HI COLLEGE STUDENT DIN HERE, specifically studying to be a TLE teacher (course name is VERY long kaya di nalang ako magtalk AHAHAHAH BUT) regarding the food question:

Make sure na you're hitting your four basic food groups, aka carbs, fat, protien and fruit/veg. Easiest and medyo mura na protien sources would be eggs, if kaya ng budget, chicken (breast is malaman).

Tip that I learned from Jo Sebastian (a Filipina dietician on Insta) is to allow yourself to add stuff - i.e. If may sardinas ka which already has fat and protien, you can add in veg like pechay. Or if may instant noodles ka - carbs - add in protien like egg, then veg like kangkong, or even just a fruit in season.

most of the drivers' reactions to the whole Horner situation is so disappointing tbh. what do you mean someone in the paddock, an employee gets harassed by one of the top figures in the sport and your reaction is either "it has nothing to do with me", or "no comment", "i just like cars and i want to drive", "it's noise and distraction", "i'm here to race", and "it's a good thing for the media", "it doesn't affect me", "i don't really have an interest".

why is it so hard to care about something other than your racing career? you gotta have some morals, dude. not caring about women's safety in your oh so beloved sport is some fucked up behaviour. in situations like this it really shows how fucking privileged they are and it's honestly repulsive.

this is precisely why Lewis is always the one being asked about any non-sport related topic. because he's the only one who cares and gives honest and nuanced answers. genuinely terrified of what this sport will become when he retires, cause no one will speak out on anything.

and then people wonder why we say that f1 is not a safe place for women and that misogyny is still very much a thing in the sport? men don't care, including the president of the fia and f1, the other team principals and most of the drivers as well. when the faces of the sport clearly don't give a shit about women, what kind of hope is there?

they can talk about equality and progressive values and promoting women in motorsports, when this is the reality of how they actually treat the women working in the sport. imagine how that poor woman is feeling, seeing how much the drivers care about what she's going through. utterly disrespectful, with no compassion or empathy.

f1 needs to do so much better.

10 years in the making

George Russell x driver!reader

A/N: This is wayyyy longer than I expected it to be. Hope you enjoy :)

You've known George since you were both seven. Karting together. Its always been you and George. It was very rare to see one of you with out the other. You're parents made jokes that you'd marry each other and your response was always the same, "We're just best friends." But when you got older those feelings changed.

15 years old. Racing was getting serious for the both of you, meaning you spent even more time together and competing. It was a dream. That's when you started seeing George in a different light. He was no longer George Russell, your best friend. Now he was George Russell, the boy you fell head over heels for but could never have.

It pained you to have these feelings. He would never feel the same. He saw you like a sister. You were in love with someone you knew would never love you back. So you tried, with everything in you, to forget these feelings.

21 years old. Entering formula one with your best friends. You and George had both signed for Williams. While you were excited to be in F1 and have a friend as your teammate, seeing George non stop wasn't going to help with these feelings. For six years you couldn't rid yourself of this longing and empty feeling.

You'd never dated anyone. George, Lando and Alex always questioned you on your love life and you never had anything to offer. You didn't want to date, you only wanted George. Every time you imagined your future George was the main component. You couldn't count the amount of times you've pictured your first date, first kiss, first anniversary, engagement, wedding, first child. All you wanted was for George to want you like you want him.

You noticed a slight change in George's behaviour in your rookie year. He became more flirty than he ever was. But you didn't want to get your hope up. He now had thousands if girls throwing themselves at him. That's just how he talks to everyone.

When George moved to Mercades you were relived. You loved spending time with George, but it was killing you to have to be with him more than everyone else. Now you had Alex as your teammate.

Alex was always questioning you on your love life. He would bring it up the most around George. He was the most observant over the years. He noticed your longing stares, the way your eyes would light up around George and your immense annoyance when ever George talked about a girl he liked. Alex knew. He knew the minute you fell, but he never spoke to you about it.

Race week, meaning you had to see George. George, who had recently broken up with his girlfriend for no apparent reason.

The five of you, Charles, Lando, George, Alex and yourself, were sat in the drivers hospitality, talking.

"And this is horsey last week. he broke a vase jumping off the shelf." Alex was showing everyone a picture of his cat.

"Is he okay?" Charles asked, concerned about the animals wellbeing.

"A piece of glass got stuck in his paw so we had to take him to the vets to get it removed."

Charles PR manager showed up a little later to usher him to his duties. Lando's manager soon followed. It was just you, Alex and George.

"So you and carmen broke up." Alex turned to George.

"Yeah." George seemed nervous about the topic.

"What happened then?"

"Well, I realised I have feelings for someone else and it'd be unfair to her to waste her time when I love someone else, y'know?"

"Yeah." the room was silent for a moment until Alex spoke again, "Who is she then?"

"What?" George looked terrified, eyes bulging out of his head.

"Who do you have feelings for?"

"It, uh, it doesn't matter." George struggled with his words, wanting to avoid the question, "It's nothing anyway."

"Well, its clearly something if you broke up with carmen 'cause of her."

"I mean, I-"

Before George could continue his sentence all three of your PR managers came to rush you to pre-race media.

The race went okay, you and Alex both scoring points. While you were happy about that, you couldn't stop thinking about George.

Everyone was walking away from the media pen, your eyes caught on Geroge.

"Crushing hard, huh?"

"What!?" You spun around to find Alex with a huge smirk on his face.

"It's obvious you like him."

"Like who?"

"George."

"I, I, wha-, I mean, no." you stumbled over your words, struggling to form a proper sentence.

"You're blushing."

"I'm not." your hands touched your face to be met with your burning skin. Alex laughed lightly at your defensiveness.

"Don't laugh." you were embarrassed to say the least, "How long have you known?"

"Too long."

...

Now knowing for sure of your feelings for George, Alex set out on a little mission. After lots of pestering George, Alex heard the best thing in the world.

"Come on, you always tell me who you like." Alex whined.

"God, you sound like a teenager." George stated, walking away.

"Just tell me." Alex ran in front of him, blocking his exit, "I won't move move until you do." There was a minuet of silence.

"Fine, I'll tell you." George sighed as Alex's face lit up with excitement.

"It's y/n, okay." George whispered, hoping Alex couldn't hear his confession.

"Didn't quite catch that." Alex teased.

"It's y/n! I like, no, I love y/n."

"See, was that so hard."

"Just move."

...

3 months since your conversation with Alex. He was putting his plan into action.

"Lily, where are you taking me?"

Lily said she had an amazing surprise for you, so now you were blindfolded and being dragged to an unknown location.

"You'll see, just be patient."

A salty smell hit you. Sand beneath your feet, dipping from your weight. Seagulls squawking.

"We're here!" Lily sounded so excited.

When she removed your blindfold you were met with the most romantic picnic ever. Candles, rose petals, wicker basket.

"If you wanted to take me on a date all you had to do was ask." you laughed. Lily laughed with you.

"No, this is for you and a special someone." she couldn't stop her excited giggles.

Before you could respond, you noticed Alex in the distance leading a blindfolded George. You were speechless. When they reached the picnic, Alex had the biggest grin on his face.

"We're here." Alex said to George.

"Finally," George sounded relived and slightly annoyed, "We've been walking for ages."

When Alex removed his blindfold you felt your heart beat a hundred times faster, like it was going to jump out of your chest.

When your eyes met it was like every worry or fear you ever had was just gone. Your heart beat slowed. It was like you and George were in your own world. You didn't even notice Lily and Alex leaving.

"Y/n." George whispered after what felt like a life time.

"George."

"So we both got tricked here by Alex?" he smiled

"Yeah." you could barely believe this was happening.

In unison, you both sat down on the checkered, red picnic blanket. Opening the basket, you were met with a beautiful selection of cakes and sandwiches.

You sat for hours just talking. Reminiscing. Realising the years you both wasted, being in love with each other and being to scared to admit it.

"The baskets empty." you stated.

George didn't respond. When you turned to look at him he reached his hand up to caress your cheek softly. without a word, his lips were on yours. In that moment, everything felt right. You fit like two puzzle pieces, you were made for each other.

When you pulled away, foreheads touching still, George spoke the words you longed to hear fall from his lips for the past ten years.

"Y/n y/l/n, will you be my girlfriend?"

With a smile so big it physically hurt, you responded, "Of course, George Russell."

Your lips met again. You were in heaven and never planned to leave.

I mean genuinely keeping it in the non-RPF this is one of those moments (well the whole interview) where you realize two teammates are actually tight and not just work buddies. like when Charlotte said she heard Carlos and Lando laughing in one of the driver's rooms and it was them doing the Spanish lessons video, she was like oh they actually have fun together! and in this case it's that at some point Lando realized that Oscar isn't just placidly doing his job of being around him as a teammate - which Oscar himself said can get mistaken about his low energy personality - but that Lando stretches out and inhabits space exactly as he wants bc he knows Oscar is happy to hang out there and never asks him to change!

like I get that people want Oscar to have a shared hobby with Lando like golf/sport with Carlos and photography with Daniel to guarantee a reason for them to keep hanging out and a common topic of interest. but idk ?? considering how much Oscar keeps his non F1 life private and off the radar (not like, secret but also not broadcasting it) I think the fact that we hear all these little anecdotes about them hanging out (sharing commiserations in Vegas aka Oscar scrolling Lando content while Lando was right next to him??) is the reality of Lando existing as a part of Oscar's non public facing life. and for someone as public facing as Lando it indicates a lot when a lot of his closest, longest friends don't document anything beyond a picture or a mention about when they hang out.

it's not as fun for fans bc obv we don't get the same amount of content as the bromances do. but in my stupid parasocial way I find it heartwarming??

and also Oscar mentioning this in August and then them both saying it October and just. do you ever imagine that first race where Lando starts playing his Feelings Playlist and Oscar is just chilling/napping...

and at some point they both realize that Lando needs to fill space with sound ("I don't like silence") and deals with so much self-imposed pressure before races - and that Oscar is easygoing and happens to like all of Lando's music choices and for him the race starts when he gets in the car.

Filipino college girl math:

Inside the campus, plain rice plus ulam (which tbh is always either sisig or chicken strips) is ₱50, then a drink is always ₱20, might get something sweet for ₱20 ish so per meal is technically ₱90

Outside campus: egg fried rice (expertly made by a street cart) is ₱45, cheese sticks are 3 for ₱20, and something sweet is around ₱10 with the drink (SAME SIZE AS THE DRINK INSIDE) is ₱10.

BUT since walking outside takes ENERGY i burn off calories!! And we support small local street carts because they don't have the support that indoor concessionaires have

In conclusion i will be eating exclusively outside my school campus from now on

i remembered that one time when i went to a private school in the philippines, my pocket money was only twenty pesos (don’t ask; my aunt was a cheap hoe she should stay where she belongs) and the food in the cafeteria cost 50 pesos. i’d be starving the whole day until i can go out to the eatery outside (we couldn’t go out until after school because we have a guard) and buy two lumpiang gulay for fifteen pesos.

ngl… that’s a memory i don’t even want to remember but i still do.

hi!! the pundit!jenson/driver!seb idea has me obsessed, i cannot stop thinking about it *crying emoji* i need to know everything!!

i don’t wanna give too much of the plot away but ofc!!!!!

i already mentioned that jenson was never an f1 driver but he still tried!! he raced all the way up to 2000 (right before he entered f1) and had to stop

so officially the story will take place in 2012, the year after seb’s first championship

it’s jenson’s first year actually covering f1 though! sticking to motogp and the lower levels like formula renault for comfort reasons

he’s still friends w mark and i mention pretty early on that mark is the person who persuaded him to come to f1

pundit!jenson obviously still has a lot of knowledge about the sport first hand, especially what it’s liking growing up surrounded by it and not quite making it to the top

for those reasons his insight seems to make him more likeable than other pundits/reporters bc of experience

and we’ve all seen jenson, who doesn’t love his cheekiness and humour in interviews

bc of his personality and connection w mark he gets close to the main members of the grid, or at least familiar w them

im kinda new to f1 so i can’t guarantee that the terminology will be any accurate but here’s what will be: jenson still comes up w the britney nickname lol

obviously jenson’s heard about him before bc of mark’s complaining and you know, him winning a championship

but they’ve never actually met and bc of jenson’s slight aversion to the sport before the story takes place, he didn’t know what he looked like

seb can keep up w his humour and man what’s more important than that

they don’t interact too much in the beginning

but you know, seb enjoys jenson’s interviews along w the rest of the paddock so they get pretty comfortable w each other

uhhh then plot happens (dm me and i can tell you lol)

also most of the story will be from jenson’s pov

some side plots!!!!

after they become friends, seb will watch jenson’s interviews just to hear his voice

mark had a karting bday party that year and invited some of the grid— jenson beat half of them

(the reason that jenson stopped racing isn’t public knowledge so they kinda just thought it was bc he was bad lol)

the media starts including jenson when talking about the grid out of habit (at least when they’re talking about non-racing related topics)

jenson parties w mark and fernando the most (bc ofc he would) but never drinks too much (ooc but related to plot lol!)

So on the whole Fred thing, there is this article https://it.motorsport.com/f1/news/f1-vasseur-ferrari-nuova-al-95-ma-non-sara-una-rivoluzione/10558537/ that covers some of the questions that Fred was asked in the annual lunch that the press attends. He was asked a lot of questions in regards to the contact extension of both drivers and the whole number 1 and number 2 driver and all of that.

These are some of the highlights from that:

Are there any updates on the status of the contract negotiations for the renewal of Charles and Carlos? Is the goal still to renew with both? “As you know, they are under contract with us until the end of 2024, which means we still have a few months ahead of us. Last year Mercedes renewed the contract for 2024 to both of its drivers at the end of August; so, I believe we still have weeks and months ahead of us. A year ago I told you that I would try to make a decision by the end of this year, but I have to admit that the last part of the season was very busy. We met and started discussions, but we are a little behind the initial plan. I don't think it's a problem at all, we'll make a decision soon.”

Do you think the renewal of the drivers will come before the start of the season? (!!) “It could be the goal.”

Do the renewals of the two pilots provide for the same duration in terms of years of contract or will there be different agreements for each of them? “I remember perfectly well that a year ago in this same room I was getting a lot of questions about the topic 'Charles number one and Carlos number two of the team'. We have shown on several occasions that we are guaranteeing our pilots more than equal treatment, I believe Singapore has been the best example.”

“Charles agreed to start the race with a set of soft tires to be able to get past Russell and control him, all to help Carlos. We have two drivers who are doing a good job, Carlos was very strong after the summer break with two great weekends in sequence in Monza and Singapore, and it was probably a stimulus to Charles, as we saw in the season finale.”

“We will continue in this direction, I don't want to have a good resource and another second level, we have two cars and two drivers of value, and I think one of the positive aspects of the season was the performance of Carlos and Charles. They guaranteed the team pretty much the same points, with a small delta of difference and we want to go on like this.”

(Just as a note, this article was written in Italian and this is its translation)

The fact that Fred has said that both are equal, despite what he said in Abu Dhabi about Charles being a leader, means that there’s something going on, because in less than a month you don’t change your narrative unless something happened.

Another thing is that he said that Charles agreed to jeopardize his race, which honestly I don’t believe it makes much sense, especially putting in the context of Charles helping Carlos, yet Carlos never did that, and Carlos did say that he won’t leave a gap or something like that unless it’s Lando or Fernando, so the whole Charles is helping and yet he doesn’t come out with a podium, I don’t know, it doesn’t make much sense.

But what could be said, is that there’s something, Fred is unable to talk about contracts, saying both drivers are equal, there’s something fishy going on in Maranello and as a Charles to RBR supporter (because of the drama and racing, not necessarily shipping) I’m sat.

Although there is absolutely no way whatsoever any of us can know for sure what any of this means, one way or another, I definitely think this whole interview is suspicious as hell.

It's only been a few weeks since Abu Dhabi, and Fred suddenly having such a profound change of opinion just doesn’t add up.

Like I said, we have no way of knowing what — if anything — this means, but I am personally very excited to see how the Ferrari/Charles/Carlos saga will turn out in the end.

in a class today i asked two boys ab the f1 and one started explaining the diff types of f1 followers, but kinda said ab the "driving obsessed ones", the "fanboys", and so i obviously chipped in w the fact that "omds yeah no, like, ik some are so hot and lots of ppl find them fit, like........ Max Verstappen and Lerclerc" (yes, the names spelt wrong - and that's bc i didn't realise i was saying it wrong at the time either)
