I broadly think the majority of content you find in "X critical" tags tends to be a bit. Uh. Garbage in terms of legit media criticism, but I cannot overstate their importance in terms of being easily filterable for people who actually like X, and idk if it's the recent migrations from other social media platforms or (more likely) if I'm just having an off week and reading into things too much but like. Can we keep it going/bring it back??? If I have to see one more post about how ppl hate a certain thing in that certain things tag (where fans congregate to find content of the thing), with no filterable critical tag. I might actually kill ppl

Also this maybe sound mercenary but as someone who has put an amount of concerted effort into building friend groups and communities online and had like, a measurable amount of success in that area if you judge by amount of good friends I have made, investment that people feel in my online presence, and like... number of ppl who say they have been positively impacted by stuff I have said or made,

Lecturing people is literally the opposite of how you do this

If you look at the (very few, tbh) people who have built such strong presences on here that they are able to platform their content and make money off it, like Joy @thebibliosphere , what they're doing is modeling the behavior that they want to see in the people who interact w them

And like.. idk. Just, if I was going to leap into a new online community I would model the behavior I wanted to see. I would find people making content I loved and TELL THEM THAT and message them and be curious about them and build a rapport. With the people who are already active in the way I aspire to, and focusing on those groups of people and that content and I would 300% not do it by lecturing dark matter followers and lurkers for ... being that.

i'm gonna make this post since i have like ten asks wondering my thoughts on it. and i don't really feel like repeating myself over and over again.

long story short, i'm disappointed.

so… snc did a video with elton and corey. they addressed the rumors that have been circulating about elton and the things he has done to snc, none of which were true. and i'm glad that that can finally come to a close and the death threats can calm down. bc while i never liked elton, he didn't deserve death threats.

but let me get into the video.

i don't feel like rewatching it, so if i get some things wrong, idc. but what i know for certain is that elton flat out said "the fans drove us apart and made me act the way i did." which, is just a flat out lie. HE started way back in late 2020/21. i have proof. i've seen it with my own eyes. i was literally there while he was tweeting out things against snc. if he is that easily persuaded, he should reconsider his career choices. fans took it too far, i'm not disagreeing with that; but to pretend that him and corey didn't shade snc for years and that the fans started a beef between them is ridiculous and incredibly incorrect. elton started a battle that he didn't think was gonna continue for as long as it did. he believed his ego and thought fans would side with him in his unjust belief that snc were copying him. and it didn't play out in his favor, so he just got more bitter and bitter over the years about it. once ppl started making up lies about him, something he had no issue doing to snc, that's when things went "too far".

again, did he deserve death threats for being petty? absolutely not. did he deserve lies to be made up about him? no. but do not pretend to be an innocent bystander in a war YOU started. you handled things publicly and then got pissed when the public had opinions. idk what you expected. snc didn't do anything to elton. they didn't copy him, they didn't take content that was his and change it around to be their own. that is something elton CLAIMED to have been the case. and now he tries to blame it on fans and that they were the ones that claimed that. his apology is null and void when he turns around and says "yeah i said some things i shouldn't have but it's actually the fans' doing that made me think that way." you are full grown adult man with multiple businesses. act like it.

and i cannot fathom under any circumstance why snc would ALLOW elton and corey back into their lives. they bad-mouthed you two for YEARS. they did it in front of fans on tour! they cultivated a fandom that was happy to see you guys fail or get called out. i get you feel bad that fans took things too far. that maybe you were petty too in some instances, that you could have reached out sooner. but YOU DIDN'T START THIS. they don't deserve loyalty or to be in your lives again bc fans were assholes! and you shouldn't want someone in your life that will believe a stranger over you. bc what is there to say that elton won't turn around and shit on you again? he obviously has issues talking shit out. what about the next time he thinks you slighted him? you think he's gonna be rational and act like an adult and talk to you? probably fucking not.

snc bitch time and time again about feeling used, that they always feel taken advantaged of. they keep their inner circle small bc they can't trust anyone. colby literally talked about not being able to date outside of the industry bc what if the girl he's with wants something from him. they do all of this complaining, only to bring elton and corey back in. two ppl who will only BENEFIT from being their friend again. they have been losing subs and followers for years now ever since they started this war. they have nothing to lose being your friend again. they will USE YOU.

it became very apparent to me that snc only want elton and corey back in their lives for memories' sake. they had a three hour conversation only to go back and talk about the good ol times. there's a reason why those moments are in the past. elton literally still sees you guys as the young 20 year olds he has to "take care of". he literally said he loveD you guys, past tense - bc now he hasn't hung out with yall in so long. and you want that back in your life bc you miss feeling young and have uncle elton around? let go of 2017. that was a life time ago. there is no reason to have this man back in your life. and same goes for corey. neither one of them even wished you well publicly when you were diagnosis with cancer or going thru chemo, colby! what about that screams good friend material??

i know i am one person with one opinion. you don't have to listen to me, and that goes for everyone reading this. if you're happy they're back together, that's great. good for you. but i will not be supporting any content that comes from elton/corey and snc. if they do a video together, go on a trip - i will not watch it. i don't care to see two men who i care about hang out with two other guys that literally wished them the worst for three years straight.

snc are allowed to make whatever choice they want. if they want these guys back in their lives, that's the choice they make. if they accept elton's apology, that's fine. but i will not support it. it is such a disappointing feeling to see the ppl you care about act like floormats personified. you guys are so desperate to be seen as good and positive and it is mind-numbingly annoying. who cares if you're an asshole sometimes?! set boundaries for christ's sake. and follow thru on them. stop listening to fans who have the attention span of a spoon and are only here bc they think you're hot.

…this goes into a longer issue i've had with snc for a while now. and that's that i'm no longer excited to be an avid watcher of them. everything that has happened this year was proof, to me, that they should have taken an actual, long term break, the moment colby got sick. they started out the year not even being with each other on colby's bday. and even before that you could tell something was off with the two of them. it was clear colby wanted a break, was aching for one, and sam was the one that wanted to jump right back into work the moment the new year started. then colby got diagnosed, then sam and kat broke up, then colby went thru chemo, then sam needed to get his shit sorted out so he went to therapy (and still very much needs it). then they celebrated colby being cancer free and jumped back into the amount of work they were used to doing. this doesn't even take into account that colby never got time to recover from even realizing HE HAD CANCER, or the fact he was working all while going thru chemo and before that too. they NEVER took a break. taking a week off to black out in japan doesn't count. they are so obsessed with working and numbers, it's not even funny.

and then this podcast with kris… while i did enjoy it, it became very clear to me that snc are really only making content anymore for views and money. and look, get your coin, this is your job after all. but at what point do you start making content you actually enjoy making? bc the moment they shitted on 25x25, something they very much loved when it was happening, that was enough proof that they only care about views and money anymore. the only reason they stopped that WAS bc no one watched it. and ppl didn't stop watching it bc it was inauthentic. you were travelling during a deadly pandemic… what did you expect fans to do?? not to mention you cold turkey-ed content that ppl signed up for (haunted stuff). of course the views are gonna plummet. it wasn't bc the editing was weird and new, which is what yall love to latch onto even to this day. you guys were so excited for that content, and now shit on it bc it's become the joke to the fandom, half of which wasn't even here when you made that content.

you collab with ppl no one even cares to see you with bc you know it will bring in views. who the fuck wants to see yall and bella poarch at the conjuring house??? none of these collabs make sense anymore, unless you just want to get views. all the content you have put out this year has been mediocre at best. you talk about quality over quantity but really should have just considered not working and taking a break since one of you was literally going thru fucking cancer.

i just feel so deflated. i'm not even excited for the conjuring house. i don't care about hell week. i can't even be pissed that sam is barely helping with the edit still. none of this fucking matters anymore.

yall don't care, so why should i?

do whatever makes you happy, i guess. but don't complain when you realize it doesn't, bc i'm not gonna be here to hear it.

Fair to say it isn't painting him out to be the greatest at eating it up.

Because tbh - I see Kai the exact same as you... Maybe a bit less liberally? My opinion on Kai is he's damn entertaining and there's undeniably reason why he's won "STREAMER OF THE YEAR" award three times in a row.

He's a good fkn content creator.

That being said, he is very errr... Very morally dubious. I've not seen clips of homophobia or transphobia, but I can kinda believe that without seeing proof - he and his AMP group are all quite ignorant to real life, social issues like the misogyny you call out - WHICH I HAVE SEEN.

Thing is, the people and the women he surrounds himself with, there's so many fkn materialistic people in one frame it's craaazy watching those streams. The guys are all trying to emanate alpha masculinity, and all the girlies are trying to shake it on Kai... It's just a very materialistic, American environment which my little British heart is happy to not be involved in.

About this little headcanon i wrote though.

Sooo i deffo had the whole "Kai-is-very-objectifying-of-women" thought in my mind when I wrote it... hence that oneshot not really dipping so much into the thought that Kai'd be the best or most enthusiastic at eating out

Thing is that though, my purpose with that post was to write headcanons about what these ppl are like eating out. And the intended effect of that was to write it convincingly enough that readers believe it, and also that people like it and think it's hot - as all fkn smuts should be, surely?

Is it accurate to truth? Probably not! But the thing is that, it's a fucking headcanon. Of course it's not going to be 100% accurate, of course it's going to feed into female fantasies moreso than truths, because it is just a fictional bit of smut.

Are smutshots just like real sex? Of course not - they zoom into all the parts that are hot about sex, and hyperbolise them for a reader's enjoyment.

Same with what I wrote there.

If you're trying to point me out or shame me for not being 'woke' or 'aware' of social issues revolving around Kai and his behaviour you'd be damn wrong - one look on my profile shows that I frequently explore ethical qualms surrounding various content creators, and can see both sides of a story damn well.

If you're trying to shame me out for glorifying a man that's harmful to society and shaping youths' views on various marginalised groups that're already discriminated against? That's kinda valid tbf. But people reading smut are of a mature enough age whereby I would say they're quite able to acknowledge the wrongdoings of a person and let them contribute into deciding whether or not they choose to follow a person or not, based off of their previous actions online. I might be "glorifying" a morally-grey person, but that's not to assert that I'm bedazzling all other aspects of them - such as Kai's various prejudices displayed online.

No real conclusion for this one tbh. Just a bit weird how confrontational you are instead of actually coming in with a question or proper way of discussing disagreement.

I give Brian Michael Bendis (the writer on YJ19) a pass because I was following him on Twitter from the point YJ19 and the Wonder Comics imprint was announced, all the way through the end of that series.

From the second the announcement was made, his social media was completely inundated with people demanding that Stephanie be included in YJ19, entirely because she'd last been seen leaving Gotham with Tim. He also got flooded with asks about whether Cissie would make an appearance, or Aqualad (because YJ animated was still at the peak of its popularity and there was a whole contingent of fans who had zero clue that Kaldur was created for that show and that Jackson Hyde looks like but isn't exactly him), but with Steph? He and his co-creators got full on harassed, and it only got worse because she happened to turn up in a flashback in Issue 4. There were Internet journalists who derailed interviews he was giving to hype up his new Black and gay heroines just to demand more Stephanie, it was bad.

And then there was this whole mess that's going to be hard to explain succinctly. But it boils down to: given the timing of when the series was announced, they almost certainly had issues #1-#3 fully drawn and either at or on its way to the printer, issues #4-6 at least partially drawn and colored, issues #7-9 completely scripted and possibly with pencil drafts under way, and issues #10-12 drafted, with an outline already prepared for the second year if they thought they were going to go beyond 12.

But then something happened after the announcement -- and it had to have been after the announcement, otherwise they could've pushed back their release dates -- that led them to rewrite the entire second half of the year, everything from the end of #5 on. You can tell because the covers, which get made ahead of the rest of the issue, start going really wonky from #6 on and don't match up with the contents of the story, plus there's disconnect in the early solicitations. Also they skipped a month between #6 and #7 while making #7 basically a filler issue with guest artists who happen to have very simple, quick-draw cartoony styles that are easier to produce in a hurry.

That kind of turn-around on a publishing project is nuts, it's not fun to deal with. I would be surprised if Bendis had time to give his artists more than a "shitty rough draft" to work off of. But like I said he was still getting this constant barrage of demands for Steph so, as long as he was doing rewrites anyway, he took the chance to drop her in, or maybe the editor insisted he do so to try to bring in more readers. Either way, he just didn't have the time to make it good or put any thought into it.

I honestly feel so bad for their whole creative team. That's such a terrible situation to be in, and the first five issues make me feel like they were really putting their hearts into it. It's so sad it got derailed so badly.

i've been in love with wendla since i laid eyes on her and i would die to play her. im obsessed with her, she's got so much more depth than people realize and that was cut during the transition from play to musical fuck you s*ter and i would love to bring that to my rendition of her. and i was also assaulted when i was her age, i was also suicidal, i was also confused af and my mom was not helpful, i also wanted to be loved so badly, i just see a lot of my teenage self in wendla. i related to her so much when i first saw the show and that's a big reason i got so obsessed with it.

absolblogspokemon (147k) - pokemon channel: literally just. so fucking passionate abt pokemon? like. idk how to word it but seeing this grown guy just doing what he loves and putting in all this effort and love and crafting his silly little movies and storylines and drinking mountain dew is healing for the soul. 10/10 would recommend.

crossknights (16.2k) - lets play channel: i cant even remember how i found his channel. i wanna say evil genius? just a Guy who plays through various games and has been at it for over a decade. its just... like at that point you Know he does it bc he enjoys it and not just "clout" or shit which i can appreciate. also great if you wanna find playthroughs of more like.. obscure shit? i'd recommend his evil genius, rebuild, and ghost master series' bc they're my favorite

hoodohoodlumsrevenge (304k) - creepypasta channel: i cant usually do horror, but theres something Special abt like. shitty horror? esp internet creepypasta, which is kinda the focus of the channel. but what i specifically like is that hoodohoodlum doesnt just shit on the authors themselves and makes a clear line in trying to encourage new authors to improve-- it doesnt just feel like bullying, which makes consuming the content not feel like im being an asshole

kilian experience (790k) - mixed gaming channel: literally the funniest motherfucker holy shit? his garbage guide series and just general videos all have this fantastic storyline to follow and in-jokes but like. just generally engaging. listen just watch the Cinematic Kilian Experience Pokemon Universe in order and try to prove me wrong.

krimsonrogue (202k) - book review channel: if you enjoy having background noise from like podcasts or those long form analysis videos this Is the channel for you. you Will watch krimsonrogue. while reviewing actual Good Books and comparing book and film releases, the most milage ive gotten is from the reviews of absolute shit books-- if you know him, its likely from his onision book series, but the others are just as good. goes in deep and rips them to shreds, feels like hanging out w a friend.

notslaya49 (2.18k) - lets play/general gaming channel: if you ever consumed online spore content, especially around 2010-2012? you know this guy. or maybe his old channel-- slaya49. and while his spore content is still something i enjoy, its not the only! i also recommend his pokemon, amazing island, and bunni:how we first met playlists. has this kind of absurdist tired sarcastic/ironic humor?? which i enjoy at least.

weedletwineedle (162k) - pokemon channel: while absol focuses more on shiny hunting, weedle is all abt the competitive battling. i dont even Do competitive myself but i love weedle's content. the showdown content has fantastic editing, both for humor and general improvements, which makes it hard to go to other channels. the live commentaries are good for bgs and also help explain for ppl who know pokemon a lil worse. also! nonbinary and uses them/them! which is a lovely change of pace for youtube pokemon content

Months ago when I was recording some Dina scenes from Nmx for an IsaDina fanvid which is still a thing except I changed it so not really but like it sorta is... it’s fine I started noticing this thing where like, esp después de que se convierta la jefa de jefas but not just S3 -> see this post Barrón just seemed to ALWAYS be in the background of her shots? Which like, okay it’s not that weird. Mans haunts the edges of the whole show. He was following Mín around at the start of S3 when Mín was AFO big man on campus ... HOWMEVER

This fucking scene hit me right in the chesticle muscle they call that a heart? idk bc this happens after Min comes out of hiding and is Big Boss again. And like it’s awkwaaarrrd. Bc everyone’s a lil like, by everyone, I mean Pancho, Món, and obvious lover Barróncito “Cool Mín, you’re back! Glad you didn’t die, really swell. But Dina’s been holding down the fort like a regular Julius Caesar and her suits are sharper than yours imjustsosorry but I feel like??? she’s more in charge than you, hombre??? …also we're scared of her. Like when you get mad, you look much stress and stomp out of bday parties but when she gets mad, she strings ppl from freeway overpasses like wet laundry, so ….”

Bc lest we forget, this is the same ep Món finds Mayo and takes that tidbit to Dina, not Mín bc no one knows who’s in charge except they totally do and it’s totally Dina but they don’t want to make Mín cry in his soup when he just got back. And based on this scene, it seems Barrón is likewise unsure who’s in charge or he just not done following Dina around like a lost puppy bc he has functioning eyes and a functioning brain with which to process Dina’s extraordinary foxiness and can’t get enough ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ who can say

Y estas pendejadas got me in such a tizzy bc:

a) The way it’s shot. Bc callate alaverga y moment of silence for how fucking cool this looks. Dinarrón aside, enserio I love this shot so much. The close-up on Dina's face, all emo in her feels she turns around, it’s blurry, only for Barrón to slowly come into focus. It's one of those sequences that makes me regret going to school for Physics. Sub pinshe Chapo and Cochi in here, and I'm still obsessed. But like also.... okay.... am I straight bonkers, or does it seem like a weirdly intimate way to frame a shot for two characters who’ve only directly spoken a total of THREE MF TIMES IN THE WHOLE SHOW?? AM I??? CRAZY??? these are rhetorical kthnx had it been Panchito or Món, that would make sense to me. It’s her brothers, we've witnessed heartfelt interactions btwn them, she's close with them. Like alone it isn't weird but like… why??? Barrón?? Legit talked 3 times, I've counted.

b) he refers to her by The Formal “Usthted”

c) again, I ask ignoring the like obv answer of look at his face why is he the one tasked with getting Dina and not one of her brothers?? Like is he still her bodyguard?? Even though Mín is back and presumably he should be up Mín’s ass again?? Or maybe Dina got to keep her clear, obvious lover and blatant malewife security since she was boss for so long???

REGARDLESS, none of it especially makes sense and none of it’s especially explained. And thusly, the only rational thing we can conclude in light of this irrefutable evidence is THEY BEEN FUCKIN.

And suuurree, you're prob thinking.... Kay. In no way is that the only explanation. And y'know, I couldn't argue with you joke's on you, I can always argue no matter how absurd the angle except the above. Let's unpack this. Barrón is escorting his Boss in life and love to this big ass fam meeting that Ceasar understudy #1 Mín has called to discuss future AFO moves. Dina's standing at one end of the table, Min seated at the other end so that sksksks depending how you look at it, they're both at the head of the table.

More importantly tho, the look SKSKS on Dina's face SKSKSK when Mín asks Barrón about the Amado search. Before that, she's enjoying her smoke, raisin’ her eyebrows at someone all cute-like. Then Mín pipes up, “still nothing on Amado?" Barron says no and Mín tells him to *snap snap* stay on it, sends him away. Her fuckin face when she looks at Mín..... at Barrón.... then back at Mín, is giving like:

".... this biiiiiiiiiiiiiish ....? Just exactly???? tf you think you are??? Ordering mi mano derecha, mi rayo de Luna, mi espososa, MY MALEWIFE, around?? Is he yours???? Oh, no??? Cause he's mine??? Maybe I wanted him to go look for Amado. Or maybe I wanted him to stand next to me so we could look like the sexiest, most devastating, color-coordinated One True Power Couple that ever was. MAYBE THAT'S WHAT TF I WANTED HIM TO DO, MÍN."

… Okay, so maaay have taken some liberties, maybe editorialized that last part unpoquito... but, for sure, just the last bit.

zak, how do you find things like fanarts and other kinds of ship content for tot that's not mc x one of the boys? asking bc recently i got into marius x artem but aside from some fics on ao3, i can't never find things like fanarts or just posts about them. i feel like I'm looking in the wrong place? kajsjs but i only know of the tot tumblr fandom.. 😭😭

that being said, yea it is kinda difficult to be finding art and posts about any of the nxxboy ships. frankly, the only reason i can find stuff myself for marluke is cuz vjJKHVJKH I JUST (to some degree) KNOW OR KNOW OF EVERYBODY WHO SHIPS AND MAKES STUFF FOR MARLUKE HAHA. theres not very many of us, so it's easy for me to just follow Everybody whos ever made a marluke thing HJJKSF

one thing that can help tho for hunting art and content is through tags!!! i discovered a lot of great marluke arts here just by searching their ship tag #marluke or #mariluke (idk what divergent tagging evolution happened that marluke is more commonly used on tumb but on twt, it's primarily mariluke)

if im not mistaken, the common tag for marius/artem is #martem on twitter. sadly though, it doesnt seem to be the common tag on tumblr and idk what the martem shippers are using here DDD:

all of the nxxboy ships are very much rarepairs, in comparison to the other ships. there really arent going to be very many people, but the people who Do ship the ship are most likely gonna be extremely passionate about it. or at least, thats been my experience meeting and talking and making friends with other ppl who like marluke!!! small bunch, but very passionate. talking to the ppl around who ship the ship can both help u find more stuff of the ship and you might get a friend along the way too!

Basic stats: i'm 21, entp 7w8, a uni student (i study finance but thats against my will lol i acc have no idea what i wanna do in life).

My hobbies are honestly kinda ever-changing and my love for them fluctuates. Nth really been stuck with me but i like the finer things in life. I love art in all of its forms tho. I paint sometimes (either on canvas or lil statues i buy that are usually sold for kids to paint) and i love going to museums, exhibitions and sometimes dabble in photography when im particularly excited about a concept. I am a board game type person (never dabbled in video games). Anything from cards to chess to Clue and whatnot. Love it all. Also like to walk for a fuck ton of hours. I am the perfect travel buddy bc i will walk around for 10 hours non-stop and still have a grin on my face when looking at exciting new stuff. Weird obsession with airport atmosphere. Love being awake and outside at ungodly hours even tho it is against my will.

Things i dislike: small talk. Pls i cant stand it. I feel awkward and i wanna talk more. I hate closeminded ppl. Never understood how one can be so content with staying the same and never craving change or broadening their horizons. Routine, strict social norms and roles. Fuck all that :) also hate ppl who make a fuss about how others dress. The world would be a better place if we could dress like anime characters lol

Appearance (idk if it matters but maybe it helps you visualize me better and see what character would look good next to me): 6 ft, pitch black hair (overgrown 2-block hairstyle) and i got p pale skin with thick brows. Always look angry lol everyone thinks i am mad at them (even strangers ask if i am having a bad day lmao). My wardrobe is just black clothes of diff silhouettes but i keep it baggy and comfy :) feel super inspired by yohji yamamoto and rick owens but i legit cant afford that lol
