Rewatching jjk has really made me realize just how down bad Megumi is for Yuuji.
He instantly wants to save Yuuji despite being renowned as a person who doesn't want to save everyone, he continuously mourns Yuuji when he thinks he's dead and has beef with anyone who calls him a curse, he's very overprotective of Yuuji once he does know he's alive while praising his strength and growth at the same time, and he acknowledges that Yuuji is his main motivation to grow stronger.

daniel day lewis really does have the perfect voice for There Will Be Blood like it is gruff and a little genteel and there’s showmanship to the way he speaks, which i think is a nice cadence to lend to a character that is willing to sell anything to get ahead and win. he’s selling a persona of a family man you can rely on to drill your land.

The first time I watched the tgcf donghua I was like “wow Xie Lian is so cool and coy and flirty with Hua Cheng” then reading the books after only to discover he’s a down bad simp from the moment he lays eyes on him and constantly waxes poetic about how handsome and cool and smart and kind Hua Cheng is

if daniel plainview and eli sunday had been any more gay or any less self centered they might have realized that combining the church and the oil business would have brought in far greater profits than either alone and more power to both of them. but nope their unfettered desires to be the one who wins kills that possibility almost immeditely. Could have had it all rolling in the deep but instead your rugged individualism produced the seed of your own downfall. sad!
