I've been making the transition these past few months, but I think I'm gonna just move back to Tumblr. My Twitter's follower-base has reached a point where I can't tweet anything casually opinion-related without it overflowing like a toilet. I post a short thread on my gripes with color design in anime and I'm getting QRT'd with "kill this guy with hammers" reaction gifs. Like, damn, this isn't fun anymore. It's not fun to talk about stuff on Twitter in general anymore. I wanted to post some ship dynamic doodles sometime there, but I know I'm gonna get weirdly aggressive takes and reactions. Monkey's paw curls, but I don't particularly like having that many followers.

It peeves me a little when artists portray Luo Binghe as this massive hulking shitbrick house of a man when in text it's explicitly stated that he's so so pretty in a way that's almost feminine, that if he didn't have Tianlang-jun's eyes he'd be a perfect copy of Su Xiyan. Luo Binghe is tall yes, but he's beautiful in a delicate way. He is literally a pretty boy. He could pull a Thor and pass as a bride to deceive his enemies (og lbh wouldn't do it, but bingmei totally would). Airplane admitted he made him that way because that's what was popular with women.

Though it might bother me somewhat, I do like how the fandom portrays him, even if it's not how I pictured him while reading, this fandom has many talented individuals, with beautiful art styles.

I also take into account that Binghe's appearance in fanart is clearly influenced by the official western release book illustrations, which portray a Luo Binghe with brown and curly hair, very different from the novel's description. (And I gotta admit that curly hair makes him look cuter)

I imagine the western fandom depiction of Binghe is also influenced with the most common views and portrayals of demons of the western world, as barely human looking creatures. And that's why sometimes he is drawn not only massive, but also with horns and fangs and such.

is it me or is everyone on this website so fucking miserable about everything these days. about every show every movie every book every musician/band every post regarding social issues every art piece. actually not even just on this website on all social media type platforms. the sheer amount of posts/youtube videos i see titled “x is bad and here’s why”. y’all talk about people/problems that have never even remotely crossed my mind as a possibility of existing like it’s plaguing the earth as we speak. things that people act like are major problems in [x fandom] or whatever that i’ve straight up just never seen before. in circles i’m active in. not even in a “let people enjoy things!!!” type of way. just why are you so hung up on something minor clearly making you so upset. i’m a guy who loves to fight but like why are we fighting when it’s not even fun for either of us. and you know what i’m probably guilty of this too at this point but jesus christ. whatever. can we all just sit outside in the park and smoke a blunt and chill out like we used to.

okay listen neil newbon would absolutely deserve to win best performance for astarion at the game awards and I’m going to applaud if and when he does. however. if devora wilde isn’t at least NOMINATED alongside him you can all expect me to make some angry posts about it.

I saw Fight Club for the first time yesterday and to the best of my memory, this was the second time I consciously noticed Edward Norton in a movie (I have a bad memory for actor's names and faces, I may have seen him around but wouldn't know).

The first time was Primal Fear.

This makes Edward Norton the second most specific type cast in hollywood in my book (right after the actress who played cinderella's evil stepsister in like, three different adaptations).

Is it alright for people to learn te reo Māori if we aren’t Māori? Like is it an open language to learn, or is it more of a closed culture type thing? dw you're making sense. but yeah, i've gotten this question a few times and the general consensus i've gotten from asking my māori followers for their opinions/knowledge is that it's definitely alright to learn te reo as long as you're respectful about the fact that it's an endangered + indigenous language. there's currently a heavy emphasis on teaching māori te reo for many important reasons but as long as you aren't taking up any of those specific resources or otherwise stepping on toes (and you need to actually listen if people say you're crossing a line; there are many aspects of te reo māori that require a basic understanding of māori cosmology, beliefs, and culture), you're fine and in fact generally encouraged to learn te reo māori since it's helping keep an endangered language alive :)

#as per usual if any māori disagree i would love to kōrero to hear your opinions and their reasons #i'm not a monolith and as diaspora māori i'm inevitably going to feel differently about certain topics. i'm just a guy on the internet etc #regardless this is both more or less my own opinion and the general consensus after speaking to other māori #do the bare minimum to not step on toes or be weird about it and you're actively encouraged to learn te reo māori

personally i dont like during relationship jealousy its just soo boring and annoying, give me pre relationship jealous and add some denial of/obliviousness to feelings, i want to see them ripping their hair out on why A just called C cute, i want to see A rolling their eyes and scoffing at B being flirted with or flirting with someone and i want them to not even know why.

mid-relationship jealousy is just overdone, maybe it can be done well but i dont think ive ever seen it.. its always C comes in and flirts with B and A is all like "grr i dont like that theyre mine." and sticks their tongue down B's throat or ass.
