I am genuinely SO MAD about the Daisy Jones and The Six series is doing to Billy's character. I was loving the series right up until that last episode, I didn't mind the changes that had been made. But the way they're trying to build up this "romance" between Daisy and Billy is killing me. The core of Billy's character arc is literally that he messed up and cheated on his wife andhe missed the birth of his daughter bc he was too strung out, but he gets sober and he repairs his relationship with Camila and would NEVER cheat on her again because he LOVES her. To have him throwing himself at Daisy like that, it just doesn't even feel like Billy Dunne anymore.

THE DISNEY SONGS HELP JERKJEKJREWKJRJK Chuuya's got every romantic song memorized from Can You Feel The Love Tonight to Kiss The Girl to whatever that one song from Lady and the Tramp was- he even has instrumental versions on hand for whenever he feels like messing with the boys! Dazai is all for it cause any chance to tease his two disciples (is that what they are? Past and present students? Teammates? Children? Nah that last one is too much- though Dazai would absolutely act like such an over the top mom to Atsushi krkjerkjaekj) is one he'll take!

Also Atsushi sleeping away is so CUTE! He probably sleeps through most Disney re watches cause they're so comforting; the second they start singing he's OUT! ajrkjakjrekjrjkae

i have arrived to ask you about your rewrite ro’meave brothers! what are some of your headcanons for them?

wahhh my boys!! I'm so normal about them!! I'm gonna do my best to give you cohesive ideas, but my hc style is super loosey goosey so lmk if I need to elaborate on anything <3

Garroth:

Was enrolled in the Academy at 18 under the guise that it would make him a smarter, more savage leader. This only worked because Garte prioritizes power and strength over genuine leadership.

Of his siblings, he is the only one who doesn't practice magic

He looks arguably more like his mother, however he is incredibly insecure and upset by the few features inherited from his father. He's terrified those features will connect him to Garte's cruelty

He was 20 and still in the Academy when Vylad was murdered, and he ran away within a few days after his brother's funeral

He acts as a rookie guard in Phoenix Drop for many years before the then head guard appointed him as his "heir" and charge, something he was none too pleased about. The idea of being responsible for that many lives made his stomach turn, but his superior refused to back down from his position

O'khasis is a deeply religious city state, and it's royal family reflects that ideology. Garroth is burdened with heavy religious trauma, and the reveal of Nova (Aphmau) actually being Avon (Irene) really screws with his head and creates many complicated feelings

Garroth had no idea what kind of monster Zane had become in his absence, but even after learning the truth he couldn't help but mourn for his brother after his untimely demise

He tends to view young men under his care as brother figures, namely Zenix and Dante. He was devastated both after Zenix's betrayal and meeting Dante after the 15yr timeskip, and he muses from time to time that he's simply destined to lose his brothers

Zane:

Widely renowned as the youngest High Priest of the Church of Avon to date, having been appointed at only 27

He is directly responsible for the death of only one person: Vylad. He's all but gaslit himself into believing that it wasn't his fault

Immediately following the death of his brother, Zane discovered the Divine Relics and ultimately dedicated his life to the research and collection of them. By the time of his stay in Phoenix Drop, he's collected the relics of Kulzak, Enki, Kebek, and a fragment of Shad's. He knows of the whereabouts of Menphia's relic, Avon's relic, and after "reuniting" with Garroth, Esmund's relic.

Is Leona's biological father via the pendant he gifted to Kiki, and he's well aware that she exists. His role in her creation was entirely unintentional, but it was a sacrifice he was willing to make.

As the High Priest of the Church of Avon, he was tattooed with markings similar to her's. Nova also shares these markings (because she IS Avon), and when the two meet he initially believes her to be an incredibly devout worshipper.

Fully aware that he's become a greater monster than his father ever was, and though he refuses to acknowledge it, there's a part of his subconscious that becomes sick at the very sight of his own face. As such, he's rarely seen without a full-face veil, something he's able to excuse using the Faith of Avon practice of wearing mourning veils following the death of a loved one.

Vylad:

A very talented magics user, something he honed exclusively by watching Zane practice his own craft when they were children. He tries not to rely on it too much anymore, but the skill is still there.

Even though he bears almost no resemblance to his mother, Zianna remains the only person who knows the identity of his father. As such, Vylad is accidentally and unknowingly responsible for his own father's death

Of the Shadow Knights we (Nova) meet, he was the second ever to be reborn, succeeded only by Zenix. That's why he retains all of his memories, as Gene didn't begin the process of brainwashing knights until many years after his own rebirth.

Despite being terrified of facing his family after being reborn, he can't seem to keep himself away. He's drawn to each of them in a way he can't explain, and he feels inexplicably compelled to help out from the sidelines (not dissimilarly to his behavior in life)

It took many years and ye old therapy with Hyria to let go of the hate, anger, and bitter sting of betrayal he felt after his murder and rebirth. He can control himself much better now, but when he was still a young knight just the thought of it was enough to push him over the edge, forcing him ever closer to becoming a Husk

Vylad, like Garroth struggles with religious trauma and discomfort surrounding religion, however during his time spent in the Nether he frequently prayed to Avon, just to have someone to talk to even if they weren't listening. (this one is HEAVILY inspired by if not blatantly stolen from this wonderful comic made by @vyladromeave, go check them out!! I love it so much and I can't stop thinkin about it <3 if this bothers you at all lmk and I'll get rid of this bit no biggie)

In line with the previous hc, he had a pretty strong hunch from the moment she spawned from the staff the Nova was Avon, and even after properly meeting her he wondered if she ever heard any of his prayers and pleas. He's still not sure which answer he'd prefer.

I know we're all talking about the pearl necklace scene, the dream sequence, and the clock tower scene, but I think my all time favorite scene from Goncharov (1973) had to be that one deleted scene that's IMPOSSIBLE to find. I remember it was on the VHS copy that my family owned but ofc we watched the VHS tape until it was literally unusable and it's never been on any of the DVD copies I've been able to find. But anyway it's this deleted scene where Katya tells Sophia about the first time she ever killed anyone, and as she starts talking it fades so we see it as Katya remembers it. She's clearly very young in the scene, she's living in an alley and a man approaches her. He's stumbling, clearly drunk, and his intentions are pretty clear. Katya, tries to slip around him but he grabs her. Just as quickly though, she stabs him. He falls to the ground and Katya leans over and vomits. When she stands back up you can see in her eyes that she is clearly different, instead of a terrified, starving child on screen just moments before, we catch a glimpse of the Katya we see throughout the rest of the film. The man, bleeding out looks at Katya and says "I'm dying" as if it's some sort of absurd revelation, at this point the voice over stops, our Katya is clearly remembering this moment but not repeating it Sophia, young Katya looks at the man and responds "and with you whatever good ever existed in me". As young Katya walks out of the alley the scene fades back to Sophia and Katya in the sitting room in front of the grandfather clock. Katya looks over her shoulder at Sophia and says "I was wrong, about so much". The scene ends as Sophia reaches out to put her hand on Katya's shoulder.

It just gets me every time, the way we actually see the moment Katya goes from a scared child to the woman willing to do whatever it takes to survive right before our eyes. And the implication, that while Katya thought all of the good in her died when she killed that man, but begins to realize that her feelings for Sophia, her feelings for Goncharov (however you view those relationships, either way she clearly cares about both of them) IS the good in her. It's just such a powerful scene, and I honestly can't believe they ever cut it.

seeing mutual talk about infodumping reminded me I want to infodump, so here's a "brief" summary of my Dark Knight headcanons for Parthos

spoilers for the DRK quests and (lightly) Endwalker

Right off the bat, I want to say I had this headcanon before Endwalker, and all EW did was solidify it for me.

Dark Knight magic is fuelled by emotions, aka dynamis (thanks canon for giving me an official word to use). It's primarily used by those with a heightened sense of justice/morality because those people tend to be more in tune with the fluctuations of their emotions (purposefully or not) and tend to be more emotionally driven people.

Different spells are cast by different emotions. Most, if not all, DRK spells are fuelled by some kind of passion or desire. The Blackest Night is my favorite because imo it manifests from a desire to protect. Spells like Unmend and Unleash come from fury or general aggressiveness, Edge/Flood of Darkness come more from a righteous sense of purpose, and skills like Abyssal Drain or other HP/MP restoring skills are a self-determined will to sustain yourself.

Living Shadow is the best skill in the game because Fray is pretty much just an embodiment of the WoL's inner voice, and there is nothing cooler than having a physical embodiment of your emotions show up beside you to fight with you. Don't even get me started on Living Dead.

Tying all this to Parthos who is not the WoL in his main verse, he tripped down the rabbit hole of DRK magic by accident. It's something that just kinda manifests for highly emotional people sporadically, although things like job stones or an actual teacher can make it more accessible to learn. DRK magic's source isn't common knowledge even amongst dark knights, it's just one of those things that happens and you roll with it.

Because Parthos was never properly taught what his magic is, he can't really... channel it willingly. It happens during moments of intense emotion, it's highly volatile, and it drains him of energy severely upon use. It's a goal of mine to someday get him an RP DRK friend who can teach him about it, but my headcanons feel niche so it'll probably never happen.

Also, not every DRK needs to use a giant-ass sword! Parthos uses a lance, Fray (the real one) is canonically a "conjurer" iirc but he's a purely spellcasting dark knight in my heart; other weapons are perfectly suitable since being a dark knight is more about principle and spellcasting than it is Big Sword Go Slash.

Parthos can use Unleash, Unmend, TBN, probably Edge of Darkness, and Cover because fuck you Cover fits DRK better than canon FFXIV paladins. He could probably use Living Dead as well but hopefully he never gets in a situation where he needs to use it ♥

Anyways, all of that to say I like dark knight. thanks for coming to my TED talk, there's more I could say but I won't because this post is Long.
