==================
Isabela, Puerto Rico, May 2023
“We are about 30 minutes from our destination. Please stay seated with your seatbelts fastened. The pilot will let you know when it is safe to do otherwise. Enjoy the rest of the flight.”
The flight attendant’s announcement woke up Daveed. He felt warm and happy. And he had you in his arms.
Daveed moved his head down into your curls, and kissed the top of your head., checking to see if anyone was watching. Everyone was knocked the fuck out.
You had fallen asleep on his shoulder about 45 minutes into the flight after passing around champagne bottles. You were so cute, but he could tell that your neck was gonna be wrecked when you awoke.
Daveed had carefully maneuvered you so that he could pull up the armrest without waking you. You were dead to the world, so you waking up wasn’t a problem.
Then, he pulled you to his chest, situating the blanket around you two and leaning back.  If he wanted anything from you right now, at the top of the list would be to be able to hold you like this and to show love.
He questioned that word in his mind. Love, really? He did love you, even if it was only as a good friend. But could it be more? Were you ready for that? Was he?
Daveed looked around to see Craig watching him and giving a thumbs up.  No one else noticed, Rafa was on his laptop and he could have sworn that Anthony and Jasmine were doing something nasty under their blanket behind you.
He settled back into this feeling of being with you and fell asleep too, happy and content.
You woke up to a strange rhythm under your ear. It was a blue covered heartbeat, you recognized as you opened one eye, and it was insistent and hard, yet warm and safe. You shifted, held Daveed’s torso tighter and tried to drift back off. His arms tightened around you in response.
 Then your eyes popped open.
“Oh shit!”  You realized what was going on. You sat up slowly and squinted at Daveed’s smile and his damn low sexy voice.
“Hey sleepyhead.”
“Hey.”
You blushed and wiped your mouth.
“Shit, I’m sorry…” you wiped at his onesie. “I think I drooled all over  your…”
You didn’t finish the sentence when you glanced at Daveed and caught his eye.
What you said that night came back to both of you. D’s eyes darkened and he licked his lips. For a minute, you were trapped by the static energy of your attraction. Daveed could do a lot with those lips right now if you’d let him.
But of course you fought it.
You took a deep breath and sat up, separating from Daveed more fully. You had to get it together. You reached for your phone and checked your face, making sure you weren’t too crusty.
“Practically perfect in every way.” Daveed was watching you.
“That’s your first mistake.” You clicked your camera off. “ Anything that’s perfect isn’t real. Or alive.”  You had learned a lot in therapy.
“Truth.” Daveed looked at you appraisingly. “Such wisdom from a young one.” He leaned close to you.  “That’s why I said, ‘practically.’”  He was staring at your lips, not wanting to give up on meeting them again.
“I’m not a ‘young one.’ I’m thirty in two days.”
You lifted your chin as a child would do, Daveed noted.  It was appropriate, because you were being stubborn as fuck right now.
He chuckled and stayed close, not letting you off the hook.
“And I’m 40. I could be your…”
The timbre of his voice was causing your pussy to vibrate. Holy fuck.
“...Daddy,” you said, huskily.
You opened your mouth to breathe, as Daveed grunted quietly in his throat. God, you wanted to fuck him. You remembered that you knew how big he was. Your eyes widened and you watched his mouth.
Daveed would teach you about Daddy. He wanted to rail you until your pussy curved to his dick.  Got damn.
Daveed wanted you and you wanted him. It was crystal clear. He began to reach for you under the blanket when the flight attendant’s voice intruded on your vibe.
“We are beginning our descent into Rafael Hernández Airport, please stay seated with your seatbelts fastened and bring your tray tables and seats to an upright and locked position. The temperature is 75 degrees and the current time is 12:47 am.  We should be at our gate shortly. Thank you.”
That’s it. The moment was gone. You reached for your water bottle and took a drink to cool down. You were grateful.
Daveed was frustrated, as he sat back, brought his seat up, but held the blanket on his lap for a little while longer. It wasn’t fair, he almost had you. He closed his eyes. Now he felt like a child.
---------
The crew finally arrived in town around 2 am, after the two hour flight and renting a couple of cars to get to Isabela, a village on the seaside.
Loud music was playing to avoid falling asleep, Rafael driving one car and Ant the other.
Arriving in town, the two cars headed straight to the Walmart to get some food and things. It was almost 2 am, but everyone was re-energized and playing around, glad to be free for the time being on the island.
Daveed had to concentrate to read the titles in the video section.  His mind kept going back to the moment on the airplane.  But he vowed not to chase you up and down this island. He didn’t want to crowd you.  It had to be your decision.
You had to come to him. And  the thought of you made him want to cum. He’d have you to think about in the shower tonight, or today, whatever.
He needed to stop thinking about it.
Daveed was looking for Black Dynamite to watch in the condo in case it rained. He knew better than to think that Walmart had it, but he tried anyway.
He did see Afro Samurai tho… He picked it up as Rafa approached him with a toy xylophone and a big grin.
==================
Puerto Rico did something to all of you. It was like some weird no inhibitions pollen or something. When you stepped off the plane you decided to not overthink shit. You were just going to respond naturally, fuck the consequences.
This was your weekend, after all.
You walked into the entertainment section and heard some vaguely familiar music. As you got closer, you realized what it was.
Daveed was in the book section rapping “Rubber Duckie” as Rafa played a toy xylophone.
I got my rubber duckie
I'm in the tub with bubblies
He isn't very fuzzy
I know my duckie loves me
Call up my homie Ernie,
You know the orange one, ya heard me
D was going in, being silly and laughing with his bestie. He was fucking adorable.  You grinned at them and turned down the dvd aisle.
“I can’t believe they don’t have Cowboy Bebop.”
You shook your head as Daveed and Rafa walked up and flanked you at the display, a shopping cart by Daveed’s side.
“It’s a classic.  Children will be referencing the War on Titan and it's after effects a hundred years from now."
Rafa just nodded and stroked his chin, having enough sense to be quiet.
“Wait, Attack on Titan is right here Lindy…” Daveed reached for a dvd and held it up in front of you.
Rafa shook his head and covered it with his hand.
"Spike Spiegel wasn't in Attack on Titan.  That's an entirely different anime series, my dude."
The sardonic wit in your voice. Daveed just nodded, face on the floor, and put the blu ray down.
You squinted at what D had in his hand.
"Afro Samurai is 20 years old as well.  You know that and not Cowboy Bebop? You put shame on your house. Old Man.”
You gave him a sexy grin and sauntered away shaking your head.
Rafa had been watching the scene, head on a swivel. All he had to say after you left was, “Boom. Roasted.”
Daveed just chuckled, surprised and exhilarated at the same time. It seemed that you were up to letting loose a little bit.
He looked at Rafa who just watched Daveed falling. He couldn’t catch him this time.
"Man. Tonight looks like the beginning of an EPIC weekend,” Rafa said as he pushed some more dvds into Daveed’s cart.
Then he pulled a pack of Magnum XLs off the shelf that he had been hiding under his arm from you.
Daveed looked at him. Rafa stared back.
“What?  All these beautiful women on this island. I’m not gonna be unprepared or take any chances.”
Daveed shook his head, grimaced and looked around to see where you went, but you were nowhere to be found.
----
You were busy eating some Hot Cheetos that you’d grabbed on the chip aisle and were turning down the candy aisle when you saw Grumpy Care Bear standing there with a basket full of food, dvds and shit, looking at some sour patch kids.
"Oh hell,"  you said as you turned right back around.
"Ay, yo.  Lindy. You can get your candy. I'm not going to assault you with my inferior anime knowledge."
He laughed that sexy laugh and held up his hands. He sort of regretted calling you back because you walking away...Damn. Even in the Pikachu onesie.
Daveed continued to hold up his hands to show he didn't intend any harm, a smile on the lips that were your weakness earlier.  Fuck me, you thought.
You smiled back at him and went for the Jelly Bellys. You crunched loudly on your Cheetos as you clocked him out on the low. You felt bad. A little.
"Look, I'm sorry about that in the dvds.  I'm just passionate about what I like."
Daveed wondered if you liked him. Like liked him liked him. He allowed himself to go there.
You sucked the Cheeto dust off your fingers and it was making D feel some kinda way as he watched your fingers go in and out of your mouth. His eyes began to slide down your body.
He needed to stop. Daveed cleared his throat and looked at your face.
"No problem. I get it. It's all good."
Diggs unconsciously licked his lips and grinned, causing you to stare for a second at his casual hotness. This couldn't continue. You frowned.
Daveed sensed the change in mood, grabbed his Sour Patch kids and backed away.
“I’ll leave you to it.”
That was a close call you thought as you felt some weird pang of disappointment at him leaving. But it was what it was.
Soon enough, you all left the store.  Rafa stole some of your Jelly Belly’s. You just handed over the pack to him and pulled out some more. You were prepared.
==================
When the crew finally got to the house, you dropped your bags and ran to the beach, celebrating four days of freedom from work, acting, fame, fortune, and expectations.
After a few minutes of staring at the waves, y’all made your way back up to the house.
When you walked in before Jazzy turned the lights on, you recognized a large dark expanse which seemed to be the back wall. As your eyes got adjusted, you noticed the white rolls of the waves on the shore.
The back wall was floor to ceiling glass.  When the lights came up, it turned into a mirror and 6 characters in onesies stared back at you.
You were at the back of an open concept space with a huge u-shaped sectional sofa and a beautiful, big kitchen with a bar.
Tumblr media
Daaaammmmmmnnn! This place is gorgeous!  Craig’s mouth was hanging open. You reached over and closed it.
“Welcome to our home away from home!” Anthony was bleary eyed and smiling wide.
He pointed to the right of the house.
“Me and Jazzy’s room is over there,” he then pointed to the right of the house.
“The birthday girl’s room is opposite over there, a mirror of the master,” then he pointed to the back of the house behind you and to the right,  “and the other four bedrooms are here.”
Ant started pulling their luggage toward their room, talking over his shoulder.
“Everybody gets their own room, even me, when I fuck up.”
All of you cracked up laughing whole Jasmine nodded her head.
It was almost 4 am, so you all were tired.  You gladly pulled your suitcase to your room, feeling grateful and warm for being the guest of honor of your friends.  Your room was the bomb.
You walked into a spacious room with bamboo wood floors, and exposed wooden beam ceilings and several floor to ceiling windows.  There was a huge fluffy white rug under a comfortable king sized bed in the middle of the room.
Two uniquely designed bamboo lounge chairs and white pillow ottomans faced a window where you could look through and see the pool and beach.
Tumblr media
It was a luxury get away and right now, all you wanted was a shower and the bed.
You put your suitcase on the floor and got down and opened it.  You shook your head at what you saw.
“HOLY FUCK GOT DAMN SHIT!!!!”
Daveed, Craig and Jasmine came running at your screams.  Rafa and Ant were behind.
“What happened.”
You were embarrassed. But so irritated.
“Craig. You got the wrong suitcase.  This is Mark’s shit that he never came to get.  None of my clothes are here.  I have nothing to wear.”  You felt like crying.
“I’m sorry Lindy, you said that your summer clothes and bathing suits were in the rolling soft Louis bag…”
I mean the large one. This is the medium one. It’s okay, Craig.
“You have nothing to wear hunh?”
Daveed was smirking at you and you ignored it, crossing your arms and tapping your foot.
“But it’s perfect!”  You looked at Jasmine and her chipper British accent.
“We can go shopping for your birthday tomorrow. Treat yourself!”
You couldn’t help but smile at Jazzy’s happiness. She was right. Rafa and Ant went away and left y’all to that talk. Daveed was glued to his spot.
“OOooooh. Good Idea.” Craig was in.
“Ok.I’m tired as fuck. I just wanna shower and sleep now. I’ll not need anything tonight.
Daveed couldn’t get the image of you in the shower and naked in bed out of his head now. He cleared his throat.
“I can give you something to wear shopping tomorrow, Lindy.”
His voice was soft.  You smiled at him and he was a goner.
“Man, you are like three times bigger than she is?”  Jasmine didn’t understand.
“Hold up. Are you willing to sacrifice, D?  Can we cut up one of your t-shirts and jeans?”
Daveed felt pain. The only t-shirts he had were Oaklandish.
“Let’s compromise. You can cut my jeans all you want, but not the shirt.”
Craig smiled wide.  “Deal, if you throw in a belt.”
“Damn, Diggs…” was all that Jasmine said, smiling and shaking her head.
“Thank you Daveed. I appreciate it.” You were blown away.
Daveed played it off. “No problem…” And then he just turned around and walked out of your room.
“Girlllllllll!!!!”  Craig and Jasmine squealed at you and it took you a minute to get them out of your room.
You walked into the en suite bathroom and marveled at its beauty. It was large, with a huge tub and a walk in glass encased shower with an overhead waterfall  shower head.
You turned on the shower to get it hot, stripped off your onesie and your underwear, wrapped yourself in a towel and went back into the bedroom.
You stopped short, because there was Daveed standing in your room, clothes in hand.
He had immediately gone to find his least favorite jeans and the Oakland shirt that would suit you the best.  He decided that you would look beautiful in blue.
You just in a towel was a sight to behold. He was sure that underneath that towel was paradise.
You stared at each other for a minute, Your eyes were glued to his.
“Th-thank you again Daveed.”  He couldn’t discern if your hesitant, sexy voice was for him or from embarrassment.
“Sorry, I…. didn’t think you’d be… sorry.” He put his hands up and backed out of the room.
“Daveed.” You called, softly. “Stop.”
You approached him with a smile on your face. Daveed’s eyes were wide, not knowing what was going to happen.
“Thank you. I mean it.”
You stood on your tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek, your lips lingering. Daveed closed his eyes and fought the urge to grab you and hold you close to him.
“You’re welcome.” His smile wrinkled his eyes as he smiled down at you.
“Goodnight, Linden. Have sweet dreams for me.”
You just stared at him as he turned and left the room.
Daveed was just outside your door when he heard your reply.
“Yes, Sir.”

Aqua’s Live Reactions: “Quackity Visits Dream and Technoblade in Prison”
So... as it turns out, time zones, sleep, school and more school do not mix well with DSMP lore, since I’m currently typing the start of this post during my lunch break about 11 hours after the lore drop - the lore drop happened less than an hour before I was gonna sleep (which is already a fucked up sleep schedule on my part), so obviously I couldn’t watch the damn lore stream... and like 4 people did a loredrop today, so I’m prioritizing c!Quackity POV above c!Techno POV (might watch c!Techno POV later) and reacting to his side of the story first. Oh, and this is posted more than 11 hours after the lore drop because I have supplementary classes after school, mandatory school-sanctioned stuff, and I’m not risking a truancy record for the lore streams, especially NOT during my final year at secondary school.
Here’s a disclaimer: I’m watching the VOD and know next to nothing that has happened because I refused to check my notifications for over 12 hours just so I can get a genuine reaction out of this. I might have caught a glimpse of a spoiler while I was barely awake, but outside of trigger warnings that I asked for and that the TV Tropes (iconic/signature) quotes page has updated, that’s about it.
This whole post is within the context of the SMP, so /rp and /dsmp applies to everything under the cut.
0:00 - Since I’m watching the VOD, I get to see the comments in full glory. cc!Quackity has commented “oh no”. Oh no indeed. I am not sure what to expect. Something has happened, and it is bad, I can feel the vibes. Also, the comments have spoilers. Rough times.
0:14 - The netherite axe has so low durability......
0:20 - Holy shit, the shears are named “Wardens Torment”. They actually named the shears to be a torture implement
0:33 - Q why do you have like 5 bottles of enchanting, I don’t know what that’s for but I think it’s plot relevant in some way
0:58 - “ringing that stupid bell” LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE BELL FROM THE LAST VISIT!!!!! TECHNO YOU CHEEKY BASTARD /pos
1:35 - “This is the most secure place on the entire server” and what if the nuke is hidden there? The missing Snowchester nuke? It’s just a theory, but I’m in the mood for a conspiracy at the moment
1:54 - “the point is the revival book” no it isn’t, you said it yourself in the last big lore stream
2:19 - “there’s two of them and one of me” yeah, q, i know. i know you. your weaknesses. and how you suppressed one of your own strengths to be able to do this shit. i know all about you.
2:25 - “they could do anything” ...paranoid tendencies much? I mean you’re right to be wary but still...
2:33 - really? an ad at this time? ffs the number of ads on youtube has only gone up since covid started........ i hate it here /neg
2:50 - “sleep. just in case something bad happens” oh i know..... this sounds like foreshadowing
2:55 - THE BELL SAD;FJASL;KJS;DALKFJAS;ZDJFAS;ZLDFKJAS; LMAOOOO WE CAN HEAR IT FROM BEYOND THE LAVA CURTAIN THIS IS AMAZING
3:14 - “it’s a long story” oh does sam know about dreamxd now?
3:35 - “I hope this is the last time I have to be here” oh q........ there’s some meaning behind this quote. i know it. but for the life of me, i can’t figure it out yet... does this mean you want to kill the two fuckers in there or something? you know techno has like all 3 of his lives intact, right? he’s gonna... well, I think you know what happened the last time you tried to knock him down a peg
3:46 - “it’s for the good of the country as well” ah yes so las nevadas is aligned with the prison officially? police state /j i mean it’s always been unofficially there but still...
4:30 - ah, so he admits it
4:32 - HOW DID THEY GET A DOG?? I understand q’s reaction fully. “What” indeed.
4:40 - sam’s right, the lava is acting weird. did dream and techno sabotage it or something? I remember how techno’s last couple of streams ended, or at least I’ve heard enough about it........... i think it’s sabotage
5:08 - “<Technoblade> cringe” LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IT’S SO TYPICAL OF HIM. HE’S BACK. MY LITTLE OINK OINK. /HJ
5:31 - oh so now DREAM is onto something? what do you MEAN you don’t have time and to hurry up?? do they have a plan in there or something? i know this episode is a jailbreak waiting to happen but there’s something bigger at play here, I feel
5:52 - LMAOOOOOO WAIT. WAIT. DREAM STILL HAS HIS LAVENDER RIBBON FROM THE LAST MCC ON. HOW DOES THIS MAKE SENSE IN A CANONICAL WAY. HOW. EXPLAIN.
5:53 - also sam WHAT DO YOU MEAN TO “KILL THE DOG”??? THAT’S A WHOLE PUPPER IN THERE. I mean I don’t sympathize much with c!Dream or c!Techno that much but I want to know how tf the dog got in there first at least
5:56 - q says “i’m not gonna kill a puppy-” sam says to kill the dog. well at least someone here has a semblance of morals here /j
6:28 - oh so it begins... he’s here... this is gonna be fun /s
6:44 - TECHNO DOESN’T KNOW WHY THE DOG IS THERE EITHER LMAO THIS IS RICH THIS IS EPIC
6:59 - love how they’re all just attached to the dog now. great job everyone (sincerely)... except dream. we know he refuses to name the dog because he thinks attachments are gross. we all know that.
7:07 - “let’s call it rat” RAT IS CANON LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
7:14 - “i would never respect someone who named their dog ‘rat’.” ok so is this make fun of bbh week now?? irl “rat” is just a nickname but everyone calls her that so-
7:23 - did techno seriously just try to knock him into the lava??
7:46 - ok so sam is pointing a bow at the jail squad- yeah... why. he has a good question. why, sir warden, why?
9:32 - ah. leverage. i see what you did. as if we all didn’t know from the start.
9:55 - LMAO. hostage situation that’s a win-win, and techno... we all know both of you can strangle this man with your bare hands. also the last time you tried to kill techno, we all saw what happened. /hj
10:00 - “that’s kinda harsh” no shit sherlock also HOW NONCHALANT DO YOU HAVE TO BE FOR THIS
10:08 - “Don’t do it.” Techno, you’re just feeding the toxic Rivals Duo fans at this point. Also, are you just trying to preserve your reputation of “never dying” or do you genuinely care? Because I doubt you do tbh...
10:38 - ads. gross.
10:46 - “doesn’t that kinda work out?” yeah, techno, point out the holes in q’s plans. I might disagree with your moral standpoint and compass but I’m allowed to find you funny and cool... yeah I love him too, my snarky boi
11:14 - looks like someone finally had the common sense to roast the potatoes over the lava.
11:23 - I’m just imagining the scenario in-universe because if we’re going by characters’ canon heights (plus some speculation for c!techno based on his cc’s height irl), c!quackity is the shortest one of the three so him threatening the other two is ngl a weirdly funny sight to see
11:42 - and that’s the point, dream. quackity gets the revive-book, and the whole server can be rid of you. that’s the point, good sir. we don’t want you here.
12:23 - q you’re sounding borderline hysterical here. you’re sounding almost desperate. i don’t know if this is intentional or not but you’re sounding... vulnerable.
14:08 - we all saw through that, both in and out of universe. you’re making it very obvious that you don’t want dream to give him the book, techno.
14:40 - y’all sounding half hysterical at this point
15:36 - ah yes trauma dumping time /hj /rp
15:52 - oh so he wants poetic justice, huh? should have gone the whole hog and brought a netherite pick instead of a diamond one.
15:59 - he’s gone. he’s fuckin’ gone. just before he could actually do the pickaxe thing. holy shit. lmao... in all seriousness though, I heard Techno was gonna get out earlier... I’m guessing through the enderpearl stasis chambers or whatever? this is gonna be fun..................
16:34 - i love how c!dream is still eating raw fukin’ potatoes. we all saw techno with cooked ones, right? why’s he still eating it raw? tell me
16:58 - “bring back the fridge” sir it’s in a dumpster, your honour
18:58 - ANOTHER AD??
19:53 - “if he could have escaped all this time then why didn’t he escape earlier” the will.............. philza opened it up,..... we called it, it was time
20:10 - bruh. can’t see the green boy. is he gone? i doubt it.
20:20 - the toilet. check the toilet. shawshank redemption or whatever it’s called, I’ve only heard of hamshank redemption from angry birds toons but check the fuckin’ loo, the toilet
21:10 - q is still hysterical, sam is still in denial, techno is probably back in the arctic, and my bet is that dream currently smells like shit in the most literal way
22:04 - oh no. loud noises. is this the alarm trigger warning I’ve heard of?
23:35 - what the fuck are those ender pearls doing there
23:50 - what’s to bet those are barrier blocks or something?
26:02 - underground base???!! also internal monologue time???!!!!
26:24 - ah. dramatic music.
26:55 - time is ticking..............
27:02 - battle log................
27:07 - “las nevadas has become a prime target”... for what? whose pov is this again?
27:11 - “dream has escaped prison” first of all, I doubt it, and second of all, ah ok, c!q pov still
27:28 - paranoia?? descent into paranoia?
27:43 - it’s raining outside las nevadas...........
27:47 - yo. yo this is huge. the lore drought has finally ended with the rain. also this was epic.

First Line Tag Game!!
I was tagged by @idontonlytalkaboutdcmk
Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have less than 20, just list them all). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favorite opening line, then tag 10 of your favorite authors!
I’ll try to go from more recent to older (date of the creation of the doc will be written in MM/YYYY format), but this might not correspond to the time the sentence was actually written. (I might have missed some stuff but, oh well, whatever.)
1- (04/2021) Aizawa meets Izuku AU (MHA, OS in progress)
It was luck that brought Shouta here.
2- (03/2021) Vigilante Yagi AU (MHA, in-progress, either a long-fic or a serie of OS)
All Might has been a hero longer than he has ever been Yagi Toshinori.
3- (02/2021) Dad For All AU (MHA, various blurb on tumblr so far, most likely a longfic)
Izuku was trying really hard not to panic. One second he was fighting a villain with a still unknown quirk, the next he found himself __ years in the past, according to the news report currently going on TV.
4- (02/2021) Midoriya Inko’s Guide To Good Parenthood (MHA, in progress, probably a serie of OS?)
Midoriya Inko isn’t anything special. She's 30 going on 52, has a really bad case of anxiety, can and will cry for any reasons, and has gotten so many grey hair from her son's shenanigans its a wonder she still has green hair.
5- (12/2020) The Kids Will Be Alright (DCMK, spin-off of Sharpen Your Knives)
Ran was running. Fast, fast, faster, not fast enough. She put all her strength in her legs, went as fast as she could.
6- (11/2020) Before the coffee gets cold - The Sisters (DCMK, OS published on AO3)
It was probably foolish of her to come back to this place. But, on the off chance that the rumours were true, she wanted to give it a chance.
7- (11/2020) Sharpen Your Knives (DCMK, in-progress longfic, won’t be published for a long while)
Shinichi has no idea how things could have gone so wrong, so quickly.
8- (08/2020) The Time Travel Road Trip Case (DCMK, spin-off of Who The F- Is This) (technically not the first lines, but it’s the first part I’ve written)
Shinichi(Conan) felt someone lift him up from the back, he turned his face as he came level with their chest, one look at their face and…
Well, guess he found KID.
9- (06/2020) Who The F- Is This (DCMK, longfic in progress, the first chapters are on AO3)
Shinichi’s head was throbbing. He felt like someone was playing drums with his head. What has happened?
10- (06/2020) Harrinichi Kupotter (DCMK & Harry Potter x-over, longfic in progress)
Shinichi doesn't really believe in superior beings, gods or the supernatural. So far everything in his life could be explained by science and very human tricks.
11- (03/2019) Naobuza & Raphtaku AU (The Rising of the Shield Hero & Naruto x-over, an old baby I keep coming back to)
If you were to ask anyone to tell you about Naofumi Iwatani, those who remember him would tell you that he’s a weird kid. There’s something otherwordly about him, as if he was evolving in a totally different universe from them.
12- (01/2019) The self-indulgent FMA TT au (FMA, an old project that I should go back to, someday)
Somehow, sometimes, Ed felt like there was some being out there, out for him.
13- (01/2019) Nanadaime time travel AU (Naruto, will most likely be an OS, one day I will finish it enough to post it on AO3)
It was a late night In the Hokage office, one of many. As was usual by now, the Hokage was filling paperwork at his desk, his right-hand-man filling his own number of files at his side.
14- (11/2018) Baby Ed saving the world with hugs and punches (FMA, an old project that I will go back to)
On a warm night during the summer of 2005, as the sun left it’s place for the shining stars, Edward Elric went to sleep for the last time besides his lovely wife, in the house he has rebuilt with his own two hands.
15- (06/2018) The roadtrip 03Ed never knew he needed (FMA03/CoS & Fantastic Beasts and where to find them x-over, a serie of OS)
He wasnt sure what brought him back here.
Maybe he just wanted to make sure Envy was dead, one monster less in this world. Or maybe he just wanted to make sure there was no way between both world (no way to go home.)
16- (04/2018) Badass Women Roleswap AU (FMA, I still sometime go back to it, will most likely be a serie of OS)
Ed didn’t have many memories of his father. He could remember a tall man, who always looked sad. A giant who always had trouble when it came to holding him and his brother. A figure always working in his study. A person who always looked sad when teaching them alchemy.
17- (03/2018) FMA TT fic I wasnt planning to expend (FMA, old project, I will get back to it.) (it is, also, the first fanfic idea I got when I got back into writing fics)
Nothing happened as it should have been. No matter everything they’ve done to try and stop him, the dwarf in the flask still managed to bypass it all and, in some way, reach his goal.
And that’s pretty much it for any written stuff I got (anything else is too old)
Bonus: A la recherche du canard (Looking for the duck) - it’s an old assignment I had for french class, where we had to pick an article and write a short story based on it. (When I say old, I mean it’s from 2012 - it’s a good way to see how far I’ve come). It’s honestly really bad but I did have a lot of fun back then. (This is a translated from french version btw) (yes I stole names from Hetalia I was always terrible at finding names for characters)
The sun shined upon the sleeping man face, who opened his bright blue eyes. He got up suddenly, throwing his blanket on the ground. Today would be the day where he, Alfred F. Jones, Yorkville police officer, would accomplish his mission: keeping an eye on the annual fair set-up.
So, observations: You can very clearly see me go through various fandom phases it’s funny. Also my naming skills for the AUs got slightly better (but not that much.) I do tend to drop a name (usually the person from whom the POV is) in those first sentences. The first paragraph tend to get shorter with time (which might simply be because I realised I tend to lose focus when it gets too long.) I also never start on dialogue, generally I go for the POV’s thought uh.
I do quite like the ones for the Vigilante Yagi AU and the Midoriya Inko’s guide, The Kids Will Be Alright too. Badass Women I like it but also am not 100% happy with it.
This mostly made me want to share even more about these stories to y’all.
Anyway! Tagging @whoever wants to do it! I’m not sure whom I follow has already done it/been tagged or not, uuuuhhh, maybe @artistfingers ? If you’re a writer and wants to do it then go for it and tag me I guess.

1. What is one thing you will never do again? Watch The Hours. Film itself is great, but is way too triggering.
2. Would you rather be twice as smart or twice as happy? I’d take happiness easily. It’s not bad for the most part to make mistakes and I’d rather be too clumsy than be altogether miserable.
3. What happened the last time you cried? It was the day of what would’ve been our anniversary and at that moment I was alone in my car at a parking lot (waiting for the office to open) on a gloomy day. I just had to cry and let my feelings out for like 5 minutes to accept everything but I was immediately fine afterwards, haha. Grief can be funny.
4. What happened the time in your life when you were the most nervous to do something? My first job interview. It was my first adult thing ever. They never got back to me - very professional of them - but I was still grateful for the experience nonetheless.
5. What would your parents be surprised to learn about you? That I was in a whole ass relationship for technically 6 1/2 years. They probably have an inkling by now, but only about me being in a relationship. I’m sure they would be very surprised if they ever found out how long it had actually gone for.
6. What’s your worst habit? I pick at my toenails when I’m nervous or stressed. I tend to do this when I’m doing a work task that I particularly dread, and sometimes I’ll end up being fixated on the habit for like 10 minutes straight and not get anything done.
7. What superpower would you have for one day? Time travel, just to take quick trips to multiple decades and see how life was like during those times.
8. What fictional character do you have the biggest crush on? Matty from 13 Going on 30 would be one of them. Albert Finney’s character in Two for the Road is also charming as fuck.
9. Where would you live if you could live anywhere in the world? If money wasn’t an issue, probably somewhere cozy in like Switzerland or Canada.
10. What is your most bizarre pet peeve? Not necessarily a pet peeve but I get extremely uncomfortable when someone hands me a gift then they insult the gift while in front of me, saying it’s not a great gift or that I probably don’t need it, etc. Filipinos also have this habit of saying something along the lines of, “You earn way more than me so you’d probably think this gift sucks” like how do you want me to react :(((((( I love receiving gifts and the idea of being thought about already means a lot to me, so it just makes me wince a little bit when I hear statements like the above.
11. Who knows you the best? Gabie, probably. I’ve changed a lot since then, though.
12. What after school activities did you do in high school? Clubs were mandatory extracurricular activities in my high school; in my time, I joined the table tennis and yearbook clubs.
13. What “most likely to” superlative would you be most honored to receive? Idk, we didn’t have those in school. I probably would have been honored to get a journalism-themed one though; something like Most Likely To Write for NYT or Most Likely to Win a Pulitzer or something like that. Obviously that’s changed now and I’ve long let go of journalism as a passion.
14. What’s the last book you really loved? I haven’t read in a long, long while.
15. What was the greatest television show of all time? I don’t watch a lot of TV so I’m not the most credible decision-making body for this lol, but out of all the shows I’ve watched the best one would easily be Breaking Bad.
16. What’s been your favorite age so far? 16. Life was insanely easygoing back then and everything fell into place for me at the time.
17. If you could go back in time, what is one piece of advice you would give your younger self? Know when it’s enough. Be kind to yourself.
18. What one thing would you be most disappointed if you never got to experience it? Have kids.
19. Apologize or ask permission? I don’t understand the relationship between the two.
20. Unlimited love or money? I would love to never have to worry about finances ever again.
21. If you knew you would die in one week, what would you do? Take a week-long leave for work, spend all my money, bond with my dogs, throw a party for my closest friends, and honestly, make my peace with her.
22. What’s your most listened to song? Spotify doesn’t show that feature, but I bet it’s from Paramore or Hayley anyway. It would be impossible to know my most-listened to song of all time, like if we took into account my Spotify, iTunes, etc.
23. Beach vacation or European vacation? I need a beach vacation badly, but a European vacation would be a new and different experience. I’d take the latter.
24. If you could have been a child prodigy what would you have wanted to be skilled at? Playing the piano.
25. What’s the first thing you would do if you won the lottery? Depends on how much I won lmao. I’d probably retire this early if the money was big enough since I’m pretty stingy anyway. But generally, I would like to pay off whatever bills my parents are currently paying for, get back the car that we had to sell because of the pandemic, and maybe go for a solo vacation or five heheh.
26. What celebrity would you trade lives with? Kylie Jenner, for a day. Just so I can briefly have a taste of how being that rich is like.
27. If you were a performing artist, what would you title your first album? Nope.
28. What story do your friends still give you crap about? Staying with Gab despite the red flags that glared for four whole years is one of them. Angela will also never let go of that one time I tried some kind of fruit juice in high school and I described it as ‘packs a punch.’ It’s understood as a super Westernized idiom where I live and literally no one uses it in a casual sentence, so it was a hit with her and now we use ‘packs a punch’ whenever we want to describe something awesome or surprising.
29. If earth could only have one condiment for the rest of time, what would you pick to keep around? Mayonnaise and I will die on this mayonnaise-coated hill.
30. What is the ideal number of people to have over on a Friday night? Ideally? At this point? Like 20. I would love for that to be the case on the first Friday we can consider the Philippines COVID-free.
31. What was the worst age you’ve been so far? Sorry for yet another incoming Paramore reference but they literally have a lyric that goes, “22 is like, the worst idea that I have ever had.” Before turning 22 I used to think it was a weird line, like how could 22 possibly be unenjoyable? Now I’m 22 in a pandemic going through a rough breakup and I can’t even see my friends nor work in my first workplace ever.
32. What is your weirdest dealbreaker? If they wanted only cats as pets. I can deal with a dog and a cat, I guess; but cats were never fond of me so I feel like I’d struggle with this situation lol.
33. What fictional character reminds you most of yourself? Mr. Peanutbutterrrrrrr. Has a lot of love to give, doesn’t always use it on the right people. Also lives on pleasing others.
34. Do you believe in karma? Just to a tiny extent, in how I would want people’s awful actions to come bite them in the ass one day. It’s not a philosophy that controls my life and the things I do whatsoever.
35. What was your favorite TV show as a kid? My absolute favorite was Hi-5, with the original cast. As I got older my interests shifted to Spongebob and The Fairly OddParents.
36. What is the weirdest thing you find attractive in a person? I don’t think it’s weird, but I don’t hear thighs too often when people list down their favorite physical traits. It’s certainly one of mine.
37. What Jeopardy! category would you clear, no problem? A Friends-themed one, obviously. This reminds me of the Jeopardy night I had with some friends a few nights ago! That was so much fun, and Andi makes really great and fun questions hahaha.
38. What is something you’re superstitious about? I don’t think I am about anything.
39. What is the scariest experience you have ever had? Maybe that night my grandpa went into a drunk rampage. I was 9, right in his line of sight, frozen and scared shitless, and I didn’t know who he was going to strike next.
40. Who is a non-politician you wish would run for office? I never really think about this. If someone’s a non-politician then there must be a reason they aren’t, lol.
41. What cheesey song do you have memorized? Little Things by One Direction is very cheesy and it’s one of my least favorite songs of theirs, but I still have it memorized out of habit.
42. What one dead person would you most like to have dinner with, if it were possible? My great-grandpa died all the way back in the 70s, even before some of my aunts and uncles could meet him. It would be cool to spend time with him.
43. Do you think it’s important to stay up to date with the news? Yeah, absolutely. I have the stomach for it lol, so I always monitor what’s happening locally and globally. Skipping the news from time to time is fine because I get how anxiety-inducing and depressing some events can be, but there’s a huge difference between ignoring the news for your mental health and being indifferent altogether. I’d immediately judge anyone who’s the latter, and would assume you are incredibly privileged.
44. What is the best present you could ever receive? My money refunded -____________- I had food delivered to my director, Bea’s house as a surprise earlier today, but apparently I ran into a scammer driver and the fucker drove away with the meal I had bought for Bea. I reported the driver and the situation, and thankfully the customer service rep of the food delivery app quickly responded and said they’d return the full amount I paid for; but I still haven’t received it.
45. Would you give up one of your fingers if it meant you’d have free wifi wherever you go, for the rest of your life? No. Mobile data exists for a reason.
46. What’s the first thing you’d do if you were the opposite sex for one day? Check out my voice.
47. If someone told you you could give one person a present and your budget was unlimited–what present would you get and for whom? I’d love to surprise Angela with an overseas trip that would last for like a month. Traveling is one thing we have yet to do as best friends.
48. What is the nicest thing someone could say about you? Nothing particular, but it makes me happy when people call me strong and when they validate the shit I’ve gone through over the years.
49. Giant house in a subdivision or tiny house somewhere with a view? I would take the giant house. When it comes to my own place, I would want to have a lot of space to roam around.
50. What is the weirdest quirk your family has? Nothing is coming to mind.

Fantastic Four Vol 1 #240
Thur Dec 17 2020 [11:47 PM] Wack'd: We open on Pietro! He took off running from the Himalayas and has been running for like a week straight, all the way to the Baxter Building. [11:47 PM] Bocaj: He has really good shoes [11:48 PM] Wack'd: Pietro has not stopped for the creepy robot secretary. He has instead approached Ben in the dead of night while he's hiding Franklin's Christmas presents. [11:48 PM] Wack'd: Three guesses what happens next and the first two don't count. [11:49 PM] maxwellelvis: BANG! ZOOM! [11:49 PM] Wack'd: Yeeeeep. [11:49 PM] maxwellelvis: Straight to the Moon! [11:49 PM] Umbramatic: oh no [11:49 PM] Wack'd: No, I don't think the Inhumans are on the moon yet 😛 [11:50 PM] Wack'd: Oh no! Frankie's becoming a gritty antihero to appeal to today's cynical youth!
Tumblr media
[11:51 PM] maxwellelvis: DO IT! [11:52 PM] Wack'd: Reed breaks up the fight. Turns out Quicksilver didn't recognize Ben's new face and assumed he was also an intruder. [11:52 PM] Wack'd: Reed is concerned that Ben does not angst when explaining the situation. [11:52 PM] Bocaj: ...... [11:53 PM] Wack'd: I...guess it makes sense? Ben is actually historically very bad at being stoic and closed-off. He mopes! It's what he does [11:54 PM] Umbramatic: Ben Angst™️ [11:54 PM] Wack'd: Anyway, Pietro fills in the backstory, and we're...actually circling back to Medusa having been abducted by a shadowy organization? [11:55 PM] Wack'd: I assumed we'd probably quietly forget about that one. [11:55 PM] Wack'd: So this organization is called The Enclave and they start bombing Attilan, declaring war with the help of their man on the inside. [11:56 PM] Wack'd: Again, three guesses. [11:56 PM] Bocaj: Oh, they're relevant to the avengers annual I'm currently reading for liveblog [11:56 PM] Bocaj: Neat [11:57 PM] maxwellelvis: Ooh! Ooh! I know! I know how their man on the inside is! [11:57 PM] Wack'd: Yes, max? [11:57 PM] maxwellelvis: Correct! [11:57 PM] maxwellelvis: Maximus the Mad, smart guy [11:57 PM] Umbramatic: ITS PIKACHU [11:58 PM] Wack'd: Yeah it's Maximus. [11:58 PM] Umbramatic: FUCK [11:58 PM] maxwellelvis: It's ALWAYS Maximus [11:58 PM] Wack'd: So not only are they at war but now there's also a mysterious illness. [11:58 PM] Bocaj: Hu hu hu [11:58 PM] Wack'd: And Inhumans are dying by the dozens. [11:58 PM] Bocaj: Suuuure [11:59 PM] Bocaj: Do any of them have names is my question [11:59 PM] maxwellelvis: He's like Loki without the Puckish charm [11:59 PM] Bocaj: Yeah Maximus is basically a worse Loki [11:59 PM] Wack'd: @Bocaj Probably not. [11:59 PM] Bocaj: I don't mean more monstrous I just mean. Just less in all regards [12:00 AM] Wack'd: Johnny pokes a hole in this: why the fuck didn't Pietro just take Lockjaw? And apparently Lockjaw is refusing to leave Crystal's side until it's confirmed the Four will turn up. [12:00 AM] Umbramatic: pupper [12:00 AM] Wack'd: (Personally I think Bryne just really liked the image of Pietro running for a week but what do I know) [12:01 AM] Wack'd: And so with the confirmation given Lockjaw arrives and whisks everyone back to Attilan! Everyone except Frankie who still needs to train apparently before she can handle Inhuman stuff. [12:01 AM] Bocaj: Inhuman Quest not unlocked until Lvl 10 [12:01 AM] Wack'd: And Franklin, who's asleep. [12:02 AM] Wack'd: Johnny: Jeez, this place hasn't looked this bad since I--uh--y'know what never mind
Tumblr media
[12:03 AM] maxwellelvis: "Rince ROU ried ro rurn rit rown!" [12:04 AM] Bocaj: Thanks Scoob [12:04 AM] Wack'd: You know, normally I'd complain that we've completely skipped the actual story and all the interesting stuff happened off panel, but. This is an Inhumans story. I don't think we missed much.
Tumblr media
[12:05 AM] Bocaj: Wow everything really did happen off panel [12:05 AM] Bocaj: Hahah wow [12:05 AM] Wack'd: Not quite! [12:06 AM] Wack'd: Black Bolt is very sick and is using his lifeforce to keep all the Inhumans alive. Uh. Somehow. [12:06 AM] Bocaj: Probably tuning fork magic [12:06 AM] Wack'd: Fortunately it's the same pollution disease Crystal had forever ago which Reed couldn't cure, but now he can, and everything's fine. [12:06 AM] Wack'd: This all happens inside of two pages. [12:06 AM] Umbramatic: s'fine [12:07 AM] Wack'd: OH [12:07 AM] Wack'd: OKAY [12:07 AM] Wack'd: Did not know what happens next was a John Bryne plot point but I guess it is?? [12:07 AM] Wack'd: So Reed says the anecdote is only temporary, and Inhumans will continue to have problems because there is no place left on Earth that truly has clean air. [12:08 AM] Bocaj: Time to go to the MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON? [12:08 AM] Wack'd: No place left on Earth. [12:08 AM] Wack'd: Yep! We're doin this [12:10 AM] Wack'd: The same book that gave us the Clone Saga also gave us the idea that you can just move Attilan around, apparently! Wild
Tumblr media
[12:10 AM] Wack'd: Thanks, What If #30 [12:11 AM] Bocaj: Cool of you to pose next to the moon, reed [12:12 AM] Bocaj: -google what if 30- Ah, a non what if story where the Eternals help the Inhumans move Attilan. No wonder they had to put it in with a spider story, otherwise nobody would have bought it [12:12 AM] Wack'd: You know, I wouldn't have called this issue good before this point, but it was one where the flaws were entirely technical.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[12:13 AM] Wack'd: A little too much to ask for, I guess [12:13 AM] Bocaj: God [12:13 AM] Wack'd: Don't free your slaves! They're stupid and will die without your noble guidance! [12:13 AM] Wack'd: Jesus. [12:14 AM] Bocaj: So, hey, Byrne. 'Buddy'? This pretty closely echoes actual real world racist rhetoric so maybe don't? [12:15 AM] Wack'd: So, uh, Attilan takes off. Black Bolt takes the time to carve a gravestone for Maximus in the Himalayas. [12:16 AM] Wack'd: SHIELD takes notice. This might be important later. Or it might not. Who knows. [12:19 AM] Bocaj: I don't think its too important to this story but the plot, such as it is, in the Avengers Annual 12 I'm currently on further fills in the holes for this enclave plot and also reveals that when the UN discovers the Inhumans on the Moon they're furious that the FF just. Did that. And didn't tell anyone. [12:19 AM] Wack'd: "I am sworn not to interfere! So, y'know, thanks for dropping a buncha slavers on my doorstep. I'm on a diet, you wanna leave behind a quart of ice cream while you're at it?"
Tumblr media
[12:19 AM] Bocaj: Hah [12:19 AM] maxwellelvis: And Byrne takes Uatu back to the weird toddler proportions. [12:20 AM] maxwellelvis: That was a thing when he was on X-Men, too. [12:20 AM] Bocaj: I think I prefer the weird toddler proportions to when he has a man body and a baby head [12:20 AM] Bocaj: its. unpleasant [12:22 AM] Bocaj: Fun pointless trivia: Uatu already has neighbors [12:22 AM] Bocaj: Its going to later be retconned that the Kree and Skrull assholes that killed each other on the moon during the dark phoenix saga [12:22 AM] Bocaj: Didn't die [12:22 AM] Bocaj: And just kept fighting to the death for a year [12:22 AM] Bocaj: In the blue area [12:23 AM] Bocaj: I wonder which neighbors he prefers [12:23 AM] maxwellelvis: Uatu with more realistic proportions looks like Zontar [12:23 AM] Wack'd: And so, the story comes to a heartwarming end with Reed being a racist
Tumblr media
[12:23 AM] Bocaj: Panel 1 quicksilver sure is a thing [12:23 AM] Bocaj: The fuck is wrong with his face [12:24 AM] maxwellelvis: John Byrne just really hates him, I think. [12:24 AM] Bocaj: (That applies to panel 1 quicksilver and also zontar uatu) [12:24 AM] Wack'd: And so in Inhumanville they say the Quicksilver's heart grew three sizes that day [12:25 AM] Bocaj: Until later when he took a level up in dickery and tried to expose his Normal Daughter to terrigenesis because he was upset she didn't have powers [12:25 AM] Bocaj: Writers just don't like Pietro [12:25 AM] Wack'd: I feel like I'm gonna have to pace myself on Bryne [12:26 AM] Bocaj: Would you say [12:26 AM] Bocaj: That you feel [12:26 AM] Bocaj: you might get [12:26 AM] Bocaj: Byrned out? [12:38 AM] Wack'd: Very possibly, yes!

when i’m happy oh god i’m happy
TW: alcohol abuse, non-graphic sexual content, unhealthy coping mechanisms, self harm (in many forms), drug use, couchsurfing, mentions of delusions and paranoia, otherwise reckless behaviour
Note: this takes place in @illogicallyinclined’s hockey au and is a Prequel this is supposed to represent what Remus’s manic episodes look like everyone is different, but im using a mix of my own experiences with bipolar i and some friends who were willing to talk about theirs, then changing it to fit Remus’s existing Absolutely Feral personality, Jared and Payton are OC’s and teammates of Remus, the three of them are known for wrecking havoc at all times because none of them possess a braincell.
The art studio was empty, filled only by the assorted music of Remus’s sculpting playlist on the bluetooth speaker he brought in, and Remus himself. His hands glide through the wet clay and he basks in the slimy feeling between his fingers. Remus’s hair is held back by a small headband and he is wearing a tank top and jogging pants already covered in various mediums he has used through the day. He does not know where the energy to finish every project for this semester came from but he isn’t about to object.
If you were to look around this studio, there is a high contrast painting of a tentacle creature that is unsettling in an almost unidentifiable way, half of a self-portrait which uses resin teeth as the main element, as well as his current project of a large cup shaped like a decapitated head. In short, while Remus believes these are his best pieces, the chances of the university permitting them to be displayed are very low.
Remus gets frustrated that the music didn’t seem to be filling his inspiration in the way he hoped he changes the song revealing it to be approximately 4am, and no texts received since he sent D a picture if the teeth pile around 10pm.
“Can you go wake Remus up and ask if he wants any breakfast, he really shouldn’t sleep in this late, even if it is Saturday” D asks from the stove while Roman grabs his carton of milk from the fridge and doesn’t bother grabbing a cup.
D grimaces at him as he chugs back the milk, once again thankful that they have separate ones (even if that is at fault of Remus deciding to mix apple juice with milk in the carton without alerting anyone else in the household). “He actually headed out like, real early this morning, I spoke to him when I got up for a shower at like six. He said he’d be back today though?” Roman replied ignoring D’s look.
“Well, that’s even weirder. I’ll make extras so he can eat when he gets back, it's already eleven.”
“Sounds good,” Roman noticing D’s almost done slides a few plates next to him and accepts D’s soft ‘thanks’.
Suddenly they hear someone miss the keyhole three times before getting it and entering. Unsurprisingly, it’s Remus inappropriately dressed for a casual outing, surprisingly he seems to be holding several bags full of merchandise. “Helloo roommates! Look what I bought!” Remus shouts, slamming the door with his foot and bringing his bags to the couch.
“Are those... cups?” D asks turning off the stovetop to curiously check out Remus’s merch load.
“Hell yeah they are! I figured since you-” He pokes at D, “Took away all our glass cups after me and Roman went to that last party, I would take it upon myself to replace them. Look!” Remus proudly pulls the ugliest Jar Jar Binks cup out of one of the bags.
Roman visibly recoils as his brother parades the worst cup he’s ever seen around their apartment. D rolls his eyes but collects the cup and hesitantly places it into the dishwasher. “Thank you, Remus, these cups are horrid but they’re functional, which, I guess is good enough. Though, how much did these cost?”
“No idea, probably around sixty bucks total though, maybe. I went to three different thrift stores. Look at this one!” Remus holds up a vaguely terrifying cup that seems like it may have once resembled Spongebob Squarepants to Roman.
“That’s… Great, Remus, thanks” Roman says taking the offered item.
The three make it to practice 20 minutes early because Roman likes to prove he’s dedicated and a good captain. Coach Thomas and Joan greet them and Thomas talks to Roman briefly as Joan finishes setting things up. D and Remus do some stretches as others begin to show up, D comments on Remus being shaky and Remus hops around quickly explaining that he just woke up with a lot of energy for some reason.
Coach Thomas reminds Remus to take his time during practices speeding through everything doesn’t work if he keeps messing up before he even makes it halfway through.
D is going to kill Remus tomorrow morning. The repetitive sound of the bedframe slamming against their shared wall, and Remus wailing like a cat in heat at 1am is not something he wants to deal with right now. It’s a Tuesday night and D knows Remus has a class at 11am, one that D will not let him skip because he decided getting laid was more important. How does Remus even get a man to willingly enter that nightmare of a room? D rummages through his bedside table for ear plugs and regrets giving Roman the far room so easily.
“Jesus- Hello? Do you know what time it is?” The tired voice answers the phone after the third time of going to voicemail.
“Of course I don’t, Jared, I’m not a fucking nerd! I just thought I might extend my offer of filling the fountain in the middle of campus with bubble bath and a swim to you and Payton! D already said if I woke him up he would cut my dick off and feed it to his snake,” Remus audibly pouted at the end of his sentence.
Despite it being three am, it didn’t take a lot for Jared to wake up Payton and agree to meet him just off campus to run to the 24/7 convenience store for soap for the fountain. Remus leads the group in talking a mile a minute about something that Jared and Payton actually missed out on entirely. They try to contribute but realize Remus doesn’t notice when they have their own conversation anyways. They listen to him vaguely flit through topic after topic and get lost and confused in his own sentences, and once the soap is collected, they head to the large fountain in the middle of campus.
The fifth bottle of soap has been discarded and the fountain is sufficiently bubbly by the time the three hockey players strip to their boxers and begin their bath. There are attempted drownings, bubble beards, and the fountain change being thrown around.
At some point Remus stops talking for a second, observing the lithium bulbs through the fountain streams and bubbles floating across the courtyard. For a moment, he thinks he’s never been this happy in his life, these last few days have been the best days of his life. He lets Jared and Payton know this and like stare at him for a moment before teasing him about going soft and a few “I love you, bro” “Dude, you mean so much to me” and such were exchanged. They leave moments before campus security’s due to do their rounds in the early morning and laugh when about an hour later they receive a campus-wide notification to avoid the courtyard for repairs.
Remus spends most of practice being more annoying than usual. He gets a bit more of a stern talking to than he has in a while, in response says that he’ll try to do better to prepare for the game this weekend.
He did not succeed and got an even sterner talking to by Coach Thomas and Joan, and then by Roman separately.
Remus has a brief moment of clarity regarding his spending habits from the last week and a half in the middle of his current project. His solution is instead of buying the club size container of hot sauce, he makes a trip to the Taco Bell off campus. After dropping off the rest of his goods at the apartment, it was pretty late in the evening and he was dressed in nothing but neon green basketball shorts, slides, and a pretty badly stained grey tank top. Thankfully, Florida weather permitted this, though the looks he had been receiving all day disagreed. It likely did not help that if prompted, Remus wasn’t 100% on the last time that he slept, but if he had to guess it was two or three days ago, but that was probably a maximum of five hours. Surprisingly, he had never felt so good in his life. He’s also pretty sure he’s said that a lot this week.
He leaves Taco Bell with a small meal bag full of hot sauce at no cost.
D doesn’t ask any questions when he uses the bathroom in the early morning and is met with the sight of Remus in the bathtub. He is covered in a large variety of substances. The floor is covered in Taco Bell hot sauce wrappers, there’s a box full of water balloons of various colours and sizes. Remus waves with his available hand before he resumes filling the current water balloon with what may be a bulk container of banana lube. D pisses, not bothering to ask Remus to leave and just pulls the shower curtain over a little before washing his hands and deciding to figure it out tomorrow.
The next day, D woke up around 10am to a few texts saying some prick is throwing weird water balloons at first years off this academic building on campus. D didn’t think much about it until he was leaving his 12:30 lecture walking past splatters of mayo, egg, egg shells, hot sauce, and more, all separately. While observing the damage he found Remus asleep on some grass outside said academic building and had to call Logan for help to get him home. The two are used to this by now and D reminds himself to tell Remus to clear his ‘great ideas’ with someone containing a braincell.
Remus spends a good majority of his day listening to one song in the living room of the shared apartment. He was there when D left for classes, he was there when Roman left a little later in the day, failing to go to his own classes at all that day. The second D returns for lunch Remus is trying to explain a hidden meaning in the song, D brushes it off and reminds Remus, that to pass his classes he has to at least go.
This is Remus’s third night out in an area of town he really doesn’t know. He went home yesterday for early practice before coming back out. He knows it didn’t go well.
In attempts to make himself feel better, he blew a guy who’s name he already forgot but was hot as hell, he lost count of the shots he’s done, but at least there’s no practice tomorrow. He doesn’t have to worry about when he goes home, doesn’t have to worry about Roman or D and their weird concerned looks. He’s doing great! Why are they concerned, they just don’t get it.
At 2 am everyone gets kicked out of the club. Remus walks six blocks with his new friends with the promise of couch space to crash on and additional alcohol.
It’s suddenly 4:47 am and Remus is the only one awake and all the booze is gone. He is sitting under lithium streetlights smoking a cigarette on the porch of a strangers house with the humid Florida wind enables him to sit comfortably without a jacket. There is a moment, with sirens in the distance that Remus lets his eyes go out of focus. For the first time in who knows how long, he feels present. There is cracked cement under his feet, a dog barking a few houses down, and he wonders why he’s even here. The hidden Prince twin, here, in a city he has only been to once for a tournament, in a stranger’s house, drunk off his ass, his phone dead. He takes time to wonder, is this fun to him? It has to be right? Why did he just leave without telling anyone? Spending nights on the streets, or finding someone to go home with just so he didn’t have to find somewhere else to sleep. Is this who he is now?
He doesn’t know if he can answer that. Remus shakes himself before putting out his cigarette on his arm and deciding it doesn’t matter.
He still doesn’t sleep that night, but plugs in his phone and decides he needs to go home soon.
This is a different club than the previous night, someone sold Remus a few pills earlier and he figured why not? He feels better than ever. He lets the man he’s making out with know that and he lets out a kind of raspy laugh that Remus thinks is the hottest thing. He lets the other man know that too before sticking his tongue down his throat.
Remus is in the park yelling. It is almost 6pm, he pauses for a moment, completely forgetting what he was yelling about. He realizes that he is pretty drunk. Remus would normally like to say he only drinks with an excuse, but he doesn’t remember why he’s drunk, or how he got to the park. This isn’t near campus, he doesn’t recognize this park at all. He just stops yelling and googles the next bus to take him home.
Upon arriving home and greeting D, Remus falls asleep in his room for almost 12 hours to make up for the missing sleep from the last four days. When he is woken up for food and offered tylenol for his hangover, he tries to tell them he doesn’t have one. They don’t believe him, but he takes the food. Remus makes a joke recalling how the other day all he had eaten was some stale croutons he found in a pantry and half a bottle of Fireball he found in the fridge nearby. The joke did not land, but he was too busy laughing about it to notice.
The three eat their Sunday lunch with small amounts of banter and D switching between who he agrees with based on who’s statement didn’t sound like it came from a six year old. As they clean up, Remus starts excitedly talking about something that’s topic changed around four times in one sentence. Roman feigns interest but got lost and doesn’t care enough; D listens and has to ask Remus to repeat things slower every few minutes.
Several times throughout the night, D hears Remus loudly leave his room to check the front door. In the early morning D doesn’t hear Remus return to his room, but faintly hears netflix turn on in the living room.
In the morning, Remus seems wary of the door but does not say anything.
One day while messing around in the kitchen Remus is struck with the need to just go. The urge is so strong that the more he stands still in the kitchen the more his body just begins to tremble with barely contained energy. He doesn’t quite know where he’s going yet, but as he grabs his wallet, double checking he has his bus pass and ID, a jacket, his phone, and his keys. Without telling anyone, he walks to the main exchange near campus where he hops on the first bus that arrives. The bus isn’t particularly busy, and it makes it easier for him as he settles into the back of the bus bopping to his music, but not having the focus to listen to a song all the way through. He hits his hands softly on the very 90’s looking patterned seats to the beat of the song, watching out the windows with both legs bouncing. He rides this bus to the end of the line and catches the next bus to arrive at that bus exchange that takes him into a new smaller city. The sun is beginning to set and he finds a pub to grab some food and a few drinks at.
An hour and a half and four drinks later Remus is fighting some asshole in the pub and they both get kicked out. He wanders these smaller streets buzzed and poking at forming bruises while he smokes a cigarette. He walks by a convenience store and two homeless men outside ask him for a cigarette, he shares and spends a solid amount of time socializing with them and gets some booze for his troubles. They eventually part ways when one of them come out from the bathroom with a pack of stolen cookies. The store attendant chases them away and Remus finds himself wandering down empty streets again. Eventually, Remus decides to sleep for a few hours curled up in a stairwell, he doesn’t quite sleep, but does relax. Again, in the sounds of small city life, yellowed flickering light bulbs, and humid wind, Remus wonders why he’s out here.
The flashing neon lights and bass heavy music resonate through Remus’s bones like electricity giving him a never ending feedback loop of energy. Just before the club closes Remus sweet-talks a kind of nerdy looking guy into taking him home, while he’s mostly just hoping to not sleep outside tonight, getting laid wont hurt either.
Sneaking out of someone’s house before they wake up isn’t something Remus is necessarily proud of, but he doesn’t want to risk them doing something cheesy like make him breakfast. Sorry sir, Remus is a Manic Pixie Nightmare Boy, do not catch feelings, do not use for your own character development. He laughs to himself a little walking down the morning rush streets.
After waking up in bed with a man he doesn’t remember meeting the night before is a little jarring, but this is not the first time. It makes him wonder briefly if something is wrong with him. Remus is tired. Exhausted with himself and getting a little tired of this much fun. Instead of finding a diner for breakfast he catches a bus home and asks Logan if they can hang out tomorrow. If anyone will force him to go home, go to practice, sleep and not give him a choice to study or not without expecting him to explain himself. It will be everyone’s favourite Large Nerd. Remus doesn’t know what’s happening or why he feels like this, but he needs to go home and stop this for a little bit.Virgil, D, and Logan will help him get things a little back on track.

Dustin Knight transcript
00:00
But so essentially our I'll just say like a little bit about what our project is about I guess first see kind of understand what we're what we're doing and then I guess we want to keep it very informal so kind of just like, you know, let you kind of go from as many tangents and stuff as you want and just to be really kind of getting understanding of kind of like what it is that makes you passionate about this certain area that's right, all right perfect see so um, essentially our project is a is entitled for the love of.
00:35
Something and we've been assigned meteorology so the the kind of it's a research project basically where we have to try and work out what is that kind of causes people to be incredibly passionate about the subject of meteorology, so we're just basically trying to get an understanding of you know, how it impacts people today lives certain kind of like personal anecdotes and stories that would impact like.
01:06
What causes people to be passionate about this area and like basically build empathy with the people that are passionate about meteorology such as yourself, so we're just gonna try and keep it very open-ended and like learn more about you personally and your story personally about meteorologist, so if you go from a tangent, they worry about it, that's kind of.
01:30
What I'm talking thank you see so I mean, if you already would just like start with kind of like what was it that initially got you interested in into metrology, so what was like the first thing that you remember that kind of like got you into it and then we just go from there, I guess.
01:48
Okay, well I like a lot of people it seems like a lot of people in the weather industry. Started when they were young it seems to be a common theme and for me my I didn't have like cable TV growing up for anything like that, but my dad had a whole bunch like VHS documentary like these old documentary types that I would watch on VCR all the time sweet and a few of them a few of them in particular he had one was about a tornado outbreak in Texas and another was about a storm chasing like field project they did and like the early 90s and I was born in 90 so that was kind of, You know right around like I was still a young kid but that was kind of right around that time and I would watch those and I just fell in love with it like it just I was eight years old seven or eight years old at the time and I just fell in love with that like something about just all that that's kind of what started it was when I was seven or eight with these tornado documentaries and then when I was ten we had a large tornado come through my town where I lived at and I remember being really scared but then when I went outside after it was over.
02:56
It was it I just felt something in the atmosphere almost it was like it was weird how pretty it was after this large tornado came through there was like this weird contrast that I'd never experienced before and that kind of really. Like, you know kind of cemented it in it's something I'm passionate about and I just became really interested in it at that point so from like 10 years old.
03:17
I just kind of went on this journey where I wanted to learn as much about it as I could because it was just so fascinating how it could be like so powerful but so pretty at the same time that was kind of just like this weird thing that I hadn't experienced and so that's kind of where it started it's like as a young kid, you know eight to ten years old.
03:35
I had kind of two big events in my life that happened fairly close together that just kind of set the whole thing in motion yeah that's great so so what were the steps that you took off to that way you are so you you kind of found this passion through the documentaries and these.
03:52
Large-like storm events and how it made you feel so that maybe actually could you talk a little bit more about perhaps how these larger events kind of made you feel if you can remember it like. Yeah, okay so the I remember during the the tornado in particular it was in May of the year 2000 and I was in like fourth grade sure and I remember I remember initially being really scared but in my mind like I didn't completely comprehend like why I was so scared but I knew that like there was a lack of information that was making me scared like I knew something was happening, but I didn't know exactly what and I remember having this.
04:30
Like this desire that like if I knew what was going on I wouldn't be so scared about it like you know like we went and we went in the hallway and took shelter and like part of me was like if I could go see what was happening? I wouldn't feel sad like vulnerable and so that kind of you know, I remember going home and in the internet was still fairly new at the time but you could find you know, you could look stuff up so I remember like looking up stuff about tornadoes on the internet, you know in the early 2000s and trying to like, you know, how do they work what you know, what are some common things about them that type of thing?
05:02
I've always been really interested in like the scientific stuff anyway, so. There's that wasn't anything new it was just kind of new new documentary our new focus sorry. I got a dog bark that memory about it let's go yeah that was part of a new a new area for me as far as the weather so yeah just started trying to dissect it more so I could learn kind of like, What it was that was making me so scared, you know, if that makes sense yeah and it was the more I learned the less the more I learned the less scared I was becoming and that's kind of that just became my method was like every time there was something about it like later on I became a little more scared of lightning so I started learning more about lightning okay tornadoes to lightning to just weather in general.
05:50
So yeah it's like um kind of the passion to meet you almost grew as kind of like the desire of understanding so that you could like feel less schooling comparison to like these events at almost like yeah exactly. I had this fear. I felt like the more I understood about it the less I could be right of it yeah, that's great.
06:11
Something that you learned like a lot through school and all was that not something that you specialized in until like university. Um, I certainly learned some of that through school just on my own like self-learning, you know, when I was younger, um, and then as I got older and and you know now I am in university it's.
06:32
It's blossomed more where I'm able to get like a technical understanding of the things we're early on I was just kind of learning basic stuff about how tornadoes work and that type of thing and as I've gotten older into university now I have this like technical understanding that you know, it's miles beyond what I was learning when I was eight or ten yeah, but I, Yeah even still to this day the more I learned the the more it like the less I feel like powerless to it, yeah I learned these and then I feel like I have a certain knowledge that kind of helps me out along the way so I still have a fear of it even to this day.
07:09
I chase tornadoes and stuff and they're still like a fear of it yeah, but it's it's not you know, I feel like I have a power that I didn't use to have yeah so with your currently chasing tornadoes and stuff is that would you say that's one of like the main areas of mitrology that you find like exciting stimulating.
07:27
Oh yeah yeah large weather events there's just something about them that just draws me to them I'll chase I'll chase tornadoes and hurricanes both, and and even just large severe storms up, you know, I'll chase those as well against there's no tornadoes and there's yeah, I'm definitely passionate about that part like the forecasting the whole process the forecasting of them trying to you know figure out where to go because I'll chase all over the country yeah, so, you know trying to forecast them and anticipate where they're going to be how they're going to evolve and trying to be in the right, you know be in the right place at the right time.
08:01
It's just the whole process is something that I really love. I was just gonna roast my how long are you usually like when you go out storm chasing how long you usually out for is it like a few hours or is it like days? It's usually a few days if you don't oh yeah, that's yeah, usually I'll leave and.
08:20
So like it'll start a couple days before I even leave just with the forecasting and stuff but then when I'm on the road I'll leave and it'll be you know, maybe a good 12 or 13 hour drive to get to wherever I'm gonna go then we'll stay the night to get some rest and then the storms will actually be the next day so it'll be you know, 12 13 hours of chasing them and then another day and then another 13 hour drive home that's usually pretty normal but I've spent a week I've spent as much as a week before for like a hurricane really, you know, that's that storm itself elastic couple days.
08:52
So yeah, usually it's anywhere from like two days to a week, okay, yeah, have you ever like reached a point where that where you thought? Too dangerous. I'm not sure if I want to do this anymore. I always been something that you. Having to I've never reached a point where I've thought like, I'm not gonna do this before but I've certainly reached a point where I've thought like, Item made a mistake I might be in a little too deep Yeah that there was a there was a storm in Alabama in 2018 and Alabama isn't like the southern United States for you know, anybody that won't know but there was a storm there and it was it was a large like a higher risk day, we knew it was going to be probably a high end event and there was a tornado there where we we were watching the storm and we were watching what we thought was the tornado was like a smaller funnel coming down and it turns out that the large the tornado was much larger than we thought and what we were watching.
09:48
For was just what we call like a satellite tornado was like a smaller tornado orbiting the large one and we realized that we were in a pretty bad spot and then we ended up kind of getting overran by it as we were fleeing and we had to we had to park and go and take shelter and that one.
10:02
I remember there was like debris hitting the car as we were trying to flee and that was that was one moment where I didn't really think about quitting but I thought like, you know, I might be in a little too deep here. I probably shouldn't have done this. That's really the only time I mean hurricanes are kind of scary sometimes but I kind of expect that with them yeah that was the one time where I was like, oh I might have made a mistake here yeah do you kind of um still almost get like a kick from that kind of adrenaline rush there's is it kind of an adrenaline thing almost storm chasing like like it is I don't consider myself someone who chases for the adrenaline rice like some people they chase dorms and they go skydiving and they do all these things just for the rush.
10:44
I do try to consider myself more of a scientific person, but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a rush like there is. The right and I do enjoy it yeah yeah. I have like family members like her all like friends and things how do they feel about her?
11:01
Um most of them are pretty supportive a couple I have a couple friends who don't get it yeah you know they don't they don't understand it they they kind of just think it's for a rush or whatever but uh, most of them are pretty supportive honestly, they're all early on they thought maybe it was just gonna be like a fad like you're something I was gonna do for a minute and I was gonna get over it so I don't know if they expected me to like take it into a career but but they were supportive of it yeah they thought if you want to do it do it, but I don't think they expected it to be what it is today, yeah, when did you start?
11:35
Chasing them was that like not until later. I started. So they were kind of like two points where I started it was like the first time I went storm chasing and there was like the first time I started like right decided I was going to be a storm chaser and really start pursuing it so like the first storm I ever chased was in 2012, we had a little large tornado outbreak here in Kentucky where I lived and and I went out and kind of like watched the storms that day but at that point I still hadn't decided like I was going to be a storm chaser.
12:05
I was just kind of going out to see the storms and then in 2016 so about four almost five years ago was early 2016, that's when I first went out and was like, I'm going to be. Stormed. Is I really started like putting forth like Tom and Energy into it.
12:20
So we're going on about five years of where I consider myself like chasing full-time, you know all year long any large event. So yeah about early 2016's when it really started I was just gonna say so like in terms of like the whole process of identifying when and where storm might happen and then getting back is there any way that you could just like run us through that process, like what other methods that you would use to predict where a storms happening and Then how would you prepare for your trip and whatnot?
12:54
Okay so yeah so like I said I'll try to get like two technical or anything but so early on you know maybe between three and five days before the event that's when like it'll first start and I'll just start looking you know on the computer looking at a like whether observation so you'll kind of look at like the current observations first and just see like what is the atmosphere look like is there anything like upstream is there anything coming this way that might support like a large severe event you can't really forecast like specific tornadoes that early but you're kind of looking at like the large pattern three to five days out and think.
13:29
Ing like is this going to evolve in a way where we could expect storms and then I'll start looking at the computer models so you know the forecast models which just kind of give you like a simulation of what they think's gonna happen so I'll start looking at the computer models and trying to like make notes of you know are these models showing anything interesting do they show what I expect to happen are they showing something that I'm not expecting that might be more or less interesting.
13:53
I'm just taking notes of all these like kind of trends in the models. And then I'll basically do that for like two days two or three days and then once we get into the like the 48 hours before it's time to go timeframe that's when like you're really start looking at the details and it's pretty similar.
14:11
I'll still be looking at observations the computer models but it's on a much like a smaller scale so at first, you know three to five days it's like a large scale just look at the pattern see if we can expect storms and then in the 48 hour time frame now.
14:24
I'm looking to see like where do I think thunderstorms like format are we going to have like the ingredients like moisture and instability and stuff? Where do I think those ingredients will come together? Do I think they'll be there very long or is it just gonna be like a quick burst of something you know how long are they gonna be overlapping each other and then I'll try to see like where those ingredients might evolve to over time and that kind of lets me pick like a large target area and then once I get the large target area then I start trying to really find tune it and say like where do I think tornadoes will be most favorable right so I'll start looking like a long like cold front some warm fronts a lot of times you can get stuff along those boundaries, so I really start looking for like the fine details.
15:10
And then. That's kind of the play for 24 hours then what's you're in like the 24-hour frame, that's where like you're satellite radar stuff starts coming in and then I'm looking if. That point I'm mainly looking to see is there anything that's going to change my mind from what I've seen the last four days right are there storms that I didn't expect that might kind of stabilize things is there something happening that I wasn't expecting or is everything on track and as long as everything's on track it's it's usually go time.
15:38
I usually leave within like 24 to 48 hours that's when I think the storms are gonna happen see okay nice. So like um in terms of like predicting it and whatnot would you say that like obviously you have the adrenaline rush over is it more of like an intellectual rush when you get it right like is that kind of one of the things that you're chasing is like that you've that you've managed to predict it correctly validation, yeah.
16:02
I'm I'm obsessed with the forecasting of it anyway that's kind of like where my passion lies the hope it's like a puzzle, you know, it's like an investigation like a puzzle of some sort yeah and and that's something I've always been fascinated with. Probably as much as it is to see a tornado like I've seen you know a few dozen tornadoes at this point and they're they're always like amazing and and powerful but yeah, they're certainly something about it when you can kind of you're looking at the data for days and you're kind of doing this investigation of sorts and then it plays out like you expect it, you know that that is certainly there's like a satisfactory feeling to that yeah and that's and it's even multiplied on days, you know will jokes sometimes anybody can see a tornado on like a high risk day, you know, if you just go to where the storm is supposed to be in you're probably see a tornado.
16:50
But it's kind of those lower in days like you really kind of make your name as like a successful chaser if you will because those are the days we're like most storms aren't going to produce a tornado you might have a hundred storms and two or three of them might produce tornadoes so when you can when you can see something on one of those days, those are always, you know on a selfish way, those are always more satisfying yeah because you know, you were able to see something that nobody else saw, you know, like the weather service is going to see it but not the other storm chasers, you know, you're going to able to get on a storm that literally nobody else on the planet was able to be on so there's Certainly like a satisfactory kind of rush from that like a big community that of people who.
17:32
Like as everyone quite involved as each other or is it very kind of solitary? Um it's relative to like our population at large it's small right so like we might have some groups online where there might be like a thousand storm chasers which feels large, you know when you're online and that type of thing and you got a thousand people that are into what you're into that seems fairly large but a relative to like the overall population it is a small group yeah it's there's certainly some of us that are more known than others and that type of thing but in some ways like everybody is kind of familiar with everybody else that's active in this community, so if you have a like gun storm chasing with an One else from the community or detention yeah, I prefer to chase I've got a one buddy.
18:19
I got one buddy that I prefer to chase with a lot may have changed solo before I can do that but I just with all the things going on, it's kind of better to have a partner with you so. I've got one friend of mine who lives he lives one state north of me but I've got one friend of mine that will usually link up and chase together just it just makes it better for a it's kind of the logistics of it one person can drive we can switch out and drive, you know, if we've got a 20 hour drive it makes it easier because we don't have to stop he can drive and if he gets tired I can drive but like the logistics of the actual storm as well, it makes those easier because like I'm the actual meteorology, you know, that's my specialty and he's knowledgeable, but that's not his like field of expertise.
19:05
So he can drive and then I can kind of focus on forecasting and and I can constantly stare at the radar and that type of thing supposed to be doing about yourself you kind of you have to drive so you can try to pay attention to the radar you can try to look at the sky but there's always a part of you has to be focused on the road just to be safe, so yeah, I prefer to chase with at least one person sure okay, so see.
19:29
Those. Yeah like generally speaking how much you time you spend are in the field as opposed to behind a desk because I'm obviously like it's got a lot to do with the outdoors but we couldn't kind of work out how much of that is yeah sat around looking at data and how much it is actually going out and experiencing it because we want to be able to approach it that's my question there's an excellent question that's a part of a lot of people might not think about that much.
20:01
I absolutely spend probably 60 to 70 percent of the time looking at data sitting on a computer a lot of people, you know, they think like oh you just watch the news you see where storms are going to be and then you go there yeah but like the the TV forecasters and stuff their job isn't to get you to tornadoes their job is to take the public at large which is fine that's totally cool that's what they should do but they're not but you can't watch a TV weather report and think like, oh I know where the tornadoes are going to be now yeah you're going to watch a TV weather report and just kind of.
20:36
Know what it's going to do at large because they're just trying to protect the whole public so you you know to be truly successful at it you have to spend a large amount of time doing the forecasting yourself and I certainly spend probably seventy percent of the time like I gave you like a five-day time frame earlier where I start looking, you know, like four to five days out.
20:55
For like the first four days of that that's exclusively on a computer and then like I'll print out maps and analyze them, you know, manually with pencil and stuff but that's exclusively looking at data and then the only time you're out in the field is if you're traveling to the target area, or if you're actively chasing the storm that's it and even then you're still looking at data a lot of the time so yeah, it's it's a significant portion of the time just looking at a computer screen.
21:22
Okay. I'm looking at a computer screen right now looking at day, just as the if there's anything coming up.
21:31
Say what is it like would you say that meteorology now kind of dominates your life to some extent then obviously it's your career path to like moving away from perhaps the storm chasing what would like and your average day look like just just within this field like, Okay, so yeah.
21:49
Yeah obviously storm chasing is just the thing that I do and I love to do but like my actual work it's fairly similar in terms of what I'm looking at like in terms of the data that I'm looking at and that type of thing with the big difference being I'm not going out chasing the storm obviously yeah but I'm right now one of my primary jobs is as an incident meteorologist with a local university so that's just a fancy term that means like for any event that like they have in the county or the university might do so, you know, like college football games basketball games any type of sporting event or Concept that they might do my job is basically to give them forecast before the event and then during the event give them what we would call like hyper local information but it's that's just another fancy word for meaning like I'm gonna give them very specific weather information for their event so that they can make decisions that they need to make so that's that's like my primary thing that I do right now does that involves you doing some kind of risk assessment or does that just consist of you passing information over and then they make a decision that's another excellent question yeah, that's, Risk assessment is a huge part of the job that's honestly probably one of the primary responsibilities because I could give them general weather information and they would be able to make it work.
23:09
I could type up the forecast and say, you know, here's the weather but they they can get that from an app they want very specific information on how does you know how does this threaten us or does it threaten us, you know, what hazards might might we be facing that type of thing, so yeah, I'm constantly looking like what what are we expecting the weather to do and then I'll be looking at like, you know, if we've got a if we've got a basketball game where you know, 15, ,000 people are going to be there.
23:35
I'm kind of assessing the entire window of the event so you know, like people arriving then the game and then people leaving and the whole time I'm just assessing like are there any risks during that event that they need to be aware of and then and of course I'll write up a report and give it to them yeah, that's a huge part of the job risk assessment is like the major thing do you have to sort of work alongside?
24:00
You know like fire departments and that sort of thing does that come in yeah do that particularly like when I'm when I'm just doing the forecasting not so much I can do that from home, you know look data type of forecast, but during the events absolutely we have what we call the the emergency operations center or the EOC which is it's usually in like a not a bunker but it's usually like a secure room where we'll have it's basically a command center so what we have I mean, they've got people in there watching the security cameras just doing security stuff for the game, so they'll have like the love.
24:35
Able police departments watching security cameras, they'll have transportation people who are watching cameras outside to see like if I exits are starting to fill up and they need to put a bus there to move people along they've got a. What we call athletics the athletic departments in there kind of doing communications on a radio if they need to get like the players moved around and then we'll have a spot where I have like my computers and stuff set up and I'm focused solely on the weather and and though all you know, police department might need to know, you know, hey, we've got some rain coming through and we need to get over to this area should we go now is it gonna be raining the whole time or if we wait a couple minutes we'll stop so yeah, there's pretty much any organization that's doing like what we call decision support.
25:20
Any organization's gonna be like in this bunker this you know closed off secure room we're gonna be in there kind of working alongside each other and kind of putting all of our information together to send that up to you know, the people they're like in charge of the event what kind of give them one large briefing with like a little bit from every department.
25:44
Oh yeah we've had some questions about sort of the kinds of people like if there's a certain kind of person who's attracted to that kind of thing or sort of a running I guess personality theme within the community yeah not to try and like draw stereotypes, obviously we don't know really generalize but like just in general like because we're just trying to get an app like a yeah, we try it yeah sense of the kind of people that.
26:15
And find themselves in this kind of area or is it is it a broad range of people?
26:24
It's going to be a broad range people as with any field. Without its stereotypes for sure there are certainly there are certainly stereotypes that you can pick out any kind of it kind of forks off so like in this this I almost look at like the storm. I'm chasing the community is one community and then like the meteorologist community is another and there's like, oh there's a large overlap, of course, you've got a lot of people like myself who work as a meteorologist but also chase storms, but then you kind of have these extremes and that's where you'll find the stereotypes, so.
26:56
In the storm chasing community, you're going to have a lot of you're going to have some people that are in it for the science, you know, they're people like me who are just nerds when they were growing up and they just want to figure things out then you're going to have people like I was talking about earlier who in it for the rush, they they just want to do exciting crazy stuff because it's fun you're going to have some people who, Just kind of want to do it for like media purposes right so they're going to get out and they can they can make money selling footage which admittedly I've done before but that's not what I consider like my thing like if you get video of tornado and you can get somebody bite from you like sell it right but there's some people that they make that like their goal they go out just to get like the craziest shots so they can sell it and and then you're gonna have some people who would kind of consider themselves like the first responders of the group.
27:48
Which we all kind of have parts of all of these to some extent like I said, I sold footage. I work, you know doing first response type of stuff but. I certainly like my main focus on about is the science of it So we all kind of parts of it but you can absolutely separate it into certain groups with like the people wanting to rush the people that are in it for the science the people that just want to get footage and then the people that are like saving lives and that type of thing.
28:12
Sure. And and in an unlike the meteorology side with people in like the field as a whole. It's somewhat similar. So you're gonna but it's you're not necessarily gonna have the people looking for the rush because it's a lot of like hard data that type of thing but you're gonna have.
28:29
Some people who are interested in like hard data and just like, you know, like machine learning and stuff and they want to figure out how machine learning can help with, you know, whether forecasting you're gonna have some people who are just interested in severe weather, so they want to just study tornadoes.
28:45
You're gonna have some people who were just generally science people and just like science at large and then the atmosphere just happened to be a cool thing. And then I would also say you're gonna have. You're gonna have some people who were. Well I'm trying to figure out how to so you're gonna have some people who are like science people in general but then you're also gonna have some people who like me kind of like had some significant weather event early on that's a real common story you'll hear like, you know, I had a tornado hit my town when I was 12 and ever since then I wanted to learn it.
29:18
And like the last pitcher group I would say would be like the people who just want to be like broadcasters right because they don't broadcasters don't get the credit they deserve their legitimate scientists, they have to get the same degree that the rest of us have to get but they kind of just get looked at us like TV weather people.
29:34
Yeah, like there's a certain. There's a certain attitude that takes you to that direction. You know, like this is a lot of work to get this degree, you know, they're not doing it just to be on TV there's a lot easier there's a easier routes to get on TV, but they have like a certain attitude where like they want.
29:51
They want to learn this stuff but then they want to share the information right they want to try to broadcast it to the public Like that's not the right I want to go I want to learn the science of it and I still want to help the public but I've got no interest of like being on a local network doing that type of thing.
30:07
But yeah, those are kind of like the main groups Recap I'd say meteorology field it's mainly just like the hard science starts the like outside of that with all respect. I consider myself in that group. We have close here, but like you get like the hard science people you've got like the broadcast people and then you've maybe got like the newer like more.
30:26
Modern like technology people who want to see how like machine learning and big data can kick in mm-hmm and I would say that's kind of like the main proofs can meteorology. And like I said, there's a large overlap with the storm chasing community, but I mean, there's certainly some similarities differences.
30:40
Yeah, well that's that's one of the things that I'm actually came up quite a lot with people who'd responded to our survey saying that they felt like the community was kind of misunderstood or misrepresented. Sorry. Dad's quality and yeah, they felt like. People especially.
31:10
Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry about that, no worries. All right should I just continue? Sadie okay sure so I guess I think what she was saying was a essentially when we got everybody to fill out our survey the cook those several common themes one of which was what you mentioned earlier in terms of a lots of people said the thing that got them into them was a large whether event and then the other one was a lot of people seem to feel that the community overall was quite missed like understood and they thought there were several misconceptions about the community.
31:57
So I guess I just wondered like what do you think are the common misconceptions and or how do people misunderstand the community as a whole and like does this affect you in any way or at night stuff like that? I guess. It's another excellent question you guys came prepared.
32:16
I appreciate that that's really awesome but yeah with with the storm chasing community in particular that's kind of the more misunderstood part again was like as I say like I kind of look at them separately like storm chasing and maybe urology, they're they're kind of gonna be separate and some degree and and certainly the storm chasing community has been misunderstood specifically yeah, I think.
32:41
First I think a big reason for that is just the images you see on TV yeah so and and this isn't like a knock against media I work closely with a lot of media people they're not doing anything wrong yeah but there is going to have to be a certain narrative that they're going to put out, you know, it's not even intentional but they look for the most exciting footage so if you're getting the most exciting footage is a good chance, you're getting the most excited chasers yeah so you see these videos like these storm chases that are like screaming and yelling and they're doing all these crazy things, you know, there's debris hit the car and they're yelling and cousin and screaming and all this kind of stuff.
33:16
That's gonna that's gonna give off a certain type of image yeah so I think that's that's a big part of it and then also like maybe like certain movies in the past like twister for example kind of portrays storm chasers in a certain way where we're just like crazy wild just you know that this type of thing we're just loud and wild and we just want to see destruction and then just kind of roll with it because we love it and that's not really true, you know, like my disposition when I'm chasing is typically pretty quiet.
33:46
I got too much stuff going on like there's a lot of stuff going on, so I'm not like, I'm not trying to yell and scream and stuff. I've got to focus on this or that you're going to find those like louder chasers for sure but they kind of get blown up a little bit they definitely get blown out of proportion most episodes are just out there just doing it like, you know, we're typically pretty quiet we don't want to see anything bad happen, you know, I don't, One of my pet peeves is like the people who like celebrate when a tornado happens, you know like and maybe maybe I want a high horse a battery like on some kind of like moral like grandstanding and I don't mean to be but you know, these things are terrible sometimes yeah, yeah, I don't want to see people stuff get destroyed and I think a lot of times they kind of push not push that acts like they're doing enough purpose, but they kind of promote dislike idea that like we want these things to happen we want things to get destroyed because it's like it's crazy and whatnot.
34:39
And I'm sure you could find some people that are like that you're gonna find videos of people who are you know, celebrating when a tornadoes happening but most of the people I know aren't like that we don't want that to happen, you know, we see a house could destroy and it's unfortunate we don't want that to happen most of us are gonna go try to help backwards and that type of thing so I think that's the biggest misconception misconception as far as how it personally affects me.
35:06
It doesn't really I just do my best to not be that yeah the the worst I'll ever have to deal with is like I've got a YouTube channel and every now and then I'll get videos that get you know a few hundred thousand views or something which for me is perfect, you know, it's fun and obviously the more traffic you get the more like interaction you're gonna get so every now and then I'll get somebody that was like, you know, why why is this idiot surprise that he got hit by tornado like he was chasing it it's like I'm not the prize, you know, I was you know, but they think that like you can tell they're just feeding off of that misconception of like, oh here's another adrenaline.
35:41
Ducky that did something stupid but yeah when in reality like no like I'm. I don't want these things to happen they're just going to happen and I'm going to be there when they do yeah but yeah, it doesn't really affect me how I don't lose to sleep over I just do my best to try to kind of put forward this like professional type of thing and you know just caring and consider it, you know ideal of a person that's all I try to do yeah, okay great perfect, thank you.
36:10
Would it be possible if you could send me a link to your YouTube channel yeah that sounds great yeah yeah after we do this I can I throw in the messenger if you want that yeah amazing thank you right yeah yeah, no problem thank you yeah one of our questions was do you ever get bored of it or question because especially because it's you've been interested in it since we're really really young have you ever sort of?
36:36
Gone off on a tangent of wanting to do something else or is there anything that you get particularly that's kind of sick of doing the most significant moment in recent years not at all in recent years as I was like studied the thing and began working like for real in the field and and not you know, not just chasing on my own and that type of thing is it's become more of a real profession.
36:55
I haven't because it's just so much I can do yeah I can go chase storms and then you know, if I don't want to go on the road cool, I can stay home and do some kind of research project or you know, there's always a different way to occupy my mind that's not the exact same thing, but I'm still in.
37:11
In the field, you know, yeah, um, there was a significant portion of my life where I was a teenager, there was a few years where? I guess I just wanted to like be cool and like being like nerdy wasn't cool. I guess you know the type of thing that rebellious type of thing, you know, so there were a few years when I was you know, probably 13 to 16 where it was like this private joy.
37:32
I had mmm where like I would go hang out with my buddies and we would you know, we'd party and all this kind of stuff and skateboard or whatever play music and. And like in I would still be obsessed with it like I'm in my mind but it wasn't something I was like outwardly pursuing, you know, like I would I would watch tornado documentaries when I was alone at night like that type of thing yeah guilty pleasure type thing yeah yeah, so it wasn't like I was bored of it, but I definitely wasn't as active as I am now.
38:01
I do sometimes like it like if I don't have a forecast it's due like, I will catch myself sometimes. If I don't have like an official court forecast I have to write like I don't always know what the weather is going to do which it it's just because like I'm not gonna look at it 24/7 yeah of course but that's just kind of like a funny thing people find out sometimes like they'll always ask me what you know, what's the weather look like and like they don't know that if I don't have to write the forecast like I probably don't know what the weather looks like, you know, yeah like especially in the winter when there's not as much going on hmm so it's like, you know, I don't know what the weather's going to do here tomorrow, yeah.
38:38
I don't, you know, like I'm not I don't have anything there's nothing to chase. I don't have a forecast like an official forecast for. The right so like my next forecast isn't until like the weekend so that's probably the next time I'll check the weather so like I'm not in at 24/7 like all day every day, there are certainly days where it's like it's like an off day if I'm off today like I'm I might not look at it today.
39:01
I'm probably just gonna like play guitar or or whatever, you know, I'm not gonna I don't want to like inundate myself with it to where I do get bored of it, yeah like I get these sparks every couple of days where it's like, I'm gonna go spend eight hours reading research or something and I just let those come and go that way.
39:18
I just, Kind of keeps it fresh for me yeah. I don't want to like force myself to do it. I don't want to be like I have to like I have to check the weather today because I'm a weather guy, you know, like if I don't want to look at it I'm not going to I want to kind of keep it something that I am as passionate as I am yeah, you know about it I guess so yeah, but do you think that um since kind of getting a career in it or or starting?
39:44
Doing professional work in it has that changed how actively like passionate you are for it, so for example, like before you had a career on it would you have known what the weather was doing every day, but now because it's sculpted by a when you have to write a report has that changed at all.
40:03
To to some degree yeah. I wouldn't say it's affected my passion for it and it has certainly affected like used to I would. I guess I was seeking some sort of validation or something So it was like I was going to post forecast on my Twitter or something right and just kind of like I wanted people to see me being a part of the community or whatever and it's like now as I do it officially I guess like I don't need that.
40:30
I don't need people to think that I'm like legitimate. I think it's part of it because I'm still just as passionate as I was. It's like, I don't need I don't have this like internal need for people to think I'm legitimate Course, you know, like I've got a degree.
40:43
I'll get to work in the field. So, it's like, I don't feel like I have to prove myself. I just, you know, I can kind of. I can do my job. I can do the parts. I'm interested in and I don't have to like go out of my way to like show you how much I'm looking at the weather like that type of thing.
40:58
Well one second that the security is just coming. No, no, we're just going to use this studio. You can lock up that one. When do we have to be out by? Okay, perfect. All right, sweet. Thanks very much. Yes. Sorry, but we really. Liked it. Thank you.
41:31
Sorry about that It's fine Don't worry about it No we're in the Bruno Studio, but it's kind of a bit more strict like timing's wise because the coronavirus the security just see what we were doing I got there. So good and if you guys gotta go you could go that's fine.
41:49
I'm enjoying this though. So this is really really interesting and we were worried that we were gonna because obviously it's not it's a brief that we only got a couple of days ago actually so we do not this is not our area. So we were worried that we're gonna come in with a bunch of really stupid.
42:06
Questions. Now, I thought girls questions have been great. I mean honestly you've given me a chance to talk about stuff that I wanted to talk about just like the misconceptions. I do feel a lot of people look at us as like crazy wild man like, you know, that's not the case and some of the questions have forced me to kind of think about stuff that I probably wouldn't have thought about it just it's been really interesting.
42:30
I appreciate it. Thank you, I'm finding this very interesting to you like this is an area which prior to like two days ago. I'd never really thought about I've never cut. Up. Yeah doesn't even occur to me that people. Yeah, bad news very interesting. Um, I think we have a few more questions if that's okay.
42:49
It's fun. Absolutely sweet. All right. Excuse me. Okay, so we were just kind of thinking um, so I know earlier you were mentioning about the idea of machine learning and big data and whatnot. I guess those kind of fall under the bracket of like. Perhaps the future of the fields and like Halloween intercity at a moment, so have you got any personal thoughts on where you feel that the field of like meteorology and perhaps don't chasing as well in general are going.
43:21
Kind of what parts of this kind of picture of the future that you might have excite you and which parts perhaps like scare you or kind of right yeah. I do kind of feel like storm chasing would be somewhat the same with the one with the one big difference being our access to information is different it's more you're going to see probably more people doing it because you know, whereas before even 10 or 15 years ago, even when I started when I started like radar apps weren't that good on your phone, you know, you you didn't like you didn't have access to high quality weather radar data, and now you do it.
44:01
I've got radar data on my phone, it's just as good. At least in some degrees as what I would have on my laptop five years ago, so like that's made it more accessible but all I think the field of storm chasing will be about the same okay, right it's still going to be about like anticipating the storms and then going there and meteorology though as a large there's a larger science.
44:23
I do think there's some big changes I'm working on or I just interviewed for a research project yesterday with the Kentucky Climate Center here, you know, and in my state and the entire project is about using machine learning. To improve weather forecasting it's like I'll have to plug, you know, hundreds of thousands of lines of data and you know into a program and then and then instead of using like, Like so like normal forecast models use like complicated physics equations and then they just solve those equations for you to forecast the atmosphere so with machine learning what they're doing is they're trying to approach where they're taking those equations out, but they're putting much more data in so instead of trying to solve these equations of the atmosphere that would you we would use like the hydrostatic equation that type of thing instead of trying to solve these equations, they're trying to pull those out and put in these huge huge data sets.
45:23
And I didn't take like a statistical approach so it's kind of you lose the benefit of having the equations that govern the atmosphere, but you get the benefit of having you know, instead of. A few grid points of data you get the benefit of having hundreds of thousands of grid points of data and I think that's going to be a huge step I still think you need the other you know with the physics equations.
45:46
I just you can't really predict the atmosphere if you ignore how it works but with machine learning and stuff, they're absolutely as a place for that in the field. I think it's going to be big even with numerical weather prediction would you've heard me say like the models a bunch of times that's just numerical weather prediction, that's what that is it's computer programs, it's all all these equations and try to you know, look at the atmosphere and in the future time.
46:10
You know, like it looks at the current state plugs in the equations it plugs the current state of the atmosphere into the equations and it tries to look at those you know down the line even with that, you know, ten years ago. We didn't have very good models you know the models weren't that good and now they're getting to a pretty good resolution right which means like they are getting two technical it's like the what we call it the resolution has to do like this the grid spacing if you have like a map it's got to do with like the points of where you would get data that go into the model so like if you had like a if you had like a 13 kilometer grid spacing it means every 13 kilometers you get one point of data right and then you're ignoring everything in between and now we've got we've got models that go to three kilometre grid spacing.
46:58
You know, which is several orders of magnitude better. I think that's going that's something I'm both excited about and worried about and in a weird way so it it does make the forecasting job easier in some ways because I mean, I can look at this computer data and I don't have to.
47:20
You still have to troubleshoot it, but I don't have to try to like imagine what it would look like at a better resolution, right? On but you know the bad side of that is that this high resolution gives more margin for error right if you've got more data going in it's you got all these you know opportunities for chaos to come into play all these types of things that can happen also if you put bad data into start it doesn't matter however resolution it is if you get bad dated start then you're gonna have a bad, you know output that's just how it's gonna work so.
47:53
That's something that like it's exciting but it's also a worrying at the same time, you know, because you don't want to see a reliance on this if you can look at a computer model that looks very realistic, you know, it looks just like weather radar does sometimes if you look at this computer model and it looks very realistic and people might have a tendency to lean on that, you know, they think oh it looks real it must be real when in reality like, As human forecasters always have to come in to like troubleshoot it, you know, and and I do figure that down the road we're gonna see a reliance upon the models.
48:27
Which isn't necessarily the wisest thing I think is they keep getting better people are gonna lean on a more and more and I don't think that's the best way to approach it until they can do like intuition like we can you know, it's still just gonna be numbers that's all they're gonna be doing just numbers and they're converting it to a picture they can't you know, conceptualize things like we can so do kind of worry as technology gets better and better that we'll see a reliance on it yeah but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited at the same time because like I do have products that are just unbelievable yeah, so you know, it's kind of it's like this love hate thing you.
49:02
Try to deal with it and I guess you try to minimize you know, minimize the the negative impacts of it but yeah, I would say I would say like this technology gets better it does worry me and excite me at the same time just with you know, the reliance on it.
49:17
I mean, you have a feel yeah you feel like. The more technology that you have to sort of solve these problems for each you feel like that kind of takes out the excitement and like the mystery because it's. Obviously when you're dealing with something natural, it's kind of so beyond your comprehension, but you feel like the kind of smarter the technology gets the more it takes away from that mystery.
49:42
In some degree in some ways, yes. And maybe not even particularly in like my life span like in an hour life span, we're gonna see major advances as we already have but. It's there's still a lot of like things in the atmosphere that we can't quantify if we can't quantify we can't plug it into a computer model, right?
50:05
I mean, we still don't have equations that describe turbulence for example, which is like one of the most common things in the atmosphere yeah so like until we have you know, I think that's one of like the Millennium problems. I believe yeah, you know trying to clean equation for turbulence, but until we have something that can describe that, you know, we're not gonna be able to quantify.
50:25
So I don't see some of these problems getting solved in like my life span but certainly a generation issue down the road they will be and and once we can quantify these things better then that's when technology can really kind of take hold of it and I think at that point there will be things that I've been there problems that I have to answer today with meteorology that you know, if my son was to get into the field he probably won't have to mm-hm, you know, like we don't even know which way a tornado forms for real on it, like, you know, like it was long believed that they formed from like the top down.
51:00
Now we've got data that's suggested they form from the bottom up yeah, so like. While we've got these problems I'm not that worried about it but as these things get like ironed out and we discover more things about it, you know it that that absolutely will open the door for technology to kind of remove some of that mystery yeah sure and give you that is like a babywoman positive or to some extent a negative because the mystery is kind of what yeah sort of discourage people from getting involved.
51:36
It's like I think that the field at large will make a deposit because just kind of the mindset of how they approach science but I do see how it could be a negative if you didn't have you know, caring people in charge of it, you know, it could absolutely become where you know forecasting is just you know, why pay a forecaster to work when we can just see what the model says and roll with that and it's going to be wrong it'd be wrong, you know thirty percent of the time but whatever we'll take it as opposed to you know us we're probably right about ninety percent of the time so you know, they'll kind of take that margin of error they'll take that a little bit of loss.
52:10
To save some money. I can see how that would be a problem but. And until I see like until I see the data that goes into the models get better. I'm not that worried about it because like right now like I was saying we do have high resolution models, but that's still only every three kilometers we're getting data that goes into them, they can't resolve it, they can't even resolve the tornado.
52:33
Right like there's been one tornado that I've ever seen in my life that was large enough that a three kilometer resolution could could sample it and it only would have two data points right so so until we can get weather observations which cover a greater scale than that like right now, you might have one weather station in every like county here, you know, like so like, Every you know, 30 miles every 30 square miles you might have like one weather observation and that's just not going to do it right and I don't think I mean you're not going to put weather stations on every house in the country but until you have some sort of resolution like that, you're always going to need forecasters to fill in the blanks yeah sure yeah just kind of the way it goes, but I do see negatives as well.
53:18
I do think. I do see a potential for those forecasters to rely to heavily on on the technology like I think there's still a place for us but I do see the forecasters even today that the you know, the first thing they do is open up the computer models right where I was taught and I'm only 30 it's not like I'm you know 60 yeah, but I was taught that like you start with the current atmosphere you look at current observations you develop an idea then you look at the models and see like kind of how they go and I see forecasters today that the first thing I do is pull up like the highest resolution model and like that's where their forecast starts and I think That's a problem sweet.
53:58
Okay, okay so yeah, one of the other things was oh kind of we wanted to understand the impacts that we might not predict meteorology having on other areas. I mean, obviously a big one is all the discussion about sort of climate change and that sort of thing. You know, do you feel like there are any sort of major breakthroughs in that kind of area or any other area of that method like for example like even do you feel like metro like the study of metrology impacting like architecture or other areas such like philosophy or or anything like that like, I mean so in the obvious ones essentially mentioned philosophy was a the one way I think that it impacts the field like that is as our under is our understanding of meteorology grows the understanding of philosophy can become kind of sharper in a way right it's like used to they thought that like the weather was you know, like some sort of religious thing yeah, you know, you would have like a god of rain and you would have a god of thunder and this type of thing and now we understand that's not the case and then philosophy kind of shifted more towards like human behavior and that type of thing yeah, so, I kind of see them being like loosely connected but like here in America, the national weather service is actually under the umbrella of the Department of Commerce, right which a lot of people don't know it's a huge, you know, it's a huge scientific field, but we fall into the Department of Commerce and there's a reason for that just because like the weather impacts everything doesn't matter what field you're in the weather impacts you.
55:42
The most obvious would be like logistics like like trucking companies, you know, like shipping things and that type of thing obviously, you know, if you've got to drive a truck across three states, you can't just look at a local what they're at you've got to have like a national agency that that's you know, kind of having this interconnected sharing of data so that they have like a source they can go to to run the shipping operations right so that's that's a big one but yeah any industry.
56:11
I mean obvious things on a day-to-day. I say obviously like on a day-to-day operation like construction companies yeah right they need to know what the weather's going to do so they can plan how they're going to build out right or how they're going to build a shopping mall or whatever it might be but on a larger scale you mentioned the climate.
56:30
I think people try to oversimplify like climate change it's kind of like you're you've got like the two camps of like it is or it isn't happening and I think that's ridiculous it's not how science works right like we know the climate changing it is changing like, And it can be possible that like, of course there are natural changes happening, but it's also undeniable the human or impacting it right like all of these things can kind of be true it doesn't have to be one of the other like all of the things are true we're impacting it's happening like and and here in America, we've got a one of our southern states Louisiana, I mean, there are entire like towns they're small towns but their towns nonetheless they're very entire towns that 20 years ago were well populated.
57:18
And you know people were living there it wasn't thriving. I mean, they were relatively poor areas but they were living there and now they're underwater. Right yeah they're just underwater from legacy level rise like these things are happening and as I'm not a climatologist specifically, I don't know exactly what the impacts will be mm-hmm but some of them are certainly scary yeah.
57:42
I don't think it's something you should like run home crying about yeah, you know, it's it is what it is, but uh, there's certainly impacts that are occurring that aren't what you would want to see yeah and, I mean, we're seeing like large-scale rainfall events here and like the center United States every kind of more common because the water warms up you get more water released in the atmosphere which fuels more rain you kind of get this feedback loop seeing that type of thing happen, but um, I don't know how that's going to affect most industries.
58:16
I would imagine. Not well yeah, you know, if I had to give you an educated guess. I would say it's gonna be a negative for most of them, you know, it's I mean with agriculture. Rain seems like a good thing but too much friends not right so like we're not getting like ideally for agriculture here like the central US.
58:38
I don't know how it is everywhere but here in the Central US they used to thrive based on like small rainfall events frequently right so get like, you know a small rainfall event here a small rainfall event there. And they're not getting that anymore it's like they're getting like nine days straight of heavy rain and then a month of nothing yeah so it's like it's kind of this all or nothing type thing and that's you know that it's clearly at least somehow tied into climate change, you know, it's the frequencies too high for it to be an isolated event yeah right like it's happening every season mm-hmm so I would imagine the impacts aren't good you know, but hopefully we'll figure it out, you know, hopefully we'll figure out how to deal with it make it work yeah, yeah.
59:21
Okay sweet um, that's great, um, yeah, I think that's most of our questions. I'm yeah, yeah just gonna say so like so as a part of our kind of projects we have to do well we'd like to kind of do some hands on kind of research and and try and involve ourselves in the area a little bit the the project last four weeks so I'll just we'll kind of wondering is there like what would be like the easiest way to kind of start or get involved in over forecasting or just like meteorology in general, like I could activate.
59:56
These that you give a sort of like a few teaching primary school children, you know, like young kids like that kind of thing that can just get someone a bit involved and understanding it on a kind of very basic level or even like yeah, let's say or even like in terms of forecasting like what would be the the best place to like start out so like where if you if there was just somebody that just wanted to get involved but they had no clue where to start out what would you suggest?
1:00:23
I would probably give you. I'd probably give you like a three-pronged approach right sounds complicated but it's not it's I'll probably be like what places already that so I would say over there. I guess it would be like probably the UK med office or whatever. I'm not sure who you're all.
1:00:40
Exactly where you're at so I'm not sure who you're like local weather service for me you came out of this okay, so okay, so yeah you came at office look there because they're gonna produce forecast discussions okay, right so you're gonna want to do that so you can see what they're looking at mm-hmm and there's a website called.
1:01:01
Meteo Center so m e t e o C e n t r e yeah right that's gonna have like raw data it's gonna have like forecast maps and that type of thing so you can just kind of get a feel for that on your own, you know, you can see what they're actually looking at yeah and honestly if you just do those to you'll kind of get a feel for like the right direction because the the UK mad office is gonna give you like you're gonna can see how they're putting it all together, okay, right so you're gonna get to see how they're doing it and then and then the other websites gonna give you like the access to the actual maps and stuff.
1:01:36
So you can kind of you'll be able to go back and forth and see like oh they're talking about this thing. I can see that on you know this other map sure and and then if you need anything I can I don't care to like put a presentation not like a large presentation but I can put like a thing together to show you like what the forecast process is, like not okay.
1:01:53
I mean, honestly any anything would be great. Yeah I can do that I can I've done it before I spoke it like schools and stuff so I got I've got like PowerPoint presentations and stuff they like talk about storm chasing and forecasting stuff so I put something together that's fine, yeah not be great thank you very much yeah, no problem it's it doesn't bother me at all this stuff's fun sweetie nice perfect, yeah.
1:02:18
I'm quite I'm quite excited to actually give it a kind of go myself to school at this point like this sounds interesting yeah, yeah. Also if you guys want I can send you like I I can send you like what hour like forecast discussion would look like yeah, right?
1:02:35
I'll get up like some archived ones and show you like I can send you a thing I'll probably send it in a word document or something but it'll uh, it'll have like where you'll see like right down like the raw numbers will compare the different models like so like just for temperature we might look at this model has this high temperature and this model has this one and you know, so I have all that written out and at the bottom I'll have like, A simple terms forecast discussion so like what you would hear on the TV and then below it.
1:03:03
I'll have like a technical one like a real technical discussion. I can send that to you guys as well so you guys can kind of see how it goes from like just numbers to a technical discussion and then how we break that down into like a simple discussion for like the public at large thank you very much, okay the last question we have because we are trying to research this as thoroughly as we possibly can and don't want to leave.
1:03:33
Any stone left unturned is there anything that we haven't asked you or haven't considered that you would consider to be relevant or even if it's even if it's not major or particularly important yeah any other kind of avenues that we might look at oh no not necessarily the one thing someone I don't know I decided to do this.
1:03:58
I had like two goals, okay one was I like help as much as I could right? I just wanted to help you all do this and and then the other one was I wanted to to kind of like get the out. Idea out like of the misconceptions that like, they're not true like storm chasers aren't crazy you can find crazy storm chasers, but we're not crazy yeah and so like and you guys really give me the opportunity to do that.
1:04:21
I guess I would say like if you see people being mean to like TV weather people and just call on like like for one if it's a female she's not a weather girl, she's a meteorologist, first of all, it's like always like that and and like, But if you see him being mean to TV whether people like their scientists, they'll let them call on the weather person yeah, all right like that that would be by one message okay, okay no that's perfect yeah thanks don't underplay the weatherman the meteorologist.
1:04:52
Okay. I think that is everything. I mean, if we have any more questions. Burn is it okay, if we sort of email you you guys can reach me anytime yeah it's fun fact, okay sweetie thank you so much so much it's actually been super super helpful yeah no it's been very interesting but like I said, if you guys need anything reach out to me, I don't care a bit and I'll get I'll get a thing put together to send you guys.
1:05:17
I'll send you my youtube channel a minute yeah not be great anything, thank you very much so much, all right. I'll speak to you soon, you'll be in contact, alright, thank you. Thank you.

It was late at night, when he started to cry.
He didn't want to cry, but he did.
It's been years since he's last let himself feel, or was it since he was last allowed to feel?
He choked on his sobs, uncomfortable with his tears. He's forgotten how to properly cry. His entire body is shaking, and the connections between flesh and wire hurts.
He stops crying. He starts crying again.
This continues for another few minutes, until he feels as if he can't possibly have any more tears.
He wipes his face, pulls the covers up to his chin, and falls asleep.
(from Twilight on the Sea) I really like this bcus I don’t think I’ve ever really typed out crying in this way, n I tried to make it feel like it was a lot
8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
Cass was quiet for a moment. “... you know what? Maybe I’ll just go up there and surprise you.”
“If you do, then you already ruined the surprise, haven’t you?”
“Eh, I dunno about that. Seeing my beautiful face is a shock for many people.”
“Oh, I’m sure of it.”
“Hey, Koda? I don’t know about you, but it’s really late here.”
“Really?” Koda asks, then remembers that time zones exist. “Oh crap, what time is it over there?”
“It’s midnight. What about you?”
“It’s eight o’clock. Only four hours difference?”
“Oh hey, that’s not so bad.”
“It reduces our time,” Koda said, a bit whining.
“Not if I have anything to say about it.”
“What are you going to do? Move here? Send for me?”
“You’ll see.”
(from Together) This was a gift for one my best friends on here, @suncatchr , and it’s about his ocs!!! YOU DON’T SEEM SCARED.
Del Rio shrugs. “Working as a cop, it makes you numb to some things. It’s good, it lets you react to things as you should, and not how you’d want to.”
YOU SOUND SAD ABOUT THAT.
He makes a noncommittal noise. “It is what it is.” He eats another spoonful of his ice cream, then gets a thought.
“Can you show up?”
HOW SO?
“Can you,” he tries, waving his spoon around, “Manifest?”
I DON’T KNOW. I’LL TRY.
“I’m sure you’ll do just fine,” Del Rio assures, and he can feel the air around him smile. The...world, he thinks, around him shifts just slightly, and there seems to be a chink in the armor for a moment before it goes away, as if someone had wiped the glass clear. He realizes that this is her, trying to show up in a physical form, step out of the phone.
He doesn’t know where to look, but then his confusion wanes when a butterfly shows up, fluttering towards him. It lands near his phone, skitters a bit, flaps its wings.
“Lucy?” he asks, transfixed on the butterfly. Its orange wings are bright under the sunlight.
I THOUGHT I’D TRY SMALL, FOR MY FIRST TRIAL.
“Well, you certainly nailed it.” He smiled warmly at the butterfly, and he had the crazy notion that it smiled back at him.
(adapted from The Policeman , the first fic I posted!)
23. If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?
Yeah, probably The Policeman lmao, I remember it today n I cringe a little at the very obvious refs to other fandoms I made. Despite that, it continues being one of my best hits!
24. Have you ever deleted one of your published fics?
Never
25. What do you look for in a beta?
I’m just thankful to have gotten a beta in general in life at all
26. Do you beta yourself? If so, what kind of beta are you?
I beta’ed once, and since English is my 2nd language, I pointed out syntax confusion, typos, n continuity errors
27. How do you feel about collaborations?
Can be done, it’s just that I am frightened. Tried doing that, it fell thru, n the new thing that came up, I still have to hold up my end of the bargain ;;-;;
28. Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.
cries omg ok so!!! Chancy_Lurking ( @lurkerviolin ) is one of my faves, n we’ve become friends, n their Felix+ Sense8 series is the reason for it all, and u know it’s good if it managed to make a friendship that’s last its good while, and also they’re so nice, and we vibe so well!!! thegoatz ( @daniel-bryan ) is also now one of my bestest friends ever, and I wuv him so much, he is such a good kid, n he’s so enthusiastic about writing, and I hope that spark never goes out!!! And adamwhatareyouevendoing ( @skatingthinandice ) bcus she’s doing a rewrite of The Last Kingdom where it’s all gay where it should be and vnjkdfsnvkd God, what a wonderful friend!!!
29. If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?
I actually technically am working on a sequel to @rettaroo ‘s A New Kind of Touch ! Another promise I have to hold up eventually ;;;-;;;
30. Do you accept prompts?
Sure!
31. Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant?
I try to follow canon as much as I possibly can!
32. How do you feel about smut?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
33. How do you feel about crack?
Eh, it’s alright. I don’t normally look for it, so I don’t really have a solid opinion on it
34. What are your thoughts on non-con and dub-con?
I don’t want to read it, but I have so far encountered it twice very amicably: once here in a ficlet, and another in a longer fic on AO3, and they were both very good
35. Would you ever kill off a canon character?
Probably not, I don’t like sad things!
36. Which is your favorite site to post fic?
AO3! I’m RedLlamas on it!
37. Talk about your current wips.
Lmao which one. The one I’m currently working on is an impregnation kink turned “oh no I actually do wanna have a family” feelings fic!
38. Talk about a review that made your day.
Gonna be real w u, the best comments I’ve gotten have mainly been from my friends, who either write a paragraph or two going into detail of the fic, or just send a one sentence comment that’s just “screams!” I’ve gotten very few paragraphs from other people, n they’re always so!!!
Tumblr media
My friends are the realest :’)
39. Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?
The perks of being a rarepair writer is that the only people who read my fics are the ones actively looking for content!!! And they can’t complain about my work because No One Else Is Writing For It!!!!!!
Tumblr media
40. Write an alternative ending to [insert fic title] (or just the summary of one).
All my fics are masterpieces, so I’ll do a summary change! For don’t you just know (exactly what they’re thinking?)
Dakota finds himself in unexpected heartbreak, and the universe decides to bring him in the direction of a night club with a dancer with stars on his skin.

Coffee Runs Are Never Quick
A Taron Egerton X Reader fic
Warnings: None
Wordcount: 1802
just your average fluff. it is not great I know lol but I needed to write it down because I had this dream.
Coffee and then editing. That was the plan, at least before those plans were demolished from within the Coffee shop. I woke up today, looked at my phone and saw two things, first, a text from Emie reminding me that we were to meet at 11:40 finish editing our film for class at 12:30 and to bring her usual order of a medium cold brew, extra shot of espresso, cream and 6 pumps of caramel. The second thing I saw was that it was currently 10:57 am and I was already late.
Scrambling of my bed and to the nearest clean clothes that could possibly work together, I changed out of pajamas and scrambled into the bathroom to brush my teeth, one foot still working its way into my jeans.
11:07 and I am out the door, laptop bag at my side, filled with the essentials, and headphones resting in their usual spot
“Cmon Freddie, give me speed give me luck” , I whispered to my phone as I shuffled my Queen playlist, rushing down the sidewalk to our local Starbucks.
11:12, and I rush into the door to discover there was quite the line today. Guess living so close never did guarantee a quick coffee run.
“Not today, please not today anytime but today...” stepping in line I shot Em a text,
“Hey… Gonna be Late sry! Don’t kill me plez!”
Her response, a gif consisting of what seemed to be a man crying uncontrollably. I was fine.
“Someone’s upset” The man behind me said, having seen Emie’s response over my shoulder.
Removing an earbud to address the man who spoke, I chuckled,
“Hehe yeah, She’s inconsolable.” I joked, slipping the phone into my pocket so as to not be snooped on again.
“Yea, oh sorry, I didn’t mean to spy, I just noticed it. I wasn’t reading your texts. Promise.”
He reassured and I turned to look at the man now. What stood before me was a vision I definitely did not expect to see this morning, let alone any morning.
“You’re.. I’m sorry Hi, You’re Taron Egerton.” the words come out faster than I could think and he just nodded with a friendly smile
“Eh I think so, at least that’s what people call me.” He answered jokingly.
The line moved forward and us with it,
“I um, I am sorry, that’s a dumb thing to say, to anyone really but dumb because you are you and wow, words are not my strongsuit when I am not caffinated.”
stumbling through my sentence I laughed at myself and shook my head in disbelief, I was acting a fool. But Taron seemed to enjoy this, or at least find it slightly amusing as he laughed as well,
“Don’t worry, words bad I at am too.” the causal screw up of his sentence sparked another grin from me.
“Ah, good to know hehe, I am Y/N, by the way.” I gave my name finally, and extended my hand to shake his, which he received and shook with a smile.
     “Lovely to meet you Y/N.”
11:16,
The man in front of me finishes ordering and I hurry up to the cashier,
“Hey Tess, the usual today, Emrie’s too and whatever he is getting as well,” as I said this I gestured to Taron who shook his head
“Oh no don’t do that, It’s good thanks.”
He tried to turn down the gesture but, I insisted, I always was quite stubborn when it came to gifting others. Seeing I would not budge from my decision he gave Tess his order and she rang it up. Before I could thank him for letting me get his drink, his card slipped into the card reader, and soon the transaction went through, receipt printed.
“Did… did you just hijack my payment.”
“Yup. Told you not to do that, Now I had to pay for both of ours instead.” He smiled, a glint in his eye, playful. Tess just smiled at this and handed his receipt over.
“That was unnecessary. But Thank you”
He shrugged,
“with you being so kind you gave me no choice but to be kind back.”
It was honestly unfathomable how nice he really was. I mean I always thought he was a nice guy but like, no he is genuinely a good guy.
Our names were called and I grabbed my drinks, and thanked Taron again, about to head out the door, before I noticed he had sat down at a table alone.
11: 22    “Are you meeting anyone?”
He shook his head and sipped his coffee
“No, I have about an hour or so before I have to meet with some photographers for a shoot.”
11:22
you can sit Y/N you have 20 minutes. You can meet her right? You already said you’d be late right? Or is this inruding, would it be weird if I sat with him?
I was knocked from my thoughts as Taron spoke again.
“You know I’m pretty sure it’s bad luck to drink alone, if you’d like to sit you are fully welcome.”
An invitation. Take it.
“I thought that only applied to alcohol, but I’ll indulge you”
I responded jokingly and sat across from him, setting my laptop bag beside my chair and the two coffees on the side of the table.
“Oh I’m sorry if you have somewhere to be don’t worry about it.” He said gesturing to Em’s coffee,
“Oh no it’s fine I have time and she can wait. Trust me. So what brings you here, just the photoshoot?”
“Yeah, and I’m just taking a holiday, needed some time to recharge after the last year.”
Rocketman had been released and The Dark Crystal Netlfix series had also just come out. I knew it was nonstop for him, from premieres to press conferences to talk shows. He was probably exhausted.
“And you? What bring Y/N here?” He asked back, folding his hands on the table between us,
“Oh I go to university here. I actually study film funnily enough. Writing, directing, all that fun stuff.”
Taron smiled widely, eyes lighting up,
“Really? That’s brilliant! Are you currently working on anything?”
“Ah well, My friend and classmate Emrie and I have to finish editing our short film for one of our classes. It was a project on sound in film, specifically film driven by the music. So we all picked a song and made a short film to be shown with the song.”
I explained, cheerily as I was quite proud of our work this time, and well I loved talking about this stuff naturally.
“That sounds fantastic, what song did you two pick?” Taron was genuinely interested in our project, it was honestly cute, and very sweet.
“I Want To Hold Your Hand, The Beatles. We felt it would be fun to make a cute short story from it.” I answered and pulled my laptop from the bag opening it and pulling up our in progress project,
“I uh, have it here if you would like to see what we have. We only have to clean up some of the cuts and add the credit tiles at the end but it’s mostly finished,”
He nodded his head quickly and answered almost instantly,
“I would love to, please, that would be great.’
Surprised by his interest I plugged in my headphones and handed them over before pressing play from the start for him to see.
What then played was a film with two girls, seemingly showing up for a date, the main one, had a determined face, eyes set on the other’s hand. The entire time the film progressed with the song playing as this girl tried to intertwine her hand with the other girls but was stopped by the most inconvenient of things. Geese, strangers, tripping, children, even grabbing the wrong person’s hand. Just as our main heroine seemed ready to give up her goal, the other took her hand with ease, smiling at her with a knowing look. Taron was smiling the entire time,
11:36
Taron takes the headphones off and hands them over,
“That was brilliant, super fun. I particularly loved the geese attack, how did you stage that?”
“Oh that was unplanned they actually got harrassed by an angry goose. We had to run away and finish filming the next day because we got scared.”
I admitted, trying and failing to contain my laughter. He laughed with me shaking his head
“Incredible haha, honestly I love that. You two are going to get an A on this project or I’ll waltz in to your professor myself and demand one.” He said, and put on a ‘matter of fact’ tone that made me giggle, cheeks flustering,
“Thanks, you should definitely do that haha, I’m sure that wouldn’t cause a stir or anything.”
   “None at all,”
He just smiled, we both grew quiet and sipped away at our drinks. Enjoying the silence and the company for a few moments.
11:43
“WHERE R U”  a text flashed on my screen
“Crap… I’m sorry I have to go I am a bad project partner. Haha I’m already late.” I put my stuff all together and stood,
“Again, thank you,for the coffee and for the conversation. This was very nice Taron, I hope your shoot goes well and enjoy your holiday.”
Just as I was about to turn away He spoke up
“Well thanks for letting me get your coffee and sitting with me. And You’ll have to let me know how you do on your film.”
His eyes were kind and his smile warm, I gave a nod smiling in return,
“Sure I’ll email your agent to tell you,” I joked and he shook his head chuckling
“Or you could tell me over coffee again tomorrow morning, same time.”
My heart practically stopped and jumpstarted all at once
“I.. um, no.. I mean yea! No yea definitely for sure, that sounds, that um that sounds wonderful, I’d like that.” I laughed again at my lack of ability to speak properly.
“Good. Don’t be late alright? And if you get an A perhaps I’ll treat you to lunch as well?”
He teased and my face went red.
“Oh trust me I won’t be, promise and lunch sounds good… but If I get a B, I’ll settle for a bag of crisps.”
11:45
As we laughed and said goodbye again I hurried out of the shop and towards campus and called Em
“Hey, No… yes, I know sorry, No…. Yes… 6 pumps like you asked… No but I promise I have a good reason… very good… a very handsome reason. No you won’t believe me.”
She indeed did not believe me, but she will when I go for coffee again tomorrow morning.

Tagged by @afterdarkesthour
Thank you, I had fun doing this <3
1: Are you named after someone?
Yes, my grandmother.
2: When was the last time you cried?
This morning lol
Today was supposed to be my graduation day and a teacher sent us a video with the speech she was supposed to give us during the ceremony and I got a little emotional
3: Do you like your handwriting?
It used to bother me when I was little but now I’ve learned to accept it the way it is.
However, I still wish it was more legible because sometimes not even I can understand it and that’s a problem when I’m interpreting
4: What is your favourite lunch meat?
Not a big fan of it altogether
Here in Spain there’s a thing called jamón, and I eat that sometimes but I don’t know if that’s considered lunch meat
6: If you were another person, would you be friends with you?
I think it would be a little hard because I tend to be distant towards others, but I think I would want myself as a friend because I’m loyal and a good listener (and also very humble)
7: Do you use sarcasm?
People often think I’m being sarcastic when I’m actually serious so I don’t know what to think
8: Do you still have your tonsils?
Yes? Is it a common thing to have them removed?? I am confusion
9: Would you bungee jump?
Y.E.S
It’s something I’ve always felt drawn to, I want to try it at least once in my life
I love heights, I want to know what it’s like to just let yourself fall
10: What is your favourite kind of cereal?
I don’t really eat cereal that much
I don’t know, something chocolate flavored I guess
11: Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
Yep, mainly due to all those years of my mom judging me silently when I didn’t
12: Do you think you’re a strong person?
I sometimes think I’m not because I know there’s people out there who have gone through a lot more than me, but I always try to remember that I have my own demons and I’m doing a pretty decent job at facing them.
But I do want to become stronger
13: What is your favourite ice cream?
Berries <3
14: What is the first thing you notice about people?
I actually had to think about this one
I think it’s their brows
15: What is the least favourite physical thing you like about yourself?
I have a VERY round face and I’m the only one in my family with this face shape
But I’m learning to accept and love it
16: What colour trousers and shoes are you wearing now?
White with blue roses shorts
Not wearing shoes
17: If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
Probably indigo or navy blue
18: Favourite smell?
Citric smells, mint, and hyacinths because they remind me of my childhood home

My mama
20: Favourite sport to watch?
I really am not a sports person but sometimes I watch women’s tennis with my dad

I’m using a chamomile spray to lighten it so I can dye it with henna so in a few weeks it’s going to be somewhere between brown and copper
22: Eye colour?
Brown. Just brown.
23: Do you wear contacts?
No, I’ve always been happy with my glasses but I did want to try them out cause I wanted to wear them on my graduation -_-

This movie called Hush that a friend told me to watch.
It was supposed to be very good, was not impressed.
27: What colour of shirt are you wearing?
Blue
28: Summer or winter?
Winter all the way
I HATE the sun. When I’m outside and there is no place with shade I get angry, I don’t know why, but I find it annoying. I do, however like summer nights.
And I like the winter cold that seems like it’s biting at your face.
29: Hugs or kisses?
Neither?
I definitely prefer hugs to kisses but I’m more of a love-you-but-stay-away person
30: What book are you currently reading?
Orlando by Virginia Woolf, because in Spain when you finish a degree, you have to turn in this big paper about a subject that you choose and I picked something related to this book.

A friend. I miss eating at a kebab palce with her and chatting about the most random things
