Random idea I just had: Ask ChatGPT to generate the script for a House of Anubis reunion movie... Here’s the result!
Title: House of Anubis Reunion
Fade in:
EXT. ANUBIS HOUSE - DAY
We see the famous Anubis House with its stunning architecture and lush greenery. A cab pulls up and out steps JEROME (played by Eugene Simon), looking dapper as ever.
Cut to:
INT. ANUBIS HOUSE - DAY
Jerome enters the house and is greeted by a chorus of familiar faces - PATRICIA (played by Jade Ramsey), ALFIE (played by Alex Sawyer), JOY (played by Klariza Clayton), MARA (played by Ana Mulvoy-Ten), and NINA (played by Nathalia Ramos). They all hug and catch up with each other, reminiscing about their old adventures and life at Anubis House.
Cut to:
INT. ANUBIS HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY
The group is gathered in the living room, chatting and laughing. Suddenly, the lights flicker, and a mysterious figure appears. It's VICTOR RODENMAAR JR. (played by Brad Kavanagh), who has returned to the house with a sinister plan.
Victor explains that he has discovered a powerful ancient artifact, but needs the help of the former residents of Anubis House to retrieve it. The artifact has the power to grant immense wealth and power, but at a terrible cost.
The group is torn between helping Victor or stopping him. They split up, with some members going to retrieve the artifact and others staying behind to prevent Victor from using it.
Cut to:
INT. ANUBIS HOUSE - DAY
The group faces numerous challenges and obstacles, both physical and mental, as they try to retrieve the artifact. Meanwhile, the members who stayed behind struggle to keep Victor from obtaining it.
In the end, the group must come together and use their combined skills and knowledge to stop Victor and prevent the artifact from falling into the wrong hands. They succeed and the artifact is destroyed, saving the world from certain doom.
Cut to:
INT. ANUBIS HOUSE - DAY
The group is gathered in the living room, exhausted but triumphant. They share a final meal together, and say goodbye as they go their separate ways.
Fade to black.
THE END.

Gotham’s (2014) Villains
I think people fail to acknowledge just how good of an adaptation Gotham is. Like it takes a lot of creative liberties with certain characters and their backstories. But I love how they portray the villains.
It’s probably one of my favorite Batman interpretations and we don’t even get Batman until the last episode. I just think it has such interesting interpretations of characters and their origin stories. The Red Hood Gang? Penguin, The Riddler, Poison Ivy. Solomon Grundy!!!
We get to see these villains as children a lot too. The Joker, Jerome, is a teenager. I really loved how they tied his origin story to the circus, specifically Haley’s circus (I loved the Flying Grayson’s references). And while I know the joker changes to his brother, he was such an interesting interpretation.
Firefly is a scared little girl, abused, and forced into becoming a monster. She’s afraid of fire when we first meet her, but in the end it’s how she is freed. Because there was nobody to save her she had to do it herself.
Scarecrow, Johnathan Crane, is a boy who puts far too much trust into his father. And he becomes his father’s experiment, in an attempt to rid him of fear. He is a victim, his mind completely destroyed by his father’s experiments, because the police are too late to save him.
These two are literally my favorite interpretations of these characters, they’re just so heart wrenching. Because if they’d had a Batman, they wouldn’t be villains.
Silena Kyle in this show kinda reminds me of Jason Todd, a street kid, who gets mixed up with the wrong kind of crowd. Except Bruce saved Jason, made him Robin, but nobody could save Silena. Nobody really tried. She acts so much like an adult, is independent and dangerous, but she’s a child.
Poison Ivy, is just a scared little girl. When Gordon meets her, she’s so small and tiny, and the first thing we find out is she lives in an abusive home. And after her father is killed by police, after her abuser is killed, it doesn’t get better. She’s forced out onto the streets, alone, with nobody left to take care of her.
I think the reason it’s so good is because it’s not about Batman but about the people who needed Batman the most, the ones who needed to be saved but in the end, nobody came for them. The villains, the victims, and the heroes who came before him. The reason Gotham needed a hero. Because as much as Gordon fights it, the police are corrupt and outmatched. Because if they’d been a little faster, fast enough to save these kids, half of Gothams rogues wouldn’t exist.

Honestly, I think I’ve discovered the actual reason Amber and Alfie don’t work in HOA like they work in the original HHA or DHA. And it’s not entirely due to the actual canon events that are written for this version of the pairing (the dating handbook, Amber’s “no” to Alfie’s attempt at breaking up, forcing Amber into the trial relationship in the first place, etc., etc.), though it certainly doesn’t help. It actually comes down to how their characters were adapted for the English version of the show, and how they are fundamentally different than the OGs.
I’ll start with Alfie first. Alfie in HOA is a goober. He’s doofy, well-meaning, and most importantly childlike. Not even just childish, but childlike. He’s boyish and bubbly, and he certainly makes some weird, sorta sexual comments (especially in S1), but on the whole he’s quite an innocent character. Essentially, he reads as very young. Which he is, especially at the start of the show where he’s probably supposed to be about 15/16, but could even be as young as 14.
Appie, on the other hand, is also a goober. But a different type. He’s honestly way more like Jeroen than Alfie is like Jerome, meaning he’s a something of a womanizer, a bit douchier, and on the whole reads a lot older than Alfie, which I’m almost certain is canonical across all characters (with HHA characters supposedly ending the show at the age of 19, with the timeline across the 4 seasons being only two years— three at most).
The few things character-wise both Appie and Alfie share intrinsically are that they’re besties with Jeroen/Jerome who doesn’t always treat him well, his love for a good practical joke, and (in earlier seasons) his pining for Amber. Of course, Appie also goes through phases of being a bit of a ladies man (see his random interest in Mara), but on the whole these things are constant. But already, the English version of the character is a lot more twinkly eyed and is like “Amber’s really pretty, I hope she notices me” as opposed to the Dutch “Damn she’s hot, lemme tap that”. It’s very subtle, because he’s obviously not a sleazy, bad guy, but it’s though being friend zoned by Amber (for the whole series) that Appie begins to loosen up and be less of a sleaze and more of the silly and whimsical guy we know him as; that’s because of Dutch Amber’s characterization.
I’ll come back to why all that matters, after I discuss the Ambers. (For the sake of keeping track, I’ll refer to them by their last names). Rosenbergh is a rich, pretty, ditzy party girl, but she’s incredibly perceptive. She sniffs out bullshit in an instant, especially with the Mick and Mara situation, but overall she has wicked foot-in-mouth syndrome and just sorta blurts out the first thing that pops into her head even if it’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever heart in your life. She’s extravagant, over-the-top, full of whimsy, and is downright silly. Rosenbergh is simultaneously a ditz and very smart. Simultaneously is the key word here.
Millington is not. She is a much more toned down version of her OG counterpart, and I think that is mostly due to the different actresses takes on the character. This isn’t to say, Millington isn’t any of the those of adjectives I used earlier, but the difference between the English and the Dutch versions of the character is that while Rosenbergh is both smart and ditzy, Millington is simply smart and plays at being ditzy. At least that’s how it reads, and how it reads is incredibly important in this case. Millington would never be caught dead in some of the situations Rosenbergh found herself in, because she’s a fundamentally more uptight version of the character.
So why does all this matter? Because the version of Alfie that we get from the very start is far more like Appie after a good hunk of his subtle character development— far more like Amber Rosenbergh. Amber Millington, on the other hand, is not the type of girl to ever mesh that well with a wild, goofy personality like Alfie’s. She’s just not. Alfie would work super well with Rosenbergh, however, because she’s this whimsical girl with a lot of heart. It’s why Appie works so well with her, too.
This isn’t a diss of HOA!Amber, by the way, because her English characterization is a masterful adaptation of the OG, but there’s a reason why even in S3 of HOA, at the supposed established point of Amfie’s relationship, they still feel so estranged from each other. At the end of the day, Millington has a different outlook on life and an entirely different mindset than Alfie. This isn’t to say they couldn’t work ever, but they’re just not the same pairing that Amber/Appie are.
It also didn’t help that Amfie had no best friends era. Like, sometimes I think we forget that Amber and Appie didn’t get together until the reunion movie. Like they weren’t a canon couple in the series. He liked her, but she didn’t like him back and they were besties. Their chemistry was chaotic and silly, and they had to grow into each other for them to work. Which is why they work. Amber and Alfie never did that, and part of me wonders if that wasn’t entirely because of the plot the English writers put down for them, but rather because the was Ana and Alex played the characters off each other just didn’t allow for it.
Which brings me to my last point: Willow. Arguably, Willow is more like HHA!Amber than HOA!Amber is, and that’s all because of the magic word I’ve been using this whole, poorly-written essay: whimsy. Willow is the glitterbomb to Alfie’s fuse. Their dynamic feels exactly the same as Appie and Amber because Willow is the writers’ second attempt at having Amber Rosenbergh in the picture, and that’s why Walfie works so much more naturally.
Anyway, this got long and I’m sure I missed stuff but yeah. TL;DR: Amfie was unable to replicate Ampie bc they’re just different

Magnanimous Moonrise & Savage Sunset Chapter 25MS
For this chapter, I thought it wouldn't add much to have two separate narratives. So this one is a fusion chapter! MM and SS are like this 🤝 Hope you enjoy!
Story masterpost
Note: this is NOT the end of the story, but we are getting close to a break in the narrative. I expect there will be 2-3 more chapters in this part!
Warnings for this chapter: Some casual misogyny, classism/racism(?) (if you consider "human" a race)
In this chapter: Getting away with murder, an important announcement from the director, and maybe possibly potentially getting through to a shithead teenage boy.
***
“Can we at least turn the television on, so he’s not just alone with his thoughts all day?”
Ari looked from Valen, sitting on the couch with a look of concern on his face, to Sebastian, still locked in the coffin nearby.  She sighed.  “All right, fine.”
Valen gave a joyous little wiggle, as though he really wanted to watch TV.
Ari took the remote and flipped the TV on.  It was on a news station.
“Do you have access to any nature documentaries?” he asked, excited.
Ari handed him the remote.  “Knock yourself out.  Just don’t buy any of the pay-per-view shit.”
She left the two vampires in the living room to go talk to the other humans in the dining room.  Bailey and Jerome had changed into their pajamas.  “We’re gonna hit the hay, okay?” Bailey said.
“Yeah,” Ari said.  “We all had a long night, but you two went on patrol, so you go first.  I’m gonna wake you up around four so me and Lex can take a turn, though.”
The two men absconded to use Lex and Ari’s bedroom.  “So I guess we just have one more day with Valen,” Lex said, sounding sad.
“Yeah,” Ari said, trying not to care.  She bumped Lex with her elbow.  “Come on, let’s go make the most of it.”
Valen was flipping through the channels when they came back in.  Sebastian had been watching the TV, but as soon as they came back in, he turned away, pretending not to be interested.
Ari plopped down on the couch, putting one arm around Valen.  “How ya doing, buddy?”
Valen gave a quick, nervous nod.  “I’m doing well.  Thank you, ma’am.”
“Good.”  She gave him an awkward pat.
Valen fidgeted with the rubberized buttons on the remote.  “So, Nick…”
“We took his body back to the base,” Lex said.  “We made it look like Sebastian killed him.”
Ari glanced at Sebastian.  “You don’t mind, right?”
Sebastian rolled his eyes.
“Thank you,” Valen said, hugging his arms around himself.
Lex scooted closer.
The phone rang.  Ari groaned.  “All right, here we go.”
She got up and answered.  Valen clung to Lex and listened tensely.
“Yo.”  It was Cyril, one of the other hunters at the base.  “What the fuck happened to Nick?”
“Huh?” Ari said.  She’d been practicing the lie.  Just to make sure.  “I dunno, he finally grow some balls?”
“He’s fucking dead!”
“God I wish.”
“Bitch, he’s dead for real!”
“Really?”
“Yeah!  What happened last night when you came to drop off the coffin?”
“Oh.”  Ari let out an audible grimace.  “We didn’t actually go out last night to return the coffin.  We just told Nick we would to get him to leave.  He showed up to our house, and-”
“The fuck you mean you didn’t go out?”
“We didn’t go out, shithead!  Nick came over to harass us at our house, we told him we’d come over later to get him to leave, then we stayed home because fuck him.”  This was perfectly in character with the way they typically interacted with Nick and shouldn’t draw any suspicion.  “I didn’t fucking kill him, although I kind of wish I had.”  This with a wink at Valen that made the vampire flush and sink deeper into the couch.
Cyril could be heard cursing on the other end.  “So you didn’t see what happened?”
“We were at our fucking house, dumbass.  We didn’t see anything that wasn’t at our goddamn house.  I was fucking my girlfriend last night.”
“Jesus Christ.  You dumb cunt.”
“How’d he die?  Like what happened?”
“How do you fucking think?  The damn vampire he wanted to play with killed him.  I guess after that old one was weak for so long, he forgot a fresh one would be, uh, dangerous.”
“Right.”  Ari stood stone-faced for a minute.  “Well, anything else?”
“Uhhhhhhh-”
“I’ll take that as a no.  Don’t bother me again.”
She hung up.
Valen dashed forward into her arms, and she hugged him.  He couldn’t believe it.  They really thought it was okay that he killed Nick, and he was going to get away with it, and then tonight he was going to get to safety, to go home.
“Put a hold on the waterworks,” Ari said, and Valen wiped his eyes.  “You’re okay.”
Valen went back to the couch and sat primly, hands on his lap.  He looked over at Sebastian, feeling pleased with himself.  “That man who hurt us is dead, and we don’t have to worry about him anymore.”
Sebastian looked relieved despite himself.
They passed some time watching a nature documentary with Valen before the phone rang again.  Ari let out an even more exasperated groan.
She ripped the phone off the hook.  “What?”
“Ariana,” said a very serious voice.  “This is Director Griswald.”
Ari straightened up.  “Ah?  Hello?”
Valen clung to Lex once again, all his nerves returning.  The director.  The boss vampire hunter.  Surely he wouldn’t be able to hear Valen, right?  He wouldn’t be able to tell Valen was there somehow, right?  Lex held him comfortingly.
“You’ve heard about what happened to Nick?”
“Yeah,” Ari said, more nervous than she had been lying to Cyril.  “Hear he got burned playing with fire.”
“I’ve been informed you were expected to see Nick last night to drop off some restraints for the new vampire.”
“Y…Yeah, we were supposed to, but we ended up not doing that.”
“Why not?”
“We…  I’m sorry, Director G, we just really don’t–didn’t–like Nick, we didn’t think it was very important.”
She waited tensely for his response.
“All right,” he said, finally.  “It's not like Nick didn't have any restraints, and he knew how to keep the new research specimen secure. So you didn’t see anything last night?  No other information to give me?”
“No, sir,” she said.  “We were home all night.  We weren’t scheduled to go on patrol.  We had a night in.”
The director hemmed and hmmed.  “All right, Ariana.  Thank you.  Please call me if you think of anything or remember anything else.”
He hung up.  Ari replaced the phone, hand hurting from gripping it so tightly.  She let out an exhausted breath and came back over, sprawling out on the couch.  “Well, I think we might have really pulled it off.”
More waiting.  More nature documentaries.  Valen couldn’t seem to get enough of them.
And then the phone rang again.  Ari groaned, screwing up her eyes.  “For the love of-”  She trundled back over and picked it up.  “What?”
It was Franklyn, another co-worker at the hunter’s guild, one they liked better than Cyril.  “Ari, dude!  Director G is on the news!  Flip over to channel 4!”
Valen, hearing the conversation, fumbled with the remote and changed the channel.  Sure enough, the director’s stony visage was visible in front of a mic, as though he were being interviewed.  The banner at the bottom of the screen read DALTON GRISWALD, DIRECTOR, DEPT. OF NOCTURNAL SECURITY, which then advanced to the headline EXPERIMENT GONE WRONG?  Underneath of that was the ticker tape showing which counties had the most recent V alerts–it was always the same handful near the border.
“Thanks, Frankie,” Ari said distantly.  “I’ll call you back.”  She hung up and went to stand in front of the TV.
“-save many lives,” the director was saying, and Lex used the remote to turn the volume up.  “The experiments were certainly controversial, but we had a strong justification.”
“And why didn’t you make the public aware of it?” the interviewer asked.
“There was minimal danger,” the director claimed.  “Except to the staff members handling the vampire, obviously.”
“But how can you claim there isn’t any danger when there’s a vampire running around loose out there now?”
“Our guild members work tirelessly to protect the people we serve.  We’re spending the day checking for all the places where the escaped vampire could have gone.  It’s no more risk than the usual presence of-”
“Mr. Griswald, how can you-”
“Please let me finish-”
“But how can you-”
“No, no, let me-”
“Director, how can you-”
“Please stop interrupting me, Nancy, I’m trying to answer your question.”
The headline at the bottom changed to GUILD SCIENTIST SLAIN.  The director took a deep breath.  “The tragic loss we experienced today was the result of personal negligence, not our program with live vampires.  Nick was a very close, long-time friend of mine, and our work will certainly suffer without his contributions moving forward.  However, I can’t deny the risk inherent in such work, and even if I believe we have a firm justification and the ability to work safely with enhanced security, I can’t deny the public has all the reason to be nervous about it given what’s happened.  Therefore that’s why I’ve decided, starting today, I’m shutting down that work.”
“Yes!”  Lex and Ari stood, giving each other wild high-fives.
“Yes!”
“Yes!”
“There will be no more live captures,” the director continued.  “No one in our organization is prepared to continue Nick’s work, and the risk has proved itself to be too great.”
The interviewer made a face.  “There you have it folks.  We’ll be right back with more after the break.”
Ari flopped back onto the couch.  “Fuck yeah.  Fuck.  Yeah.  We did it.  Those jackasses really think Sebastian got loose while Nick was alone and killed him and ran off.  And they're not going to torture anyone else because of it.  Fuck yeah.”
Valen gave a few excited wiggles.  “We did it!  Haha!”  He tried not to think about the fact that no live capture program meant Lex and Ari would have killed him when they first met.
He glanced over at Sebastian and noticed how very unhappy he looked.  He didn’t seem angry anymore.  Valen turned back around, hands on his knees, thinking.  “Um, Ari?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you think…  we could try letting Sebastian out again?  He looks a lot calmer now, and he still has stab wounds.  That can’t be comfortable.  He’s just been sitting there with them the whole time.”
“Oh.  Uhh, yeah sure I guess.”  Even she had to admit Sebastian looked kind of pathetic.  “Long as you can keep him under control like you did before.”
Valen nodded.  “I’ll handle it.  Leave it to me.”
Valen once again unlocked Sebastian and took him upstairs to the bathroom.  As soon as they were alone, Sebastian started crying, letting the tears flow freely.
“Oh, it's okay,” Valen said, handing him a tissue.  “You're all right.”
“I'm not all right,” he snapped.  “I'm hurt and hungry and-”  He'd been about to say scared, but caught himself just in time.
“Let me help you,” Valen cooed.  “It'll be all right.  We're going home at sunset.”
Sebastian burst into fresh tears.  “I failed.  I failed.  Mother and Father will be furious with me.  Priscus doesn't have a worthy heir, and now my father doesn't either.  Everyone is going to blame me for the family’s predicament.”
Valen took Sebastian's hands, firm and cool.  “You're under a lot of pressure.  It's not fair of them to expect so much from you.”
Sebastian brought his hand up to his face and wiped his eye on his shredded sleeve.  “But-but I'm purebred nobility.  I'm better.  I'm supposed to be better.  Better than commoners, and especially better than humans.”
Valen smiled at him and squeezed his hands.  “Listen to me, Sebastian.  When everyone wants you to be something that you're not, it hurts and it's okay to be sad about it.  And it can be hard to see through it to decide what you want, but you don't have to want the same things for yourself that your parents do.  There are lots of people out there who will love you even if you show up empty-handed.  There are people who will love you for showing up empty-handed.”
Sebastian scoffed.  “Who?  You?”
“There are more of us than you might think.  We're just not very visible.”  It was hard to tell Sebastian that when Valen had felt so, so alone as a direct result of trying to be more true to himself.  But he knew it was true.  It had been the thing to give him hope and courage.
Sebastian averted his eyes, sniffling.
“Come on, let's get you cleaned up, and I'll put some bandages on you.”
Valen helped Sebastian wash the blood off himself, then started wrapping him up.
Sebastian kept his eyes averted as Valen wrapped the wounds he'd inflicted on Sebastian’s arms.  “So…those humans really aren't your thralls?”
“No, they're not.  I'd consider them friends, if they want to call themselves that.”
“Did they lie to keep us safe?  Is that what they all meant about that guy on TV?”
“Yes.  They saved both of us from a horrible fate.”
“Okay, but why me? They're not friends with me.”
“They didn't want to see anyone at all condemned to such a fate.  They thought you could be saved. They're kind.”
“Well, that's stupid.”
Valen smiled at him faintly.  “And yet it's why you're here.”
Sebastian looked deep in thought.  Then: “What do you drink if they're your…friends.”  He said it like he still thought it was a bit ridiculous.
“They've been letting me feed on them because they didn't want me to go hungry, same as I kept you from attacking them because I didn't want them to be hurt.”
“I know how friendship works.  I'm not five years old.”
“Sorry, I'm-”
“You're not my mother.  You don't have to dote on me.”  He ripped his hands out of Valen’s.
“Do I have to be your mother to be kind to you?”
Sebastian's face almost broke.  He could count on one hand the number of people who'd been selflessly kind to him, with no ulterior motive, who weren't his mother.  “Well, it's stupid.”
“Come on,” Valen said gently.  “There's no one here to impress.  You can try being nice.  I won't tell anyone.”
“It's weakness.”
“It might feel ridiculous at first, but in the long run it makes me feel a lot better.  Maybe it'll make you feel better, too.”
Sebastian didn't make eye contact.
A few minutes later, the pair of vampires approached Lex and Ari in the living room.  “Sebastian has something he'd like to ask you,” Valen announced.
Lex turned off the TV.  Ari sat up straight.
“This is humiliating,” Sebastian mumbled.
“Go on,” Valen said.
Sebastian turned even redder, but he finally looked at Lex and Ari.  “I am very hungry.  May I please have some blood?”
Ari’s eyebrows shot up.  Lex looked delighted.  “Of course!  You can have some of mine!”
“Uhh…are you sure that’s a good idea?” Ari said, even as Lex slid off the couch towards Sebastian.  “Considering how much we dumped on the floor?”
“It’s just one time,” Lex said, waving her off.  “I’ll be fine.”
Sebastian reached out to grab Lex’s hair, and Valen smacked his hand away.  “Ah-ah-ah.  That’s not how it’s done.”
“That’s how it’s done where I’m from.”
“Well, we aren’t where you’re from, are we?”
Sebastian lowered his hand, once again looking chastised.
Lex extended her arm out.  “Go ahead and bite my wrist.  It’s okay.”
That wasn’t how it was supposed to go.  Sebastian was supposed to bite her neck, as a sign of his dominance over her.
But as he lowered his head and tried to make himself gentler at Valen’s direction, he found the blood quenched his thirst all the same.
***
Sebastian was still behaving himself at sunset, so they didn’t shove him back in the coffin for the drive to the border.
The border.  Valen could scarcely believe it.  The border, the thing he’d been trying to get to non-stop for the past few months.  The safety he’d only been able to dream of.  It was just being handed to him.
The van’s tires rolled to a stop in the dirt at the expanse of trees that filled the border.  Valen’s boots crunched over sticks, and he hauled his backpack out behind him.  Sebastian had been bundled up in a hooded jacket to hide the bandages and wounds he seemed self-conscious of.
“Well, here you are,” Lex said.
“Go on, get outta here,” Ari said.
Sebastian started walking towards the border.  Valen hesitated.
“One more hug for the road?” Lex suggested.
Valen nodded.
Lex came over and hugged him.  After a moment, Ari came up and did as well.
“You can come back, you know,” Lex said softly.  “I know it’s been… rough, but-  You’re always welcome here.”
Valen patted her back.
Ari finally broke the hug.  “Hah, I doubt he wants to see our sorry asses ever again.  Go on, big guy.”
Valen adjusted his backpack, looking unsure.
“Hey!” Sebastian shouted in the distance.  “Are we going or what?”
“I’ll call you to let you know I’ve arrived home safely,” Valen says.  “And I’ll… think about it, Alexis.  Thank you, both.”
With that, Valen turned and ran off, far faster than a human could ever hope to catch up.  Lex and Ari turned and wordlessly continued to hug each other, letting themselves cry now that no one was watching.

Fargo: Blue Salad
(Originally posted to Reddit on 1/14/24)
I finally worked out the symbolic meaning of the weird phrase, "blue salad." We can guess that the surface meaning is a Jell-o salad.
Dot represents Jean Lundegaard, who was kidnapped and killed in Fargo the movie. Season 5 is about turning that story on its head, so the victim lives.
We have had numerous references to Dot being figuratively dead and coming back, being "buried," zombies, etc. In the last episode, we finally have Munch literally pulling her out of the grave.
The conversation between Dot and Lorraine at Dot's house is also filled with death imagery.
DOT: Listen, bitch. I've climbed through six kinds of hell to get where I am. And no Ivy League royal wannabe is gonna run me off just because she doesn't like the way I smell. If you want to tussle with me… you better sleep with both eyes open. Because nobody takes what's mine and lives. Anyhoo… thanks for stopping by. Dinner Sunday? I'll bring my blue salad.
LORRAINE: Jerome. We're leaving. Always nice to see you, dear. Maybe think about getting some iron into your diet. You look like a corpse.
Dot has been through six kinds of hell, suggesting reincarnation, which has been discussed in other posts.
Not liking the way she smells is a reference to decomposition, which we saw graphically when Dot was in the grave last episode.
Blue salad is a reference to a dead body turning blue, which is called livor mortis.
Lorraine says Dot looks like a corpse. (Previously, Lorraine used the term "stake," which could also be a vampire reference.)
Lorraine suggests that Dot get more iron in her diet. One of the foods highest in iron is liver, which sounds like livor.
Now here's the really crazy thing.
Livor mortis sounds like Lamorne Morris, who plays Witt Farr. And Witt's trooper partner in the first episode was named "Iron" Mike Ox. The name Witt Farr means white bull, which means the car is split between a bull and an ox. The word FARRier is derived from the Latin word for iron, so we also have a reference to iron on both sides of the car. Essentially, the car is evenly divided, which was the crux of the argument between kidnappers Gaear and Carl in the movie. Gaear wanted to split the tan Ciera by having Carl pay him for half. When Carl refused and just tried to take it, he got the axe.
Witt's official character description says that he splits the check down to the cent, not because he's cheap, but because he's fair.
And fair compensation is also what Munch is all about. When he is cheated by Roy, he goes on his YOU OWE ME campaign.
Anyway, Witt also owes a debt to Dot, so suggesting that Dot get more iron in her diet is also a reference to getting help from Witt, who has repeatedly tried to pay the debt, but so far has been unable to do so. I think that will change in the finale.
ETA: A FARRier shoes horses, and horseshoes are iron, so it will be interesting to see if Witt Farr plays some role in Gator's final story, or if Witt is the upside-down horseshoe with Gator's name on it. Witt has already come into conflict with Gator.
I'm sure that's more than you ever wanted to know about blue salad, so thanks if you made it to the end.

House Of Anubis: How The OG Dutch/Belgium show was butchered in its adaptation by Nickelodeon Part 2: Nienke (Nina) & Amber
I was inspired to pick these for part 2 because of @evelhak sharing a post regarding Stella and Bloom's friendship in the original Winx Club cartoon, because the friendships do have some similar building blocks in their respective original shows. So today we will go over Exhibit B, why Nienke and Amber had a superior friendship in the original, why Nina leaving after S1 was bad writing and my problems with how they adapted Amber. 1. I think it might be wise to start with my problems with Amber in the English adapration first. For one, they definitely decreased Amber's bimbo factor in the adaptation because in the OG she was THE lovable bimbo. Amber was more naive and ditzy in the OG, sure she had good intuitions, the occasional creative spark and an implied secret love for at the time niche interests like anime, but she was still a bimbo. And as an anime fan, I take offense in removing her being a closet otaku. You see, in the OG Amber adores this fictional show that very much sounds like an anime- her description of the show contains Japanese names and the show is about a ninja who has a talking fish. It's called Nancy Ninja, and she actually busts out cringy attempts at martial arts that has the same energy as the Naruto run after she asked herself, "What would Nancy Ninja do?" That scene is just iconic, including Appie (Alfie) staring at the sky as a response and questioning God why he created blondes. I'll be going over how their ship was butchered in part 3 where I will be adressing Jeroen (Jerome) and Appie (Alfie). 2. This is part of why Amber and Nienke in the OG share some similarities with Stella and Bloom. Amber, like Stella, is both a bimbo and an 'It' girl. Unlike Amber in the English adaptation, OG Amber also never left the show and remained part of the Sibuna gang until graduation where she ended up becoming a model. Nienke on the other hand, is still an attractive girl even though she looks more like a wallflower in comparison to Amber and as the new one arriving so shortly after Joyce's disappearance she has targets on her back immediately. Yet Amber is one of the first to let go of her suspisions and actually becomes the person to support Nienke coming out of her shell like when she develops feelings for Fabian- Amber is the one Nienke can rely on for advice and throughout the series Nienke does become less shy and insecure thanks to the confidence she gains as the Sibuna leader and the emotional support she receives along the way. These characters could have easily been enemies, like the shy underdog taking up against the popular pretty bitch- but no. Amber and Nienke become best friends pretty quickly. Like Stella, Amber is also fiercely loyal and a bit protective which is why she was inititally angry when Nienke was her new roommate without an explanation what happened to Joyce. Amber is one of the likeliest characters to cut a bitch if something happened to her friends, right behind Patricia. 3. As you can see, Amber and Nienke never left the show- together with Fabian they are actually the most reappearing characters. In the OG, Appie (Alfie) actually was played by a different actor at first but he dropped out to go to acting school. He was replaced with another actor and they explained it away through a magical curse that literally altered his identity. Which is why Nina leaving the show after S1 is complete bullshit. The OG literally had a gimmick which they could have used for at least Nina's character considering she is the show's protagonist. The fact Nina is an orphan just like in the OG, actually means she has an easier time in certain ways if her identity was changed as Appie still had a family. Appie being physically a stranger to his loved ones is a small storyline he goes through. Nina's barely would have needed a small storyline like that as she only would have needed to prove herself to the Sibuna gang. This is why Nina leaving the show is nothing more but bad writing, because why remove your protagonist without a reason?
youtube
(I'm reliving my sapphic freak outs over Nienke yet again) Please watch the OG! This fanwebsite contains links to Google Drive documents of fan-subbed episodes. And here is also a video about Nienke and Fabian's ship because seriously-its difficult to explain how this ship was revered by so many back in the day.

ToT Main Story 10 Thoughts/Commentary (Part 3)
[1] [2] [3] [4]
Tumblr media
Whoa MC!! It's really easy to forget that she's got experience in drama/theater because it's mostly in the card stories (Artem's 1st birthday, SSR Por Una Cabeza), but she definitely hasn't lost her touch because she's still a good actress!
(Actually, more about acting later. That's why there are four parts to this HAHA.)
But in the moment, even in the stress, she's still able to believably act as if she's turning on Vyn, as if she doesn't know him, as if she is perfectly capable of killing him. Even if she was just in a near-death situation, she's really good at keeping her cool. MC/Rosa is definitely not to be underestimated.
Tumblr media
Ah, the NSB is coming up again. I'm still not really sure how I feel about their involvement (I'm still suspicious), but I guess they're probably the best people for this sort of task.
Tumblr media
Okay, this last line really struck me.
"Truths may not only be exposed in the light. Sometimes, the truths in the shadows will have greater value."
As the main story has progressed, we have slowly edged closer and closer into darker territory -- the shadows, if you will.
I always come back to main story 6 when I think about this because that was our first ever episode without a trial at the end. That was also the first one where MC was directly involved in a near-death experience with the main villain and one where it was difficult to truly bring the truth "in the light" because everything was just so messy. It was difficult to salvage the pieces of main story 6 and bring it to justice, because there wasn't anyone left to bring to justice at that stage.
So it makes sense that MC and the NXX Investigation Team are probably going to go into even darker areas, not necessarily for justice, because that's not quite the point here, but for truth. When they play it safe, it's harder to get the full story. Only when they step into the shadows can they really unravel everything that is going on.
Tumblr media
Right, okay. I'm... kind of confused by Jerome's mixed signals. We know he's not to be trusted (especially with the scene near the end where he's reaching out to Brigid), but he also seems to be... dropping hints?
Does he want MC to figure out the truth? Is he deliberately setting a trap for the NXX by baiting them with information, like some kind of setup or long con? Jerome is still very much a mystery to me, but if there is one thing I can be certain of, it's that he's been gradually appearing more and more throughout the main story. I don't doubt we're going to be seeing more of him as the mystery continues to unravel.
Tumblr media
It's been a while since I've seen her sprite, but Matthew bears a very strong resemblance to Jill/Reina Richter (I think it's Reina now, right?). It's cool seeing the artist incorporate common details between biologically-related characters (e.g. Marius & Giann & Austin, Artem & Kimberly).
Tumblr media
Ohh. The Richters are getting involved? Okay, so maybe Vyn does have more stakes in the situation than the missing NXX members.
-
Truth and Heroism
A mini segment about some themes I've been mulling over (in relation to ToT).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like a lot of the VNs I've been thinking about lately have been talking about truth and apparently ToT main story 10 is no exception to that. I think it's important that in MC's pursuit of the truth, she does stop and remind herself that truth can be cruel in the moment. There may be even more horrifying things in store for her and the NXX Investigation Team. But even as they edge closer and closer to painful answers, they have to see everything through to the end. Even if it hurts. Even if things turn out to be worse than they ever imagined.
Tumblr media
And then this last bit struck me because in a way, the NXX Investigation Team are heroes. They're a little glorified because MC is part of that team and also all the guys are love interests, but with MC, they've been helping to bring justice to Stellis or learn more about the greater plot.
But Brad Gries is different, because he's just some guy who doesn't even have a sprite, who thought that something had to be done in order to avoid a worse thing happening. And he's dead, and it wasn't a pretty way to go, and that's apparently case closed on main story 10 (final scene aside). There's something tragic about that. Maybe, in a way, Brad is somewhat of a microcosm of the people of Stellis. People who are fighters -- people who hope for things to happen or not happen, people who MC tries so hard to help and bring justice to. People who aren't always saved. People who don't get to see justice in their lifetime.

Hey Weezly, wondered about your thoughts on EP 9 of TCR. Tough one to watch, at least for me anyway. Thanks!
Hi there. You may regret asking for my thoughts.
Let me preface this by saying that I came into this show wanting to like it. I think Tom Holland is a great actor, and the source material was interesting, and I was curious to see what they'd do with it - especially once it became clear they were going the "inspired by" route rather than an adaptation of the Billy Milligan book.
That being said, I think episode 9 is when we start seeing the plot really get going, and, as a result, see just how poorly constructed it is. Episode 9 laid bare all the flaws and issues I could ignore in previous episodes. I'm going to watch the last episode because I've invested all this time already, but I liked this show a lot more before I watched this episode.
Here's a brief bullet-pointed list of some of my issues with it:
i hate this courtroom drama angle. a) that's not how trial works and b) why the fuck are we having a trial in the first place. Is he not pleading guilty? The trial just makes it clear how convoluted and contrived the case is - a shooting that injured but did not kill - and I know we were given the heads up that the defense lawyer isn't a good trial lawyer 2 episodes ago or something, but god, I could've represented Danny better. And the prosecutor gave a great performance except I cannot imagine a judge allowing half the shit he did. Also, again, the defense lawyer? Didn't cross-examine Marlin? wtf
the racial and sexual politics of this show are all the fuck over the place, and I could sort of let it slide but nope, now I've gotta call it out. 1) the prosecutor has been so clearly and completely painted as The Bad Guy so she's an easy target for abuse from viewers because she's being mean to our protagonist, and the fact that she (and the judge, who I assume will give Danny a harsh sentence next week - because the jury decides the verdict but the judge decides the sentence) is black and Danny is white? Feels some kind of way. 2) Angelo on the stand? This is a drug dealer, why would he show up? Further on Angelo - in like a 10 second scene last week we saw that Jonny-Danny had apparently a sexual relationship with him which makes the trying to get a gun scene hit so different. There's so much to unpack here. And yet. 3) Jerome. So, like most of the actors on this show, he's given a great performance. He and Tom have had some great scenes. But a) the amount of emotional labor this black character has done for the white character he barely knows is vaguely upsetting, b) when we're first introduced to Jerome via Ariana it doesn't come across as Great Love (sure we can debate this but I digress) but as soon as he seeks out Danny in prison and on the stand we get that narrative of practically Soulmates, c) this show purports to take place in the 70s - not a great time to be gay! To say nothing of the extra layer of race. Stonewall was 1969, dudes. On the one hand, super glad we're not having to listen to slurs. On the other, how is seemingly everyone barely blinking at Danny having a female alter or at the very least, if they don't accept the idea of alters, cross-dressing and fucking dudes? The prosecutor tries to prove that Jerome and Danny/Ariana weren't a couple because they never interactied outside the club - I'm sorry, it's the 1970s. Again, there is so much to unpack here re: Jerome as both a black man and a gay man and! We are getting! Nothing!
I liked Rya well enough but this episode she really grated on me? Her monologues felt preachy and patronizing.
Candy. So, one of the things I've come back to over and over is - we know Marlin abused Danny, and now we're to believe that Candy, on some level, knew. We also know that she married Marlin and theoretically stayed with him for financial reasons. Financial abuse is real, I'm not discounting that. But aside from being a dick, we don't really see Candy and Marlin's relationship as terribly abusive. She's so deferential to him, and yet we never see why, what has her so scared of him. She has a job! Her child is out of the house! Her characterization has been nearly nonexistent and it's frustrating.
So after struggling with undiagnosed MPD/DID for his entire life, we're supposed to accept that Danny, who was given a diagnosis like three days ago, is suddenly able to control his alters? With no issue? The scene 2? 3? Episodes ago where he tells Rya there are voices and he needs help is completely undermined by how much of a nonissue his alters have been in the interim.
All press tour Tom has been saying this show is about asking for help, and Danny asked for help in that scene - which was a great scene, I felt so seen there - and then in episode 9 we get Rya saying how brave or whatever Danny is for asking for help. BUT! He didn't! He committed a crime and was sent to jail and ended up in these therapy/interrogation sessions and then eventually yes, asked for help. But he was not out there crying for help, asking to be saved. He had his alters! He was unaware that he wasn't okay!
It's so clear that this show doesn't know what it wants to be and doesn't know what its focus is. Is it Danny? Is it Rya? The first 4 episodes are their own fucking show, and 6-9 are their own show. 5 feels like its own thing, too.
Additionally, this show is set in the 1970s. Why? Because Billy Milligan. Except they took the teeth out of that story, completely sanitized it to the point that there are virtually no stakes, but kept the set dressing. But that's literally all it is at this point. We get b-roll of 70s London, we have the costumes and cars, but aside from one shot of defense lawyer in army fatigues, we have no real sense of where we are in time. That is the only allusion to Vietnam. The prosecutor talked about incarceration like she's also read The New Jim Crow. Not a slur to be heard despite the fact that we are allegedly between Stonewall and AIDS. Rya talks about mental health like someone might in the present day. If they were already going to not make this about Billy Milligan, why the fuck did they keep it set in the 70s?
It is so frustrating because the actors are giving it their all. Tom? No notes. I was moved this episode, I've been moved all season. But I cannot get away from how poorly constructed this all is. This could've been so good. We should've spent more time digging into each alter. (What the fuck purpose did Mike serve? Ariana is the one "who can have sex" yet we also see Jonny engaging in sex?) What about the other dead alters in the barn? What about Adam. It has been hinted at all season that Marlin was not the first - the existence of Adam before Marlin would indicate that Danny had already experienced something that caused his psyche to split. we know nothing about dad. we still know nothing about Adam!!!!!!! Are we ever getting that resolution? Then what was the goddamn point? Why is there even a trial. Why have him commit a crime that's so toothless and that he's so obviously guilty of? Why structure this around a crime in the first place? Emmy Rossum has been severely underutilized, fuck, even Amanda Seyfried. Cannot believe they got Jason Isaacs to be in like. 17 minutes of this show. And once again, Tom Holland can have no lines and still be the most interesting character on screen. Can he go back to theatre, I'd love to see what he can do with a good script if this is what he can accomplish with a bad one.
I'm tired. This show had such potential, and it's tripping at the finish line. After taking four episodes to get started. Acting is great, cinematography has been good, but story? Writing? It's disappointing. I'm frustrated.

my S2 rewatch of HOA
so the thing about HOA is that the first couple episodes are always the weakest, it’s before the mystery begins and it’s not that interesting
i despise love triangles and the fact that couples break up due to misunderstanding so fabina breaking up so fast wasn’t fun for me
alfie was the best part of those first couple of episodes in his amber quest, the king tut outfit was iconic
i love bobby lockwood, sad to see him go, glad that it was for wolfblood
i should rewatch that after i finish hoa
joy’s storyline being completely fabian obsessed isn’t my favorite either, especially bc we see how organized and smart she is in planning events, that was fun, and we could’ve explored her having more tense moments around the teachers and victor.
though Klariza plays her with such charismatic acting that hey, Joy's in her villain era and she works it so well. im highly attracted to her when she's in control and scenes where she's just a plain bitch, like not signing up Mara for the competition. it's not a good thing to do obviously, still kinda hot in a villain way.
but anyway, all in all i hate making her into this almost wattpad-like character that is all about the boy and makes Nina into this horrible person that stole everything from her when there was never any build up to them being enemies. like never.
seeing her high-five mr. sweet was all around weird when you remember he was one of the adults responsible for her kidnapping
not even ms. andrews tries to apologize. come on daphne, you’re the one of these assholes i like (adults i mean)
i dont even like jasper all that much
WAIT NO IM SORRY TRUDY I DIDN’T MEAN IT YOU’RE A TREASURE AND IK I WOULD LOVE YOUR CHOCOLATE CAKE IF I HAD IT
i gotta say, victor playing young sarah’s message about ‘the atheneum is the place to look. lift the wings to find the book. hidden in this book of old, water of life and tears of gold.’
i recited that from memory
im just wondering, why did little sarah do that? record that message? did dad tell her about it? did she figure it out and did it herself? gimme context @frobisher-smythe if you got any
lets review some characters so far yeah?
eddie really doesn’t get the vibe that he’s in a boarding school with rules, it’s hilarious to see him make pancake runs in the kitchen and have victor catch him and him try to talk victor into it. he’s the newest kid so it makes sense especially when you count in his troublemaker personality. but still quite refreshing, i want to see him succeed one day, get victor to do a pancake run with him and get him to feel like a kid for once bc the guy is 95 and you best bet he didn’t feel like a kid even when he was a kid.
jerome is particularly interesting with his sister. he almost feels like a parent actually. poppy said so herself that she keeps his pictures on her phone because he was there for her, he came to recitals their mother flaked on, and he was there a lot. he tells mara he ‘trained her himself’ so he definitely spent time around her when she was little. and he takes her phone, keeps it, and if you rewatch the episode during the masked ball where she’s hiding and trying to get the letter and he feels betrayed by mara for her helping poppy do this, he sounds like a dad. he sounds like a dad trying to keep his kid out of trouble. and its really sad when you think about how he had to grow up fast. he’s been at boarding school since he was 5 years old, and the thing about boarding school is that it’s teenagers gaining some independence from parents, they’re alone more often despite the adult supervision, they don’t have their parents. jerome basically spent the better of 10 months every year since he was 5 without his parents. no wonder he became the way he is, and no wonder he tried to be there for his sister when she was growing up.
when he gets kidnapped by Rufus and he's fighting back, Rufus threatens to get Poppy as well and it's the absolute horror on his face that really sells it to me.
ngl, i feel bad for victor. rufus clearly sent vera with all the bullet points on how to sweeten up to the old bird and he is falling hard and fast. “smart and pretty lady likes to stuff animals AND she despises children? plus she cooks?” im surprised he didn't propose on the spot
idk about ya'll but i completely forgot about whether or not Vera really cared about Victor since i havent seen this in a minute. so lets talk about her. Vera's motives can be seen as though she's completely in cahoots with Rufus but really she's just a hired gun. he likes her, sure, but she genuinely believes that Rufus is insane. the whole 'becoming a god via the mask' is just too wild for her. think about it, from her perspective the Mask is a really old, really priceless thing she can exchange for lots of money but this old English bloke created a set of tunnels, why? bc rich people are weird. that's understandable, that's somewhat believable, the evil Senkhara ghost thing? pff, that’s going in the denial bucket. she denies it so much even after her frozen debacle. but even if she believed it all she wanted was riches in this life not the afterlife. and when he gets the wrong mask, he threatens to kill her, so she shifts her allegiances. get the mask, if this elixir thing Victor talks about is real then even better for her but overall? sell the damn thing and get rich. she might not have been 100% on Rufus or Victor's side, she was on her own side.
we’re finally at the chasm episode and they got the crocodile and i forgot this is where the rest of sibuna comes in!!! yeah!!
reminder that Eddie speaks fluent French. and so does Nina.
Alfie did an improvized interpreted dance for Ms. Andrews. it was glorious.
Victor reading Amber’s diary, “How can a man with perfectly groomed facial hair be so horrid?” as he proceeds to check out said facial hair in the mirror. fucking amazing
NOT AMBER FLASHING THE AMULET IN FRONT OF VICTOR BABE YOU’RE BETTER THAN THAT
not gonna lie, the phobia episode was so interesting when it came to Alfie. we love seeing his progress.
the fact that the Book of Isis was in the study the entire time, no one, not even Victor would’ve found it with the idea of the Mask on everyone’s head
Alfie being a genius with the itching powder
i remember someone posting about the episode where they all keep Victor awake to take the amulets off him, and man i agree, it’s a goddamn hoot
i love it when everyone comes together for something. reminds me of the episode of the cameras where alfie and jerome come up with staring at victor through them.
Alfie killing two birds with one stone, getting to do a fun jewelry heist with his best friend whilst scoring a point for Sibuna.
holy shit, guys, i think Alfie’s my favorite character.
you just know he had so much fun shaking that case.
when victor sleeps, he cuddles corbierre. its adorable.
again, some times i feel so bad for Victor this season, can’t see that Vera is clearly manipulating him.
I know a lot of people didn’t care for the goose chase and the other goose stuff. but the line, said by Alfie, “Alfie knows people.” when explaining how he got the goose is top tier for me
am i the only person thinking that Mr. Sweet feigned knowing Jerome’s dad because he was somewhat responsible for him going to jail? like idk, they were all in on it and pushed John under the bus? otherwise, why deny it and act all sus? @frobisher-smythe @mask-of-anubis thoughts?
damn, i forgot how long the hathor challenge took. between them all being hexed and trying to do everyday stuff with the hexes. nina gets real pushy and unlikeable but i mean i understand, she’s seriously under pressure, her and her friends lives are on the line and she’s the only one who isn’t hexed so she's the only one fully concentrated on the task, plus she feels massively guilty for doing all this. it’s bound to happen.
i suddenly remembered they need a cowbell or smth for this task. ugh, im not gonna lie, this was my least favorite one. probably bc it was just so long.
Jasper stealing the gem and Jerome declaring war. I don’t know why but it’s hilarious. Jasper you have no idea what you’ve started. i forgot that eventually Jerome and Jasper team up and that was actually pretty fun. Jerome started it out because of the Gem, bc Jasper stole it and then finds out that Trudy got kidnapped by this 'Collector', they're in cahoots now and y'know what, Jerome getting into this sketchy business is very-Jerome. idk it just fits his character, both he and Jasper have things to hide, and it's still about Egypt and/or the Frobisher-Smythes so it doesn't feel out of place, it's perfect.
Nina and Fabian hiding in the attic from Jerome and Jerome hiding under Vera’s bed from Vera.
when Sibuna + Jerome figures out that Rufus is back and then they actually decide to tell Victor is a pretty big deal. i really like it. because at this point, it's not about the Cup, it's not about the Mask, it's about Rufus. and that's never a good idea to keep secret. so instead, they immediately tell him, they tell him the truth about Vera, and big reminder that the number 1 rule in Sibuna is to not involve the adults. but they are all so terrified of this man that they know not to keep this hidden. and this time it's Victor who screws up by not believing them (but can ya blame him, all they do is lie)
reminder that during the scheme into giving Rufus a fake mask, Alfie was given the ‘replica’ to give it a new paint job so as to pass it off as the real one. so, not only did Rufus actually have the real one in his hands, throw it across the room, and dented it, but, out of all the Sibuna members, Alfie was the first one to hold the real Mask of Anubis.
and he painted it.
ok so, random thing but i’ve got to say, Klariza Clayton’s acting is incredible. i love Nathalia Ramos but some times certain scenes are left to be desired. but when Joy starts crying her eyes out, even when she knows she’s done bad, it’s heartbreaking and even relatable. Nina however, has to be written a lot in cliffhanging scenes that end up being more silly than serious by the next episode. but it's just a couple of scenes, not the whole show.
so, Victor Sr. died in pursuit of the Mask. does that mean he went through all the tasks? if so, how did they all get reset? and where are his bones?! did Nina just summon up his ghost out of nowhere??
i love how they all have good and proper reactions to Nina getting lost to the game. Alfie's freaking out, he's scared shitless. Patricia is yelling and silently crying. Amber's scared with shock that she couldn't even remember her steps to go back and her tears are much louder than the others. but not louder than Fabian's. he is an absolute wreck, sobbing the loudest and angry and just— just brilliant acting by Brad Kavanagh.
i've got to say, having Nina be benched first is weirdly perfect. it was a red herring that Amber was going to go down first, but instead, it was the main character. and everyone's feeling that loss. and it gives Nina a chance to talk to Victor Sr. and get some exposition about being the Chosen One and find out about the Osirian.
ok, so the next time they play the game, PROPS TO MY FAVORITE: ALFIE LEWIS MANAGING TO NOT GET SWALLOWED UP BY THE GAME BOARDS HE’S AN ICON, PEOPLE. NO ONE ELSE COULD DO IT
them all nominating people to bring over who are smart at chess but also needing someone ‘sneaky’
- Fabian picks Joy
- Amber picks Mara
- Alfie picks Jerome
- and Trixxie picks no one, vv Patricia
idk why but i liked that, they all had good choices, but Joy really was the one. glad she joined in.
i completely forgot that Trudy’s memory doctor was Rufus until he literally rips off the mask.
let me repeat that. Rufus Zeno. rips off his face. Scooby-Doo villain style. this is an actual thing that happened.
i completely forgot that Alfie gets taken by the game during Victor’s period as the gamemaster. ugh. Fabian, this was your idea, first Nina now ALFIE? you seriously suck during this task. buddy, come on, you were great for the spiderweb one but now? get your act together.
I FORGOT THIS IS THE EPISODE THAT JEROME GETS KIDNAPPED FUCK YOU RUFUS
hey Eddie, great Osirian instincts on being able to detect danger. *sarcasm*
the fact that Victor actually tries to call Sweet about Alfie's disappearance, and Alfie’s his least favorite last I checked (that or Eddie probably is) (some might say Nina but i think it’s mainly a rival thing rather than dislike) it tells you, just like when Alfie was immediately lost, Victor was beside himself, he refused to do this, hurting the students wasn't part of the plan. when you think about it, i don't think Victor really likes seeing children in pain, he was obviously abused as a child himself and then he took it out on Sarah, doing the same to her. he may enjoy punishing them with the most inconvenient cleaning supplies but actually hurting or killing any of them was out of the question.
AND THEN FABIAN MESSES UP AGAIN LOSING AMBER AND PATRICIA WHEN JOY'S THE GAMEMASTER BRO COME ON
FABIAN, MAYBE YOU SHOULD JUST NOT HELP?? YOU LOST NINA, YOU ALMOST LOST ALFIE, THEN YOU ACTUALLY LOST ALFIE, THEN THE GIRLS. NOTHING YOU'VE DONE IS GOOD DURING THIS GAME.
i honestly love how it comes full circle with Sarah’s doll riddle leading them not to the book of isis but to the key that led to the mask.
AND jerome’s gem being part of what completes the mask.
this season is fucking genius i swear.
AGAIN the idea that Senkhara was planning on having Nina wear it all along— it’s so deceptively obvious but no one ever expects it because we just don't question it. Amber asks what Senkhara even wants the Mask for anyway, she's dead. it’s so fucking cool
i think as a kid i understood that maybe Senkhara was tied to the Mask, that she needed Nina or something to unleash her so she could be free and then they'd find a way to tie her back or banish her
WE WERE CHEATED
I WANT THE ENTIRE SCENE OF ALFIE RUNNING THROUGH ALL THE TUNNELS WITH THE FAKE MASK W THESE TWO 90-YEAR-OLD MEN ON HIS TAIL
i finally got to hear the voices that Eddie's been hearing and the final one, "Find Nina," was Sarah's voice. (at least that's what it sounded like) that was so nice.
i also have a theory about Nina and the Dollhouse. what if Sarah wasn't actually watching them the entire time and Nina was actually unknowingly using her Chosen One powers? times where she legit asks the dollhouse for help, it lights up, after a while it feels like lazy writing for them to find answers quick rather than writing more clues for them to find. we've established that Nina can see the dead, she has 'the gift of sight' as Victor Sr. said. and Eddie can also see the dead, but he can also banish (and eventually have visions). so how do we know that Nina can't summon the dead as well? she constantly dreamt of Sarah, and now she's summoning her for information or help, only through a dollhouse instead of a crystal ball.
Nina telling Victor she had something for him and it was from his father, the utter confusion on his face as to how she could have possibly found this and her giving that message to him, "He says, sorry." as he holds it and weeps.
see, this is another reason to dislike S3, because when he's told that Nina won't be coming back he's glad of it, "she brought too much trouble" which ok fair, but you still wouldn't have gotten the cup because you had the wrong Chosen One, and never would've found the Mask anyway. she brings trouble for you but she's also the only reason things happen. and then he puts her down as being a 'bad influence' in front of Fabian the rest, and Fabian just explodes. like come on, the last time Victor saw Nina she was doing him a kindness, she gave him his father's ring. told him that his father was sorry. and the ring turned out to contain a tear of gold tHAT WE NEVER HEAR ABOUT EVER AGAIN.
what else, what else, what else.
i stand by being a Neddie shipper, because as said before by the resident neddie truther, @frobisher-smythe they have great personalities that compliment each other well.
I'm not surprised that Patricia broke up with Eddie, she's afraid of getting hurt so she does the hurting but the thing is that as a couple, while they enjoy bantering and have a lot in common, they could be foils for each other. kinda like Beck and Jade from Victorious. they're an iconic couple with a cool dude and a mean girl, but the thing about them is that they're incredibly toxic. that doesn't make them uninteresting, but very bad for each other. while i don't think Peddie is full-on toxic, they do have certain things going on like trust issues and lying (on both sides) and jealously issues too. and if you're that insecure about your relationship, if what you have with your partner is so fragile that you can't trust them around other people then why be with them?
Neddie had potential to be something huge and they couldn't even be bothered to explore it a lil bit.
well, i think thats about it, i hope you liked this messy review, the upcoming clips of some of my favorite moments, and be on the look out for my new sibuna inspired side-blog. i think i may get into writing one-shots again over there. @houseofwolfbloods

@ambiences-stuff a week or so ago commented on this post, asking:
For the ask, curious; 🧂 Least favourite part of canon
And I'm very late to it but I'm finally able to sit down and answer!
So I'm going to stick to only Negan's part of canon, and also stick to TV canon without comparing it to the comics-- because off the top of my head I have no real complaints about his comic canon, and a LOT of my issues with TV canon involves changes made from the comics and we'd be here all day if I went into that lol, but it could be summed up with "they made loads of changes to Savior-era Negan that made him more unnecessarily evil."
So all of that aside, my overall least favorite parts of Negan's canon on the show are his random love interest/baby plot in season 11, and honestly most of the plot of Dead City.
I want Negan happy more than anything but, without writing a whole essay about it: him randomly showing up with a new wife and kid on the way was unrealistic, their entire relationship happening off-screen was insulting, we learn absolutely nothing about Annie or them as a couple leaving it all feeling one-dimensional (virtually everyone only refers to Annie as "Negan's pregnant wife," even Negan himself most times), and we never get to see them interact except to talk about the baby and staying safe. The relationship itself turned out to just be a plot device to further Negan's storyline with Maggie (this continues to be true in Dead City), and was not to mention a slap in the face to Lucille's memory and importance to Negan when almost "losing everything" (Annie and unborn baby) was what pushed him to relate to and apologize to Maggie, and not when he had actually lost his everything (Lucille.) Even JDM didn't like it.
As for Dead City, my biggest issue is that the entire plot hinged on the Croat knowing things he realistically couldn't know. It was literally "random character the audience has never met but was totally there during the story, tells other character we've never met everything they need to know for the plot to happen, even things they have no way of knowing." It's a HUGE pet peeve of mine when characters learn important information off-screen in ways that don't make sense. How could Jerome the random Savior know about Negan and Maggie working together in season 11 when that was years after the Sanctuary had fallen (which is why Jerome ended up in NY in the first place)? On top of that, how did the Croat have any idea what Maggie and Hershel looked like? How did he find out where they lived, when they were no longer at the original Hilltop location? I also hate that this leads to everything being Negan's fault one way or another.

I just read the last chapter and it seems surreal. I mean these past weeks I reread the whole series just because I am still not ready to say goodbye. I mean I know it’s not goodbye to our beautiful Dixon fam but I am surely going to miss them.
I mean I need more of daddy Daryl and baby Wes together, like uh, they are so cute. And can I be honest here? I want to see Reader and Daryl fight like a real couple just to make up afterwards. And Robin, our sweet little girl.
Do you know that feeling after you finished reading your favorite book? That bittersweet feeling .. well I surely felt that reading the last part.
I have so manyyy fave parts but my top three would be:
- the whole prison chapter that wasn’t in the series
- Reader’s pregnancy and her giving birth to Robin
- the accident in the cave and everything that happened after like Daryl talking to Robin abt her momma (that part really made me cry) and Daryl’s reunion w his wife!
Thank you for writing this series Abbi, for bringing into life our Reader and Daryl’s story and their little family. Idk for the others but I really felt like I’m a part of this story. <3
So with all my heart — thank you aand I hope you don’t stop or get tired of writing no matter what, whether it’s abt Daryl or Norman Reedus’ package and characters, because you are REALLY good at this.
Love u. 🤍
Tumblr media
Hi bestie! Sorry it took me a minute to reply, I wanted to make sure I had the time to reply as in-depth as possible!
Wow thank you so much for rereading! I always find it so sweet when people say they reread my series. It's such amazing dedication and kindness. Makes me realize that my writing does mean something to people, which is awesome!
Ikr, Wes is so cute. His little cowboy boots pLEASE. And yes I agree! Definitely need to write a oneshot where they have a big fight and make up afterwards.
And awww please stop you're gonna make me cry saying that it feels like finishing your favorite book. That's so sweet.
Oh cool, I don't think I've heard anyone say that the chapters with Jerome were among their favorites! I must say that I really loved those chapters, even though they were really angsty and traumatic for the reader character. I thought they were good for adding more to her story and her growth as a character in this crazy apocalyptic world. And yes, a lot of people really like where she gives birth to Robin and when she gets trapped in the cave! It's interesting to see the patterns and to see what most people like.
You're welcome! I loved writing it, and I will love writing more for it in the future, I'm sure. That's awesome that you feel apart of the story. I truly feel like that was one of my goals when I first started writing it.
Thank you again, I promise I won't get tired of writing (or talking about Daryl's package). <3

if you could change how the hoa couples got together (or even back together), what would you have wanted to happen instead? (also, are there any couples that you would have wanted to see happen that didn't?)
Oooo yes these are excellent questions. Sorry it took so long to reply! I’ll go in order of their canon appearances! I get a little long on some of them so my bad lol
mick & amber: i’d have loved to hear more about their backstory. obviously they were together pre-canon so i wish we could have gotten more info about them. did they go out often? did they go on holiday together? some more info would be nice!
amber & alfie: season 1 followed a similar trajectory to amber/appie and felix/delia (which were both masterfully written best friendships with one-sided pining with the other in complete denial to the bitter end), and so when season 2 did… that shitshow, i didn’t even know what to think. so i would change amfie’s plot entirely to be just like that with them being chaotic best friends. and if amber still left in season 3, that is where i’d have her reveal she’d actually really liked him the whole time. a little angstier than hha’s love confession in the final movie, but at least they’d still get a confession at the end unlike in dha. overall, season 2 ruined any and all positive feelings i had about amber and alfie together as a couple because of how terrible they were for each other romantically. that’s why in neither of the other versions did they actually get together while they were in school: they weren’t right for each other romantically because neither were mature enough. in the other versions i liked them together later bc they waited. #killamfiewithfire
mick & mara: keep it relatively the same, but truly lol to that cheating scandal. also have her let mick down gently instead of locking lips with jerome bc oh lord, mick didn’t deserve that.
fabian & nina: season 1 has my heart, but i wish they’d made them less… ridiculous in season 2. the love triangle thing was popular in media in the 2010s, which is why i think they went that route instead of sticking with hha/dha’s relationship trajectory, but i think it was entirely the wrong choice. so i’d scrap that and make them get back together mid-season instead of the finale. they can still have road bumps, but it’s not dragged out. i’d also tweak their ultimate split a little by having her call instead, or have told fabian pre-season 3 what was going down. we didn’t need the drama.
jerome & mara: keep it the exact same tbh. they had good moments, and they were both necessary to each other’s overall development.
patricia & eddie: my babies. i’d keep most of season 2 as is, but here’s where i’d differ— i would have eddie be more insistent about what patricia was up to from the jump. it would help set up for the reveal of osirian!eddie, and also force patricia to confront her own hesitations about romantic intimacy earlier on. in season 3, i needed more mutual pining. i know they dropped the ball with that in the first 10–15 episodes because they were unsure of how they were going to proceed with their relationship (or if they were gonna let keddie/fabicia come on the scene lol), but i think their onscreen relationship would have benefited from a more obvious lingering interest in each other after the summer break up.
jerome & willow: needed more of them tbh. i wish willow had been around as a minor character in the first two seasons. like if she’d been in the background pining for jerome while he was so fixated on mara, it would have felt more satisfying for them to get together even if it all still ended in flames.
willow & alfie: literally perfection. i wish i had a spin-off with just them going on all their cute dates.
joy & jerome: they were perfect, i just wish we had more
mara & fabian: maybe a little more interaction in season 3 would have been nice, but overall i like them fine. people act like they never even knew each other before suddenly being thrown together, but you gotta remember that fabian knew mara well before he knew nina. they weren’t that random.
non-canon couples i’d have liked to see:
patricia & alfie: look, i think we can all agree that they had a crush on each other (alfie especially), and so i would have loved for their to be palfie in the episodes after amber left and before alfie got with willow. i just think it would work really well if they had a fling that turned out it was right person, wrong circumstances, and they then went back to being friends who finally got that crush out of their system. or alternatively, they’re endgame. i ship them a lot.
kt & joy: need i say more?

One thing that makes me think about the 1899 characters are the scars.
*SPOILERS*
On the last scene on episode 1.08, we see a close up of everyone’s face and their scars aren’t there. Eyk doesn’t have the three lines across his face, Krester doesn’t have his gunshot scar. We don’t know about Maura but I’m guessing she would be missing the scars on her wrists too. Also, (this might be a bit of a guess work) but I’m fairly sure that Tove isn’t pregnant inside that pod. Thus, we conclude that the results of the memories that they had of their past inside Kerberos does not exist in the last scene. Now this can only go two ways:
Either the Kerberos is reality (or closer to reality) and the spaceship is actually some sort of a deeper level of simulation in which they have lost their scars (which might be a metaphor to their past experiences). Or, everything that we have seen on the Kerberos, even the memories, are fully simulated and nothing from that simulation is real or is based on reality. In this case, the memories might be some sort of trauma that for some unknown reason were designed for each passenger. The goal might have been some sort of behavioral study.
So this up until here was fairly obvious. However the next part is interesting: when these passengers live through their past inside the Kerberos, they do not have their scars, or pregnancy in Tove’s case. They fully become their past selves as they go through that experience all over again and then, through this traumatic event, they gain something. Again I might be guessing but we can say that Lucien’s seizures are caused because of the hit that he takes to his head while Jerome pulls him back towards the cage. Long story short, all those scars and conditions and diseases which have disappeared in the spaceship, are rooted in the memory that was planted for each person. Therefore, be it the first or second case, they are nonexistent on the spaceship.
But this differs for Eyk.
When he was “reliving” his memory, he had his scars. But they disappear when he is in the pod. And we never know how he gained those scars but my bet is whatever the reason, those scars stem from a reality that the creator, or Ciarin, or whoever is in charge of this whole thing didn’t want Eyk to remember. Then again, if Kerberos is a simulation, why does he have them when they could’ve easily been removed?
I don’t know where I am going with this and I don’t know if it makes sense but it somehow shows that there is something different about Eyk from the other passengers.

sorry i dont have a particular question but is it ok to ask abt code: click (the splatoon ocs) and what the characters are about? I saw bennet a while ago and thought he was pretty neat but figured id ask abt the team itself
yES IT IS ABSOLUTELY OK \o7o/
yEAH OK SO!!! so!!!! so bennet was an oc originally made for a big group rp run in a splatoon rp discord i'm in; it was in a similar vein to octo expansion except it was like a whole group of cephalopods were abducted to do group testing and instead of kamabo co it was nabemo co! they all woke up without any memories and, in octo expansion fashion, would have to progress through various tests to earn their memories back :V it was a very interesting rp and you can actually read it here! or at least you can read as far as we made it before replies started spacing out too much that we just couldn't keep the rp going ^^;
i didn't actually have his team designed when i originally made him, just knew that he had one
wasn't til a few months later when the rp started to wind down (i think it was around then anyway?) that i began coming up with other team members. nyla was the first, because i wanted a white-inked 'hacker' character! not only a hacker, but also a very big risk-taker, or at least usually. she's got octo armor that she definitely stole from the canyon, but now that her team captain has been kidnapped, she's kinda freaked out about taking risks again- til bennet assures her that whoever kidnapped him and whatever situation that was (he's yet to elaborate on it to anyone) was taken care of and nobody needs to worry about it happening again. she's very self-confident and loves seeing how much she can bend rules before they break, and is a tad of an adrenaline junkie. she's been on bennet's team since day one.
i don't honestly remember if anything in particular led to me making theodore and tobias; it was honestly likely just me throwing together outfits and seeing what looked nice and also if they happened to work with a weapon lksdgjs bUT
theodore is a very quiet inkling that can tend to let himself be a bit of a doormat ^^; he's workin on it tho! with nyla especially, who's not afraid to mince words when letting him know that hey, you need to stand up for yourself more. he's fairly self-conscious and people-pleasing and often puts himself down without even meaning to. i didn't get to develop him in the splatoon 2 rp arc as much as i wanted to, so he's gonna get his development in 3 \o/
speaking of characters who didn't get their development i wanted, tobias! he's. depressed. he and his siblings moved up to the surface a little while ago (they're octolings), and he just didn't deal with the change very well. everything was way too different, and yeah he had his siblings, but his sister was always out and about exploring the place and his brother was too phlegmatic to really get him out of his shell much. he tried, to his credit, and he ended up actually helping by getting him to sign up for a team, which turned out to be code:click! tobias is the newest addition to the team, and while he's very good, he's yet to really open up to his team and actually let himself enjoy what he does. he kinda feels like it all might change again soon anyway, so why bother getting attached? give him some time, he'll settle in eventually and learn that it's ok to grieve the loss of where you came from, but you can't let it affect new opportunities to live your life in an enjoyable way and that it's ok to let yourself enjoy new things, even if they don't last a while. so he's kinda like. dead just a little bit and going with the flow most of the time since he's also quite the phlegmatic :0
there's also a couple other teammates i made as well in the vein of what-gear-and-weapon-combo-looks-nice-and-also-somewhat-works-in-game ocs :y i don't think i've posted any pics of these guys anywhere yet
wade and jerome i don't really have much on yet, but i know wade would get a tad too competitive and his anger at losing battles was getting to a point that the team just wasn't able to deal with it anymore. he caught onto it though, and bowed out gracefully instead of it blowing up into a huge argument. he keeps in touch with the team and is on good terms with them!
jerome is also an adrenaline junkie, but splatsports wasn't filling that spot for him well enough, so he just simply moved on to traveling around and seeing what thrills he could get himself up to.
holly is my tentative new agent 3 actually!!! she was the most recent teammate that left bennet's team because she was originally sent up to the surface on a mission to gather intel and so was integrating herself into inkling society to better fit in. what she didn't count on was actually getting attached to her team, and when she realized she was and could no longer really commit herself to going against them, she ran off after spouting some excuse about moving to do some school studies. her goal changed at that point to go back to the canyon not to rejoin the army, but to try to convince the rest of her octo squad to go up to the surface with her- the squad members that were left, anyway. her squad lead had poofed after the first dj octavio fight (he's a friend's oc named matt), and his right-hand was declared MIA after a mission to investigate an old outpost went awry once the squidbeak splatoon showed up (right-hand is lotus, my agent 8!). anyways she doesn't keep in communication at all with bennet and co, and she currently is unaware if any of her squad is even still in the canyon or not, but she's gonna try her best to 'save' them if she can.
the angle i've for her possibly being new 3 is that the junker vibe fits bc she's trying to find parts to make something to combat hypnoshades, which, while not everyone wears them, she's now paranoid that with three squad members having possibly run away, the rest of her squad might be under suspicion of treason and be given their own pairs. or if she's caught trying to cause soldiers to defect, she might be given her own pair. so she's doing all the planning and building and collecting she can think of to get ready for her own journey down into the canyon.
but the old creep in the sewer muttering something about octolings caught her suspicions and she followed him only to get a title slapped on her she didn't really want and an... actually decent set of armor. maybe she could play along for a bit and use this for her own purposes. well, then dj octavio showed up and. he's missing his soldiers. and now holly doesn't even know if the rest of her squad is ok or not, so now she's determined to find the dj, find out what happened with the soldiers, and find out if the zapfish disappearance is connected to it bc if it is then hey maybe she could help both her old squad and her old team, and that'd be Pretty Darn Neat.
anyways lksgjs this turned into a wAY longer post than i thought it would oops buT YEAH TYSM!!! defo lemme know if u want me to elaborate on anything/anyone 👀 i love bennet's team sm like his and nyla's friendship is something that can and will make me emotional Immediately they're great

Smaller and Smaller Circles by F.H. Batacan Thoughts
I usually hesitate to read socio-realism books. In my honest opinion, most Filipino media is oversaturated with socio-realism. To justify the existence and purpose of an artform in a country where arts are looked down upon, Filipino artists often resort to socio-realism. I'm not saying socio-realism is a bad genre but as a consumer I'm getting tired of seeing it. I just want some variety ya know?
Smaller and Smaller Circles is dubbed as the first crime novel in the Philippines and it obviously sits in the socio-realism genre. The book follows two Jesuit priests as the NBI (the National Bureau of Investigation) assigns them to investigate the mysterious murders of young boys in Payatas.
What I love about this book is that it doesn't feel like a commentary first and a fiction seconds. Batacan incorporated both the socio-realism and fiction elements to create an entertaining yet interesting peek at the issues of the Philippines.
The priests feel like genuinely engaging characters rather than blank slates. Father Saenz and Jerome are the Sherlock Holmes and John Watson the Philippines needed. I would love to read investigating other mysteries. Most characters, although appearing in a scene or two stood out because of their quirky personalities. They feel like people I could talk to in the street.
My favorite character is Ben Arcinas. His redemption is beautiful, from an attention-seeking lawyer to a more cooperative worker, able to work with Saenz and Jerome. I love reading scenes where he is in. The character I least liked is Joanna. She is spunky and sharp but she doesn't stand out to me. Another character who I least like is the serial killer himself but I'm not gonna spoil.
I feel I can't enjoy this book without overlooking the reality that is reflected in the story and in real life. The book has a way of testing my empathy and biases about the country I live in. I relate more with the priests and the priviledged characters in the story rather than the boys who were murdered. We get glimpses of the boys' lives when they lived which aids to the tragedy. The NBI doesn't want to waste their time investigating the serial murders because of the boys' economic status.
I want to see people create fun fanart and fanfiction of this book but it simultaneously feels wrong.
The dreariness of the story and reality ironically made the two protagonists stand out even more. In a country of incompetent government officials and law enforcers, Father Saenz and Jerome stand out as a shining light amidst the darkness. They are the people whom I wish exist in real life. Although Batacan shows the deep-seatedo corruption in institutions such as the church and the NBI, I find this story very optimistic in its lense. Characters like Arcinas could be better people and a predator like Father Ramirez could be served justice. If it weren't for Director Lastimosa, the case wouldn't even be touched by the NBI.
At the end, everything in the story ties up into a neat little bow, a far cry from reality.
BTW, I haven't seen the movie yet and from the trailers, it doesn't match the imagined vibes of the book. And Father Emil is a sweetie.

ToT Main Story 9 Commentary/Thoughts (Part 2)
[1] [2] [3]
The plot thickens and I muse about both trivial and not trivial details.
Tumblr media
Okay, and this lines up with Luke wanting to keep MC from danger and overprotecting her at times. Ignorance is bliss/freedom, and it's interesting how he believes this will allow her to make more choices rather than walk along a predetermined 'canon'. This is somewhat contrasted to Vyn's actions, as he is slowly trying to expose MC to the darkness of the world in a controlled manner. Still, we know that MC, as the pursuer of truth and justice as she is, will not be content with staying ignorant. Of course, this is taken outside the context of the fortune telling, but in a general sense it's still an interesting concept to think about.
Tumblr media
Girl?? You too?? (signs of spending too much time with Luke)
Tumblr media
The first time we're seeing Vyn and it's halfway through the entire episode! Also interesting is the fact that the devs are starting to change up the character sprites because this is definitely one of his newer sprites.
Tumblr media
Aaron! :D
Tumblr media
Okay, okay, good to get some new info about Luke's disease. Not only is he frequently seized by intense pain, he's also beginning to lose control of his limbs.
Tumblr media
YEAH GIRL NO KIDDING
UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE ENTIRE GAME
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah, classic romcom meeting -- crashing into each other and then gazing up into each other's eyes. Slightly more interesting, however, is the little girl's "it's just like what you said", revealing Jerome was the one who nudged her toward asking Marius for help in the first place. Now, is that because Jerome somewhat understands who Marius is underneath his cold, professional façade, was he only trying to help the girl, or does he have other exterior motives?
Things to keep in mind as we gradually get to see more of him, I suppose.
Tumblr media
Luke wait no I'm still trying to get a read on Jerome!
Tumblr media
Ah, and we're back to framing Marius again (temporarily). This guy cannot catch a break.
