time for a wip breakdown post:

digital reflections au - explained in this post. short version: jay is replaced by an npc clone of himself (called superstar rockin’ jay) during s12 and is abandoned in prime empire by the unaware ninja. two oneshots have been planned; one has been written and posted here, and the other’s about halfway done.

putting the puzzle pieces back together - my take on what happened to jay post-merge! written post-leaks and pre-teasers so it’s all based on the fact that jay has amnesia and he’s working for the administration (which, in my au, is an agency dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and using it to keep the other realms in line). it’s been a project of mine for a while and i cannot wait to share the rest of it (especially what i have planned for jay’s powers)!

my currently-unnamed groundhog day au is based on the concept of the film (time loops), but not strictly the plot. kai and nya get stuck in a time loop during the finale of s7, and have to work with each other, their newly-returned parents, and the ninja to restore time to its natural state. i have a couple of scenes planned for this but that’s about it; i’m trying (emphasis on the word trying) to finish my other projects before tackling this!

and finally: my other prime empire au that’s been in the works since… *checks notes* july 2022?!? it’s gone through many changes and rewrites due to the fact it’s heavily science-fiction inspired and therefore requires a lot of lore-building to make sense. it’s a prime empire au, but in the loosest sense possible: there’s a video game called prime empire, some people get trapped in it, and jay gets separated from the ninja - but that’s about all there is in common. unfortunately i can’t say too much about it, given the fact that there are certain plot twists that change the trajectory of the entire story and are therefore spoilers.

Because "trying to change" is the equivalent of trying to fight a shadow. The identity is a shadow, it is not us. Analyze your mind briefly, and you will find that it is nothing but a byproduct of societal conditioning, peer opinions, books, movies, whatever content you've most willingly consumed. The mind is incessantly thinking 24/7, it never stops. It drags you into its each and every thought. It's not really you thinking, you are being thought. "I want to change my awareness" - who does? The mind? It is not even you. You merely believe it to be yourself, and let yourself get dragged away by the thought. How do we stop this? There's only one way: surrender. Stop fighting. You cannot fight a shadow, you will only look like a fool. When you surrender, you go beyond and you re-realize yourself. Surrender. Surrender to however you are, whatever state you are in. Surrender to whatever is going on, whether you believe it to be good or bad, it does not matter, because it is the mind putting these labels on it. Stop chasing, because there is nothing that you need to achieve. Not even awareness, because you already are. There is no need to "go beyond the mind" because you already are beyond it. Do not try to intellectually understand this, just accept it, because it is truth. Your blood is flowing now, but your mind is not controlling that. What is? Awareness. You are already aware. So leave it. You are perfect as you are, perfection, godliness, divine.

"i love you.": it was such a simple phrase, 8 letters, 3 words, yet it was the hardest for TSUKISHIMA to say. funny how a few words can hold so much meaning, so much commitment.

he knows that the phrase is easy for you to say. even though it's said often, it still hits him just as hard. the way the words roll off your tongue so casually kills him. he feels the same way, but the possibility of messing up scares him, and he hates that. after all this, you don't force it out of him, still loving him all the same. he's sure he doesn't deserve you.

but one day he suddenly wakes up, and he sees you in his sweater jamming to your favourite songs he grew to love too. his heart swells, and at that moment he thinks,"f*ck it, what could go wrong, right?" he says the words, soft and slow, with a heavy blush on his cheeks but his eyes never leaving you.
