🇺🇲 Step back in time and experience the roar of the iconic AMC Javelin, a true legend of American muscle cars! Introduced in 1967 by American Motors Corporation (AMC), the Javelin was a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, two-door hardtop automobile manufactured across two generations, spanning from 1968 through 1970 and then from 1971 through 1974 model years. It was designed to compete in the pony car market segment against rivals like the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro.
🚗💨 The AMC Javelin burst onto the scene in 1968, showcasing a sleek design and powerful engines. Styled by Dick Teague, the Javelin offered a range of trim and engine levels, from economical pony car variants to high-performance muscle car models. Its distinctive appearance, featuring a long hood and aggressive stance, turned heads on the streets and racetracks alike.
🏭 Besides being manufactured in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Javelins were also assembled under license in Germany, Mexico, the Philippines, Venezuela, and Australia, showcasing its global reach. American Motors even offered discounts to U.S. military personnel, leading to many Javelins being exported overseas.
🛞 Under the hood, the Javelin packed serious power. It was available with inline-six engines or potent V8s, delivering thrilling acceleration and speed. The AMX variant, equipped with a 6.4-liter V8, boasted over 300 horsepower!
🏆 The AMC Javelin wasn't just about looks—it excelled on the track too. It competed in Trans-Am racing, demonstrating its speed and agility. In fact, the second-generation AMX variant was the first pony car used as a standard vehicle for highway police car duties by an American law enforcement agency. Today, the Javelin's unique style and racing heritage make it a sought-after classic among collectors.
💔 By 1974, the automobile landscape had shifted. While other manufacturers downsized engines in response to changing market demands and fuel shortages, the Javelin's big engine option continued until production ceased in November 1974 amidst the Arab oil embargo and declining interest in high-performance vehicles.
🦅 The AMC Javelin embodies the spirit of American muscle cars, blending style, performance, and affordability. It's a timeless classic that continues to capture the hearts of car enthusiasts everywhere. Get ready to hit the road and experience the thrill of the AMC Javelin!

May i ask about your headcanons for states as kids, just whatever you want come up with, I'll share mine
I think a lot of the states had accents speaking English as kids
Florida would definitely just combine the weirdest food, if there's a weird food that every state is eating it's because Florida found a really good one and made it a trend
I personally imagine texas would sleep(or try to) in a pillow nest, his hair would also be very unkempt and his hat would be oversized
Gov has been overly professional forever and has made a fool of himself, i imagine the states were adults already and whenever they even slightly take him seriously they remember the ridiculous things he said as a kid and laugh
They all definitely commit violence upon each other, especially after Christmas with the bonk stick
YES YES, them as kids is such a fun thing to think about
States as kids
Mass and Penn were bitters, you get too close and you got 50 unknown viruses
Jersey is a forest rat
York and Jersey would swim in the Hudson, no one knows how they are still alive
Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Oklahoma would go hunting together, yes they were about 8, what about it?
If Jersey talked too fast he would stutter or switch to either Dutch or Swedish, he wouldn’t notice the language switch until York told him
Florida and alligators, need I say more?
California was very food picky, most times Texas would cook something for him
York and Jersey would go between each others homes for dinner every weekend, York’s grandparents loved to introduce Jersey to different Italian foods, Jersey’s mothers would do the same to York but with Dutch and Swedish foods
Penn and Virginia would have other states watch Gov during the week, with Mass, Vermont, and Maine watching him on the weekends
Jersey and Del weren’t allowed alone, they would go onto boats and try to take them over, just two probably 7 year old's successfully taking over a British ship
Minnesota and Michigan would trick Wisconsin by swapping places, like the parent trap but with a fellow child and it’s just that child that would fall for it
Florida and Jersey would refuse to believe that English was a real language, when Louisiana came along, he too refused to believe it was real, Jersey was never able to convince Del that it wasn’t real but he was close
York and Jersey were inseparable when Jersey first met Mass and Penn, Jersey couldn’t really understood the English they spoke because accents so York acted as a sort of translator, translating English to different sounding English
I'll be honest, I could probably make this list way way longer but I think this is long enough, might do another list to get more of these down

Last year... or last last year I guess, when I voted in the midterm elections the line to vote was about an hour long. Snaked through two floors of the building it was in.
Our new polling place is in an old fire station? And it's small. I mean there was basically nobody there but the hallway where there would be a line had enough room for maybe 10 people tops. More than that and you're waiting outside.
Which means the presidential election in November is going to be a fucking nightmare if they do it in the same building.
I don't know what the hell they were thinking. My small corner of the city has about 12,000 people living in it. Obviously you don't have to vote at the closest polling place, but most people DO.

Are you planning on introducing any characters with other accents in the future? /genq /genuinely interested :)
Yep! There's going to be a character in Dion and Kane's storyline that's going to have a bit of an accent, but I'm still working out what he's going to sound like lol
I've kind of also wanted to do something slightly Slavic, and I wouldn't be surprised if I did another vaguely southern sounding one. But yeah! I imagine there'll probably be more in the future! I'm always open to suggestions too, if there's something people would be interested in hearing

🇺🇲 The Rambler Six and Rambler V8, produced by American Motors Corporation (AMC) from 1956 to 1960, revolutionized the automotive landscape with their groundbreaking advertisements.
💰 Despite a brief sales setback, the 1958 Rambler model witnessed an extraordinary resurgence, with sales soaring to 119,000 units. Building on this success, the 1959 lineup saw notable enhancements, including a redesigned grille, enhanced brakes for V8 models, fuel efficiency optimizations, and the introduction of electric overdrive and pushbutton automatic transmission.
🛞 Comprising 11 models with optional features such as air conditioning and adjustable seats, the Rambler lineup garnered acclaim for its affordability and craftsmanship, securing a commendable sixth position in the fiercely competitive U.S. market.
🚘 Often hailed as the "Kenosha Cadillac," Rambler cars were predominantly manufactured in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Notably, one such vehicle belonged to Andy Anderson, the father of Louis Anderson, immortalized in the beloved animated series "Life with Louie" (1994 - 1998).

did you ever watch fargo? it has similar story beats to true detective, at least, season one (it’s another anthology type series, crime focused) there’s a dude in there who i think you’d get a kick out out of… very much quietly intensely batshit insane and Off™️ but somehow presents himself as the sanest one in the room. he’s rust cohle, in a way, but murderer, not detective
Thanks for the rec! Watched S1 over the past week or so. Was good but it frustrated me. Billy Bob Thornton Serial Killer was the highlight, you were right! He was very fun. What a weirdo.
I don't know if it was that I grew up in an area with accents like theirs so I was like, hyper aware They Are Doing An Accent, or that it was based on Coen Brother's work, but a lot of the characters felt... rather like caricatures? I don't know, something about it had a wall between me and it, where I wasn't immersed so they felt like We Are Actors On A Set Delivering Lines Really Well rather than I was in the moment, if that makes any sense. Maybe it was the monologues, Flannigan series can have the same affect to me.
Still, was a really good cast. I needed Martin Freeman to get his comeuppence like three episodes sooner, my god that man could just wiggle out of everything (SPOILER he sent his wife to get shot???? what the fuck is wrong with him. I was screaming SPOILER OVER). I always like it when Colin Hanks pops up in things. Allison Tolman and Billy Bob Thornton fucking carried the whole thing, they were the only two I didn't really get the I Am Delivering Lines With Emotion And This Thick Minnesotan Accent feeling.
Writing was generally tight, too. Good full circle moments and Chekov's guns, pieces came together in satisfying ways. Was fun to be rooting for Molly to catch her killers and for Billy Bob to fucking get Martin Freeman. I think it could have been one episode shorter, or skipped the time jump, to give the police a modicum more competence, they were killing me.
Idk if I'll watch the other seasons, I did enjoy it overall. Might check out the newest one because I'm a slut for Jon Hamm.
