Damn, you know you fucked up when your "Willy Wonka Experience" gets compared to Spongebob's Krabby Land.

Took a break from drawing anime dogs to doodle that one fish kid from the Spongebob episode "Krabby Land". That episode aged amazingly well given what recently happened over in Glasgow. 💀

#098 Krabby and #099 Kingler
I have a handful of more complicated WIPs in the pipeline, so I figured I should try to churn out an easy one. Krabby and Kingler are the only actual crabs in gens I-V, and as such they seem to be the only suitable candidates for land crabs. However, I didn't know they existed, so when I found out they did, I thought it was a Normaldex slam dunk! From a distance, land crabs and sea crabs look quite similar, so there wasn't quite a need for much modification. However, I did want to switch up their colorations. I originally wanted to color Kingler as J. lagostoma, but there are other more interesting colorations, such as the Halloween crab!
Krabby and Kingler really don't get enough credit, and I love them. These guys are cool too, I think.

I just found out that the Helluva Boss episode, Loo Loo Land just got recreated in real life and somehow, Loo Loo Land had more of a budget than the Willy Wonka Experience

Krabby and Kingler were fine and I feel like they should have made the color scheme more unique but I think Klawf is the better looking crab pokemon because it has the more real crab face
Tumblr media
And I like the believable behavior that it hunts by clinging to cliff faces and looking behind itself until it can drop on prey. It's more original than just acting like any regular land crab, it shows a bit more thought into speculative ecology

If Helluva really was just about killing humans, world building would be difficult. Earth in this universe isn't that different from real life, so Heaven & Hell are where it gets interesting. There aren't a lot of opportunities to explore the world building of Heaven, so...
This universe is complex, and it would be difficult to explore it with Hazbin since most of the cast are sinners, & sinners can't leave the Pride Ring. But the HB cast are Hellborn, so this is a great opportunity to expand the worldbuilding. But if it really was just a cartoon about demons killing humans, then that would be difficult since a show like that would mostly take place on Earth.
And there's even some people saying, "Remember when this show didn't have drama?" As if the 2nd episode didn't potray an abusive marriage on the brink of divorce with the child grappling with the fact that her father is interested in someone else.
Loo Loo Land should've been the biggest indicator that this would go deeper than just demons murdering people. And even most episodes that included killing humans still had drama & character dilemmas.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only episode that focused soley on killing a human with no drama was CHERUB and y'all hated that one.
Viv comfirmed at the very beginning that this was supposed to be about character relationships. A deep cartoon with an ongoing plot, complex world building, & character development would be difficult to write if all episodes were just about murder.
And for those who say that Helluva Boss just suddenly "stopped making episodes like that", remember that they "stopped doing that" pretty early in the series. Loo Loo Land barely mentioned Earth. And Unhappy Campers- despite not being the best episode- comfirmed that there would still be episodes about I.M.P killing folks.
I don't think people who bring up this argument understand how boring a show like what they described would be. This is my problem with shows like Phineas & Ferb. The same plot over & over with minor differences & you barely expect anything new...
Last time I made a post about this, there seemed to be a misunderstanding, so just want to make this clear. If you just want more episodes about I.M.P doing their job, this post isn't about you. In fact, I agree. I love episodes where it's just the gang screwing around on Earth.
But some people seem to be upset that the plot is thickening even though the creators clearly wanted something deeper than they were expecting. It's like complaining that every Spongebob episode isn't about making Krabby Patties.
I can totally understand where y'all are coming from, but I just... disagree. Some people like shows with simple plots- which is fine- but that's not what Helluva Boss is. And criticizing it for not being that isn't constructive criticism.
What's the point of creating such a complex universe if you can't showcase it? Not only would we barely see any of the 6 other rings if it were just The Killing Humans Show, but there would've been some characters that wouldn't have been introduced, too.
These same people are upset about Stolas having an important role? Even if it WAS what you wanted, that wouldn't exist without him & his relationship with Blitz. IMP travels to Earth using HIS grimoire. Of course he's important, he always was.
If you wanted an episodic adult cartoon with edgy humor & little to no depth or development, you can always watch Family Guy or The Simpsons or something. The same people bringing up these arguments always say these shows solo HB anyway...

Golduck - a large monotreme found in freshwater lakes, ponds and swamps in Kanto. They're feeding on variety of animals, mainly fishes such as Barboach or Goldeen, but they will also eat crustaceans like Krabby. These creatures are extremely agile and fast in water and are often apex predators in their habitats, but on land they can be quite an easy meal for some bigger animals. Old tales say that they drag underwater people who defile rivers and lakes, but there is no known attack by them on an adult human, although it has been known to happen to children, who, if small enough, can be seen as a meal by Golduck.

a BIG list of “Realistic” pokemon!
Politoed: like the lyrebird of frog pokemon, sets off every frog pokemon in their area because they mimic the calls of other frogs, confusing them.
Bidoof: its a baby beaver
Squirtle: squirtles live out in the sea or in deep lakes for a long time, before they develop a more stout, Snapping-turtle like body plan to facilitate them becoming more terrestrial to avoid competing too much with their young
Blaziken: this chicken remembered it was a dinosaur and stood up
Pelipper: a fell beast known as a Pelican. but with an even BIGGER throat pouch
Surskit: the nymph stage of maquerain. their undeveloped wings come together to form a protective spike for now
Gastly Line: misinterpreted as spirits of the dead, these spider-pokemon have a peculiar defense, by folding their limbs together with coloration that makes them resemble a big scary face with a dangling tongue. as they grow older they weave more webbing together to make a false Puppet-body to hide in and protect itself (known at this point as a ‘Haunter’). when they reach a certain age, many Haunter will move into the same web-body together and mate continuously with each other (Colloquially known as a “Gengar”). their webs are coated with a substance that dries easily and is toxic when inhaled, as a defense mechanism they shake their web furiously to scatter this substance as a toxic cloud of powdered dust.
Wobbuffet: wasnt sure what to do with wobbuffet, my beloved weirdo. had 4 ideas. 1: wobbuffet is a gecko with a huge tail. 2: Wobbuffet is a sea cucumber with an inflatable filament. 3: wobbuffet is some sort of hydrozoan. 4: wobbuffet is it’s own funky monstery thing. could be any of em
Chandelure line: getting it’s own post soon
Mimikyu: a land cuttlefish that once used hide and furs from dead pokemon to cover itself as a decoy and keep its body from drying out (putting it in direct competition with Banette) now moved onto the much more plentiful human-made cloth scraps and plushies. when surprised they flash and strobe in bright lights and colors, causing epileptic seizures in those who are sensitive.
Rotom: a form of flatworm, once considered a pest. they are attracted to old electronics due to the rubber gaskets, fittings and wire insulation. they feed on these before gradually breaking down the copper wiring. due to an instinct to aggressively defend their food source with electronic shocks, and being attracted to areas of high current (like the control panel or capacitors) this gives the impression that rotom ‘Possesses’ electronics
Solosis line: an amphibian pokemon that evolved to retain it’s gelatinous egg casing as a protective coating. the jelly is full of muscle fibers and neurons in a sort of mesh that is difficult to see.
Sandygast: an octopus pokemon that prowls the beach for krabby to eat. they cover themselves in sand to protect from the beating sun, even stealing unattended shovels from children on the beach to help. they prop themselves up as false shelter to the krabby to hide in away from wingull, before plopping down on them and devouring them.
Sawk & Throh: 2 morphs of the same species of short tailed/Tailless komodo dragon pokemon. living in small groups that fight constantly to establish pecking order. the sawk morph is very speedy and nimble in exchange for being very frail in comparison, while the Throh morph is much stronger and heavier but extremely slow. there is a misunderstanding that sawk and throh are ‘entirely male’ but this is untrue, rather they have a genital configuration similar to hyena’s, not to mention mating is rarely ever observed and thus poorly understood.
Kecleon: a lizard pokemon with a highly sophisticated form of camouflage, their scales even capable of taking on levels of bioluminescence and phosphorescence to increase the effectiveness of the disguise. the red band along their midsection is a clear selection of scales over a patch of light-sensitive cells that automatically adjust levels of light for their camouflage while the eyes focus on depth, shapes, details and colors.
Yamask line: black scavenger birds that build nests from glittering, sparkling objects. in the past they were known to appear in the homes of recently deceased in the unovan desert, attracted by the bronze ‘death mask’ laid over the face of the deceased, the fact that they were constantly found taking them created the myth that these birds are in fact the souls of the departed. when they mature they lose the ability to fly, but gain much greater strength and developed phalanges on their former-wings that helps them carry their nest easier. in the past they wove their nests as baskets with both lid and container to retain all the sparkling materials theyve gathered with a special, weblike secretion from their Mucus glands. but with the increasing popularity of coffins, caskets and sarcophagi in bright, glittering colors they became much more entranced by them and grew in strength to use them as semi-mobile shelter. they are Highly aggressive and possessive of anything theyve gathered.
Castform: a form of jellyfish pokemon. while technically speaking very resistant to changes in weather, they Do react strongly to it, which was a trait long bred into them by humans for weather prediction. as such, they are 'made' by humans, but not as directly as some 'synthetic' pokemon

Codename kids next door headcannons
Numbuh 19th Century's real name is "Albert Lewis"
The Galactic Kids Next Door have tried making a bootleg omnitrix watch.
The boyfriend helmet technology was made by the GKND, and the Galactic Kids Next Door supreme leader uses it's tech to mind control their operatives.
Father and Grandfather's powers stem from their emotions via their hatred of kids, and going with my "The GKND are mind controlled by its supreme leader headcannon" the brainwashing amplified Nigel's dislike for adults all the way up to 11 which activated his powers.
The previous leader of the GKND was actually a fair and kind and powerful alien that's the pure reason the KND exists at all, they gave kids the knowledge and skills to defend themselves so that the universe can be safe for kids.
If they were to learn about what the current leader has done to the organization, they'd be heartbroken.
In the middle ages, the KND treehouses looked more fantasy based and whimsical, like something you'd see in a fairy tale.
When the KND travel through space, they meet a pair of alien adult hero's that are a parody of Wander and Sylvia, the galactic kids next door can't stand them due to them annoying the crap out of their operatives and evacuating planets scheduled for decommissioning.
Numbuh Three has alot of knowledge about yokai (Japanese supernatural creatures)
Numbuh Five and Cree's older brother lives in France, and they mail letters to each other all the time.
Numbuh Two's Dad is a fighter pilot in the military
Numbuh One's Mother's name is "Olivia"
Numbuh Ten's real name is "Ashley"
Bonus round: KND Multiverse headcannons
Theres a knd sector in the TROLLS universe, and they battle villains in music battles
Kid Cosmic is an honorary operative after his encounter with Numbuh 362. They get along well like siblings. Numbuh 363 doesn't like The Kid a lot, but Kid tries to be really friendly with him and even gets him to calm down whenever he gets mad.
Numbuh Five is a powerpuff girls fan, she's even a honorary powerpuff girl and in return she made Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup honorary operatives.
The Gravity Falls Kids Next Door aren't as hostile towards teenagers like most operatives, In fact, they get along with Wendy and her freinds greatly.
The Bikini Bottom KND don't have much of a problem with SpongeBob and Patrick since they don't view them as typical adults. They also really like Sandy Cheeks as she supplies them with her technology. They're neutral with Squidward. They don't have a high opinion on Mr.Krabs after hearing about that "Krabby Land" scam he pulled.
When Mac and Bloo joined the Kids Next Door, they've been rescuing abandoned imaginary friends or freinds that are being mistreated by adults. Lots of KND operatives have even been going to Foster's to adopt their own imaginary friends, and they've been happy with them ever since.
Timmy Turner, Chester, and AJ joined the KND, Timmy supplies his sector and other sectors with magical 2x4 technology. Everyone is baffled on how he managed to get the mysterious energy source for them.

"Squirrel Jokes": She gets mad at SpongeBob's squirrel jokes and later proves to him how much she hates them by pretending to be indeed what SpongeBob said in his jokes, such as gluing him to a log and overhydrating him (making SpongeBob as big as the treedome.)
"Pressure": SpongeBob makes fun of Sandy for being a land creature.
"Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy IV": She gets mad at SpongeBob for shrinking her.
"Pranks a Lot": SpongeBob scares her by moving things in her treedome, and she, scared, flies back to Texas.
