had to put these on hold for a while for personal reasons </3 they're likely to still be infrequent, but in honor of kirb2k!

I have! I got it very shortly after it came out, I had a really good time with it. I've been slowly replaying it recently with my partner, they were kind of fond of kirby just by proxy but since we started playing they adore bandee now and say he never gets enough screen time XD I'm glad you also had fun!

a final thank you to the patrons! matt, fleurdelis, lukeperiodsun, my wife, hadbabits, dom, jess, and goldom!

news:

this is the last traditional check-all-the-notes roundup! I’ll still look at reblogs replies etc but I’ll just gather them as I see them instead of doing this whole Focused Thing every couple weeks.

my wife still hasn’t heard back about her important interview! she has gently prompted the organization that she (and presumably the rest of them) are still waiting.

it’s so fun! the one I have is from dean and bean, since it’s a really good intermediary between “cheap plastic walmart csm” and “full-scale industrial machine”. which also means it’s not cheap, but with the amount of time and energy it saves me in labor compared to how many things I usually make every fall it’s totally worth it for me.

I appreciate the sentiment, but it’s unfortunately not true! since I myself am disabled the literal physical inaccessibility of voting and polling places stands out most clearly to me (I’ve been fortunate enough to move from one default vote-by-mail state to another, but if that hadn’t been the case I would’ve had to figure out obtaining a mail-in ballot and done that on top of Every-Fucking-Thing Else I’ve had to deal with in the past 5 months, which may not have been possible), but there are also people who live here but are not US citizens that are still directly impacted by how elections go, people who have had their right to vote unfairly suspended, people who don’t have a permanent address, people whose voter registration was unfairly tossed out (my wife actually had to attempt register in our new district twice despite being a white doctor!), people who can’t get the time off of work or school or the childcare coverage to stand in lines at in-person polls, etc etc etc.

it’s very important and makes a big difference to just add “if you can” to any call-to-action sentiment, because there is always always some group or groups who can’t that that action is ostensibly meant to protect and support! it really hurts when people get preemptively mad at you about things you can’t do, that they’re supposedly asking others to do to protect you, and show no awareness that you are among those being yelled at. but literally 3 extra words (or 11 extra characters) does so much to demonstrate awareness and mitigate that pain.
