Jedi June 2023
Tumblr media
A creative fandom event dedicated to appreciating the Jedi, taking place during the entire month of June! Each week will feature two prompts, around which people can create fanwork (of any kind – fic, art, cosplay, edits, anything you can think of) or meta focusing on the Jedi and the Jedi Order. All eras and continuities are welcome; OCs, established characters, doesn’t matter – it just needs to be about appreciating the Jedi!
Rules:
If you are participating, please tag your work/meta with #jedi june and/or @ this blog so that I will see it and reblog it here. All work must be your own. Feel free to crosspost it off-site.
This is an appreciation event, focusing on what we love and enjoy about the Jedi – not what we don’t. This is not the place to air your grievances with the Code, take potshots at the Council, prop certain Jedi/certain eras of Jedi up at the expense of others, or disparage the Jedi Order or their philosophy (including the concept of non-attachment) and way of life in any way. You are free to do that on your own time if that’s your thing, but it has no place within this event.
AUs and crossovers are allowed, with caveats: again, the purpose of this event is to appreciate the Jedi as Jedi, so sticking your favorite Jedi characters in something like a modern AU or making them all Sith or Mandalorian is not really within the spirit of this event. However, AUs such as making a non-Jedi character a Jedi, having a character survive their canon death, giving a character a different teacher or padawan, or killing Palpatine off-screen in an unspecified yet embarrassing and painful manner, would all be perfectly fine. Use your best judgement to determine whether an AU fits the spirit of the event or not.
Ships are allowed as long as they’re not between a child and adult, and following the above rules.
Following the prompts is encouraged, but not required. Any sort of pro-Jedi content is encouraged all year month long, and if tagged (and following the rules), will be reblogged. Note that there is a change in the event this year - previously, prompts were associated with Saturday and Sunday of each week. Going forward, the prompts will be associated with the week in general, rather than the weekend specifically. As a result, we have a total of 10 prompts this year, instead of 8!
As another change, we have an AO3 collection this year!
Prompts:
Week 1 (June 1 - 4):
Prompt 1: Guidance
Prompt 2: Knighting
Week 2 (June 5 - 11):
Prompt 1: Diplomacy
Prompt 2: The Force
Week 3 (June 12 - 18):
Prompt 1: Visions
Prompt 2: Confronting Fear
Week 4 (June 19 - 25):
Prompt 1: Focus
Prompt 2: Gathering
Week 5 (June 26 - 30):
Prompt 1: Friendship
Prompt 2: Tragedy Averted

"Looking for a dealer."
"And you came to me? I'm insulted."
"You know I don't think they're here, I know you run a clean establishment. But..."
"But?"
"I also know you hear things. All I'm looking for is a whisper."

Perks of Being Family
Summary:
When Anakin was told that the Jedi were one big family, he had not realized how utterly true that is. It became very evident, very quickly though. But never more so than when he and Aayla accidentally start a Temple wide prank war.
Tumblr media
Sneak Peak:
He blinked multiple times before asking, “What?”
“Nevermind specifics!” she said with a wave of her hand. “Whats important is that it means were close family. It also means that there would be nothing wrong with such close family, say, playing a few pranks on each other."
Anakin’s eyes went wide and he gasped. “You want to prank them!?”
“Why not! Master Quin is fun! And Obi needs to laugh more! He only laughs when he thinks I’m not there. Or when they’re watching those dumb plotless holoshows."
A slow grin spread over his face and he nodded. “Okay. Okay, I think pranks could be fun.”
“Yeah?” she questioned eagerly and he nodded.
“Yeah! What did you have in mind first?"

Jedi June: Community + Jedi Temple
I wasn't sure what to exactly do for this one because there's just so much I could. So for this one I decided to share some parts from my fic The Clone Wars Gets A New Victim with my Jedi OC Grim Kennet seeing the Jedi as her family and the Temple as her home.
Tag List (let me know if you want to be added or removed) : @padme--amygdala @soclonely @mildly-microbial @mrfandomwars @jgvfhl @thezegendofzelda @milfspectre1 @togrutanduin @jedi-valjean @one-real-imonkey @traygaming @sapphicwidows @keoxus  @fennec-shandalorian @fate-and-destiny @veradragonjedi @jedimasterbailey + @jedijune
“Grim, are you alright?” Obi-Wan asked her, snapping the padawan out of her thoughts. Grim had begun to cry a little without realizing, a tear falling down her cheek.
“I don’t belong,” she told him. “I don’t belong in this universe, I’m not meant to be a Jedi, I don’t belong here-”
“Listen to me little one, you do belong here,” Obi-Wan told Grim, putting a gentle hand on her shoulder. “Just because you are new to this universe, just because you aren’t from here, doesn’t mean you don’t belong. You belong here, Grim.”
“But, I don’t belong here, I’m from another universe, I was never supposed to be here,” Grim insisted.
“You may not be from here, but that doesn’t mean you don’t belong here,” Obi-Wan told her. “You belong.”
-Chapter 2: A Lesson In Belonging
She turned and faced the Father, staring up at him. "I'm not giving up. I know I can save the Jedi. I can change things. You will not tempt me. I am staying here, I have found a new family and a new home. I belong among the Jedi, they have taken me in as their own. I will not abandon them."
"Yet you would abandon the ones who raised you?" Father asked her. "They will never remember their daughter, you will be forgotten. Are you certain of such an irreversible choice?"
"I am," replied Grim. "I would rather them forget, then to return knowing I have abandoned another family to their deaths. My parents will be safe, I am willing to let them go. They shall always be a part of me, my home will always be there, but as I said I have a new home, a new family. I can not give up on them."
-Chapter 13: Truth And Discovery
Grim meditated to clear her head of her worries. Reciting the Jedi Code's mantra under her breath. It helped her feel like a Jedi and not a stranger. She knew she belonged here, as a Jedi Padawan. Over her stay in this universe she had come to see the Temple as her home and the Jedi as her family.
-Chapter 14: A Secret Kept and a Secret Told
Grim reached out into the Force and felt the light that surrounded her. The warmth of her family.
Yes, she belonged here.
Those doubts had long since been erased. The Jedi Temple was her home and the Jedi Order was her family. Although she knew of what was to become of them in the future she did not focus on that fear, centering on the present. Allowing herself to feel every member of her vast family, to feel their compassion and as she did so a smile creeped upon her lips.
This was her home. This was her family.
-Chapter 35: Checkmate
For the slightest moment Grim considered that she could stop Anakin’s turn to Vader right here and now. She could shove him off this roof and he would fall to the ground dead.
Though she knew it would do no good. Even without Vader, Sidious would still claim victory tomorrow - and besides even now, knowing what he would do once the sun set for the final time on the home of compassion and light tomorrow. She saw him as her brother.
How could Grim kill her brother? Though she knew tomorrow she and Obi-Wan would still be faced with that question, now only delayed the ending.
The ending that was destined for tragedy.
The silence became unbearable as Grim sunk further into thoughts of what the next day would bring. She had to say something to announce her presence to the brother she already lost.
-Chapter 35: Checkmate
As the two Jedi left Courcant - left the Temple - left their home, Grim tried to cling to the light that was left, knowing that when - if - she returned that light would be dead.
-Chapter 36: The Day Before Night
The place where the Jedi lived. Home. The place where they died.
The place that they now had to wish goodbye.
-Chapter 38: The Ashes Of Our Home
Over the years the Jedi Temple had become Grim’s home, and the Jedi had become her family. Now she stood as a survivor among their ruins, and she felt as if it had been her who had died here.
-Chapter 38: The Ashes Of Our Home
She had seen the carnage of the Temple. She had seen the destruction and the ruins of her home.
The ashes of her family - their family.
-Chapter 39: The Deaths Of Heroes
“You were the chosen one!” Obi-Wan cried. “It was said you would destroy the Sith not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!”
Grim turned around to see the gruesome sight before her eyes.
Her heart ached at seeing Anakin in such agony.
“You were a Jedi! You were supposed to help the galaxy not burn it to ashes!” she added, her voice choking up in tears. “I thought we were the same! I thought we both wanted to save people! Killing our family isn’t saving people!” she roared as the tears spilled from her eyes.
She had seen herself reflected in Anakin’s eyes before, but as she looked into them now she only saw the charred remains of a man she once called brother.
“I hate you!” Anakin roared.
“You were my brother Anakin!” Grim and Obi-Wan cried as one. “I loved you!”
“But even now I will not save you,” Grim added quietly.
She found herself walking over to the dying man, kneeling before him. “Once I may have saved you from this fate, I would have thought you undeserving of this pain, but even I see now that the crimes you have committed are unforgivable. You have slaughtered our family and built a palace on our ashes. I once said if presented with the chance to save a life I would take it. I am now presented with that chance, but I shall not take it. You have destroyed us all Lord Vader, I hope you’re happy.”
-Chapter 39: The Deaths Of Heroes
They were quiet on the ride as they silently mourned all of those they had lost.
Their home, their family was destroyed and yet they had survived.
Grim reflected on the homes and families she had lost.
She had been stolen from one, swept away into an alien universe, and she had built another one with the Jedi but they had been ripped from her.
Murdered by her brother.

Since we haven’t started the @jedijune prompts yet, I thought I’d just do a bit of a teaser for what I have planned.
A lot of my Jedi content this month will focus on their relationship with younglings, and there’s not better way to start things off than to remind you all that Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi actually spoils kids a lot and always has.

There’s just so much softness and love and fondness here, and it’s beautiful.
+ Bonus: Yes, he spoiled Anakin too, just a bit <3

Protect That Which You Love
Summary:
Mace Windu took being the Head of the Jedi Order seriously, and a big part of that meant protecting each and every Jedi within it. So when Chancellor Palpatine asks for private access to Anakin Skywalker, he was worried that said protectiveness could cause more issues than he was prepared to handle. He should have known though that the young Padawan was just as fierce, just as protective, as any other Jedi in the Order and would happily come to the defense of his family. Consequences be damned.
Tumblr media
Sneak Peak:
He waited until they had left the Senate building entirely before asking, “Alright. What happened, young one?"
“That man is an absolute Hutt-poodoo sleemo who knows nothing!” he exclaimed, hands flying out to either of his sides.
Mace cleared his throat to once more stop the laughter bubbling up and asked, “Is that so? What gave you that impression?"
“He wouldn’t stop saying all these wrong things about the Jedi!” Anakin more or less shouted. “Went off about mom being here a surprise, called the Order cold. Insisted that they take children! Take them! Like it's a kriffing kidnapping!”
“Language, Anakin.” Shmi and Mace said together, causing the boy to huff.
“Language is to be used in appropriate circumstances, and this is an appropriate circumstance!”
