We’re the dead social media site remember! The site that got taken off the App Store. The one that once locked the female presenting nipples away. The site that was bought for a billion and sold for three million.
We have a fucking holiday for the death of Caesar and Destiel for goodness sake.
There is nothing for you here.
What if more big names come over here?
What if…Tumblr becomes relevant again?
If more celebrities come over here people might start thinking Tumblr is relevant again. I don’t want that. We been chilling in our little corner, being irrelevant and not bothering anyone.
Seriously. Please don’t make Tumblr relevant again. Please don’t make this site matter. Just let us exist in the ether. A forgotten relic.
every time i remember that 17 was actually unironically the last amazing year of my life i cry bc it feels so fucking stupid bc of how cliche it is but like when i tell you the songs didnt/dont lie it's not even that necessarily my xps are reflected in the songs but it's just i get why everyone sings about is so much yeah god im fucking crying
If you're willing to run another bonus poll, I'd love to know the percentage of your followers listen to audio dramas vs. actual play/TTRPGs vs. both. Or a Kinsey scale of sorts might provide better metrics. I would think there is a strong overlap but would love to see the numbers!
A Kinsey scale is interesting, and I could turn off reblogs so only you all (and people you manually share it with) would answer. That and the limit to just two types of podcasts might provide different results than this poll.
I'd also be interested in quantity of podcasts vs quantity of listening hours, and will try and figure out how to represent two different axes of data on a twelve-option single-choice poll. Given the different average runtimes for the different types of podcasts, someone (me, lol) could easily listen to more audio dramas but spend more hours of their life listening to actual plays.
I have a friend who's still highly cautious around covid because she's high risk but she keeps posting all these screenshots of tweets about covid studies on her instagram in an attempt to convince people that covid is still very dangerous
and it's not that covid isn't still potentially dangerous, but one quick google search has allowed me to find every study that she has referenced, and without fail, every single one of them has been working with pre-vaccine, pre-omicron data. the most recent one she's posting about is about cardiac conditions post covid, and wouldn't you know, the entire sample was taken from people who caught covid between march 2020 and january 2021.
this was pre-vaccine, pre-omicron, hell, it was pre-delta variant (remember that one). this was the wild type covid, which our bodies were least immune to. it was the type that was most known to be causing cardiac symptoms and blood clots. besides delta, it was the most deadly. and no one was vaccinated.
so yes, in that group of people, who were unfortunate enough to catch covid during that period, the results of this study are likely very valid- they are at increased risk of heart disease. and that should be talked about and studied more and if those people end up with cardiac symptoms they need to be receiving proper care.
but we should not be assuming, without further study, that these risks are still the same for those who've been vaccinated, or who only caught covid after the omicron variant became dominant (the omicron lineages have been pretty different from the wild type and other pre-omicron variants, so it's worth noting that). like this is a study that must be replicated with a post-vaccine, post-omicron sample before you will even remotely convince me that those cardiac risks are the same as they were before.
and it is driving me crazy that my friend, who is also fucking trained in how to read science, is posting this shit seemingly without looking at the actual papers or thinking about the context at all. like it is driving me absolutely bananas. these posts aren't even like, direct quotes from the papers, they're screenshots of randos on twitter talking about these papers, as if twitter rando knows jack shit about what they're talking about. like it's all well and good to still care about covid but could you at least do it with less of the fear mongering?
when I was 19 in 2019 I got these Vibes about 2023, it wouldn't be good or bad it would just be a Significant year
2020 was so bad that 2021 could only be better, it started good and then I got paranoid that 2022 was gonna be bad in comparison, so I mentally prepared myself for 2022 months in advance
then by the summer 2021 suddenly became worse than all of 2020 combined, but it improved by about september
bc of the mentally preparing myself months before, 2022 was amazing, but bc it started so good I got the feeling that it wouldn't end well
the last 4 months were pretty bad, and then came 2023
I got many different vibes for it over the past 4 years, but one of the main things was that there'd been a pattern going since 2015
2015: extremely good
2016: extremely bad
2017: average
2018: pretty decent
2019: extremely good
2020: extremely bad
2021: average
2022: pretty decent
so 2023 was expected to be really good? but also it had to get up from 2022's bad ending so the goodness was gradual
my brain is prepared for a good last 4 months to compare to 2022's bad last 4 months
but also following the pattern, 2024 should be extremely bad, and once I've got the thought in my head that a year will be bad, there's no going back. which would explain the extremely bad year following an extremely good year
2015 and 2019 were unreal, which meant 2016 and 2020 would've looked bad in comparison no matter what, so they just completely gave up and decided to be awful
but anyway it's 'getting paranoid about next year' season, also I can never escape the patterns of time etc etc
friday i think...? it's my least favourite koga 5* (the ranking goes 1>4>2>5>3) because there's something kind of off about the bloomed version that i can't really put my finger on...? probably the foot lol, the toe's kinda weirdly shaped. BUT it's still a nice 90k card and a large blue jewel farmer, so! i can't dislike him. plus i'm always weak for a cutely excited koga :')
and omg i finally saw the enst basic chibi motion for koga's most recent 5* and
THAT SLEAZY LEAN AND :P... SO CUTE... i love him...

names & pronunciations
correctional officer at a prison vs human resources at grocery store
tried to shoot wife, store, and then park? Thanks, God
the whore was never seen again after returning?

Lunga was pulling the trigger the whole time, wth?
The score and lack of it.
The racial matters presented. 👌🏿
The presentation of the townspeople and their regular lives.
The way they valued their history (e.g.: "We'll clean it all up good and scrub the floor. But leave the walls as they are.").
Lunga's style and Teresa & Domingas' hair.
The fact that I'm still questioning Lunga's gender.
The presentation of the "civilized" folk.
How this was basically The Most Dangerous Game with a happy ending.
(MAJOR SPOILERS)
From a discussion I took part in after
Ah,
The dinner table conversation before SHTF.
Domingas' polyamorous relationship.
Lunga's forefinger was fully pressed against his revolver's trigger while he pointed it at Michael (the German-American) near the very end of the film. Maybe I don't know enough about guns, but that's a clear sign it's either out of ammo or needs to have the hammer re-cocked, which it already was.
Took me out of the film enough to drop its score down to 9.75/10. >.>
The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell, which has film adaptations. Really enjoyed the book in high school.
The whole "game" is an allegory of civilized people's obsession with hunting wild animals for sport. One of them made it blatantly clear when he confessed to his peers what he planned to do to his wife after their divorce and, upon realizing she wasn't in town, couldn't bring himself to do to complete strangers at grocery stores or parks. Dude thanked the "person upstairs" for making him wait so he could do it in Brazil instead.
Add to this the fact that one of them explained to the "tourists" what they did to the farmers was totally different because they used vintage guns,... which now that I think about it are also what the townspeople used (e.g.: Winchester 44).
There's something about the mayor selling out the entire town to foreigners' bloodthirsty pleasure that I fail to put words to. His statement "We'll all pay for this. Even I'll die for this." after realizing the foreigners were killed makes me wonder how deep that rabbit hole goes.
Add to that the fact that Forasteiro (the male "tourist") was a judge assistant tasked with helping them.
Classism? Maybe it's just good ol' racism. Meh.
