Loudclan was originally planned to be drawn as I played the game like most other clangen blogs... Then I got frustrated about how slow it was moving and played ahead. Just a little bit, nothing to worry about, only about 1000 moons. So this blog should be running for A WHILE. I also take pretty big liberties with the designs and events. I think it's more interesting that way! Also it's been several real life months since I started playing and some things I just... forgot. Or lost. Either way, it's fun to stretch my creative skills.

The style is going to vary wildly. It's been years since I've consistently drawn cats and I wasn't ever really happy with the way I did it back then anyway. Come along for the ride with me! I'm just as surprised by what my hands create as you guys!

Overview:

Loudclan is set in a fictional location that is based on South Central Alaska. A group of rogues fled up the mountains to get away from the deep snows of the valleys at the beginning of a particularly harsh winter. The clan follows three "Leaders" in the form of the Leader, the Lead Healer, and the Lead Mediator. These leaders will each pass their position on to their oldest heir, the closest related member of their direct family. Issues regarding what happens when two cats have similar claims have yet to be sorted out by the clan, and may never be fully decided... *insert mysterious foreshadowing sounds*

Oh yeeessss Aemond and his smart girl fighting like that. Consider: she makes him jealous because she wants to get fucked like that, and he knows but can't help himself. So not only is Aemond being extra mean because he's jealous, but he's also taunting her about how he knew this was her plan. Maturing is realising that Ayato is the Diaboy who shares the most qualities with Yui. 🤭

In Japan, blood type is a way more important indicator of someone’s personality than zodiac signs and if you search the 0 traits, you’ll see that they fit both Ayato and Yui perfectly: energetic, honest, easygoing, strong-willed, reliable and so on. Even the blood type is called 楽観主義 which means “optimism”.

I believe both of them are really mentally strong characters, which is one of the reasons why I love them. Another similarity is that they are both extremely empathetic and forgiving, to the point of appearing uhm… not so healthy anymore. I understand that those qualities are desirable, but there is a thin line between being compassionate or understanding and still trying to maintain good relations with people who who gave you such a hard time (as mentioned here in Ayato’s case).

I feel like the reason why they are so forgiving and empathetic is actually because they don’t want others to feel alone.

It is well known that as Yui grew older, Seiji became increasingly busy, making her spend a significant amount of time alone. Ayato used to play with his brothers until Cordelia tried to make an heir out of him, forcing him to spend his entire childhood alone in a room studying. Even the butler admitted in LE that he treated Ayato differently (in the negative way) than the others due to Cordelia's orders, but he eventually apologized to him.

You can see that throughout the routes there are a lot of times when Yui says "But if you do that, you will be alone…" or "I don't want to leave -inserts name- alone!". Ayato also seems to be like that, as he tells Laito in his LE route that no matter how much he despises him, he will always be there for him because he doesn't want him to struggle alone any longer. The same could be said about Kino's LE route because Ayato is the first person to recognize Kino as his brother because he realized he was Karl's abandoned son and wanted to make him feel like he belonged to the Sakamaki family too.

What I'm trying to say is that, while Ayato and Yui dislike being alone, they're not the "I need you because I'd be alone without you!" type, but rather "I'll be there for you because I don't want you to be alone anymore!" type. In some ways, they are projecting their fears onto others, but in this case, it is simply because they care too much.

They're also the only characters Laito wanted to see suffer because, in his eyes, they are the ultimate good people. The way Yui continued to be kind to him and resist in HDB only made Laito want to break her even more, and he also admitted hating Ayato for being honest and pure-hearted, and mentioned hoping to see him suffer. He did and said such things because he believes that if Cordelia hadn't defiled him, he would have been the same, and this is what hurts him the most.

Something I like so much about Ayato and Yui is how neither of them is afraid to confront or even disagree with Karlheinz; Yui's "I'll be the one to decide my life and future." (DF) and Ayato's "I don't need your powers, I choose my own destiny." (CL) are two of the most powerful phrases ever spoken in Diabolik Lovers because this demonstrates that they will not allow themselves to be controlled by Karlheinz or by anyone. Both of them may be dumb at times, but being badass can take many forms; it isn't just about fighting an enemy or devising elaborate plans.

Last but not least, they both believe in Santa Claus and that’s the cutest thing ever! I mean, if vampires exist in the DL universe, why wouldn’t Santa Claus exist too? xD

I am aware that both Ayato and Yui can be too silly and childish at times, but keep in mind that they are supposed to represent teenagers, so I believe people should be less judgmental here. ^^”

A fanfic idea I'd like to dedicate to you

I wanted to share this idea I have with you because I saw that beautiful animation you made of your OC Rubee and Wally with that scene of the Hunt vs Hunted AU that nonomives made and the other AUs incorporated in it. I'm actually currently writing a fanfic inspired by that AU with plans to dedicate it to nonomives (with their permission), and I just absolutely live for the angst and redemption arcs. Your incredible art really gave me the inspiration I needed to start working on it.

I'm actually in my lovers-turned-enemies trope right now, and my mind began racing with just this concept of (what if) Rubee actually surviving the Hunt vs Hunted scenario and was accidentally turned, but somehow the effect was so diluted it didn't necessarily destroy her mind and make her feral, but instead caused her to slowly start losing her mind, where any memories of Wally were tampered with or discarded and whatever horrors she might have witnessed were misplaced onto Wally?

(Because in reality, he'd never actually hurt her, she just convinced herself he did because there's so many pieces missing in her brain she had to just fill them in herself. And then there's the assumption Wally accidentally committed genocide as a response to his grief of losing Rubee, therefore, she's more convinced that he just has to be evil. She obviously doesn't know the true reason, only knowing that he had harmed a lot of people) (I'm thinking this affliction could potentially turn her immortal, or at least, very difficult to kill and inhumanely strong; but she could probably still get hurt).

Because of this, any positive feelings for him were replaced with disgust and hatred, where she felt her only response is to pretty much destroy him so he didn't hurt anyone else. But, it's conflicting because deep inside her soul she's hesitant, scared, and longing for the security/safety he provided her in the past, before she lost her memories /and before he thought she was dead/. 

Anyway, there was a scene playing in my mind where she managed to get to him, like, actions set in motion just ready to pierce his heart. And Wally's just looking up at her, not really fighting back, but holding her off, eyes just pitiful and sad and desperate; because "How is she alive-?".

He's in disbelief, emotions torn between sadness, anger, and overwhelming love. And she's trying to kill him, not realizing that she's crying and struggling to actually finish him off. Because, yes, she has to kill him so no one suffers like she did--but also, no, because that part of her that 'died' that night still clings to hope and love. 

I think Wally would immediately know that she's affected by his blood, since according to nonomives, people who are closer to Wally's blood go insane and feral, depending on the level of potency the person was dosed with. I really like this concept, because that could potentially lead to the rarest opportunity where someone hasn't been completely overcome by his affliction. Maybe Rubee was just extremely strong willed in mind and spirit, so her body (could have) managed to refrain from completely turning into a vampire zombie? That tiny, sliver of hope motivates Wally to figure out some sort of 'cure' for Rubee, but we have no idea what the implications of that would do.

(Could she die due to having lived so long and just turn into dust? Would she end up suffering from the pain and physical damage she's received all these years, finally catching up to her? Is there the chance she'll just return back to him? We don't really know. Too many endings, no solid answers.)

I was just reminded this on Reddit but what do you think of the Cassian-Nesta-Eris dynamic in chapter 62 of acosf? I find it so distasteful. But besides that, I don’t see any sort of relationship building between Nesta and Eris in the future. Nesta and Eris are parallels of one another and she (and cassian) played him too much in that chapter. I don’t know if you talked about it before, but what do you think of it?

So I had to go back and read that chapter cause I didn’t even remember what happened 😅 but I will discuss under the read more ❤️ note these are just my opinions.

First of all. The love angle that was supposed to be Cassian Nesta Eris was so underdeveloped. One of my complaints was we didn’t get a real love angle but more of a one sided weird situation. When I tried to go off canon and make an AU I couldn’t. After dancing with Eris in Hewn City she’s grinning and smiling with Cassian.

I have a lot of complaints about how I felt the book was pretty much like Sarah wrote scenes individually and then stuck them together. I say that because so much happened in Ch. 62 I got whiplash reading it.

Cassian was end game so I agree it wasn’t set up for anything else to be between her and Eris unless it gets reconned or situations happen that require putting them in the same room.

But I don’t think it was distasteful how they acted because there wasn’t substance for them (neris) to begin with. It was a throw away plot point that didn’t get fleshed out. Cassian cutting down Eris in that chapter wasn’t shocking to me. Mostly cause Eris constantly lets his prejudices show. Don’t dish it if you can’t take it.

As for the part about him asking if she considered his offer, this is where headcanon comes in and some canon mixed. Eris doesn’t come off as someone who plans to marry for love. He’s going to marry for his court and for power. Nesta has power. My headcanon was he seen that the night court was deliberately flaunting her so he played along. His role was to ask for her hand. He knew that. Maybe he did hope arrogantly that Rhys was dumb enough to let her go.

In that scene when he said his offer was genuine. He reads to me as envisioning Nesta being a power house and he (rightfully in terms of what he sees) thinks that the night court will not use her or worse will use her for their gain. It’s a “think of what we could do together with our power” situation. I also think he’s butt hurt she rejected him. He is vain.

Idk about him and Nesta being parallels. But I’m also tired (it’s night here rn and I had a long day)

So. To summarize I don’t think they played him too much but more it was Sarah making a point and she wasted everyone’s time.

Chapter Three

You trudged over the dirt-covered ground, a scowl on your face. The Clave once again, decided to pull your desire from you right as you had gotten relief they gave you one last mission to do in Japan before you left. All that ran through your tired mind was home, and you were getting sick of being treated this way like you were a mere casualty. At least it was an easier mission, killing a Bakemono. However, these demons were good at hiding and running. You will have to pay close attention when fighting.

You had used the medical supplies to bandage your puncture wound from the demon you had faced about two hours ago, but it stung to high hell. It would be a pain to fight with, that's for sure. The small snack you had purchased hadn’t made you any less starved, in fact, it only made you more aware of your weakness due to malnourishment. When you finally arrived back home, you planned to eat as much home-cooked food as you wished. You craved to taste something fresh again, and warm bread with pasta salad…

You shook off the want for food and rest, you didn’t have that time, you would instead allow it when you stepped foot on the stone-paved sidewalks of your home. You marched forward, your back straight and a warrior-worthy expression on your face. You looked around the dark forest, checking for any sign the monster had passed through these woods. Your eyes caught the scratches left behind by claw marks on the trees, and the dripping of demon blood that left burning holes in the leaves scattered across the ground.

Seeing this, you picked up your pace, determined to find the demon and slay it. You found yourself running fast, feeling the cold air fill your lungs as the night wind nipped your face. Somehow, your thoughts trailed back to the man at the gas station, you had still wondered if you made the right decision. Something told you no matter what you did, it wouldn't have mattered. However, you got the sinking feeling that your choices might just be more important from now on. You should start choosing carefully. You slammed your boots into the ground with such fury until you approached a gate.

This gate was made of rot iron, and a glorious mansion was set behind it. You wrapped your hand around one of the bars, cursing yourself for being so dumb. Of course, the demon sought out a place where it could hide in small nooks and crannies, it would be much harder to find now. You looked up, checking to see if you could jump over the gate from its lowest point, but these were rich people, after all, they wouldn’t want anyone breaking in. So you would have to trespass on this property to execute this demon.

You quickly sheathed your angel blade and grasped onto the iron, pulling yourself up the gate. The action took the little stamina you had left quickly, you had to gasp for breath when you finally dropped to the ground on the other side. You felt so weak, you were beaten up pretty badly. You said a silent prayer to the angels, worried the little strength you had left wasn’t going to be enough to slay the demon.

Your boots were louder than they should have been for a stealth mission, the Soundless runes you had carved into the soles when you had a stele were finally wearing off. It would make it very hard to sneak up on the monster. They clanged against the pavement as you walked down the pathway, on either side, beautiful white roses grew in the bushes. You stopped for a moment to admire them and catch your breath better, brushing your hand against the soft petals and capturing the watery dew that rested on them. Someone here took very good care of them and payed attention to their needs.

You heard a noise behind you, it, however, wasn’t the sound of a demon. It sounded like a person. You glanced behind you, catching the eye of the source of the noise.

A man stood there, he was shorter than you, but not by too much, maybe six inches-you were wearing two-inch heels though. Although he had a child-like look to him, he seemed about your age. Nineteen, or maybe younger. He had soft purple hair that could put the shame the hue of lavender and matching amethyst eyes that looked almost like a sea of chaos, ever-changing. Under those gorgeous eyes, were very dark bags, like he hadn’t slept in weeks, just like yourself. He was dressed nicely, in a school outfit that was well put together, unlike the man who you encountered at the gas station. He was grasping onto a stuffed bear with an eyepatch. This boy had a neutral expression on his face, but you could see something else there that you couldn’t quite read.

He spoke in Japanese at first, but when he saw the confused expression on your face, he switched to English. “You smell quite good.” He muttered, his eyes boring into you almost like how the other man you had met's eyes did to you before. His accent was still thick when he spoke in English, just like Ayato. However, this boy gave you a slightly different energy. He looked down at the teddy bear in his arms. “Right Teddy? She’s pretty too, prettier than Yui-chan. She looks like a doll already.” You were caught off guard for a quick moment, you had been called hot before, mostly by suitors you used to ignore in Idris when you were going through your training. Shadowhunters were courted fairly young since most only lived to thirty due to how dangerous their lives were. You had never, in your nineteen years of life, been called beautiful though. It made you feel feminine, which you strangely liked. But again, you felt something was off about this boy, the same feeling you had when you encountered the green-eyed man. He paced closer to you, very close, almost too close for your comfort, he held onto Teddy with one hand as he brushed your messy, curly hair out of your face. “You’ll be a wonderful doll. What’s your name, my doll?”

Somehow, all thoughts of your mission left your head, you felt captivated. There was a connection here, something that made you crave his touch. “(Y/N). And yours?” You answered. The short man’s eyes sparked something.

That name rang a subtle bell in your mind, but you couldn’t put your finger on it, not that you wanted to right now. Maybe you had met a Kanato in the past? You had rubbed elbows with lots of different people, due to you being an assassin for The Clave. “Nice to meet you, Kanato.”

“A pleasure.” This boy spoke very elegantly, you couldn’t help but be interested, but you quickly remembered what you were here to do and snapped out of your trance.

You blinked, looking around the outside to see if you could catch a shadow of the demon moving to another hiding place. “Uh, I have to go, Kanato. I’m hunting something.”

Suddenly, his entire demeanor changed. His soft eyes became hard in the blink of an eye, and his mouth twisted into a scowl. You flinched, seeing the sudden change shocked you. “You will not be leaving, doll. You are mine now.” Kanato grasped onto your wrist tightly, with apparent rage, catching a glance at the back of your palm, where you had a Protection rune, one you have had since your birth ceremony. His features twisted once again, this time into a sadistic smile. 

“Now I understand why your blood smells as good as it does, you’re a Nephilim. Fufu~ I’ve always wanted to taste Nephilim blood, angels must taste so very sweet. One puncture scar on your skin won’t be as bad, right Teddy?”

Kanato bared his fangs, they gleamed menacingly under the moonlight. You gasped in surprise and horror, realizing he was a vampire. You yanked your wrist out of his grasp, taking steps back defensively. “Back off, bloodsucker.” You threatened as you pulled your angel blade out of its sheath and pointed it at his throat. Kanato glared at you, you felt the intensity coming from his stare. 

“Don’t call me that! You are weaker than vampires so you must treat me with respect!” Kanato yelled. You surprisingly had to stifle a laugh, he looked so much like a child at that moment. The purple-haired boy noticed and gave you another deadly look. “I wouldn’t laugh, Shadowhunter."

You pushed the tip of her blade against his throat harshly. “You may be a vampire, but I’ve killed many of you mosquitoes in the past. I can easily slit your throat.” 

You pressed the tip against his Adam's apple, but Kanato was unfazed. “I'll drain your blood until your skin is white, have you watch me drink it, then sew that mouth of yours shut, doll.”

Suddenly, he sprang at you, his fangs out and ready to pierce your skin. You dodged him quickly, and while doing that, you tripped him over. Kanato fell flat on his face, the stuffed bear shielding his ribs from the hard concrete. He growled and started to push himself up with one arm, but you kicked him hard in the ribs.  The lavender-eyed man gasped and crashed against the ground again. You kept him down with your high-heeled boot, pressing it firmly against his back.

“Don’t try to get up.” You said with grit teeth while putting away your blade.

Kanato turned his head, looking furious, but he wasn't looking at you. He spat something in Japanese, angrily. You scrunched up your face, confused as to who he directed that to, but as you turned your head, you saw a man.

He was also insanely attractive. With hair as white as a Shadowhunter Mourning outfit and striking red eyes that seemed to be home to violence itself. He was an inch or two shorter than you, but again, you were wearing heels. He was probably taller than you by an inch while you were barefoot.

You didn't have very much time to look at him, because as soon as you turned, you were punched in the face. Your eyes fluttered closed and she dropped to the ground, falling into the darkness.

Why is he just doing better now I don't think we ever actually covered that in season 2

Awww poor Nina-8 :( Hmm what plan is Nikki-4 talking about, I don't remember much after the Paradisia tournament. I do like the conflict between the two, they may be twins but Nina-8 has a much softer personality than Nikki-4. And with her not being on the team until D'jok left, I wonder if she was already trying to distance herself from them a bit and try to live her own life. Which is pretty symbolic for an identical twin.

Well Mark's love drama has more potential than the love triangles they were doing until now, if only they'd given it more screentime and development

Hush Sharky is kind of underreacting for a journalist who just found out a galaxy-class footballer and his coach are in cahoots with the leader of the pirates

Again, the budget of this show might be low, but they actually have quite a lot of locations and the background art is always really good.

Sonny taking his mask off on Paradisia because he saw some plants sfjkdfssf that was unnecessary, he's so extra! And they're lucky the weather conditions are still perfectly fine for humans.

Stevens top scorer in the cup!! It might seem strange with him not having a flux, but it seems reasonable to me considering the Pirate's style of play. They always score at least one goal in their games, and he's pretty much always the one who does it. For other teams, the goal scoring is a bit more shared between different players. Plus it's still early in the cup.

KING. I LOVE THIS INTERACTION. Stevens keeping it real even before the Technoids showed up, I'll say we've had some good Pirates moments this season

D'jok seems to be perfectly back to normal and on friendly terms with the others as if nothing happened. Compare to season 2 where Rocket's Netherball stint had consequences and his return was not so smooth!

Ahito you couldn't think of a better excuse for Thran leaving? 😂 I do feel like we could have had a better reason in the story for Thran ending up with the Pirates, it IS a bit weird that he says he has to go on a mission with them but he doesn't actually have a reason to, and this is before the SEMI-FINAL. That's a bit too important to be sneaking off because... you just want to?

Oh I really love this interaction between D'jok and Luur before kickoff – no intimidation dance from the Xenons, just a meaningful handshake between a guy who almost plummeted to his death last season, and the player that saved him. Idk if the writers were intentional with this but if so, it's a really nice example of subtle writing and events of the previous season carrying over.

Wait yeah the Pirates aren't back yet! In which case, Aarch is pretty chill for a coach who is missing a player for A SEMI-FINAL MATCH. Eh I guess at this point he's just given up with these kids

Oh damn Brim Simbra actually died, I like that they went through with that so the explosion on Paradisia had consequences. Could have also opened up some interesting avenues with the new flux society leader in season 4 – maybe he'd want to do things differently?

But it's also kind of hilarious that Brim Simbra's very last action as flux society leader... was to delegate the galaxy saving to Sonny Blackbones yet again LOL

Hi uh I decided to start a ROTTMNT fanfic ;w;

So it kinda started out as just random “what if” scenarios of me and the turtles interacting but then got out of hand when I officially started developing my self insert character a bit more and giving them a backstory and creating an overarching narrative, blah blah blah. And then it just got more set in stone when I ended up actually writing an entire chapter and having way too much fun doing it. I wasn’t sure whether or not to announce this now or later when the chapters actually start going up on AO3 but I got too giddy to just not say anything so here we are :D

Introducing my dumb little rise fanfic: Moths Fly in Packs!

So this story is meant to take place a few months after the movie events. In my head canon, the movie takes place in August 2020 and the story starts March 2021. I’m not sure how long it’s gonna be yet but I know for sure it’ll cover a few years of their lives since I want the dynamics to seem believable and not hilariously rushed

SO! I actually had two versions of this story planned out. One is just continuing the Rise series in general with the turtles being the main characters and this fanfic’s MC being more on the level of April or Casey. That whole stuff I wanted to save for a future comic series if I ever get to it with a more similar tone to the show. The fanfic is showing that story from MC’s perspective, having them be the main character and following the events of her life with the turtles and the tone being SLIGHTLY darker than the main show. It doesn’t feel too different though since I think the show kinda already nailed the blend of fun and trauma that I love, just increased the trauma a teensy bit. Oh also cursing I guess

LOOK AT MY DARLING BASKING IN ALL HER GLORY! She’s half Japanese half Bengali and is actually (unknowing to her) part luna moth Yōkai and I’m not gonna talk more about that as it would spoil parts of the story. She’s the same age as Mikey, both 16 in the story, and yes this is gonna be some turtle x oc shipping since I’m a simp for Leo and I’m not wasting an opportunity to create a fictional relationship with him <3 Aside from that, Salena is sweet, spunky, and chaotic, wonderfully fitting in with the rest of the gang. Of course, she has her dose of trauma and baggage too since it wouldn’t be a rise fanfic without that! Their weapons are mystic sickles and their powers are still in the works

For any of my fellow character design nerds: I tried putting some luna moth elements into her design. Her color palette is inspired by the green, pink, and yellow palette of luna moths and the spots on her sickles are meant to resemble the spots on their wings. They’ve got gold earrings in the shape of feathers to emulate the cute fuzzy antennas on luna moths. The bag isn’t related to moths, it’ll get explained in the story it’s a pretty sweet moment I don’t wanna spoil. There’s probably more but I’m forgetting that right now ANYWHO

Um yea I think that’s everything? Apologies if I sounded like an awkward dork, it’s because I am and still not used to posting on tumbler. I’m really excited to share this story since I think it’s a lot of fun and just a really sweet found family story. It’s kind of my little comfort fanfic as a lot of the original characters are inspired by people I knew in my life and a lot of the events are a mix of things I struggled with and the potential life I would’ve had if certain events ended more tragically than they actually did. I struggle with feeling lonely a lot and this story lets me breathe in another universe as a character who eventually finds their true family despite the things they’ve been through. A family that accepts them for who they are, weird quirks and all. It’s a wholesome ride and I can’t wait to share it with y’all

+ Rosita is from a big family, though she tends not to speak much about them because she gets sad quickly. She has often mentioned her abuelita and abuelito. And her childhood friend/crush, Isabela.

+ She's not the smartest, actually she's quite dense when it come to anything academic, which often lead to her planning study groups with anyone that wants to join. (she ends up getting distracted or falling asleep way to quickly)

+ Rosa was actually in the process of applying to various colleges before she got transported. So to say she was angry about having to start over is an understatement.

+ She ranges from being a student to a teacher aid. She's often helping Crewel and Trein with grading papers and around the classroom. Every Thurday and Tuesday afternoon, she can be found in Crowley's office helping out with his work. She sucks at physical activity, so she doesn't really help Vargas.

+ Sam gave Rosita a part-time job at his shop! She works pretty often, but her schedule is inconsistant.

+ On her first day at Ramshackle, she became quick friends with the ghosts! They're besties.

+ She and Rook are actually good friends. Rosa finds him amusing and finds herself having a ton of fun with him. She and Rook often go on long rants about beauty or their current hyper-fixations. She feels heard when she's with him.

+ She's also super confortable with Malleus. Their first encounter was extremely embarrassing on her part, she cringes everytime. But they grow really close. They often get lost in converstions and can be seen reading together.

+ The first years adore her and she adores them! They remind her of her little siblings, so she often goes big sister mode, especially during overblots.

Hi, anon! Sorry it took me a while to answer, I had to try a couple times to make sense of this particular AU, haha.

Is there a fic concept you have that you'd like to just explain and share because you're not sure you'll ever write it? If so, what is it?

Maybe I’m being overly optimistic but I still have hope I’ll be able to share ALL of my current WIPs eventually, lol. The only one I don’t actually think I’ll end up writing, and I’ve talked about it on here before, is my Genie AU, which was a mix of canon and AU where Barry is still the Flash but Len is a genie. Putting this under a read more because it got a bit long.

The idea originally came to me because I love genie/djinn lore but I’m not a huge fan of ‘The master falls in love with the genie and in the end he sets them free’ because IMO it doesn’t matter if your masters are kind or cruel, they’re still trying to master you. So I knew I wanted Barry to break Len free of the lamp in the very beginning, without giving in to the temptation of making any wishes, just because it’s the right thing to do, or maybe even because this is a Barry who went through a version of Flashpoint and is wary of whatever alteration of reality Len is offering. Meanwhile, Len is the one who is wary of freedom and doesn’t see why his purpose in life has to be ruined just because Barry doesn’t have any self-control. But we know how stubborn Barry can be when he genuinely thinks he’s doing the right thing so he frees Len from the lamp and *that* is when things turn to shit, lol. Len immediately starts decaying and comes to Barry being basically like, you broke it you buy it. Fix it or I’ll burn your house down with your family inside. So much for trying to do the right thing.

So yeah, the first part of the fic would be Len being pretty much the world’s worst house guest and trying to understand how the human world works now that he has to live in it full time thanks to SOMEONE, while Barry and his team (which in this fic was going to be Caitlin, Cisco and Hartley, with Hartmon as a side pairing because Cisco got tricked into making a wish before the lamp was destroyed and now he and Hartley have a baby and must raise it despite very much hating the sight each other, or do they) try to get information on the lamp, and the curse, and djinns, and try to unearth the mystery of Len’s origins. And of course during that time forced into close quarters Len and Barry were gonna fall in love^^ Not that they’d ever admit to it, especially not Len. There would be tropes galore, such as being forced to take care of Cisco and Hartley’s dumb baby together, or Barry teaching Len to read, but that one was gonna be a slooooow burn, mostly because I had plans for this version of Len to be somewhere on the asexual spectrum? Or at least it was gonna be strongly implied because humans were always just kinda there to him, and in any case he wouldn’t sleep with someone who kept him in a lamp when they weren’t using him.

I had plans to insert a bunch of references to Len’s canon appearances, including the fact that Barry would’ve found the lamp during a robbery of the Kahndaq Dynasty expo at the Central City museum, and Len was going to blackmail him into forging a new identity for him (as opposed to destroying his records like on the show). So, Leonard Snart was going to be his fake human name, although most characters just referred to him as Cold. Cold was literally constantly scheming in the first half of the fic and one of those schemes was gonna get Joe killed and force Cold into taking responsibility and sacrifice himself to bring Joe back. And that was gonna be the end of Part 1 because. Pain.

Part 2 was gonna start after a time jump and Barry still having no idea that Len is dead because, again. Pain. He thinks Len just took off, even though he promised him he wouldn’t leave. Joe never told Barry the truth because Joe never tells his kids the important things (yes, I’m still salty he told Iris her mother was dead, why do you ask). Meanwhile, Len has been sulking in the afterlife for four mortal years and the only people he’s got to talk to are some of his former Masters (namely Lisa and Ray) and Death (Sara, of course, who else), who he eventually tries to make a deal with: Undo the spell. She can have Joe West back. So Death is like, well, okay, that was dark even for you but if you really want to go through with this, do it yourself because I’m not going to do some insignificant mortal’s dirty work, I’ll give you one day because you entertain me. And Len sets out to do just that but of course he can’t, because once he’s back on Earth he immediately runs into Iris and tries to use her to get to her father but the thing is that Len/Cold HAS changed during the time he spent with Barry. He never meant to, but he did. So he basically just tells Joe to have a nice life and resigns himself to leave and go back to his little corner of eternity.

But not before Barry sees him.

And then—well admittedly I hadn’t really written too much past that point, haha, but I’m sure you can guess that Barry is furious with Joe and finds a way to go to the afterlife to get Len back, and I guess it turns into the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice for a while, although I would never give my boys an unhappy ending so I did plan for the fic to have a happy ending and have Len and Barry leave the afterlife together. However, it was by that point that I realized this would take waaay too many chapters and way too much worldbuilding to write this story in a satisfying manner so I got discouraged and gave up XD But yeah, that was basically the whole plan for this giant project that will probably never happen, although I guess you never know!

It’s easy to think every single thing is part of a conspiracy but it’s not usually true. Olivia and Harry are a big tabloid target now, so all the tabloids are going to be coming up with their own angle to get clicks. Every single celeb couple regularly has engagement rumours. US started it and then the even lower level tabloids piled on. DM obviously checked if Harry was confirmed to attend and when he wasn’t, they ran with it. If he doesn’t go, he will look like a dickhead though. He’ll look like he’s abandoning Olivia and also the project. Is she going to sit at the press conference by herself? Just her and Chris? Can’t see the studio loving that. And I feel badly for the crew who worked hard on the project only for its director (and Harry) to make it look asinine.

It's clear they're trying to handle this bc they would've been absolutely insufferable with holivia and Olivia inserting herself in every single press piece. But now they've pulled back due to the backlash, and she's not playing the leading role of 'Harry Styles' adoring girlfriend who watches her bf every night on tour' - you know every Harry fan's dream! Anyways, I digress. What I mean is, she would've been on tour with him and doing pap walks, and they would've released even more interviews and articles about her/him/dwd had it not been for the RS backlash. So they're "laying low" until the controversy blows over.

But the point of my post and what I said was pretty much that this is all just bs drama to drum up more press and interest in her and DWD. Ofc some of it is just trashy tabloids jumping on the 'hot topic of the moment', but a lot of it is also what they've pushed to go ahead. Haven't you noticed how in all of this drama there has been very little targeted towards Harry? Nothing about him "cheating with Olivia". They mention it, sure, but they're not making it into a scene. Tabloids would love to use any and all scandals for their own profit, and yet they're not using this. This would make it even more dramatic. And there's no mention of Harry's situation or anything in regards to the drama. Just a ton for Florence, Olivia and Shia. That's in part bc Harry hasn't commented, but also bc they have a tight grip on the narratives they let out there. Harry's image is that of a sweetheart so they can't very well have endless tabloids about him being an outright asshole. And they do control that.

I'm not sure about Daily Mail checking, bc The Hollywood Reporter actually said H was confirmed to attend. So like I said, they're just creating more drama so people tune in to the event and they get more clicks.

Once that's over they'll surely release a new wave of drama until the movie is out. Or use whatever dumb ass arguments come out of Olivia's mouth during her interviews.

I agree H would not look good if he pulled out of the festival last minute. I just worry what they'll do once there. Obviously everyone is expecting him and Olivia to have their big "red carpet couple debut". Hopefully this recent wave of backlash slashed those plans. They should not do that. They should absolutely not have them together and put H with Florence - who plays his character's wife. That's what would make the most sense. Now if Flo is actually backing out of press, then put him with Gemma and Olivia with Chris, bc isn't he her husband in the film? Or am I mixing it up? Whatever. The point is, any sane team would not want on set romances in their movie press tour. It's about the characters not the actors. Except Olivia has made damn well sure this movie is about Olivia Wilde and her life. "The Victory Project" de damned.

Amairin AU wip pasted from my notes

in which Amaimon and Rin are soulmates and the princes and Lucifer know about it but Rin doesn't. Therefore, Mephisto's playing matchmaker and trying to get Amaimon to play with Rin.

This is non traditional abo, demons are either submissive or dominant. They are all born one or the other and this decides what role they play in a mating/marriage as far as procreation goes. Soulmates are a rare occurrence in mid and low level demons and uncommon in higher level ones so they simply choose their mates for the most part but soulmates are definite for Princes/Kings of Gehenna.

Note/context for later: Through this, Bon and Rin are hinted to be crushing on one another. Rin had initially thought he was cool and wanted to talk to him but was turned off for a while by his shitty personality ofc. He’s still Rin so he still attempted to be civil (but Bon’s always starting shit) and he cares for everyone, no matter how shitty, so he still saved him from the leaper. After they made up, Rin absolutely went back to fawning over him and trying to insert himself into their friend group as he does in canon cause he’s cute. Bon absolutely got a crush on Rin after Rin jumped into the mouth of a demon without thinking like the fearless idiot he is and then turned around and yelled in his face that, not only did he take Bon’s aspirations seriously but that he has the same one and was going to fight him about it. Shima and Koneko picked up on this pretty quickly of course and this led to them encouraging Rin’s antics and inviting him into their group in every way they could like in canon. In between the moments summarized in this doc, there’s definitely romantic moments between the two in which they’re absolutely fascinated with the other person, though that’s not much different from canon either. 

As far as romance with Shiemi, it follows the manga more and paints them platonically. Rin didn’t know exactly whether he liked girls or not but he did sense that Yukio liked Shiemi and she basically immediately was friendzoned in his mind bc he’s not about to steal his brothers one and only love interest he’s ever seen thus far. 

Originally, Amaimon didn't know but was told during the first meeting with Mephisto. He had suspected and, rather than in canon, he had hesitated to ask if Rin was his mate. Mephisto confirmed and took Amaimon asking as a hint of interest, which he interpreted as an invitation to set them up cause he's Mephisto.

Amaimon suspected this because the kings of Gehenna are all mated to one another. The unmated ones that remained were Mephisto and Amaimon and Mephisto had laid no claim on Rin.

It's worth mentioning that from this point on, Mephisto wished to use Amaimon as a pawn in his plan. He knew he could control Amaimon and since Amai was the dominant mate, he could control Rin further in return.

At the second appearance, when Amaimon is watching Rin tame Kuro, he expresses that he'd like to play with Rin to assess his ability as a mate. With demons, a big part of the mating ritual is to fight their mate and test their strength, to decide whether they are worthy. This is not really needed for soulmates but for traditions' sake, soulmates tend to still participate. In Amaimon's case, there was the added fact that he only intended to claim Rin if Rin proved worthy, soulmates or not.

Amaimon then decided to get his curiosity of Japan out cause it had been killing him and he wished to learn a bit more about the culture Rin grew up in. He wished to study it to possibly understand Rin better and analyze him accordingly when they meet, as Mephisto had warned him that Rin had not experienced any kind of demon culture or education in his life and was rather dumb to the subject. 

Once he'd finally finished his spree and laid his collection out in Mephisto's office, he immediately asked to go play with Rin as he thought he was now ready. When he got to the amusement park, he'd watched with irritation and little patience as Rin floundered around a human girl, but chose to follow Mephisto's orders and wait to get him alone. He was curious about the fact that he couldn't smell Rin's demonic aura, the only way he'd detect if he was, in fact, his mate. He wondered idly if Mephisto was only mistaken and if Rin had actually inherited the demon mating hierarchy or not. He realized once he opened the Koma sword that Rin was, in fact, the most amazing thing he'd ever smelled in his life and that his demon heart was sealed inside the sword, along with his submissive status. Rin on the other hand, could smell something about Amaimon that was gnawing at him but without the context of why, he mostly continued as he would if anyone were fighting him like that.

He kicked Rin around for a bit and was let down, his interest waning despite his instincts screaming at him. He started to get angry at the situation and this pushed him to break Mephisto's rules. Again, soulmate or not, he didn't want a weak mate. His interest came back tenfold when Rin had finally started to fight back, meaning his irritation was far greater when Rin had saved Shiemi and calmed his emotions again. He wished to rile Rin up once more and see his beautiful flames again but Shura interrupted. In the end, he had decided to back down and continue their fight in a more suitable time and place. 

Shura takes Rin to the base and Mephisto is pleased when he can smell the territorial scent marking from Amai left all over Rin and the Koma sword. He chose not to reveal the purpose of Amaimon’s visit to anyone just yet of course, but couldn’t help but feel a bit giddy at the imposing scent of possessiveness and lust that clouded Rin’s true scent. It was overpowering since Rin’s true scent was sealed in the sword at the time so he couldn’t help but laugh and subtly cover his nose at the ridiculousness of it in the moment. 

Afterwards, Rin had idly mentioned to Kuro that Amaimon had wanted to "play" and that he'd had a sick version of playing that meant fighting. Kuro cleared up that fighting is playing for demons, pointing out that Rin himself gets excited during fights and Rin realizes he had initially been excited to fight Amaimon. This is what led to the scene on the roof in which Rin and Kuro play together. 

Alternatively, following the manga, Rin couldn’t sleep because he felt feverish and restless and wanted to take Kuro to play to let out some of his nervous energy. He figured it was emotional strain. While he’s talking with Kuro and Kuro asks to play, it reminds him of Amaimon saying he wanted to play earlier and he mentions that it was really weird to him. Kuro then tells him it’s very common for demons to fight one another as play, the way wild animals will play-fight to train their bodies in a fun way while they have free time. 

On the note of Rin being tired and sleeping through half of the next day, it wasn’t actually all due to them playing all night but late that night and into the next day, Rin had run a pretty high fever that left him a little queasy. This was why he started feeling restless and nervous at first when he originally got up and went to the roof with Kuro. While they were playing, his energy was sapped pretty quickly and he felt drowsy and hot and had gone back to bed. He ended up sleeping all night and well into the day bc of it. This was part of the reason he actually fucked up once he got to Shura’s class but mostly cause the boy can’t read for shit. 

Between this scene and the next chapter, add in Mephisto and Amaimon one on one. Basically, Mephisto had gotten wind of Rin’s absence in the morning and made a hypothesis that, at about that time, Rin would be experiencing a ‘phantom heat’ after meeting his soulmate and not being marked right away. It was a common occurrence and while it goes away fairly quickly on its own, it would make Rin a bit drowsy and feverish for the next couple days and his body would let off pheromones akin to a true heat and distress in an attempt to draw his mate back to him. Basically, he’d been recounting this to Amaimon to remind Amaimon that, no matter how much he’d want to give into the scent throughout this duration, he’d have to stay put and wait for the next most opportune time to see Rin. Of course, Amaimon had already been throwing a bit of a fit about not being able to finish playing with Rin but he became more pissy in his own shithead way about not being able to go see Rin right away, even though he was able to smell his mate from across the campus already. 

Adding on, Shura had been so calm about his tardiness because Yukio had given her a heads up that he had a bad fever and really was so deeply asleep that he wasn’t waking up for anything that morning. Shura was suspicious and wondered what could cause it, since demons don’t get colds or anything, but with soulmates being such a rare thing in demon society, there’d be no way for her to understand what was happening to him. Even the most knowledgeable humans among the Vatican had no idea about soulmates, and really only vaguely about demon mating; that there were mating seasons every year and a half or so in Assiah and that reproduction was similar to a human’s. They’d simply assumed that this meant Gehenna was split into males and females (only sex wise, of course) the way Assiah was. 

He finally told Rin they were mates at the next fight on their camping trip. Before that though, when he was setting up to face Rin again, first of all he’d gone on a rampage that was probably more aggravated than it needed to be while ‘greeting the spirit of the forest’. Though Rin’s phantom heat had passed, Amaimon was quicker to tune into Rin’s human scent, which was disgustingly muddled with the other humans he’d been too close for comfort with. He’d been focusing on it quite hard, leading to him shutting down and ignoring Mephisto, who finally started to grow a bit worried that messing with soulmates may have been something too hard to control, even for the prodigal son himself. 

In the meantime, Amaimon grew irritated watching the students bring back the peg lantern. One, because Rin was in the center of his wretched group of humans. Two, because he them had to wade through the river of demon worms without his scent marking or mating mark that told them to keep their grubby little legs off of Rin. Lastly though, because the peg lantern itself reacted more to Rin than the girl as a submissive and chased after him as if the lowly demon could ever possibly deserve such a mate. His little shitfit aside, Mephisto kept him under control for the time being as he teemed with the anxious energy of a caged bear. The giant moth actually made to grab Rin at the end to retrieve him for Amai but the poor boy had to wait a bit longer cause Rin’s friend saved his ass. Once Rin’s finished his assignment Amaimon loses his patience and pops out on the forest to fuck shit up. 

He'd taken Shiemi hostage under the impression that Rin had a crush on her, taunting Rin with the whole marriage thing. Ofc Rin was just confused as hell and wanted Amai to put his best friend down. It wasn't til Amaimon was hit with the fireworks that he realized it was Bon, not Shiemi, that Rin was interested in. That's why he went for Bon instead of the one that actually laughed at him. Bon started yelling at Rin and ignoring Amaimon and ofc Amai was even more pissed off that this asshole had the audacity to not only go after Rin but to straight up ignore him, Rin’s true mate. Rin yelled to stop and as much as Amai wanted to kill Bon right there regardless, he saw Rin grab his sword and realized he was getting exactly what he’d wanted, a chance to complete the mating ritual and take Rin. 

Rin draws his sword, Bon realizes everything’s a lie, and Amaimon and Rin finally start their fight. Amaimon starts announcing the truth to Rin, about what they are to each other, that Amaimon found him truly worthy, proclaiming his flames were beautiful. Ofc Amaimon got excited again and they started to fight like in canon and lowkey he was getting excited in another way because in his eyes, they had started the most intense and beautiful mating ritual the world had ever seen while Rin just wanted him to die.  Amaimon grabbed a hold of him from behind and Marked his neck, making Rin panic and kick him, stabbing him and trying to burn him after. When Amaimon grabbed Rin’s tail, an emerald ring of some sort appeared fastened to the base of Rin’s tail. He’d screamed at the sharp pain of it and Mephisto had assumed it was simply because Rin had never had his tail tugged in such a violent way. It was only afterwards that Mephisto realized the true depth of the situation, which made things a lot harder for him. 

Once he was marked, Rin had been overtaken by a demon heat. Before Amaimon got ahead of himself and took Rin right then and there, Mephisto grabbed the two, thinking he could stop them there and use Amaimon as he planned. 

Then, Rin split the clock in search of his mate and Mephisto was like oh shit. When Rin is thrown into view of his classmates, he's lost to emotions and instincts. He still has no idea why he feels like shit, his mind is swimming and on attack mode and he's trying to slow his mind down. He attempted to run toward Yukio, grasping for protection and touch from someone he loves. Yukio goes to shoot him, Shiemi runs out like in canon and calms him down with a hug. His body reacts and calms down because she's registering as a friend and another submissive type, someone who won't put him in danger and only wants to help. (In demon culture, a close submissive friend is usually in charge of comforting and taking care of the submissive demon in heat between waves so that the dominant mate can recharge as well.) Once he was calm, the exhaustion hit him and he passed out, being dragged to court with the others.

Meph had genuinely meant to keep Amaimon contained, he locked him away and came to meet the others, then went to the court. When Rin started having his nightmare, Amaimon had felt the discomfort through their new bond and, already half feral with what had happened, he broke free and headed toward Rin in a rage. This is why he fucking destroyed everything and started yelling about being able to smell Rin. At this point, everything is fucked, Mephisto has lost control and has to rely on Rin being confused enough that he continues to fight Amaimon, or that Rin and Amaimon can escape to Gehenna fast enough that they don't get their asses kicked. 

The next part is planned but gets dirty so it’s upon request 👀

I know you write for yourself but do you ever ask your homies for feedback or advice on drafts or ideas?

oh yeah. that's just growing as a writer. i dont like, send drafts or anything, but i might ask for votes on an idea, or advice on something that's not working, or just talk through it with them to get there on my own. one of my friends has beta read for other people and another is a writer herself, so they can be a good resource when im having trouble, even if it's just sending a sentence and being like what is WRONG with the grammar here someone fix me LMAO. sometimes you get advice and then immediately realize what you actually want to do and it's not the advice you were given, but if it isn't what you were going to do before you asked someone, that's still helpful! it's not something i do that often because i like to just do my own thing, but it's definitely helpful when i do.

oh, thank you! it's something i have a lot of fun with. it's not something you can really do in any medium BUT fanfiction or like, a reboot, you know? so i really like to play around with it here. It's like, all my fanfictions are dozens of parallel universes revolving around the same characters and concepts, and i like seeing all the ways i can spin those out. i also just really like putting in references to canon. i always love when people pick up on a line i referenced or something.

you get it <3 ive loved how many people have gotten it because i was a little worried with this one people would be Unhappy with the direction so im glad i havent gotten any hate anons lmao. it has been so much fun to write and explore. on the sensory front, oh boyyyyy is this girl autistic. It's directly implied in chapter four, actually, though adora isn't formally diagnosed. and muscle tees are like. catnip on butches. it was made for them so like, good taste.

ohhhhh boy. what ISNT in the scene in LMR lol. I have never had a fic outlined like i did for this one. Like half the conversations came to me while i was lying in bed trying to fall asleep or wake up and i had all of that to work with (and tame) when i went to write.

I started working on it in late december and it's been my "bedtime story" for the most part since then, so a lot of the scenes played out there, which is where Scenes usually originate from. i had a really full outline from that. i had so many scenes that i had to cut and combine some that i really liked because they were just superfluous and would have dragged it down even if they were good on their own. or i had multiple versions of one conversation that i had to pick the best fit between, or when it came time to write it i had to buck the outline even though i liked what i already had because something else was a better match.

basically all of chapter 3 is A Scene. several scenes are in 4 and 5, too. i couldn't really pull just one thing but... god no i was trying to pick one and i cant. chapters 3-5 is my answer lmao. chapter 2 is the only thing i didnt have any Scenes for, that was basically just a hole labeled [insert smut here] while i was planning it, and chapter one was finished so early on that there's not really a Scene there, but nearly everything in chapter 3 onward is a contender for The Scene.

I actually love that Vane is Mr. "What's in it for Me?" and openly philosophically inclined to, like, the simplest and most tangible desires, because in any other show he would be SO easy to get on your side, but in THIS show everyone is a 10 year plan double or nothing idealist so the conversations go:

Edward Teach Meta - Remember Edward Hasn't Always Been a Muppet...

...and honestly he's still just mostly faking it.

I see a lot of posts about the whole dichotomy of Ed vs Blackbeard, and - because I live in the Izzy Hands tag for this show - a lot of it takes a very... simplistic (?) approach. Mostly along the lines of Ed is a traumatized real guy who just wants love and softness while Blackbeard is the violent persona he puts up because he thinks he has to (and Izzy makes the situation worse with a fixation on a fake person).

This... does not really make sense to me. For one, if we're going to acknowledge "Blackbeard" is a persona then we should probably acknowledge "Ed" is equally fake. The dichotomy is two wildly different masks, and the same real Edward is behind them both. And I want to talk about that guy.
