encounter with the Wishmaker and the resulting consequences
Jirachi: tell me what is your greatest of desires that never would  come true otherwise?
N crying and sobbing: to be safe and to have a genuinely loving father, living with pokemon that aren't constantly abused to keep me in line with some unknown plan or another
Jirachi pratically fuming with anger and sheer rage opened her third eye which shone with the deepest black, red and blue light i have ever seen alongside the Millennium Comet, all of the sky was bathed in that same light as Jirachi fulfilled N's wish then a thunderstorm gathered overhead and the Hero of Ideals brought out of his pocket the Black Stone and fighting atop a recently awakened Zekrom a madman that wanted with Ghetsis help to drain all power out of the three dragons of creation so that using a machine he invented he may fuse with that power and become the world indisputed God-King, the ensuing fight saw me descend from the skies atop a willingly fused temporary fusion of Reshiram and Kyurem even releasing one Ice Burn after another even if doing so considerably shortened the fusion when it ended i ended up riding Reshiram while Kyurem provided support at a certain point of the fight i pulled off myself channeling a Glaciate and releasing it as a wave in such a way that it perfectly mixed with Reshiram's flames roaring to life melting the asfalt and simultaneously freezing and melting Ghetsis and the guy he was helping

Peter B admitting to Miles that the non stop tragedies and losses shaping their stories are hard, harsh, and , knowing they can do something about it, cruel even. Then saying the GOOD aspects essentially outshine them. But that's not true. That's a classic toxic positivity line, used to justify shitty, unequal politics. " But at least we have this one good thing" WE CAN HAVE THAT GOOD THING AND NOTHING ELSE. WE AREN'T MADE TO BE IN PAIN, AND PAIN SHOULDN'T MAKE A HERO.
What Miguel doesn't understand is they don't owe the world suffering.

I wonder if Grovyle's comment about himself not trusting people easily was refering to him not trusting hero and partner with a bit of crucial information.

Prompt #8
cw referenced drugging & kidnapping??
The villain gave hero a truth serum and asked hero to tell their darkest secret, expecting a some sort of corrupt agency or a crime they did so the villain can use that to blackmail the hero.
Hero instead spilled the most horrifying, gut wrenching, traumatizing backstory known to man that they kept bottled up their whole entire life and villain just thinks. "oh.... you're kind of fucked up actually....you need to Seek Help how did you even get through those what the fuck."

just finished undertale. ok i see the vision. i now understand yall's Sans-to-Benrey obsession pipeline. and the Papyrus-to-Tommy Coolatta pipeline
#undertale#hlvrai#hlvrai2#benrey#tommy coolatta#papyrus#benry#hlvrai benry#sans undertale#sans#undertale sans#undertale spoilers#i loved Papyrus so much and the whole time i was playing i was like hmm he reminds me of someone...? TOMMY. HE REMINDS ME. OF TOMMY.#i played pacifist but i saw how if u kill every1 n spare Papyrus Sans tells him every1 else is on a vacation bc truth would be too hard#file under: lies Gordon would tell Tommy if anything happened to Sunkist or his dad Gman#we wanna protect Tommy but on the other hand. the horrors r everywhere & Tommy go ham with a gun (he's terrified & acting on pure instinct)#(even tho Tommy has definitely faced his share of horrors in contrast to how Papyrus's loved ones try to shelter him from bloodshed)#i wanna write a paper psychoanalyzing Sans and Benrey in comparison to each other SOOOOO badly#it's been a hot minute since i last watched hlvrai (have seen it at least 4 times but not recently. did watch bbvrai live tho!)#im so extremely tired rn so i can't form proper thoughts :( but like:#they both have unfathomable otherworldly power and knowledge of their respective universes#but u wouldn't know it bc they're presented as just some chill guy who likes to make jokes and Vibe man#sike! they're a being of elderitch levels of power#they both act in accordance to game code but Sans can control parts of it (can see the timeline) while Benrey is much more subject to it#in some ways they are the antithesis of each other's motives but also contain the same vibes (all-powerful guy laidback n funny final boss)#Sans is judgment but doesn't interfere with the timeline. Benrey takes action that's “i knew this was gonna happen”#Benrey is fought as the final villain whereas Sans is arguably the final hero fight#anyways THEIR VIBES ARE BOTH SO !!!!!!!!!!!!!#idk if they'd be besties or mortal enemies#they can bond over being “unserious” (but they both take their true jobs very seriously. security guard and judgment bringer respectively)

so I don't necessarily have anything to *say* about it just yet but I find this moment very interesting because if there's one thing that's always been very central to Dib's characterization it's that he, like Zim, is driven primarily by ego—and more to the point, his sense of heroism is ultimately constructed in much the same way Zim's role as an invader is. It's a shallow fantasy he's crafted for himself to make living more bearable, and I would think that the opportunity to be hailed as an entire planet's chosen savior would be exactly the kind of thing he'd seize on. It's EXACTLY how he sees himself, or at least, how he wants to see himself.
Tumblr media
And the really interesting thing is that we actually DO see exactly this happen later on in the same story, when he finally wins and it maybe just a little bit goes to his head. He's genuinely well-intentioned, and he wants to teach the Plim to rise up and save themselves rather than rely solely on him, but that's just it—his ultimate end goal as Defender of the Earth has always been to expose the truth and make people realize how blind they've been, but now that he's opened their eyes they can go forth and seize their own destiny, which just happens to look a lot like all the things Dib personally cares about. Perhaps ironically, his desired role is less hero than prophet, and maybe that's why he finds it so hard to swallow the notion of starring in someone else's pre-made narrative.
(And there's something to be said here, about how Zim, for all his unrepentant Zim-ness, might've actually gotten one thing a little bit right when he told Dib the Plim weren't suited to self-actualization—that they didn't want it. To Zim's view, of course, this only makes them exploitable and we're right back to him being horrible again, but I think there is something worth considering about the Plim's autonomy and that, faced with all the evidence and every means with which to save themselves, they still asked—literally asked—Dib to do it for them. Which begs the question—is Dib's continued insistence on developing the Plim's independence itself a kind of subjugation? How about his fixation on showing humankind something they so obviously don't want to see?)
... But you know the really funny part?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dib ultimately rejects yet another heroic title that isn't to his liking, albeit much less surprisingly this time. Lesson unlearned.
Take this all with a grain of salt—I'm thinking out loud here and quite literally didn't expect to say any of this, but it's an aspect of Dib's character that interests me, and it was actually really unexpected and exciting to read a piece of canon material going into it. I think I'd like it if there'd been more emphasis on Dib's initial motives being largely the same as Zim's in essence—that is to say, feeding his ego and spiting the nemesis—since his ultimate epiphany is that all this time wasted on a petty popularity contest could've been spent actually, you know, being a hero, but the message still comes across and the core of the story being told is really solid. I'm going to be obsessed for weeks.
Also, Plab is everything to me. And I really do think it says something that the single faithful outlier among the Plim still thought Dib could maybe afford to cool it on the reclaiming-their-individuality bit. That's honestly more telling to me than the opinion of any crowd.

Yin,Yang and Wuji
I was talking through telepathy with Reshiram when I acutely felt every bone in my body break as I felt and heard Kyurem and Zekrom fighting against a horde of Pokemon, I mounted Reshiram and took off to the site of the battle when I arrived I dismounted and snarled a subdued o Reshiram, Fusion Flare, the attack hit the Shadow Pokemon's leader fully carbonizing it. the remainining Shadow Pokemon attacked in a frenzy of violent hunger and cruelty deliberately prolonging their victims' suffering, i and N shared a glance Unown gathering round me, the sheer murderous desire i was radiating made my opinion of whoever did this clear, time and space distorted as the Unown acting on my subconscious desires teleported the one responsible for this mess unto my lap revealing them as Nascour who i and N fully aware of using our abilities more than normal and thus tethering us further and further to our respective Dragons and for me only the other Legendaries, which caused a thunderstorm and a rain of fire to intimidate Cypher's second in command before  fragment of the sleeping power of the Original Dragon shared by Kyurem with me stirred followed by Reshiram and Zekrom's fragments of it, i remember howling in rage and anger as the three Dragons took control of my mind and body from me temporarily, mauling Nascour viciously enough that he needed to remain in the hospital for a whole week and to break any hope of his of gaining control of one of the Dragons  they jabbed him in the cranium with a shard of Kyurem's ice freezing any idea of that in its' tracks and to be absolutely sure with that same shard stab they froze his loyalty, after regaining control i used psychic gifts from Mewtwo and Calyrex both to make him answer any question we ask of him after a lot of careful poking and prodding with all sorts of questions mostly because of myself passively sensing our interrogation subject lying a whole lot and N sensing Nascour's attemps to conceal his Ideal from the Dragon of all Ideals useless to say N caught on and wasn't impressed first berating him for thinking he could become the Hero of Ideals if he murdered the current one and then made Zekrom a Shadow Pokemon under his control and his alone then i intervened breaking to Nascour bluntly the Truth that it wouldn't and will never work before in my rage accidentally using Glaciate at zero virgola zero uno percent power freezing everthing around me, using the Wuji's association with unlimited possibility as it is the undefined single whole without polarity, without opposites from which both Yin and Yang were born to return any other mistaken Ideals or Truths to the primordial Wuji

Hot Take: Hero would not forgive Sunny and Basil. (MAJOR SPOILERS!)
Last warning for spoilers :3 Also longevity warning. This thing is 1118 words total. lmao. Also if you’re expierencing thoughts about suicide, please reach out. (TRIGGER WARNING: Suicide, A POV of depression, Omori stuff man this game makes me want to sob) The truth about Mari is that Mari didn’t take her own life- Sunny pushed her down the stairs accidentally. Witnessing this, a panicked Basil decides to “help” Sunny by framing Mari’s death as suicide, hanging our dearest Mari on a tree bu a jumprope, making everyone believe she committed suicide.
Little, innocent Aubrey thought she committed suicide. Our rau of sunshine Kel thought she committed suicide. And Mari’s dear lover, our Hero, thought she committed suicide.
Lets talk about Hero’s grief for a bit.
-HEROS GRIEF-
As stated by KEL in the game, Hero refused to get out of bed, go to school, eat, and other important things because of Mari’s death. This lasted for about a year.
Kel then continues on to say that he tried to get Hero out of bed one day, saying how everyone misses him and such. Hero responds negatively to this, still stuck in a abyss of depression. The more Kel tried to encourage him, the more and more upset Hero gets, until the point where he snaps at his on brother.
“He suddenly got up and started screaming and yelling at me about a bunch of stuff. Some of it eas pretty hurtful too..”
-KEL
We all know, under any other circumstance, Hero would never say anything mean or hurtful to Kel. Even sibling-to-sibling “bullying” doesn’t apply to these two. They care for each other enough to never say anything mean.
But under this circumstance, Mari is gone. Hero loved Mari. And now she was gone. But Hero was still alive. (/ref lmao.) He became so overcome with grief and sadness that he just unpiled it onto young Kel, who was only trying to help. Luckily, after their parents be literal bitches and ignore Kel crying and comfort Hero, Hero comes to his senses and apologizes to Kel over and over. Hero seems to get better after this.
“Eventually, mom and mom ran to our room and rushed over to hug him to calm him down.
-(cut part because this isnt a kel analysis post. sorry buddy you gotta wait your turn)
“I think that’s when HERO got his senses back, because he ran to me and hugged me right away.
“Just kept apologizing over and over..
”But.. at least HERO got a lot better after that. He started taking care of himself again..”
BUT OF COURSE we know he really didn’t get better. When Hero joins your party, at first he doesn’t want to go to Mari’s grave. Whenever Sunny tried to go there, Hero stops him by saying he isn’t ready yet.
When we do get there however, its then revealed that Hero never realky visited Mari’s grave. Probably because it hurt to think about her. Every day, every waking moment he was reminded of her, and he couldn’t stop her from leaving him. Four yeare, four years he blamed himself for Mari’s suicide, thinking and forcing himself to believe that it was all his fault because he didn’t see the signs to stop her from leaving…
Except there were no signs.
Mari never chose to leave them.
She never chose to take her life.
She didnt take her own life.
Instead, the one who took her life..
Was her brother, Sunny.
-THE TRUTH-
While we have absolutely no idea what happens after the good ending/any of the endings (well we know Sunny moved and left Basil to pick up the scraps 💀 we’ll save that for another post), since this fandom is so goddamn immersed we do have enough to make a theory about each friend.
A lot of people say they would all forgive Sunny and Basil eventually, but I think the case is different with Hero. Which is probably what you’re here for actually, so let’s just set the claim:
Hero will NOT be able to forgive Sunny and Basil, and he might never be able to forgive them.
This is because of Hero’s Grief.
Imagine that you loved someone dearly (could be platonic for all you aromantic besties) and they committed suicide.
Imagine you spent four years blaming yourself, grieving, asking yourself “why” every single day, because there was nothinf you could do to stop them, you didnt see the signs, you thought everything was fine with them, but you were wrong, and you failed them. You’d call yourself the worst lover/best friend to ever exist, beating yourself into a mindset that they never loved you, or if they did, they didnt love you enough to stick around, and that impacted your life so badly that you almost starved yourself and starting saying mean things to your family/those who are trying to help.
Now imagine that..
And then crumple it up and throw it away.
Everything was a lie. You thought they killed themselves, but in the end someone else was responsible for their death. Someone else took their life. Someone else made you believe that they hung themselves and that you failed and that you’re a failure and that you don’t deserve to live while they’re gone.
Sure, the whole thing was an acccident, but either way that grief was all for NOTHING. Ever bad thought, every remark, every meal skipped, every day spent in bed was a waste. You never had anything to blame yourself for. It was never your fault. And the two people reponsible had hidden it for four years.
Hell, screw what I said before about it beibg an accident. The pushing was accidental, but the hanging wasnt. Of course, Basil was a scared kid, but why wasnt the ambulance the first thing in mind? Why did they frame her? Why did Sunny let him do it?
Some people argue that Hero forgave Aubrey for pushing Basil in the lake, but that was different. Yes, they were both impulses of anger, but Basil had time to survive. People were there. You can get water out of people’s lungs. You can’t fix a broken neck.
And also, Aubrey had more witnesses. She wouldn’t have been able to frame it as anything, because the whole town would probably know about it within a few days (Gossiptown fr💀). If Basil died in the lake, there wouldn’t have been a hidden truth. There wouldnt have been lies. No four years of thinking Basil drowned himself. Because they already knew.
Now I’d suspect if Basil did actually die, the forgiveness wouldnt be so quick. (Someone better make a fanfic of that scenario /nf)
AND SO THE TL;DR IS: Hero would not forgive Sunny and Basil, because what it did to him was too mentally draining, and the lies were too much. No matter how much he would think about how it affected them, he would only ever be able to think about his grief and the consequences.
Again, this is my personal theory, but feel free to peacefully argue with me! Or give more details :0
Thanks for reading all of this, if you did! If y’all want to suggest things for me to analyze just use the asks thingy :3 or get me to talk about headcannons. I love headcannons.

anyway every spider-man in the multiverse is alone except for miles. can anybody hear me
#every spiderman starts out thinking theyre the only one#every spiderman learns the lesson that theyre only one person and they cant save everyone#every spiderman grits their teeth and keeps going in face of tragedy#every spiderman learns about the multiverse and when they realize there are other people like them#they pass on their own trauma in a cycle --- this happened to me and it had to happen so that this good thing could also happen#which means that this terrible thing has to happen to you too#thats their universal truth: they cant save everyone alone so they need to maximize their influence to save as many as they can#but miles? miles morales is the spiderman who got bit already knowing who spiderman was#miles is the spiderman who had six different spider-mentors help him come into his own#miles is the only spiderman whose introductory monologue ends with 'and im not the only one'#miles is the one who looks at all these people whove decided they Have to suffer alone and says#'ok but what if i helped you'#'what if instead of taking the good with the bad we still got the good but stopped the bad anyway'#'sure i can't save everyone alone but the whole goddamn point of the multiverse is that im not the only one'#and thats why miles is our hero#across the spiderverse#across the spiderverse spoilers#(tiny amendment actually: miles is actually not the only spider who knows hes not alone right from the beginning#atsv also introduces us to pavitr --- a member of the spider society whos even more of a rookie than miles is#and huh whaddya know: the kid who knew from the start that he wasnt alone is the one whose traumatic 'canon event' is stopped#in a joint effort between him and his friends#yeah that probably isn't foreshadowing or anything)
