Definitely felt the symbolism in Luthen, whose extreme competence we’ve witnessed all throughout the show not to mention his martial prowess last episode, spending this episode merely observing as the fires of Rebellion sparked on yet another planet. As the light rose. He went there intending to act, but in the end he quietly admired, still an orchestrator in the shadows, in the literal shadow of his hood, drinking in the words of the eulogy, seeing what he had helped to create whether he realized it or not because of Aldhani and the hope that it gave to Maarva Andor, That desire to fight, to stand up, to TRY as we hear Nemik’s voice say.  Luthen lives in darkness in order to give other people light. 

Luthen wasn’t really there to kill Cassian, not really, though he consciously thought so. He was there to have his faith restored, the faith he hadn’t even realized was faltering, that was tested with his unplanned confession to Lonni Jung and showed signs of breaking when he told Saw that he was no longer sure about sacrificing Anto Kreegyr... to be gifted the light that he so assiduously denies himself every day that he draws breath for the cause. 

And then the last shot that we see of Luthen Rael this season is of him smiling at Cassian. A real smile amidst all of the fake ones that we’ve glimpsed on him and on other people all season long. He asks Cassian on a sigh, “What game is this?” because he is all about games. all of the time. He has to be. But not today. 

“No game. Kill me. Or take me in.” 

Cassian is the sun in his sunless space offering him another possibility. 

And Luthen Rael smiled.

for some reason i feel like maybe you’d like boothill from honkai star rail?? we only have a little bit of info on him currently, but!!! .. he’s a space cowboy who does bounty hunting, and a cyborg (smth happened in his past, and now his head is the only human part left..). he swears to punish the wretched by any & all means!! (he would def protect u, his lone star encountered in the cosmos!! wholeheartedly!!) but for the silly part !! someone tampered with his synesthesia beacon and now, like a filter, any swearing gets turned into sweet, cutesy words (ex… little baby, i love you LOL😭😭)

he’s pretty righteous!! just so long as his bottom line isn’t crossed. and a somewhat of a gentleman i feel like?? (would.. 11/10 kiss ur hand..) despite being a wanted outlaw, and his appearances and impression of a scary or unruly guy, he’s actually really reliable and can get along with people pretty easily!! (easy going, fun, personality.. flamboyance and optimism is off the charts.. like the animations from his leaked gameplay say it all!! maybe he’d give back hugs??) also cheesy guy… seems like he’d use nicknames and old metaphors but they definitely work !! surprisingly!!

Hi, I just wanted to say I've been a silent reader of yours for a very long time. I have notifications on and I basically like everything you post but recently the only fic I haven't read is the simon ones involving miscarriages. I recently got the courage to do it tonight, and it brought comfort. I know that's weird for an angsty fic but I recently had a miscarriage myself a few months ago. It was the hardest thing I've ever been through so far. Reading about Simon caring for the reader in the hospital and even when they get home was something that brought tears to my eyes because i didnt get to experience that, especially as a young woman (im 22 i miscarried just before i turned 22) Men are shit, excuse my language. Im sorry if this is something that makes you uncomfortable, but i just wanted you to know how much this means to me and how it helps. I love your writing and once again sorry if it makes you uncomfortable.

(Btw i know this is ready weird but i dont mind you posting it. I know a lot of us out there need some sort of way to know we arent alone)

Miscarriages are an overlooked topic and are just shoved off as a minor plot point, when for most people, it’s a huge part of their life that just… went away. It’s something that a lot of people go through, and it’s traumatizing for a lot of people - representing it in my Happiness series was a way to let people know that they aren’t alone.

I’m so happy that it helped you, that was its intended purpose.
