Collared mangabey (Cercocebus torquatus)
These monkeys live on the western coast of tropical Africa, in wetland forests. They live in the treetops, eating fruits, seeds, leaves, and more, but their toes are webbed and they are somewhat effective swimmers. The word mangabey is supposed to have come from the Mangabe district of Madagascar, where a mixup led European naturalists to mistakenly believe a shipment of mangabeys had originated from.

genuine question, i know its bad for wild primates to live with people, so why is it okay to let different species of other primates interact with each other, like the gorilla playing with the baby monkeys? and it looked like they share and enclosure too? how does that work
Above is a video where zookeepers describe caring for mixed species and mixed ages at Chester Zoo.
Below, at the 2 minute mark you can see how the mangabeys get special entrances that require brachiation- which gorillas can't utilize. So the magabeyes can decide to leave the mixed group. If the gorillas were to get too rough with the baby, mom would have taken baby out of there.
Much time and effort is spent making sure all animals are safe so multiple exits, large space, different lifestyles (like arboreal species and ground dwelling species- they can each retreat to "their own" space) and much more comes into account when planning a mixed-species enclosure.
Primate moms will be protective of her young and would closely monitor her baby with others until she knows they are safe together. Like the mom orangutan and teenage gibbon in the top video.
See a previous post on the topic (and hear another keeper explain their mixed-species enclosures) here

Look at all them simians
So - um - guess who got into that one LEGO show! Anyhoo- It inspired me to bring back pretty much all of my primate OCs from like - 2-3 years ago. Plus, being inspired by this person’s art - I decided to create two more OCs based on my research(?) on other c.primates that were mentioned in the book.
I forgot her name - heck - I’m not even sure if I named her anymore, but before C.Primate No.3, the mangabey has always had a special place in my forever expanding heart lol
Alt design for my boi - because yes.
The first - if not only doodles of some of the OCs.
Not counting Zahara though, considering a drew her pretty often - just as a human like - 98% of the time-
