The lack of body hair had been a conscious choice originally because I wanted her skin to seem more like clay than animal (thus all the texture too). However the moment you sent this I went 😳 omg hairy Diana 😳. I am a firm believer in Diana having a lot of body hair in other interpretations, and I’m going to experiment over the next while to see how I can a) better render her skin to be clay-like, and b) see if body hair works.

But in the meantime, have some hairy Diana! ❤️

#before yvverse i was never the kind of person to write 4-6k word chapters #i have been writing this chapter since february 6th #it was agonizingly difficult... line by line crises type of difficult D: #i still have no clue how people like write thousands of words in a day and then hit post 🥲 i have spent so long on this. i think i spent #an hour this morning writing one paragraph #but now that the finish line is in sight i just feel so ready to post it (even though it is not done. and needs at least 500 more words #on top of editing) #anyways. apologies for yapping 🙇‍♀️ #in terms of difficulty... i feel like writing this series has been eye opening to me as to what i find difficult to write? which is #interesting. fool me twice pt5 was also hard for me in the sense that i rewrote it no fewer than 5 times... and this installment was hard #in a different way. one thing that always makes me depressed to think about is how many women undergoing chemo treat the hair loss as the worst part of everything. they'll literally be throwing up daily, no energy, losing fat and muscle, and battling CANCER, and they'll go 'i'm BALD, i'm hideous, i don't feel beautiful, i don't look like a woman anymore'. and you see those 'inspiring' videos of women with cancer doing their makeup to 'feel normal' and 'look pretty again', and people cheer them on...hell world.

#this is not vaguing . my brain just cannot let go of that post #that post about adding pause options in games for accessibility (valid and correct) #and then mentioning soulslike games #i dont know about other souls like because i don't play them #but DS/dark souls/bloodborne at least #have the stable ground feature that functions as a live save system #its a strategy to quit out of the game to reset enemy positions (TO MAKE THE GAME EASIER BTW) #and it doenst make you lose any progress #and quitting out requires so few buttons you can do it in a split second when u need a moment #it only really resets bosses (which is a feature not a bug) #and sekiro HAS a pause function afaik--because its fully single player + the stable ground feature #the greatest problem of the fromsoft-souls francise is gamers treating is as gamer cred for its difficulty #when the real appeal is the unique narrative and the fact that you can fine tune your own difficulty experience with different routes #routes-mechanics-and weapons #THATS the reason challenge runs are so big in those games--but what challenge runs don't tell you is that #you can choose to make your game harder #but you have the same control to make it easier #exactly as you want it. not just by changing HP scaling and damage as is the standard- but by changing the game experience itself #and theymay not be games for everyone. but no game is ever for everyone #but in terms of actual accessibility i believe fromsosft games ARE accessible because of their simple controls that can be easily bound int #easily bound into any controller might suit the player's needs best #while offering an experience that is exactly as challenging as the player chooses

What's your favorite order to kill the Heralds in and why? <3

I don’t really have a favorite order, simply because I wish I could have not killed them 😅 In my first playthrough, I did John-Faith-Jacob, and in my second, Jacob-Faith-John, but I still started with the Holland Valley. I only went to the church for my Atonement when there was nothing left to do in the county.

That said, I think that what the game wants us to do is either Jacob-John-Faith (because of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the Seven Seals) or John-Jacob-Faith.

Dutch says to go to Fall’s End first because it’s the heart of the Resistance, and Holland Valley is also the mildest region since you mostly deal with regular cultists, not super soldiers and mind-controlled wolves or hallucinations and Angels everywhere. I kind of regret going to the Henbane River so early in my first playthrough because this region really took a toll on me. The Whitetails Mountains felt less intense in comparison.

In a way, John is the least powerful Herald and the easiest to take down (as frustrating as that dogfight can be) and, from what I understand, anyone who joins the Project has to meet The Baptist first, so I think it makes sense for the Deputy to do the same. After Jacob’s death, Wheaty motivates the Whitetails to end Eden’s Gate, but in my opinion, his speech implies that the fight against the cult is far from over, so killing The Soldier last seems a bit weird. Then, while her brothers each take only one Deputy, Faith captures two people, one of them being the Sheriff who, when she’s been defeated, says it’s time to go after Joseph, so taking down The Siren last feels right to me.

Also, in the Holland Valley, no major Resistance member dies, but in the Whitetail Mountains, one person is killed (Eli), and in the Henbane River, the Deputy loses two allies (Virgil and Burke), so if you play the regions in this order, things get more and more violent as you progress. And if you do John-Jacob-Faith, Joseph’s eulogies also get increasingly sad: he doesn’t cry for John, cries a bit for Jacob, and cries a lot for the last family member (Faith in this case).

Anyway, I think Holland Valley-Whitetail Mountains-Henbane River is the most logical order. Then, it makes sense to me to do either John-Jacob-Faith (for gameplay reasons) or Jacob-John-Faith (because of the prophecy).

The fucking tanukis that can turn into the elemental dragons when they're alone? Fucking genius, I literally screamed the first time I saw it happen in the game.

But ofc because this is like a "send off game" kinda game, they had an excuse to just recycle a bunch of enemies from older games (and when I say older I mean EO3, the untolds and 5, so it's more of a send off to 3ds era EO than to the series as a whole) and whatever fun ideas do manage to show end up up being drowned on a sea of repeated mechanics you've already seen a dozen times if you played all EOs up to this point
