I traveled to Mexico in the early 80's to do portraits for the people. I used large formate 8x10 and 4x5 film so I could contact print on printing out paper. I would tone them in selenium which was much cheaper than gold chloride. The next day I would give it to the person I photographed.

A 20x24” framed silver print of Embrace, an oldie but goodie from 1988 was just sold to a new collector! I can’t even tell you how appreciative I am to have this older work continue to find a new audience. #Filmphotography #film #largeformat #analog #analogphotography #darkroom #mauermag #4x5film #monochrome #bwphotography #blackandwhitephotography #bnw #speedgraphic #graflex #silvervisionfilm #selfportraitphotography #analogforevermagazine #analogforever (at Stephen Sheffield Photography & Fine Art) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck8D2wIuYWL/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

still working on obtaining my very own 4x5, but in the meantime enjoy this work in progress! I don't have the original scans anymore, but i found a picture of my photoshop screen while I worked on it back in the day. As in love now as I was then.
Shot on 4x5 large format view camera, Ilford 100 film, scanned.
I went to school for photography at the lovely Montana State University (Go Cats!) and this lovely multi-frame panorama was shot nestled up in the Bridger Mountains overlooking Bozeman, MT.
I just love the way 4x5 film *glows* and leaps off the page. mesmerizing.

Parlor.
Intrepid 4x5 Black Edition, 210mm ƒ/5.6 Schneider-Kreuznach Symmar-S Copal 3, Polaroid 405 back + Fujifilm FP100C.
Reclaimed negative scan
My first @12monthsonfilm post. This was an experiment. The film was in the holder for a while and I'd forgotten which film it was, but I had a faint recollection that it was Fuji FP100C.
So I shot this one picture in the music room. I didn't write down the settings because I just wanted to confirm what film it was, but my suspicions were confirmed.
The pulled print was way underexposed, but I always hold onto the "throw away part" because I get a kick out reclaiming negatives.
Reclaimed negatives… you know, securely taping the emulsion side face down to a piece of glass, fold up and place a paper towel over the black backing and soak it with bleach. Give it 10-15 minutes and then wipe away to see the remaining usable negative! Cool stuff.
I placed the dry negative on the scanner bed as if it were a print. The scan actually turned out! Pretty cool. Not the first time i've tried this trick.
I'm going to get out later in the week with the LF stuff and shoot Instax Wide Color using the LomoGraflok, the remaining FP100C, and if it's sunny Fomopan 100 Sheet, cloudy, Ilford FP5+ sheet film will get used.
