Race was good, for two laps he was even leading but then the Mexican showed up and Charles’ good race said “bye bye”.

“Charles,” his girlfriend said after they were finally in their hotel room.

He wasn't in the mood for talking. He didn't want her pity. He wanted to take a shower (another one) and scream in his pillow.

The girl was looking at him, worried. This wasn't the state she has seen him for many times. It was the first time actually.

“I don't wanna talk” he answered only and grabbed some clothes of his and entered the bathroom.

“If you’d like to-” she started but he turned around to face her with anger written on his face, panting.

“Shut up!” Charles yelled at her and entered the bathroom. She was left speechless. There were tears forming in her eyes that started falling down when she heard the slam of the door.

Oh, she really didn't want it to come back.

Life was good, great even, then those memories came to her mind, causing another session of crying.

The girl had no idea what to do.

Her eyesight wasn't so clear as she was looking for the tissues, convinced that her make up was smeared as hell.

When she finally found some in her bag, she next jumped on the bed and covered herself with the blanket.

Her heart was hurt, it didn't crack in shatters but still it hurt as hell.

She felt like that seven year old girl, who was standing in front of her father, crying because he yelled at her.

She was screamed at because of trying to make her dad come to terms with her beloved mother.

It was too much for little Y/N. It hunted her for years.

Especially now, when her and Charles were trying everything to have a baby. She was frightened she became the same as her father and her child would have to experience the same case as she had.

And now it was too much for adult Y/N.

She knew she should meet her therapist as soon as she could but she couldn't since she was travelling with her boyfriend around Asia for the next two weeks and her therapist wasn't doing online appointments.

And there she was, still lying on her side of the king-size bed covered with a blanket and still crying.

Charles wasn't aware of his girlfriend's reaction to his behaviour until he left the bathroom, all showered and with a clear mind, and heard sobs in the room.

He sighed only and went to the bed and took a seat beside the girl. He carefully took off the blanket of her face and saw her with smeared make up, red eyes and runny nose.

She didn't want to talk with him and put her head in the pillow, so he couldn't look at her.

“I'm sorry-” he started but her hushed by the pillow voice interrupted him with:

“I don't wanna talk.”

So Charles didn't talk more but kissed her head quickly and left to the living room, to give her space he knew she needed.

The next hour went, well, silent.

Y/N wasn't sobbing anymore, just blowing off her nose and coughing from time to time. Charles at the other hand was thinking about his new song and was trying to write any notes but he lacked at stave paper and at any keyboard or piano.

The girl finally got out of the bed and entered the bathroom. She grabbed some cotton pads and put micellar water on it and began to remove her make up.

It was a heavenly feeling for her, since her eyelids were sticking to each other because of the mascara.

Next she grabbed some cleaning foam and removed the rest of the cosmetics and put on the cream.

The girl left the bathroom and went to Charles who was sitting on the couch with some folded paper around.

He heard her steps and turned around to see her face.

“Ready to talk?” he asked only and she nodded, then sat beside him. “I'm sorry, truly” he said, looking into her eyes, that he loved so much. Now they were puffed and red from the crying.

“I know” she answered and hugged him like a koala. Charles wrapped his arms around her body, without saying any words.

“What happened?” the man asked, rubbing her back with his palm. “Tell me, I'm not leaving this without any explanation,” he added in a calm tone.

The girl was silent for a few moments. But then she told him only:

“Father was screaming at me for trying to help.”

Charles was speechless. He knew his girlfriend’s relationship with her father wasn't good, but he didn't know it was that bad. He never asked since her mother told him not to for the girl's mental state.

“I'm sorry, dove. I'm so sorry” he whispered to her ear, trying to comfort her the best he could.

“I don't want to be like him” she mumbled in the crock of his neck and he sighed.

“You are not like him,” he assured her. “You will never be like him,” he added and kissed her temple. “You are a better person than him, dove.”

“I love you” she mumbled.

“I love you too” she whispered back and they remained silent for the rest of the night, cuddled in each other’s arms.

Your head almost hit your desk, you opened your eyes trying to focus on the notes you had been concentrating on before, but sleep was winning this battle, lately you had the night shift of the cafeteria where you worked and it was breaking your college schedules.

But you liked work and money always came in handy, you cut yourself off from your family when you went to study outside your hometown, your relationship with them was never very close so you had to look for work because you weren't someone rich.

At least, not at the beginning of your first years of studies, you met Shanks after you spent two years living alone, he offered you small jobs, such as being his companion at galas, meetings or other kind of favors for a large amount of money, that's how you became his sugar baby, even though you started to have more money you still liked your job so you continued there.

You decided to close your laptop to stop studying, it wasn't even that late at night but your energy was completely depleted, just before you lay down on the bed, you checked your messages seeing that Shanks himself had sent you a message.

You frowned slightly, he was asking you to accompany him to a gala tonight, lately you had an internal conflict about your relationship with him, even if your relationship is purely for financial interest at a certain point you noticed that he liked to indulge you much more than normal, you never had the courage to ask if he wanted a serious relationship because being a multi-millionaire man with several companies, he had a couple of other women by his side as companions on other occasions, you interpreted it as being nice to you for being in your situation.

You answered in the negative, your brain was off enough not to feel like being a person full of life and smiling, not today, you needed a break from all this exhaustion of exams and clients. You sent another apology message for not being available and once and for all your body sank into your bed hoping to rest.

An hour after you fell asleep, some anxious knocking on your door made you wake up from your sleep, completely annoyed by whoever decided to interrupt your well-deserved rest, you were ready to yell at what you thought was a neighbor who decided to ask you for a favor, however the words died on the tip of your tongue at the sight of the redhead standing in the hallway of your building block.

You cut the string of him off with a little kiss, all this nervousness over a confession, if you were a teenager you'd be winding your hair around your finger with a goofy grin on your face, even though you did have the goofy grin.

You changed your smile to a flat expression, though the joke didn't last long when you saw the man's kicked puppy face, making you roll your eyes and kiss him again, he grabbed your hands rubbing his thumb against your knuckles.

"So… there was something else I'd like to ask you" you raised an eyebrow at his words, nodding for him to continue "would you like to come live with me? Since you are my official partner, I would like to pamper you much more."

"I…"

Your mind entered the conflict of the moving, Shanks does not live near the city which would imply that you needed a method of daily transportation, in addition to the fact that you didn't want to leave your job even with this offer in hand.

"Don't worry about anything! I would do anything to balance our schedules and be able to take you everywhere, I'm not asking you to quit your job if you like it, I just want us to spend more time together without needing excuses."

"Okay Shanks, I would like that too, but the next time you want to propose something to me, don't do it on a Sunday at two in the morning or I'll cut any kind of contact."

"But-!"

"No 'but', now let's go to bed" he raised his eyebrows up and down hinting while squeezing your thigh, you sighed rubbing your temple "or I go to bed and you go to the sofa, if that's what you want."

"I was kidding!"

"Mmmh yeah, the sofa will like your jokes."

"Oh, come on, babe!"

You readjusted your shirt, looking at yourself for the last time in the mirror that was in the room where the employees were allowed to change into the cafeteria uniform, luckily today it was afternoon shift for you and not many people used to pass by, at least not as much as in the morning shift.

You were able to study as there were only a couple of clients, you had to keep up with your studies since you decided to move on your own and live on your own without the extra help of your parents, it was quite hard to maintain an accommodation and pay for your studies at first, but when you found a job you also found an offer you couldn't refuse.

Apparently this was the favorite coffee shop of Dracule Mihawk, one of the city's billionaires, quite ironic that someone rich would like a completely ordinary coffee shop, but you weren't one to judge, not when he took an interest in you after you served him at your first day of work. From that day on, he always began to come to ask about you and eventually he became interested in you helping him with some things for a certain amount of money.

Of course, with your financial situation you couldn't refuse, plus most of the time you only had to accompany him to boring meetings with other businessmen, everyone knew Mihawk as someone lonely and sometimes he needed to surprise with a companion, according to him, you made a good impression and matched perfectly with him.

Your relationship was merely something professional, you did your job and he paid you for your services, you had a certain affection for Mihawk due to the fact that more than once he consented to some details despite not having done anything special, he behaved like a gentleman to you even though you were doing him no favors. You blinked a few times, tucking a lock of your hair behind your ear, incredulous at his audacity, you looked into his eyes, instantly regretting seeing his intense gaze, apparently it wasn't some kind of bad joke, although you thought that maybe he needed you for one of the meetings.

"Do you need a companion again? I'll be free in a couple of hours."

"No, it's not that, I'm completely serious, I want to formalize our relationship to something more than a relationship for mere benefit, I've tried to tell you before but it never seemed to be the occasion."

"I would also like to offer you to live with me, it doesn't have to be something immediate, I know that the changes can be overwhelming, but I would like you to think about it, I would like to consent to you of my own free will and not for services."

"I'll think about it Mihawk, but I like this place…"

He nodded, he understood that you liked the job even though you weren't going to have those problems with money anymore, he wasn't going to deprive you of that, plus he can always come see his favorite person in his favorite place, he couldn't ask for more.

"So, you said your shift ended in a couple of hours?"

"I thought you didn't need me, did you have a meeting?"

"No, I want to take you to our first official date."

He brought your hand to his lips, leaving a soft kiss on it, your face heating up at his actions, you accepted the proposal and began to make his usual order, waiting impatiently for your shift change. You completely forgot what you were studying before, thinking about what to wear to your date, the remaining hours passed quickly without many more customers so you could sit and chat with Mihawk for a while.

"Ready to go, mi amor¹?"

You took his hand with a smile once you left in your normal clothes, saying goodbye to your coworker while Mihawk walked you home so you could change clothes and then took you on the first date of many after this day.

Caliyork fluff

They have the best cuddles. Since New York is always cold and California is always hot their cuddles are great. New York likes to press his chest against California’s back (the hottest area for Cal is his back) when he’s the big spoon and vice versa for Cal.

California loves to make cool things he finds for New York. New York has an entire collection of origami and other artistic things Cal’s made for him.

Their favorite things to do is to curl up with each other and do their own little things. Whether that be Cal reading a book and New York listening to music, it doesn’t matter. They just love being near one another.

California can be a really good cook when he’s in the mood. Before he and New York got together he was in a big slump, always pushing himself too hard and stressed, so he relied heavily on microwavable meals and junk food. New York coming into his life really helped get him back onto his feet. New York loves his food whenever he cooks and will cook with him sometimes.

The power couple in meetings. Don’t fuck with one of them if you don’t want the other to jump you. Neither of them are scared to fight.

Can be heard laughing in each others rooms late at night or during the day. Those two are always doing something together and relaxing in one of their rooms.

New York likes to bring Cal to his rats/pigeons just to see his happy and excited face. He finds it adorable at how happy he gets playing with the animals.

Caliyork angst

California has bad attachment issues and a fear of abandonment. He’s always scared that New York is gonna leave him once he realizes that he isn’t worth it or that he’s with him out of pity. New York makes sure to assure him that no, he isn’t gonna leave him and that he does love him very much.

New York has come home on multiple occasions drunk as hell and bloodied after a fight. It scares the hell out of California each time. They’ve gotten into a few arguments over it and NY’s promised to step away from drinking. He’s healing slowly.

New York worries that California’s gonna leave him as soon as he realizes that New York is a shitty partner. California lets him know that he’s the best boyfriend Cal could ever ask for and that no matter what he isn’t leaving.

They’ve said some hurtful things to each other during rare fights multiple times and have almost broken up over it. It usually ended up with the two taking breaks for a bit before starting up couples therapy to the others relief. Things are getting better and they are learning how to communicate better.

New York has a bit of a jealousy problem. He’ll latch onto California and attack your ass if he deems you as overstepping boundaries. California’s the same way but he’s a bit more relaxed about it since he knows New York well and trusts him. It’s caused a bit of a problem on multiple occasions so they are working on fixing it.

It's okay to like a problematic character and it's okay to like a ship, the problem starts when people justify such problematic characteristics to make them "acceptable", like justifying Neji's treatment at the hands of the Main Family because he was "mean" to Hinata, despite him warning her about fighting him and asking her to forfeit multiple times.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but Hinata chose a side. Ignoring the matter or not giving it the relevance that it has even after her cousin's speech during their match or his match vs. Naruto, is to actively support the system in place; she might truly believe that is for the "greater good," as so his Konoha's mantra, but it doesn't change the fact that she agrees with the practice.

I don't see her as a good person for the reasons mentioned above, no good person sees her uncle being tortured and her cousin being enslaved and believes to be the bigger victim in their dynamic. His death was also used to give Hinata a "moment" with Naruto.

She can't, not just because she's weak (Shikamaru doesn't shine because he's particularly strong, he isn't), but also because she often puts her wishes above the safety of those under her command (Koü Hyüga) and can't come up with a basic strategy to fight her opponents. -god I have so many thoughts. Meera is just such a kind looking girl (and Ellie Kendrick made me gay) who dresses like a bog person and throws nets and spears 10/10 no notes I love you swamp wife. Jojen is similar but he’s a sickly swamp boy which makes me sad but it’s an interesting character design I care him. Stannis is soooo fucking good like having his brothers height and strength but none of their charisma and also he’s balding is actually hilarious. Absolute unit of a depressed man

I’M GOING TO MEXICO. I’M GOING TO MEXICO. What is my life. Nothing and I mean nothing could have prepared me for this. I have always wanted to go to Mexico. Fuck I need to pack. 

In order to pack I gotta get new clothes cause there is no way in hell I am going Mexico without new clothes. Just as I’m scrolling online for new clothes, there’s a knock at my door. “Kenzie. Can I come in please?” The voice says. “Yea sure.” Low and behold it’s Jungkook. “This has to be quick because I have a meeting, but i’m taking you shopping for Mexico today. So get ready. We leave in an hour sweetheart.” Jk says with a smile.  

Honestly it’s like this man knows what I need. “Okay thats for letting me know.” I say with a smile as he leaves my room. “Well it’s a good thing I was about to shower anyways.” I say to myself. 

Time Skip to after shower(cause im lazy) 

It’s honestly still kinda warm outside so I think I’m gonna wear the cute blue sundress Jimin got me for my birthday. As I finished getting dressed I realized I was hungry. I wanted to see if Jk was hungry but he said he was in a meeting.  

While I’m making my breakfast Jimin walks downstairs. “Good Morning Kenzie” he says with a kind smile. “Good Morning Jimin” I say back. “Whatcha making” “Umm just eggs and bacon right now” “Ahh sounds good but currently I am slightly hungover so just water and sleep for me. I’ll see u later.” He says grabbing a cup and going back upstairs. As Jimin goes upstairs Jk comes downstairs. “Has it been an hour already.” I say washing ny dishes. “It has sweetheart. Are u ready to go.” Jk say.  I nod going to grab my purse but Jk stops me. “You’re not paying. It’s on me. Let’s go.” He says walking the door. 

Another time skip to the end of shopping.

As the shopping trip comes to an end. We walk past a lingerie store. I needed some new ones. “Jk can we go in there please.” I say with a smile. He says nothing but nods. I giggle as I walk into the store. I picked out so cute lingerie but me being me I wanted to tease so I slipped on a baby blue set to show Jk. “What do you think Jk” I say stepping out of the dressing. The minute I see him look up, his eyes darkened. “You look beautiful sweet girl.” He say walking up to me and places his hands on my hips. “Go change so I can show how beautiful you look.” He whispers. I’ve never changed so fast. 

As he pulls up in the driveway of the house we barely make it too my room before his lips are on mine. “I’ve wanted you from the moment we met sweetheart.” He says kissing down my neck. I had now words just mumbled moans and whimpers. As things start to get steamy, his phone rings. He groans and answers it. “What” He answers angrily. “I already talked to them about the shipment Jin. Okay i’ll go join it now.” He says as he hangs up. “I’m sorry princess but we will have to finish this another time.” He says as he kisses me goodbye. “Okay i’ll see u tmr for the flight.” I say flustered. As he leaves my room, I can’t help but giggle. I almost had sex with my boss. 

Well looks like this Mexico trip is gonna be fun. Time to pack and head to bed.

I totally understand your point of view on Michael and I agree, that's his character but I think that when it comes to Michael and the way that you portray Vic when they're fighting just doesn't really match the way she is described in the rest of the story yk? She just sounds and acts really childish. And in my opinion crying and having verbal fights with him isn't really standing up for herself because she just never actually leaves and always does whatever Michael wants her to do and he knows that. She just sounds like a toddler throwing a fit, crying and never does anything else really. Michael does whatever he wants because he knows that he can play her however he desires and the only thing she will do is cry and than be silenced by him and that's it. Even when she left to ny, she always did whatever Michael wanted her to do, he said it himself "if I want you to stay, i know you will", to me she seems more like a ragdoll in his hands rather than someone that he supposedly loves and calls the love of his life. I understand that he has a character but in this story, his marriage to Vic is already something that is already off character to him, so in my mind it only makes sense that he wouldn't do to her some things that he does because it just doesn't make sense in that way. And I think that Vic's character is forgotten when it comes to fighting Michael, he has a character and he acts according to that but Vic doesn't act according to her character in those fight scenes. I don't know if I'm explaining myself clearly, it's a little difficult for me, english is not my first language so i'm sorry if my thoughts aren't well organised/explained and for any mistakes that I may be commiting. Like I said, i really love your writing, it's some of the best work in the world of fanfiction in my opinion but I really wish that Victoria was more respected by him and that she respected herself enought to actually not do whatever he wants her to do and to just accept to be treated the way she is in some situations. And that he would start to show his love and respect for her by not doing what he does like calling her useless and just humilliating her at every oportunity, that really is not love and really doesnt fit the love that he has for her in this story, thats what im trying to say. He just never suffers the consequences because she never put a stop to it simply. At the end of the day, its your story and your work and you write it the way that you want it, I totally understand and respect it but if you do part 2 (and i reaaally hope you do) would it be possible for Vic to truly make Michael suffer for once? I would really enjoy seeing that, at least once. Just a little side story where maybe we are able to see something different from the main story, if possible. Also, do you think that is something that you would be able to publish before new year? Again, I dont mean to sound rude or just wanting to demand things, its just that i'm currently obsessing over your work!!! Very, very interesting insight and feedback on Victoria. 👀 I do love hearing what you guys think about the characters down to your favourite chapters. As Victoria’s creator, I see her in a very different perspective which is to be expected.

I think Victoria and Michael are both the same kind of flame in the sense that they are a match for each other and need to find common ground when they fight or are on bad terms. But if Victoria “actually left”, the fic would be over. 😅 But you’re absolutely right in the fact that Michael essentially does what he wants and he can manipulate pretty much anyone else around him emotionally too. He does after all prefer to be fully in control of everything surrounding him and in his life.

I disagree however with the mention that Victoria’s marriage to Michael is off character. I absolutely can see Michael marrying a woman from a mafiosi family, especially one educated and experienced like Victoria.

Canonically, Michael hasn’t personally insulted Victoria or called her useless. 😅 All such prompts are strictly non-canon, as I don’t see Michael even bothering to do such a thing. Yes, he can be cruel but he’s not a verbal abuse machine. As for this time around, Michael actually suffers the consequences for real… 👁️👁️ Oh yeah, I’m all up for that. And it actually fits into the next future chapters I have planned too. I unfortunately won’t be having it up for some time since it’s not coming in the next few chapters, but it’s something that will definitely be seen when the two return to Sicily. That’s a promise. 👀 Moth to Flame: Part II is a lot more deep and intense than the first part of the fic, and I’m really excited to reveal just how to you guys. 🤩

So the thing is: I come from a very catholic and close minded mexican family but my parents have always been supportive of ny studies and work, a few months ago the company I work for transferred me to Italy because they needed someone with experience/time in the job who could speak the language and I accepted happily, my parents bought an apartment here so I could live without worrying for the rent, then I met a man, this guy is a widower, his wife died a few years ago and they had a son who he has and is 8 years old now, he also has a daughter who is 3 years old but never married her mother they were a "we have known each other forever and we are horny so let's fuck without committing" kinda thing, he takes her of their daughter and she has his last name but doesn't love her mother. We started dating (without my parents knowing), after a while he took me to meet his children and they are both lovely, his son asked permission to call me mom and it warms my heart so much, his daughter calls me by my name but is lovely, I honestly hated myself and my life so much before coming here and meeting him, even tried to k*ll myself but then I met him snd everything changed, I feel good about myself, happy, loved, I like who I am when Im with him and how he makes me feel so I decided to tell my parents about us and they went absolutely mad, they told me I have to leave him or they won't speak to me again and I won't be allowed to live in the apartment anymore, his family loves the mother of his daughter (she's friends with the family since they were children) and support her and prefer her over me, constantly saying she should me the one my boyfriend wants to have a life with and not me, she insults me every time she sees me (of course they all do this when my man is not around because if he's there they pretend that they are the sweetest people in the world), his aunt (who raised him and his siblings because their parents died in a car crash when they were kids) constantly tells me we are not good together, that I'm too young for him (I'm 28 and he's 43) so I should just live him with the mom of his daughter and go back to my country, my boyfriend doesn't know anything about any of this... but since everyone is against our relationship I'm wondering if I should talk with him about it and find a solution or just do as they say and leave? My friends hate him for his age and because he has children so ... what's your opinion? Sorry this was very long 🥺

Honestly I think you should bring all this up to him especially because he doesn’t know, you sound like you really love him and his kids and are happy with him and I don’t think you should listen to those who are trying to push you away from him or tell you that you shouldn’t be with him because of their own biases

Yes there is an age gap but you’re well into being an adult, you’re nearly 30 and I think that’s appropriate and you’ve already formed connections with him and his kids and especially if his kids approve of you, that’s really important and they do! I wouldn’t get up and leave without a bit of a fight, he deserves to know how it’s affecting you and everything and hopefully you’ll both be able to come up with a solution and he can talk to his family

Something I had to do in my own relationship was sit down with my family with my partner with me and say listen we’re going to do this, whatever it may be and that’s our decision, you may not approve or like it but I’m an adult and I’m doing what I think is best for me and what I want to do and that’s that. And that’s really hard but I think you’ll be better off for it, if you love him and want to be with him and he treats you well and you’re happy with him I think you should try and hang onto it and I hope that he would defend you and be on the same page too

Ultimately your families and how they disapprove may be a dealbreaker and it may not be something you and him can get past, they may not come around to accepting you and him are together that is a possibility but I think you should try and work it out despite that, then you can’t say you didn’t try or give it your all you know. I hope things work out for the better ❤️
