Recently, I decided to age Mel up (late 30s), and with him being older, we decided that he would make a really decent fatherly figure for Khalan. And Khalan really needs that in his life ;;

NEW RAVENWOOD LORE!! :D

so basically there's a point in the RP where Khalan gets seriously wounded and almost dies (not surprising lol), and Melvin in the last minute decides to give his blood in order to keep Khalan alive :'0 but obviously, Mel is Monster Man so his blood is Magic™ and it ends up having a lot of strange effects on Khalan over time.

one of the more positive things to come about as a result of this is that Khalan ends up getting!!! the cute little star freckles that Mel also has!!! :'D so he gets to match with his new father figure and that just gets my heart SO good;;

so yeah! I had to try drawing this concept, plus a mini "comic" of sorts where Mel notices the freckles for the first time, because the idea was just too precious to pass up :'0

been struggling to draw lately. my friend ended up adding me to a Magma canvas (a site where a bunch of ppl can draw at the same time) and I attempted to draw Khalan to try and get out of the art block lol. the brushes felt really weird but I did my best xD

lol I tend to smile/laugh when I'm nervous sometimes... so I felt like drawing that with Khalan because I feel like that's something he'd probably do too, haha

felt like experimenting with some colors tonight - specifically green and yellow! I don't work with green in particular all too often so it was a bit of a decent challenge :'0

still not tired of drawing Khalan tbh xD I think I've really solidified his design to be something that I'm pretty happy with now, so it's always nice to be able to showcase that whenever I draw him ;o; he's definitely changed a lot over the years, that's for sure!

yet another Ravenwood RP sketch. this time of DAD MEL because I love him so much and I felt compelled to draw the good monster man again ;A;

of course this is kind of the aftermath of the one story arc that I've briefly mentioned a few times already (here and here, specifically). felt like touching on the soft recovery side of things with this one though. quiet scenes like this are something I always really love writing about, and heaven knows these characters need a moment of healing and peace after everything that happened;;

an unfinished drawing from summer of 2023 that I just never got around to completing;; had some trouble with it, but the sketch itself turned out pretty cute??

I had this idea at the time to repurpose Merling Khalan into another story concept, where he interacts with Robert within the old RP that takes place in Hawaii :'0 @baskervilleshound and I had talked about the concept a bit and came up with some good feels as a result, but ultimately ended up putting more of our focus onto the Ravenwood RP instead haha

however!! I've always been happy with this art even though I'll never finish it ;o;; felt like sharing in case y'all wanted to see Robert again lol. it's been a while xD

just a fun lil thing based on a situation that happened while @cookieg122 and I were playing Minecraft!! we found a Roomba-esque robot dude that was trapped in a big research facility, so we rescued it and decided to incorporate that concept into our characters' adventures as well :'D (got a video recording of the actual "rescue" itself over on my other blog: [link])

Aya is absolutely smitten with the robot and thinks its the cutest thing Ever, and at first Khalan wasn't really sure about bringing it home, but it quickly grew on him when he realized that it could help him keep the house clean, lol! seems like technology really IS useful, after all xD

some Pain based on a few new developments within the SMP story. got a decently long explanation under the cut, for anyone interested.

so @cookieg122 and I decided that Khalan and Aya eventually find themselves in Aya's home dimension - a world ruled by a race of powerful fairies who are hell-bent on eternal conquest and proudly declare their Empire as the strongest in all of the galaxy. Aya was their princess, having disappeared under mysterious circumstances (aka when she arrived in Drehmal), and her older brother had been searching for her ever since.

her sudden return ended up placing Khalan under suspicion though - as Aya's brother wrongly assumed that Khalan was responsible for "kidnapping" Aya and had him arrested as a result;; the corrupt king also got involved, hearing terrible rumors that were quickly circulating about Khalan and believing that he had hurt his daughter, so he made the swift decision to have Khalan publicly executed the next morning as a way to make an example out of him to his subjects and remind them of what happens if they step out of line and threaten the royal family.

so of course Aya saves him!!!! she convinces her brother that Khalan is innocent so he also helps out with the rescue, and between the two of them they manage to stand up to their dad and save Khalan from a terrible fate ;n;;

there's like. so SO much more to this concept that I can't really explain, but that's roughly what's going on within the feelsy art here;; I kept thinking of just. the intense emotions happening within that moment, of Aya stepping up and taking on the role of comforter even though that's normally Khalan's thing. role reversal tropes always get me, and tbh Khalan just needs a moment to break down and process just how terrifying that whole situation was before he can help Aya deal with everything too;;

srry this got long, I wasn't sure how else to explain this pic without going into some detail. but I hope y'all can appreciate the feels anyway ;o;

I know normally I don't end up drawing this kind of content, because romance is never something I'm super into in stories and all, but it did come about in the Stardew Valley AU idea that Khalan and Leah...? end up getting together as a couple??? :0

at first I wasn't really for the idea because again, I don't care much about this sort of thing. but idk the more I thought about it, the more I realized how cute it could be xD my boy deserves to find love, honestly. he's always wanted that deep down inside, but this silly AU is really the only time it'll ever work out for him ;; so that's kinda part of why I decided to make it canon, haha.

anyway, yeah.... I've had this art drawn for several months now, but I figured Valentine's Day was the perfect day to finally post it! :D yay!

lol….. last art of 2023 and it's just a silly lil drawing that's loosely based on my friend Cookie's current playthrough of Tomodachi Life xD of course she had to add Khalan and Aya Miis into the mix to see what kinds of shenanigans they'd get up to, haha!

I loved Khalan's little winter hat that he ended up with in the game, so that's mostly what I wanted to draw here… but after sketching him out, I decided to draw Aya as well just for Extra Fun. thought they both turned out cute so I figured I might as well share! o(^▽^)o
