I need to rant...about a good thing.

So my fav band is imagine dragons .The first song of ID that i listened to was Believer, which had become extremely popular when it got released. I loved the song and so I started following their discography.

In 2012 ID released an album called Night Visions. It had songs like Radioactive, On top of the world and Demons. I loved all of it. In fact demons was my ringtone for the longest time. I was worried how they would be able to outshine this masterpiece.

Then in 2015 they released an album called Smoke + mirrors. Initially I wasn't really obsessed with the songs ,but then I started listening to it again and again. Songs like Warrior and Shots were pumping adrenaline in my body. I was sure that this is their best album .

2017, they released the album Evolve. As i mentioned above, this was my introduction to ID and because I loved Believer,I started listening to the entire album. This one had songs like Walking the wire, Thunder, Whatever it takes etc. All of them were lyrically so fucking good. The songs were so good both lyrically and musically that I was convinced these guys won't be able to top it again, EVER.

The very next year came the album Origins. Two of my most fav ID songs, Birds and Bad liar are from this album. It was a perfect mix of emotionally-hitting-lyrically-amazing songs and i-am-gonna-dance-to-this-at-3a.m songs. This according to me was undoubtedly their best freaking album ever. No doubt, no debate, nothing.

Then...then these guys released Mercury Act 1 last year. It is about death , the pain and shock that comes with it. So this was a heavy hitting album obviously . The lyrics were pure gold. There were songs like My life, It's OK, Wrecked, lonely etc which I can connect to on a spiritual level. But the best thing about this album was that it was a perfectly mixed album - so there'll be a heavy hitting song like Wrecked,which is about death but the next song on the list is Monday,a song celebrating the most hated day of the week. Majority of these songs had upbeat melodies with somber lyrics. Again, I was sure this was it. Perfect. They cannot outdo themselves now.

Today they released Mercury Act 2 😭 and I don't know what to say. If Act 1 is about death ,then act 2 is about coping with it, living your life , moving forward. It is described as a celebration of life and humanity. Songs like Siren, Ferris Wheel, Waves, Sharks...I can go on and on about how much I love this album.
