ok this is a fun one!! lemme go one at a time

Emery- (Delphox, Ninetales, Heliolisk, Volcarona, Lilligant, Espeon)

emi has a sun team! Fennekin is their starter, they love fire types and they just found it really cute (among some other reasons! it has a rlly affectionate personality yet little bit of a mischievous streak, and they just fell in love). they have some other members of their team that Don't Make It (spoilers) that aren't mentioned here as well-- this is just their final team. they prefer Fire-types but they're pretty largely sun-themed as a character and their team reflects that!

Rowan- (Gardevoir, Umbreon, Absol, Delphox, Meowstic-M, Thievul)

they're the opposite end of the spectrum as Emi-- largely moon-inspired. they specialize mainly in psychic and dark although they aren't a specialist for those types by any means, it just kind of happened to shake out that way for them. their starter was Also Fennekin (which comes in handy when they're hitchhiking with Emi when she picks a starter) and they have a really strong bond as they've been together for so long. Absol is probably her signature mon though, just as it's the one she uses most often/Mega Evolves.

Soleil- (Primarina, Mimikyu, Sylveon, Gengar, Togekiss, Rotom)

they're a ghost/fairy specialist! they actually originated when a friend and I picked dual monotypes for each other to do in a monorun and I decided to make an OC out of it. they're rather fond of ghosts as they love history, and ghost-type Pokemon tend to hang around those kinds of historical sites. they also found that ghosts were often pretty friendly to her and tended to be misunderstood, so she took a liking to them. fairies they just really like. it started when their Eevee evolved unintentionally into a Sylveon-- they just loved it at first sight.

Lyra- (Minior, Cosmog, Clefable, Beheeyem, Starmie, Musharna, Deoxys)

lyra actually originated just because I'm a really big sucker for space and galaxy themes and wanted to design an OC based on that! there's a lot of interesting space/alien/star-aligned Pokemon, so their team is based on that. they're also primarily a reserve psychic leader, so Minior and Clefable usually act as wild cards during battles. Deoxys and Cosmog xe don't get until postgame, and Cosmog eventually evolves into a Lunala (although it's just a Cosmog for a pretty long time because they don't fight with it and xe thinks it's Too Dang Cute).

Niko- (Rotom, Hoopa, Noivern, Zoroark, Polteageist, Toxtricity)

his team is largely based around theme of electricity and sound and his arcade theme rather than any one type! Noibat -> Noivern was a gift from Arc, and they often fix machinery in the nightclub together with their Rotom. Zoroark comes in handy when they have to disguise themself when going down to Seventh with Arc, and Toxtricity helps with the music in the club obviously. she has the same kinda mischievous personality as Hoopa, so that's totally something she'd pick up in postgame.

Shira- (Gardevoir, Sylveon, Ribombee, Alolan-Muk, Salazzle, Roserade)

shira's team has undergone a few changes since I usually update my OCs in either design or lore a decent amount, lmao-- they're largely a poison and fairy specialist now. eevee was their first Pokemon, and they barely knew anything about Pokemon at the time, so she didn't have any special stones or know about any specific evolution conditions for it, so it ended up evolving into Sylveon due to their high levels of friendship and it happened to know Baby-Doll Eyes (Shira is not immune to the puppy eyes). Gardevoir was a gift from Soren, who has Gallade-- while Roserade was a gift from Ace and Taka.

Soren- (Silvally, Porygon-Z, Gallade, Delphox, Rotom, Froslass)

their team is more based specifically on technology as it's their specialty, with a few exceptions-- Snorunt was their starter, but Type:Null is their signature mon. they ended up finding Null abandoned and hurt before they joined meteor and attempted to heal it back to health-- it just started following them around after that. Gallade is a counterpart specifically to Shira's Gardevoir, while Delphox was a gift from Ace. they're originally from Ametrine, so that's where they ended up finding Snorunt as their first Pokemon within the mountains :>

i have a physical therapy appointment this morning so i don’t wanna start writing my post about beating platinum until after i’m done with that but i figured i’d tie up some loose ends since i wasn’t updating much yesterday

jasmine just being dropped in this game as a nod to HGSS has always been cool. a town with a lighthouse as well, just like olivine. it’s kind of wack how this cameo appearance remains in bdsp despite there not being a twin johto game to go with it lol

this dialogue that implies some cyrus lore as well… i was talking with a friend yesterday about how it’s strange cyrus has a crobat, like most of the “evil team” leaders have friendship evos barring ghetsis, but cyrus is particularly cynical towards pokemon, even his own, and you’d think he wouldn’t be able to have a friendship evo. this dialogue makes me wonder if there was a time where he was reclusive but not as far gone yet when he could have achieved that crobat evolution, and left unchecked by adults on account of “he’s fine, he’s a genius” he spiraled out of control… or maybe it’s a case of kindness, but in the wrong way, or both! who knows. kinda crazy u can miss out on this completely optional dialogue so easily

victory road was mostly uneventful, solved all the puzzles and picked up all the items and fought every trainer etc, though it did put my team through the wringer and i had to actually use the healing items i had been stockpiling off the floor for once, since i didn’t feel like walking back to the pokecenter every time.

i picked up some stray dex entries along the way too - as far as i know i’m only missing just a handful of encounters you can get before the league without evolving anything, specifically the one fossil mon you can get at this point (i haven’t checked whether i have shieldon or cranidos), and a handful of mons that can be caught fully evolved with the good rod like Seaking because they’re just SO much easier to get with the super rod and i figured i’d wait until then since fishing can be slow in this game. oh and i haven’t caught the lake trio yet since i want to actually prepare for them properly post-league (i don’t want to wing it like i did with giratina… i want them in premiers…)

and lastly i did beat barry before doing my final league prep, idk i just wanted to get it out of the way. tbh it wasn’t too bad, i had some pokemon faint but within reason. i would say more but i didn’t take notes and the battle wasn’t that crazy. however barry becomes even stronger than cynthia eventually in the postgame so i’m not insulting him at all LOL

I want to take a moment to talk (ramble) about venipede’s line cause it’s been on my mind lately. So pardon that this has absolutely no structure- I just love these guys and find them personally very fascinating-

To start, fun fact: venipede and it’s line are only native to two regions! Those being Unova (obviously) and the Isle of Armor off the coast of Galar. You can also find them in select locations in both Alola and Kalos, but (in a not so fun fact) they are considered invasive species. With Alola that “invasive” status is debatable but I’ll get to that in a minute.

With Kalos specifically you can find them on the grounds of the Parfum Palace built by Kalos’ old king. He imported various foreign pokemon to reside in his garden as a reflection of his wealth and status, but when the monarchy fell and the Palace became a national landmark, the damage had already been done and venipede had taken over the grounds. Thankfully they are contained to that area, which is protected property, but being territorial pokemon they end up being marked as a threat to people and pokemon who visit the grounds.

With Alola you have a more unique case. You see, venipede and their line were native to Alola as well. Several hundred years ago they were the apex predators of the Lush Jungle, but were later taken out by rising populations of Lurantis. Some decades ago there were attempts to reintroduce venipede to Alola with very little success. They can be found in small populations in isolated areas on Akala.

I actually originally started this post to talk about whirlepede and how most trainers aren’t equipped to raise this line with the middle stage as a prime reason why.

You see, Venipede are very territorial and often solitary pokemon when left to just be feral. But if you manage to show your chops and build up a relationship, they can become fiercely loyal companions and strong teammates. Scolipedes operate best as a perceived “leader” of a team, they’re hulking ‘mons and share a lot of traits with their first stage that are just dialed up to 11.

All this to say that whirlipede is an absolute curveball that most trainers are not equipped to handle. Venipede isn’t particularly quick, neither is Scolipede but they can gallop for short distances. Whirlipedes however become basically a tire of pure energy in the middle of a line most people assume to be build one the power of their strength.

Evolving from a form that couldn’t move very fast with very small legs, whirlipedes are capable of going over 60mph for extremely long distances. When Pandora first evolved he ran circles around me- often times not even realizing his own speed.

There are actually specific leash/harnesses for whirlipedes that allow them to basically be a gyroscope and let them spin in place while not running someone over. They require a lot of exercise and play- especially to express the freedom of movement that they’ve never had before.

I was better prepared for the transition because I was already at the ranger academy. I was outside a lot and had a lot of open spaces for Pandora to roll around in, and plenty of people to help him get rid of all his battle energy.

I hold venipede’s line close to my heart. They certainly aren’t the easiest to take care of and require a lot of diligence and a strong bond. They aren’t very common, mainly due to how limited their habitats are, and I think that’s why so many people have misconceptions about them.

Some other rapid fire facts-

- Whirlipede is actually considered a pupa stage! Much like cascoon/silcoon, kakuna, metapod, or even pupitar. They don’t have a mouth and run on energy purely from when they were a venipede. They can run off these stores for upwards to a year before they feel ready to evolve!

- Scolipede’s venom is secreted from the spikes on the end of its exoskeleton, antennae, and their beak. They can spit poison as well!

- And yeah, Scolipede’s have beaks much like inkay and malamar, or turtle pokemon like chewtle and drednaw! Their jaws and the subtle hook of their beak is meant to latch onto something and not let it go- and they have a bite force of about 1,000 pounds. Chances are that if they can fit it in their mouth, they can break it right in half

- They squeak. Not enough people know that besides hissing, these guys squeak like a door hinge that needs to be oiled. It’s adorable <3

Okay, this is going to be. A little incoherent. But I blame @rearranging-deck-chairs for Daemon-posting and getting me in that headspace of rotating the blorbos with some Creachurs. That being said, it's time for a vague AU that smushes Pokemon into Doctor Who and resultant Spydoc Thoughts (also, plot spoilers for ScVi's late game)

So, Thirteen's team is very... haphazard. She didn't put thought into planning them, they just kind of happen to her. There's very little rotation, just occasionally giving breaks to team members.

Togekiss - Twelve had a Togepi for a while. Like, a Very long while. Hell, Clara probably got her for him (not that he knew that for a time), and it took until Bill for the two of them to become close enough that she evolved into a Togetic. Usually, the Doctor puts aside their old team upon regeneration, but Twelve specifically wanted to pass her along as part of his wish that his next self would carry that hope and kindness. It... doesn't always work out, but Thirteen can't quite make herself give up on that. Togetic gets evolved into Togekiss sometime during season 11, after Thirteen properly accepts that she's travelling with her fam.

Porygon - I just adore the idea of Thirteen with a Porygon, okay? The whole line suits her very well. She picks it up fairly early - while she's still stuck on Earth and building her little teleporter post-WWFTE, most likely. Could she evolve it? Easily! Will she? Eh, probably not. It enjoys hanging out in her sonic and making friends with the TARDIS and eating Ryan's data (when it can)

Absol - She gets an Absol stalking her sometime during season 12 (pre-FOTJ) and can't shake him, so eventually he becomes an unofficial team member. He's not trying to be a bad omen, really, he just can't help but sense disaster around her. Flux is... a bad time for him

Beldum - This one is in the same boat as Porygon, where she could evolve it but never sees the point. She picks it up on a junk planet pre-Tsuranga and it just vibes with her. It gets along with her Porygon quite well

Helioptile - Just. Just look at it and tell me it doesn't scream Thirteen. Funky little electric lizard friend. The Doctor catches her sometime in season 11 and names her Tiny in honor of the P'ting

Sandy Shocks - My reasoning behind this one is twofold. A) it's fitting that the Doctor would have a paradox mon, and this one suits her vibes best. B) if any Doctor deserved a Pokemon that's the result of experimentation by an unethical and obsessed scientist who is also a deeply shitty mother, it's Thirteen. She picks this one up late - barely pre-Flux, some solo adventure with Yaz where they find one and it takes a shine to her (and vice versa)

Silvally - As with Sandy Shocks, this Pokemon suits the themes of Thirteen really well. She finds them during Flux, most likely, as a Type: Null that Tecteun kept (analogous to the Ood?). The two of them don't have all that long together, in the grand scheme of things, but they evolve relatively quickly

For the Master, he did plan his team much more deliberately, and he actually does some rotation.

Zoroark (Unovan) - Is this obvious? Yes. Will that stop me? No. He's trying very very hard to cultivate an appearance of over the top evil for the most part, and underlining how much of a deception O was with a Pokemon known for deceit is very in line with his actions

Lycanroc (Midday) - What his Zoroark spends most of its time illusioned as when he's O. Might well have belonged to the original O, just to drive the point in

Meowscarada - It's a dramatic magician cat that's part Dark type. He chose this on purpose and honestly, it's probably a shiny to boot

Farigiraf - He probably chose this one for the Psychic typing and good resistances, but the whole 'secondary head overtaking the primary upon evolution' thing feels like it should be a metaphor

Tyrantrum - Gives that Rock type coverage once he ditches Lycanroc, but its vulnerabilities and short temper fit him a little too well

Toxapex - Solid type coverage for a lot of things he's weak to, and it has the patience a lot of his other team members lack. Sometimes you just need to lay your plans and be able to sit back and wait

Aegislash - This one is almost purely for the sake of decent team comp. That being said, I feel like it fits well with Toxapex; willing to play the long game and adapt to the circumstances

Iron Jugulis - As with the Doctor, it makes sense for the Master to have a paradox Pokemon. One of the robotic future iterations made most sense, given the Cyberium, and a futuristic Hydregion - a Pokemon I can't help but associate with Ghetsis, and thus Immense Suffering - felt apt

Mimikyu - There is no Pokemon more suited to this vaguely upright bundle of identity issues shaped like an approximation of a Time Lord than this. He's probably aware of this but it latched onto him and they relate to each other. He makes it little Doctor outfits while he's Rasputin-ing

Pokemon Diamond; Gerudo Warrior Run

This is probably one of the types of challenges that I didn't actually make up for once. It's based on a Legend of Zelda races Pokemon Challenge, and one I will have other runs of down the line. Just not too soon because I have a HUGE backlog of challenge runs I wanna get to. (Thus all the runs I've posted recently)

I ended up using two teams, actually just 11 Pokemon total but close enough yeah? A combination of Pokemon I've never used, ones I like for one reason or another, and one that I like... just not that specific color scheme. With the limits of typing down to Electric, Dark, Ground, Ghost, Ice, and Fire; I had my work cut out for me.

Unable to think of any other Fire type I wanted to use, I picked Chimchar. Well, that and I knew I'd need the Fighting coverage late game. Dual Types became my saving grace the whole playthrough, as they tend to for most Limit Your Coverage Option runs.

With LOZ on the brain, I named the tiny fire chimp Daruk (Daruk's Protection is ready to roll!) and looked into the best way to get ahold of the mons I wanted. Specifically, I needed a Shellos to raise fast; though I don't like the West Sea version (spoiler, Pinky became a powerful fave by the time I got Whiplash). And by raise fast, I meant that I stuck them in the Daycare until they were just at evolution level. Shame that Whiplash wasn't in the area because I ended up using Pinky for a good portion of the game.

The early game wasn't much to talk about, A Shinx named Link and a Murkrow named Teba added to the numbers. I kept Pinky around to gain EXP, but he wasn't allowed to do any fighting. Thankfully I was able to add very powerful teammates as soon as I beat Gardeinia. That is a Gible named Ragnaroka and a Spiritomb named Dark Link.

In Hearthome City I skipped over a lot of the Contest stuff, only doing enough to get Fantina back to her gym. I was a bit more interested in getting on to Solaceon Town with the Daycare and Unown quest line. While Unown itself wasn't the least bit useful to me, I knew I was that much closer to getting some Pokemon I wanted for my team.

Trying to breeze through as much without story points, I finally managed to grab a Hippopotas named Gara, a Stunky named Robbie, and the East Sea Shellos I wanted named Whiplash. As you can probably tell, I didn't stick to the theme of LoZ nicknames. Sadly there weren't many Ghost type options, nor too many Ice types I wanted to use. Let alone get ahold of in a reasonable time.

I got there eventually, on the way to Snowpoint I picked up Detra the Snover and Sickle the Sneasel. Their usefulness was limited by how late game they were, but not for long. I spent days grinding to make sure I had my interchangeable teams just right. Of course I was torn between who should be the ACE, since Daruk was the only Fire type (and my starter) and Dark Link was the only one who had zero weaknesses (and was a Pokemon I'd been dying to use for ages).

With free reign over the region and only the League to go, I sought out the best coverage movesets and rid my team of unnecessary HMs in Canalave. Not to say it was a waste of time, but with every one of my 11 mons fully evolved and sporting the best moves for their species (not their natures though, I'm that well versed in the Meta), I steamrolled the League twice over so all my Pokemon had that coveted Champion Ribbon. (The only other ribbons they got were the Footstep, Friendship, and Effort ribbons because I wasn't about to waste three months on the Sunnyshore story lady and her daily ribbons. Nor the millions on the post-game ribbons.)

SW Suddenly-Omegaverse AU: Interior Design

So you know how it's reasonable for the Jedi Temple to have species-specialized rooms? Most extreme examples being the environmental controls for Kel Dor, and probably semi-aquatic rooms that have underwater sleeping spaces for Nautolans and Mon Calamari?

Omegaverse humans get rooms that have large depressed areas, lightly padded with non-absorbent coverings for nests, both in communal areas for group nesting, and then the bedroom nesting divots are for the adult alphas and omegas.

When I say nesting divots I'm thinking about sunken living rooms, but smaller, and round or ovaloid. Possibly smooth-sided so it's more like an egg than a cylinder? Not sure on that part. Might be that some people prefer it differently.

There are a lot of humans in the order, so I think they plausibly make it part of the standard generic dry-land suites.

The big issue with a non-nesting species having a room with the nesting divot is that, if you're not using it, it's easy to trip into and hard to place furniture over. It's inconvenient, so I think it might be something where the quartermaster has a standardized 'cover-up' thing that fills in the divot so it's level with the rest of the room.

Also... hm. I think bedrooms with nesting divots might have them in recessed areas? The room isn't a square, it's a square with a smaller square off to the side (so there's safe-feeling walls on three sides), and it's out of the way for those who don't use it. Where you'd conceptually have a small bathroom or walk-in closet, there's a little side space for the nest, sans door.

There's still a 'regular' bed, more often than not, because nesting serves a somewhat different purpose.

So there’s just this hole in the floor of most terrestrial rooms, but most non-humans (or other nesting species) tend to cover it up. A lot of them use it as the storage space for winter/summer clothing swaps; Coruscant has very mild seasonal variation, but they do go to other planets on missions, so... yeah, Under the Nesting Cover is where you keep your winter clothes.

This actually makes the most sense because then betas can also get nesting covers if they want them. There can also be bigger nesting covers for the communal spaces of default terrestrial rooms if a non-nesting master-padawan set get them.

The communal spaces could be set up so you can just add regular couches to it, and then it's just a sunken living room. They probably have teams of droids for fixing up sets of rooms for environmental needs.

Me, poking at A/B/O logistics: I wanna talk about the quartermaster and the droid team that does interior remodeling for species-specific variation in environmental needs.

I think it would be very funny to watch a quartermaster try to balance a Nautolan master with a human padawan like 'okay they need a room where the adult's living space is aquatic, there needs to be a communal nesting divot for the padawan--" and then later on the Nautolan is just like. No nesting instincts. But the padawan is waiting in their little hole full of blankets and pillows and just looking up with Wibble Lip and the master just goes Well, Okay Then, because taking care of your padawan's needs is important and humans do the whole cuddling thing, so...

Most social species do some cuddling, but omegaverse human nesting instincts are weird to an aquatic species, I think. Like... this is all Very Soft And Dry.

Anakin and Obi-Wan end up sharing a suite because there's enough traumatic tension involved in this whole mess that nobody wants to split them up... and I considered that they then have to move a few months later when it turns out they're both now omegas and need bedroom-based nesting depressions too, but it's easier for all human rooms to have nesting depressions by default. They still have to move when they get Ahsoka, though, so the quartermaster has to find-or-adjust a three-bed suite, with two master rooms that have omega nesting divots, and one dry humanoid padawan room (no nesting divot needed, but it'll probably have one anyway).

Anakin and Obi-Wan both ignore the nesting divot at first because it's just... it's weird, okay, but then they keep getting frustrated and upset and antsy for reasons they don't understand, and someone points out that like.. maybe that's why? You aren't nesting and that's important for humans, right?

They hate the idea, because it's not normal for them and they don't like being reminded that the Force said they can't go home. The conversation happens before they've realized they're naturalizing to the AU dimension, so they keep ignoring it... but then Anakin's heat happens, and they resign themselves to trying it and oh, actually nesting feels.... really good....... fuck.

Not even sexual good, it's just the same hormones you get from a hug. Safe-and-comfy chemicals happen in the brain when nesting. Surrounded by walls and comfy fabrics that smell like family and friends. Burrowing.

Quick note on Venators:

I'm thinking that there are personal nests for the officer's quarters, and large communal nests in the barracks. There are still bunks lining the walls, and no personal nests. Given the different needs of humans in this AU, I'm saying there's up to twenty troopers per 'room', and two large communal nests for that same number. Really it's more like rows of bunks that don't connect to the walls at either end? Like rows of library shelves.

There are specialized heat/rut rooms for once-a-year heats/ruts. There's probably an entire hallway (near medical) dedicated to solely to those.

They're all on suppressants but need to still have the damn things, if smaller and less intense, for health reasons relating to the quick-aging situation and maintaining optimal hormone levels for peak performance in the field. Imbalance will cause depression, and when everyone already has PTSD, you don't want to risk that more than you have to.

Back before the robots, they were expected to work regular hours. Normal days. Practically a nine-to-five, plus a couple of hours most days, but never too long after sundown—and unless they had a mission off-base, they’d get weekends off. It was the most organized war any of them had ever been a part of, to be honest. And it was taxing, sure, the pain and bloodshed, but at least according to Scout it still beat working in food service.

And it wasn’t even all that scary half the time—before the robots, the team was invincible in most senses of the word. It would take some extremely particular situations to kill them, situations they were rarely anywhere near. A doctor on staff, bars in town and a full liquor cabinet on base, a pay grade that few of them even dreamed of, it was a good place to be in their lives. They considered themselves lucky, most days.

But that was before the robots.

The sun was setting over wherever the hell they were. They were going on their second day here, which was usually about how long they spent in one place before they had to move again, following some fickle change of the wind to intercept the next few waves of automatons.

They were exhausted. They didn’t have breaks, truth be told, and only sometimes got to sleep—mostly on the drive to their next destination, sometimes woken up during the night by the distant metallic clanging that functioned as the trumpets of war. Modern era, and all.

Medic was truly running on his last legs. He half operated his infirmary out of the back of one of the trucks they used to transport their equipment, not seeing reason to bother unpacking most days. Soldier was in a tizzy himself, constantly checking and rechecking their supplies, inventory being the only job left out of the multitude he’d had on base before and therefore being one he did near-constantly, and his consensus seemed to be that they were running low on... well, everything. Raiding abandoned warehouses for ammunition and guns just wasn’t cutting it anymore. They’d started to send some of the mercs out hunting for scrap metal when they had the time, and the Engineer was left to work practically around the clock trying to feed it to dispensers and restock to have at least enough to be prepared for battle, and Heavy tended to take over when he absolutely needed to sleep.

But then there were the mercenaries who didn’t have much to do but sit and stew. Sniper mostly took to perching alone somewhere he could watch for the distant dust clouds kicked up by the tanks. Scout ran laps around the perimeter of wherever they were posted up, and on a couple of occasions the two of them were the only warning the team got before the robots showed up. Pyro fretted, for the most part, would sweep by the busy members of the team with something to eat and a supportive pat on the arm. But even then, it was obvious the rest were going stir-crazy. Wanted to help, to take some of the weight back, to help share the load if they could.

This was about the only way Spy could help.

Engineer was having trouble keeping his eyes open, but the fatigue fought against his need to eat the tin full of... something. Meat, some kind of sauce. Spy had cooked it, since they apparently had a stove squirreled away somewhere in this particular warehouse, rations, and the team needed something ‘real’ to eat by his measure. The Engineer managed to keep awake, keep shoveling food into his mouth. Distantly, he understood that it tasted very good, and it overcame the nausea he’d been increasingly plagued with ever since all of this started.

The food was one comfort. The warm weight of Spy leaned against his back was another, the man leaned against him as he ate. Outside there was a particularly vibrant sunset happening, that was a third one, the way the light poured through the window briefly driving away a sort of bone-deep paranoia about darkness. About fear. Apparently that was one reason his father always tried to work with the big garage door of the shop open—being in the sun from time to time was important for all types of health. Or, as Spy put it, he needed to get out of his terrible little machinery lair from time to time or else one day the team would find he’d begun transforming into some sort of mole man.

It made him laugh. He missed laughing, he realized.

Once he had some food in his system, some calm, some time to sit in a position other than bent over a drafting table—and, hell, maybe the sun helped too—he started feeling remarkably more like a human being, started relaxing in increments. Started noticing little things. Dust mites lingering in the last light up above their heads. Distant talking, the distinctive laugh of Demo, Soldier barking something in reply. The sound of Spy taking a pull from his cigarette, quiet enough that he’d only really hear it this close. Quiet motion, like fiddling almost, which struck him as odd. Spy wasn’t much for fiddling and fidgeting. Broad, sweeping, dramatic gestures, those he did every time he got a good excuse—but not fidgeting. It was enough to draw his head up from where it was hanging, casting eyes back over his shoulder.

Spy wasn’t looking at him, apparently focused. “What’re you up to, there?” he asked, suddenly made aware of how rough his throat was. Probably from the near-constant full-volume shouting followed by stretches of silence he got up to these days.

“Simple first aid,” Spy said entirely too casually. So casually, in fact, that it took the Engineer a few seconds to realize what he’d even said.

“What?” he asked, turning more fully to look at Spy, at which point he blanched.

Spy had shed his jacket and rolled his sleeves up neatly a short way past his elbows and taken off his gloves and watch, and appeared to be almost done cleaning up and bandaging his left arm, having not started yet on the right one. All up and down his visible skin, and in particular across his palms and wrist, there were a series of mild to severe burns, speckles of dark red and black patching up his forearms, and the Engineer could immediately identify them as being electrical burns, not heat ones.

“How the hell did that happen?” he asked, deeply startled.

A huff of a laugh from Spy. “Mon ami, I go onto the battlefield and am expected to attack mechanical men with a metal blade,” he said, a note of amusement in his voice. “Electrocution is par for the course, I’m afraid.”

“You really oughta... find some way around that,” the Engineer said carefully. “Rubber hilt, or...”

“Most often I can only even tell I’ve caused enough damage to take down any given robot when the shock happens,” Spy shrugged. “It is not terribly painful, especially compared to gunfire. They simply begin to stack up after a while.”

A careful nod from the Engineer, even if it didn’t quite sit right with him. “Want me to help treat those?” he asked, nodding at where Spy was clearly having a bit of difficulty with bandaging his wrist one-handed.

“Our medical supplies are being too regularly depleted even besides superfluous healing of minor injuries, and as much as I would appreciate a moment sat beside one of your dispensers, I’m afraid it would not be very much in the spirit of teamwork to accept your offer, Laborer. If the remainder of our dreary little group is not allowed to accost the dispenser unnecessarily, neither am I, oui?” Spy asked, tone light.

That was one thing he’d started to learn about Spy, especially as of late. Lying and stealing were things he was well acquainted with, but never for something he considered important. To get on other people’s nerves, to get information maybe, but not something important on a whim. Getting on everyone’s nerves was a different beast than intentionally sabotaging them.

“Well,” the Engineer said, still not quite feeling right about it all. “If not that, I can at least lend a hand with wrapping those up. I know a thing or two about getting shocked. Ain’t a fun predicament to be in.”

Only a moment’s hesitation before Spy shrugged, turning to face him, and the Engineer picked up the salve and bandaging and set to work.

This was more his element. Practical problems. Practical solutions. None of the overarching dread, the waiting for the next disaster, the not quite knowing what to do with himself in the miliseconds before the next chore, the next job, the next drive. Just wrapping a wound. Just fixing a problem.

Distantly, there was the sound of something clattering, Demo cheering. The sun was now out of view, and he heard the sound of lights buzzing to life across the area. The light was getting low, and cold was starting to settle into place, more than welcome after yet another sweltering desert day. The smell of hot metal and sweat faded with each breeze that passed through, leaving only the smell of chilly night air, fresh and welcome. By the time it got dim enough to start making him squint to see properly, and he started to wonder whether he should just push through or get a light from somewhere, he realized he was done.

But instead of a twitchiness, an itch to find something else, the urge to keep moving and to find the next thing he needed to work on, he just felt satisfied. Clean bandages, neat wrappings. A vast improvement over before. And when he looked up to see how Spy felt about it all, the man was smiling, just a little, just enough to see even in how dim the room was.

“...What’s the smirk about?” he asked, feeling a bit embarrassed, as if he was missing something.

“Nothing,” Spy said easily, “I suppose I’m just glad you seem to be feeling better.”

A pause, during which the Engineer realized Spy was right. The tension was gone, the ache in his head was fading into a simple weight, and the nausea had settled into nothingness, leaving him relaxed, steady. He blinked.

“Apologies if I’ve overstepped my boundaries,” Spy said after a few moments of that stunned silence, searching his face. “It’s just that for the last several weeks you’ve been stomping around with the third most sour expression I’ve ever seen on you, and it seemed as though nobody else was going to bother stepping in any time soon. I thought that perhaps food and fresh air and polite company may remedy things somewhat, and you seemed determined to only interact with us when you deem it productive.”

“You burned yourself just to get me to sit in one place for a while?” he asked, taken aback.

“Oh, no, non, these burns are truly fairly standard by now,” Spy waved off easily, carefully pulling back on his gloves and watch over the bandages, “I simply prefer to tend to them on my own, the majority of the time. Non, simply a convenient excuse to need your help.”

A pause. “Of all the ridiculous things,” he marveled, blinking at Spy.

In the darkness, he could only barely make out the way Spy’s mouth ticked up into a smirk, watching as he rolled his sleeves back down neatly and reached for his suit jacket. “Well, believe it or not, Laborer, I have been known to stoop to such lows as doing what you call ‘ridiculous things’,” he said, doing his jacket up in an easy motion in the same moment that he rose to his feet, “when I find them to be the only way I can possibly break through to ridiculous men.”

He only had time to sputter over the comment for a second before a gloved hand found his chin, tilting his head up just enough for Spy to lay a kiss soundly to either cheek, and only had time to sputter over that for a second before Spy was snickering and cloaking, a puff of smoke in his wake as he disappeared into the increasing night.

His face felt hot, and he felt that restless energy again, but for an entirely different reason than before, because he wasn’t positive, but he was fairly sure cheek kissing was the sort of thing you greeted someone with when you only meant it in a friendly sort of way, and his brain was far too scrambled to remember it properly just then.

Well. Now he had something to think about besides the robots, at least. Damn shame it couldn’t be a nice, neat, practical problem, but despite his best efforts, he really couldn’t find it in him to mind.

Oh, damn it all.

Sure, you got in just in time! (Though wow we do be lovin’ a domestic Cassian, huh?)

Takes care of the other on sick days: Cassian claims to not get sick. You don’t know how true this actually is, but you’re almost certain it’s bullshit and the only reason K2 hasn’t officially spilled the beans is because maybe Cassian did something to his wiring to assure he couldn’t. Admittedly, that last bit is probably an exaggeration, but the point still stands: There’s just no way that a human, mortal captain, surrounded by and constantly in close contact with other beings and also frequently traveling all over The Maker’s vast space, couldn’t get sick. Chances mostly were that, in his stubbornness, he refused proper bed rest whenever he got struck by a common cold and would push himself to perform. Maybe he feared that allowing himself rest would be perceived as a sign of weakness. Maybe he was afraid that by letting himself embrace such a sorry state, he’d be letting his team down. But heaven forbid you pull any of that shit. It’s hard to see Cassian Andor as the mother hen-type (especially when in comparison to Bodhi), but that didn’t mean that traces of it weren’t there. Sure, he wasn’t the obvious type to usher you off the training field or out of the X-Wing hangar from the first moment you sneezed -- he wants to trust your judgement; you know your body better than anyone would. But if any symptoms of any known-illness persists, he’ll keep an eye on you. And if you don’t go to the infirmary for it as time goes on, then don’t worry: He’ll make sure you do. You could be in the middle of training, stance weak and body sweating despite having barely done anything worth working up a sweat over, and he’ll stop you immediately before ordering you to go get yourself checked. Do not argue with him unless you are prepared to receive an icy stare from those dark eyes of his. He’ll argue that they can’t have you wandering around, putting others at risk (which, to be fair, isn’t an improper claim to make no matter how minute the sickness), but it’s honestly more to the point that he hates seeing you even the slightest bit unwell. Once his tasks are completed (heck, maybe he’ll even put them on hold), he wastes no time visiting you in the infirmary or your sleeping quarters depending on where it’s been decidedly best you’d be placed in. Even if the flu is contagious and the nurse droids insist he keep his distance, Cassian won’t hesitate to shoot them a look before taking a seat next to your resting form, affirming his own decision. He’s actually not a bad visitor to have: If you’re running a fever, he’ll assist the medics in dabbing you with a wet cloth; if you need medicine or a shot administered, he’ll easily get you to accept it or even distract you so that it can be carried out quicker; if food from the mess hall is permitted in your state, he brings you some and makes sure you eat it. And sometimes he just sticks around to make sure you’re breathing properly while you sleep. All in all, he may not necessarily be technically taking care of you, depending on how you use the phrase, but Cassian is most certainly making sure that you are on the fast-track to recovery every single time you fall ill. Your health is not something to be played with. Period.

Makes the other eat breakfast: As stated before, Cassian is more of a mother hen than he lets in on --   even though it’s pretty obvious after a point. He can claim that his   concern isn’t really concern and that he’s just performing his duty as a  captain by making sure your nerf-herding ass isn’t undernourished and thus making it a problem for everyone else. And it’s not the untruth, but it it isn’t the entire truth.   He is well aware that the rations provided aren’t exactly a delicacy on any planet. And he knows that you may find it a bit more difficult to eat first thing in the morning, when everything feels way too rich and heavy for your liking. But he’s also aware that you need to keep up whatever strength you have because it ties in with making sure you stay safe. And like hell you survive recon missions gone wrong, dog fights, and explosions only to somehow be taken out due to lack of vitamins. (Yes, that’s a bit of a jump to make but you get the idea!) He really tries not to make it come across as a stern parent demanding that their kid eat their veggies or what have you. But there are very few other vibes to give off when you’re telling your significant other in a firm voice that they need to finish eating their protein pudding “or else sparring today was going to make them see the other side.” You can pout all you want but in the long run, you do appreciate his attention to your well-being -- even if it comes at the cost of you forcing yourself to swallow a glob of what is supposed to be potassium-rich something-or-other just so you don’t cramp up running any time soon.

Brings up having kids: Personally, you’re honestly neither here nor there about actually having kids, but you’re the first to really try and talk about it. Frankly, the idea of having kids even in a post-war scenario is such a big step for you that it seems almost surreal even as a theory. But you suppose it couldn’t hurt to try and gauge Cassian’s feelings about. After all, communication is important for a healthy relationship, even when one half of said relationship isn’t exactly the most talkative or expressive person around. You don’t really expect Cassian to say much on the matter, which is pretty good because he actually doesn’t really know where he really stands on it when you first bring it up. All he knows is that inside, flurry of thoughts are bumping into one another in a seemingly endless storms of “if so”s and “then that”s and “what if”s. The main problem being that the mindset that accompanies nearly everything for him (that is, the one that was born from the fact that his entire life has revolved around war) has somewhat tainted even the most positive of his thoughts. For one, he didn’t want to bring a child into a world where they could get hurt. Specifically, one where war or differing extremes could so much as rip them out of his life. Cassian wasn’t one to play optimistic: He knew far too well that even if he lived to see the end of this war, there was no guarantee everyone would remain calm enough to keep the peace. So it would seem safe to say that he probably just didn’t want kids. At first. Ask him again a year and a half from then, and his answer’s evolved some. You can chalk it up to him allowing the tiniest sliver of hope inside of him instead of rage and duty: He truly began to wonder in optimism if you could truly win this war. Sure, some of those worries he had before would continue to ring true, but the possibility of living in a future where peace was possible began to feel more and more observable. And in those brief sparks of hope and optimism, he thought he could see flashes of a domestic life with you. He saw the home and the bed the two of you would share a lot clearer than any vision of children, mind you, but it was certainly stronger than what he’d had before. Interestingly, it wasn’t when you asked him a third or fourth time that Cassian could see children in those slips of a theoretical future. The war hadn’t even been won yet, though Mon insisted that it was surely near, judging by communications with the Princess of Alderaan. But there was just something so relaxing about the moment, what with you dozing off, head on his shoulder as the two of you decided to sleep under the stars for the evening. This wasn’t the first time the two of you had done this, mind you, so he really didn’t know what possessed his subconscious to deem this moment any different, let alone different enough to leave him deciding that yes, maybe he would like to start a family with you some day. The stars were the same, the constellations were there like always, he could hear the sounds of X-Wings and other such crafts taking off and landing as well as indistinct talking and beeping and all the other sorts of noises the two of you had grown accustomed to on base. Really, the only thing that might’ve made a difference was that darned feeling of hope he’d allowed to let flourish in him. Dumb optimism. A liking for the idea of getting to be with you in one of the ultimate expressions one can, of creating a manifestation of your love for each other together and raising them to be the good he only wished he could be, and to see them become their own beautiful and beloved person -- He almost wanted to laugh at himself. Or scold himself. Whatever he deserved for thinking so inexplicably gushily. Well, whatever the case, he wouldn’t tell you any of this. . . . Okay, maybe a little bit of it. But certainly not all of it. Maybe if you wanted to talk more about it. He would never admit that in his visions, your child would have your eyes and beautiful smile, though.

_Fall Season_

Because there’s almost thirty of them on the team, they take up the whole bus

There’s an unspoken rule about letting Aoyama get on the bus first so he can choose any seat all for himself

Before the bus drives off, Iida is telling the rest of the team to put their seatbelts first because safety first 

Less than half of them did so

Bakugou has to yell from his seat to shut up or else they’ll get there late 

The bus driver is pretty chill. Everyone refers to her as “Aunty Wheels” after everyone witnessed her use either roller skates, a skate board, scooter, ect

Kaminari came up with the name

Aizawa, Hizashi, Toshinori and Kayama take up the first two rows

Aunty Wheels will have music playing in the over head as she drove the bus

They’re sadly all clean version 

WAP eventually came on but it took everyone a while to recognize it

Mina, Denki, Hagakure, Tokage, lowkey Monoma, Uraraka, Midoriya and yes, Todoroki too are almost screaming the actual lyrics

Iida tries to stop them

They only got louder

Someone posted a video about it on their stories

When they’re fifteen minutes away from the school they’re going to, Aizawa will ask the bus driver to turn off the music for a bit before turning to look at them

Everyone quickly shuts up when they see him turn to them

“When we get there only have your adidas pants, jackets zipped up to hide the costumes, and your drawstrings. The faster we get the equipment out from under the bus, the more practice time we’ll have before preforming. Understood?“ “Yes sir!“

Costumes are uniforms they pay to keep

Instead of the costumes having a specific gender, they’re unisex

The hair style varies because of the length of someone’s hair

Short hair = one bun, medium length = two buns, long hair = three buns (use Rey from Star Wars as reference)

Guys have their hair hair sprayed and/or gelled back

Bakugou, Midoriya, Kaminari, Tetsutetsu and Shinsou use the most hair spray and gel

Aoyama and Sero have low pony tails

Once at the school and they get off the bus, the atmoshpere changes

They were joking in the bus

But now?

Every single one of them is serious 

I’m talking about resting bitch faces, some of them hold their heads high

And no one talks which adds to the intimidation factor

When Aizawa tells them to line up after the weapons are in the red cart (the blue cart is for water bottles and gatorade) and the flag bags have been grabbed, Iida, Momo and Kendo are each leading a line

While they’re walking to sign in, they walk five feet apart to look bigger

None of them look around but with using their peripherals, they know other groups are staring at them

After signing in and finding their practice spot, they set their drawstring bags close to each other and get their own equipment before setting in a block

Aizawa will set the speaker in front of them while they stretch and play music

He’ll put on three songs at most before they do across the floors and a bit of movement 

After that he’ll just have the show music playing on repeat and lets them go off into their sections

Riffle Line

Bakugou and Iida are the ones who are the top two in riffle so they’re cleaning any work that’s dirty

“Shitty Hair watch your pitch it’s tilted a bit. Anymore and it can hit you dumbass.” “Thanks Bakubro!”

“Bakugou refrain from using such language!’

“Shut up Four-Eyes!”

“You’re acting so rabid Bakugou! You sure you have your shots?” 

“He’s had his rabbis shots Monoma.” Jiro snickered and Uraraka started cracking up

 “I WILL-” “Hey Bakugou! Bet you can’t toss a seven, do a tripple turn and catch in a split!” “BET!”

Thank god for Kirishima being able to distract Bakugou before he continues yelling

Saber Line

“Hey Todoroki, how’s the hand before the pop? Under or over the blade?“ Kendo looked at the duel haired male

This man

Could be a MODEL

When he demonstrates the way he does the work, everyone stops just to look at him

“Does Albert have tape? Mine’s starting to peel off again.” Tokage only noticed her tape getting loose again because of the blade being sticky

“We have a walking tape dispenser. Just get it from him instead of having to walk all the way to the cart.” Kaibara shrugged and seconds later Tokage had to cover her mouth with her hand to surpress her laughter.

Flag Line

Uraraka stood infront of the small block of flags clapping the tempo with Midoriya next to her. “Five, six, five six, seven, eight!” 

“Dance with me in my backyard boy-” “Denki!” “Sorry!“

“Wait are we at the double touch the ground or double catch behind the back with our free hand in the air?” “Double catch behind the back kero.”

“Wait, wait, I think I can do the 45 turn around.. Move so I don’t hit you please.”

Koda cradled the flag while standing in first position before opening up as he stepped out. He then turned halfway as he popped the flag so the silk was facing up and then he tossed it over his head before turning once and strongly caught the flag before holding for a bit.

Mina and Uraraka squealed in excitement because it had taken him a while to get the trick

Dance Line

Ojiro helped Tokage with her splits as they waited for Momo and Mina to join them

Aoyama walked over to the two and just

Slide into his left split on Tokage’s right and smiled at her

“Aoyama.” “Yes mon amie?” “I love you but I really want to push you over right now.”

Hakagure giggled as she went into her right split to Tokage’s left with ease

Without hesitation Tokage playfully pushed Hakagure over

_After Practice Time is Up_

When they had to start making their way to the field to meet up with the band, they lined up based on the equipment they have to set up first

They all placed their drawstring bags and clothes in the empty red cart by this point

Since their was four, yes four, movements- they all had their equipment easily accessible to set faster and not waist time

Once at the entrance, Aizawa turned to them and gave them a pep talk

“Go out there and blow their minds. You are all on this team for a reason.”

Hizashi gave his quick talk. “Every single one of you have worked too hard and that got you guys to the division you’re in now. Go rock it out there!”

Toshinori gave the team a small smile as Kayama gave them a wink

“Captains talk to the team.”

Iida, Momo and Kendo nod as the team got close

“I believe in us all! “

“Let’s go out there and do our best everyone!“

“Don’t worry about messing up. Just act like it’s apart of the show and get back in as soon as you can.“

The whole team put (Bakugou was forced to) their hands in the middle before Denki quietly counted to three before they all rose their hands in the air while whispering “Let’s go!”

Aizawa gestured for them to go line up next to the band as they had to go line up at the football field before they were called onto the field

“Please welcome to the field, UA!“

Someone from battery started off the beat and everyone marched in place

They started marching onto the field, stepping with their left foot

Mainly due to the fact he was a city kid when him and Axel used to be the same person. It was also due to the fact he was close to Hilda and needed to be somewhere for him to meet. 

So for a while we were just ‘okay his mom is going to be someone from Unova we’ll decide later’. It took long enough for us decide that I named a tomodachi life character in 2013 ‘Unova’ as the placeholder (yes I made all of the adults and forced them together for our kids in tomodachi life).

Now the Birch’s live on route 104. Specifically Mr. Briney’s old house. Which is right outside of Petalburg (where 3 other kids in hoenn live). Which of course changes a few things.

Larentia and Gale have always been good friends (another thing that used to be a ship that we scrapped simply because it just was not vibing with us). If anything they’re just closer now. Larentia originally only became a ranger because she knew Gale was there and hated living in Unova (they moved when she was 9 originally so she was never there long). Now she just goes because she misses her buddy.

Because Len only have one mon now that makes contests (for when he does them) more difficult. It cases some issues in his first year but eventually he gets the hang of it. The events of BW2 only solidified their beliefs that trainers were cruel, after the very man who inspired them turned out to be nothing more than a villain himself.

Spectre recruited these two when first scouting Unova as a potential location for Team Vitality. He fed them a classic speech, of how pokemon were being hurt all over the world by selfish people, how even their homes and environments were being destroyed. He begged for their help to put an end to this senselessness. It took longer to convince the two to take up pokemon training given how adamantly they were against it. But given Spectre’s final goals, a few years of using pokemon to help grant them eternal life? Didn’t sound so bad.

Selkie and Basilisk don’t play a part in the hospices run by Team Vitality. Alongside Spectre, and handful of grunts are responsible for the more criminal aspects Team Vitality keep hidden. They are the hands behind furthering their true goals.

Selkie and Basilisk are both extremely smart, not only discovering where to find Xerneas after the events in Kalos. They discovered how the awaken the legendary from the Tree of Life as well.

Now finally, for Spectre, aka Spirit (surprising no one reading this post).

Now Spirit’s goals as Spectre definitely do not make sense. After all, isn’t wiping out all of humanity a little…extreme for someone whose goal is supposed to be the conservation of life? Or even that pokemon will also surely be killed in his insane plans! The answer is yes, his goals don’t make sense!

Because even Spirit doesn’t understand what he’s doing anymore. He definitely created Team Vitality for malicious intent, that goal was always there since he left Galar. But initially it was only meant for Galar. However as Spirit traveled through different regions, he felt his hatred growing for not just Galar, but for the world around him.

His goals are, in truth, unabashedly selfish, the world has treated him cruelly therefore everyone is cruel. He wants to die, so he will take the whole world with him when he goes. This entire verse is an extremely bad timeline for Spirit. No real moral support, unable to cope with and deal with his own problems. Spirit sees the path he’s creating for himself, but is adamantly against change because he’s tried in the past. He’s tried to change before, to become a better more open person, and he felt he only grew worse.

Galar proved they didn’t want him no matter who he was anyway. One event happened, one thing no one, not even him, understood, and he was the villain. He’ll stay the villain they so desperately want to see. He doesn’t care anymore, and he “doesn’t care who has to go down with him in the end.”

Its safe to say that Spirit/Spectre is absolutely on the verge of a full mental breakdown. Its something that’s been building for years, getting closer and closer with every plan that goes right, and every plan that goes wrong. Honestly, its unknown how Spirit managed to appeal to Xerneas, enough to actually catch the legendary pokemon.

This breakdown will absolutely come to fruition when he’s finally stopped in his plans. When he realizes everything he’s done to people, to pokemon, to himself. It’s going to be ugly, its going to be bad, and its going to make him eventually see the light once more even if it will not make up for his crimes. But that is in the future.

Spirit has taken great lengths to disguise his true identity. He left behind his old pokemon team for starters, so that no one could peg him on any of his signature members.

He has completely covered every physical feature. He wears a full body outfit, including gloves, and a helmet so that no identifiable feature of him can be seen. He claims to be wearing this outfit to cover and hide severe burn scars. He also speaks solely through a text to speech device so that no one will recognize his voice, or the galarian accent. He claims his vocal cords were destroyed by smoke inhalation.

Acting as Spectre, most of Team Vitality only know the backstory he gave them. He claims to come from Kalos, as the sole survivor of Geosenge. He was badly injured in the explosion of the ultimate weapon, but survived due to “Xerneas blessing” as he puts it, and that since that time he and Kelpie have sought to protect pokemon from human selfishnes. No one but Kelpie knows more than this, Spectre’s true identity, and his appearance under the mask.

Spirit purposefully chose to train and use pokemon that he would have never considered while acting as Champion in Galar. More importantly, there are no shinies on this new team, as he believes even the act of using another shiny pokemon would make him seem suspicious.

Team Vitality is closer to this goal than others know, for they are already rebuilding the ultimate weapon, and their leader, Spectre, already has Xerneas on his side. It is only a matter of time before the world is forced to pay.
