Why as soon as a couple of actors become wildly popular for playing a couple of characters in one thing do people have to start with the fan-casting of and ‘petitioning’ for the same actors to play other pairs of characters in everything else

Give me a Percy Jackson who hates swim team. Who went to a public pool for swim lessons once when he was five and started to sob the second his skin hit the water
give me a Percy Jackson who is always just the slightest bit unsettled at pools because water is never meant to have the life sucked out of it and be divided into lanes or put in boxes in the ground
Water isn’t meant to be contained.
a percy jackson whose skin feels like it’s slowly beginning to burn when he tries to swim in chlorinated water, who hates any set swim stroke with a passion and can’t stick to one for the life of him
who doesn’t understand why you’d want to keep only to the surface of the water, when being cradled under the surface is everything
because swimming is supposed to be like the tides, maybe patterned, but never identical, it’s supposed to be flowing with the world around you as you please
Give me a Percy Jackson who loves the sheer nature of water so much that he can’t help but quietly despise our “pools” and their dead water with their constricted sides and restrictions on what it means to change with the world around you
A Percy Jackson who is the child of water in its most natural state, and who can hardly bear to see the way society has attempted to contain it and sterilize it and strip away its power
He hates swim team, but that’s only the half of it

i think mostly we as a culture need to stop pretending media is for us and instead recognize that it's for the people making it. "the show didn't do the thing I wanted it to" is so not the point. did it do what the people making it wanted it to do? did it tell the story they were trying to tell? than it was successful. if that doesn't align with what you wanted to happen, don't get up in arms about it. don't badmouth the creators and throw a tantrum. that's what fan works are for. the text is the text, and it told the story it was telling. you wouldn't be like "ugh shakespeare is insane for act v btw like there was no reason for juliet to kill herself she should've just waited and then her and romeo could have been together wtf this ruined the whole play" like no!!! the themes were there the set-up was there the foreshadowing was there shakespeare did what he intended to. just because it wasn't a happy ending and just because you thought it should've went differently doesn't mean it was bad. read a fic where juliet lives and move on.

Clearing out the trash takes that’ve accumulated in my inbox over the last 12 hours while I was asleep, and did you guys know that Vlad and Nathan aren’t a true mlm pairing because there’s a woman involved, and I, the bisexual, polyamorous/ambiamorous author am just trying to get queer woke points by writing a "spicy het" romance and calling it queer by having two men kiss?
(Tell me you haven't read it, without telling me you haven't read it, lol.)
Shocking.
Anyway, if you're not a biphobe, you might enjoy my novel, Hunger Pangs: True Love Bites, where a deaf, disabled werewolf, a neurodivergent, mad scientist vampire, and an all-powerful [REDACTED] save the world against dark forces with the power of magic, science and overcoming generations of ingrained bigotry.
(Just think! If Nathan wasn't a bi-disaster and fallen head over heels for the socially awkward vampire--a faction his family used to be at war with and still distrusts centuries later--the world would have ended!)
It's sort of like the queer, goth love child of Terry Pratchett meets Jane Austen.
Also, there's magic trees, gothic castles, and some other fun shit.

It's incredibly weird (and telling) that Helaena's grief and trauma is centred over Jaehaerys's actual death in most mentions of Blood and Cheese. It's especially weird and telling that her grief and trauma is then weaponized against Rhaenyra, and lamented in a way that Rhaenyra's grief and trauma is not. That she's upheld as an innocent and a victim in a way Rhaenyra is not.
Because if Daemon had ordered Blood and Cheese to simply kill Helaena, an adult who claimed the title of "Queen," an active participant in talks in the books, and an enemy combatant whose massive war dragon made immediately ending the coup by seizing King's Landing too dangerous, he would have been 100% ethically correct.

it can be both, you know? it can be both.
fem sirius can be wonderful and validating for people who see themselves align with that representation of him but also the popular trend in fandom to make a fem sirius, particularly when paired with a hyper masc remus, can start to feel like fandom is forcing an m/m pairing into traditinal steretypical f/m roles and that can cumultiviely start to feel like homophobia and that doesn't change anyone's right to create fem sirius or mean that someone who creates fem sirius is homophobic because they create fem sirius or that someone else might feel validated by hyper fem sirius but that validation might also make someone else feel isolated because they don't fit into that depiction either and it can be both.
it can be both.

All I'm gonna post today is that I have very strong feelings about the fact that the dude who literally almost has never showed up on the server has more animatics than the man who has spent everyday constructing an intricate and fascinate plotline full of mysteries and cool moments <3

I feel like if Izzy had made Stede stab him for his own (sexual?) gratification, at gunpoint, we'd be seeing posts calling him a rapist, is all I'm saying.
Because literally everything he does, short of breathing, gets spun in the worst possible way until you'd not even sure you're watching the same show.

sometimes i think about how the people who hate on my takes on here would talk to each other and its always phrased like the twitter fandom drama i see but completely irrational and it makes me giggle
"calling kusuke abusive just because he shot his brother with a lethal weapon, plotted his murder, planned to use their grandparents to assist in hurting/killing him, and tried for years to expose his secret to the entire world against his will and through knowingly hurtful means in order to destroy everything he cared about is so stupid! what a stretch!"
"the saiki k fandom is so damn sensitive. i shoot my brother with massive guns all the time and its not abusive because he just blocks it!" HELPEKSJJSJSKSKKS
