Hey hi! I’ve been an avid follower of yours for awhile for your Pucci art but, this green child au has me hooked more and more lately! Your art is stunning by the way, thank you for posting!! The final metamorphosis panel has me excited for the next installment you share ngl.
Anyways, I was wondering if I could ask a few things about it? Specifically, what has happened after O-moon came into the picture, and the buildup to part 13 and 14? Of course if you wish to keep things vague or don’t know, there’s no need to answer! I’m just curious.
When did Jotaro get alerted to the incident and decided to finally come around? Did he encounter Pucci first or Jolyne? After the revelations that O-moon revealed to Jolyne, how did her perceptions of her father and Pucci shift? Did Jolyne ever figure out what Pucci was most likely about to do to FF while they were cornered by him? Have you thought about how Weather Report factors into this AU at all (since he’s probably in prison at this point)?
Sorry for the bombardment, and again no pressure to answer these if you don’t wish to!
- Kimera
Greetings! Thank you very much for the compliment, hope the payoff to that comic was satisfying haha
So, I wanna keep things vague with this AU, telling the main story beats through images and short comics- not only cuz I like it that way but also cuz... I haven't decided a lot of the details hahaha-
Answering this via lore dump, hope you like reading, this can be just one of many ways it could've happened:
I imagined that while Pucci and Jolyne were out getting souls, Jotaro was studying whatever is left of Dio's followers, and eventually tracks down Pucci, and travels to the US. Perhaps he finds out Pucci has been tutoring Jolyne from Jolyne's mum (who knows maybe they reconnected).
Oh and yes, Jolyne's mum knows abt Pucci, but of course not who he really is.
During this, Jolyne has awakened the Green Baby and fused with it. Jotaro may even sense that something is wrong through their family psychic bond thing.
Jotaro, realizing Pucci is a step ahead of him by already taking in his own daughter, tracks Pucci down to the church and confronts him there, sparing no time and going straight to beating answers out of him, where's Jolyne, what happened to her, what's your plan etc.
I had this thought, that once Jolyne fuses with the green baby, she inherits a bit of Dio's knowledge, and it helps her realise she's been getting used by Pucci all along. Not only that, she inherits the will to go to Heaven, and it drives her to complete the plan, she's strung along by fate now.
Now obviously she feels betrayed by Pucci, but still sympathetic to him, and rescues him from Jotaro. She's conflicted, she's angry, the only reason both Pucci and Jotaro reached out was because of some bigger-than-her plot, and not because of herself. She doesn't know how much of what Pucci gave her was genuine or because of her use to him.
(had this idea for a scene that right after Jolyne rescues Pucci, all three of them are still in church and Pucci realises she's transformed, he yells for her to stay still so he can get Whitesnake to take whatever's inside her out, but as soon as Whitesnake reaches out, a hand bursts out, he thinks it's Stone Free and suddenly JUMPSCARE O-Moon jumps out at him and the reversed-gravity throws everyone away from her-)
The only friend she has left is FF, and yes she finds out what Pucci did to them, furthering her anger. So she drags FF along with her, they are eachothers' only allies here, and although FF doesn't fully understand what's happening to Jolyne, they'll stay by her side (cue the uhhhh 'oh jolyne gave me so many memories and memories make up my intellect so i owe her yadda yadda-')
Aaaaand as for Weather, yeah mf's still in prison lmao I haven't thought too much about him. I wanted this to focus on Jolyne and Pucci, though if I did turn this AU into an entire actual story, Weather would probably come up at some point. God knows how though lmao-

I genuinely think William’s real name is actually still William, just with a different surname.
Hear me out.
#1 — irony.
Remember the omake where Bonde asks him and he’s got his ☺️ face ‘that’s a secret, heh heh heh.’
Tumblr media
Lol William is the biggest mischievous jokester going. This would be his exact reaction if people were asking like 👀 omg what is it?? And all along he’s like, lol will.i.am guys, chill. No-one cares about your first name, it’s your surname which means anything around here. You’ve all been barking up the wrong tree. Which brings me on to my second point ~
#2 — symbolism.
I cannot scream enough about how bloody genius it would be for William’s name to be, in fact, just William, but with a more common surname like ‘Smith.’ For the purposes of this discussion, let’s call him William Smith. As an orphan, he gets adopted into the family Moriarty, where there is in fact another William: Master William James Moriarty. Immediately, you have two boys of similar ages with the exact same first names, highlighting how, in fact, they should be equal if we’re looking at their basic information and identifiers. But what is it which sets them apart, and is the very message and theme running through the heart of Yuumori? Class inequality. And what dictated your social class at the time, so very unfairly? Your family lineage.
Tumblr media
The name of Moriarty is what gives Albert’s little brother his superior, privileged position in life, over William ‘Smith.’ And yet, they are both young boys, both Williams, both should have the same sort of start in life in the equal world our William wishes to create. But they do not; the moment they are given their surnames — the moment those are penned on the paper of their birth records following ‘William’, the chasm that divides these boys is immense and unfair.
#3 — interesting coincidences, hints and clues in the text.
• William loves Shakespeare — that’s part of his identity in the same way being a mathematician is. He quotes Shakespeare all the time, he grew up in a library and has all of the plays memorised. Shakespeare’s first name was also William. Additionally, Shakespeare’s birthday is believed to be April 23rd. William’s birthday is listed as April 1st — April Fool’s Day, and it has been confirmed that this is a fake birthday, so we don’t know his real one currently. (But my guess is it’s still in April).
• The Moriarty’s never call William by his name, pre-fire, but the children at his orphanage do, and they call him Will.
Tumblr media
At the Moriarty house, he is on the receiving end of more hate than Louis; they seem to despise him to the nth degree. I wonder if this might be because he shares a name with their precious William, and this irks them. They refuse to call him by his name because that doesn’t belong to him, filth from the streets, it belongs to their beloved son who can do no wrong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can see a mother like Lady Moriarty refusing to call another boy by the name she gifted her son, especially when William reminds her that there is something she had in common with his own mother — someone who she would view as completely beneath her: they chose the same name. What a disgrace, to be associated or viewed as having a similar mind to a woman of such low standing!?
Tumblr media
We also see William only ever call William Moriarty with the title ‘master’ in front, as though he also feels the need to make the distinction. This could just be because he’s trying to be polite, though. I could honestly dissect the entire first chapter panel by panel and highlight how William being William is such a simple but perfect concept which highlights this noble family’s insecurities, discrimination and narrow mindedness. William Moriarty feels the need to constantly reaffirm his own identity in the presence of our William.
Tumblr media
Because … if they share full names now, with the adoption … the lines are blurring. What makes one William Moriarty superior to the other? A worrying thought indeed for this boy. (Answer: there is no difference, they’re both equally deserving of opportunities in life.)
It all makes such perfect sense and explains away the awkwardness of the writer having to avoid use of William’s name simply because ‘it needs to stay hidden to create the mystery.’ This gives the characters themselves reason within the text to avoid using it, which makes everything so much more authentic and real. It makes sense because it does, not because it has to for the plot.
• William promised not to steal anything. Twice, we see him reassuring and then reaffirming that he wouldn’t steal anything, and both times are in the presence of William Moriarty.
Tumblr media
If we want to take this statement in light of names, and toy with that lovely device foreshadowing, William having always shared the same first name would in fact mean that statement holds true — he did not steal William’s name; it was always his own to begin with, and Moriarty was a name given to him as part of his adoption, the same as it was given to Louis. He really didn’t steal anything, despite the fact that he was probably made to feel guilty or worthless every day because of the name he shared with William Moriarty.
This also means that William probably never actively deceived any of the townspeople, either; it really was just a case of mistaken identity which he manipulated for his own cause.
Tumblr media
The townspeople made the mistake, rather than William outright lying. William is, by trade, more of a master manipulator who turns situations to his advantage with his quick thinking, rather than straight up lying or deceiving people (see: The Merchant of London.)
• Sherlock saw his birth name but never mentions it. And still chooses to call him Liam. Yes, we might’ve had a conversation happen off screen. Yes, Sherlock might choose to do that because that name is sentimental and William has asked not to be called his true name for reasons unknown. But it would fit so beautifully if William really is his name, and Sherlock’s realisation that day when he read the birth records was that oh, so this — William ‘Smith’ — is Liam’s real name. Naturally, he would continue to call him Liam with no discussion needed, because it’s a shortened version of William.
• We have lots of characters who share the name William, but with different variations on the shortened version; another symbol of how people can be equal in some senses but also their identity can be individual to them also. William H Bonney is Billy the Kid, the mathematics genius William and Sherlock stumble upon in Durham is called Bill Hunt.
#4 — practicality and marketing.
People become attached to characters and their names, and there comes a certain point in a work where it’s very difficult to alter a character’s first name and still retain a fan base’s sense of identity for that character. Calling William say, Robert, from now on, or revealing that as his true name while we continue to see him referred to as William is all sorts of confusing, emotionally. Perhaps it’s just me. But the idea that I’ve been calling William the wrong name all along feels off and sad, whereas the knowledge that he’s at least been able to keep that part of himself consistent, when everything else has had to be an act, is actually really comforting and empowering.
I’d love to write another thought dump on why William being William all along is also, so very emotionally delicious when you explore the implications in the story; it’s heartbreaking and makes him an even more sympathetic character who I just wanna hug, so perhaps I’ll come back to this! Because re-reading those earlier chapters with this in mind really hurts so good.
Tumblr media
He stole nothing; he was always the true William, that at least is one thing that always belonged to him — it was only society and us that dictated there was one William worth knowing more — was more interesting and held more narrative power — than the other.
This is still William’s story.

As autistic coded as Illumi is, he is also EXTREMELY Bpd coded. Here's a thread abt why that would be, from a person with bpd. 🧵
Tumblr media
Everything about his character screams a person that feels so so much but forcefully tones his feelings down so hard to the point where they seem nonexistent.
On the exterior he seems like he couldn't care less about most things and is a very calm and controlled person. However, his emotions shine the brightest when the topic of interest is a person he cares about.
This is ESPECIALLY shown in the election arc where he reveals much of his emotions to the audience. He gets two whole bloodlust scenes this arc.
Tumblr media
One with extreme anger
Tumblr media
and one with extreme joy.
When Hisoka provoked him, it took absolutely zero transition for him to immediately spike his bloodlust and aura to GREAT amounts to the point of engulfing the entire MOUNTAIN and reaching Killua from SO far away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And in the same exact second it happened, it ended just as quickly the moment he noticed Killua running away. That is a CLASSIC negative mood swing example if I've ever seen one. One extreme emotion in one second, gone in the other.
On the other hand, his second bloodlust had a small transition, one that still did not give you the expectation of what truly came after.
He is seen watching Killua on his phone and the moment Nanika healed gon, showing Killua can use her on command with no consequences and also showing her immense power, he was absolutely overjoyed. So much in fact that he exploded in maniac laughter and aura a second after merely giving it a small laugh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We get a hint at his bloodlust incoming in that moment, but NEVER predict just how MUCH would actually come out. Classic euphoric mood swing number two.
When he encountera Killua with Hisoka in the background at the end, he is pretty much shown going through the five stages of grief in mere minutes the moment his own butlers turn on him and allow Nanika to come out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
denial, anger, depression...
Tumblr media
bargaining.......
Tumblr media
and finally, acceptance. acceptance that he was going to be traded by killua not only for a friend, but for the rest of the family's lives.
He was so very clearly unhappy about it at the beginning, yet came to acceptance in mere seconds the moment nanika came out. He bargained with himself, Killua shouldnt be able to wish twice, then accepted. even if he could, thats okay. go ahead, kill me!
and then theres also the way he just switches from a very :DDD to >:| mood in like one panel short hello he is so coded
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even more; Usually bpd is either caused through trauma or inherited. and you can definitely argue that illumi went through enough "training" for the former but. is his behavior not. familiar to yall. not at all???? im just saying......... I know someone else in the zoldyck family that has intense mood swings!
Tumblr media
if there is one person in the family that shows their unfiltered emotions and switches from being calm to screaming in distress in a single second, its going to be this woman. she gave birth to a son thats a literal copy of her. she ctrl c'd and ctrl v'd.
and i dont exactly know what this next one has to do with the thread but why was bro normal for one second then turned into this i mean im not complaining hes still hot and ill claim him as my bpd son regardless
Tumblr media
anyways yes this was the thread have fun with this interpretation slash analysis however u like 👍

This might sound silly and i know bruce is bisexual and all but from a queer standpoint, the scene where he proposes to selina feels a lot like compulsory heterosexuality. "I love you. I HAVE to love you."
And considering the timeline, joker was HIDDEN INSIDE BRUCE'S BASEMENT my god the implications, the metaphor....
Yeah, the whole thing is... [clears throat] very interesting. These two panels, which happen relatively close in time, put it into perspective:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Batman (2016) #32 // Dark Days: The Casting
However, to be entirely honest, I don't think Bruce proposing to Selina, and that whole arc... can be boiled down to just compulsory heterosexuality. It's more complicated than that. Bruce is doing this after interacting with the Batman of Flashpoint, his own father, who begs him to try and be happy. And Bruce's idea of happiness, very much inspired by Thomas', is settling down with a woman and having a family. Gaining peace.
Tom King is the one who wrote the wedding arc, and the whole thing is permeated by this... typically masculine, American idealization of women as this isle of peace that a tortured man yearns for, but can never fully choose. I'm sure there's names for this trope or stereotype, but I'm too lazy to look this up. Think Michael Mann movies, think James Bond movies, think stories about criminals and agents and soldiers leading a dark violent life aspiring to put down arms, and the whole dream being entangled with a woman. A female character who usually isn't fleshed out beyond the representation of leaving a life of violence behind, having a nice wife and nice children in a nice house with a nice white picket fence. Tbh it's not surprising to me that King ended up writing Bruce and Selina with these undertones, because of King's infamous background with the CIA before he became a comic book writer.
And thing is, I don't think it's inaccurate to portray Bruce this way. Bruce has lead a long life of violence, and he wants to want to stop. He wishes it didn't define him as much as it does, he wishes there was another path for him-- and this wish drives his attempt to settle down with Selina. "I have to love you" is less about "you're a woman and I should marry a woman", it's more about "if I love you I am more of a human being, and I need that." Yes, it's compulsory heterosexuality too, in the sense that Bruce is drawing from the heteronormative idea that happiness can only be achieved through normality, and normality = wife and retirement. But it's also a sad, desperate attempt at salvaging himself through Selina, whom he does love... but the things he loves about her are less about her, and more about himself. In the end, his own subconscious acknowledges all of it, during the Knightmares arc:
Tumblr media
Batman (2016) #69
[sigh] It's all quite sad. And I've said it in a different post, but this is partly why -- in a seemingly paradoxical way -- a relationship with Joker has the potential to work. "You can't love anyone but the Vow, but the Bat," Selina (a figment of his own mind) tells Bruce. And Joker is part of the Vow. In many ways, over the decades, Joker has become the endgame of the Vow, the incarnation of all the things the Bat is supposed to defeat. It's fucked up and makes me want to chew on glass, but the Bat could allow loving Joker, because loving Joker would be a part of the Mission.
Anyway, I went on a bit of an unncessary tangent, but yeah! I do agree, Anon. So many implications.

Ch 420 leaks -some reactions
As someone who loved the 3 baka storyline in Vigilante and had Aizawa as a big favourite, I feel pretty sad with how Hori checked this whole thing off in 5 pages.
I was hoping more would come into play from Oboro's / Kurogiri's perspective - the interplay between his memories of being friends with Aizawa and Mic and Kurogiri's genuine care for Tomura could have been more compelling than this...
The messy flashback - other flashback - offscreened fight - present reminds me of Mirio's comeback in the PLF War and those 3 horrible chapters where good potential storylines were all cut short in a haste to wrap everything up.
How is Death Arms back in the main fortress? Last time he was at the stuck evacuation pod at Gunga...
The entire Gashly fight being offscreened - lol. Ryukyu is officially the worst treated pro of the whole story. Didn't even get a panel.
Lol at Deku's arms - and everyone who thought it might last rather than being another fake-out to sell edgy merch.
Eri being a mutilated magic rhino is pretty sickening though, and one more quirk that just does whatever now. (Why did Overhaul bother with her blood and quirk factor, when he could have just cut off her horn and use it as emergency syringe?)
The entire power system of the story has fallen apart with quirks just doing whatever.
At least we are safe from the "Eri rewinds the villains to their little kid selves" ending... To mention an upside I guess...
Otherwise, yes, it's an everyone shows up ending - other than the kids already shown, we see also Gang Orca and Burnin' coming through the portal (pretty sure Dabi didn't kill the Endeavor sidekicks).
Momo and Kaminari being there - I hope Hori will give them more than a panel each, but I'm not holding my breath too much.
Mineta being there means Gunga is in play, so I expect Iida, Kirishima, Jirou, Tsuyu, etc. to join as well.
I think the interesting part will be the arrival of the power-up brigade -> Aoyama, Mina, (Uraraka?), Bakugou probably as the cherry on top just in time to hold Deku's regrown hands.
I also think Shoto will come eventually either with his family or alone as Endeavor chooses to stay behind with Toya. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him getting a quirk awakening from absorbing Toya's Phosphor. But mostly once things get bad - so he can be reassuring hero. Hopefully that moment won't be rushed like the Aizawa one.
I'm really hoping that Toya, Toga and Spinner will also come to help Tomura/Tenko to see that the heroes are in the saving business and his allies have survived. I think seeing them fight side by side with the heroes would be a satisfying pay-off for Shoto's and Ochako's efforts rather than being side-quests.
So my two big wishes: Todoroki family combo and Origin Trio combo are back on the cards.
But this chapter, ngl was pretty bad / messy.

Just This Once - Theseus Scamander x Reader
A/N: Hey, guys! It's me, Vannah! This is my first time posting a fic onto Tumblr. In the past, I've used Wattpad, but I figured I'd try something new. I'm open to requests, so feel free to leave a suggestion down below!
Warnings: Very (very) mild violence
Word Count: 1,947
Tumblr media
______________________________________________________________
"Mr. Scamander, you have a visitor." Ertha said, snapping Theseus out of his trance.
He had been watching you through the tall glass panels in his office for the past fifteen minutes. You were deep in thought, your index finger underlining the files you were reading.
You bit your bottom lip, brows furrowing as you got further into the document before setting it aside and opening up another. Mere moments later, you had your head thrown back in laughter as two Ministry interns told you about their most recent escapade trying to make copies of the very file she was reading.
Shifting his gaze from you to Ertha, he smiled up at her, "Go ahead and send them in."
As his secretary shuffled away, calling out for the visitor, he turned back to where you had been working. You were gone, your green lamp turned off and the papers that were once scattered on your desk now arranged in neat piles.
He sighed, rising out of his seat as his guest entered, shaking their hand, introducing himself, "Theseus Scamander, Department of Magical Law Enforcement."
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Theseus made his way to the staff room, aching for a cup of tea. It had been a long 24 hours, and he needed to calm himself down.
He only wanted to help his brother, not drive him farther away. Had Newt not been expelled from Hogwarts, he could have been living a very different life. But Newt did as he knew how- got himself into trouble he didn't intend to be in.
As Theseus poured himself a cup of tea out of a heated kettle, the door opened behind him.
You walked in, a bit of a pep in your step, grabbing an empty tea cup for yourself and waiting for him to finish pouring.
"Good morning, Mr. Scamander." You said, smiling up at him.
Flustered, he smiled back akwardly, stuttering as he greeted you, "Good morning, Ms. Y/L/N."
"How are you? You were still working by the time I left last night." You tilt your head to the side, brushing your h/c hair out of your face.
"Oh, you know, I'm doing alright. Family matters, I suppose. And you?"
You nodded, "I'm doing well, Mr. Scamander. Just frustrated with my latest case."
"No one ever said this job was easy, did they? Should've come with a warning, it should." He attempted to joke, but you didn't laugh. Your smile faded.
Did I say something wrong? For the love of Helga Hufflepuff, I can't do anything right. Should I appolgize? He pondered, staring into her e/c eyes.
"Mr. Scamander, are you sure you're alright?" You asked, concern growing on your face.
Theseus broke out into a sweat, his tie suddenly too tight around his neck, "Y-yes, everything's f-fine."
"Are you sure?" You asked, placing your free hand atop his, and wrapping it around the upper half of the teapot handle, tilting it, "Because you just spilled tea everywhere."
His eyes widened, embarassment striking him as he looked down to see that he had emptied the entire contents of the teapot onto the floor. The once spotless marbled floor was now soiled with a puddle of tea. So were his new loafers, the ones his mum had bought him for his birthday.
He had initially focused on the feel of your hand on his, but now he wished he could take it all back. Not act like a complete fool. But it was too late for that.
You set your teacup down on the counter beside you, taking your wand out of your skirt pocket, gently wrapping your hand around it, "Let me help you, Mr. Scamander."
You waved your wand slowly in a spiral motion, "Tergeo."
The brown puddle lifted from the floor in a singular line, spiraling into a nearby sink before it was gone.
The soiled marble was once again spotless, "Works like a charm, Mr. Scamander."
"Theseus." He said, so fast that if you hadn't been paying attention, you would have missed it.
"Mr. Scamander…" You trailed off with a sigh.
He shook his head, insistant, "Please, call me Theseus. All formality quite literally went down the drain when I spilled. I insist."
You crossed your arms, "I'm not sure Thetchar would approve of us being on a first-name basis."
"What Thetchar doesn't know won't hurt him."
An amused smile appeared on your face, "A Hufflepuff? Keeping secrets? Who would've known?"
"I have my moments." He grinned, his eyes moving from your face to his half-empty cup of tea.
Yours hadn't even been filled.
"What do you say I make this up to you? There's a teashop right down the street. It'll be my treat."
"I really should be working." You explained, gazing around the room, "But I think I can make an exception. Just this once."
Theseus nodded, "Just this once."
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"Is there something you wanted to tell me, Mr. Scamander?" You asked, perched atop of his desk as he scribbled down a letter to his brother, your legs swinging back and forth as you waited for a response.
He shook his head, tensing as you referred to him by his last name, focusing on the task at hand, "No, darling, everything's alright."
"It doesn't seem alright." You frowned, pursing your lips before turning to him, "Theseus…"
He swallowed the bile rising in his throat, not meeting your eyes.
"Theseus." You repeated, placing a hand atop his to stop him from tapping his quill on the mahogany desk.
He met your eyes, his eyes glossy.
"Theseus, you know you can tell me anything, right?" You asked, "I'm here for you every step of the way."
He nodded, his brown curls falling loosely on his head, "I know."
"Can you please tell me what's the matter? I'm only trying to help."
"I'm afraid you can't help much with this, Y/N." Theseus sighed, leaning back into his chair, sliding his letter in your direction.
You scanned it carefully, which wasn't difficult due to his neat script. You read aloud, "'Dearest Theseus, I regret to inform you that your brother has been expelled from Hogwarts for endangering the safety of fellow students. There's something he's not telling the headmaster and myself, but my hands are tied. Darling, is there anything you could do? He's already taken his O.W.L.S., but it would mean the world to me if he could finish out his seventh year. Love, Mum'."
Your eyes widened as your gaze met his, "Oh, Theseus, I'm so sorry."
Sliding off the desk, you came to stand behind him, pressing a kiss to his temple and gently massaging his shoulders, "I know that you've always struggled with your feelings towards your brother, but please don't let this hold you back from reaching out to him. I'm sure there's something he's not telling us."
"That's the thing!" Theseus exclaimed, "He always leaves out the important details. Always gets himself into trouble. I wouldn't be surprised if he chose to get expelled. He never exactly thrived in school, not unless you count his performance in his classes, like-"
"Care of magical creatures, I know." You gave him a reassuring smile, "If he's already taken his O.W.L.S., then he should be perfectly fine. He's what, seventeen now?
"And all on his own." He groaned, "He's free from Hogwarts, he can go wherever he likes now. Which means chasing after dangerous creatures. I'm thrilled."
You laughed, "And here I thought you, too, chased after beasts?"
"Oh, I did. I adore them. But I never went to the extent Newt did. We once had a few Kneazles and Crups growing up. Nothing too exotic. Nothing like what Newt's going after."
You spun his chair around to face you, your hand still lingering on his shoulders, "Look at me, Theseus."
He met your eyes, not lifting his head. He looked like a kicked crup.
"You have to promise me that you'll reach out to him, alright? Not just your mother, or the school, but Newt. You may be eight years his senior, but you're still his brother. He needs you, Theseus. More than you know."
Theseus grumbled, "I always told him not to go chasing after Hippogriffs and Runespoors, but he never listened to me."
"Theseus." You warned, "You're a good man. You're kind, patient, loyal. Everything that makes you a Hufflepuff. I know, at the end of the day, that you'll do the right thing by Newt."
You leaned in to kiss him on the cheek, but he swivled to catch your lips. It was brief, but you couldn't help melting into his embrace.
Finally, you pulled away, starting towards the door.
"Remember our promise, love." You said over your shoulder.
Just like that, you were gone.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"Flipendo!" Theseus exclaimed, aiming his wand at a figure cloaked in black.
But the cloaked figure deflected the spell, aiming his wand at the auror's, "Flagrante!"
Theseus' wand began to burn his hand, getting hotter by the second. He screamed in agony as it dropped to the ground, his hand now raw and red, a large burn mark slashing across his hand.
The moment his wand reached the floor, the cloaked figure raised his wand, "It's the end of the line for you, Mr. Scamander."
Theseus began to back away, not daring to reach for his wand in fear that, in his weakest moment, the cloaked figure would attack, "You need to come with me, to speak to the ministry. If you come now, you will be tried by the minister. If you kill me, you'll be sent to Azkaban."
The figure mearly scoffed, "That's no way to die."
"Expuls-" He began, but was cut off by the sound of a woman behind him, shouting, "Pretrificus Totalis!"
His body froze, his arms and legs immobilized by the spell that bound him.
Theseus looked behind the figure, his eyes meeting yours and at least a half dozen aurors by your side in a prepared formation.
He grabbed his wand, holding it tightly in his hand and you heaved the figure up from the ground, "You're under arrest for the murder of a Hungarian Horntail, an endangered species legally protected by the department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Surrender your wands and prepare to be taken in for questioning and trial."
Two of the aurors that had been standing beside you grabbed the figure by the arms, turning to you "We'll take 'em in for questioning and meet you back at the ministry. I've got a feeling this is going to be a long night."
As soon as they disapparated, Theseus made a beeline for you.
You expected him to warn you of the dangers that went along with going headfirst into a fight, but he didn't.
"I thought this was a job for my department."
"It is, or at least, it was. But thankfully for you, my department is able to intervene as soon as the welfare of a magical creature is involved."
Theseus nodded, "You saved my life, Y/N."
You smiled, "And I'd do it again. I love you, Theseus."
Pressing a kiss to her temple, he rest his forehead against hers, "I love you, too, darling."
He paused, allowing his words to sink in, "So what do you say we go for a cup of tea? Just this once?"
"I really should get back to work, you know. But I'll make an exception, just this once."
You took his hand in yours, making your way down the cobblestone streets. A smile spread on your faces. It was more than just this once, it was forever.

Trafalgar Law Character Study, Part 16/? (Dressrosa, Part 6)
So. It’s been…just over eight years. But I’ve had some requests to continue the analysis posts I’d been doing way back when and since I’m finally caught up with the manga again it seemed like as good a time as any to start doing that!
[Part One] // [Part Two] // [Part Three] // [Part Four] // [Part Five] // [Part Six] // [Part Seven] // [Part Eight] // [Part Nine] // [Part Ten] // [Part Eleven] // [Part Twelve] // [Part Thirteen] // [Part Fourteen] // [Part Fifteen]
The first thing I want to say is that I haven’t gone back and read all of the previous posts in this series so just a general warning that there might be questions/speculation within those that we actually have concrete answers to almost ten years later so if something doesn’t quite match up with canon that’s probably why! Most of the actual character-related things about Law should still be accurate, though…
Oh boy I picked a good group of chapters to come back to, huh? Let me just say that reading these in real time was…an experience…a very stressful experience…so back then the last thing I was worried about was character analysis but looking at it years later there’s actually a lot of important things that happen!
Tumblr media
The first of which is that obviously we know by now that this isn’t what Cora wanted at all, but Law’s spent so many years convincing himself that it is that this…specter of Doflamingo that’s been haunting him is almost more powerful than the real thing and that’s caused him to combine Cora’s wish for him to be free with Doflamingo being defeated to the point that he can’t separate the two any longer.
Tumblr media
This whole section is to set up Law’s reveal that he also carries the Will of D but it’s still kind of amusing to have him asking these seemingly random questions about Luffy during the middle of a literal life-and-death battle. There’s also this running theme with Law where despite the fact that this is something both he and Luffy share, he always seems to place more importance on Luffy than himself. Obviously we know that he has no idea what the Will of D actually is so I think this is more just based on his own personality, but it’s interesting nonetheless.
Tumblr media
Somehow I still see people discussing whether Law’s any good with Armament Haki when he’s using it right here and certainly not at full strength but it’s very interesting that Doflamingo becomes one of the few characters in the entire series to know this about Law. Law’s never really flaunted the D initial like a lot of others that have it but that seems to mostly be due to his family wanting to keep it a secret and not based on his own feelings, though this scene in particular I think is meant to mirror the reveal of Doflamingo being a Celestial Dragon because that was something Law could never have accounted for but now he’s got an equally pertinent piece of information to catch Doflamingo off-guard.
Tumblr media
And while it doesn’t exactly work as intended, Law was trying to distract him enough to get Doflamingo to make a mistake and that’s exactly what happened so if nothing else he gets a good hit in. Still, for all of Doflamingo’s denial that the whole ‘fated enemies’ idea isn’t true, he’s getting very defensive about it so it makes you wonder…
Tumblr media
So Law’s not…wrong about this, since Cora overhearing his full name was what seemingly first got him interested in this whole quest to save Law so in that way it could certainly be looked at as a catalyst of sorts. And it’s also true that Cora probably wouldn’t have been able to kill Doflamingo despite going so far as to point a gun at him, but I do genuinely believe that—in a different series where the narrative would allow such a thing—Law would have killed Doflamingo here.
Tumblr media
I really like this group of panels because Doflamingo is seeing Law as he was the first time they met: as someone so angry and disenchanted with the entire world and so resigned to their fate that the only thing that registers is this compulsive need to cause destruction. At the time Doflamingo had said he saw himself in Law because of that, but now that it’s being directed solely at him I’m sure the impact of that is quite different. It’s also a bit of a sign for us as readers to connect the two since Law’s grown and changed a lot from that time and he attributes it mostly to being ‘saved’ because of Cora but this shows that side of him that was created out of losing everything and everyone he loved all at once is still something he can bring out under the right circumstances.
Tumblr media
Doflamingo actually says a lot of things in this part that are kind of an insight into what Law’s thinking, and this is one of them. Law’s usually a lot more calculated and careful with his plans, but because of Bellamy deciding to distract Luffy he’s completely alone and has pretty much no tricks left so the only thing he can do is throw whatever he’s got at Doflamingo and hope something works.
Tumblr media
This, however, isn’t exactly accurate. I do believe that if all of Law’s initial plans had come to fruition that he would have been content with Kaido taking care of Doflamingo in his place (since, in the end, he’s at least accepting of the fact that Luffy’s the one to do it) but for a variety of reasons that…didn’t happen, and with him being by himself in this position and being so close I think he does let his emotions get the better of him in the end.
Tumblr media
Law’s still so calm and rational here and I think it’s because he’s resigned to whatever’s going to happen, but this is an interesting comment because Doflamingo loves trying to make people feel guilty for things that weren’t their fault and he’s attempting to blame everything that happened in Dressrosa completely on Law giving that letter to Vergo instead of any other Marine. But this is the first time that Doflamingo acknowledges that what he did to the Riku family and the country as a whole was a ‘tragedy’ and you can tell from his reaction that he didn’t even realize he’d done so until Law pointed it out.
Tumblr media
Looking back at this now it holds a bit of a different connotation but in this moment Law was fully prepared to die and content with that in terms of him feeling as though he’d achieved Cora’s goal (even though he really hadn’t). However, it also still holds true in the present because while his own goals have changed drastically, everything is still being done with Cora in mind…though now it feels far more like a tribute as opposed to the pure revenge it became up until the end of Dressrosa.
Tumblr media
Doflamingo’s fully capable of using his ability to kill but he prefers a gun instead and once again we get the mention of lead bullets so between those (twice in this arc now) and amber lead Law’s having a bad time with that particular element. I won’t get too much into how Doflamingo considers the executions he’s done as mercy killings and the only way for people to ‘atone’ for the sin of having the audacity to stand up to him, but I’m still amazed that Law was already almost running on empty and got his arm chopped off and he’s somehow conscious and coherent at this moment.
Tumblr media
I have no idea how Law managed to get a tourniquet for his arm with everything going on but in this instance Doflamingo’s completely right: Law hasn’t been living for himself for a long time and everything he’s done has been with this singular goal in mind to the point where he really can’t pull himself away from it.
Tumblr media
Considering the repetition that Law has some higher power looking out for him that happened throughout his flashback, I’m inclined to think this is actually foreshadowing that Law’s going to get out of this somehow even though reading it week by week it…didn’t exactly seem like it at the time… Doflamingo’s got some real guts still trying to get Law to make him immortal after everything, though.
Tumblr media
Look, Law flips him off in the very next panel, but this is as blatant a ‘go fuck yourself’ as he could have ever given. Earlier in the arc he claimed to not care about the people of Dressrosa but now that Doflamingo’s been trying to guilt him into feeling responsible for their plight he’s using that as part of his way of firing back at Doflamingo for things that were done entirely by his own hand. At the very least, it’s good to know Law isn’t blaming himself for any of it.
Tumblr media
Besides the callback to him doing this when we first met him, what’s really important here is that even facing certain death (and at this point I’m inclined to believe he did think it was certain, but I’ll get into that more in the future…) he’s trusting not only in Luffy but in all of the Strawhats to see the plan through and succeed. That’s a lot of faith to have in people he hasn’t known for very long and speaks to how he truly views them and what he thinks they’re capable of.
Tumblr media
Doflamingo gets careless when he’s angry and I think this was Law’s final Hail Mary in the sense that if anything was going to save him it was Doflamingo’s rage making his aim unsteady. It’s also somewhat ironic that Doflamingo is listing all of these things that were born from Cora’s love for Law and Law’s desire to acknowledge and remember that as if they’re something he has ownership over and is solely responsible for when that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Tumblr media
This has nothing to do with Law himself but let me tell you that this image of Luffy only noticing the state Law’s in because there’s so much blood on the roof that he literally slips on it has stuck with me since the chapter came out and it’s so visceral and such a visual indication of how intense Doflamingo’s rage was in that moment.
Tumblr media
‘He really seemed to trust you’ just hits me in the gut because once again Doflamingo’s up to his old ‘make someone else feel guilty’ tricks (and for Luffy it would hit especially hard given what happened with Ace and how he feels about not being able to save the people he cares about) but also it’s just…true. Law trusts Luffy so much and even at this point some of the fandom was convinced he was going to betray the Strawhats when that shouldn’t have even been a consideration any longer.
Tumblr media
And again we get the idea of the Strawhats being able to work ‘miracles’, though in this case it’s simply Doflamingo mocking Law’s words and not putting any belief in it himself, but this was…probably one of the worst chapters to have to wait a week for the continuation. The one bit of hope we get is Law’s single speech bubble at the end telling Luffy to listen to him but that was…very little to go off of…
Well, that seems like a great and happy place to end this part! I hope you enjoyed (?) and please do feel free to like and reblog; especially after so long I’m not sure how many people are still around who want to read something like this so it helps inspire me to keep going!

This was my first op of the con and I was determined to get my hug pose. It was also my birthday, which I told Jensen when I walked up to him. He had that huge smile on his face, exactly the one you see on the pic, when his entire face lit up before he said “OHMYGODHAPPYBIRTHDAY” in like one go. It ended up being my least favorite op of the weekend, but it does say a lot about the quality when I don’t even hate myself on this, I just wish my face was different (which is a whole other issue 😂). I also walked off with a huge heart and so much love for this dude being the kindest guy I’ve ever met (and honestly? At this point, I have met A LOT). Anyway peep the Destiel flannel and the Angel Cas tee by @sailorsally 🫶🏻
Tumblr media
For this OP we were told they weren’t doing poses unless it was really quick, so I shoot my shot: I walked up to them and asked “could you guys adopt me for like, half a second here and pretend that I’m your kid?” Danneel absolutely bursted out laughing and Jensen had that huge smile on his face before telling me “of COURSE we will” before we went in quick for a pose. I love this one, I’m gonna frame it and pretend they’re my host family from far away or something.
Tumblr media
This was my first pic on Sunday. I wanted something a little different and I really liked my outfit. Based on my autos I had with Danneel the day before and the panel she had with J, I knew she was a very attentive and kind-hearted person, so I just walked up to her and asked if we could just hold hands. She recognized me from the day before and immediately went “of course let’s do that!” Now, most celebs, once the photog is done, go into next next next mode; not Danneel. She waited for me to turn and say goodbye before releasing my hand from hers, and not before squeezing it so tight it felt like a hug 🥹 Anyway I love her, she’s a goddess, please bring her to more cons so she can feel even more love.
Tumblr media
Idk what to say about this one, apart from the (very visible imo) fact that Jensen was absolutely delighted when I said “you go in the middle this time, we’re gonna bear hug you”. Ruthie’s so vibrant and I’m just happy to be around. A witch, a hunter and little old chaoticdean. ❤️
Tumblr media
What to say except that this is my favorite con pic ever? I asked if I could perch on his shoulder and he could act like my bodyguard. I had no idea what face he was making until I picked up the photo from the desk two hours afterwards. That’s Dean. That’s Dean being my bodyguard. So from here on out, every hate I ever get? You’ll have to go through him first. And something tells me he’s not gonna let it slide. ❤️
Please don’t repost without proper credit. All photos taken at Crossroads 6, Brighton Hilton Metropole (UK) on March 11th and 12nd 2023.

I finished reading noragami, so some thoughts and ramblings, mostly abt stuff near the ending!
The manga was waaay better than I remember it being! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and may have actually binged the whole thing in like, four days oops. Yato is such a great character, Yukine is precious, and I feel like I'm liking Hiyori way more than I used to. Girl is basically a step away from becoming an ayakashi or straight up dead the entire series, but she's not letting that stop her AT ALL, while also keeping up with school well enough to become a doctor. I wish I could have attitude like that with my migraines asjdkflfk
I am surprised they were able to revive Hiyori. I had seen spoilers that Yato would make her his shinki, but I had managed to dodge the spoilers that she would just... go back to normal afterwards? A part of me kinda wishes she had remained a shinki, but that being said, I also cried my eyes out seeing the panels of everyone realizing they wouldn't be able to call her Hiyori anymore.
Tumblr media
It's so painful T_T
Tho it's probably for the best that she was revived, because there's nooo way at least Yato or Kofuku wouldn't have called her Hiyori within 24 hours. I feel like she may have been able to survive learning her real name similar to Kazuma, since she was super loved both by her family and by the gods and shinki who knew her.
I feel like they could've explained why Yato survived a bit more nicely than just "oh he and his demon pals went viral on social media". I feel like they could've at least explained him surviving with him bringing Hiyori to the hospital and people seeing him save her or something. Or have Amaterasu do something instead of her just basically chilling in the background the whole time. In general I guess the ending felt a bit lackluster in terms of Yato's development, since he didn't seem to gain much status as a god at all despite everything he did, but eh. It was a nice ending in the grand scheme of things. And definitely emotional T_T
Kazuma and Yato fighting together was soooo cool! I'm glad Kazuma survived, tho a part of me would've also kinda loved if he didn't lol. It would've been so tragic, but I guess Bisha wouldn't have made it then either. I did cry a bunch when it was kinda implied that Kazuma was dying.
I ALSO cried when they revealed that Yato and ayakashi!Yukine first fought at the exact place where Yato had buried Yukine's real body asdkfjghfdgkld. It was so painful. I love how they did it, because it was so clear during the fight that the place was somehow significant, but at least I would've never guessed WHY it actually was so important to Yato. AND then that followed up with the fact that spirit!Yukine was hanging out near the mail box at the start of the series because he wanted to send that last letter to his sister?????
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My poor heart asdkgjhdlkfgjd. The way Yukine's/Haruki's backstory was portrayed through the last parts of the manga was so great and SO painful.
I'mma end this with a couple random panels that really struck me with so much emotion while I was reading through the manga.

Trying to picture Sophia’s talk with her parents about her new girlfriend. I’m imagining it went something like this:
Mom, dad- do you remember me telling you about that soccer couple? I’ve met them a few times and have been following their journey as a family- I’ve even commented on all their milestone posts? Well, anyways, the less attractive one and I found ourselves really connecting at some panels we did this summer. We hung out, we flirted, we were super touchy feely- took a bunch of pictures and videos- it’s all over the internet. Well it turns out, she’s a self involved narcissist just like me! So we totally bonded! And we *kind of * hooked up. I mean, we can’t admit it, but we decided we should both leave our spouses and be together, because it’s true love!! What? Well, yes, she does have a barely one year and a barely two year old. I know, that IS a young family. But her wife is super controlling and won’t put out, so…what’s Ashlyn supposed to do? Like try to work on her marriage after her wife retires? That’s way to mature for her. Her wife made this IG posts making it seem like we cheated, and now Ashlyn is getting massively cyber bullied! It’s awful! It’s so bad, I had to help her write this notes app statement to get fans off her back. Turns out, it didn’t work, but now we get to play the victim and make seem like it’s us against the world! It’s brought us even closer!! How’s her ex wife doing? Well, it’s really annoying because she is completely killing it and super busy, has all these new jobs and events to go to. I can’t understand the fuss, tbh. I mean, it’s not like was the star of this cheesy CW teen drama for years. She’s just calmly moving on with her life. It’s hard, bc it makes Ashlyn feel bad about her selfWhat’s Ashlyn’s job? Ugh…was hoping you wouldn’t ask about that. Well, because everyone is against her (like the entire woso community took her ex’s side) she can’t get any regular work. I mean, I hooked her up with this foundation, so she’s got something to do. But she’s kinda down and out right now. I’ve been paying for her flights all over, and we took a trip. But, what’s the point of being THE Brooke Davis if I can’t spend my hard earned royalties on my greasy, mulleted, tatted, low life, grifter girlfriend? WHAT? You don’t see this working out? Well, we are going to prove everyone wrong! You keep reading all my passive aggressive IG quotes and posts, and you’ll understand. Okay, wish I could talk more, but we’re going to get hers and hers matching nipple piercings- talk soon!! ❤️
How’d I do? 😈
This is amazing and made me laugh so much! Thank you anon for making my day😂🔥🫡

HI HELLO, I FELT BAD CONTINUING THE CONVO IN THE POST BUT OOOOOHHOO YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE FEELING UNWELL ABOUT TSUNA HOPE. I AM INSANE ABOUT HIM.
FIRST OF ALL, I checked the link you sent and oh my god SAME "The Truth Revealed" is an INSANE CHAPTER TO ME. Tbh Future arc is one of my favorite arcs in KHR all together. I don't think I ever recovered from Tsuna waking up in a fucking coffin. Like I think that irreversibly altered my brain chemistry I havent been the same. My brains been spinning since i saw that. To find out that TYL Tsuna planned it in the Truth Revealed??? Like WHO is TYL TSUNA. WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM. Like you pointed out that Lal yelled out at Tsuna wasnt like that, but to find out he was?? oh my GOD. Like it makes me wonder how much stress TYL Tsuna was under or how he came to the point that he felt like this was the only solution they could pull off. I think there's an addition that Irie did say that Byakuran would've found a way to bring the younger gang to the future anyway must have absolutely added to TYL Tsuna's stress and desire to get his younger self ready before Byakuran decided it was time before he was. Like I need to know IS HE HAPPY LIKE YOU SAID. I HOPE THIS MAN FINDS PEACE GOD KNOWS HE DESERVES IT. This is more of a headcanon than any solidified proof, just a GUT feeling. But I have to feel as if TYL Tsuna's actions being so... like that had to do with TYL Reborn's death. We know that they're close and Rainbow arc shows us that Tsuna would lift the entire world on his back if it saved Reborn. I can't help but theorize the mental state TYL Tsuna was in, after losing Reborn. Seeing how..hotheaded Tsuna can get about Reborn in Rainbow Arc and how he willingly goes to the Inheritance Ceremony for Yamamoto.. I can see him conjuring a plan like this to fuck the shit out of Byakuran post Reborn death, or even just for the possibility of getting Reborn back. But this is just a headcanon again. Either way?? Im FOAMING at the mouth with you.
As for the rest of our discussion, first of all I lost my shit when you sent the manga panel of Reborn looking shocked but holy shit i didnt connect those dots that Reborn was ?? shocked?? that Tsuna was going along with it. And that its coming from a place of anger and vengeance from Tsuna, which isn't usual for him but fuck they attacked his family. As you mentioned, they crossed that firm line drawn in the sand and Tsuna was going for their throat this time bc how dare they? When, in Tsuna's eyes, Yamamoto was done NOTHING wrong to his attacker. As for Tsuna becoming Vongola Decimo and how he would've been shackled, this is actually something we discussed in our server as well. The conclusion I ended up coming with is that in the end it didn't matter to Tsuna. He was seeing red. He was furious. He was willing to sacrifice everything, even his own freedom from the Mafia to avenge Yamamoto. It's either that he was so blinded by rage that he didn't consider the consequences of his actions, or even worse he was willing to take up the mantle of Vongola Decimo if it meant catching the person who did this to Yamamoto. For Yamamoto's sake, he would be Vongola Decimo. AND THAT IDEA??? OOOHHHH. UGHHHH. THERES SO MUCH TO TSUNAS CHARACTER AND IT DRIVES ME MAD BC HE SEEMS SO SIMPLE AT FIRST LOOK. AND IM??? IM AAAAH YKNOW??
[follow up to this post]
the future arc isn't personally my favorite, but i totally get the people for whom it is. the writing for it is really solid and really steps up from what we had so far, and i DO love so much that first part of the arc up to the end of the merone base raid.
you know, at times like this i wish i'd remember what my reaction was to it the first time i read it too, but my memory is shit lol. but i don't need to to agree it was so iconic and insane of amano to make tsuna appear in the future in a coffin. like not only it's the first thing we learn about the future, but also the first thing we learn about his future. that ten years later he's dead. absolute fucking power move from amano, like hello??
but also, while we're on the subject... this literally just came to me so idk if i'm going to be articulate about this lol, but i think there's something to be said about how the first thing we learn about tyl tsuna is that he's dead. and then he stays dead throughout the arc, mentioned and talked about, judged and defended, praised and blamed, but it all happens through other people. everything we learn about him, every choice (or lack thereof) and decision attributed to him, every glimpse into his personality and what kind of man he was, we learn all of it it through someone else's words. through someone else's eyes, and tho we're given no reason to doubt they're saying the truth, they can only be biased as they say it. like, amano could have made him appear through flashbacks, but she didn't. she gave him no physical appearance, no face, no voice. and then when she does do that (tho even then she still gives him no face), he only talks about his present self. has only words for him. and idk what is there to say about all that, but i know it's relevant to the themes of the future arc.
I think there's an addition that Irie did say that Byakuran would've found a way to bring the younger gang to the future anyway must have absolutely added to TYL Tsuna's stress and desire to get his younger self ready before Byakuran decided it was time before he was.
you're right! i tend to overlook that bit of information, but it is canon that either way, the present 10th gen would have found themselves in the future. so for tsuna to decide he'll be the one to make it happen and have control over it instead of byakuran, was of course the right choice to make. the safest one, both for them and their present selves. as well as the kindest one, because of course, tsuna didn't just bring them to the future to leave them to die in it, the way byakuran would have done. he came up with a plan to make sure they were ready to face the future like you said, and would be strong enough to see it through. and the plan was still harsh and painful and arguably cruel on them, but it still was kindness from tsuna at the same time. consideration for the situation he had no choice but to get them involved in. it was him taking responsibility for it and sparing them the worse of it as much as he could and as much as realistically possible. and maybe it made little difference, but it's still more than byakuran would have allowed them for sure, and it did play a non-negligible part in them not only surviving the future, but coming out on top of it.
you know... for some reason i've always thought tsuna was level-headed when he agreed to go along with the plan. like of course his hands were being forced as he was backed against a corner, facing a hopeless and desperate situation, but in my head he still had himself together somehow. sat and considered the pros and cons of the plan with a cool head, before deciding it was worth the gamble.
but like. knowing tsuna, it's much more likely he hadn't, you're right. that he was standing on the brink, and maybe had already fallen from it. i mean, yamamoto's dad got killed, his parents were unaccounted for, vongola's hq fell and vongola was hunted, namimori was invaded and every people there connected to him hunted too, forcing kyoko and haru to be on the run, with lambo and i-pin after them to keep them safe when they were just fifteen but still forced to take part in a literal war. tsuna had already lost so much by that point, while still being at risk of losing much more. and at the same time, he had already lost the worst thing he could lose, because of course, there's also reborn. reborn who also died, who also got killed when he's the one person who's always been by his side, who's always been his rock and anchor, who's always known how to give him strength again when his own failed him. and MY gut feeling headcanon is that reborn died not too long before tsuna put the plan in motion. maybe even died only just a couple of days before that, and that was the last straw, the deciding factor that made tsuna go along with the plan.
so like. maybe tsuna was heartbroken and crestfallen when he made that decision. maybe it was an entirely emotional one, one he made out of spite and vindictive feelings for byakuran like you said. out of fear he'll end up with nothing more left to lose, and out of his guilt for letting things come to that point and not being in a position--not having the power to make things right again. a decision he made out of his grief and the desperate hope he could get back everything he lost. the hope he could get reborn back. and okay, consider this, but independently of whether it was the right thing to do or of the chances of the plan to be successful, maybe he simply agreed to it too out of the certainty it's what present tsuna would have done too. that it's what he'd have wanted too, that he would have taken any chance that might bring reborn back to him. because it's reborn. oh i'm soo normal about this and their bond.
For Yamamoto's sake, he would be Vongola Decimo.
YOU CANT JUST SAY THAT TO ME LIKE I HAVENT THE SOFTEST SPOT FOR YAMS AND TSUNA. oh my god. oh my god??? for yamamoto's sake... for yamamoto. and i mean, i know tsuna would have done the exact same thing for any of his other guardians, but that amano chose to go along with yams instead of any other guardian... like again, i do very much believe tsuna would have reacted the same way were it anyone else, but at the same time i really do very much believe the fact it was yamamoto played a part in his anger and resolve to avenge him. i really can't explain it, but like. it's yamamoto, you know?
NO I KNOW!!!! tsuna is... he's so easy to overlook and deem unworthy of a second glance, but if you DO look back at him, and then really look at him, you can't stop and can't look away. and the longer you look, the more there is to look at. which is even more insane because at his core tsuna still is truly, really just some guy. he's just a complex character in very simple ways i guess??
anyway yeah, i need to LIE DOWN now, thanks.

First of all thank you so much for always providing such detailed panel summary and description. You do such amazing job and your dedication is so lovely.
Now I wanna mention I am a huge huge fan of both Sam as a character, and Jared. He has been growing on me ever since i learned more about his mental struggles and watched his con videos. He is so choatic and funny and comes off as both genuine and smart. But I do notice he sometimes makes some insensitive comments.
How do you feel about the cat joke in minncon? It has been ruining my mood really and I don't even know who to tell because I don't wanna come across any Jared hate :( yet the comment was quite... distaseful. He did start with how he does love cats so I really try to see it as him just being very young, and probably very inexperienced and thanks to Jensen he was quick to fix it, but I really wished to know your insight too. Do you think it was just a bad joke? I love Jared but I am also very sensitive over such things....
I kinda think what happens is that the guys sometimes take what they say about being one big SPN family a little too literally and forget for a moment that they are actually in a big room full of mostly strangers. So they tell jokes or funny stories that would go over just fine with people they know well who know them well, but are about sensitive subjects where it's very likely to strike a wrong chord with at least a few people in a wider, less personally-familiar audience. Even without certain people in the audience eagerly waiting for something they can actively inject bad faith into.
While a lot of Jared's jokes are dad jokes, he more generally just tells a lot of groaners, and I 100% think that's all this was. Dude lives in what's practically a full-on menagerie and frequently talks about his and his kids' love of animals and did immediately preface the whole story with how he does love cats (and dogs). I suspect he was trying to make his story funnier to match the irreverent tone Jensen's story about his kids' drawings being terrible had set - but in quickly pulling a joke off the top of his head, managed to hit on something some people will never take as a joke. He immediately clarified he wasn't serious and Jensen added another joke about pissing off all the cat people to help lighten the mood. I wasn't at all upset by it because it was so clearly a joke, but I did definitely go "ohhhh Jared nooooo" in my head because I could easily see how it might be legitimately upsetting to some fans.
It kinda reminds me of one of the cons a while back where there was a Jensen and Misha panel and the fan got up and asked an earnest mental health question and Misha blew it off and Jensen made a joke about "never keep fighting". IIRC, they moved on and seriously answered after that, but it struck a very sour note for some fans for them to joke about mental health and a campaign of Jared's very close to a lot of fans' hearts, which I think was totally understandable in a similar way.
As much as fandom loves to put these guys on pedestals, they're just guys who are doing their best to entertain a crowd in what is, after all, a very impromptu fashion. I know I couldn't get on stage and engage entire rooms full of people for an hour con after con unscripted without sometimes hitting an awkward note.

Entry #1: May 27th, 1994
Our plane just landed in Asoltan - the so-called "capital city" of Am'akana. It looks more like a large town, to me. But it's apparently the biggest city in the country, according to Roselyn. There are no skyscrapers - most buildings don't have more than one story, it looks like.
The flight was a bit questionable. There are no flights from Dinétah direct - nowhere in North America. We had to fly into Punta Arenas to get connected, and the plane was almost empty. Roselyn herself was the only Am'akanan woman on the flight, and it was clear it wasn't designed for her. Which seemed surprising to me - do giant women not fly at ALL? Average Am'akanan woman is something like 10 or 12 feet tall, but the airplane would have you convinced that I'm taller than most of them.
But after a gruelling thirty-eight hours of sitting in cramped seats next to strangers and lounging during long layovers, we were finally here. It took years of saving up the money and vacation time - made easier by promotions, of course, but the trip was a reality. Two weeks of relaxation, fun, celebrations, delicious food, it was all you could ask for.
I wish that we didn't have to be here during winter, but there was no other choice. It was the only time that Roselyn was able to get off such a big block of time from teaching, and without her, there was no point to being here. The sky was dark and cloudy, wind howled outside as heavy snow scattered across the sky.
It made me very uneasy.
Camila was breathing heavily too. She'd never experienced weather like this in her life. I guess only Adrienne had - she was from Alaska, after all. How different was Antarctica?
And Roselyn was never cold. I guess it had something to do with her size? That's what she always told us. She overheated in the desert sun, so I guess that made sense. She only packed a light jacket, while the rest of us were bundled for temperatures well below zero.
Walking out into the airport felt bizarre. I'd grown up around one of the busiest airports in North America, but this one was a ghost town. There were a couple restaurants here and there - chain food - and the workers, but it was overwhelmingly empty. A couple people here and there walked around, but it's like no one was going anywhere at all.
There were few lights. The entire place was dimly lit. Not because of electrical issues - they just didn't want to install as many fluorescent light panels. I guess Am'akanans could just see in the dark? I don't know. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. It gave me like, that weird pit in my stomach, the sinking feeling I was about to get murdered.
There wasn't really a sound either. It was quiet, and still. I guess we really looked like tourists, because people kept giving us weird looks and ignoring us. By "us", I mean me, Camila, and Adrienne. People were NOT paying negative attention to Roselyn. A man walked past us and stared at her longingly, and when she greeted him, he bowed respectfully while his tanned face turned flushed.
We were supposed to be meeting her family here. Well - some of them? I don't entirely get it. There's apparently like, two hundred of them, or something. But there would be two young men to drive us back.
They were easy to find. The only people doing anything other than wandering about like zombies.
Two lightly tanned men dressed in vibrant white, blue, and green robes - or more like ponchos - with ornate designs. It sort of evoked pine trees, mountains, and/or auroras. I'm not sure. It was very, very beautiful though. They were...really hot. Like holy shit. Was Am'akana just genetically predisposed to be full of tens?
They greeted us in what I assume is the traditional Am'akanan way. They placed their left hand over their heart and gently bowed, but only very slightly. Roselyn did it back, so I mirrored her. They talked to Roselyn in Am'akanan for a bit. I didn't really understand any of it - it was hard enough to pick up English and Spanish, what chance did I have at learning one of the most complex languages in the world?
But apparently they spoke English too. With thick accents and rich, deep voices. Jesus - if they weren't family, I'd take them home with us.
They talked very very respectfully. Like, the maximum amount of formality possible in the English language. It's as if we were the British royal family.
When walking out of the airport, the way they talked just rang in my head. "Lady Chie". So fancy! I was embarrassing myself already, I had no idea how to match their level of seriousness. I still talk like a surfer girl. I can't help it!
As we passed through gates, I felt very very short. I mean, I was - 5'3" on a good day - but everything was sized for *Roselyn*. I only felt that short when I was in her room back home, and that took a ton of time and money to build to her scale. She was still a bit taller than average, it seemed, but she wasn't hitting her head on anything. It was nothing like the gate hell we went through in PHX or Punta Arenas. The ceilings were cathedral-tall. She couldn't help but smile the whole way through.
I reached up and squeezed her hand best I could while the men led us through. They didn't talk much. Maybe they weren't supposed to talk to us unprompted? They didn't even speak until Roselyn talked to them first, but then they were super friendly. It kind of put me on edge too. This felt way, way too serious.
This feeling only got worse when we left the building. The doors had to be opened by Roselyn - the gigantic glass was too heavy for anyone else to push. An entrance twenty feet tall. The first doorframe that the 15'6" Roselyn had never hit her head on. She was giddy! Gigantic grin on her face. It was pretty cute. It was the only source of comfort outside.
Snow drifted down and landed all over our heads and arms and legs. The wind whipped my hair back and nearly took off my hat. It had to be at least thirty miles per hour. The sky was completely dark. No visibility. Most homes didn't have lights on, and it was only 5 pm.
Their family didn't live in Asoltan. They lived in Touwaiya, a small village in a valley many hours away. It would be a long, long drive. Yayy! More sitting in a car! I'm actually writing this in the car as we speak. My pocket flashlight still has some battery left. It's so dark, the visibility is non-existent. The car is actually sized for Roselyn. It's more of a limousine-monster truck combination. There were steps on the side for Camila, Adrienne, and I, while Roselyn was able to hop right in. She didn't have to crane her neck at all.
She's sitting in the back right now, leaning her head against the window and taking a nap. She's snoring - super loudly, she always has. The second row is for the rest of us, and then the two men are up front. One in drivers', one in passengers. I tried talking to them, but they don't want to continue conversations. They don't like me, I think.
Adrienne is messing with her mp3 player. I'm shocked it still has power. There's no radio on. It's just silence, spare for Roselyn's snoring. I asked them if they could put something on, but they didn't. I love her, but her snoring drives me a little crazy. She's so big, it's so loud you can feel it in your chest. It rattles your bones around. It's cute when that happens when she's laughing, or chattering while she's having a great time, but I'm almost tempted to go wake her up just so I can get some peace and quiet. But I won't, because she's exhausted and because true silence would make me go even more insane, I think.
Camila is trying to sleep, but unsuccessfully. She's laying down flat. The seats are so incredibly huge that they're like king-sized beds. I have no idea how they're considered safe enough for us. I tried talking to Camila, but she's really grumpy and tired.
I'll update this journal when we get there. It's going to be about 6 hours of this. The sun isn't going to come up. Why did we have to come here in winter? At least it's warm inside the car.
If there's no entries after this, I died - probably from hypothermia.
~ Chie
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
New worldbuilding thingy,, using the silly OC Chie on her vacation with her polycule to explore day-to-day life in the fictional Antarctic nation of Am'akana - a matriarchal society of giant women.
Note that in this timeline, Antarctica is warm enough to be habitable :3
I hope u guys like this, I'm already planning on making more of these :) next entries will have even more size difference shenanigans. Thought it would be more interesting than an encyclopedic lore dump.
so yesterday I was bored and wanted to read something that I wouldn't get too emotionally invested in. so I decided to go find platinum end and see how bad it is. and wow, it... really is that boring. 3 chapters in & i was skimming over most of it & I'm not sure I can make it to the end. there's literally not a single compelling aspect about this entire piece, except maybe the question of why it exists. it's like Ohba went. "hmm. I have one really popular manga, but I'm honestly not sure why it got popular, so if I just do all the same things in *this* story maybe I'll replicate my success" which. I do have *some* sympathy with. having something you make get that popular, everything else is going to reflect on it whether you want it to or not, and I understand how that could cause some writer's block. especially when it seems he doesn't? actually know what his strengths as a writer are?
because here's the thing Ohba *does* have strengths as a writer. he can write incredibly convoluted plots with ramifications, and that can be a fun thing to watch play out (he's got "convoluted" down here, but instead of being connected by cause and effect, stuff seems to just "happen" and there's no ramifications yet, which makes the plot super boring). The other thing Ohba is good at is writing smart characters doing clever things. And it's not like he lost all of his capacity as a writer, he was still good at it when he wrote Minoru. so it's not like he can "only write one kind of smart character" either. If he wanted to avoid writing Light 2.0 he could've done that and still made it compelling, I think. but... so far, the most interesting character here is... the guy who was dying of cancer and wants to design superhero suits. But upon further reflection, most of what makes him interesting is because of Obata. because Obata at least put some *effort* into the art, while I feel like Ohba put 0 effort into the writing. I don't feel the story plays to Obata's strengths as an artist, but he's managed to create some nice panels that are somewhat memorable. and again, the only reason any character or scene becomes interesting is because of the artwork. Like the main character: he's got no personality beyond being depressed and missing his family and an obsession with finding happiness. but Obata draws him with pathos in some certain scenes, and it could almost make you feel something except that it doesn't.
The main duo, that is the main character and his angel, don't play off each other well. she's also a bit morally iffy, which I feel was purposeful: the only remotely memorable line so far is when she's talking to the other angel about the main character and says "I don't think he's the kind of person who can be happy after committing murder yet." like. what kind of a line is that. what kind of a contest is this.
yeah, none of the god contestants except for knight dude want the job, since they're all depressed. conceptually that comes the closest to being interesting this story gets, except it's the least fun thing in the world to watch. and knight dude is just. you can't even root for him, he's that dull. others have mentioned the super weird conversation between knight dude and his friend(?) when they're at the archery place, where the friend is like yeah if I had a wish I'd wish for all ugly girls in the world to disappear. which yeah. sexist. and knight dude is like cool wish! (???) but then the friend goes on and is like 'and all guys more handsome than me, too' and then knight dude is like 'can't do that one, I'd have to die' and friend laughs and agrees. what I want to know is, who talks like this?? was knight dude "joking"? he has no sense of humor though; it's not played that way. and the friend just. Idk that whole scene is baffling.
there are gore and fanservice scenes like "look! shock value! surely this counts for something???" which are also honestly incredibly dull. Obata draws that stuff like he's drawing the Yotsuba building. actually the Yotsuba building was more interesting. because yes, Yotsuba makes a cameo so knight dude can blow up its doors with his arrow weapon. Sakura TV makes a cameo too.
anyway I can see where Light gets his belief that humanity is boring from. it's from the author because the author seems to think that too. Ohba probably should've stuck to writing genius characters and villains, all his "good guys" have no personality whatsoever. they're like little paper dolls. unfortunately, the villain in the piece (so far) also feels like a little paper doll.
there's one moment or aspect that could've been interesting, but again, wasn't. which is the fact that the main character is in love with Saki, this girl at his school. But she's also a god candidate and ended up shooting him with cupid's arrow to make him on her side (it doesn't last, he's still on her side though). That plus main character's tragic Cinderella backstory including dead parents makes him a bit of a Misa parallel, and I don't think I'm reaching with that because there's an actual line where he (who has wings, Saki doesn't) offers to Saki "I can be your wings!" so. Misa who won't kill people though, and has no sense of volition, which makes him significantly less interesting.
The thing is, if Ohba had taken the flip and played it through all the way, he could've done something kind of halfway-clever, and had Saki be a Light parallel. Like, if main character thinks this girl's so sweet and nice but you the reader meet her and go "wow, she's cold and calculating and totally just using him to gain her foothold as god" that could've added something to the character dynamics. but instead she, also, has no personality and does nothing. and so far main character hasn't even wondered once why the girl he likes apparently lost the will to live so much that she got entered into this contest.
Fullmetal Alchemist Chapter 54
Lin Yao is evolving from Babygirl to Poor Little Meow Meow.
Father has no sense of personal space. And finding out about Hohenheim is the most emotive he's ever been. And Gluttony and Envy are very confused to see their father having a casual conversation with people.
I love Gluttony throughout this chapter. From his confused face, to when he gets upset about Ed asking him not to eat Lin, to him eating a pipe Ed used to attack him. Every panel of him is great.
Tumblr media
When Ed hit Envy, he used his left arm to add more weight to his elbow bash.
Tumblr media
This is immediately followed up by hurting his leg when he kicks a stone wall.
Tumblr media
Father deactivating everyone's Alchemy is so well drawn and transitions so well. We have the ground-zero impact, the immediate surroundings, then we see the clouds part over Central, and finally, we see Hohenheim see the clouds. You can feel that Hohenheim is very far away from Central.
Aside from the "Pitiful lower lifeforms" part, Envy's mocking speech at Ed and Al feels like a minor summary of the overall theme of the story. Alchemists can harness the power of Alchemy to perform superhuman abilities, and some of them think they're superior because of it. But take that power away, and they're rendered helpless.
When their Alchemy was taken away from them, all Ed and Al could do was desperately try using it. They don't know what to do without it.
I wouldn't be surprised if Envy chose that soul specifically to keep Ed from firing that gun.
Tumblr media
And Lin goes full heel by becoming Greed. In hindsight, it's appropriate. He and Greed both had grand desires for power and immortality.
Spoiler Discussion
The other Homunculi have general disdain for humans while Father is more dismissive of them. Since they are all parts of his soul, their collective opinions on humans would likely paint a full picture of how Father feels.
Lust and Envy have the cruelest opinions of humans, seeing them as fools who always repeat the same mistakes and find them easily manipulated. Envy in particular loves to cause strife, but we later learn that Envy hates humans can put aside their differences and come together.
Wrath and Greed have more positive opinions of humans. They enjoy interacting with people. Wrath genuinely enjoys having a family. Greed refers to those he keeps around him as possessions, but he genuinely cares for them, gets upset when they're harmed, and ultimately feels satisfaction when he calls Ed and Lin friends.
Pride, Gluttony, and Sloth are generally dismissive. Gluttony only sees them as food, Sloth is entirely apathetic to anything, and Pride just genuinely thinks he's better than humans. But even with his sense of superiority, Pride acknowledges the strengths of humans.
So putting all this together, I'd say Father's true opinion on humans is he finds them foolish and lesser beings, but he actually admires their ability to get back up and move forward. And he wishes he could emulate their ability to come together as friends and family. But his own ego keeps him away from that and he'd rather angrily cut down anyone who could counter his belief in his own superiority.
I was wondering why do you hate Hephaestus and Tsukuyomi? It's okay if you don't want to answer, I'm just a little curious.
i don't hate heifer!! for the most part i really like heifer! i really appreciate his deal esp in contrast to that weird shit they did with daisuke's social anxiety, where instead of being cutesy-fied almost to the point of fetishization, his Issues make him a weird surly cunt. it's feels like a much more realistic depiction of those sorts of Issues that he's just weird and uncomfortable and standoffish all the time, not to mention more palatable imo. he is like a breath of fresh air to me i LOOOVE when guys are just weird cunts.
the problem i have is with his interactions with the protag specifically. and i don't mean how in his debut he like... ties them to a chair in his basement and goes off, over their vocal objections, to kill off all of their loved ones/the entire population of tokyo, so that all that remains them and the robot copy he made of himself to keep them company (as COMICALLY BAD as all that sounds/actually was, he obviously wasn't in his right mind, it's not A Thing He Does, blah blah blah). i mean that he's a Grown Ass Man sincerely addressing a Teen-Aged Child as his Mother (not to even mention the... weird vibe of their direct interactions, what with the blushing). like. Stop. Stop Acting Like That. does not help that talos guilt-trips the protag when they object to some grown ass man deciding they're his mom.
but yeah, could do without that Mama shit, and i wish his interactions with the protag were just... COMPLETELY different, but i don't hate or even just dislike heph. tsukuyomi, on the other hand... yeah uhh he's going under the cut for uh, incest, as well as some lowkey harassment so tldr i think he's a creep
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it's not acknowledged in the narration, but whatever he said to him, judging from the sfx, tetsuya slaps him in between these panels. yeah uh this made my skin crawl... but aside from that tsukuyomi was consistently very cordial to everyone so i was like... trying to dismiss that as like another instance of housamo writing in some ooc weird creepy one-off shit for no reason as they are wont to do
and then
Tumblr media
YEAH UM? GUESS WHICH ADJECTIVE ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT FUCKING BELONG THERE.
like i'm sorry i can't get over that ! and since this was his debut, i can't separate it from my understanding of his character like i'm sorry but tsukuyomi's a creep forever in my brain. he didn't end up in the DIE tier by virtue of clearing the incredibly low bar of not being a creep towards children (or a rapist like hakumen, or a trafficker like daikoku, etc. etc.) but his interactions with tetsuya really skeeved me out and then in combination with THAT...
have i mentioned recently that i will literally never forgive how repugnant people act about shuichi and duo ? like when this game is increasingly disconcertingly indulgent in how it portrays incest and relishes in having actually predatory characters, but ppl hone in on the brown autistic people with the genuinely innocuous relationship to insinuate one's attachment to the other is predatory, esp when their relationship is SHOCKINGLY normal by the standards of this game bc the Entire Point of their conjoined deal is that they're motivated by Familial Love, like... some of y'all fr just hate autistic people & are predisposed to seeing brown people as predatory lol. but let me not get into that rn
