life is not a race and you’re not behind
i’m excited about the james webb images
and images of the telescope itself
i like calling my husband hubble, i wonder if he’d call me webb...
i now pronounce us hubble and webb
maybe we can have a hamster named pebble
and i’d ask to be called webble just to fit in.
i have his birthday gift downstairs.
i was worried the guards would alert him when he left
but luckily there wasn’t free parking available tomorrow
so he had to go to the basement to get the car from the paid parking
sometimes bad stuff that happen end up being lucky
i tried an instant coffee with strawberry flavoring in it
but it was too sweet
so i added real coffee
and real strawberries
real milk, and fake sugar
sometimes i just want to try things a little bit
to replicate them a lotta bit
i was thinking of buying a lavender soap
but it was too expensive and not on sale
there was only one on the shelf
i asked, is this a sign, should i take it
so i put it in my cart,
and suddenly found a different
larger, cheaper
lavender soap
maybe it was a sign to take it so i can feel how much better it was to buy the better option
maybe it wasn’t a sign at all
and people just like lavender
and are intimidated by big bottles of soap
it’s so hard to wake up in the morning
i keep giving myself bribes
like coffee, and fake urgency
i need a way to remind myself how the hard things feel better in the long term.
it feels good to clean
it feels good to create things
it feels good to move around
and be in one’s body
in this very short time
in this very small space
compared to the vast infinity of the universe
shown to us by hubble and webb.

An Evolution of Mulder and Scully's Forehead Kisses
Irresistible-- Mulder sows the seeds for a forehead kiss while opening his arms for the second time to Scully:
Memento Mori-- Mulder's first forehead kiss, a victorious celebration of Scully's determination and courage:
Redux II-- A forehead kiss of sorts-- Mulder changed to cheek kisses on Scully's death bed; but changed back after her recovery:
Fight the Future-- Scully gives Mulder his first forehead kiss after reassurance that he needs her; but more were put on pause after Diana Fowley, insecurities, and clashes over a "normal life."
Per Manum-- Mulder reinitiates their ritual after the IVF failure; and Scully, touched, almost makes a further move before deciding not to reshake their newly shifting relationship (a lot was still left unsaid):
Post Amor Fati-- Mulder tells Scully she belongs with him, always; and Scully finally gives him a second forehead kiss, secure with a place forever at his side:
And, as we know, Millennium happened; and the rest is history~.
(Note: Mulder's forehead kisses are directly correlated to his journey with more open physical affection--post here-- while Scully's are linked to her waxing and waning security in their relationship.)

So how many times did we see Mulder and Scully admitted to the hospital?
Overall Total 🏥
Mulder: 14
Scully: 14
It’s a tie! 🥳
I stated earlier that this is not every time they were injured and not every time they went to the hospital. Instead, it is every time we saw them while they were admitted to the hospital as a patient.
As with everything, this can be calculated in different ways.
There were instances where we saw them go to the hospital for something temporary (Blood, Gesthemane) and there are episodes where they definitely went to hospital, but we didn’t see them (Zero Sum, Never Again).
This also doesn’t take into account variables like length of hospital stay or injury v. illness. It’s impossible to know the full circumstances in some cases and overall to estimate who spent the most *time* in the hospital.
All to say, this was just for fun and I acknowledge it is not comprehensive based on different criteria (so don’t come for me), but I do believe it is every time we see them on screen admitted in hospital gowns.

Saw your tags-- I didn't catch DD's extender antenna until the recent rewatch; but there was always this fantasy element about Home that struck a chord with Mulder, I think (and annoyed Scully)-- baseball memories with his sister, if he'd settle down, genetic muster, etc. It's almost as if he yearned for that normal life whereas Scully had family road trips and annoying older brothers falling out of her ears and was no longer charmed by the imagery. XDD
At the very least, it might be tempting for him to reach something of that sort with a broken motel door between he and Scully. Kind of like Dr. Berenbaum's UFO theory or Phoebe returning or his dreams in Amor Fati or a maybe-promise from Deep Throat to keep stringing him along-- the fantasy "come to life." He can get lured in like that, can Mr. Mulder.
Also, 100% think you're right: until Memento Mori, Scully was focused on other fathers... and then Maggie needs her to be the strong one, and the focus really shifts. o_o' (And not to a good place.)
I think he did idealize this whole happy family small town life cause his own childhood was cut short when Samantha was taken.
Scully had all of that. I mean not exactly like that, but like you said, her childhood was that "normal life". I think sometimes Mulder craves and fears it in equal parts. So maybe that really was going through his head. At least as a fleeting thought. I like that idea.
