i'm doing an extra repeat or two in the main body of the shawl, but i put in a lifeline at the point where the pattern says to stop, just in case. i am not super confident in my understanding of the border and how the math is supposed to work out there, so worst comes to worst i have the option of ripping back.

i also bought new cords, and so far i love them! they're from lantern moon, and they fit my knitter's pride interchangeable tips

i'd been getting really frustrated with the plastic cables from knitter's pride, and was dreading the idea of having to swap over entirely to a new brand (even after sitting through my cousin's extensive chiaogoo propaganda). so! exciting turn of events!!! tbh i think these cables are just as good as chiaogoo's.

my arms were hurting a lot this week (in a tendonitis kind of way) so i switched it up (again) and did some modified portuguese-style knitting. the proper way to do it is to tension behind your neck and flick the yarn with your left thumb, but it ended up being significantly more comfortable for me to flick with my right index finger. and i didn't mind experimenting on the bag, because it's getting felted anyway.

Whenever Sei burries themselves at Amphitrite's side, she uses it as an advantage. She'll try make them as comfortable as possible with hope that maybe Poseidon would fall asleep. There's a 50/50 chance that it'll work. And yes, if they fall asleep, it's still impossible to remove them from Amphi's side (but that's a price she's willing to pay so that Sei would finally get some sleep. She doesn't mind tho, Sei's adorable when they're asleep)

Every time Hades goes to Olympus, Poseidon's going to latch onto him for at least an hour or two. Hades excepted defeat a long time ago, so he just hugs and cuddles Poseidon right back. If anyone dares to try to comment on this, they're gonna earn a glare and a promise of painful death from Hades.

With Hestia, they usually sit by the hearth and cuddle. Hestia, as small as she might be, will still manage to fit Poseidon in her arms. She'll place little kisses on their forehead, she'll sing softly to them, she'll run her fingers through their hair, and Poseidon loves it. Sometimes, when Hestia is making clothes, Poseidon just watches and enjoys the warmth of the hearth.

Sei will latch onto Demeter after she's done with working in her field. They did the mistake of trying to while she was working, and they nearly got slashed with her scythe. They do it the most in the winter and fall, cuz they know that Demeter's missing her daughter at that time, so they want to be there for comfort. Demeter really appreciates this, so when she finds a sea god leached to her side, she'll simply smile, ruffle their hair and feed them freshly baked goods.

When it comes to Hera, Sei latches onto her whenever they see that she's overworking herself. They'll only let go when Hera has either relaxed, fallen asleep, or promised to take it slower. Hera sometimes acts that she's annoyed with this, but it really warms her heart that Poseidon is taking care of her in their own little way.

Zeus doesn't really care when he has Poseidon latched on him. He'll keep doing what he was doing before. Zeus is the only one who manages to move Poseidon. When Sei latches onto someone, they're not gonna move from that spot. Zeus however, manages to somehow move Poseidon around. No one knows how he does it, not even Poseidon. So if Zeus is walking around Olympus, he'll move Poseidon like he's giving them a piggyback ride. If he's sitting down doing some work, he'll move Poseidon onto his lap like he's cradling a child and just keeps working.

Also increasingly aware that a LOT of people "manage" getting through the 40+ hour work week by sleeping less than is healthy and relying on stimulants like coffee and energy drinks to keep them going.

For people who are unwilling or unable to do this...work really does just dominate your life. Like we really should not have to rely on unhealthy practices just to have a social life or keep on top of housework or whatever.

I know I post about this a lot but I'm so TIRED all the time and it's just so depressing that this is how we're expected to spend the one life we have.
