“What?” Buck glances at his phone, as if he could see Eddie’s face. Then he looks back at the road. He crossed the state lines around an hour ago, he’s been driving the whole night, aside from that quick nap when he was getting gas, but how does Eddie know? “How-”

“We’re sharing each other’s location, remember?” Eddie sighs. Right. Eddie insisted on that a while ago. Buck had no problem with that, obviously. It’s Eddie. And it’s just in case of an emergency. “What are you doing, Buck?” he asks, concern and confusion audible in his voice.

“I don’t know, Eddie, honestly.” Buck chuckles quietly, bitterly. “I- I didn’t wanna go home. I just felt like going for a drive, and before I knew it, I was on I-10, so I just- kept driving.” he shrugs, as if Eddie could see him. “Why are you checking my location so early in the morning, anyway? Or at all?” he adds, because he’d only check Eddie’s if he couldn’t get ahold of him for long enough to warrant worrying, not in the morning when he could easily just be asleep. Then again, maybe Eddie sees how off Buck’s been lately.

“Uh-” Eddie takes a beat, swallows audibly. “I do that sometimes.” he admits, voice quiet.

“Do what?” Buck’s hands grip the steering wheel a bit harder, eyes on the road. Fortunately there’s not a lot of traffic at this hour, in between cities. 

“Ever since-” he takes a shaky breath. “Ever since you- you died, I check sometimes, just to make sure you’re there, that you’re- you’re alive. To ease my mind without overwhelming you and smothering you with my pointless worrying.” he chuckles quietly. “And, I don’t know, today I woke up and had this nagging feeling to check, to make sure you’re safely at home, and- and here you are, two states over.” he says in that tone that makes Buck clearly imagine him shaking his head with exasperation and fondness. “Buck, if you wanted a road trip, you should’ve just said so. We’d have taken Chris and gone across the- the world if you wanted to.” he says earnestly, and Buck feels tears in his eyes again. Fuck, what is wrong with him? “You know we’re here for you. I’m here for you.”

“Maybe I don’t want you to be.” Buck whispers, not meaning a word.

Look familiar? Bounty Hunter and magic user turned Deity, Ko'jin. Later dubbed as the "Fierce Deity."

Other outfits are a wip. I was gonna wait until they were done but couldn't resist sharing what I was working on for a week.

Masterpost | Lineup | Ko-fi - More info under the cut! This one’s gonna be a pretty long one and the last half below will have the text on the image (coz tumblr’s probably gonna eat the quality) plus some notes sprinkled in.

Plus a look at the Moon Serpent, a common form Ko'jin takes. I'd like to think the Moon Serpent is more commonly known by his followers than the man himself. There are others he takes, like the Silver Wolf, but the dragon is the one most associated with him.

He's relatively unknown after the war before Skyloft's ascent, his image having been completely removed from history. The few traces of him by OOT/MM would be oral tradition, specifically through family members as bedtime stories and legends to tell. Stories about a curious serpent and a powerful artifact.

After the events of MM, the Moon Serpent becomes active again and the festivals dedicated to it return.

Ko’jin, Bounty hunter chosen by Goddess Farore.

“Ko’jin” is not his real name. Once a mortal becomes a god, they abandon their original name. He was never given a proper one again aside from nicknames by worshippers and other deities. Ko’jin is a nickname given to him by his future wife when they first met.

He wears facepaint which is mixed with magic to bolster strength and speed. And later he would get tattoos that did the same [seen later].

Before becoming a god he was a bounty hunter [and popular at that, often being the favorite of a neighboring town]. He would take commission to hunt down monsters many others refused to go near.

Ko’jin has a strong affinity for magic [he uses it practically every day] and often imbues the edges of his sword with darkness magic. Though, the element given to his sword can still vary depending on what or who he’s fighting.

His undersuit and white tunic are much more protective than the brass chainmail, which instead is used more for artistic liberty than function.

“Early Days Moon Serpent”

Ko’jin’s god form was often a dragon for the ease of guiding lost spirits to the afterlife [he’s a judgement god with a very strong connection to the dead and guiding those spirits became his secondary function].

[During the first war with Demise] Soldiers often saw this form as the “Spirit of Courage” and their protector. They worshipped him and gave him gifts in hopes that he’d watch over him [and guide them to a better afterlife if they were to fall in battle (that secondary function). He basically became a huge symbol for soldiers specifically and I feel like this would feed the “War God” title he was given way later on despite not actually being a War God.]

In many ancient artifacts [ones that could be found at least], the Moon Serpent would be as either a two-headed serpent or two separate beings with their horns crossed. [There’s going to be a lot of “two’s” with him. Two swords, two lives, etc. in depictions of him the two heads/bodies of the serpent would be called “the Body” and “the Spirit”. Later on he’s split into two to be sealed away in a similar theme. “Two lives” refers to the before and after his sealing as he loses his memory of his “past life” and becomes a new person (hence a different appearance). I can see Hylia having foresaw a lot of this tbh.]

The prince of hell doesn’t know anything about fire of brimstone. But he knows that if he scrapes his knee you’ll hold him tight in your arms and wipe away his tears. You’ll let him pick out whatever bandaid he wants, star wars, spiderman, or superman as you clean up the cut before kissing his knee and telling him how brave he was. He knows nothing angles, or of demons. But he knows that when the storms at night get too loud and the scratching at his window begins, he can pad his way down the hall wrapped up in his blanket and slip into your bed, where you’ll open your arms and he’ll curl against your chest, safe from anything he could ever fear. He knows nothing of the dark creatures that watch from afar, that will someday obey his every command, every order. But he knows that you check under his bed and closet every night for monsters because you’re the bravest mommy in the world and nothing could ever scare you. He knows of punishment, but not in the way his blood demands, no screams of torture taken as a testament of sins, only that if he’s naughty he can’t have an extra caprisun before dinner. 

He knows nothing of darkness, of evil, of unholy violence and wicked deeds.  But he knows everything of love, care and protection.

sensory issues and toothpaste container sound interesting lol

Hello!!

For "sensory issues" I only have dialogue at the moment, but this is going to be a little mini comic between Donnie and Splinter (I'm going to say post-movie?), based on an interaction between one of my parents and me:

*Donnie rambling on about something while Splinter listens putting a piece of cake or pie on two plates, one paper, one ceramic. Splinter gives him the paper plate*

*Donnie notices and abruptly stops, looking confused*

Splinter (genuinely confused at why he stop talking): hmm? What's wrong Purple?

Donnie (light hearted, but a little sarcastic): I see you have given you have given yourself the ceramic plate and me the paper one. Is there a reason for this difference?

Splinter: Oh! I remember you telling me how much you hate the scraping sounds of these plates *gestures to plate and then continues to portion out cake not looking at Donnie.* That's why I gave you the paper one, because you've been quite overwhelmed lately.

Donnie (actually shocked that his dad remembered that): *looks down at the plate not sure how to feel.* That's... Actually really thoughtful. *A pause in dialogue as splinter cuts the baked good* *Don still looks at the plate* thank you for that.

*Don begins to eat the cake as his brothers come in, he starts up his conversation again*

End scene

I genuinely hate the sound of cutlery in ceramics and ceramics clanking into each other, so now Donnie does too.

A little warm up sketch that doubles as my reference for a mini comic idea. Also based on several arguments I've been in on how to use a toothpaste container.

Both of these are going to be part of my Random Rise Comics eventually. :)

#ps.txt #i love giving characters things i do #idk if stuttering problem is the right phrasing but i stumble over my words all the time so hard or it takes like 4 tries to get a sentence #out properly sometimes. like my brain goes faster than my words + i have a mumbling problem so i don't pronounce stuff clearly enough and i #*it becomes a jumbled mess. or i miss words entirely or anticipate certain sounds too much and put them in the wrong place #like god i swear CAN speak english. it's just like not 100% understandable w/o repeating myself like half the time <3 #anyways i dumped this issue on victoire b/c <3 he's a shameless self insert but a little to the left #he has my gender + my old hair + my speaking issues + my romance issues + my anxiety. but he's more idk. he's not quite me. he just has #a lot of me in his character. like who i would be if i had no friends at school? and if i wasn't ridiculously afraid of the dark #i could never wander around the catacombs w/ knowledge of what lies inside them (monsters who sometimes eat people or otherwise harm them) #right anyway tagging (for the tags ramble) as: #wip: nnsei #oc: victoire de papillion-mercedes
