Aw man, I'm sorry to hear you're depressed. I hope things become okay for you soon. I've sort of started relapsing into some of my depression symptoms too. I'm not experiencing the lack of excitement that you are experiencing right now, but I did experience something like that a few months ago when my depression was especially bad. It's a really hard thing to deal with, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Anyways I hope you're doing okay and I hope things become better for you soon.

That's sort of what might happen, when your employer lets you know you'll be forced to quit in two weeks, because he's cancelling transport from your area, where there's no way to get to the point he made on a map to collect affected workers from. And either you quit yourself, or you're getting fired, when you don't arrive three times at work, because simply firing you would mean he has to pay redundancy payment. Taking away your only means of transport apparently doesn't count, because "You'll figure it out somehow." (His words.).

I feel I should actually get deep with this reply, and maybe a deeper in-depth analysis will come at a later date.... So this may be a bit scattered, but for now I'll say despite being a Maester, it's entirely for show to the point that the masquerade is a perfected habit. He will perform the sacred bow as if rehearsed many times over, but there's no faith behind it despite how Spirans look up to him.

I actually believe only the Maesters know the "truth" of Yevon and the endless cycle. There is no repentance as much as they preach and is entirely a power control. And I say only the Maesters because of how secure of a hold they have on the people due to the more the "truth" is known, the more likely the "truth" will slip. The knowledge would cause a collapse of society. And as Seymour was aware and accepted this knowledge from his young age beginning with what he initially learned from his father as former Maester and then reality hitting him with Yunalesca, he was a prime candidate for moving up in ranks of the Yevon hierarchy. Accepted more than Jyscal even, since Grand Maester Mica accepted the patricide. (Funny how Kelk was kept in the dark about that.) But Seymour was young, he was a new bridge for Guado into the faith, and to many Spirans he was very considerate and helpful to their pleas.

He really is a good maester and does many good deeds. Providing aid, allowing refuge in his home, comforting those that need it...

Were Seymour's popular acceptance only to end there, though. I'm certain his ultimate goals were kept secret between his ministry because the Maesters would likely have frowned at the extreme nihilism Seymour wanted to act upon.

So...it's an easy relationship? Considering it's a means to an end. In his words, "actors must play their parts" and he's determined the play ends in a tragedy.

We were so close to smoking not being cool anymore. We were so close. Then they flavored it mango and now it's taboo to criticize it anymore.
