Leah Williamson “I leave you alone for 5 minutes” park
left unsupervised II l.williamson
"don't run mia, walk!" you yelled in warning after your niece who sprinted off the moment leah helped her out of the car and her feet hit the ground. "did you ever walk at that age? you hardly sit still now love." your girlfriend teased, holding the door open for you.
"she was born with two left feet, i have fantastic coordination." you scoffed defensively, leah clearing her throat as you reached in and grabbed mia's backpack.
"chivalry isn't free babe, kiss please." the blonde puckered her lips as your own curled into a smile. "clingy." you teased, but rewarding her none the less with a gentle kiss as she beamed, practically skipping off after your niece.
"great, now i have to babysit two kids!" you sighed watching the defender scramble off into the playground after her four year old accomplice who'd been stuck to leah's side from the very first moment you'd introduced her to your entire family.
it was quite endearing really despite how much their alliance drove you up the wall at times, the pair having far too much fun ganging up on you. then when mia's mum, your eldest sister, was around it was an all out three on one mutiny that had you pulling your hair out at the best of times.
"leah! get her down!" you cupped your hands over your mouth, pointing toward mia who was squatted and readying herself to leap off the top of the jungle gym onto the sand below which was an easy six metre drop.
"nah she's got it!" your girlfriend dismissed with a flick of her hand, moving to stand beneath her with her arms open clearly ready to catch her as mia's face lit up.
"ready? one, two, three!" you winced and looked away as the girl leapt off and landed safely in leahs awaiting arms as you exhaled and shook your head, your phone starting to ring in your pocket.
leah now pushing mia on the swings as she let out an adorable string of giggles you stepped away to answer it, your sister asking if you were able to have mia for an extra few hours as she was caught up at work which you promised was more than fine.
doing shift work as a nurse and a single mum meant your niece had spent a good portion of each week in either your or your own mums care since she was a baby, but you wouldn't want it any other way.
you were pulled from your thoughts as there was a tug on your shirt, glancing down you met the bright green eyes of the four year old in question as you bid your sister goodbye and hung up.
"you alright shorty? where's leah?" you bent down to her level, smiling at the way she rolled her eyes. "not short!" she warned with a huff, poking harshly at your shoulder. "shorter than me." you teased, brushing away some sand from her knees.
"aunty lee needs help!" mia announced as now you frowned. "help playing a game? i told you mi sometimes aunty lee only looks cranky because she likes winning but really-" you started to explain your girlfriends horrid sore loser tenancies but mia shook her head, tugging on your shirt again.
"come on! you're so slow and she's stuck." mia interlaced her fingers with yours with a small groan, pulling you away with a slight stumble as you hurried to keep pace with her tiny legs which pumped furiously.
"oh my god." you gasped as you arrived where in fact your girlfriend did need help. "i got help aunty lee!" mia announced proudly, patting your girlfriends cheek fondly. "yeah you did, thanks buddy." leah mumbled, cheeks flushed red clearly embarrassed as you crossed your arms and jutted out your hip, cocking an eyebrow.
"i leave you alone for five minutes." you sighed with a shake of your head, leahs own dropping in shame. "it was an accident!" leah whined, kicking at the sand with a huff and a scowl, refusing to meet your eyes.
"what happened babe?" you grinned, leahs head somehow wedged between the bars of a makeshift shop counter. "she dared me, its her fault!" leah pointed toward your niece whose posture now mirrored your own, hip jutted out and arms crossed.
"no! aunty lee dared me to and i said no then she called me a little chicken." mia huffed as leahs cheeks blushed even brighter red as your niece stuck her tongue out at her and ran off to keep playing.
"so the four year old is the chicken for saying no to doing something very dumb that you, the twenty six year old adult then did to prove you weren't a chicken, and now you're stuck?" you recounted making sure you had the facts right, still keeping one eye on mia who was busy trying to build a snowman with the sand without much luck.
"no." leah mumbled again kicking at the ground and refusing to meet your eyes. "no?" you questioned, lips curling into a grin. "maybe." your girlfriend admitted quietly, gaze flickering up guiltily to meet your own.
"maybe?" you sung out teasingly as leah groaned. "for fuck sakes would you just help me!" leah whined, struggling to free herself with a grunt. "how the hell did you even fit your head in?" you shook your own with disbelief, moving around behind her and trying to help her pull herself free.
after five minutes of fruitless struggle you had to make the call. "babe no, please no!" leahs eyes widened as you pulled out your phone with an apologetic smile. "i have to love, there's no way we're getting you out of here without help." you dialed the right number as leah moaned, head dropping dejectedly as her body language slumped.
"stop filming me!" your girlfriend growled as you stood in front of her with a grin, mia latched onto your leg as you filmed the fireman cutting off the bars, a small crowd of onlookers gathered around from the neighboring houses at the sound of the sirens.
"lookin good williamson...and she's free!" you cheered happily, leahs face glowing bright red as others joined in the clapping, the firemen doing their best to disperse everyone as the captain gave leah a stern talking to about her actions.
"no i promise i learnt my lesson sir, i am so so sorry for wasting your time." your girlfriend apologised profusely as the older man nodded, calling his team away as they all clambered back into the truck and leah pulled her hood up over her head.
"we're leaving, right now." leah warned, grabbing your hand and dragging you off to the car as you held onto mia by the backpack on her shoulders.
"why the rush baby? i wanna see if you can fit your head through the monkey bars next." you teased causing your niece to giggle and your girlfriend to give you a venomous glare, snatching the keys from her pocket.
mia buckled in securely and leah for once on the receiving end of the four year olds teasing the blonde huffed and jammed the key in, starting up the car. "mia if i hear one more word from you the next time you sleepover you're sleeping under the stairs like harry potter!" leah whipped around and warned as the girls face paled and she was instantly silenced.
"you're gonna be a top mum one day babe." you smiled patting her knee as she narrowed her eyes at you and put the car into drive as you connected your phone to her speaker system.
shuffling the kids carpool playlist you know your niece liked leah groaned quietly as mia began to belt out the lyrics to five little monkeys.
"what are you smiling at?" leah asked suspiciously a few minutes later, glancing to you as she stopped at a red light finding your attention buried in your phone with a smirk. "the video of you getting cut out." you grinned as leahs face shifted into a glare.
"delete it!" her hand reached over to try and grab your phone as you pushed her away, warning her sternly there was a child in the back and she needed to keep two hands on the wheel.
"you better not have shown that to anyone." "i didn't." "good! keep it that way." "i haven't shown anyone but i did send it to a few people." "you what!" "yeah! just your mum, my mum, your cousins, my sisters, lia, beth, laura, viv, steph, jen, alex-"
"oh you are so sleeping on the lounge tonight."

could you do one where felix gets mad about something and shouts at reader then feels bad
yes! I love angst to fluff <3
I hope you enjoy xx
pairing: felix catton x fem! reader
warnings: use of y/n, angst to fluff, felix yelling, sort of toxic relationship, miscommunication, jealous!felix, established relationship. not proof read
a/n: sorry for being MIA, I’m back xx
☙☙☙☙
You and Felix weren’t getting along this week. You couldn’t understand why he was being so difficult and defensive. It was annoying you and to be completely honest, you’d had enough.
So you decided to ignore him until things cooled down. Unbeknownst to you, this made the situation worse. Felix didn’t like when you ignored him. If you were dating him then you were his. Plain and simple.
So when you weren’t responding to his texts or calls, he came knocking on your door.
“Y/n,” he called from your dorm room door. “Y/n open up,” Felix said urgently.
You opened the door and looked up at Felix. He looked upset but also angry. “Hi Felix, what’s up?” You said shortly.
“What’s up?” Felix scoffed. “You’ve been ignoring me all week, y/n. And I’ve come to see if you’re okay and all I get is ‘what’s up?’”
You gesture for him to come inside, so you aren’t fighting in the hallway. “Well you are the one who’s been acting all moody lately,” you say, closing the door.
Felix turned to face you, “I have not!” He said, crossing his arms and pouting like a little boy.
“You’re proving my point, god you always act like a spoiled brat when you don’t get enough attention!” You snap.
This made Felix really angry,
“Hey! At least I wasn’t flirting with the bartender at the pub two nights ago on our date. You are so needy for attention, you’re worse than Farliegh. It’s embarrassing,” he snapped back at you.
If words cut, then you would had needed stitches. Felix’s words slashed through you like a knife and your eyes filled with tears.
“Take that back,” you said lowly, voice cracking.
As soon as Felix said the words he regretted them. His heart broke seeing you so upset. Felix didn’t even know why he said it. He was just jealous for the bartender flirting with you. You didn’t even do anything wrong. And it wasn’t right to throw that in your face.
“Y/n, I’m sorry—,” he began. But you shook your head and stormed past him.
Felix called after you and followed you down to the court yard. “Y/n wait, please,” he grabbed your arm.
You turned around with tears in your eyes. “Let me apologize. I fucked up I’m sorry,” Felix said to you softly.
“Just so you know, I did not flirt with the bartender. And I am not an attention whore,” you defended, a tear streaming down your face.
Felix quickly wiped it away. “I know, I know. What I said was mean and untrue. I’m sorry,” he said. Felix pulled you into a hug and kissed your forehead.
“Forgive me?” Felix asked softly. You nodded into chest and a smile appeared on his list.
“I love you, Y/n,” Felix said softly. You pulled away to look at his face. “I love you too, Felix.”
A small smile appeared on your face. “That’s my girl. My favorite smile,” Felix grinned.
“Let me make it up to you,” he smiled, taking your hand and kiss in your knuckles.
You nodded and the two of you spent the entire night in his dorm. Felix between your legs the entire time.

ok about goal hockey!chris
can we have a part 2 with reader actually fighting hart's girlfriend after she said something about chris at a party and reader wins please LMAO
goal part three // hockey!chris
summary: the reader finds herself in a fight as she defends her boyfriend, chris
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s safe to say that Chris has had a great season. Whether or not he wants to go pro after college, scouts have been at almost every game with their eyes on him. He’s had meetings with some coaches, hoping they can convince him to leave his friends and family and go wherever he is wanted.
I have done nothing but support any decision he plans on making. I know he could thrive in the NHL, and I also know that he would love it if he would let himself. But it’s understandable that he may not want to leave his family. He makes a point every day that he doesn’t want to leave me either.
Tonight’s game is against Harvard.
More importantly, against Hart.
The last time we played Harvard, Chris fought Hart. Even though we won that game, Chris has made a point over and over again that he does not want to deal with Hart’s ‘pathetic comments and even more pathetic hockey skills.’
Chris usually goes MIA on game days, which I totally understand. He puts so much pressure on himself and prefers to take his time on his own and focus on his own routine before he takes the ice. However, it is tradition for us to see each other right before the game, but Chris prefers to not be distracted in the morning or throughout the day.
I threw on Chris’ alternate jersey to wear to the game, along with a pair of leggings and matching Nike dunks to tie everything together. When I made it to the rink, I hung out with my friends before heading to the outside of the locker room to wish my boyfriend good luck before his game.
I hear the sound of men cheering and chanting, signaling their journey to the ice.
I find my boyfriend towards the end of the crowd of guys, waving to him with a smile before he runs over to me in his skates.
“Hi baby,” he smiles, scooping me up in all his padding. He’s double his own size with all of that on him. “Thank you for coming.”
“I’m at every game, Chris,” I remind him.
He shrugs after putting me back on the ground. “It still makes me happy knowing that you’re here with me.”
I place a soft kiss on his lips before pushing his hair out of his face. “You gonna give me a goal today?”
He nods confidently. “Of course.”
He peeks at his jersey on my body, smirking to himself before holding my cheeks and pressing a needy kiss to my lips. My lips part, granting him more access. His hands quickly find my waist, pulling me closer. My arms rest over his shoulders, my fingers twirling the curls at the base of his neck.
I’m not sure how long we’ve been standing there making out, but it had to be too long. Chris’ coach’s voice rings in my ears.
“Sturniolo!” he calls, pulling Chris back. “Get on the ice!”
Chris presses a kiss to my cheek before walking away. “Doesn’t she look cute in my jersey, Coach?”
A grin grows on my face, especially when I see his coach smack the back of Chris’ head, scolding him.
I find myself a seat in the stands next to my friends and some of the other girlfriends on the team. Once the game starts, we’re all cheering for our respective friends and boyfriends.
Some time during the first period I hear a few girls with some snarky comments.
“Could they be any more obnoxious?” the laugh behind us. “I mean, they’re cheering for their boyfriend’s who are playing like shit. They’re too clueless about the game to not know when to shut your mouth.”
My eyebrows furrow at the sound of them. I’ve been to every game since Chris and I became friends. He’s taught me everything I need to know, and what does it matter when or how I cheer for him. I’m here to show my support, and that’s exactly what I’m doing.
When I watch Hart snipe a shot past our goalie, everything makes sense.
I hear that same voice behind me shout, “Let’s go baby!” as she jumps up.
That bitch.
Chris skates in front of us as they set up another play, rolling his eyes at Hart’s girlfriend in the process. Chris’ team gets set up, trailing closely behind Harvard. In seconds, my boyfriend is speeding down the ice and firing a shot at Harvard’s goalie when he least expects it. I’m on my feet before the shot even goes in, but when it hits the back of the net, I’m shouting for Chris.
“Yeah, baby!” I cheer out. He grins at me as he holds his stick in the air, skating towards his teammates.
“That was pure luck,” I hear from behind me. “If our defensemen had beat him there, there’s no way that shot would have gone in.”
This is the dumbest claim I’ve ever heard. ‘If our defensemen had beat him there…’
Yeah, and they didn’t, so my boyfriend scored.
The same stupid comments continue to fly out of her clueless mouth as the game goes on.
The score stayed at 1-1 for another period, until Matt scored a goal of his own. I jumped up in support of my boyfriend’s brother, but my excitement grows when an announcer says that Chris assisted that goal.
“Yeah, Chris!”
Laughter comes from behind me. “This girl is too stupid! Her boyfriend didn’t even score that goal!”
I turn around slowly, an obvious look of annoyance on my face. “Maybe your brain is fogged from all that puff puffing you’re doing back here with your friends, but Chris assisted Matt’s shot. You say a lot about thinking I don’t know anything about hockey, but anyone with a brain would be able to figure out why I was cheering.”
My best friend pulls me back down before the situation grows into something more, possibly worse than it already is. “Just ignore her,” she says.
That suggestion is only growing more difficult as she’s shit talking my own boyfriend while she sits only a few feet away. I’m starting to understand why Chris decided to fight Hart. I’m having a hard time holding myself back from his girlfriend.
I sit on my hands and fold my lips into my mouth to keep myself from reacting in any way that could make me or Chris look bad. I have no idea if there are any scouts for him today, and I can’t risk throwing away an opportunity for him.
“You okay?” Chris mouths from across the ice. I only nod in response.
The game ends with another win for us. 2-1. It was a close game, but we won, and that’s all that matters. I stand from my seat and clap for the team before heading out of the rink before Hart’s idiotic girlfriend can say anything else to get under my skin.
I stand outside the locker room with the other girls as I always do, this time, with the Harvard girlfriends purposefully following us on our way. I stand silently, trying to ignore them as I wait for Chris to come out of the locker room, but Hart’s girlfriend’s whispers to her friends while her eyes are on me are getting harder to ignore.
“Sophie, we all know that Hart kicked his ass once, and he is able to do it again.”
So her name’s Sophie.
Are they forgetting the fact that Chris won that fight?
“How cute is she, wearing her boyfriend’s jersey?” one of her other friend’s pitches in. “I think it’s got some of Sturniolo’s blood on it from that fight!”
“Are you guys done?” I ask, my tone snippy. “You shouldn’t even be down here. It’s for our students and our players. Shouldn’t you be comforting your boyfriend’s after that loss?”
Sophie laughs at my comment. “I’m pretty sure this is for anyone. Maybe if you weren’t making out with your boyfriend any time you were down here, you’d see that fans of both teams have full access to this space.”
Before I have a chance to argue, she takes a step forward with venom in her tone. “Too busy occupying the slutty puck bunny role to notice anything else around you.”
I don’t even have time to process my actions before I feel a sting in my hand.
Oh my god.
“You bitch,” she says, holding her cheek.
My friends surround me as I stand in shock. I just slapped Hart’s girlfriend.
That joke about Chris wanting me to fight his girlfriend just came true. Maybe this doesn’t count as a fight though. We can just label this as a little… scrap?
Nevermind.
Now Sophie is kicking me everywhere and yanking on my hair.
“Hey, hey, hey!” I hear Chris’ voice as he runs over to the group of girls.
“Ow!” I yell out, smacking my hand around with my eyes closed.
I’m pulled back by my shirt, opening my eyes to find Chris dragging me away.
He pulls me into the locker room with his jaw clenched. It’s pretty sexy, honestly.
“Are you fucking kidding me?!” he shouts.
Okay… Maybe not sexy when he’s yelling at me.
“What the fuck are you doing?!” he adds.
“She was calling me names and-”
“No!” he interrupts me. “This is fucking ridiculous. I watched you slap her!”
“You fought Hart-”
“In a hockey game!”
“She called me a slutty puck bunny!”
“I don’t care! I was talking to the Bruins coach when you were fighting some girl over a stupid comment!”
Fuck.
“You were?” I ask, my voice softer as I’m filled with guilt.
He tears off his jersey and his padding and throws it into his bag. “Yeah, I had to excuse myself and throw away that opportunity before he realized you were wearing my jersey.”
“I’m sorry, Chris,” I apologize sincerely.
He ignores me as he finishes packing up. I sit silently on a bench and wait for him to finish.
He sighs as he throws his bag over his shoulder. “Are you okay?”
I nod. Nothing really matters about my situation now that I know about Chris talking to the Bruins coach.
“I’m really sorry, Chris.”
“I know. I should have listened to what happened between you guys before I lashed out,” he confesses. “I’m gonna call the coach tomorrow and see if he wants to get lunch to hopefully make up for this.”
I frown. “I ruined this for you–”
“You didn’t,” he assures me. “It’s gonna be fine. I promise.”
I follow him as we walk out of the locker room and to my car. He turns around with a cheesy grin.
“That was a good slap. Rang through the hall,” he compliments me.
I roll my eyes, shoving his shoulder. “Shut up.”

yourusername there's a lot to announce so hold on to something. the reason i've been MIA the past few months was the world chess championship. i've been isolating myself with mentors in a hotel to study and practice for my matches to prepare for the championship. a huge thank you to all the people that have helped me, motivated me and encouraged me my whole career to never give up on myself, they're the reason i can call myself a chess world champion now. a special thank you to magnus_carlsen who didn't defend his title this year and was able to guide me throughout our sessions together, i wouldn't be where i am today without your guidance. another massive thank you to my fiancé and the love of my life, charles. Mi corazón (my heart), you've been so patient with me the last months, kept calling me despite my heavy mood swings and motivated me as much as you could. i'm so sorry i couldn't attend any of your races this year so far, but i promise i won't leave you alone for any longer. especially now that we have a big adventure to join soon, parenthood, you won't get rid of us so easily! te amo, gracias ❤️ (i love you, thank you)

"Jason, would you please take your kid this weekend. Jude misses you."
"You know I cant."
"Jason please."
"It's dangerous."
That was the last conversation you had with Jason before he went no contact. A phone call where you asked him to be in his daughter's life. Your daughters life.
You had made countless calls to Roy, trying to see if he had any contact with Jason. Alas, he told you no.
Jason's family had been all over when you told them, Bruce even bought you an apartment that was closer to the Manor since you wouldn't move in with them. He always tried to be helpful. They all did, but Judith isn't their child. She's yours. They shouldn't have to take care of her where Jason was lacking.
When you told him you were pregnant, he had promised to always be there. But promises are just words.
Around the time of your due date, he had been doubting if this was a good idea. He was doubting if having your daughter was a good idea. After Judith was brought home, you and Jason started having fights, fights that ultimately led him to move out. He was still present in her life after that. When she was around three, his visits became spotty. You knew about his work as Red Hood, so you understood.
When he missed her birthday party and then didn't show up on her actual birthday, was when you went ballistic. You called him up and screamed your throat raw.
Judith never once complained. Well, at first, she gave out the occasional, "Where's daddy?" "Can we see daddy?" "I miss daddy." And you would have to try and explain as to why she couldn't see him. Even though you yourself didn't understand.
But she was usually quiet about it, never once questioning his actions. She loved her father, no matter if he didn't love her.
×
"Momma." Judith loudly whispered, trying to wake you up.
"Mmm, yes, sweetheart?" You groaned, furrowing your head into your pillow.
"Breakfast!" She excitedly asked of you, climbing up onto you.
"What d'you want?" You croaked, rubbing at your eyes.
"Pancake!"
"Alright.."
Judith let out a squeal as you picked her up and carried her into the kitchen, setting her down at the breakfast bar. You reached into your cabinets and pulled out the needed supplies, then grabbed for the pancake mix and began making the batter.
A knock on the door caused you to stop mixing. Both you and Judith sent a look over to where the front door was.
"Stay right there." You told her, walking over to the door and looking out of the peephole. Dick's face is what greeted you, his dark hair falling in his face, causing him to push it away.
"Dick?" You opened the door. The older man just gave you a big smile and a hug. "Hello, Y/N!"
"Hey..."
"Can I come in?"
"Of course, I'm making breakfast."
You moved to the side so that he could walk in. Immediately, he walked into your kitchen, sneaking up behind Judith and putting his hands over her eyes.
"Guess who.." He sang out.
"Uncle Dick!" She yelled.
"Good job, Judy Jayne!" He chuckled, leaning in and pressing a kiss to the back of her head. "What are we having?"
"Panc-"
"Pancakes!" Judith yelled, interrupting you. "Pink ones!"
"Since when did we choose pink?" You asked, going back to stirring the batter.
"They always have to be pink," Dick defended "and have glitter on them.
"Ohh, momma do we have glitter?" Judith asked.
"We should have some left over." You responded, talking about the edible glitter that she had on her birthday cake last year.
"Yay!" Dick and Judith smiled together.
"Will you be joining us Dick?" You asked, putting food dye in the batter.
Judith stared up at the man with a wide smile, begging him to say yes. He cast a sorry look down at her, "I can't, I've got to get to work."
"Aww." Judith pouted. The both of you knew that she would be over it in two seconds.
"So why stop by?" You questioned, setting down the raspberries that were in your hand and looking at Dick.
"Well...we need to talk."
Wordlessly, you walked back out of the kitchen, Dick following right behind you.
"Whats up?"
Dick sent you an anxious look before hesitantly speaking, "Um, Jason's back in Gotham..."
You stared up at him, eyes wide for a few seconds before your face returned to expressionless.
"Very well then." You spoke. "Who cares?"

Professor Donna and a stabby Mia in a tense stand off over MC
Okay, lessgooo
TW: mild violence
You were looking lost in a small corner at the college library, searching for a Botany book for your next test. Ideally, this would have never even been required as Donna usually lends you her books all the time.
But your girlfriend is right now in her Professor mode, buried neck deep in grading. It's the exam time, and that means your girlfriend is most time either invigilating the exams or is checking papers.
You sighed, keeping another book back at the shelf. You understand your girlfriend has responsibilities, of course. But it's just been a couple of months since you two started to seriously date. So to have your time cut short so soon has you a little miffed.
It also doesn't help that last time you nagged Donna to get some break, she became a little...snappy at you.
I am busy! I have responsibilities !I cannot be with you all the time!
Those words spoken in Donna's harsh voice made you flinch. You had wanted to retort that no, you just want the overburdened professor to have a break! It's okay if she doesn't spend time with you! But no, instead you just stupidly nodded your head, and left her.
And here you are hiding away in library. Donna has called you thrice by now, probably to apologise, but you just don't want to talk to her right now.
You'll probably end up crying.
Before you can start sniffling at your pathetic state, you heard a rustle behind you. You turn around, and there stood Mia Winters, the local sorority head and treasurer of the student council. And she was leering down at you with murder in her eyes.
You gulped, stepping back. Something doesn't feel right.
"Hello. How can I help you?"
Mia only sighed at you in what looks like pity.
"I wish it didn't have to come to this. Why can't you make the correct choice for once?"
You have absolutely no idea what she's saying. But you get this deja vu feeling, as if this has happened before.
"I have no idea who you are, but I do feel like saying that the correct choice is not necessarily the right choice."
That seems to be the wrong thing to say, because Mia, no kidding, took a knife out and waved at you.
"And this is exactly why this keeps happening, every single time. You always choose her."
Before you could ask who, or run away for that matter, Mia lunged for you. You let out a loud scream, ducking down in hopes it will somehow save you.
But the knife never came for you. Instead there was a loud crash, as if someone was shoved against the library shelf. You heard the books clattering down on floor.
You opened your eyes slowly, and saw a very angry Botany professor holding Mia against the library shelf in a chokehold.
"You fucking bitch. Ti ucciderò una volta per tutte!"
If you thought this morning Donna was angry, this Donna was downright furious. Her pale was was twisted in a murderous rage, just seconds away from killing Mia.
Shit, you have to do something. You cannot have your girlfriend be jailed for murder of a student! Even if she's just defending you!
You hurriedly got up, then slowly approached Donna, who was now tightening her squeeze on Mia's neck.
"Donna, let her go. She's not worth it."
Donna in response squeezed harder, making Mia kick and thrash against her.
"Oh no, cara mia. She tried to kill you! Take you away from me!"
You have a feeling that Donna knows more then she is letting you on. That somehow this has happened before. But you let it go for now.
You place a soft hand on your girlfriend's tense shoulder, trying again.
"Please. If you do this, you'll be taken away from me. People will accuse you, babe. Let her go! I promise, we'll sort it out later!"
Those words seems to get to her, as Donna blinked a few times to get her bearings back. Then with a frustrated cry, she threw Mia down on the floor, with a spitting warning.
"Consider yourself lucky that my girl is so compassionate. Even though you don't deserve a single ounce of it!"
For a moment, just for a moment, guilt flashed on Mia's eyes. But it was soon take over by fear, as she scarmbled away from the scene.
That just leaves the two of you, alone.

Intro to Romantic Literature: Prologue
Professor!Terzo x TA!Reader (pretty gen for this part, but the main fic describes fem parts)
CW: implied smut, MDNI, 18+ only please, romantic tension, professor Terzo is a tease ✨
Word Count: 1.2k
I have been working on a Professor Terzo fic for MONTHS now, literally months. I'm getting close to the end, and this prologue popped in my head at 5 o'clock this morning, so I had to scribble it down. Plus, I think it'll make a cute little teaser 🥰 enjoy!
Intro to Romantic Literature: here!
Tumblr media
Every day feels like a big day as you barrel towards the end of your degree. The pressure of arranging your final portfolio of works, defending final arguments, typing papers... it's all really starting to get to you.
𝘐𝘵'𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯, the bittersweet thought crosses your mind. You'd finally be done with all this stress and move onto the ease of a consistent career, but you'd also be leaving behind the best job you've ever known. Leaving 𝘩𝘪𝘮 behind.
In fact, you're so lost in your thoughts, collecting and organizing papers and files so efficiently--you could do it in your sleep at this point--that you don't notice him staring at you, the pained expression on your professor's face that would tell you it eats him up to see you like this: so stressed you're ready to snap.
He reads you like the many leaves and pages studied in his romantic literature class, like a poem written just for him. You recite your feelings to him daily without knowing it; it's in the way you walk, the way you hold yourself, the way you tilt your head when you rest the tip of your pen on your bottom lip, lost in thought on the class discussion at hand.
Sauntering into his office, you drop your shoulders as you flop into his soft leather chair, taking a deep breath before sorting papers accordingly: lesson plans in the bottom right desk drawer, books on the bookshelf, papers to be graded in the third slot of the black wire rack, anything needing immediate attention left squarely on his desk in plain sight.
"Grazie, stellina," his voice snaps you back to reality, immediately causing your cheeks to flush at the nickname. 'Little star' is what it means. It makes you feel like a teacher's pet, which would've bothered you if it had been anyone else; however, it makes you feel special to earn attention from him. "La mia brava ragazza, you always do such a good job for me." He leans in the doorway, running a hand through his graying locks.
"Thank you, Professor Emeritus," it comes just above a whisper, and you look down at the desk briefly before standing to make your exit.
"Ah, ah, ah, not so fast," he murmurs, catching your waist as you try to pass him in the little room. Spinning you around, he pins the back of your thighs to the desk before leaving some space between you... Just enough space to be respectful, but a clear indication that you're not getting out of this so easily.
You're so caught up in the intoxicating scent of his expensive cologne that you hardly hear him when he asks how you've been. "Hm?" you reply, playing naïve.
"Tesoro, please, I can't have my favorite student looking as distracted as you've been lately," he starts, but you interrupt him.
"I'm not your student, I'm your teaching assistant," you remind him with a light hearted smile.
"You are still learning things, no?" he cocks one thick black eyebrow in that way that always makes your heart skip a beat, his intense white eye putting you in checkmate.
"I suppose so," you whisper, looking down at his ridiculously shiny loafers.
His fingers under your chin direct your stare back up, "What has you so distant, eh? Would you like to talk about it, cara? Confess your sins... So to speak." He winks at you, earning a small huff of a laugh from you.
"What are you, the Pope?" you joke.
His eyebrows quirk in an unreadable way, but he stays silent, urging an answer from you.
"I've just been really stressed with school," you finally concede, letting out a breath you'd been holding.
"Have I put too much on you?" he worries about the workload he's given you cutting into your schedule.
"No!" you look up at him almost desperately, "No, I enjoy this position so much. It's everything else. The final papers, getting good grades, trying to graduate." You choke on the last few words; it was something you'd been emotional about the last few weeks, plus your professor had your guard down.
"Don't cry, tesoro," he commands softly, but it's already too late as tears flood your waterline. Without a second thought, he cups your face in his hands, wiping away anything that threatens to spill across your cheeks. Wrapping a protective arm around your waist, he pulls you flush to his chest before fishing a handkerchief from his pocket, because of course he has one, and dabbing softly under your eyes before offering the piece of silk to you.
"Thank you," you stutter, clutching the cloth in your hand. Hesitantly, you glance up at him before laying your head on his chest, folding your arms under his in a hug.
His hand on your waist falls to caress the small of your back while the other cradles your head, while you regulate your breathing. You can't say for certain, but you think you feel a whisper of a kiss placed on the crown of your head. Holding each other like that for however long, you don't know, but when his fingertips gently start to massage your scalp, you let out an involuntary moan.
Your cheeks blush pink again, meeting a much more heated look in his mismatched eyes. As his warm hands move to grasp at your hips and waist, suddenly all of your worries melt away, as the only thing you can think about is him hoisting you up on the perfectly organized little desk and having his way with you, your panties tossed aside in his office chair, and you laid back and arched up into him while he works every tension from your needy body.
Your fantasy fades away when Professor Emeritus's hand cups your chin again, fingers pressing into your jawbone in a dominant way to lift your face to his. Your gaze wanders to his plump lips... how many times you've thought of having them on you.
His thumb gently strokes your cheek as he leans impossibly closer, and one of your hands smoothes over his firm chest.
But before he makes a move that he can't come back from, he presses the pad of his thumb firmly against your supple lips, stopping himself from crossing the line, even though he so badly wants to... wants you.
He gives you a solemn nod before putting some distance between your bodies, "I hope you're feeling a little better, after our, uh... chat, stellina."
"Uh huh..." is all you manage to breathe out before straightening up. "Yes, sir."
Offering a reassuring squeeze to your shoulder, he carefully presses a kiss to your cheek before sending you on your way.
Tonight, you'll tell yourself that you misread the situation, that he was only trying to be a kind and caring professor, but somewhere deep down inside you, under lock and key, you know that isn't true. Especially because you felt something hard graze against your hip as you squeezed past him and out into the hallway, but you put that thought far behind you as you head back to your dorm.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.
A girl walks into a poker hall in Florida.
She joins the game.
She wins. Everyone asks, ‘well, how’d that happen?’
Girl says, ‘I got magic powers that tell me when you’re lying.’
Wide-eyed, they all ask, ‘really?’
She says, ‘yep, and now you owe me fifty grand.’
They all laugh and easily hand over the money.
And then they try to kill her.
Okay, sorry, that one isn’t all that funny.
What about this one?
A girl walks into a diner in Texas at two in the morning.
She’s scared, tired, and hungry. She solves most of these problems by ordering the biggest burger on the menu and pouring five shots of Crown Royal in her milkshake. And because she’s a lie detector and a lightweight, it all goes straight to her head.
She starts to tell the guy next to her about her little situation in the poker hall. Guy’s nice, sympathetic, asks enough follow up questions to make him appear interested.
And then he goes and lies to her.
Girl says, ‘please don’t kill me, sir!’
And the guy says, in a gruff and very serious voice, ‘I’m not gonna kill you, I’m DEA.’
Oh, and, like, this guy is smokin’ hot. Like just come off the grill hot. Like you pick him up and you burn your fingers – ay, caliente! Like danger and sex all wrapped up into one. Oof, Mama Mia and the rest of the cast in Greece, y’know what I’m saying?
So, DEA agent wants to help.
They flirt, they fight, and just as it seems, this one thing is going well, this only bright light in her life may actually hold a candle, she knows what she has to do.
She TASERS his ass. And all six feet of hotness drops, like a sack of potatoes.
Girl drives off, knowing he’s better off without her.
. . . oh, you were expecting a punchline?
Sorry, folks, this ain’t that kinda story. That girl just ain’t that kind of girl.
Truth is . . .
Funny little word, truth. It’s implicit that truth and trust come in the same bag. When you tell someone you trust them, you expect them to tell you the truth. Is it possible to have one without the other? If the truth is what we believe it to be, then how fragile is our trust?
If you taser someone and leave them literally by the side of the road, what have you broken? Their trust or their understanding about the truth of who you are?
But what about –
“Okay, that’s enough philosophizing to my ten-year-old. I gotta get her ready for school then I gotta vacuum this rug before the day rush. Scoot.” Maria knocks your boots off the end of the bright red couch in the lobby of the Motel 6 on route 22 and you grin sheepishly up at her.
“Aw, c’mon, Mare, this is good for the kid. She’s learning so much.” You glance over at Maria’s daughter, Rio, ready to have her defend your proselytizing – when you meet her heated and leveled glare. You’ve never seen such a small child radiate such annoyance.
“Your jokes suck.”
With a scowl, she stomps to her feet and lets her mother lead her off down the hall to one of the other empty hotel rooms, glaring at you over her shoulder.
You wave a hand to her as you go, smiling flatly. “Thank you, Mare! I owe you one! And thank you so much, little girl, I’ll be here all week.” You dig into your coat pocket and pull out your half-way empty packet of smokes. “Everyone’s a friggin’ critic.”
“Hey, you there! You can’t be smoking in here!”
Birdie, another maid whom you promised to stay out of her way if she kept your “hideout” in one of the second floor empty rooms a secret, snaps at you over the counter. The hotel phone at the front desk rings and she answers it with one hand as she shoos you off. “Go on, take it outside!”
Groaning, your body aching from the toll of driving forty-eight hours straight, you stand up, the unlit smoke between your lips. “Alright, alright, I’m going. Might die before I get there, but I’m going.”
But the other maid barks at you again, asking your name.
“Monologue McQueen, that’s you, right?” She has the red handle pressed against her shoulder. “You’ve got a phone call.”
The toll of outrunning the law and the cartel had taken its turn on Baby as well and the call is no doubt the mechanic calling with an update. You could have kissed Maria all over her face when she let you in at midnight and slipped you a key to a room at the end of the complex. She did owe you one after you proved her brother didn’t kill his boss – but that’s a story for another time.
“Just send it up to my room, alright, Birdie? I’ll take it there. Thank you.”
You trudge out of the hotel lobby in the bright Colorado sunlight and take a deep breath. Colorado is markedly different from Texas. More mountains. More green. Less roads . . . and even less mouth-watering DEA agents.
You stretch till you hear something crack and you shake out your head. Things had been going pretty well since Texas too. Made some money here and there – legally this time. You still hadn’t decided what to do with the fifty grand in your trunk (which had since been removed while Baby went to the doctor’s) but having it nearby was nice. A parachute if things got bad – or worse-r than they had been. But, counting no more run-ins with any government men or better yet, a complete lack of presence from the cartel – it seemed like everything that had happened since Florida was finally fading into the background.
You light the cigarette as you bounce up the concrete steps. Using Maria’s master key, you let yourself into the small dark room that looked heaven-sent after days on the road. Dark wood paneled walls, orange carpet, a lime-green tiled bathroom, a rug that could make you dizzy if you stared at it for too long. Perfect. And you can smoke all you want. You breathe out into the low sunlit room and smoke wavered white then gray as it swam through the shadows.
Sighing and realizing you should probably eat soon if you were going to pick up Baby, you toss off your jacket onto the bed. There’s a blinking red light over the phone as you pick up the receiver and sit down on the mattress.
“Yellow.” You slip your cigarette into the ashtray and wait.
“Hey there,” the deep masculine voice drawls, “it’s Baby Cow Eyes. How’ve ya been?”
Either your knees buckled or the mattress dropped you but you hit the ground with a thump.
“What was that?”
Eyes level with the window, the glass covered by a gauzy white curtain, you inch down to the floor, one vertebrae at a time, the plastic phone shoved tightly against your ear. You think you can hear him breathing on the other line but that might be your own frantic panting. Shitshitshit.
“Nothing,” you mutter. If you can get underneath the window, he might pass your room by. “Nothing at all.”
“Why are you whispering? I’m not literally in the room.”
The phone cradled by your shoulder, you slither, one arm at a time along that nauseating carpet, as far as the cord will allow. This is perfectly normal behavior for an adult woman.
“And what room would that be?” You breathe, softly. “Huh, Agent Pena?” You think you see a flutter of movement on the other side of the window and you jerk back against the door, toes clenched, eyes shut, and bottom lip bitten to the point of pain.
“I don’t know.”
Your eyes pop open. “What?”
The bastard actually laughs.
“If you know what hotel I’m at,” you hiss, jerking the curtain to the side from your protected corner to peer out into the open hallway, “why aren’t you kicking down doors and swinging around that big, thick badge?”
“Why do you think?” You think you can hear the chunk of a gas pump turning off.
“Psychological warfare. You’re gonna nuke the motel from space. Who knows?
You had to drop off Baby at the mechanics and one of his crew gave you a ride back to the motel. That was this morning and since then, not another car had pulled into the motel’s parking lot. Crouching on your knees, you spare a glance into the parking lot below. Still empty.
Over the phone, Javi’s sigh is garbled. “That sounds like a lot of work, sweetheart.”
Your fingers tightened around the plastic. “But you are coming for me, right?”
He inhales and, in the space, you hear the car door slam shut. “That’s right.”
You put the receiver against your chest and, as silent as a church mouse, you mouth:
F U C K
“You still there?” The vibrations are muffled in your shirt.
“Where are you?” you ask, shoving the phone back against your ear. You scan the parking lot one more time just in case of a surprise attack. “At least do the sporting thing and give me a head start.”
Javi huffs over the rumble of the engine as it overturns. “Oh, hell no. You got your one and only head start two days ago. When you tased me.”
“Okay, see, you sound mad about that. My concern about psychological warfare doesn’t seem so crazy now, does it?”
“I’m not mad.” You could almost picture the frown, dark eyebrows drawn in, glaring at the phone like it had personally offended him.
You grimace. “How’s your face?”
There’s a pause, as if he wasn’t expecting that question.
“It’s fine. Had worse,” he grumbles. “Barely even feel it any more.”
“When you growl like that, it makes me feel like you’re still mad.”
“I’m not –,” He cuts himself off and you grin. If you were keeping a tally, which you definitely weren’t, then you just got a little tick next to Javi’s zero. “What are you doing out in Colorado?”
“This feels like entrapment.”
“I’ve got about eight hours ahead of me,” he sighs and you can see his broad fingers tighten over the steering wheel. “This isn’t entrapment, it’s conversation.”
Eight hours. That gave you enough time to get Baby back and . . .
Unless he is . . .
F U U U U CK
See, there’s one little problem with your gift and the government goon is toeing dangerously close to finding it out. Shitdumb, bad fucking luck.
“A conversation, huh?” You rub your forehead with your fingers. This is going to end so badly. “Alright. You start. How did you find me?”
“Mhmm, I was hoping we’d play twenty questions.”
You pull back and stare at the holes in the receiver. Was he flirting with you?
But he continues, “After I came to and found my phone shattered, another thoughtful parting gift from you, I think it was safe to say you were spooked. Route 22 was the closest highway. Giving your headstart, I had a guess where you might be.”
“So, what, you started calling all the motels along route 22?”
“You mentioned you liked places with pools. Started with those first.”
Parts of that night were very clear in your mind – the way he looked at you at the counter, the way he chuckled, his hands on you when he hauled you off the back of Baby’s hood.
When he said you were smart, funny, resourceful.
However, there were other things that were decidedly not as clear.
“I never said that.”
“Yes, you did. You talked about pools when you held me hostage for an hour relaying your life’s story.”
You scowl and stand up, uneasily convinced he wasn’t about to burst your door down. You loop the cord through your fingers. “I said I stayed in places with pools because they needed a maid, not because I liked going there.”
Again, Javi laughs, deep and relaxed, and the world flares brightly for a minute.
“Sweetheart, you and I both know there isn’t a goddamn thing on this earth that could make you do something you didn’t want to do.”
For a second you could see it. Clear in your mind. Bright, gold sunlight. Open road, warm desert sand, the roar of Baby’s engine –
– his hand over your knee and he laughs –
“You know, I don’t think I ever said sorry about your face.” You swallow, sitting back on the bed and taking up your cigarette again. You take three long puffs in the silence, appreciative that there is quiet to steady your nerves. The room smells like clean cotton and ash. “And . . . I’m sorry for tasing you. You were nothing but nice to me and I . . . I shouldn’t have done that.”
Leather squeaks as if he’s adjusting in his seat, the engine humming over the line.
“I got close to a woman with a history of cutting and running. You wouldn’t be alive right now if you weren’t a little bit . . . shifty.”
Despite his familiar teasing, you glance at the window, fearing something else scarier than your DEA shadow. From the beginning, he said he wasn’t going to hurt you or kill you and he hadn’t lied about that.
It had been too long since you felt the barbs of that night in Florida but now you can feel them prickle under your skin.
“S-s-shifty, huh?” You can’t fight the sting in the back of your throat. You wrap an arm over your waist and clutch the phone tighter. “The way you say it, it sounds like a compliment.”
“It is.”
“So you’re not mad about your face?”
He sighs and you swear you can hear his teeth grinding.
“I’m not mad about my face, I’m mad you got the drop on me, alright? Shoulda seen that comin’ a mile away.”
You scoff. “Hey, pal, that shit’s original. No one expects the secret taser.”
“How many of those do you have?”
“Why? Planning on making them standard issue?”
“No, sweetheart, we have actual guns for that. I just need to know how many to search for.”
“And give up my one defense? Now that wouldn’t be very shifty of me.”
He chuckles again, the sound pulling a smile from you. “Smart, babygirl, smart.”
With the cigarette between your fingers, you kick off your boots and they land with two loud thuds.
“What was that? Sounds like you’re moving.”
“Darn, you caught me.” You lean back, your spine propped up by the scratchy pillows, your feet stretched out in front of you. With the hum of Javi’s car, as tinny and distant as it might be, you can almost picture yourself in the seat next to him. He’d have the windows down, enjoying the air in the late afternoon. Maybe the radio is on. And he's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damn town. You flex your toes, enjoying the warmth of the sun on your arm, your thigh. “I’m sneaking out the back right now. I’m hunkering down and slipping into the night.”
“Ah, I’ve been thinking of all the ways I can say this to you: bullshit. It’s 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Try again.”
Your heart squeezes, but in a good way, like you’ve swallowed bubbles and they’re making your lungs all jittery.
You glance at the empty spot next to you, looking for his jeans, his wide hands.
“You’ve been thinking about me?” It’s breathless, surprised. You don’t mean to sound so pleased. You realize the cigarette has been burning untouched and is in danger of collapsing. Cursing to yourself, you reach over and tap it out.
“Just how to be one step ahead of you, sweetheart.” His words slow you down. The half-smoked cigarette, burnt and ashen, tumbles from your fingers as you let it fall into the ashtray. You pull your legs up to your chest.
“But things are getting serious out in Florida, in Bogota,” he continues, the teasing lilt from his voice gone. “We really need your testimony. Could save a lot of people’s lives.”
You watch his sunglasses slip down over his nose, just enough to catch yours and really stick in the knife. The engine roars as he guns the gas.
“Javi,” you begin slowly. “I’ve made a lot of enemies. Not just in the cartel. I mean, those are probably the baddest, but I can’t show my face in certain places. You can’t protect me every second of every day.”
“What makes you think I can’t?”
He won’t look at you now and you stare blankly. How many times were you going to hurt this man?
“You couldn’t see me coming, for one.”
“Ouch.”
You grimace, eyes squeezing shut. “I’m sorry, Javi, I–,”
“You’re right.” He visibly swallows, and he switches his grip on the steering wheel. “I broke your trust.”
You try to smile to comfort him, but know he wouldn’t appreciate your pity. You pick at the torn thread on your jeans. “If it makes you feel any better, I don’t trust anyone.”
“Well, I guess for someone who – how did you phrase it? ‘Gives trouble a little wink and blows a kiss as you drive by’ – you’ve got to be a little paranoid.”
Your mouth falls open and he smirks, his aviators back high on his face.
“I did not say that.”
“You definitely did, sweetheart. From your lips to my ears. Gotta make up for the fact that I got accused of not listening last time.”
His hand is on the gear shift. The light hair on the back of his wrist and forearm glows in the late evening sun. You think about what it would be like to touch it.
“How’s Steve, by the way?”
Javi snorts and rolls his eyes. “That dumbass? He’s fine. Been duck hunting while on leave. Goddamn Deliverance shit.”
“An activity he shares with Mrs. Steve, I’m assuming?”
“Nah, Connie’s too good for that. Too good for him, as I like to remind him.”
“What’s he like? What’s Connie like?”
He pauses, thoughtful. “Connie likes cats. Blonde. They both are. He’s a good agent. They’ve got a little girl, actually. Adopted her, in Bogota.”
“That’s nice. They sound like good people.”
“They are. Steve’s lucky to have her.”
The car slows, the ringing warning of an oncoming train has him stop before a long stretch of railroad tracks. He taps the wheel with his fingers. The wind comes in and ruffles his hair. He’s handsome in a way that is almost overwhelming. Like you wouldn’t know what to do if he actually looks at you with intention.
The train roars as it passes, the blinking red lights like cosmic stars across his face. You pick at lint on your sock because he can’t be blamed for it, and you should try and make nice. So you open your mouth and ask,
“So is Mrs. Javi still planning on taking me out by the kneecaps? I’ll give her at least two free shots.”
He makes a noise somewhere between a laugh and a groan. He adjusts on the seat and cracks his neck.
“Oh, yeah, you really got Mrs. Javi all worked up.”
“Then send her my regards. How should I fill out the card with her flowers?”
There is silence on the other end. The train whistles and the lights flash. The car rumbles from the force of the train, the weight of gravity. The heavy sun is hovering just above the horizon, going red against the mountains. Like a cracked chicken egg with a smear of blood.
“I can’t tell if you’re fucking with me.”
You sit up higher on the bed and cross your arms.
“What do you mean?”
Javi glances from the train, to you, the red lights hiding any blush on his cheeks. He frowns.
“I’m– I’m not married. That . . . was a lie. There’s no one waiting for–,”
Fuck. Fuck fuck shit. Of all the ways for him to find out. Goddamn it. You lean forward onto your knees, groaning, as you wait for it to sink in. He twists in his seat to you, rabid delight on his face.
“Hang on a fuckin’ second, you’re telling me that little trick of yours doesn’t work over the phone?”
You shake your head. Why, why did you bring up the wife? That’s, like, rule number one.
“Sorry to disappoint,” you sigh, admitting defeat, and pick at your socks. “Over the phone just isn’t as good as the real thing.”
He laughs in disbelief. There might be some red in his cheeks after all. “Uh, yeah. I’d have to agree with that.”
He sits back in his seat, mouth agape, as the last of the train cars rumble through. The ticking of the warning signs slows and the barrier raises. Javi distractedly puts the car into drive and it shudders as it goes over the tracks.
“So what other limitations do you have?”
“I don’t know,” you answer truthfully. “I’ve never put it to the test. As far as I can remember, it only ever makes me money or gets me into trouble.”
“Really? You’ve never been curious.”
“People like me aren’t afford the luxury of being curious.” You glance out the window, at the darkening farmland rushing by. “We just hope to get by. See one day after the next.”
“I know what that’s like,” he murmurs. “Now knowing if you’ll make till sunrise. It’s a bad way to live.”
“Yeah,” you agree, eyes shut. “It is.” His spine is straight, gaze forward, but his knuckles around the wheel are white. Sunlight is fading fast. “How’d you live with it?”
“Didn’t. Not well, at least. Dealt with the worst of it by drinking. Met with people I shouldn’t have.”
Your stomach clenches as you try and decipher his meaning. People, being other agents, the cartel itself, or even women –
There’s no one waiting for me, he was going to say.
“It’s lonely,” you say. You see him nod in the silence.
You bite the inside of your inner lip. “You don’t have to agree with me, you know? I really can’t tell if you’re lying or not right now, so you –,”
You don’t have to pretend to care.
“I’m not lying,” he soothes. You wonder if he could be this kind in person. “Someone once told me starting off a conversation with a lie is not a good way to make a friend.”
You smile out of the corner of your mouth. “That’s good advice. You should keep her around, whoever said that.”
“I’m trying.”
You can feel the shake of the car over the road. Twilight has come, purple and heavy, drawing shadows where there used to be light. Javi takes off his sunglasses and drops them in the clutch of his front shirt, but in the faint light you can’t quite see his eyes.
“I did watch Dr. Pole,” he offers, “had to see what all the fuss was about.”
“You liar.”
He laughs and his fingers bump your knee. “Just making sure.”
You want to stay here with him, but you know you can’t. You squeeze your eyes shut and open them to the dark, warm hotel room.
“Javi, I – I have to go.”
“I know,” he says, his voice running thin through the phone line. You twist away from the headboard, your feet touching the orange carpet. The street lights outside your window have come on, leeching the color from your room. It feels sterile now, less welcoming. Another moment of peace, gone. Another location burned. “I’ll see you soon, okay?”
You huff a laugh, in spite of yourself. “That’s not the comfort you think it is.”
The car hums, swallowing up anything he might have said.
“But there is something I wanted to say, before you go. Before you tased me, which was a one time thing by the way, I, uh, actually had a nice time with you. I wouldn’t call it a barrel full of monkeys, but . . . you, uh, surprised me.”
You can almost picture the way he curls around the plastic handle, broad shoulders folding in on themselves as if to make his joy as small as possible. Protect it from prying eyes.
“Of course, you did. Chocolate waterslide and all that.”
You can feel his smile, even if you can’t see it. You slide your shoes back on, and gather up your jacket. It wouldn’t take you that long to walk to the mechanics and you remember seeing a diner on the drive back this morning. You wondered if they’d let you sleep for a few hours in a booth.
“Oh, uh, just one more thing,” you say, the cord around your fingers. “You still haven’t told me your real name. At the diner, you said it was Javi, but that’s just a nickname, right? What’s your name?”
“You gonna frame me for murder or something?”
“Or something, sure.”
“My name’s Javier. Javier Peña.”
“Nice to meet you, Javier.”
“Call me Javi.”
You don’t really know how to end it, can’t really speak with the knot in your throat, so you click the receiver back into its cradle. You hope he won’t think you’re rude for not saying goodbye.
The mountain air has turned cool without the sun, night curling around the motel like a lazy black cat. You lock the door behind you and leave the key on the doorframe, with a note inside on the bedside table thanking Maria for her kindness and explaining why you’re leaving.
There are still no cars in the parking lot, but the light to the lobby is on behind the closed curtains. You wonder if the maids are playing poker in there.
You begin to whistle, the canvas bag with fifty thousand dollars in cash slung over your shoulder, as you walk down the road, gravel crunching beneath your feet, wondering where he’s going to eat tonight, what music he might like, and if anything he said today was true. You whistle and listen for the sound of his engine.
And the road is out before me
And the moon is shining bright
What I want you to remember
As I disappear tonight
Today is gray skies
Tomorrow is tears
You'll have to wait
Till yesterday is here

Dying Light 2: Game Story Rewrite
I have been tempted (and have since given in to this temptation) to write out one of the alternate Dying Light 2 story campaigns that'd been knocking around in my head ever since I started playing the game.
It sticks to the characters we already know, but aims to- I dunno. Add Taff flavour, I guess.
Tumblr media
Enjoy!
Dying Light 2, an alternate main campaign story, by Taff.
While this is not Latchkey Hero, a lot of the main plot rewrites in this does draw from what I cooked up for Monsters, We. So, if you don’t want spoilers for the MW endgame, skip this.
Tumblr media
The player character is either Aiden or Mia Caldwell. Because who hasn’t wanted a little more versatility? We start by choosing which one we’d like to play.
The Caldwell siblings are Pilgrims (I love the Pilgrims, okay? The world needs more Dying Light Pilgrims, please send me your Pilgrim OCs so I can give them platonic smooches) and they’re currently doing what they do best: helping people move across the territories. Specifically, you’re escorting a troupe (actors and musicians) from New Paris, who’re headed to Villedor to perform.
You get to know the siblings in the introduction, and see how they interact with not only each other, but the people around them, too. My aim here would’ve been to establish a relationship between Aiden and Mia, giving what’ll happen later more meaning. We learn about the Pilgrims, how they hold a fearful sort of respect from others, and just how good they are at this.
We even get a bit of combat! Defend against a bunch of biters. Fend off a banshee before nightfall. And, hey, we might even get to know some of the troupe a bit better! We’re having a great time.
Once we reach Villedor, we find out that there’s a bit of trouble brewing right now and that the troupe won’t be able to get to its actual destination (The Fish Eye), since there’s a blockade up. We don’t much care, we are getting paid already and we don’t plan on staying. So we stash them at the second best place, the Bazaar.
After that, our plan is to pick up some more work and then be on our way. Explore time! We find out that there are two different types of safe zones/holds in Villedor: Some which require a biomarker to get into, some which do not. The Bazaar, for example, has a no biomarker zone and a main only biomarker zone. We also find out that a lot of people here are infected. In our initial exploration, we get to go anywhere in Old Villedor except into holds that require biomarkers and places which have been sealed by the GRE.
We can do a few side quests! If we pay attention, we’ll also pick up on how there’s trouble brewing in Central Villedor, and also how, oof, be careful, newcomers, lotsa new people who come to Villedor just straight up vanish. Until one quest pops up for another escort. A man who’d like someone to help him get to New Paris. Fair. We’ve just been there, we can do the trip again, no sweat. Aiden and Mia agree and take the man (Dylan) back the same way they’d originally come in.
Things don’t go well.
We’re attacked by masked men (Renegades), who are trying to get something back from Dylan, who is wounded gravely at the start of the ambush. Aiden and Mia fight them off, but the noise attracts attention they don’t need (Volatiles!). It is clear they can’t do much, but before they run off, Dylan gives them something and tells them to take it and go and not let Waltz have it (whoever that may be, our two Pilgrims are not clued in).
As we try to escape, we’re eventually overwhelmed and both of our Pilgrims are (drum rolls) bitten. But before the GAME OVER screen can roll in, a set of Renegades and Waltz show up, ultimately saving their lives. Which may sound neat at first, not so much when we get punched out and dragged off. When our player character comes to again, it’s a vague affair at first. A bit of swimming in and out of it, really, where we realise we are in a lab (spooky) and have been injected with something (cue the OOOOOOOooOOO!). But never you fret! After overhearing a conversation that they’d be taken back to Central Villedor since they haven’t died and something something they have potential, our player character frees themselves. They get their sibling too and try to escape. During this escape, we see hints that some of those “vanished newcomers” may have met their end here, wherever here may be.
We also get our stuff. Which includes the GRE key (no one bothered checking our backpack, wee!).
But, once again, things do not go well. Waltz’s goons chase us, and while our player character manages to escape, our sibling sacrifices themselves and, for all we know, has just died. We want to do something about this, but we have our first full blown seizure, which leads to us falling to what everyone assumes is our death.
All of this is followed with an Oh no, am I turning? sequence, which ends similarly to the original intro of the game, where we are about to get lynched by a mob. Hakon to the rescue! Except this time the rescue is somewhat motivated by how we’ve already made some friends previously: the troupe! They recognized us and they are what we find after Hakon jabs us with our first inhibitor.
Afterwards, this version of the story follows the Bazaar VS PK story line, somewhat, with our player character motivated to reach Central Villedor to get revenge. Why revenge and why not have our sibling recaptured? ‘cause revenge can wait a little and it won’t feel so weird when we get side tracked by side quests.
To get to Central Villedor we must help Aitor solve his murder mystery of their slain commander and to do that we have to get a biomarker (which we can do since we have a GRE key). As we solve the mystery, we find out that the conflict with the bandits and whatnot and the PK’s hand being forced to suspect or even attack the Bazaar was being orchestrated by someone else.
Who, we aren’t sure.
There’s choices to be made of course! Some siding with the PK, or with the Bazaar, and all the while we also have our troupe friends to report back to and help with little side quests. Hey, we may even have a little devil and an angle in our troupe who try and sway us towards specific decision. Plus, Hakon, of course (who, by the way, is telling us he has an idea of where to go once we are in Central Villedor so we can get our sweet SWEET revenge). We also meet the usual suspects of the Bazaar, including Sophie, Alberto, and Co.
And in-between our chores, we are on the hunt for those inhibitors and like to jab ourselves with them like the dumdum we are. SURELY nothing bad can come out of this?!
Anyway.
Now that we have a biomarker, we can access other regions in Old Villedor. More exploring! And, eventually, we get the choice to help the PK see the Bazaar was innocent (and give the Bazaar their water tower back), or we claim the water tower for the PK cause we have a crush on Aitor (why else would you do this?!), OR we can cause absolute mayhem and botch the whole deal, leading to a war between the Bazaar the PK, which the PK narrowly win.
Then off we go into Central Villedor. Escorting our troupe, of course. Gee, maybe we get an LI in there?! I’m thinking too much about the troupe now. Down, Taff. But, seriously, there is someone in the troupe who is defo trying to win us over to “troupe life” maybe and sway us away from all the revenge talk. We aren’t having it though. We loved our sibling.
(No one blows up the windmill, btw. That thing is too damn pretty to die. Taff has spoken. Oh and we probably had another turning scare at some point and are figuring out that something may not be entirely right with us.)
Once we’ve survived some tense escort mission shenanigans (HEY those can be fun if done right, I promise), and as we are nearing the Fish Eye, we get into an argument about our desire to Do Revenge, which leads to use pointing the troupe to the Fish Eye and the fucking off with Hakon.
Cause we trust Hakon.
Hakon who has become a bit quiet now that we are alone with him.
Hakon who is getting a bit weird.
HAKON WHO LED US INTO AN AMBUSH TO GET THE DAMN KEY FROM US.
We are not happy. Especially since we are facing what seems to be a trio of WAY TOO strong people who remind us far too much of volatiles. Gee. Anyway, we manage to get away! Mostly thanks to the timely intervention of a crossbow woman (Lawan).
Fast forward, we end up at the Fish Eye, with Lawan giving us a bit of exposition about Hakon (who she was tracking when she spotted him near the Fish Eye), about Waltz and how he does some really creepy science stuff with young people.
We reunite with the troupe and get to know the Fish Eye. We meet Frank.
The Renegades attack.
Our valiant defense of it goes down just like in the game, which introduces us to the PK and properly begins ACT 2. ACT 3? Look, I am not counting. Also, I need a snack, be right back.
[one snack later; beware, Monsters, We. spoilers ahead cause all of this is ripped right out of my fic]
This act is all about Bringing back some light! The right (or wrong) people have noticed that we have a GRE key and are floating the idea by us that we should take our shapely ass over to the solar farm (ex “Tesla competitor” car factory) and do Villedor a solid. This is a big one, because we get to pick our team to do that. Do we go back to the Bazaar and bring Alberto and Co (if we didn’t botch Old Villedor), or do we go with the PK, organized by Aitor, and bring Tolga and Fatim? I mean Mitaf and Aglot, sorry.
Either way, Lawan comes with us.
As we gear up for this venture (which will not be an easy venture) we begin to also unravel some of the mystery around Waltz. The name X 13 is being floated by us at this point, too, which we begin to ask around about and are told to go get friendly with the Carriers (can I PLEASE rename them to Couriers?) since they hoarded a lot of communications and maps.
Anyway. POWER PLANT. Depending on how we left Old Villedor, our efforts at the power plant are challenged by either: The Renegades (if we prevented a war between the PK and the Bazaar) or the Bazaar (if we botched Old Villedor and the PK beat down the Bazaar).
This is when the “Renegade Mini Bosses” start showing up: Daylight proof volayouths. 20-somethings turned into weapons by Waltz.
During that particular fight, we experience another turning scare, but we’re good. Heheehehe. Yeah. We’re good. :sweating:
Then, after we’ve made it, cause, of course we made it: LET THERE BE LIGHT! This time, racing up to the top of a skyscraper is payoff and Lawan’s joy something we can relate to. We’ve seen Villedor dipped in darkness. Now we see it come alive with way more lights than our Pilgrim has ever seen in their life. It’s an emotional moment, ya’all.
We get a little hear to heart with Lawan, where she reveals some more about Hakon. This is driven by the VNC tower light coming on and her briefly recounting how Hakon betrayed the Nightrunners, the very people who took in Lawan when she was a child. She was a kid back then, but she will never forget the loss Frank (and therefore her family) suffered and she will always blame Hakon for it. Hakon was, in effect, outcast after this, and eventually fell in with Waltz. A lot of people do these days, mostly out of desperation.
After that:
The Courier quest line is turned into a bit of a main quest line this time around, at which end we find out what X 13 is: a massive GRE vault. And Waltz and his Renegades are looking for it. If they are able to crack it open, Villedor is in for a BAD time. Not only will he have all the supplies he needs to keep his operation running when it comes to turning people into whatever it is he is doing, but also because: guns. There is absolutely going to be a stockpile of them in there. Even working together, the PK and the survivors wouldn’t stand a chance against the Renegades.
And thus, the race is on!
To get there first, we need intel. And intel needs communication.
VNC tower time!
Frank and Lawan think its a terrible idea, but the PK are happy to help us; this one goes down pretty much identical to the original climb. I loved that mission, and hanging out with Rowe and his group was absolutely necessary to give the PK some much needed depth which they kinda lost after you lose track of Aitor.
The difference is though that Lawan doesn’t come after us. I felt her easily catching up with Aiden cheapened not only the player’s accomplishment, but the death of Rowe’s squad and the death of the Nightrunners. We do get help from Frank though, which is a big deal, since at that moment, Frank is facing his demons. He is going back to that day when his men died – and in doing so, he saves our life.
We celebrate.
We’re almost feeling at home, really. Our troupe performs at the Fish Eye. We get to see it all, and yeah, we still want revenge, but maybe we’re home?Maybe this is better than revenge? Maybe we don’t have to go back out onto the road (and how can we, we are infected, we are screwed anyway, we can’t go back to our old life, can we?).
Maybe this is good.
If you like romance, maybe there’s a bit of romance there (someone from the troupe? Lawan? BIG SHRUG! You choose!).
The next day the hunt begins: For X 13 and Waltz. This leads to us crossing paths with Hakon again (and a fight not unlike the one in the church in the game). Though this time, the fight ends in a revelation: Hakon tells us that (DRUM ROLL PLEASE) our sibling is alive! Yeah, I know you all saw this one coming.
We then get to choose to kill him or to let him live, but not before he tells us where they are.
And we see red.
Heeding no warnings, we head into what could easily be a trap (as Lawan tells us, cause Hakon is a bleeding liar, don’t trust him), but we don’t care. We go. We HAVE to go. Lawan, since we’ve grown on her, comes with us.
THIS IS THE POINT OF NO RETURN, FINISH ALL YOUR SIDE QUESTS
Surprisingly – it is not a trap. Not really. Not intentionally. We find our sibling, but they aren’t altogether themselves anymore, much as any of the other volayouths we find. They also aren’t leaving with us – and as we try and break them out anyway, Waltz gets in the way.
Forced to abandon our sibling, Lawan manages to get us to flee and come back later, with Waltz and one of his other volayouths chasing us. We manage to kill the volayouth, but Waltz is too much – but thankfully, Lawan is crafty, and she manages to get us out.
Except now its night. And we are kinda in the middle of nowhere with no UV light and– oh no, you know exactly where this is going.
We (as in you, the player, not Lawan) turn.
Look, Veronika was sweet, but I had absolutely 0 emotional connection to her. Let this moment matter.
We kill her.
:RECORD SCRATCH:
Unless! We allowed Hakon to live, in which case he realized just how harebrained we were and shadowed us, swooping in at the last second to jab us with an inhibitor, saving Lawan’s life.
The happiness we were so close to his absolutely shattered now. Regardless of whether Hakon helped save Lawan or not. What happened, happened. There is no coming back from that.
If Lawan is dead, we do not go back to the Fish Eye. We crawl into a hole after we come to and hope to die.
If Lawan is alive, we also do not go back to the Fish Eye. We refuse, even though both Hakon and Lawan insist.
It’s not until Waltz contacts us and says he will trade our sibling for the key and the location of X 13 that we spring (or crawl) back into action.
It is decision time.
We can now choose to either: (a) give up, betray all our friends, and leave Villedor with a half-feral sibling, or (b) return to the Fish Eye and go to claim X 13 for Frank or (c) go to Missy and claim X 13 for the PK.
(a) If we betray our friends, the game ends here and the credits are us returning years later to find Villedor in the worst shape it can possibly be in.
(b) If we go to the Fish Eye, and Lawan and Hakon are alive, Frank will put the Nightrunners back together and they come with us to X 13. If not, we go alone and it will be a lot harder than (c). In this case, Matt leads a squad (which includes Aitor) after us and what happens in that confrontation depends on how we handled Aitor and his situation in Old Villedor. Either Aitor sides with us and turns on Matt, or the Nightrunners stay behind to hold off the PK. If the Nightrunners have not reunited (Lawan is dead), we have to fight the PK alone.
(c) If we go to to Missy, Aitor and one of his squads will come with us. No one challenges us.
Assuming (b) and (c), we manage to claim X 13 in what I would hope is an epic battle. One where we fight through Renegades, volayouths, and, eventually Waltz, who has brought our sibling along and pits us against them. We fight both Waltz and our sister or brother, kill him, and are left to choose to subdue or kill what’s left of our family.
Credits!
If we claimed X 13 for the survivors, Frank has taken a reluctant leadership position and oversees things from the Fish Eye. If Lawan is alive, the Nightrunners have been reestablished for good. They control Villedor’s firearms and the supplies coming out of X 13..
If we claimed it for the PK, the PK control Villedor’s firearms and the supplies coming out of X 13, though the outcome itself depends once again on how we handled Aitor’s situation. If we have Aitor on our side, Matt is overthrown after being overzealous and Aitor takes charge and the survivors and the PK enter a reasonable time of peace. If not, Matt brings Villedor under a militant rule (before he dies).
If we have killed our sibling and/or Lawan, we leave Villedor, unable to cope with what we’ve done.
If, however, Lawan is alive and we subdued our sibling, our own credit is us looking for a way to help not only our sibling, but all the other volayouths still out there. Including ourselves.
EDIT! I forgot to mention that NG+ has you have guns.

okay. obviously it seems like everything at the end of 2-4 leads to phoenix declaring matt engarde guilty. and that of course comes with all these big heroic-sounding lines:
Phoenix: ...Matt Engarde.
Engarde: ...!
Phoenix: Even though I am a lawyer, I cannot make your crime disappear. I think a guilty verdict is appropriate here.
Engarde: M-Me!? My wonderful self...!? G-Guilty!?
Phoenix: Even if you got an acquittal, the instant you set foot outside the detention center, your life would be in danger. No matter which way you look at it... You can't run away from your crime anymore!
but no matter if you select guilty or not guilty, the same thing happens: matt engarde declares himself guilty to avoid being killed by shelly de killer. but phoenix's dialogue if the not guilty option is selected.....i LOVE it:
Phoenix: Congratulations, Mr. Matt Engarde.
Engarde: ...!
Phoenix: Please make sure to savor every moment of what little time you have left. Your Honor! As always, the defense pleads not guilty.
Judge: Very well. This court finds the defendant, Matt Engarde...
Engarde: P-Please wait...
Judge: What's the matter?
Engarde: If... If I get a not guilty... I'll... I'll be... killed...
Judge: ...?
Engarde: I... I'm... I'm...
it's not heroic. it's VINDICTIVE. it's already been established by edgeworth between all the relevant parties what will happen if engarde is declared not guilty: de killer will hunt him down and murder him himself. and the fact that this option can be selected without getting the bad ending or a game over since engarde will declare his guilt at this point no matter what makes it as equally likely of happening as phoenix being the stereotypical protagonist and going with the guilty verdict. at this point, maya is safe. there is no danger to her. phoenix looks directly at matt engarde KNOWING that no matter what he says engarde is done for and instead of choosing the slightly kinder option of convicting him (to life in prison, presumably, seeing as it's implied he'll only be killed if he's acquitted) he chooses to plunge the knife in and TWIST. he looks at engarde and says, congratulations! you're free! and watches in silence as engarde starts stammering on the stand, eventually leading to his confession. MUCH different than the "guilty" option, where engarde just says a stereotypical villain line like "my perfect self????" or whatever. like overall i think the "not guilty" option is a THOUSAND times more interesting than the "guilty" option ESPECIALLY when you consider what mia said immediately before the choice had to be made:
Mia: Whether he's convicted or acquitted, there is no escape for him now. Go on, Phoenix. Plead whichever way your heart tells you.
Phoenix: Right, Chief.
phoenix can plead whichever way his heart tells him and he can make the choice to twist the knife. and when he twists the knife he TWISTS it do you get me

Please he's making sure none of his minions will leave him.. and they'll be still up with all their theories and clout when he comes back in 2025 lol. This is not me who said this but his minions themselves.. they said whenever they reconsider about tkk, Tae will appear and leave some crumbs and signs for them to keep believing in tkk. He said he saw army working about the division he joined so he obviously saw cult being sad and mad over jkk's enlistmet too.. so he had to feed his fans. Who cares whether Jimin will be harassed for forcing JK to be in same unit as him? Definitely not Tae.
Jk *may* have given consent to post the ss... but I don't believe tho.. coz he was SO ADAMANT about not showing his head in last 2 lives. It was his place to show not Tae's nor any other member's. It wasn't even a selfie they took with intention of posting but a fucking screenshot of video call he maynot even knew Tae took. But ofcourse some people just lack boundaries or understanding.. they thinks everything is 'joke' and go on and post things without your permission. If feeding cult wasn't his point he would've posted something.. atleast an old selfie with jimin wishing him all the best..but he didn't do that right? Same with Bam too.. he didn't posted with his own dog but bam ? 🤣🤣 he's laughable atp.
But apparently only Jimin is fanservice king who's mia most of the time, when the real fanservice king is hidden in the plainsight and always defended by major chunk of this Fandom no matter what he does. Btw someone tell him feeding tkkrs wont make his songs chart highly nor make album hit. It will only have China fb mass buying and Thailand streaming farm.. not the real popularity where stans from other kpop fandoms also knows your songs lol.
All I have to say is that I choose to believe that he warned Jungkook that he was going to post that screenshot and that Jungkook had no problem with it because as you said, he didn't want to show us his shaved head. Not even in the last wlive he did alone. This reminded me a bit of when we saw Hobi with his shaved head.
I understand what you're saying. I don't know if this is the best time to have this conversation but I get what you're saying.
As for the subgroup, hopefully this will be enough for them to leave us alone tomorrow.
Anon, the last part was completely unnecessary. There was no need to mention that and I think you really showed your intentions. But okay.

I don’t know if you are taking requests, but could you write something with twin sister of quinn and trevor, he has liked you for a while, older female, always see each other at the lake house, obvs that he has a crush/in love with you for years, he doesn’t try to hid it, maybe you give him a chance this year in mich? xx
when i first read this, all i could think of was does your mother know from mamma mia.. so yeah that’s where i was kinda going lol
“You’re going to send that poor boy into an early grave” You laughed when your mom shook her head at Trevor who was completely ignoring Jack and instead staring at you.
“I’m not even doing anything!” Trevor had developed a crush on you over the past few months. Whenever you came home from school, he was always around. He was a nice kid and it was obvious that he liked you but the problem was that he was way too young. Two years wasn’t insane but when he’s only 16 and you were a first year college student, it was huge.
“Y/n can you please leave?” Jack asked, coming into the kitchen. You look at your mom who looks just as confused as you.
“Excuse me?” You ask.
Jack sighs, “Trevor is like obsessed with you but we have a project to finish and we can’t do that if you’re here for him to look at” You and your mom burst out laughing which made Jack cross his arms over his chest. He was already frustrated enough that they had to do this stupid project and now his best friend was too busy staring at you for them to get any work done.
“C’mon sweetie, let’s go to the mall for a bit” You nod, grabbing your phone and following your mom to the front door.
You pause at the living room, looking in to see Trevor and Alex talking about something. “Good luck with the project boys!” You wave before turning away quickly, not wanting Jack to yell at you for distracting Trevor even more.
You were already gone by the time your younger brother got back to find Trevor with flushed cheeks and Alex laughing at him. “Dude, it’s never going to happen get over it”
Every time you’ve seen Trevor since, it has gone fairly similar. As he got older, he tried talking to you more and after a few summers at the lake house, you two became friends but his crush never went away. With your new friendship, Trevor was more confident around you and instead of blushing every time you spoke to him, he started to really lay into the flirting. You thought it was funny and you really liked how much it bothered Jack.
All their friends gave Trevor shit for it but he never relented. The flirting was never too much, it was usually easy enough to laugh it off but Trevor was on a mission this summer.
“Anyone want a drink?” Trevor offered, coming out of the house with a few cans  in his hand. You shielded your eyes as you sat up in your lounge chair, twisting around to look at Trevor. He looked good this summer, definitely much older and... stronger than last year.
“Are you even old enough to have alcohol?” You teased as you held out a hand which he quickly placed a truly into.
Trevor scoffed, “I’m 21 Y/n” He said it like you didn’t know. As if you weren’t aware that he was the same age as your little brother.
“So old enough to drink but not to date? Something’s not adding up” Cole laughed and Trevor glared at him. That was another thing, Trevor hadn’t had a girlfriend for years. You weren’t sure why exactly, all you knew was that the boys loved to tease him for ‘waiting around for you’. Personally, you didn’t believe he had stayed ‘loyal’ to you but you never said anything, it wasn’t like you cared.
“Isn’t the whole ‘NHL player thing’ kind of an easy way to find a girlfriend?” Luke asked and you looked at him, kicking him discreetly because that’s not a very nice thing to say.
“How’s your girlfriend Hughesy?” Trevor fired back and Luke pulled a face.
“Not in the NHL yet”
“Yeah and when you are you’ll get all the girls right?” You ask your youngest brother who rolls his eyes at you.
“Woah is Y/n... defending Trev?” Alex asked and you were internally fighting the blush that was threatening to appear.
“My time has finally come boys!” Trevor drops down onto your chair and you laugh.
“You wish Z”
...
“Come on, just give me a shot” Trevor’s arm was draped over your shoulders and you laughed lightly. You were talking to Quinn about something when Trevor drunkenly made his way over, effectively interrupting the conversation.
“How long has this been going on?” Quinn asks.
“Five years” Trevor says emphatically, “Just one date babe, it’s all I want”
“I’d never live it down if I went out with you Trev” Jack would never let you hear the end of it. Even if it was just one date, you went out with Trevor and that was apparently hilarious for him to even imagine.
Trevor pouted, “It’d totally be worth it”
...
As the days went on and more and more started to be spent with Trevor, you found yourself coming around to the idea of possibly entertaining a date with him.
The things you used to find silly like him fighting to be on your team for beer pong, was now cute. When he sat next to you at dinner instead of Cole, it was sweet. Over the summer, Trevor Zegras grew on you but you weren’t going to cave just to parade it around your friends at the lake house… maybe you’d just have to take a trip to Anaheim this fall.

Your take left a really bad taste and I don't think I'm gonna support your blog anymore.
That’s totally understandable (also I don’t think I’ve post the communication on Tumblr so I’ll do it now).
Please feel free to unfollow or block me if you want. You have all right not to agree with my opinion about the whole matter.
——
Hello everyone,
I’m writing this message after the events of this morning in Tumblr concerning the issue with Mia involving Soobin, Taeyong, Woozi (and maybe Mingi).
For those who don’t know, the scandal happened after people noticed that these idols have been consuming problematic manga fiction (containing ped*, gore, ect).
In my Tumblr, I have tried to express the fact that I believe that one person shouldn’t be judged by what they consume in fiction (making difference between fantasy and reality) while also condemning that indeed some categories are problematic (illegal even) and people should reflect on those.
This perception have made some people angry. I want to make clear I am not defending any idol (those who know me know I don’t care about what idols do) and that for me, the main issue is idols giving these fiction publicity when having a fan based that is mostly underage people. In their privacy people can read / watch whatever they want as long as it doesn’t influenciate their behavior and that they are a capable of distinguish fiction from reality (not necessarily talking of Mia but or any fiction that contains unethical themes -eg AOT)
With that said, I want to apologize to any person that felt uncomfortable with my way of dealing with the issue. I’m not responsible for what idols have said and done, and I condemn any act made by artists that give free pass to illegal matters.
Anyone is free to block me or unfollow me if you got uncomfortable with my words or if you don’t agree with it (which btw is okay, everyone has their own opinion). Idols shouldn’t come before morals. Doublestandars shouldn’t come before morals.
Please share love and understanding, stay safe and thank you.

Hi anon,
True true true...
This is what one of them said after the pic was posted:
Tumblr media
Sigh...
Tomorrow his songs will have better streams and tkkrs will be thriving.
It's crazy. Instead of focusing on his last days as a free man and enjoying life, that's what he does. Feed his cult.
Its really weird behavior. He should be ashamed of himself.
I hope he grows up.
Thanks for sharing.

As you and Lena entered the chapel, you felt everyone’s eyes on you and your daughter.
You couldn’t remember the last time you’d actually gone to a wedding. It was most likely one of Robin’s, all of them taking place at the villa so you and Lena could be part of them somehow. You didn’t like walking down the aisle, everyone standing and watching you as you did so. By the time you got to the front of the altar, you stood with your daughter for a moment, kissing her on the cheek before taking your seat next to Robin and Nancy on the front pew.
The priest cleared his throat. “Please be seated. Welcome to Leo and Lena and to all of your friends who are gathered here on this day. And welcome especially to Y/N, who represents your family. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today, in the sight of God—”
“And welcome to Lena’s dad,” you said, standing up. You looked to your daughter whenever she looked to you in fear. “I have to tell you. It isn’t fair to keep it from you any longer. He’s here.”
Whenever Steve, Jonathan, and Eddie all stood, everyone in the chapel gasped as Lena said, “I know.”
“What?”
“I invited him,” Lena explained nervously.
“But you can’t have! I don’t know which one of them it is.”
“Oh my God!” Nancy shouted.
Steve, Jonathan, and Eddie all sat back down, all looking to be somewhat embarrassed.
“That’s why they’re all here!” you said, everything starting to click together.
“Mom, I’m really, really sorry. Will you ever forgive me?”
“Oh, I don’t know, Lena,” you said, somewhat flustered. “Will you ever forgive me?”
“I don’t care if you’ve slept with hundreds of men!”
With that, the priest gave you a funny look.
“You’re my mom!”
You almost sat back down in your seat without any further argument, but you stood back up. “Just for clarification, I have not slept with hundreds of men.”
The crowd laughed, and the priest prepared himself to begin again whenever Steve stood up, then walked toward the front of the altar, seeing somewhat pissed.
“All right, hold up a sec. Are you saying that I might be Lena’s dad, but it might be Jonathan, or even Eddie?”
“Exactly right, and you’ve only got yourself to blame,” you replied, standing back up.
“I what?”
“Yeah,” Lena said. “If you hadn’t dumped my mom and gone off and married someone else, none of this would’ve happened.”
“No, no, no, it wasn’t like that,” Steve said, defending himself. “I was engaged. I had to go home. I thought it was the right thing to do.”
Whenever he saw the confusion on your face, he knew that he finally had to come clean about what he’d done. He had to tell you about what he should have told you a long, long time ago.
“But I came back.”
“What?” you asked, incredulously.
“Yeah. I told Amy I couldn’t marry her, and I came straight back.”
“Well, why didn’t you call me?” you asked, somewhat annoyed.
“Because I was stupid enough to think that you might be sitting in your room still hung up on me,” he answered. “By the time I got here, people told me that you’d gone off with some other guy.”
Whenever Steve looked to Jonathan and Eddie, everyone in the chapel looked at both of them, which made both of them look away.
“So I went back to Amy, who told me what an idiot I was… and married me to prove it.”
With that, Eddie stood up. “I’m sorry. If… If I might just insert myself into this for a moment, there’s something—”
“Oh, Eddie, the check. I’m so sorry—”
“Oh, no. Keep that for a rainy day. It’s yours. I just wanted to say it’s great to even have a third of Lena. I never thought I’d ever get that much of a kid, you know?”
“Oh, Eddie,” you said softly. He was always one for kind words.
He took a deep breath. “Sweetheart, you were the first girl I ever loved. But you were, uh… you were also the last girl I ever loved.”
It didn’t take long for you to understand what he meant.
“It’s been kinda difficult for Joe and me to have kids for obvious reasons, so I would consider myself lucky to even be a third of a father to Lena.”
“He’s right,” Steve said. “We can find out if we want to, but I’m with Eddie. Being a third of your dad is enough for me.”
“Me too!”
With that, Steve, Jonathan, and Eddie all stood behind Leo, almost as if they were waiting for yours or Lena’s next move.
Robin turned to Nancy, almost amused. “Typical, isn’t it? Wait twenty years for a dad, and then three come along all at once.”
Lena looked at all three of her potential fathers fondly. “I don’t know which one of you is my dad, but I don’t mind.”
Never in her life did she ever think she would get to meet her father, but at this moment, she now had three men that would love her, no matter if she was truly theirs or not.
That was why she finally looked to Leo with her mind made. “I’ve learned something about myself, Leo. Let’s not get married.”
Everyone in the chapel gasped in response.
“I know you never wanted any of this, okay? I’ve got my entire life ahead of me. Let’s just get off this island and explore the world, just like you’ve always wanted.”
Leo smiled, almost as if he didn’t know what to say. “I love you.”
“I take it the wedding’s canceled?” the priest asked, looking at you.
You threw your hands up in surrender. “I have no idea what’s going on.”
“Wait, wait, wait, hold up a sec. Why waste a good wedding?” Steve asked, standing in front of you.
“What are you doing?” you asked, looking at him somewhat nervously.
“How about it, L/N? You’re gonna need somebody to boss around on this island of yours now that Lena’s gone.”
“Are you insane? I’m not a bigamist!”
“Neither am I,” Steve said, smiling. “Last time I checked, I’ve actually been divorced for—” he stopped to count the years out on his fingers— “about ten years ago now. I’ve loved you for just about half my life, Y/N, and ever since I got on this island, I’ve been dying to tell you how much I do.”
Everyone gasped once again whenever Steve got down on one knee, spreading his arms wide.
“Come on, Y/N! It’s only the rest of your life!” You didn’t quite know what to say to him.
Just before you’d come inside for the wedding, you had both, in so many words, told each other that you loved one another. You thought he was crazy for suggesting something like this, mostly because up until yesterday you didn’t have any intent to ever see him again. Something about the gesture, though, made your heart flutter. You didn’t know if you would be able to survive turning him down.
“Come on, Y/N! You know you love me. Don’t deny it. Let’s just try it out, all right?”
“Say I do!” Robin said, shaking you slightly.
Whenever you finally came to, you blurted out, “I do!”
Steve took your hand, standing back up from the ground. Whenever he grasped your other hand, he pulled you into a kiss.
Kissing him was almost the same as it was twenty-one years ago, but something about it now felt different. Even though you now, apparently, did have the rest of your lives, it was like something within him was absolutely horrified that he would never get to kiss you again. It was almost like it was all those nights ago: he didn’t want to let you go.
With that, the wedding resumed, except instead of your daughter getting married, you were now marrying the love of your life.
The decorations around the reception area still had Leo and Lena’s names all over them.
Even if the decorations didn’t quite seem to match the new bride and groom, you and Steve didn’t mind. The reception was still a joyous occasion.
“To the woman I’ve always loved,” Steve said, holding up his glass of champagne as he made a toast. “I thank her for finally taking a real chance on me.”
You smiled, shaking your head. “Sit down, Harrington. You’re making a fool out of yourself.”
Whenever he sat back down next to you, he said, “I made a fool out of myself whenever I got down on one knee in that chapel.”
“Yeah, you did.”
On the other side of the reception, Nancy and Jonathan sat next to one another.
“I’ve gotta be honest with you, weddings make me sick,” Jonathan said, taking a sip of his drink. “Even whenever Lena asked me to walk her down the aisle, I thought I was gonna pass out.”
Nancy giggled. “Tell me about it.”
“All of it just seems too… too much, you know? I’m a photographer. I’ve worked on my own schedule for over twenty years. I don’t have any intent to stop that now.”
Nancy laughed nervously. “You know, if you ever, uh… change your mind, I’d be there.”
“Yeah?” Jonathan asked, almost not believing what he was hearing.
“Yeah. I’m a writer, too, so I get being on your own schedule. Maybe we could, uh… Maybe we could make something work.”
He nodded, smiling. “I think I’d like that.”
Love seemed to hang around on the island, even whenever the night began to come to an end. Leo and Lena’s bags were already packed, but now that they weren’t getting married, you had no idea when you would see your daughter next. As you watched them put their luggage on the boat now, ready to arrive on the mainland to start their journey through life together, you thought it was all bittersweet.
“I’d never let anything happen to her,” he replied, letting go of you so he could continue putting their bags on the boat.
“And you keep him out of trouble,” you said, looking at your daughter somewhat sternly.
Without another word, Lena quickly pulled you into the tightest hug you thought you’d ever experienced, then she let go to look at you again.
“I’m gonna miss you, Mom.”
“No, you won’t. You’re going to have the time of your life, my love,” you said softly as you smiled. “It’s a big world out there. Go experience it.”
She nodded, waving to everyone as Leo helped her into the boat. As they sailed away to shore, everyone cheered for them, only watching them as they disappeared into the night.
