The House

A series of short stories spread over the last 3 centuries. It takes place in a single Dutch manor home that might have a mind of its own, and explores the effects it has on its inhabitants. The stories will all be very character-driven and can work separately and be read in any order, but I'm aiming to reveal new insights with each addition. Currently in the early stages of (character) development, as I first want to get a good base of ideas before I weave everything together.

Ada & Fletcher's adventures

An 80-year-old lesbian adopts a young gay man as her grandchild. This is a series of short stories that take place mostly in my mind (I should write more about them ahah), inspired by 2 characters I've created for a short story I wrote for a writing course. It's set in the 1950s, when Ada meets Fletcher, a gay Englishman who moved to the Netherlands, on a boat. Ada is making her late "wife's" dream trip to London, while Fletcher is going home to visit his parents. They end up going on all sorts of adventures in England and eventually in the Netherlands, too, but I've written only the story in which they're introduced, haha.

Trein 58 (translated: Train 58)

My first fully-plotted novel concept. Noek, a 16-year-old girl, accidentally time travels back to the 1950s. She ends up being taken in by a baker's family, and gets caught up in a devastating family drama that reveals secrets she never thought she'd discover. It's a multi-POV story, as about half/a quarter of it is told from Truus (the 40-something-year-old housewife's) POV. Frankly, I feel as if Noek's a bit boring and I should spice her up a bit. Truus, on the other hand, is extremely fun to write. She has nearly more flaws than positive traits, and while she's on "the good side", she's morally grey in a lot of other aspects. I just love Truus a lot lol.
