the worst part is that medicare4all would still be bad. it would be 100% better than what we have now and still be bad. learning that medicare doesn't cover routine vision care or the shingles vaccine made me want to melt God with my eyes. this cat coming in tomorrow has not only Medicare but a supplemental plan and he's still going to self pay for his god-damned eye exam. imagine that there is a population of people who are at risk for degenerative eye conditions that should be caught early and most of them wear glasses anyway and need prescriptions updated and both insurance plans they have will not cover it and it's not like shingles is dangerous for seniors or something right??????? right???? covid19 was not the boomer remover the united states of america hates all of the poor.the elderly and medically frail in particular and that's why we need to let go of these stupid between-generation squabbles we need granddad in the class wa

I'm sitting here extremely frustrated.

I'm poor and have been for my entire life. I also live in the richest country on earth.

I recently had some dental pain, had no idea what it was and was freaking out about it. I tried several times to go to local dentists who all turned me away because I'm on state funded Medi-Cal insurance. I was denied even after showing I could pay out of pocket.

I eventually found a dentist that would see me. They took me in and did a shoddy job at fixing the issues. Outright denying one of the complaints I had. I now have to go back to have them fix everything. Not to mention, the "insurance" only covered a couple hundred dollars of a procedure that cost over $3000.

We are nickeled and dimed in this country for shitty Healthcare. I'm sick of it. I'm seriously considering a trip to another country, just to get the dental work done.

This is ridiculous.

This is followed by marketing campaigns to normalize and idealize the fake look. For example, payments to TV and Movie studios to ensure actors with a fake look get good roles, donations to fake streamers and tiktokers, etc

Plastic surgery is normalized

Even the “natural look” will be someone with only 2 or 3 procedures as opposed to 8 or 12

Remember when one of the reasons back in '09 we couldn't have Medicare4All was because all those workers at insurance agencies wouldn't have jobs, they would flood the job market

Now that's a good thing, right? How about instead of having people retire later and start working younger (as actual children), we just get rid of all those unnecessary insurance workers

On Friday, May 1, an ongoing General Strike campaign begins. It comes when the failures of the US political system have been magnified by the #COVID19 pandemic, which triggered an economic collapse in a presidential election year. The General Strike campaign will be ongoing with actions on the first of every month. Strategic strikes of workers, students, consumers, prisoners, and renters will also continue. We will not participate in a system willing to sacrifice us.

This new era of mass strikes builds on successful strikes by teachers, healthcare workers, hotel workers, and others. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in the last two years, there has been the largest number of major work stoppages in 35 years with more than 400,000 workers involved in strikes in both 2018 and 2019. This continues in 2020 with this wave.

People must commit to an ongoing campaign of strikes starting now and continuing after the election. FDR faced more than 1.4 million people striking after he was elected, which forced him to put the New Deal and workers’ rights legislation in place. The next president should be subjected to continuous strikes with specific demands. Striking is the most powerful tool of the people. We need to learn to use it effectively. #Solidarity

-When they demand we go back to work before there is a vaccine, we do not.

-When they demand we use that 1200$ check to pay part of our rent, we do not.

- When they demand we die to satisfy their greed, we do not.

Our demands are simple.

-Emergency Universal basic income until a vaccine is available.

- Mass testing.

-Bill freeze (mortgage, utilities, car loans, rent, etc.)
