Morning snuggles with Jimin (the cat not the man obviously 😂).
He is a cuddle monster just like this name sake.
And because he is super cute I can forgive the snoring in my ear.

@cxnscience (Pestering x)
🧶 This did not encourage him to stop if anything it only furthered his curiosity to show Jiminy how tough he was. Cleo would be harder to pester since she found ways to escape the kitten’s wrath with his dad the human protecting her. Not only that but he would be “shamed” by Geppetto. Jiminy brought his umbrella out so Figaro kept papping at it to the kitten He moved so enticingly.

When feeling poorly we all need a chonky butt, long boi Jiminie Kitty to offer cuddles and purrs 🐈⬛
He really is the most loving cat, he has lived up to his name for sure. He just knows when you need that extra bit of comfort, he follows me around like my shadow at the moment.
He's not a fan of me blowing my nose though, the look he gives me 😂

they did a great job of recycling
Dressing the sidekick in the scrappy dirty sweater, lulling you into thinking Oop This Is Just Classic™ Character Design You See In Kids Movies So That Kids Know This Character is Lame! Ugh but to actually explain why hes in it and make it moving?
Giving Puss the I Let Myself Go beard to turn it into a bonding moment with Kitty, moving the plot
Kitty giving over the top threats to Perrito at first meeting but later we truly fully get how deep her trust issues run
Intro of the bears paired with their first lines, not just another lazy way for when writers set up your expectations and then break them for funnies. Through there whole interrogation scene you put together their family dynamic. also makes for some 10/10 rewatchability given their arc
Using the ship in a bottle again for the make shift shank by Goldi
Every line of the Doctors Office scene doing work! No wasted dialogue, each character gave real responses to the others lines and pushed the plot
Puss & Kittys Cute Off wasnt just made to go viral on tiktok or be used for trailer fodder, Perrito had his deserved (see practice session with kitty) moment of usefulness against BJH, the plot moves forward!
Youre the Smash Im the Grab
Jiminy CRICKET !!!! & the phoenix!
Pinochio wasnt just a Shrek easter egg the flashback also established Horners resentment and eventual greed of magic! Which explains not only his wish, but also his magical item collection!
Puss burrying his kit isnt just a bit! when G & the Bears crash in and find it!! The ! Plot ! Moves ! Forward !
Perrito bringing Puss the stick sword isnt just 'heres the side kick character being useless' that stick brings them back into conflict with Horner! (TPMF!) Also he like actually used it during the heist
This movie was just so efficient, they didnt have to ad hoc anything

I have thoughts about the Watch with Jimin livestream...
How do i love thee? Let me count the ways...
I did in fact do some counting. I counted Jimin's blink rate during the almost two minutes he watched JK recording the back-up vocals for Letter to Army. And yes, it was a labour of love, especially since I don't enjoy numbers... they're tricksy squirmy little gremlins that do sneaky things like divide themslves in two, or become imaginary.
But for the sake of science and Jikookery, I counted how many times - and when - Jimin blinked during this sequence.
Overall, nothing unusual to report. The average number of times a person blinks in a minute is approximately 15. In the 1m55s of video I captured, Jimin blinked 33 times. Unremarkable.
Except...
The pattern of how much he blinked changed markedly depending on who was on screen.
When Jmin was watching himself, he blinked far more than when he was watching JK. Frequent blinking can be a sign of stress, and there were a number of other clues too, that Jimin wasn't all that comfortable watching himself: giggling, hiding his face, selfconsciously flicking his hair, playing with his hands etc etc.
When JK was on screen Jimin sat still, his gaze fixed on JK. Often his mouth fell open just a little, his lips parted as though he was entranced. In fact, during the first 20 seconds of the footage when he's leaning forward staring intently at JK, he only blinks 4 times.
And that's a clue to another factor at play here...
There's a phenomenon in the psychology of attraction called a COPULATORY GAZE. When someone stares intently at a person they find attractive, that's what it's called.
It's a COPULATORY GAZE.
So it's not just a minor fascination he has going on, or a bit of focused admiration.
Translated to the coloquial, I guess you could call it EYE FUCKING.
Yes, eye fucking is a scientific phenomenon.
But wait, there's more...
Towards the end of this segment of Watch With Jimin, when JK is done recording and he and Jimin are on screen together, something happens to our dear Jiminie on the livestream.
It involves a bit of eye fucking and lip licking (licking, tongue movement, swallowing, all necessary to deal with the saliva that accumulates in your mouth when you're aroused.) Yes, it seems our boy has a visceral response watching the doco, particularly when JK plays around with him on screen.
JK says he's going to feature in Jimin's concert, and he then moves towards Jimin and says (you can't make this stuff up istg) "I will do this behind you." Right, he's just talking about singing the back up vocals.
Jimin is absolutely transfixed though. He swallows with some difficulty. His chest is visibly rising and falling. He's breathing hard and I'm sure that's not all.
Now realistically we've seen them flirt and tease each other so many times that what they're doing in that studio isn't even worth mentioning. And we know Jimin pushes JK's buttons on screen far more than this, apparently just for fun. So why is this little te-ta-te getting Jimin all hot and bothered (because there's no question, that is what's happening).
There's only one thing i can think of.
It's because he's watching it on screen.
I cannot think of ANY other reason that this lukewarm bit of playfulness would make him literally breathless.
And ya know, because i'm a dirty boy with a wild imagination, this leads me to think of all those times they've flirted onscreen...
Does Jimin go home and watch Bangtan TV clips and get all shook up?
Is he bookmarking all the YT complilations of him and JK doing questionable things, and using them for his own nefarious purposes?
I don't even want to think about the footage that gets deleted, the stuff that's too risque to put in a Bangtan Bomb. I picture Jimin scooping it up off the cutting room floor and stuffing down his shirt to smuggle home.
And what about all the on-stage shenanigans at concerts? Kitty Gang Jimin comes to mind immediately.
Does he search for fancams - from LY Hong Kong maybe - and use them to cam his fan in the privacy of his bedroom?
Ok, I've reached that invisble line.... I'm going to stop RIGHT HERE.
You can decide for yourselves whether our mochi has a lil bit of an exhibitionist streak - whether the thought of doing questionable things in public with his buff boytoy revs his engine.
I'll leave you with this nugget of barely suppressed lust, and I'm not just talking about the goings-on on stage. The whole vibe of this concert is feral. I am forever sorry to have missed this one...
(The two women in the bottom right corner are amost as entertaining as the boys imo... pretty sure one of them drops their army bomb haha...)

I watched Puss in Boots 2 with my partner yesterday and it was actually amazing??? Just brain dumping my quick thoughts; potential spoilers under the cut.
Trigger warning: mentions of animal abuse.
Animation was super pretty!
I was genuinely kind of scared of the death wolf. They really made him feel like a threatening force of nature. That would have been nightmare fuel for me as a child.
It was refreshing to see the main villain Jack Horner just be kind of a shitty guy - not every villain has to be a woobie you can sympathize with. Little Jack Horner in the nursery rhyme, interestingly enough, was also considered a symbol of greed and opportunism by 18 century moralists and there was totally Jack Horner discourse (tm) back then which I thought was pretty hilarious.
Goldilocks and the three bears: I thought this was mostly going to be played for laughs (like “who would of thought goldilocks was a badass har har”), but they ended up having a pretty heart-warming found family subplot
It was interesting to see a lot of Pinocchio being weaved into the story given how much Pinocchio related media has come out in the past year: the whole “wishing upon a star” plot device, Jack being jealous of Pinocchio’s magic as part of his backstory, and then the judgey insect being an obvious Jiminy Cricket parody.
I haven’t watched the first Puss in Boots so maybe this was explored before, but it was interesting to see the dissection of his character and learn more about his interior life, like his fear of commitment, learning to become more emotionally vulnerable, and how his legend persona is wielded as a mask. We also get to see how this affects people he cares about, like Kitty Softpaws whose trust he betrays.
Perrito’s backstory: it was so heartbreaking to listen to him mask the trauma of basically being drowned by his previous owners. The way that they reflect his backstory in his map of the dark forest (essentially, the path to the wishing star changes based on your inner psyche/trauma): while his map seems the “easiest” to navigate, the “pocket full of posies” area of Perrito’s path contains what appears to be very beautiful but dangerous flowers (symbolizing the pain and trauma underneath his happy-go-lucky exterior).
The pocket full of posies area also serves as kind of a metaphor for processing trauma: Puss and Kitty try to hack and slash their way through, which just causes the flowers to attack and regrow, reflecting how they want to tamp down the feelings that make them more vulnerable. Perrito chooses to smell the flowers, which allows them to more safely navigate the area, reflecting how Perrito chooses to continue to trust in others even after being betrayed by his previous family.
Seriously though, it was actually really good, definitely recommend watching it.

Things I Appreciated about Puss in Boots: The Last Wish bc I need to rant just a tiny bit
Below the cut is one (1) spoiler. Everything else is spoiler-free (other than the gifs themselves I guess).
The different styles of animation. I will never tire of the choppy, comic-book look that I see people generally refer to as the "Spiderverse" style. It has an almost anime-feel that is just so much more visually interesting.
On the same note, the absolutely S T U N N I N G visuals. I'm sad I won't be in the theaters every time I watch it in the future.
The fight choreography. Again, something about it feels very akin to anime. It's over-the-topin dramatic in such a lovely way.
Having an enjoyable "sidekick". I feel like I'm usually annoyed by the side character that's supposed to be the tag-along comic relief (Olaf, for example). I will admit that although I had to resist a groan when Perrito was first introduced, I genuinely loved him by the end. I don't even like chihuahuas but I would die for this dog.
The slightly aged-up humor. They knew their audience. It caught me off guard a couple times but never was too much.
The Spanish!!!! So much of it!!! Unapologetically!!! (I also felt very accomplished in that I could understand most of it, even if it was mostly Spanish 1 Spanish lol)
The tiny/subtle moments of mental health awareness. Don't even get me started on That One Scene in the middle of the film. You know what I'm talking about.
A badass villain. An antagonist who doesn't need a background or sob story to be enjoyable (that being said, I still LOVE Jack Horner and the story we get with him).
A whole slew of fun and interesting secondary antagonists and supporting characters! I was not prepared for criminal Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I certainly was not prepared to love the Jiminy Cricket character as much as I did.
The resolution. The fact that the final battle ended in a sort of "draw"(?) Obviously you want PIB to win, but it also wouldn't make much sense for him to defeat Death. I feel like this was the best possible ending.
The references. I love that you can watch this movie without having watched the original PIB movie or even any of the Shrek franchise. But then there are so many little moments that reference back to those films, it's like a little extra treat if you notice them.
Kitty Softpaws.
