Beauty filters.. and my issue with them.

Do not get me wrong, I love filters, Im a consumer on instagram and tiktok but what is my problem with them?

Im not gonna talk about the sunset, tanned filters or the black and white ones or the kind that adds words, dates, time. Im talking about beauty filters.

I remember when I used my first filter on snapchat, the dog filter, the flower crown filter, the big eyes puking rainbow filter and they were all okay, fun to use with friends, feeling like king kylie. Until instagram added stories and with that came filters, they changed my life in a way that was not so body possitive, specially during the pandemic I remember using the craziest deforming face filters, huge lips, tiniest nose, slimmest face ever and when I saw myself on the mirror after I thought I was the fattest cow ever. It harmed me to the point where i couldn´t even talk with guys without feeling ugly, I was just extremedely insecure about my face so obviously for a good amount of time every picture I took had a filter on.

I didn´t realized how damaging beauty filters were until I stopped using them. I was so insecure to look at my face without a blurring filter and now i see how sad it is that is. Everyone has pores, redness, blackheads, dark spots, scars, fine lines, wrinkles, pimples and texture. These are now flaws but something normal and should not be hidden, I still have days where im more insecure and I feel like I need them a little but stopping using them has helped me with my self confidence and self steem.

See, this is fascinating. The photo was taken on an angle so I rotated to see how they actually posed. And my takeaways are: (1) the angle of the photo definitely made it look much more intimate than it was in reality. would love to know if the photographer was briefed to get a certain loved up look (2) timothee's smile never looks forced when he's with Haider so this is a rare exception. that is a strained, thin-lipped smile. (3) i might be reading too much but haider seems to be stepping up to help the photo look cozy and chummy because timmy's efforts arent selling the story. looks like an older friend being a good ally. (4) kylie's hand placement seems a bit off, as though years of makeup artists and stylists touching her chest has blurred her notion of appropriate ways of touching a friend. (5) and this is why the kardashians are still making buttloads of money: look at how natural she appears and look at the oscar nominated actor struggle to appear like he even wants to be there.

So hi!! My name is Valentine, genderwise I am a girl! She/her! Romantic orientation, I lean definitely a lot more towards guys but no harm in experimenting with girls too! I think I romantically have an attraction towards guys but sexually both? Does that make sense? Haha but definitely more guys!

Hmmm who do I like? Of course the papas, specifically Nihil (I have a weird thing for old decrepit dusty peepaw men) but also the human characters? Specifically Father Jim Defroque because we're sleeping on how attractive this priest is?? Ghouls as well because I love mountain 😭 IDK I think I like them all but if I had to pick, the papas.

Oh style! Appearance! Yay this is fun! Okay so I think I'd be the exact opposite of what an average ghost enjoyer looks like. I love pastels and whites and baby pinks. For my style I'm super into the whole lolita style so frills, dresses, bows, lots of bright sweet colours! I'm also into that whole Bimbo vibe? Like dressing in bright pink in really short miniskirts, baby tees and thigh highs. I just find it really funny how if me and whoever I were to be matched with in Ghost stood side by side, we would be polar opposites of black and pink. But general appearnace, I am a 5'3 korean girl with black hair down to my shoulders with white highlights and tan skin (terzo is canonically shorter than me so 💅💅) and I have piercings down my right ear, a lip piercing and eyebrow piercing. I also have a small studio ghibli tattoo on my wrist, a moomin tattoo on the back of my arm and a tattoo of star constellations on my upper thigh (which is funny because I have a big fear of needles).

I think my personality really depends but I like to think of myself as just a general sweet person but that's just me (IDK I FEEL SUPER SELF CENTRED TALKING ABOUT MY PERSONALITY HAHA). I mean, I reckon just in general I really like people so I want to be seen as a sweet person. I'm a girl's girl and I'm an extrovert, I go out of my way to talk to people to see if I can make new friends, if someone wants to talk or a hug or needs anything, I want to be the girl that can be there for that. I care about useless things like plants and bugs and I apologise when I bump into inanimate objects. Despite all that I also think I'm super careless and accident prone. The amount of times I miss a step on the stairs and go tumbling down or I bang into a clear window isn't funny. Going off the whole bimbo thing from earlier, I have been described as a bimbo before so I guess a bit of an airhead, dense, a little dumb and super optimistic.

Hobbies and interests. I love makeup, I like dressing up and going out. Just looking super cute and going out shopping or taking a walk is super appealing to me. In my free time, I play violin and I like painting my nails, usually pastel colours but it's just super fun to do! On other days, I probably watch 1000 hours of tv a day or practice baking. I'm not great at it but I like baking sweets and giving them to my friends. I like cats a lot and anything that just looks cute in general. I love plushies, champagne/cocktails, horror movies and reading when I'm not watching an unhealthy amount of Tv in my living room. Another hobby I have which probably isn't a great one is clothes shopping. I love spending money which isn't great but shopping for a new wardrobe is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Ashtens Empire, who first gained recognition as a Kim Kardashian look-alike, has passed away from complications with surgery. First reported April 22nd, 2023 at 6:13 PM EST by a user in her thread on theperfectboobs.net and confirmed about an hour later in a tweet from Nicolette Shea. She was 28 years old.

Earlier this month she had given a brief interview about her career and plans for the future:

I didn't follow Ashten as closely as I did Kristyna Martelli but as inevitable as it was I had hoped something like this would never happen again. It takes me back to the incident that happened on Twitter, when I was accused of harming women by encouraging bimbofication. Even though that's not true it's a thought that hasn't left my mind since. I don't feel guilty for enjoying the look of plastic surgery, especially when its not something I'm personally pushing or funding but when considering the risks and results its something difficult to not at least be conflicted with. We don't know for sure it was a cosmetic procedure that killed Ashten, really we know very little about her or what happened, I couldn't even find her real full name for this post. And, cynically, I think some people are okay with that. It seems to come with the territory.

Bimbofication is a fetish that's so difficult to grapple because there's almost inherent ties to objectification and submission. And seemingly that leads to a sort of callousness that may be normal but I find difficult to accept. You could argue for a lot of these women this was their life's work, that they died as they lived, in the throes of self-sexualization but the idea of objectifying someone even in and after death makes me feel sick. I can't help but feel it cruel. A young woman is gone, someone's fiance, daughter, friend. But some time later down the line I'm sure I'll see a video or pictures of her used again as fodder for cheap ejaculate as if she were AI generated and not a real living person that meant something to someone. And that depresses me. It seems so meaningless too because, won't my hypocrisy prevail? I've admitted before that the dehumanization that this fetish requires arouses me but its repulsive too. Repulsive and repugnant.

My blog isn't really geared towards to those interested in becoming bimbos but I see a lot of them in my notes because we're all under the same fetish umbrella, and there's probably more of them left on tumblr than artists and writers. To you all, I just want to emphasize, please be safe. You don't need that much to be a bimbo. Chloe Cherry managed it well with mostly just lip fillers and a change in makeup. Of course, I'm sure most of my followers aren't thin blonde white girls, but one think I begrudgingly have to admit Chrissy Chlapecka and the TikTok teens got right is the idea of bimbo personal expression, which I've been meaning to make a post on. Yes, being bimbo is more than just wearing pink and trying to be "y2kcore", but you actually really don't need huge fake tits so big you'll knock someone over! And you don't need to be super duper skinny with the waspiest waist ever. You don't need to be blonde or have pale skin either, please feel free to still be yourself!

All that being said, I hope Ashten is at peace now. Or in a better place. Wherever she may be, I think its important to remember that she was. It always makes me feel a sort of emptiness when I go to a currently active bimbo page and I see them reposting pictures of people who have long since left the bimbo life behind or their identities have been long since forgotten, their pictures having been subsumed into the internet as a whole. I just think we should value individuals over tits.

Yesterday i had to spend several hours sitting opposite a woman who was a makeup artist. We had make casual conversation and she could not stop talking about how awful her 15 year old daughter was. Repeatedly complaining for hours that she acts too grown up and dresses inappropriately etc teenage girl stuff. Valid complaints from a parent but it was so strange that she would tell me all of this.

Finally she commented that her daughter went to school that day in too much make up and looked like a clown. All I could say was "...you're a make-up artist..", hoping that she would understand what I was getting at..she assumed I meant she could help her daughter with her makeup.

That's not what I meant. Children copy their parents. We were at a photoshoot asked to dress nicely but natural. This woman had the kardashian works, contour, eyelashes, everything. How can someone be so blind to their own parenting ? So depressing.

is it just me or does anyone else hate celebrity halloween costumes? they're always so polished and perfect. they just spend their $$$ on a team of stylists and makeup artists to loo exactly like a pop culture person/character. imo the fun of halloween is piecing scrappy costumes together with clothes/accessories you can easily get your hands on. not that i expect them to not spend their millions on a perfect costume but i hate how it's become a spectacle where everyone praises their costumes

they r kinda boring not gonna lie........it's like you have all of these resources and you dont look scary or cool you look like IDK a sexy ghost or whatever and like..........sometimes they serve but even then it's less impressive bc it's like Obviously you'd be able to serve..........im being a hater but i agree there is a level of tackiness and fun to halloween that celeb instagram pics seem to intrinsically lack just by being celeb instagram pics. teehee. like i dont care about a kardashian in a latex cat suit i care about the people wearing fake blood and funny masks trick or treating in the street being stupid. lol
