The designs are finally complete for Axe and Armory’s children. Note they are from an alternate timeline and not the canon timeline however, they are still the official children of the two.

Jax confirmed that there were meant to be five children, but decided to go with three instead. Lance and Blade are the only two named after weaponry while Wendy is named after one of Axes old friends. They were not meant to look identical to each other, but have different mixed features of their dads.

I also been told they were supposed to be featured a while ago , but the idea was scratched due to his lack of motivation, and a little while later, he discovered the three characters and showed them to me, after getting the approval to keep the characters, I decided to give them names since they didn’t have any before.

So all though are not a part of the canon timeline, they will be featured on the blog will be allowed to receive questions. Honestly these three are such sweethearts and I am thankful they were never forgotten about. So we can all say Axe x Armory was meant to be cannon after all.

I am looking forward to reading the novels even more. Not only has a year passed since last ep but we are also learning now (in the anime) that sugar artistry is a male-dominated profession so there are very few (if none other than Anne and her mom) sugar craftswomen in between.

This makes it much more difficult for Anne cuz

1) she’s discriminated by her colleagues because of her sex (and probably her age, too)

2) she earned the approval of some very high authoritative figures in a short amount of time, making everyone very jealous of her and therefore…

3) she has no strong backer to protect her from sabotage (i.e. the harassment she received everywhere she went after the Philax incident and the withholding of information from her about the sugar apple harvest)

Pretty much every disadvantage is set against her.

But she’s also very lucky that true artisans acknowledge her talent and aid her wherever they can. Kat won’t speak for her, he wants her to overcome obstacles on her own without relying on others (a tough love senpai) but he does bring her up to date on the details and takes her to where she needs to go.

While Keith, despite his loathing of the special treatment he gets for being the son of the former viscount, uses some of that influence he has to get her into the workshop and therefore, give her a chance at competing for the medal to become a Silver Sugar Master.

Keith is a sympathetic character, too. His circumstances are different than Anne’s in that his connection to the former viscount barred him from participating in official events. However, that just makes him even more determined to prove that his skills have nothing to do with his father but they’re a product of his own hard work and training.

Him helping Anne did have an ulterior motive behind it but it is a respectable one that allows both to do their best to achieve their goals.

Not to mention, despite his White Prince demeanor that could easily arouse suspicion of any nastiness he might be hiding underneath that smile, Keith seems to actually be a real decent human being unlike Jonas 😒

He respects Anne as a sugar artisan and person as well as her fairy friends. He’s a polite gentleman to her and a fair rival.

Even in the drama cd, he kinda “fought” with Shalle over who should take care of Anne when she became sick with a fever (he did not trust Shalle’s intentions of being alone in the same room with a vulnerable girl 😂).

So yea, I like Keith 😊

The Mariner's Wife is my favorite, I genuinely find it so compelling even (maybe especially) in its unfinished state. However most of my thoughts boil down to FUCK ALDARION ALL MY HOMIES HATE ALDARION. Tbh I think half the reason I love the story so much is the rush of pure rage it gives me.

I do also find him interesting but at the end of the day he's the worst lol. He wore Erendis down, when she was rightly wary, and then he did exactly what she feared he would, wasting her significantly shorter lifespan :(( He was never around!! Too busy off sailing and colonizing!! Even when they had a kid!! After the birth of Ancalimë in her heart Erendis was glad, for she thought: "Surely now Aldarion will desire a son, to be his heir; and he will abide with me long yet." NAME A SADDER LINE!!!

I won't even get too deep into the narrative bias of it all (like…let's NOT blame Erendis for being "bitter" or pit her and Ancalimë against each other, etc) but every time I see a take from the fandom like "Aldarion was a better ruler than his wife would have been" (irrelevant?? and what's your metric there?? HMMM??) or "Aldarion is Eärendil 2.0" (just...no) I want to S C R E A M lol.

Anyway Ancalimë is fascinating too and the one good thing Aldarion did was change the laws to allow his daughter to be the first ruling queen. I stan a lesbian icon who neglects all her father's policies out of spite, it's extremely sexy of her. Side note: Fuck Hallacar.

Re: Isildur I definitely think there is an aspect of longing there like you said, not for the sea but for the "real Númenor," so kind of an inverse Aldarion situation. I have also wondered if the tree which Aldarion is given as a wedding gift is meant to be the White Tree of Númenor aka Nimloth? I haven't seen anything conclusive on that but that is a HUGE connection between him and Isildur if so.

Also! in one of the first interviews of Ema Horvath's that I listened to she mentioned reading The Mariner's Wife to help inform her idea of Eärien as she was preparing to bring an original character to life, and how she related to both Erendis and Ancalimë, which is fascinating. There's definitely an element of women at odds with their families and a certain conception of Númenor as well!
