a few domesticated mimics. someone asked for femme mimics over on patreon a few months ago so here you go.
these purse dogs are great for the pastel adventurer on the go. a wallet you can't lose, an anti-theft system, and a little buddy all in one. just make sure you always get any mimic in a novelty shape from an ethical breeder to avoid health issues down the line.

ant mimic spider: Wow! I love hanging out with my fellow ants! So fun to interact with other ants (like myself, a real ant) with my totally normal antennae! ant mimic beetle: Totally! So, great and fun to be an ant. (And to be so very ant-shaped and not at all thick around the middle.) We are both excellent anty ants. ant mimic wasp: Oh YES. I agree too! Totally. And we all have such nice svelte waists and jointed antennae. Ha ha. Normal antennae. ANTennae, if you will! I love being a valid and real ant. Ha ha ha. ant mimic spider: Ha ha ha. ant mimic beetle: Ha ha... hm. spider: There are no ants here ... are there? beetle: God dammit.

I know the idea of mimics is supposed to be scary -- the inanimate object is really a monster ready to bite you! -- but I've got to say, they're far more compelling as friendly things.
Who doesn't want a pet that can turn into a scarf when you're cold, a key when you're locked out, and a knife for slicing enemies apples?

10 Rules That Just Make Sense In Appalachia:
Close, lock and cover your windows at dusk
Never go outside in rural areas at night, especially not alone
If you hear something strange outside, no you didn't
If you see something out of the corner of your eye, no you didn't
Never whistle at night, even indoors
Cover your mirrors at night
Never look up into the trees
If you think something is following you, DO NOT RUN. Get out as calmly as possible
Never respond to your name being called unless you know where the voice is coming from and are positive of who said it
Never leave the hiking trails in the woods

It's probably for the best that most mimics are quite territorial. In those rare instances where large numbers of mimics are able to get along in close proximity, they eventually start to outnumber regular, inanimate objects, and invariably begin to mimic each other. It can be amusing to see the results of mimics mimicking mimics, their impressions of impressions resembling the original objects less and less. However, when that many mimics are that at ease with each other's presences, and blending in that poorly, they often start to resort to more active, creative, and cooperative means of capturing prey.
