The December Coup
December 1, 1989
The December Coup was the biggest coup to ever hit the Republic of the Philippines. Around 3,000 elite Philippine Marines, Scout Rangers, and other Armed Forces personnel took part in the coup that attempted to overthrow the administration at the time. In the initial day of the coup, rebel forces not only managed to secure armor and groudn attack aircraft, but also captured important military facilities. The National Capital Region and many of the surrounding areas thus became a battlefield for several days, as loyalist soldiers held their ground against the rebelious troops. In the end, government forces won, but not after heavy casualties and losses in equipment.

Featuring:
FairChild ( @temper-temper ) and @askpokeeosin as pilots from the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing, as rebel marines move in to capture Villamor Air Base

Rooster as an army soldier while Camp Aguinaldo was being bombed by rebel piloted AT-28s.
@ask-jetstream as an F-5A pilot of the 6th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 5th Fighter Wing, as the squadron was being scrambled to counter the rebel AT-28s.

Haha, guess who TOTALLY forgot to post this immediately after the other one?
Anyway, this here is one of my favorite things I've ever drawn! Since there were still a couple days hours of July left, I figured I would go through my mutuals' lists of OCs and try and wrangle as many disabled characters as I could for one big Disability Awareness Month piece! This was the last thing I made for Art Fight, and what a doozy it was to put together! I found a brush I liked to make the shadows of the tree's leaves, though I could have used it a little more effectively. I ran out of time in the end, so there's a lot of detail I never got to add on, like proper shadows and Cutie Marks.
Characters (and their owners!) in order from left to right, back to front: Indigo Splash (@pink-pone) Orange Sherbert (@mymind-theirvisions) Hicks (@sugar0612) Crystal Evening (@frej3318 I really hope I got that right!) Nimrie (@ourhome-ourstory) Airflow (Me!) Sweet Placebo (@caballo-bay-missives Also me!) Amaryllis (@askablindflorist) Puzzle Piece (@unlocktheaskblog) Jasmine Fahrenheit (@techbro-arts) Frae Welk (@ask-tay-relic)

“Techbro”
---
The Character above belong to @techbro-arts . If one has not already seen their blog, I would recommend giving them a visit!
As per tradition, miscellaneous thoughts, and an additional item below the break!
Tumblr media
After having seen this post, I figured that the food in question may not be adequate for the characters in question, so I sought to find some sweet treats instead, or at least I hope! I apologize if they may not be to taste. From left to right, the desserts are as follows: Ube, Mais Con Yelo, and Leche Flan. Initially I had wanted the Ube to be “Halo Halo” But alas, I was not satisfied with how it looked, so I settled on a modified form of Ube. Hopefully these foods find themselves agreeable to Techbro and Jassy!
With that having been said... Hallo! I have more posts planned in the upcoming days, so rather than dwell too much on the context of texts for this post, I think I shall save such explanatory thoughts for future posts, haha.
 Cheers!

Jasmine: (Sitting peacefully on a bench in Goodneighbor, knitting something)
Drifter: (Leaning on a wall and eyeing the young girl for a little too long, approaching her after a moment with a malicious smile)
Hancock: (Appears behind them, gripping a hand on their shoulder) “Hey there friend, why don't you and I have a little chat?”
The Entire Town: (Knows that guy done fucked up)
Drifter: (Realizes they've done fucked up)
[Minutes Later]
Hancock: (Calmly strides over to the teen girl) “Hey there little sister, watcha got there?”
Jasmine: (Holds up her project with cute sparkling eyes) “Making a scarf for Nick.”
Hancock: (Wiping some fresh blood off his coat and hands) “Hehe, that will sure keep the old circuit board warm. Say, why don't we head on inside before it gets too cold out? Nick will kill me if you get sick.”
Jasmine: (Stands up with a small bright smile) “Okay.”
Hancock: (Puts a hand around her shoulder to lead the girl inside the State house, rushing past the groaning bloodied Drifter in an alleyway)
(Don't even think about messing with his baby sister)

blue lock men and what i imagine their cologne smells like!
you can click on each of the examples to read more about their notes and be just as delusional as i was when i was imagining this. be advised that the website i used functions like it's ancient so it will temporarily stop working if you spam open tabs!!
characters: rin, sae, barou, bachira, isagi
Tumblr media
itoshi rin: warm and spicy, something more mature. initially hits you with a sharp, alluring woody smell before melting into something a bit sweeter.
example: man in black by bvlgari (notes: rum, tobacco, iris, guaiac wood and benzoin. woody and warmly spicy. sophisticated, seductive, and smooth.)
‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎
itoshi sae: sweet and calming with a spicy finish. thinking along the lines of a delicious dessert that your nose follows before you’re smacked in the face with the warmth and intensity of it. it completely wraps up all your senses in the best way possible.
example: noir extreme by tom ford (notes: vanilla, amber, sandalwood, jasmine, orange blossom, cardamom. sweet and spicy. complex.)
‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎
barou shouei: definitely something that gets everyone’s attention the second he’s in the vicinity. he wants all eyes on him, after all. strong, classic and rich.
example: fahrenheit absolute by dior (notes: amber, smoky, violet flower, balsamic. woody, floral, and musky. deeply rich and dark.)
side note: was an avid axe body spray user when he was a kid
‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎
bachira meguru: bright and fresh. when he walks by heads turn to follow. reminiscent of warm summer days and golden sunshine, citrusy and crisp - like a glass of ice cold lemonade on a hot day.
example: acqua di parma colonia by acqua di parma (notes: lavendar, rosemary, citrus, rose, jasmine. citrusy, aromatic, and freshly spicy. juicy and summery.)
‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎
isagi yoichi: elegant and masculine, also into the classics. isagi is just him. the moment. imagining something clean and sharp that mellows out over time into a softer aromatic scent.
example: armani code by giorgio armani (notes: tobacco, leather, star anise, olive blossom, bergamot, lemon. citrusy, floral, and softly spicy. smooth and clean.)

I was tagged by @ineffabildaddy to fill out a get to know you doodad so here we are! Thank you for the tag, I love these things!
Real name: Jasmine - I was named after my dad's favorite flower
Nicknames & origins: In high school I was called Raph (we assigned teenage mutant ninja turtles to each other like normal ppl) and Grandma (long running joke of our friends long story) Jael was my first one online, an alias back in my days of livejournal. Jay is the most common and I enjoy it because it's gender neutral and easy to remember.
AO3:
https://archiveofourown.org/users/PatchouliDreamsForever/profile
Social media: this is the only place I am active
Pets: Oscar, Grace, and Bruiser. Not pictured is Buddy, a lab/mastiff mix
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hobbies: hiking, writing, foraging, camping, video games, reading, embroidery, cooking, other things that my noodle brain has forgotten
Personality: I tend to be more shy, especially in unfamiliar situations. I'm quick to be friends if I vibe well with someone. I tend to babble like a hamster on uppers when I talk about things I enjoy. Idk I'm just a super laid back queer stoner type (who is currently very stoned lol)
Fav holiday: I don't have a favorite, actually? I just enjoy the family time of a holiday meal together.
Fav food: edamame
Fav dessert: I'm a whore for gelato
Fav color: eggplant
Fav quotes: "But I digress..." is very relevant to my daily life
Fav books: The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, The Jungle Books, Fahrenheit 451, Good Omens, Wind in the Willows, I could go on but I won't
Fav TV shows: okay in no particular order, let the list unfold- Golden Girls, Buffy, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Interview with the Vampire, Willow, Good Omens, Staged, Our Flag Means Death, A League of Their Own, Torchwood,
Fav films: Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Birdcage, But I'm a Cheerleader, Funny Face, Charade, Princess Bride, The Blue's Brothers, Eyes Without a Face, Chicago, and so many more
Fav characters: I have so many!
Fav actors: currently all about David Tennant but Audrey Hepburn is always my go-to answer
Fav songs: Rhiannon Giddens is an amazing artist and everything I've heard from her is my favorite. I highly recommend Julie
Fav genre: I listen to so many things. I guess most listened to is blues and folk, but classical is another main staple of mine.
Fav podcast: I don't really listen to them tbh
Have you ever met a celebrity? Yes. Went to a Supernatural convention back in ...2013? Osric was running around the lobby in footie pajamas hanging out with everyone. I froze when Misha sat next to me at the cocktail party. I hugged Matt and he was super sweet. Karaoke was super fun. Ah, memories 😌
Have you ever been to a concert? Quite a few! I haven't been to one in a long time though.
Do you collect anything? I like rocks, books, physical media (CDs, DVDs, VHS), teas, wax seals and stationery
Idols? Idk that I really have an idol?
Is there a real life friend you can be yourself around? For the most part, yeah
Where would you love to travel? So many places. I haven't traveled far at all.
Random fact about yourself: when I was a kid I'd spend road trips daydreaming about running off into the woods and living a hermit life in a cave
This took longer than it should have but it was fun! I tag any of my moots that want to have an excuse to do it!

CANNA GET A KISS? 💋
💞💚Weed lipbalm recipe + glamour magic intent 💚💞
warning: this balm contains active thc. please be over 21 before ANY ritual or consumption.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🍃INGREDIENTS🍃
1/6-1/4 cup decarboxolated weed (I'll explain this step later)
1/2 c coconut oil
1/4 c water
1/8 c of a lighter oil, such as apricot (personally used grapeseed)
1/4 beeswax pellets, preferably organic
1/2 c flavouring herbs, such as rose, sage, lavendar, mint, vannila, cinnamon, jasmine, whatever you desire!
1 tsp sugar
💄SPECIAL EQUIPMENT REQUIRED 💄
Cheesecloth
Double Boiler
Small tins with lids or small squat glass jars with lids, or if you can, chapstick tubes
A metal or other heat resistant funnel
♨️ON DECARBOXOLATION♨️
To properly activate the weed, it needs to be heated to the temperature of about 200°- 250° Fahrenheit, in celcius around 170°-220° if my math isnt off.
Heat the weed for about 30-45 minutes to activate, until the weed goes from a grassy colour to more of a hay colours. this process is known as decarboxolation.
💋LETS GET COOKING!💋
Place water in the lower chamber of your double boiler and bring to heat.
Wrap all herbs, including your grass, in cheese cloth.
Once the boiler is hot, add the water, oils, beeswax, sugar and herbs.
Let simmer for aprox. 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
When its time, take off the heat. press ALL oil and wax out of your herbs, i did this using a small strainer and a spoon.
Place the funnel over the container you're using for your balm, and pour the contents in!
let set for at least 2 hours in a cool, dark location.
🔮Lets get witchy with it!🔮
Use in your glamour spells for a little extra umph.
Set daily intent when putting it on (example: i am alluring, empowered and healing.)
Use it in love spells with consent from your lover!!
Hope you enjoy!! Blessed be!!

Beautifully happy, healthy and sustainable 🌲🌳🤗
Good evening happy, healthy life seekers 🤗
There's no doubt, here at TOFF, our happy place is always outdoors.....we live in military cargo shorts and T's in Spring/Summer and military cargo pants and wool jumpers in Autumn/Winter merrily working and creating outside; turning our organic botanical day dreams into healthy food, animal shelter, flower power and natural products 😊
Budgets & Life Changes 💷🤔
Throughout the last few very turbulent years many of us have undergone huge, transformational life changes; personal relationships, work, homes, families, continents......and many find themselves in a position of 'starting over', a fresh, a new, in order to create a truly wonderful, happy and healthy new future.
With this in mind, budgets have become very constrained and some stress levels may have risen.
To calm our minds, bodies and to help with our financial pockets lifestyle changes can be made on a budget, always with health and happiness in mind 🤗
Here at TOFF our ethos is organic and this embodies; reuse, mend, recycle, rejuvenate, repurpose, relive!
Millions discard items considered no longer of use, this is great, we should all practice this..... a minimalist, clean, healthy home, man cave, sheshed, workshop which is organised and free of clutter actually helps those stress levels come tumbling down 🤗🎉🙌
It also presents an opportunity to acquire items for free or only very few pounds....... don't be afraid to barter or ask if the seller could gift them to you / reduce their price......you'd be surprised 🎉
Repurpose, Rejuvenate, Relive ,🤗
TOFF tips :-
Tumblr media
Old timber windows ~ often disused, left in a skip, at the side of the road or advertised on free cycle sites!
These make a great cold frame for growing your lovely organic foods ~ a complimentary mini greenhouse 🎉🥕
Very often soil and timber are also given away for free.
Your only financial outlay maybe a few screws, hinges and organic seeds then hey presto a weekend project will yield a happier you and food too 🥕🌿🎉
Tumblr media
Cardboard egg cartons, toilet paper rolls, kitchen paper rolls ~ ideal for growing seeds 🌿
Fill the rolls with compost and place in the egg carton,
Sow the seeds directly into each roll, water and allow to germinate,
Ideally maintain a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius/ 64 degrees Fahrenheit,
As soon as the seedlings have germinated and are ready to plant out, the rolls can be planted directly into the soil and they will biodegrade, the carton can also be either reused or planted into the soil too 🎉🌿🥕🍒🍓
Go natural ~ make your own 🌴🪥😬
TOFF tips:-
Tumblr media
Toothpaste ~
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
1 tablespoon of baking soda
6 drops of peppermint oil
6 drops of lemon oil
6 drops of teatree oil
Mix well, into a paste and place in a recycled, steralised dry jar with a lid 🙌🪥😬
Deodorant ~
500 ml bicarbonate of soda
500 ml potato flour / cornflour
500ml coconut oil
5-10 drops of your favourite essential oil......our favourite is Jasmine 🌸
Mix all the ingredients together, if the coconut oil is hard, melt it over a waterbath. Place in a recycled steralised jar with a lid, apply using a reusable cloth cotton pad or reusable spatula 🥥 🌸
We love sharing our tips and recipes with you, as always, if you have any top tips or questions we would love to hear from you 🤗 feel free to email us :- [email protected]
Take great care of you, don't be to hard on yourself or others, kindness always happy healthy life seekers 🤗
Much love,
TOFF x

Bamboo, jasmine, taro :-0
bamboo: do you change into a different outfit when you get home?
Generally, yeah. Something about entering my house makes me instantly hate the feeling of wearing pants and bras. I almost always change instantly back into my pajamas whenever I get home. My house pants and tee shirts are essential.
jasmine: do you have a movie or book you loved but will never watch/read again?
I have... no idea. Uh... I remember really liking Fahrenheit 451 when I was forced to read it in high school, but I would not revisit it unless I was in a situation wherein it was required (like a high school class, for example, lmao.) I also really like the first F//ntastic B//asts movie but I'm a trans person and I don't want anything to do with R//wling's bullshit anymore.
taro: if someone called you right now to catch up, what’re the things you’d tell them about?
I think I would mention my new full-time job. Depending on who exactly was calling and how long it's been, I'd tell them my now name and pronouns. If they were someone I was really close to in the past, I'd probably give them a rundown on the various hyperfixations I've cycled through since we last spoke. Otherwise, I don't really think there's anything I'd mention because everything else coming to mind is either irrelevant by now or something that should probably be kept between me and my therapist or my family.

Malabares de Cavite
In 1763, to help resist British Army forces that occupied Manila and Cavite Puerto, the Spanish Army in the Philippines formed the Malabares de Cavite. Organized as an infantry company, they would serve under the Spanish Colonial Government even after the British withdrawal from Manila. For decades to come they would bolster the small regular garrison of Manila and Cavite Puerto.
However, in 1796, the company would be disbanded. To take up its place, larger military formations were created, such as the Luzon Grenadiers Regiment and the Batangas Grenadiers Regiment (Although, given the lack of arms most militia units had at the time, these two formations are most likely grenadiers in name only).

[to bed at] 11 5/..
much bit – bad night – heated in my chelat – obliged to throw it off – did not sleep till five – fine but dullish morning and windy – breakfast over at 11 10/.. then wrote all but the first 6 lines of page 221 till now 12 10/.. the horses have been come about 1/2 hour but no guide – message before 9 this morning to say the horses could not be here till 1 – difficult to get them – we did very well yesterday – but we must have a guide if possible – Reaumur 14 2/3° and Fahrenheit 65° now at 12 1/4 in my bedroom – read over account of valley d’Aténi Dubois iii page 210 et sequentes till 1/4 after 1 when the guide came – several little girthing etc. arrangements – Ann and myself and George and our Cossack and the Georgian guide five horses, and a mounted Cossack besides – 6 of us – off at 1 35/.. – fine day but windy – at the river (Kour) in 10 minutes – broad dry, gravelly (small boulder) bed, and deep rapid stream just at the foot of the hills on its right bank – unsaddled our horses held them in halters and swam them after us – over in 2 or 3 minutes in 2 long tree-like boats but only the ends scooped out of trees – the rest 2 boards on a side and perhaps a tree bottom – two board huts on the other side and people always ready at this ferry – part of culée of one old stone bridge – over at 2 10/.. resaddled and en route in about 10 minutes or 1/4 hour – we immediately turned right along the foot of the hill – evidently not a high road even for these parts – it was soon evident our guide given us by the maïtre /maître/ de police did not know the way – had never been at Aténi – he had to inquire and we went a little out of our way – Ann first – we passed the scierie of the Eristav – Ann then turned up a hill at 4 to look at a little old stone (oblong, 2 gable ends) church – then forwards and alighted at 4 23/.. at the village (sâcles and 2 good little churches and one old oblong 2 gable ended church) d’Aténi and set off to mount the hill to old fort finely placed on little plateau of rock high above – this not the monastery de Sion – remounted – rode thro’ the village and wound round the rock along a narrow path – the part cut out of the rock only about 5 feet wide and of this about 80 to 100 yards was water course and we rode thro’ the water   alighted at the monastery de Sion at 4 50/.. finely situated on on /AL’s repetition/ bold promontory of rock right across the valley leaving room only for the clear, beautiful little stream (the Tana – excellent trout stream) – charming little green bottom of valley orchards and vineyards and gardens – the most picturesque little valley we have yet seen in the Caucasus – 2 green branches turn off a little beyond the monastery – the Tana runs along that to the right (as we look up the stream) and runs about 10 versts farther said our guide   ride thro’ hedges and bushes of jasmin, pomegranate, yellow honeysuckle, sweet gale, privet in flower and particularly picturesque along the banks of the river here and there – beautiful narrow deep winding valley – the church would easily be put into repair tho’ now merely used to house sheep and cattle – Dubois’ account good

this sketch copied from rough book at Koutais   no! from loose paper Sunday 5 July not quite sure about the top part – could not see the dome neither one sketch or other – too close – very little space about the church except from the west where it the court and entrance – had not time did not think to the west front –
the roof flags thick and cut with one lapping edge, like the edge of a tile, and one lapped over another – the river winds beautifully beyond the church in narrow gorge, all the selvage garden and vineyard and green grass – beautifully picturesque   off from St. Sion at 6 40/.. – at the scierie in 1/2 hour – alighted for a minute or 2 – wood cottages and saw mill, only 2 saws in it, and wood house neat for the Eristav himself when he is here – trotted briskly – at the ferry at 7 50/.. – some time in arranging – unsaddled the horses and let them swim by themselves to the other side, and sent someone, or somehow somebody did catch them and prevented their trotting away home – we then over in 2 minutes at 8 3/.. and home at 8 18/..   tea over at 9 55/.. and had Domna till 10 1/4 – very fine day –

Nick and Jasmine: (At the Colonial Tap house for information and a drink)
Nick: (Slight nod) “Wellingham.”
Wellingham: “Nicholas, have you finally reconsidered my offer?”
Jasmine: (Eyes widen as she turns towards Nick curiously)
Nick: I’m still mulling it over, seems Valentine and Wellingham might be a little tight to fit on the signs.”
Wellingham: “Oh I needn’t be on the signs, but think of it. Two mechanical sleuths storming the Commonwealth! And I’ve been told that I look quite dapper in hats.”
Nick: “Really giving me the hard sell here Wellingham. But as it stands, the position has already been filled.” (Winks at his daughter and ruffles her hair) “Now how about that drink?”
Wellingham: (British disappointment noises while he fetches the order)
Jasmine: (Holds onto Nicks hand and glows brightly) “Plus, I’m already on the signs.”
Nick: “What do you- oh…” (Smiles warmly at the teen girl) “I suppose you are, huh?”
[Later]
Hancock: (Standing on the balcony of the Tap House) “Now that’s a view a guy could get used to. So what’s a guy gotta do to get a seat in a place like this?”
Wellingham: “Oh my, a ghoul. You’re even more hideous than I imagined.”
Jasmine: (Growls and narrows her eyes)
Hancock: (Crossing his arms) “Watch yourself scrap heap, we’re just here for some grub and we’ve got caps.”
Wellingham: “Hmmm… Perhaps we can come to some understanding. Place your caps on the floor and I can collect them later.”
Hancock: “On the floor…?” (Looks away and balls his fists) “You know what, I’ve lost my appetite.”
Jasmine: (Whips out her knife) “BITCH YOU WANNA SAY THAT AGAIN?!?”
Hancock: (Grabs her jacket to hold her back) “As much fun it would be to let this fireball of fury onto ya, I gotta think of the bill. Just remember that this handsome ghoul warranted your eyestalks.”
Jasmine: (As she’s being pulled down the stairs) “LEMME AT HIM I’LL FUCKING PAY THE BILL LATER IF I HAVE TO!!”
Hancock: (Dragging her besides him) “Truth be told, I’m just not pinning for another daunting lecture with Dad.”
Jasmine: (Huffs in anger, still in attack feral kitten mode)
Hancock: (Puts an arm around her with a grin) “Don’t let the sun go down on this day, baby sister. I’ll buy ya a nice bowl of noodles and have Fahrenheit pay the Tap House a special visit later, okay?”
Jasmine: (Teenage grumbling but she complies)
(Almost had it there Hancock, but you had to add that last part)
