ngl I have so many Opinions on this season, but a lot people who actually watched it have articulated their thoughts much better than I could. But, since u brought it up I Need to talk abt the Jack Black in the room.

Cuz I feel like what made the Mandalorian stand out and appeal to so many people was its lack of connection to the greater sw universe. In that the show chose to focus on simply how this one character navigates a post-ot galaxy. Of course season 2 strained this concept a fair bit, but I feel like the writers were able to make it work by making the characters introduced both central to the plot and world-building. At least enough to make them feel less like the cameos they were.

So the choice to put two of the Most Recognizable Public Figures in the newest season just feels like the showrunners are abandoning any semblance of making a compelling story. And instead made the choice that would place the most butts in seats, despite doing so absolutely destroyed any sense of actual storytelling that was present in season 1
