Rise.
What if Kaede couldn't take the pressures of becoming a priestess and living in Kikyo's shadow?
What if she decided to do something about it?

Things I'm absolutely adoring about the Yashahime manga so far:
Setsuna and Moroha growing up beside one another and having a close friendship.
Towa being a slightly clueless but enthusiastic person who rushes head first into things only to regret it soon after.
Protective papa Sota.
Moroha calling Towa a fool just like how her father Inuyasha called Kagome a fool the first time they met.
Setsuna being completely displeased by Towa and refusing to believe that they're twins because Towa sucks at fighting.
Grandma Kaede, just knowing that she raised the girls and is affectionately called Grandma makes me stupidly soft.
Moroha living up to the Inuyasha tradition of knocking on doors and saying things like, "Yo Grandma Kaede you alive still?" and receiving responses of irritation from Kaede like, "I'm not dead-! Quit being so loud!" Lowkey living for it.

I've started a webcomic, OUR FIERCE DIFFERENCES. In a deep, wide desert on the brink of war, two souls form an unlikely friendship as they work together to save others and themselves from coming disaster. It features a lot of biting, but the good kind of biting

though it's my Favorite Game in the franchise, i fully understand not liking UDG because:
it's Dark even for DR
it's got some flat-out Supremely Nasty parts/jokes
it's not completely necessary to understand the entire Hope's Peak Arc
the gameplay is meh
you're not a fan of Toko (even though i think she's made much more relatable and lovable in this game)
you think Genocider should have been held more accountable for all the things
etc etc. these are all valid to me!
...however, there are definitely folks out there who just don't like it because misogyny. not really here on Tumblr, but definitely Elsewhere. i see it a lot on YouTube for instance.
not to start Discourse or anything, just something i noticed. very surprising to me too, considering this is the franchise for me that just exudes Only Women Are Remotely Competent energy, but. y'know

Inuyasha - Chapter 2 of 559...
Chapter Index
BE AWARE: These first few scanlated chapters are read from left to right...
This page is basically the thesis statement for the next 30 or so chapters.
So! Chapter 2. Kagome shows that she has some sort of spiritual power against demons.
Why is the centipede demon after Kagome? She was born with the Shikon jewel *inside of her*. So Lady Centipede does Kagome the favor of *biting it out of her*.
This is just a note, but this demon-inflicted bleeding wound in Kagome's side is never a big deal. It's just a non-issue. Tis but a flesh wound.
Anyway, to the dismay of Kagome and Inuyasha, Lady Centipede *eats* the jewel and immediately sheds her top layer of human skin, attaining her demon final form.
Inuyasha asks Kagome a serious question...
Despite a whole village-worth of people telling her not to, Kagome breaks the seal on Inuyasha and pulls the arrow out.
Once Inuyasha is free, he gleefully kills the demon and Kagome realizes that Inuyasha *is* strong.
Kagome locates the Shikon shard, and just when you think the dust is about to start settling, Inuyasha tells Kagome that if she doesn't turn the stone over to him now, she will be his next victim...
So, yeah! It's looking like Kagome IS the reincarnation of Kikyo more and more. And Inuyasha is...a bad guy? The chapter ends on another cliff hanger!!
On to the next!

As the crowd cheered for the beautiful song the mysterious singer 'Sakura' had sung, the old woman stands from her seat to grab the bottom of the club owner's white silky locks. No hesitation is shown as she drags him into his office, slamming the door behind them using her cane. Even with one of her eyes covered, the anger and disappointment Kaede had in that moment was clear to see.
"Inuyasha! How...how could ye?! How could ye drag that innocent girl into this sinful hell of ye's own creation?!"
She knew she couldn't stop him from going down this path, only try to get him to diverge off of it, but...to think he'd drag Kagome Higurashi of all people down here...Maybe he was too far gone at this point if he is bringing people who shouldn't be here at all, and yet...she wanted to think he knew better.
That's the whole reason she dragged him back here, to give him a chance to explain his actions before she showed him why all the demons in his club were terrified of the former demon-hunting priestess.
