Sunday snippet!

This was meant to be a Friday snippet (thank yoouuu for the tag @emjayeingray, let's ignore the fact that it took me so long to post)

“Seriously James. You want the tiles scrubbed you get on your knees and do it,” Sirius’ voice rises from the hall where he’s blocking the flow of traffic, hands on his hips and feet spread wide like he’s afraid James will pick him up and forcibly relocate him to the bathroom. Remus, who would just like to get down to the kitchen, hovers awkwardly behind Sirius and only just catches him as he tries to side step the sudsy bucket and nearly falls flat on his face. Sirius and James are both in a mood. James, buzzing with poorly contained energy, has already snapped about the overflowing recycling bin and demanded Peter clean the oven. Sirius refuses to admit he’s excited, but Remus can see it bubbling there, right under the surface, making him irritable and distracted. “Seriously Sirius,” James shoots back, knocking his foot against the bucket and sloshing water onto the floor. “I’m mopping the rest of the house, the least you could do is get the bathroom.” Sirius makes an indignant noise, and then James whirls on Remus instead. He raises his eyebrows, and tries to sputter out a half-decent response when James says: “How are the baseboards?” It’s Sirius’ mouth that drops open, scowling at James. “You do not have Remus crawling around scrubbing base boards for fucks sake James he’s Regulus not the Queen.” Remus would like to argue that Regulus might just be fussier than the queen.

I can't stop thinking about how hilarious the timeline changes in the movie are, because in the book the state dinner is 3 weeks after nye so it makes sense that alex would still somewhat count new years as the beginning of their relationship yk

but in the movie it's THREE MONTHS

so henry kissed alex, ghosted him for THREE. MONTHS. and alex was still like "oh yeah we've been a thing since new years" like I'm sorry mr down bad what the FUCK were you doing for those three months? planning your wedding? naming your children? if henry was spotted w a rando at the end of february, would alex count that as cheating? because they've been together for 2 months at this point after all. when they meet as the state dinner is that hookup their 3 month anniversary celebration?

like no wonder henry made this face

More work on the Garden

Slowly but surely I am working in the garden. It is definitely a bit frustrating taking so long on things because my body can literally not keep up. I miss my 20s and 30s where my joint issues and pain were not as severe, and I could do all this in probably a solid weekend.

Anyway, I am proud of what I have going on.

I got both walls up, and all the long beds in. I ran out of chicken wire though. I won't have that until Monday. Which is annoying!

My plan is to get the last two circle planters done, and the PVC door frame. I can chicken wire the damn thing when the wire comes in.

I have some dirt, but I don't think it's enough. I probably need like anothet $300ish dollars. I literally have nothing in dirt.

But wait. . . Whats' the pile of dirt in teh below picture?

I can't use that lump of dirt in my beds. I pulled that out of my lawn, and it's sod, dirt, rocks, glass, plastic, roofing shingles, oyster shells?, playing cards, beer cans, and god knows what else. I don't feel it's safe to have in with my vegetables.

Instead, since I don't have a truck, I have been packing it into amazon boxes, and putting it in the garbage one box at a time.

This is besides feeding an entire disassembled TV console into the garbage, one or two boards at a time.

Who knew homeownership would also include patiently disposing of items you had no ability to get rid of any other way.

As always, work is dependent on my body's ability to keep up.

I guess it's good that spring just sort of started up this week, and was so late, because I had nothing done in time anyway. However, at least it will all be set up for next year, and all I'll have to do is to amend the soil and plant.
