I made a pillow!

It took four months of non-stop cross-stitching, but I finally finished a pattern I bought from @8pxl a little bit ago, and tonight in a bizarre burst of productivity I finally sewed a back to it and stuffed it into a cute little pillow! It ended up being pretty much perfectly sized for a neck pillow, but I'm a bit worried about it getting dirty that way.

I highly recommend the patterns from 8xpl's shop, there are SO many gorgeous ones to choose from. I might end up getting another one soon o3o

HELLO HI HELLO I AM!!! RECOVERING CURRENTLY!!!!

So I haven't posted in a small moment and planned to get myself going again soon but right now I am recovering from an accident (I won't get into the nitty gritty) that has left me quite shaken. FIRST OFF I AM OKAY! Minor injuries so nothing alarming I am physically fine besides being sore for a bit and some scrapes and bruises that are still healing, including my arms which is making drawing a bit difficult. I'm slowly getting better but cant really draw for long periods and honestly I might not draw much for a bit till I feel better both physically and mentally. its the mentally part that might take some time. But I'm resting, rest assured!

ANYWAY this is more just an update cause I know i've been a lil absent. ESPECIALLY after this accident. I'm not abandoning the blog by any means, def still check on tumblr but couldn't seem to muster the energy to interact with much at the moment as my brain is a little rattled up.

I hope yall are all okay! I hope your days are bright and yall are taking care of yourselves!

So I go back to school really soon, and to mark a new era of my life I got my ears pierced again.

So I'm gonna tell y'all about one of the worst stories I have from grade. Remember those massive parachutes you had at like fields days and shit?

These things.

Well I'm in PE and we were playing this game where the coach called out a color, and everyone would lift the parachute and he would count to like three. You run to a different triangle area while the parachute was up, then when he finished counting you pull the parachute down rapidly, causing anyone under it to get trapped. The goal was to not get trapped under the parachute.

Which in theory is pretty harmless. So we've been playing this for like ten minutes and the class is almost over, everyone's pretty tired. He calls a color, and this one girl and like six other people start running. So the girl is close enough to edge to not trapped, but the parachute snagged her earing.

Not a big deal right, I mean my earings have gotten snagged before, and just pulled out my ear no problem, just a micro tear.

Nope, the back must have been on pretty well because the earing tore straight down, she had to go to the er. It was kinda traumatizing, mostly because she didn't even notice, the coach noticed blood on her shirt.

#cw gore #sorta #god this scared me into putting off getting my ears pierced for the first time for another year #also makes me nervous around those parachutes #we uh didnt play with parachute again after that #my childhood was weird #like one time i dropped a bowl #and it shattered #and it cut my friends ankle #so instead of watching a movie #i got to spend the afternoon freaking about him #and i still have something akin to survives guilt #were not even friends anymore but i was so fucked over because of it #another time i accidently sliced open my thumb well putting away a knife #i needed stitches #but my family was kinda poor so we couldnt go to the er #so i had to wait till monday morning almost a full 24 hours #to go to urget care to get it looked at #all they could do was just put some tape on it and hope it healed properly #i dont even have a scar from it #btw if you need stitches but its been more than 6 hours after the injure #we cant stitch it #all you get is some tape to hold it together and a bandage #i also still have a bit of graphite in my foot because a pencil cut open some of my foot #and it left a chunk of graphite but no wood #so we just slapped a bandaid on it and moved on #it was a sizable chunk too #i still sort of see it #it just wouldnt come out #and i was in a lot of pain

I want your opinion on something. Do you think it's better to try and the the cards of the character you like or skipping some to brench out? Like, say you're a fan of Leona. Should you try to get all of his bday card and stuff or stick to one and get other characters ssr?

personally, as much as I would like every single card...I gotta ration my keys, so I focus on my favorites!

which isn't to say that I only pull for certain characters no matter what! more that I take a good long look at every card that comes out and go "do I really want this one? like...really really want it?" (the answer is usually yes, but -- look, the art in this game is very pretty, okay)

honestly, from a gameplay standpoint, I think it doesn't matter too much whether you focus on pulling for specific characters or not. there are very, very few points where actually having a good mix of characters is important (Those Two Stages in episode 6, where I think you can use retry tickets for the easy mode? and also guest room battles if you care about those) and you'll probably end up with at least one halfway decent card per character just from doing 10-pulls and events. so even if you're only pulling for Leona cards, you'll still end up getting a bajillion other characters as well. follow your heart! chase that grumpy lion bliss! ✨🦁✨

Frank! fantasy flavor!

i really wanted to blend that monk-class inspiration w/ Frank's personal vibe... i like to think that i Succeeded!

i turned his tie into a sort of brooch since, yk. bowties aren't all that Fantastical. they miss the style. also i think they'd be more comfortable with something smaller since he's very active and needs a wide range of maneuverability

i bet Eddie or someone wheedled them into adding the leather shoulder pauldrons - leather to keep it a bit more flexy, and also. it just looks Cool!

figuring out what would replace his vest was tough. i didn't want them to be entirely unprotected, but i couldn't give him straight armor. though i will admit! a sort of tight-fitting crop top was Considered! but i landed on a gambeson vest as the best fit - comfortable, flexible, a Vest, while providing some level of protection! also, gambesons are quilted, which fits Frank's diamond-checkered vest!

ive already mentioned that one of my favorite outfit things is Flowy Pants Tucked Into Boots, so... that choice wasn't very character driven. except the boots are a tall ankle wrap - for that extra stability and strength! their shoes are pretty flexible and are only a few steps away from being slippers.

and the half-skirt - open skirt? - thing (still don't know what its called) is purely some self indulgence. i think Frank looks great in skirts!! also imagining him Throwing Down w/ the added flair of the skirt... damn. it'd probably help confuse enemies too - what're they gonna do next? who knows! the skirt is in the way and adding extra Movement!

i like to think that his knife is either in a sheath attached to the back of the belt, or they have it on their thigh (under the skirt) like Wally's bag. he probably never uses it... punching is the way to go for Frank methinks. it's probably reserved for cutting ropes and fruit

speaking of punching.... wrist wraps! inspired by boxing gauze! pads his knuckles, keeps his wrist compressed, its the best choice for physical combat. though the wrapped knuckles probably always have blood showing through anyway... or no yeah it's mostly other people's blood...

as for scars - Frank probably has quite the collection! i imagine that they've been picking fights since a young age, and in such a dangerous world he probably got hit a Lot until they learned how to hit back. and hit back Well. still, i wanted to give him a cool face scar with a very lame backstory - a book with a crisp, sharp spine corner fell off a high shelf and bonked them in the face at juuuust the right angle <3 he probably stays very fucking quiet about it which makes everyone think there's some intense traumatic backstory behind it. there isn't. Frank's just embarrassed.
