yes i am against the 'raised by wolves' headcanon bc thats all it is. a headcanon. he was actually raised by the legion, only spending a couple months with lupa like the rest, just a lot younger.
and thats why i think baby jason adopted some wolfish traits, bc when youre a kid you soak up traits like a sponge.
now he lost most of them. like the eating raw meat. and growling at ppl. but i think some of them. the less used ones (so no one knew to correct them) stayed.
i think that jason never showed his teeth when he smiled bc thats a sign of agression. and the opposite too. suddenly hes in a fight, piper and leo at his side. maybe one of them gets hurt. and he just. bares his teeth. all his muscles tense. and he lowers slightly, preparing to fuckijg obliterate whoever dared. he doesnt go feral though. hes to trained. his moves are calculated. the moster goes down easily.
(piper and leo are incredibly turned on but thats besides the point)
i also think he likes dog piles and biting things. but those are just silly.

lol Jason recovering his memories piece by piece and telling Leo and Piper that he was (is?) praetor and they're like the fuck is a praetor and he explains it and all they can think is him bodyslamming campers during capture the flag and shaking his whole body off when it rains like a dog and constantly biting enemies and being a feral menace and they're trying so hard to put together wolf boy Jason who is actively staring down a nearby chicken with his lower jaw shaking lightly and this new image of pristine golden boy Jason who was apparently voted to be in charge of an entire army and act a major magistrate within their government, and not just the guy they sicced on a Titan like some kind of overpowered hunting dog

funniest answer for "what happened during Jason's fight with Krios" is, rather than Jason having a physical one-on-one unarmed fight with Krios, Jason just tears Krios a new one re: legislation by chewing him out for unauthorized activity in a state park. Because one of Jupiter's big aspects is law!
Jason sends the entirety of the Titan Army forces in California marching out of Mt. Tam State Park with their tails between their legs with one strongly worded argument and some threats to inform San Francisco Fish & Wildlife. And he gets made praetor for it.

Percy: I will say, glad Camp Half-blood doesn't have a Lupa. Cos 12 year old me, yeah I'd have been fucked.
Frank: She's something alright.
Hazel: Got that right. I swear mine felt like it took forever but it was only a few days.
Frank: Same here.
Percy: One of the longest weeks of my life.
Jason: What are you guys talking about?
Frank: Just our tests with Lupa. Say, what was yours like?
Percy: Oh, oh this I gotta hear.
Jason: Test?
Hazel: Yeah, you know the test Lupa gives every Roman demigod.
Jason: Which one?
Frank: Er, the one where she tests our skills and worth.
Jason: No I get that but which one of the tests do you mean?
Percy: The test, the one test we did.
Jason: Oh, you guys just had one?
Percy:... What did you do?
Jason: My mum gave me to her when I was a toddler and so she raised me. Chuckles It was pretty much tests from day one.
Frank:... You were a toddler and you did, the same tests we did, heck you did more so... As a toddler
Jason: I mean when you put it like that it sounds bad.
Hazel: It is! That is so fucked!
Percy: Jase... I found that hard, now... How, how did you do that?
Jason: Shrugs I mean, kinda had too if I didn't pass she would've killed me soo... You know.
Percy:.. Okay so I'm adding slay a wolf goddess to my list.
Hazel: And mine.
Frank: Same here... What the pluto man...
Jason: I mean we all did it.
Hazel: Not like that! That is so wrong on so many different levels.
Nico: Why's everyone yelling?
Reyna: Yeah we can hear you from across camp.
Percy: Jason was just telling us he did his tests with Lupa from 2 years old.
Reyna:... What...?!
Frank: And if he failed, she'd have killed him.
Nico:...I'm gonna get the Greek Fire.
Reyna: Wait for me.
Jason: Don't you guys think you're overacting.
All: NO!
Reyna: You say that again and I'm telling your sisters.
Thalia: Telling us what?
Annabeth: Yeah, what's going on?

Lupa meeting Jason for the first time, Seeing this small human pup and being reminded of her own human children, Romulus and Remus.
The child trembles, not from fear but from the cold. The image of two babies shivering from the assaulting winds of the wild, clinging on each other, comes flashing through her mind. They. He needs shelter.
The she-wolf is suddenly flooded with necessity of keeping this pup.
She trains him the hardest. She knows he is destined for something enormous, she can feel it. Just like with her other two. But Jason is young, too young. He needs more time under the fire to be molded into a proper child of Rome, someone worthy to call themselves the son of the Kings of the gods.
In the night, she allows him to lay by her side. She tells him stories, about the greatest heroes of Rome, about her children, how her Romulus founded Rome and became its first King, and how her Remus died by his brother’s hand. She doesn’t know if Jason truly understands the weight of the words as she talks about the demise of her child, but the toddler looks at her with a contemplative expression on his round rosy face and after a moment he wraps his small arms around her neck. The act takes the wolf by surprise and when she gains her composure, she bitterly orders him to go to sleep.
Despite the harshness in her tone, she lets him embrace her as he sleeps, covering him with her warm fur and nuzzling his hair.
Other demigods pups come and go but Jason stays. Until Juno comes for her champion.
To put it in mortal terms, it can be said that what came after the arrival of the Queen, is the godly equivalent of a custody battle.
Jason needs to learn how to be the leader of men, Lupa knows this. She also knows that there’s so much that Jason can learn at her side.
But in the end, he is Juno’s. Nothing can’t beat the title of Juno’s champion.
The Queen is eyeing them thoughtfully with an aura of superiority and the she-wolf stand solemn, but the child starts nuzzling her side and she can’t help but reciprocate the affection.
Juno comes and gently picks up Jason and strokes his hair.
As they take their leave from the Wolf House, Lupa watches as the child rest his head on the Queen’s shoulder.
She can’t help to remember the moment when that mortal shepherd took her two children away.
Jason waves goodbye to her as he is taken away. Lupa can’t look back anymore.

the big 3 curse is for all big three kids. it's that theyre haunted, but of course they are, but not only by their pasts, but people they think they let down, or failed all together.
Hazel isn't haunted by much, but it's mainly Sammy, and her mother too. Nico is haunted by Bianca, which he wouldn't mind, but he does because it's not really them. It's more a deformed, nightmare-ish version. and Octavian. Bianca, even if she's dead, she's haunted by 'nico'. she thinks she let him down since she wasn't ever really there for him.
Percy is haunted by a bit, but to name a few, Beckendorf, Luke, Bianca, Jason, and Sally. Just to name a few. But why sally? He thinks he isn't the best son ever, because he isn't really there, and he feels awful. He wasn't able to help his mom out much before he went to camp Half blood.
For Thalia, it's alot. Zoë, Bianca, Phoebe, All the hunters she lost on her command. And Jason. 'Jason' messes with her head the most. Same as Jason, even if he's dead, he is haunted by alot. Reyna, Nico, The seven, thalia, lester/Apollo, hell- even lupa! He feels like he failed from dying so soon, and not serving longer.

I think HoO biggest crime was not giving us biblically accurate Jason.
Your telling me he was sacrificed by his mother at the age of 2, before spending at least 5 years with Lupa.
(Yea I know his tattoo technically said he’d been in service to the Roman legion for 12 years, but that would imply he was 3 when he made the journey and no offence to Rick but that is bs)
Then he was a child solider for 8ish years, fought a titan at 14, before having every single one of his memories stripped from him and Rick wants to try convince us that he’s some well adjusted, socially aware teen?
Nah. I want a feral 15 year old with glowing eyes and unnaturally sharp teeth.
I want him to grow out his hair because when he arrived at camp Jupiter it was so matted they had to cut most of it off.
I want him to fight Percy and lose, not because of a power difference but because Percy’s had way more battle experience than him.
I want his eyes to glow with electricity, I want him to growl at people he hates, I want him to be unable to have a normal conversation because he never learnt how as a kid, I want him to have an actual relationship with Lupa, she was practically his mother for a significant portion of his life.
I want biblically accurate Jason, who exits as his own character and not just as Percy’s foil or Nico’s friend.

Jason hitting the ground, he coughs up blood and he knows somethings broken.
Lupa stands over him, unimpressed. "Again."
He gets up on wobbly knees, hisses in pain and bites his lip to silence himself.
"I could've killed you while you were taking your time. In the real battle your enemy won't wait for you." Says Lupa with a sigh, looking over his sorry state.
"Clean yourself up, tend to your wounds. We will end here, seeing as your too weak to continue."
Jason hangs his head in shame, he thanks her and starts bandaging his wounds with the supplies she throws to him.
He hears what she says as she leaves. "Jupiter's son you may be, but as you are right now you're nothing but an embarrassment to him and me."

My Son
"Lupa!" She remembers the first time she heard it, during one of his energetic babbles, as if it were yesterday and for an immortal goddess that was an achievement. He had reached for her muzzle with his soft grubby hands, then unaware of the violence she inflicted, and gently placed his hands rubbing back and for, giggling babbling on.
"Lupa!" She remembers him running towards her, with his arms outstretched, and wrapping them around her neck, into an embrace. His smile lighting up his face as he grinned. Behind him was the boy, Apollon's descendant, who was there just a month ago and Camp Jupiter's new augur with a scrowl on his face. He chattered something onto her, something she just can't quite remember.
"Lupa!" He had come sprinting up to her with a girl in hand, eyes twinkling. He introduced her as if he hadn't realized that she and her sister were in her training not just two months ago, eyes never once leaving the girl. The girl bowed to her, paying her respects and informing her she was, as she suspected, a child of Bellona. She can't remember him ever looking at some like that, with such faith and certainty ever again.
"Lupa?" He looked at her in confusion and puzzlement. In his hands were the hands of another girl she had never met. The girl looked at her warily, observing her with hesitancy. She knew why Juno removed his memories but to pair him with some who would hurt him. She didn't want to admit that it hurt that he didn't remember her. She raised him and many others to be strong, so she must lead by example.
"Lupa" She hadn't raised him for tears but she couldn't help but let him cry on her neck, burying his face into her fur. His sobs of how she left him, inquires of what he had done wrong, how everyone looked at him as though he had been the one to ended it. She knew but held her tongue, simply licking his face the same way she did when he was young.
She wished she heard him say her name again, the soft or happy or curious or even tearful sound of his voice once again. It had been years since he had long gone just as it had been her other sons. She would accompany their hymns of him with howl as they rejoice the boy bound to serve the gods. The girl he had first bought to her, the one who he couldn't take his eyes off, would join her from time to time, for she too had traded her heart for immortality. Just like today when she came and said his name, a name that no matter how they mention it in their songs, would never know him. Jason Grace, son of Jupiter and all of the forgetton gods he honored, one of my sons.
My Son.

For The Children That’ll Never Grow (Hope Should Have Left Humanity)
part 1: When The Wolves Come (Family-- Before)
My name is Jason Grace , he reminds himself, and I have been encumbered with an empyrean intention.
This is what Lupa always told him. What the Praetor has always told him. What they all have always told him, and…
He is Jason Grace, son of Jupiter, son of Rome. But he is also Jason Grace, child-killer, monster-killer… And he is Jason Grace, self-killer.
Jason Grace is born with glowing gold hair and piercing electric eyes. He is the right size for a newborn, but not the right weight: people holding the child think that he might just float away.
He is, after all, heavenly; half god.
He grows up in a matchbox house with a mother who drinks all day and a sister who parents him while still learning her letters: from a young age, he understands life is tragic– his story will only ever be tragic.
His mother is nice one day, and his sister is suspicious, but he is so, so very young– he knows maybe 40 words now. Thalia, who has consumed parenting books despite struggling with words, knows he is a little behind, but that is to be expected. He isn’t quite fed enough– his mother does not like chubby children.
So they go to the Wolf House and Jason feels at home, the way he only does in his sister’s arms, but Thalia feels oh so cold. They are, after all, only half siblings.
When his mother leaves, Jason cries and cries, wandering into the brambles, thorns cutting his skin. To all the world who knew him, he is now a ghost.
When Mother Wolf finds him, he is hungry and out of tears. When he leaves Mother Wolf, he is five, and more wolf than human or god. He doesn’t quite have all the words he should, or the hand dexterity, but he can hold a sword, lift a shield, and hunt his own food.
When he makes his way to camp, Mother Lupa by his side, they do not know what to do with him. He is five, and speaks still only 40 words. He cannot hold small things, and does not understand human touch. Alexander, then Centurian of the Fifth Cohort, says We will take him . The other cohorts want a son of Jupiter– but not this one. He is too young, too weak, too wild.
We will take him . Alexander is kind. He tells Jason stories, and gets Jason hot chocolates. He takes Jason to his sister, a speech pathologist, where he learns to make sounds.
As he grows, more cohorts want him. He is stronger now, older, less wild. Outside of Alexander’s arms, Jason is meant to be perfect. It’s stifling. So when another boy his age joins the Legion, he rejoices. Octavian, they call him. Legacy, they call him. Powerful, they call him.
He is still only eight years old.
Jason Grace’s life, after all, was never anything but a tragedy. Still he grows– how terrible is that?
